((An opening scene because I don't want to make a separate solo thread. Read it if you want, but it's not necessary for the thread.)) As usual, she set her alarm thirty minutes earlier than she needed to. She continued to lay in her bed, but she didn't need more sleep. Instead, her eyes examined all the spots and stains on the ceiling. Hmm? Was that a new one on the top-left corner?
The sun crept through the blinds on her window, but it didn't really matter. She left her light on all night. Always have, and probably always will. Still, better to save on electricity. She reached out and clicked off the small lamp on her bedside desk.
Today... class as usual. She didn't have practice today, so she supposed she could take it a little easy today. Still, it was her turn to mind the shop after school, a task she typically dreaded. Thanks to the silly videos she made, it was just weird having people you never met recognize you. Though, that was becoming less frequent every month. Then she had to try and hurry home before it got dark. The streets on the way back home were well-lit enough, but... you could never be too careful traveling by yourself around these parts.
She gave a long sigh as the time went on. She really didn't want to get out of bed, today. But as her mom used to morbidly point out - If you don't tend to your garden, all you get are dead flowers. She groaned as she sat up, then slapped her cheeks until they became rosy, and got out of bed.
Still, the young woman took far too long to get ready than she preferred. By the time she finished cleaning up and got dressed she realized she was going to be late. She didn't have time for breakfast. She stepped into the living room as nearly every step she took caused the floor to creak. She was desperately trying to straighten her hair out with her fingers. Still, she didn't like having it straight down but she didn't have time to do anything fancy.
"You're running late today," A young man with unnecessarily bright blue hair and eyes commented as she walked out. He was holding a bowl of what was no doubt some unnecessarily sweet and sugary cereal. Looked delicious, but she didn't have time to eat breakfast. Naoki barely looked any older than Honoka, even less so with the mocking grin on his face. "You feelin' moody this time o-"
"Can it," She warned, though her voice was muffled by the hairband she held in her mouth as she held her hair. She finished tying her hair off to the side before speaking again. "Everyone else already gone?"
"Yeah. Eiji saw you were running late, so he made some grub for you," Naoki tilted his head to a bento box sitting on the table. "Though if you don't want it..."
"For someone as lazy as you, you're eating enough as it is," She slipped her bracelet on as she grabbed her bag and lunch.
"You... need someone to... walk ya?" Naoki asked as if it physically pained him to offer. Honoka looked her older brother up and down. His hair was a mess and he was still in his pajamas. There was no way she had time for him to get ready. Or even worse, he'd just go out looking like that.
"I'll be fine," She assured him, taking a breath through her nose before a lovely smile spread across her face. "Besides, I'm gonna have to run if I'm gonna make it to the station in time, so I'd pretty much be going by myself, anyways!"
Naoki gave a chuckle of acknowledgement before shrugging. "Well, take care. Don't get mugged."
"You, too!" She replied, quickly slipping on her shoes. She stepped outside and shouted back, "And help out at the shop today or... clean the house, or something!" She shut the door before her brother had the chance to reply. She exited the house, taking in a breath of fresh air. Or at least, what was considered fresh air in this part of town. Judging by the puddles on the ground, it must have rained last night. She took one step out to the sidewalk...
Only for a student on a bicycle to speed past in front of her, going straight through a puddle and splashing filthy water all over her. She let out a surprised yelp as the student looked back at her.
"S-sorry!" He yelled out.
"Slow down! And you're gonna hurt someone if you don't look where you're going!" Honoka warned. She saw the cycling student nearly crash into someone as he stumbled on his bike before continuing on. She shuddered as she felt the cold from the dirty water seep into her clothes. She felt a something moving on her and saw a worm crawling on her shoulder. She nearly gagged as she gingerly plucked it with her thumb and forefinger and set it down near the closest patch of dirt.
She didn't have time to change, so she only hoped they could at least dry off on the run to the station. She took a moment to stretch her limbs then took off at a sprint towards the train station at full speed. She turned a corner and nearly ran into a conspicuously well-dressed man with slicked-back hair and a scar on his face. With some tricky footwork she managed to twirl around the legally-sound gentleman, waving an apology for their near-collision.
"Watch where you're runnin', flower girl!" She had to cringe when he said that. She didn't know why a guy like that recognized her. She wasn't sure she wanted to know, either. Instead she kept on running until she heard the sound of a crying child. Ahead of her was a little girl all alone, crying her eyes out. She glanced to see several people just walk by the little girl and pretend she didn't even exist.
Seriously!? No one was going to try and help the girl? Of all the... she had places to be, damn it! She kept on running, taking a single step past the little girl and considered to just keep running, before skidding to a stop and turning around. She stepped in front of the little girl and put her hands on her knees as she spoke with a soft voice and a gentle smile. "Hey there! Are you lost? Do you need some help?" The little girl shook her head but continued sobbing. She pointed up, towards a cat sitting in a tree.
"M-m-mika-chan is... all alone... so..." The girl kept on sobbing. Honoka let out an exasperated sigh before standing up.
"I see... um..." Honoka looked at her surroundings before turning back to the little girl. The branches were pretty high up, and Honoka didn't think she could climb it, seeing as the previous night's rain made it slippery. "I want you to promise me to never try what I'm about to do, okay?"
"T-try wha..." The little girl didn't have time to finish her sentence. Honoka suddenly leapt of the ground, jumping on top of a nearby fire-hydrant. She kicked herself upward, reaching out and grasping a lower branch with both hands. It was a little too slippery for her liking, and the branch started to give way so much that she thought it would snap entirely. The branch held, however, so she used her legs as a counterweight to swing her lower body upwards closer to the cat. Honoka locked the back of her knees around the same branch the cat was stuck on as she hanged upside down, reaching out for the animal.
"Hello Mika-chan... Don't be scared! I'm just here to help you get dow-" The cat suddenly hissed at the girl and jumped down from the tree of her own volition. It took off darting down the sidewalk as the little girl below began to cheer and laugh.
"Yay! Thank you, soggy lady!" The little girl shouted before running off after the cat. Hanging upside down from this tree for no apparent reason, the young woman just kind of stayed there for a minute as people passed by, probably wondering why that schoolgirl was hanging upside down in a tree like a jackass. As she took a deep breath and made her way back down from the tree, Honoka had to wonder if she did something to anger some greater deity in a past life or something.
And her questions was immediately answered when out of nowhere, something fell from a small portal the sky and smacked the young woman right on top of her head. She saw a pink object fly in front of her as she instinctively caught it right before it struck the ground. It looked like a some kind of... old-timey pocket device or something. Pink in color, it had mint-green accents. A blank screen lay off-center, surrounded by a gold ring that kind of reminded her of a sunflower. Or more likely, a sun.
Well, thanks to her stint with the tree she was already going to be late. But suddenly the screen lit up, displaying a strange symbol she had never seen before. And yet she somehow understood what it was she had to do. In the middle of the sidewalk, she lifted the device above her head and shouted out...
"Excuse me! Did anyone drop their phone?"

A young boy with bright orange hair jumped into a puddle of water making a splash around him. Demi, in his holosuit, was having fun jumping in and out of the puddles. For a Digimon that is pretty made of fire, Demi had a strange liking to water. He giggled as his boots got wet and after a few seconds, he would run to the next one and splash around. The Digimon in disguise turned around to look at his tamer, Desmond. The tall blond was looking at his cellphone with an emotionless expression. "Desmond!" The Digimon shouted. "Desmond, look!" The Frenchman barely lift his eyes up and take a peek at Demi that was still jumping up and down. "Look!" Desmond closed his cellphone and placed it into his pockets and nodded. "Yes, Demi. I'm looking." He simply said as he looked around him.
To be honest, though, Desmond didn't really want to be in that place. He just followed his little partner running around like a child. He lost track of time and yawned heavily. He already convinced Demi to not go play in the rain yesterday but he couldn't stop him from playing outside after the rain. So the two of them began wandering from puddles to puddles all across Shibuya. Well, as much that it was kind of boring just walking around, he did had to admit that it was quite enjoyable seeing how happy his partner was. Desmond might have lost that child-like amazement but Demi still had it and that made him smile for a second before looking behind him.
He wasn't sure if it was just because they were in this particular sector of Shibuya but he had a strange feeling that they could get mugged in any seconds. The blond tamer stopped moving for a moment to carefully look around him before slowly turning his body to look at Demi that was now running away from him. The Frenchman sighed. He knows that Demi wasn't the kind of kid that would get in trouble but it is Utagawa back streets so problems might come to him. Desmond sighed again before walking a bit faster as he saw the Digimon getting further away. "Demi, not too fast." He said out loud prompting the young boy to turn around that wave. "Okay!"
After a few more seconds of running around, Demi suddenly stopped. He looked to his right and saw a girl with colorful hair holding something above her head in the middle of the sidewalk. The Digimon giggled a bit upon hearing her shout at the sky. To be fair, he didn't really hear what she said from where he was standing. Demi decided that he should go meet that girl and see what she was doing with that in her hand. He shifted to see Desmond and wave. "Desmond!" He shouted making his tamer slow down. "There's a funny lady here!" The Digimon shouted while pointing at her general direction. "Stop pointing, Demi. It's rude."
With a quick nod, the young boy began making his way toward the girl and as he got closer and closer, he stopped about a foot or two away from her and looked up at the sky as well. He didn't move or say anything at first. It could be described as being a bit awkward but he was trying to figure out why she was shouting at the sky. It would take him a bit longer to realize that she was holding something pink. And it looked familiar. "Oooooooh!" Demi began pointing at the Device with a broad smile. "Hi!" The Digimon extended his right arm to her for a shake. "I'm Demi!" And he paused with stars in his eyes. "Do you have a Digimon?"
"Demi. Don't go hug random people again." Desmond shouted out loud as he too got closer to his partner and the girl with colorful hair. "Sorry, he is just curious..." And he too paused before placing a hand on Demi's head. "No mentioning of Digimon with strangers, Demi." He said in a fatherly tone. "Sorry again." He apologized. "Look! Look!" The Digimon pointed to the pink Digivice. The Frenchman slowly moved his eyes to look at it. "Is this a Digivice?" He asked thinking that she knew what a Digivice is.

Honoka was starting to get embarrassed holding the strange device up in the air. The people that walked by just ignored her, some taking visible steps away while they did so. Heck, she even heard one small child call her out on her ridiculous demeanor. She kind of chuckled at nothing in particular as she slowly lowered her hand down as the same child approached her. Oh well, she guessed she could work with 'funny lady'. Much better than 'soggy lady'. The orange-haired child held out his hand and introduced himself, and Honoka gave a polite bow and then shook his hand.
"And I'm Honoka!" She responded with a warm smile. "It's nice to meet you, Demi-chan! But I'm afraid I don't have any... Digimon..." She looked at the pink device in her hand. Was this some sort of new toy? She supposed that it must have been something popular with the kids now. She didn't really have much time to keep up with trendy stuff. Last time she checked, a certain electric mouse was still popular... Still, she saw a man approach the pair, presumably the boy's father.
"It's okay! Your son is a sweet boy!" Honoka assured the man, standing up straight and giving him a polite bow.
They were foreigners, from the looks of their hair. Brushing back some of her pink hair that fell loose from her acrobat stunt in the tree, she wished she could be so lucky to have hair so exotic. But if they were foreigners... did they realize what part of town this was?
The two talked amongst themselves for a bit while Honoka politely tried to ignore it. Then Demi pointed towards the object she was still holding, and the man asked if she was holding a Digivice. "Ah... I don't know... I'm sorry..." She answered with a nervous smile. "I just kind of happened to... pick it up... and no one seems to have cared that it's missing..."

"Honoka!" Demi lifted both hands into the air as he said her name. He tried to go for a hug but Desmond stopped him by holding his head with his left hand. Desmond stayed silent for a moment as he realized that she did not know anything about Digimon. And that he kind of looked old next to his partner. He went to scratch the back of his head with his left hand still on Demi's head. "Actually... I'm his brother, kind of." He didn't sound very sure of himself. "We are brothers!" Demi shouted with joy. "We got the same glasses!" He said while lifting his thick frame glasses for Honoka to examine. If she would choose to look at them, she could see that the lenses are fake plastic and that they didn't have the same frame at all.
"Can I give her a hug?" The Digimon then asked his tamer by looking up at him. "Please?" The blond tamer sighed and nodded. "Only if you ask her first, okay?" Demi did a small victory hop before inching closer to the girl with pink hair. "Can I give you a hug?" It was easy to see that this particular Digimon love to give and receive hugs just with his wide smile and sparkles in his large blue eyes. "Please?" Desmond removed his hand from his head for them to hug if they would do it. The adult would stay still for a bit longer before looking around them. There were a few people walking by but no one seemed to mind them right now.
After a second of awkward silence from the blond, he then looked at Honoka and then bowed also. "Sorry, I'm Desmond, Desmond Edmund. Nice to meet you." The man would then reach out inside his pockets and brought out his own dark green and brown Digivice. It wasn't the same model as she had though, so it most likely didn't help her anyway. "That is a Digivice." He said in a neutral tone. He showed her to take a good peek at it. "Yours is a bit different but if you found one, then it means that you are one of us." He didn't realize right away that he kind of made it sound like it was some kind of a cult. "I mean, only a very few people have a Digivice." He placed his Digivice back into his pockets before pointing at her pink one.
"I think that this one means that you are a spirit user if my memory is good." Again, most likely made no sense at all but he was trying to explain it as best as he could. "It's... Complicated." He admitted as he went to scratch his head again. "Maybe we could talk about it somewhere else?" He then proposed as he looked around him once more. This place of Shibuya didn't have the best reputation. "Mind if we walk?"
It was then that he realized that no one would follow a stranger just like that. Especially one that talks about Digivices and spirit users. "I mean, I rather talk about it somewhere with less people around..." And that sounded creepy as well. "I promise I'm not going to touch you in any way." He quickly said with embarrassment. Demi began giggling as he saw his tamer blushing. "I can hold your hand!" He said out loud. Desmond sighed heavily and looked up. "Actually... Why are you here? Do you live around here?" And then, he just saw that she was wearing a school outfit. "Or have someplace to be?"

"Oh! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to offend you!" Honoka gave a short bow in apology. Then Demi showed her his glasses. Even at a glance they didn't look similar, but she could see the pride the little boy had in them. So she accompanied her smile with a giggle and nodded. "I see! If you two were the same height, I wouldn't be able to tell the two of you apart!"
The child then offered the young woman a hug, something that Honoka was a little pensive about. She was still a little damp from the dirty puddle water earlier. But, looking at the child's boots, she guessed that she wouldn't mind. She embraced the child for a gentle, but brief hug, silently pondering the rollercoaster of the morning she was having. When they parted, she saw Desmond introduce himself and then displayed his own device that he called a Digivice. They didn't look that similar. Well... the screens looked the same, at least.
Then he started to go on about things the teenage girl didn't quite understand. Something about spirits, and Digivices, and being special, or something. He then made a rather... awkward offer to explain things further. "Ah... that's, no... I don't mind..." She replied, her face reddening as well. Then her eyes snapped wide open at her choice of words. "I meant that I don't mind if we keep talking! Definitely not that other thing!"
His little brother was pleasant enough, but something seemed a little off about Desmond himself. He definitely seemed nice enough, but the things he was saying just sounded... weird. What was so secretive that he couldn't just say it in public? Regardless, he began to inquire more about her, but she felt it better to avoid the more personal details. "Well... I was on my way to the station, but I got... sidetracked by stuff..." She turned back to the tree where she swung around upside down for no real reason. "But I could ask you the same question, Desmond-san... You don't seem like you're from around here, and this probably isn't the best place to bring..." She tilted her head towards the happy-go-lucky child. She knew it wasn't really any of her business, but she couldn't help but ask.

Demi was all smile when Honoka told him that he looked a lot like his tamer. As the young woman accepted his hug, the Digimon rubbed his face into her clothing and giggled. "You smell like flowers!" He said out loud before letting go of the girl. "You should smell her too, Desmond!" The Frenchman sighed and shook his head. "No, Demi. I won't go smelling her." He knew that Demi wasn't trying to be rude or anything, he was just very excited about meeting new people. Still, the young boy was still smiling and couldn't stay still for more than a few seconds as he began jumping up and down right next to the two humans.
"Oh, I'm from Paris, but I've been living in Downtown Shibuya for maybe three years now, maybe more now that I think of it." Desmond said as he readjusted his glasses. "Yeah, I still have a bit of an accent." He admitted as Honoka titled her head toward Demi. "I do have to say that I didn't really want to come here but Demi was chasing after puddles of water to jump in it. One led to another and here we are." It was then that he realized that he didn't exactly know his way out of here. He has been here before but he wasn't completely sure of where he was exactly.
"We can go to the station if you don't mind?" He proposed softly with Demi now hopping around the girl. She seemed like she knew where she was going so might as well let her guide them to the station. "What do you think, Demi?" Desmond then asked his little partner. "Is there food there?" He quickly asked as he stopped jumping. His eyes were very big and his smile was even bigger. The blond tamer nodded and smiled a bit. "I'm sure there must be a vending machine somewhere in there." The Digimon threw his arms into the air and went to hug the human. "Yay! Food!"
Desmond gave Demi a soft pat on the head before pointing in a random direction. "Is the station that way?" He didn't want to look like he knew the way around. "Or that way?" He said before pointing in the opposite direction. Both Demi and Desmond would wait for Honoka to guide them before talking a bit more about why she found a Digivice. Demi would extend his hand toward the young woman and asked her a question. "Can I hold your hand?" He asked cheerfully.
"I'm not sure of how many people have a Digivice..." He admitted with honesty. "I know a few of them and we all seemed to have a Digivice that are quite colorful, to say the least." Well, his was a bit darker in color but anyway. "I got mine from my laptop. It just came out of the screen. At first, I didn't know what it was and even tried to pry it open but that thing is made of something very tough." He paused for a second to think about what he should tell her next. "That device means that you are someone that can have access to the... Digital World..." It always sounded like crazy talk every time he tried to explain it to someone new. "It's like our world, but erm... Well, different." He paused for another second before trying to explain more.
"In the Digital World, there are beings that are called Digimon." Upon saying that, he pointed to Demi. "Demi is one of them." And here comes the crazier part of it. "He is not a human, he is in a... Holosuit, that makes him look human. I can show you what he looks like later." The Digimon nodded. "I'm a Digimon!" He said out loud. "So yeah... I know I sound like I'm making it up as we go but trust me, I am telling the truth." After that, Desmond would wait for fo Honoka to ask questions about anything he just said while slowly getting to the station.

"Ah, you've got a good nose, Demi-chan! That's because I work part-time at my family's flower shop!" Honoka explained to the child, regarding her smell. She gave Desmond a nervous glance upon Demi's recommendation to smell her, though. She probably would have let him do it, though she definitely would have been uncomfortable. She was glad that he turned down the child's offer. Still, the child's exuberance was comforting to the young woman. It reminded her of the times before her lessons began to get serious, where she could just dance and sing as much as she wanted without anyone's expectations. She stared off for a second, a sad smile taking over her lips before she snapped out of it.
Desmond went on to explain how he and Demi arrived in the neighborhood, and listened in as he discussed traveling with her to the station. Desmond seemed to placate his little brother with the promise of food. He then asked what direction the train station was in the first place, and it was clear to Honoka that he didn't seem to fully know where he was. Honoka liked Desmond and absolutely adored Demi, but the man was saying some fairly strange things that were bothering her. Still... she couldn't just leave these two to wander in this part of town by themselves. Especially when a defenseless child was involved. So, when Demi offered her his hand her smile brightened as she gently grasped it.
"You're not too far from the housing district, but the station is this way," She answered, guiding the pair as they began their walk. As they did, Desmond began saying strange things again. About Digivices, and how they apparently come from... computers? And that they accessed something called the Digital World. It seemed like he was having a tough time properly explaining it, but it wasn't like Honoka could just help him along. The man was practically nonsense! But still, she was starting to get an idea.
Honoka honestly didn't know too much about computers, honestly. Other than to watch online music videos and gymnastic routines for inspiration, she never spent much time on them. Her brother Eiji was the one to take a look at her computer when things seemed to go wrong. He would probably know something about this Digital World and Digivices.
But then he started saying even stranger things. Like creatures called Digimon. Then he gestured to the little boy as a Digimon, and the child confirmed it. She was dumbfounded at this revelation, but after a second she thought she understood. "Oh... I see... Well, if that's what this is about, I'm afraid I'm not interested," She tried to let the man down as gently as possible. "I've got gymnastics, and my job, and I'm still a student, so I don't really have any time for computer games... But I don't think it's a bad hobby or anything! It's just not quite for me!" She glanced down at the device she was holding in her hand. They were more Eiji's thing, so maybe he would want to have this.
She shook her head. No, just because it hit her in the head doesn't mean it belonged to her. She didn't have time this morning, but after school she would try and turn this into the police station, just in case someone reported it missing.

Desmond took a deep breath upon hearing Honoka telling him that she wasn't interested in computer games. It was probably his fault for not explaining it correctly. He began scratching the back of his head once more and looking at Demi who was still smiling broadly. The blond tamer was trying to find a way to tell her that it wasn't a game at all but something very real. But then, maybe she didn't have to go to the Digital World even if she got a Digivice. To be honest, he didn't know what to say right now so just stood silent for a perhaps awkward moment.
"Desmond!" Demi then shouted. "We should show her!" The Frenchman wasn't too sure about it. He didn't want to force the girl to visit the Digital World but that could be the best way to convince her that she was chosen by whoever gave them a Digivice for the first time. After a second of thinking, Desmond sighed and took out his Digivice. They were in the train station so they could get aboard the Trailmon and take her to the Digital world for her to see what it really is. Maybe she would change her mind then. He pressed a button on the green and brown device and a small blue dot appeared on the screen.
"Well, Honoka, how about we take you to the Digital World?" He asked slowly. He didn't want to sound like they wanted to kidnap her or anything, even if it did kind of sounded that way. "That way, you can see it for yourself and if you don't like it, we will get you back here with any questions." Demi began poking Honoka's Digivice and giggled. "Come with us!" He said joyfully. "It will be fun!" The Digimon in disguise really wanted her to come to see his world. He also wanted to know what kind of Digimon she will get for a partner. Meeting more people was always fun for the little boy.
Desmond would then wait for her to say yes or no hoping that she would agree. "There's a special... Train in this station." He knew that the more he said, the crazier he sounded. "It's hidden but can be revealed with our Digivice." He showed Honoka his Digivice once more so that she could see the blue dot. "If we follow it, we will get into a hidden part of the station and there will be a special train that will get us to the Digital World."
"Again, if you change your mind at any time, I will get you back here and you can forget everything that happened and go own with your life." The tamer clarified before making a step toward where the blue dot was pointing to. Demi would go in front of Honoka with sparkling eyes. "Please, please, please!" He said while looking up at the girl with pink hair. "There's food there as well!"

Honoka watched as Desmond stood awkwardly until Demi's urging. Then she saw him pull out the Digivice-thingy of hi own, offering to take her to the Digital World... even though she just expressed her disinterest in those kinds off stuff. Still, he was basically asking Honoka to have an open mind and take the time to go to this Digital World.
He started talking about some strange stuff, like special trains and parts of the train station that no one but people with Digivices only knew about. It all sounded crazy to the girl. She knew that there were some pretty fanatic gamers out there, but there's no way a train station would agree to close off a section just so they had a place to play their games. Things... weren't adding up anymore. Were her initial assumptions wrong? If so, why hadn't he spoken up about that?
And the way he and Demi were urging to take her to this "Digital World" seemed suspicious as well. It's like they were trying fairly hard to get her to go yet still making it seem like it was her decision. Like it was something for her own good. As adorable as his brother was, Honoka was truly beginning to mistrust this quiet man with the blond hair.
But at the same time... it all sounded interesting. Desmond was making it out to be some fantastical place, and it would no doubt fail to meet some expectations, but Honoka would be lying if she were to say that she wasn't curious. Desmond was definitely shady, but Honoka was quick on her feet. Even if he was a creep, he wouldn't try anything on a public train. One well-placed kick and she could easily make her escape.
So even though she was supposed to be in class, even though she knew it was most likely a terrible idea, Honoka nodded to Demi as he started pleading with her and promising there would be food. "Well I did skip breakfast this morning, Demi-chan! I'll go with you, if only for a little bit, okay?"

Demi jumped into the air with joy when Honoka accepted to go with them to the Digital World. "It will be fun!" He promised the girl with pink hair. The Digimon in disguise would try to go for another hug but managed to stop himself midway before taking a step back. He was still smiling though and also giggling. It was very easy to see that he was more than happy about Honoka's decision. He quickly spun around and made a small hop toward Desmond and hugged the tamer's long legs. "She said yes! She said yes!" Desmond sighed and gave a soft pat on the Digimon's head. "Yes, I know, Demi." He said as he waited for the young boy to release his legs which he would do after a few seconds.
The Frenchman took another look at his Digivice and then pointed at one direction with his finger. "Alright, this way." He slowly said to make sure that he was reading it right. "Oh and the train is also a Digimon..." Again, he knew how crazy he sounds whenever he uses the Digimon's terminology. Hopefully, it would all make sense as Honoka would get to the Digital World. It wouldn't take very long for the trio to find the secret location and there they were, in front of a blue Trailmon and his wagons. The train Digimon made a hooting sound and winked to the trio.
Desmond would stand there for a second to see how Honoka would react upon seeing that the train was alive. "That is Trailmon, there's many of them so you never know which one is which." Demi ran to the Trailmon and began poking the exterior of the train Digimon. "Hi! Hi!" He said out loud making Trailmon hoot once more. "So yeah, that is a Digimon." The blond tamer would wait a bit longer before pointing to the closest wagon. "Whenever you are ready, Honoka." He said with a small smile on which face. "Trailmon will get us to Terminal City. Which is the largest city of the Digital World, If I'm not wrong. You'll see."
The adult would let the young lady decide if she would still follow them or not into their adventure to Terminal City. He would also let her choose which wagon to sit in. They were all the same so it didn't matter but letting her pick one might make her safer. Desmond wasn't in a hurry anyway and also knew that once in the Digital World, time slows down so if she would want to come back in their world, it will be like they were gone for mere minutes.
After poking the Train Digimon a few more times, Demi would go near Honoka and run in a small circle around her. "Wheeeeeee!" The difference in expressions of the young boy and his tamer was quite drastic but they were both excited to show the girl the Digital World. "Calm down, Demi." Desmond said softly. The Digimon nodded but quickly got in front of the young lady and asked a question. "Can I sit next to you?" He asked with his large blue eyes. "Please, please, please!"

Honoka giggled for a second once she saw the boy's excitement. He was a little bundle of energy without a care in the world and she just couldn't help but marvel at it. Even more so, she couldn't help but marvel at Desmond's immaculate patience for dealing with and even containing all that energy Demi put out.
Desmond led her through the station, arriving in front of a large blue train... with eyes. It looked like some kind of character in a children's show, and for a second Honoka thought it was about to ask them how their morning was going. But of course that would never happen! Instead, it just gave them a wink and made hooting noises. "Y-you're telling me that this train is... alive!?" She looked over towards the blue metal creature and it just winked at her once more. She didn't quite know how to properly respond to this... new information so she simply gave it a polite curtsy. "H-how do you do, Trailmon-san?" Why she picked a curtsy over a simple bow was beyond her at the moment, though, she supposed, things were so alien to her at the moment that it just seemed like the right thing to do.
It looked like it was Honoka's choice to decide which cart to pick, but she was so flabbergasted at the moment that she just picked the nearest one. A living, possibly breathing train. In a super-secret part of the subway. That was supposedly taking them to a strange, Digital World. Things couldn't get any weirder.
Things got weirder the moment Honoka, Desmond, and Demi stepped inside the cart. She wasn't sure what she was expecting, honestly. But it definitely wasn't the passengers of this train. Honoka was used to crowded trains before, but this wasn't a crowded train at all. This looked more like some bizarre zoo.
There was a trio of three creatures. One was a purple reptile with a large spike coming out of the back of its head and small, bat-like wings. A second was a small black bear with belts wrapped around its claws and a backwards-facing cap. The third was the most humanoid of the bunch; a dark-skinned child with no shirt, but crimson pants and sharp claws on the ends of his feet. The trio gave the group a momentary glance before talking amongst themselves loudly, like a group of schoolboys teasing each other.
A lone yellow-furred fox-creature sat across from the trio of monster boys. Its fur was tussled and torn, but it looked otherwise healthy. It seemed to notice Honoka staring at it, and gave the girl an fierce glare until she decided to look away. Honoka guessed she wouldn't like being stared at by a stranger on the bus, either.
A strange mechanical creature sat further down from the yellow fox creature. It's entire body seemed to be made up of gears as it registered that Honoka, Desmond, and Demi were now passengers and then it looked away, as if to dispassionately mind its own business.
The only other remaining passenger was slightly larger than most of the others. It looked like some kind of rodent... Honoka couldn't quite remember what it was called. Prairie something-or-other? Regardless, despite its cute appearance, at the ends of its ears and claws were long, metal blades. Noticing Honoka's attention, it gave the girl a friendly smile as it waved at her. With its sharp fingers that looked like it could slice the little girl into ribbons. Honoka didn't return the wave, choosing to instead quickly find a seat. Desmond sat down next with Demi in between the two.
Despite picking a window seat, Honoka couldn't even bring herself to look out the window the entire, short trip. Instead, she tried to keep the other passengers in the corner of her eye, too afraid to make eye contact. She sat with her hands clutching her knees, her body language closing herself off from her environment. In only a few minutes the Trailmon arrived at its destination. The other passengers had exited the cart, but Honoka seemed too distorted by her strange surroundings to properly grasp the situation.

Desmond stayed silent as Honoka picked the cart in which they would sit in. Demi was all smile and would wave at every other Digimon they would come across. Some of them would wave back at him making him giggle in happiness. The blond tamer, however, did not smile at all, he just simply kept his attention on the younger girl who seemed to be quite nervous now that she was surrounded by Digimon. The human could understand why she felt that way, some of those other passengers didn't look friendly at all. Which is fair seeing that not every Digimon liked the presence of humans. Demi was quite happy to sit between the two humans. He would rest his head a bit toward Honoka for a moment and then do the same on Desmond. None the less, The trio sat down and waited for the Trailmon to take them into the Digital World.
As they arrived at the Terminal station, Desmond didn't stand up right away. He looked at Honoka who clearly did not enjoy the ride as much as Demi did. The little Digimon in disguise also waited for the girl to do something before making a quick hop off the seat they were in. He would take a small step on the side to be in front of his new friend and saw that she didn't look well. His smile slowly disappeared as he tried to poke her on her knee. "Are you okay?" He asked with concern. He had no idea why she was feeling that way, unlike his tamer. The Frenchman would stay still for a little longer before standing up. "We should go out before the Trailmon gets moving again." He said before taking a few steps toward the exit.
The Digimon nodded at his tamer and extended his hand toward Honoka. "Let's go together!" He said with as his eyes lit up. The young boy would patiently wait for Honoka to grab his hand or not and make his way out of the cart. Desmond would already be outside by now and looking around for a vending machine. They were actually quite easy to spot because of their size and lots of lit-up panels. The blond tamer waited for the two others to come to him before pointing at the nearest vending machine making Demi jump a few times. "Can we go there?" He asked with his sparkling blue eyes. "Please, please, please!"
"Yes you can, Demi." And with that, the Digimon ran toward the machine and look at what he could eat. There were a few snacks of various colors but it was a big chocolate bar that caught his attention. Demi couldn't contain his excitement, maybe Desmond would give him two of them if he asks politely. Turning toward the two humans, the young boy would tap at the screen with one finger while waving frantically with his other hand. "There's chocolate!" He said out loud. "Give us a second, Demi." Desmond said as he got closer to Honoka.
"Are you feeling alright?" The Frenchman asked Honoka with a hint of concern. "I know that it is, different?" He wasn't sure of the right words to say. "Don't worry, we are safe here." Waiting for the girl to react and maybe tell him how she felt about seeing so many Digimon at once. "How about we get some chocolate and sit down?" He then proposed as he heard Demi shouting again. "There's chocolate!" Desmond sighed and pointed to a bench nearby. "Unless you want to get some air?"

The only solace Honoka could find during her brief, yet all-too-long ride to a strange new world was the little disguised Digimon sitting in between the girl and Desmond. The fact that he couldn't sit still made her realize that things were practically normal. Perhaps some sort of strange creatures were giving her a dirty look, but she managed to rationalize things for a second. Perhaps to them, she was still a strange creature.
Still, Honoka was lost in her thoughts and fears for a while until she felt Demi poking her. "Y-yeah! I just... don't feel well when I'm inside vehicles, is all!" She gave the boy a smile. A sad smile, but it was all she could put forth at the moment. It was true that she felt uncomfortable in vehicles, seeing as when she was younger, her mother... But she had hoped that she would have moved on from that. Still, Desmond urged them to get a move-on, and the girl nodded, finally standing up.
She wasn't sure if her legs would have the strength to walk forward, but thankfully Demi held out his hand to her. She felt a little disappointed in herself for having to depend on a child for strength. But... apparently this child wasn't as ordinary as he seemed. Regardless, he was still so sweet. As they stepped out of the cart, before they met up with Desmond, Honoka had to stop to turn around. "Umm... I don't know if it's appropriate to say this or not, but thank you for the ride, Trailmon!" She said giving a short bow before catching up with her guide.
She was led to the vending machines, where Demi began asking for a large chocolate bar. Still, Desmond was there to comfort the alienated girl. She gave a polite smile, nodding. She was here, with a strange man she had met not even an hour ago, and his... secretly not-human little brother. She had no idea whether she was making a huge mistake, skipping class in order to be here, yet for some reason, she wasn't regretting it. "I try to avoid chocolate whenever possible," She tried to explain. "If I have just a little, I end up craving it all week, and I'm trying to maintain a healthy diet. But don't hold yourselves back on my account! You and Demi can have my share!" Plus, she really didn't want Desmond to buy her any food. It wasn't that she was particularly mistrusting of the man's motives at this point, but despite her destitution, her own pride wouldn't allow it.

Desmond left eyebrow lifted slightly into the air when Honoka told him that she tries to avoid chocolate. While he wasn't a huge admirer of that delicacy, he didn't expect a younger person like her to say that. "Well, I'm sure that there are other kinds of snacks if you want." He said before hearing his little partner shouting at them once more. "There's chocolate!" The Digimon was now jumping up and down as if he needed to do so to get their attention. The Frenchman sighed once more and lazily move his head to look at Demi with a neutral expression. "We are coming, Demi. Patience." He simply said, maybe not loud enough for the Digimon to have understood him. "Let's go meet him, he won't stop otherwise."
A small smile appeared on the tamer's face as he motioned Honoka to come with him with a simple hand gesture. His walking pace was quite slow making Demi wait for a bit before getting his chocolate bar. As the trio reunited around the vending machine, Desmond carefully looked at the screen for a quick moment. He wasn't hungry at all but maybe he could eat some chips. The flavors of the chips looked a bit weird though. There were a few kinds of meat flavor and some mushrooms ones as well. Maybe a chocolate bar would be safer. However, the tamer didn't have any say as Demi was now poking the screen excitedly. "This one!" He said with joy. "What do we say, Demi?" The human said before pressing the electronic pad to select the biggest chocolate bar there was in the vending machine. "Please!"
Desmond didn't get something for himself knowing that Demi would most likely ask if he could have a bite of whatever he would have picked. He did look at Honoka once more to make sure that she indeed didn't want anything. "Are you sure you don't want anything?"[/color] He softly asked. The large bar of chocolate fell down to an opening in the vending machine and Demi rushed his little hands toward it only to be stopped by his tamer. "What do we say after please?" The young boy looked at Desmond a bit confused for a second. "Oh! Thank you!" He proudly said. "Good, you can have it now." The human removed his hand for the Digimon to grab the chocolate bar and tried to open the wrapping which he managed to do within a few seconds.
"Don't eat it too fast, Demi." The blond tamer said as he turned his attention to Honoka. He simply looked at her without saying anything making it a bit awkward and then moved his head toward his partner. Demi was going to take a giant bite before seeing Desmond shake his head. The Digimon nodded and then took a smaller bite. The Frenchman would then turn his head around once more to look at the girl. "Do you need to sit down for a minute?" He asked her in a soft voice. "While Demi eats." He added shortly after. "Or we can go outside, I don't know what is the weather but maybe I can show you around Terminal City." He then suggested.
"Also, don't be shy if you feel like going home. I can make an erm, Digi-port back to our world at any time." He wanted Honoka to feel safe and not trapped inside a world filled with strange creatures with an older man and his partner. "If you have any questions or doubts, I'll do my best to answer them." Desmond then placed a pat on Demi's head. The Digimon was taking small bites and looked very happy. "Maybe Demi can show what he really looks like." The young boy looked at Honoka and began nodding very fast. "Or maybe we can wait until he is done with eating."

As Honoka walked with Desmond to the vending machines to meet an excited Demi, she once more refused, politely putting her hand up. "I really do appreciate it, but no thank you!" She had admittedly skipped breakfast, and was worried that her stomach would betray her, but she still held steadfast in her refusal. Besides, she still had her lunch on her if she really needed to eat. Desmond had gone out of his way to take her to this place in the first place. It's not like he was expecting to be someone's tour guide today... was he?
"Desmond-san... People with these..." She looked at her surroundings to make sure no one was paying any particular attention to them. No one seemed to be paying them any mind, so she briefly pulled out her newly-acquired Digivice before putting it away just as quickly. "These are relatively rare, right? So was our meeting really a coincidence?" It seemed strange for her to think otherwise. She wanted to trust Desmond, but the bizarre circumstances led her to grasp towards far more realistic situations. "Forgive me for suspecting you, but it just seems strange that the moment I find this thing, here you are to show me a whole new world I would have never believed existed otherwise..."
Demi got his chocolate bar and Honoka held up her finger. "Demi-chan, I can't eat chocolate, so you have to enjoy the taste for my sake as well, okay? Make sure to take your time eating it!" She gave the Digimon boy a wink and looked back to Desmond. He asked her if she needed to sit down or take a step outside, but she shook her head in response. "I'm fine right here. We can go outside once Demi-chan finishes eating."
Desmond mentioned something about a... Digit-port? Apparently it was something that could take her home immediately. It seemed far-fetched but Honoka was beginning to grasp that her standards of normalcy may not reflect reality as well as they did before this morning. Clearly he was doing his best to make sure she was as comfortable as she could be in this situation. If Desmond were truly unscrupulous then he was doing a phenomenal job at hiding it. If anything, he was being a perfect gentleman. "Thank you, but I don't think I have any questions right now. Or rather, I wouldn't know the first thing to ask. Perhaps if we looked around, I'll have something more concrete..."
Desmond mentioned something about Demi revealing his true form, and Honoka vaguely remembered he said Demi was actually a Digimon. It would make sense that he looked completely different, she guessed. Still, watching Demi excitedly scarf down the chocolate bar, she doubted that his appearance mattered too much. After all, no matter if he took a different form, it's not like his personality wouldn't change at all, right? "I'd like to see that, if Demi-chan is okay with that, of course..."
