A not so great start

Desmond didn't move at first when Honoka swiftly showed him her Digivice and put it away as fast. He could understand why she tried to hide it but the blond tamer took out his Digivice without hiding it. "It's okay, I'm pretty sure that every Digimon knows that any humans that come into their world have one." He said as he simply held it in his hand. "But yes, I met maybe, a dozen people that have one? Maybe less even." He wasn't so sure about the numbers. He knows that he did meet some that simply disappeared after their first meeting. "I know that there are more than only those I met in person. Mostly based on the fact that Digimon doesn't seem to be surprised when they see one." From what he saw, it was always the human that was surprised and not the Digimon.
"Although, you do have a good point." He then continued speaking but slower. "Meeting you in such circumstances was highly unlikely." The Frenchman would go scratching the back of his head for a moment. "Calling it a coincidence might be... I don't know. I don't really believe in a predestinated future of anything but it is a very, very strange coincidence." However, he did recall have seen that same situation before, with other tamers or spirit users that, just like Honoka, just got their Digivice. So maybe there are some greater plans for him to be some kind of guide for new Digidestined. Unfortunately, he did not know why he would be chosen to do that rather than, well, anyone else. He would however not tell Honoka about that.
Meanwhile, Demi was still munching on his bar of delicious chocolate. He was such a messy eater than he now had melted chocolate all over his mouth but he didn't seem to mind it at all. He just smiled and nodded as his tamer tried to reassure the girl that it could be just a big coincidence. The Digimon in disguise didn't really understand why Honoka looked a bit worried about this particular situation. Most likely because he only saw it it as something completely normal. Thus, he just continued eating the rest of his chocolate bar in silence while turning his head left and right to look at the two humans.
After a small moment of thinking, Desmond decided to tell Honoka about him meeting other humans that just received their Digivicre, minutes before meeting them. "I should tell you this, though." He began speaking after clearing his voice. "You are not the first one that I bring to the Digital World. Nor are you the first one that just happened to have found a Digivice by some kind of, big coincidence." He took a short pause to see if his words made Honoka uneasy or uncomfortable. "Sometimes, my Digivice points me to certain parts of this world or even our world. I never understood why it would do that, but in most cases, it is to meet another Digivice holder."
Demi was now mostly done eating and used the back of his hand to wipe the melted chocolate from his face before licking it clean. He had a very broad smile and hugged Desmond's legs. "Thank you!" He shouted as he rubbed his face on the pair of jeans. The blond tamer would give him a soft pat on the head before smiling shyly. "How about you show Honoka your Digimon form?" He then suggested. The Digimon did a small hop backward and nodded three times. The Frenchman lifted his Digivice and pressed a combination of buttons. Within seconds, Demi's young boy's body was engulfed in a soft flash of light, and then, here he was, in the form of a floating fireball with big blue eyes.
The DemiMeramon did a quick spin on himself to show Honoka what he really looked like. "Ta-dah!"
