Hiroshi had a point, no doubt; he seemed like a smart cookie, even though Katherine’s way of thinking was a lot more… straightforward
“Not my place to question any of that, I’m here to get the egg, not to wonder why it’s here.” Kinda curt and to the point, but was there anything that could potentially be said in a situation like this? She had made it more than obvious that it was unacceptable to leave the egg behind, so dwelling any more on it seemed beyond pointless.
In the end, it wasn’t like the whole deal mattered a lot, and the group of eight beings were underway. Neither Magnus or Akemi were all that sure on why they were being accompanied, but they weren’t going to question that. At the very least, it seemed like lightning wouldn’t be scarce! Given how much light the group was bringing, it might as well been noon rather than midnight.
As Katherine advanced forward, Magnus stopped on his tracks at the other human’s comment. Then gave him a blank look.
“The… what? What’s DATS supposed to be?” Blame it to be a newbie, but the guy had no idea what her peer was talking about.
Meanwhile, Akemi crouched after noticing something on the floor, she raised her hand, showing a rather dusty D-3 with a faded, orange pattern. “Is… is this anyone’s? Any of you dropped it?”
Quite the interesting discovery, in all honesty! What could a digivice do in the insides of a mausoleum, of all places? Maybe this group wasn’t truly alone in this small endeavor?

Apparently the other human had a partner also able of providing light making it easy for the eight of them to reach the bottom of the stairs. When they reached the bottom both twins looked around as if trying to locate the egg when they also caught sight of the unknown D3. "Hiroshi, that looks like a digivice used by tamers. Why would such a thing be down here?" It was clear the furry Shoutmon was indeed quite perplexed by the find as Leroy leaned down to get a better look.
"That's a good question, Leroy, but judging from appearance its been here for awhile." Hiroshi said as he tried to puzzle it out while continuing to look for the egg before glancing at his brother. "Come on, Leroy. The digivice can wait for a moment longer, I think we should find the egg first."
Listening to his twin, Leroy stood up with a huff and returned to looking for the egg. Then a strange thought came to his mind that he voiced aloud. "What if this egg has something to do with the digivice on the floor. The egg could be someone's partner."
Meanwhile the term DATS came up and it had Hiroshi's attention. Turning to Magnus, he said "I wish I knew what this DATS thing was. I guess it's some human thing. This is the first time Leroy and I have been to the Human World."

Things had been proceeding relatively peacefully and rather uneventfully for a while, but then, things had taken an abrupt turn when one of the two twins girls came upon a dusty D-3 with a faded orange pattern. The group had then coalesced around it, but while this was going on, the only other human in the group, aka Magnus, as well as the two male digimon twins, Hiroshi and Leroy, expressed confusion at Faustein's mention of DATS.
Oh my, seems as though my mention of DATS has been somewhat of a faux pas. Ah well, nothing can reverse my error, so perhaps it would be prudent to enlighten them.
With that thought in mind, Faustein first addressed Magnus and then Hiroshi, explaining briefly what DATS was, but also attempting to be careful about how he did so
"Well, it would suffice to say they are a kind of human world organization which has a mandate that directs it to...maintain the status quo, between humans and Digimon, that is...or so I have heard, anyway."
After that, he turned his attention to the D-3 as Leroy, the other of the two twins, was more focused on that for the moment
"Yes, I concur, we should definitely find this egg while setting the matter of the D-3 aside. After all, this find poses atleast two distinct possibilities, one of which is more worrisome than the other."
He mused aloud, while examining the old D-3, but then fell silent afterward and looked about the mausoleum to see if he could find any other clues which could aid them in their quest.

It was, indeed, one of the contraptions that the so-called ‘tamers’ used for various purposes. Truth was that its presence was most likely unimportant to the matters at hand, but that hadn’t deterred Akemi from asking about it. Mostly because she thought that somebody present had dropped it, and not that it was some old relic that had been in this place since God-knows-when.
At least it was a good thing that neither Hiroshi nor Leroy knew about these DATS-people either. All things considered, it seemed like a pretty secretive organization? The human’s explanation didn’t contribute a lot to their understanding about it, but at least it gave the trio more or less a general idea of what they were supposed to be, or why it was dangerous for them to do things like this at this time of the day.
“So… they’re like the digi-police or something? That sounds pretty interesting, even though I don’t know what they’d be doing in a place like this. Most people should kinda be sleeping at the moment, anyway.”
Maybe a little bit fearless, but it wasn’t like Magnus pretended to chicken out at the last moment, especially since the group was advancing down the mausoleum.
“Should be safe, right? Nobody’s here.”
That voice… that voice wasn’t anything the teenager had heard before. Sighing, he turned towards the other human was.
“Thought we told that wasn’t funny anymore, dude. Stop it.”
Little did he know that this time, it hadn’t been Faust.

Digi-police? Seemed rational to some degree considering that some digimon were violent. Hiroshi voiced both his and Leroy's concerns as he said "The status quo wouldn't be trying to keep digimon and humans separate would it? Not only are many digimon friendly but, from what Leroy and I have seen in the Digital World, a bond between a human and a digimon is usually mutually beneficial."
"Humans can be so weird." Leroy said with a shake of his head. "One would think humans wouldn't be against having friendly digimon around to keep violent ones in check."
"You seem to be an expert in that field, Leroy." Hiroshi said playfully teasing his twin brother knowing Leroy wouldn't try to hurt him.
"Just because I have trouble keeping my temper in check doesn't mean I'm a threat to society." Leroy said with a snort crossing his arms and turning away from his twin.
When the strange voice occurred both twins looked at Faust just as Magnus had and Leroy said "Seriously? One would think you would be old enough to know better."
Hiroshi shook his head his ears wiggling as he picked up the sound and said "I doubt it was him unless he can throw his voice."

During the coure of his ongoing interaction with the rest of the group, Faustein had heard Hiroshi voice his concerns about the overarching objective of DATS, so he mulled over it for several moments silently and then responded while stroking his chin with a pensive look on his face
"Perhaps, but from their perspective, or rather from a strictly objective one...both humans and digimon alike are inherently fallible systems which in turn means that there would be far too many variables to keep track of and control in this equation. Additionally, it would be far too inefficient to handle this particular phenomenon on a case by case basis. Therefore, in some strange sense, the most expedient course of action would be to enact the sort of plans that they may be having for the future of both worlds."
He paused to collect his thoughts and then resumed
"That said, your argument, admittedly does also have merit. However, it is best that we let the matter rest here and focus instead on the situation at hand."
Faustein had said and then had fallen silent while listening to the two male twins, Hiroshi and Leroy squabble, or rather Hiroshi tease his twin Leroy and Leroy huffing and retorting to counter the playful accusation made by his twin. Faustein was about to add something more to the discussion when, seemingly out of nowhere, a disembodied voice seemed to speak asking whether it was alright and remarking that there was no one there. Upon hearing this voice, just as Magnus had done, Faustein also looked about in an attempt to detect the source of the voice, but of course could not perceive anything or anyone that could be the source. Furthermore, it did not seem as though it could have originated from any of the group, so for now Faustein simply decided to be vigilant and wait for the situation to develop further. Unfortunately, the rest of the group, or rather...Magnus and the two male twins, Hiroshi and Leroy, accused him of attempting vocal projection in order to presumably scare them again.
"Well, seriously, a da Vinci man though I may be, even I am not fortunate enough to possess such a remarkable skill as ventriloquism. That said, I would most certainly want to learn it if ever the chance and the means were to present themselves to me."
With that said, he fell silent once more and resumed his vigilant wait for the source of the voice to sound once again.

The situation was, without a shadow of doubt, a pretty interesting one. Breaking into private property in the dead of night was, on itself, not so bad. What was making everything a lot dicier was the fact that Magnus and the twins’ company was composed of… quite the personalities, all things considered.
The deal about the digi-police, as interesting as it was, probably didn’t affect the group’s performance at the moment. Chances of them being caught weren’t very high at the moment, and honestly, neither of the trio’s priorities at the moment. Faust and the brothers were free to chat about that to their heart’s content. That was for sure.
The matter at hand, however, was a pretty interesting one, and living proof of how a bad first impression had lent itself to make Faust the victim of an accusation he wasn’t guilty of. Which, mind you, wasn’t a very nice thing to do, and would probably be worthy of an apology.
Not from Katherine, it seemed! “Humility might be missing from that long list of talents as well.” While a pretty opportune snip in her stead, nothing of that had to do with the matter at hand.
“In any case… if this guy wasn’t the one who did that, then who did it?” Real questions right there. The answer? At least for the time being, nobody would answer.
“The egg is on the lower level, by the way. You should go there.” A short giggle followed that statement, and that followed by Magnus’ gaze shifting through everyone else present.
“Yup. It seems we have company. Anyone here knows how to communicate with a potential spirit?” At least Akemi and Katherine remained silent. “I guess that, unless any of you has any ideas, we’ll just follow the voice. What’s the worst that can happen?”
Certainly a lot, even though the brunette himself didn’t seem too worried about it.

"Humility is one way my impulsive and hotheaded brother seems to be ahead of you. Otherwise he's a pain in my butt." Hiroshi said as he locked his gaze on the human with white hair.
Before his twin could say anything to counter Hiroshi the disembodied voice told the group to head to the lower level. Clutching his microphone tightly in his paws, he said "Something about that voice makes me uneasy everyone." It was Magnus' question of 'What's the worst that could happen.' made the urge to facepalm strong for both Hiroshi and Leroy strong but both boys were able to resist the strong urge.
"If the egg is in the lower levels I think we all should be on guard as we head down there, just in case. Like my brother, I don't completely trust that voice." Hiroshi said calmly. He didn't blame Leroy for his tightened grip on his microphone. Said furry dragon's grip was now so tight he would have been white knuckling if his skin was visible under his fur.

Faustein had chuckled when he heard both Katherine and Hiroshi accuse him of hubris and had responded with a shrug and a smirk while retorting "Yes, vanity is a weakness indeed. But pride— where there is a real superiority of mind, pride will be always under good regulation."These were not his words, of course, for what he was doing was actually quoting from the lines said by one of the main characters of the famous novel, " Pride and Prejudice", which had been writted by a female author named " Jane Austen". Then, he paused to collect his thoughts about the present situation and then resumed "Enough about me, though, perhaps it is more prudent to..."He had been about to proceed but then trailed off as he and others heard the disembodied voice urge them to proceed to the lower levels of the mausoleum since the egg they were in search of was allegedly there. Then, the only other human in the group, aka Magnus, asked the group at large as to who or what was the source of the voice since it was now more or less established that Faustein was not the culprit behind it. Then, he had studied the group carefully before remarking that they were in the presence of what seemed to be a spirit and then asked if any of them had the means to communicate with spirits and then determined the course of action for the group as following the voice's guidance to the end. In response, the two male twin digimon, Hiroshi and Leroy had chimed in, remarking that they did not trust the voice and that the group ought to be careful whilst following the voice's directions to head down to the lower levels of the mausoleum. "Well, perhaps if any of you have the ability to digivolve into a Bakemon or perhaps a Phantomon or even a Witchmon, that would surely be sufficient in order to establish contact with the source of this voice."Then, Faustein looked about for several minutes silently as he tried to detect any sort of staircase that would lead the group down to the lower levels, and after seeing one that seemed to do just that, he turned to the others, suggesting and pointing towards the staircase "There does seem to be a staircase leading downwards over yonder, so perhaps we ought to avail ourselves of its use? Naturally, with caution guiding each of our actions henceforth, of course."Then, he fell silent and waited to witness the group's reactions and responses to him, all the while wondering where exactly this graveyard shift would ultimately lead them all.

It was probably for the absolute best to ignore whatever the guy over there was rambling about and focus on the task at hand. It was pretty late at night, and neither the twins nor Magnus were really in the mood to entertain grandiloquent sentences of dubious significance.
One thing was for certain, though. The stairs that led deeper down the mausoleum were at plain sight, and the voice that haunted this building had suggested the group to take it. What other choice did they have, but to follow it? In all fairness, there were many possible options, but none of them seemed like they could lead the group anywhere.
Magnus led the way, slowly descending until he arrived on yet another floor. This one was less imposing than the last room, and it was certainly more crypt-like than its predecessor. He could observe a variety of plates in front of a collection of caskets, and that was enough to give him the chills already. The faster they got away from this place, the better.
It took him a bit, but he was able to sense movement in one of the nearby funeral urns. Almost as if the thing was vibrating at the moment. He began to go in its direction and found that his suspicions were correctly. Th biggest of a collection of vases was shaking, almost as if it had life on its own. If that wasn’t a dead giveaway, the guy wasn’t sure what could it be.
“Should we break it? I have no issues with breaking into a private property, but that sounds like it’s a bit much.”
Akemi and Katherine were staring around, curious on the places where they had ended. Maybe they had missed something? That was a possibility; not to say that the voice that had guided them to this place was oddly silent now.
What would the others think about this?

Hiroshi and Leroy stared at Faustein as if he seemed to begin rambling nonsensically. Shaking his head, Leroy said "What's with your nonsense about digivolving? Neither my brother or I have evolved to the champion level yet so we don't know what we'll evolve to. For all I know we could both digivolve into bunnies but that's not important right now."
Hiroshi watched as Leroy then rolled his eyes and the group headed deeper into the mausoleum the scaly Cutemon's ears wiggled as he listened for the disembodied voice that had yet to say anything else. Despite that Leroy was still in a defensive mode cause he hadn't loosened his grip on his microphone in the slightest. The movement of the funeral urn had both Hiroshi and Leroy glancing at it curiously. When suggested that the urn be broken, Hiroshi said "I doubt breaking it is necessary. Maybe we should try lifting the urn to see what's inside. There should be more than enough of us to do so."

Faustein had sighed when he saw that no one picked up on his reference and had sighed even more when he heard the male digimon twins' retort since his digivolution idea was not feasible and also insane. After all, he had merely been speculating about methods to answer the problem of establish contact with the allegedly disembodied voice which they had heard a few times by then. He had never actually assumed anything about the surrounding digimon's digivolution stages at all.
Oh well, perhaps we simply do not have the tools necessary to rise to the occasion.
Faustein had thought silently and then waited for the group to reach a consensus about going down the staircase. Needless to say, this happened fairly soon as the other human in the group, aka the male teenager with the two digimon disguised as human girls, led the way down the staircase till they reached some sort of a crypt. This room had several caskets with plates in front of them and to be honest Faustein was fascinated with them, though it did not show that on his face since he made sure to keep it carefully blank and inscrutable. However, there was another feature of interest to be examined in this crypt, and that was a series of urns with one among them apparently vibrating as though it was alive or rather, had something moving inside it. So, Faustein watched as the other human in the group went over to it and upon examining it, heard him suggest breaking the urn. In response, Hiroshi the Cutemon suggested that they simply lift the urn and see what was inside it and that there were more then enough members of this party to accomplish that. So Faustein nodded, adding his two cents in
"Yes, that is probably the best option, as it would be prudent to leave as little trace of our presence and activities here as possible to avoid any future problems."
Then, he fell silent and waited for the situation to proceed in whatever direction it would from there.

It was indeed a pretty complex situation. Was breaking a vase for an egg the correct choice? Magnus could only wonder what kind of sentimental value this place had for the people who cared for it. What is fine to smash that?
He stood there, deep in thought while Akemi and Katherine stared at him. What was the right thing to do there? Surprisingly enough, it was Hiroshi’s idea what seemed to make the most sense here. Maybe they didn’t have to break the vase to get what they wanted.
“That’s pretty smart.” Katherine piped in. “I think we all should be able to lift the vase. Maybe we’ll get a chance to better inspect it if we lower it down a bit.”
Magnus nodded. That, indeed, sounded like a plan. “Alright. If everyone’s up to it, let’s try it.”
Both humans and digimon approached the vase and, after taking position, began trying to lift it. Would the rest help? Considering it was one of the other twins’ idea, that might as well happen.

Hiroshi and Leroy knew very little about human customs but understood the point of sentimentality. Though the vase would be heavy by human standards, with a group of mostly digimon working together such a large vase would be easier to deal with than a sparring match for these brothers. Moving in to assist Magnus and the female twins, Leroy said "Looks like it's time to show that dragon data is good for more than just fighting." Leroy set down his microphone before he cracked his knuckles and took ahold of the Vase and waited.
"Leroy, don't brag about our draconic strength and heritage. Not everyone finds that flattering." Hiroshi said with a sigh before moving in to help.
"Like I wanna brag about the other side of our data." Hiroshi said without loosing focus or even staring at his twin.
"Is it because you're afraid of being made fun of again? We're half dragon and half fairy. Who cares what others think?" Hiroshi asked.
"I care." Leroy muttered before continuing "I'm sick of others making fun of us. Sick of them calling us freaks."

Since the group's consensus had been reached, Faustein saw the others move towards the giant vase and start to lift it, so he too went over and caught hold of the vase, adding a little something more to the lifting power. As he did, he heard Hiroshi and Leroy talking about their genetic inheritance which was apparently part dragon and part fairy and how they wished that others would stop calling them freaks
"Half dragon and half fairy, eh? Hmm, if anything that makes you both unique and even more intriguing as indivduals, rather than a pair of anomalies...at the very least far more intriguing than any human, from my perspective anyway."
Then, he fell silent and continued to lift the giant and heavy vase/urn, being careful all the while to apply his strength evenly in relation to the others in the group so that the lifting force would not be unbalanced in its application to any one area. Slowly but surely, the vase/urn came up to eye level where either Magnus, the only other human in the group, or Faustein could look inside to see the contents of the vase/urn. However, since the expedition was primarily Magnus' idea, Faustein simply waited for him to begin his examination of the vase/urn's innards.
