"You shouldn't have said those things to her, KiKi..."
"No! SHE shouldn't have said those things to ME! She knows full damn well I have no idea how to do anything in this god-forsaken junk-hole. All I did was show her that I had no intention of conforming. And I told you to cut it with that 'kiki' crap!"
"She wasn't being mean to you."
"I-what? I know that! She's just...ugghh!! Why am I even having this argument with you, you talking strange cat-thing?!"
"I told you, KiKi! I'm a Digimon! My name is Pokomon!"
A very frustrated and relatively distraught Kiva stomped across the schoolyard quad. She had just been kicked out of her first class at her new school.Trigonometry had never been one of her favorite subjects, in fact, school in general had never been very high on her list. As a new student, Kiva wasn't in any mood to stand and be stared at while introducing herself before taking a seat. Instead she greeted the class with a heartfelt middle finger and threw herself in one of the empty desks in the back of the room. As expected, she wasn't exactly praised for her behavior. Kindly, her teacher asked that she reintroduce herself before finding her way to the door. She would be welcomed back into the classroom the next day. Since it was her first day as a transfer student, Kiva decided it would be in her best interest to comply. Besides, she had already shown her classmates who she was and what she was after. So after a quick "I'm Rakurai Kiva. Don't mess with me.", the white-haired firecracker slung her bag on one shoulder and stomped out of the room.
"Digimon or whatever the fuck. You're lucky you're cute or I'd deck ya doe calling me KiKi."
Pokomon was nicely situated inside Kiva's book bag, where no books would ever be found unless she needed them for a beat down. The little yellow digimon was enjoying himself while peeking up and looking up at his frustrated tamer. Pokomon had only just began life with this new friend, who happened to be right there when he hatched from his egg; the egg that hatched after falling from the sky and cracking on top of her thick skull. He was eager to learn whatever he could about her, she was a fascinating specimen...and a very angry one at that.
"Anyway, Pokomon is annoying to say."
Kiva gently hung the bag on the side of a vacant bench before flopping herself down, kicking up and crossing her legs, taking up the whole space.
"I'm gonna call you Styx, because you're like my pet, or something, right? Pets need names, especially if they can talk back to me. Speaking of which, try not to talk in public or anything...I don't want the damn PSIA, or whatever...after...us..."
Pulling her cap down over her eyes, Kiva decided to waste the rest of the school day carelessly sleeping...hoping something exciting would wake her up.
"Styx. I love it! I'm Styx, the digimon! And KiKi, my first friend~!"

That was one way to see the day begin. Someone getting kicked out of class on their very first day as a transfer student. Absolutely amazing, truthfully. Of course, the day went on as normal, with some whispers about the firecracker, but...
One would have to forgive Hisato Aizawa for being dreadfully curious as to what this girl's problem was.
So, the lunch break was probably the best time to set about trying to find...Kiva? Yes. That was her name. White hair...Was actually a pretty distinct way to identify someone at this school.
It didn't take long to find the lady as a result. "Hey. You know this is probably the -shittiest- idea you've ever had, right?" Scarab's (digital) voice could be heard from the D-3 in Hisato's pocket. "Honestly, I've seen dumber. Plus, today's boring as sin anyways."
"You aren't excuse from dumb shit just because you have a point. You don't -go- and try making something interesting, dude."
Either way, the teenager approached the bench upon which Kiva sat, and asked a -super- simple question. "Hey, holding up alright?"

Kiva made a noise that could only be described as a mixture of vomiting cat and hungry baby pig. The boy's voice woke her up in the middle of a soft snore and it escalated into something quite horrifying.
"Wh-what-who?"
After a few quick blinks while propping her sleepy-self back up, Kiva's eyes focused on her dreamworld assailant. The boy held himself well and had a look of sympathy in his eyes...maybe. Kiva had never been very good at reading people. She was more of a punch first, analyze later kind of girl. He was short, at least compared to Kiva - who was strangely tall for her nationality and gender. Nothing really stood out about him, and he seemed a bit like a drag, but she wasn't one to ignore curious minds.
"What does it look like? I was doing just fine before you made the stupid decision of waking me up! Now what the hell do you---AH!"
The inquiring teen let out a bit of a yelp as a pair of sharp, tiny, teeth sunk into her resting hand. Styx did the only thing he could to show his displeasure with her attitude while staying hidden inside the bag. The little fangs pulled out quickly and he scurried back to the bottom. Kiva sort of got the hint.
"Er...sorry, kind of. I was, er, just startled. I'm fine. I'm doing fine. Why do you want to know? Who are you?"
In an effort to save face, she crinkled up her nose and glared at the boy; crossing her arms and legs with an impatient demeanor.

“Have you heard of the new girl? Her name’s Rakurai. She, um, she ended up in my class.”
“Nah. What’s her deal?”
“Well, uh. Her attitude is a bit special. I guess she’s a bit… aggressive? Got kicked from class partly because of it.”
“I see. Well, g’luck with her? Maybe ya can become pals or somethin’.”
A pretty alarmed expression was enough of an answer to that offer, just as to sever the conversation that two acquaintances were having. Lunch break served as the ideal period of time to share gossip, and a new student with a fiery attitude was bound to be a part of the menu. Junko couldn’t bring herself to care a lot about the issue; as long as it didn’t affect her directly…
“Shinohara. Are you done with lunch?”
And maybe, just maybe, the teenager had succeeded at jinxing herself. Aqua eyes turned into an icy glare towards the smug female behind her. God, she hated that woman’s ugly mug.
“Whaddaya want, Yamada? I’m busy.”
“We need to talk for a bit. Come with me.” Long story short? The Student Council had taken note of the new student’s “antics” and had decided that, to prevent further incidents like today’s from happening, new girl was to visit the school counselor’s office. As soon as possible. Junko herself had been chosen as the person to make sure that happened; why? Not something that she would be told, even though it wasn’t hard to guess. The worst part is that if she refused —which had been her first option— she’d have to spend swimming practice in detention.
“What a load o’ crap.” She fumed in between deep breaths as she traversed the school’s corridors. “A buncha cowards, I swear.”
It was more than obvious that she had been chosen to be cannon fodder do the Council’s work because she wasn’t in Yamada’s good graces. Not a lot she could do about it at the moment, in all honesty, except for stoking the thought of getting back at that harpy eventually.
Thus, the search for the rogue firecracker began. All in all? It was surprisingly short. Searching the quad had been Juni’s first option; stumbling into the new girl and her newest acquaintance would be a matter of time from that point.
There they were; the aqua-haired girl approached the bench. Her eyes gave the boy a glance before focusing on new girl
“You’re Rakurai, right?” Guess the first step was making sure she got the right person. Weird hair colors were more common than one would think. “Ya owe the school counselor a visit. Record time, I’d say.”
Wise choice of words? Maybe not, but Junko was hardly a tactful person. Hopefully the direct approach would produce the fastest results.

The fuck just happened? It had honestly sounded like something else had occurred rather than simply Rakurai being startled. Hisato kept his hands in his pockets and blinked his eyes a few times.
"Just wondering, honestly. That was about the...literal fastest I've ever seen anyone get thrown out of a classroom. At all." Hisato didn't bother to mention the fact he came over here out of literal boredom. That'd be REALLY untactful! "Name's Hisato, nice to meet you." He had been about to ask 'Rakurai, right?' but an aqua-haired girl approached and asked that question for him.
...
A visit to the counselor already? "That's...probably another record, yeah." What, was Rakurai trying to set as many records as she could on her first day? Either way, Hisato didn't say much else at the moment. More curious as to how the firecracker here'd take the news.
"(Pssst. The hell did she yelp for?)" Scarab asked from the pocket. Something that got -no- answer.

Kiva's impatient presence relaxed as a smirk spread across her face. She threw her hands behind her head and leaned back, seemingly proud of herself all the sudden.
"That's right. Just call me 'Kiva the Record Setter'. I probably could have been kicked out even faster if I decked our Teach with one of my famous killer punches."
The boastful girl then started punching the air, fully aware that she was talking out of her ass. She wasn't one to draw attention from the police if she could help it, and assault charges were definitely something she wanted to avoid. However, she had captured this boy's attention and he was praising her, in some sort of twisted way that only she could see as praise. After flexing how quick her jabs were the boy presented his name. She couldn't be bothered to look back at him, as she was too busy focusing on where her fists were flying, but she still let out a response.
"Nice to meet ya, Hisato. I'm Kiva...Kiva the Record Set--?"
Her introduction was cut short by another nosy student. She stopped her jabbing and affixed her gaze on the new assailant. This time it was a girl with dazzling blue ...everything.
"Ehhh? The Counselor?!"
Kiva stood up and approached the girl, who was just a tiny bit shorter than her. Standing close, a smirk on her face, and fire in her eyes, Kiva crossed her arms.
"Look here, my good friend Hisato," she motioned toward Hisato, "and I were just about to hit up the cafeteria for some grub. If you're here to talk to me about my earlier outburst in class, blame low blood sugar. Or stress. Or something like that. It's hard movin' to a new school, ya'know?"
The firecracker lied through her teeth. Smooth talking wasn't the way she liked to take care of business but she was in a place where throwing punches wouldn't put her at any advantage. Plus, there was no honor in picking fights with unwilling opponents. She turned on her heels, grabbed her book bag, and slung an arm over Hisato's shoulders - a big goofy grin now spread across her attempt at an innocent looking face.
"Isn't that right, friend? After some good food it'll be like all that crazy shit that happened earlier didn't even happen. See Miss Blue, I'm not here to cause any trouble."
Another lie, but she was tired and this was the best copout she could come up with on the spot.
"Shall we get going, best friend?"
She lowered her voice and whispered in his ear.
"-Play along here and I'll show ya something cool, yeah?-"
"Ay ay ay...KiKi...HENSHIN!"
Both annoyed and entertained by his tamer's antics, Styx settled himself even deeper into her bag and quickly disguised himself as a book of similar size.

The situation at hand was pretty interesting. Junko expected that there’ll be at least some kind of resistance from this girl, so what happened next wasn’t really out of the ordinary. She crossed her arms in tow, then stared back, a fierce smirk already etched on her face. The fact that she despised Yamada didn’t mean she couldn’t have some fun doing this, she guessed.
“A good friend, huh?” Her eyes danced towards her slightly shorter peer. She wasn’t really interested in hearing excuses or empty promises, even though the opening to just eject herself from this situation was right in front of her. Of course she’d seize it!
Once Rakurai was done with her spiel, the facade was dropped and Junko proceeded to shrug with disinterest. “Good enough for me. I’ll jus’ tell that bitch Yamada that you’re his responsibility now.” A pause ensued. Probably the best for everyone involved, wasn’t it? “Do we have a deal, then?”
A hand was extended to seal the agreement. While the nickname ‘Miss Blue’ was decently cringy, she wasn’t as interested in introductions as she was in going back to minding her own business.
It was only then when she noticed a fourth voice that she hadn’t heard before, coming from… the newbie’s bag? Talk about weird, even though at least a single word was vaguely recognizable from it.
“Wouldn’t have thought we had a closet Kamen Rider fangirl over ‘ere. Shoulda paused the player or somethin’.”
Little did Junko know it wasn’t that type of Henshin. OOC: I wasn’t sure if italics were thoughts or actual words. Please correct me if I’m wrong, and I'll edit.

Alright, for what it was worth, this girl at least had what appeared to be a sense of humor about a stunt like that! Had to admit, though. Record Setter was a pretty snazzy title to get on your first day of school.
...Even if you had attained it via...y'know. Telling a teacher to eat shit.
Hisato was silent for a moment regarding the good friend stuff. Buuut...There was the nonzero chance they could actually go grab lunch. He kind of did shirk getting that to go bug Rakurai, after all.
A solid-sounding "Sure!" was what he decided to give back in response. He had the slight feeling that the blue-haired girl did NOT wish to be present or engaging in this conversation right now, and you know what?
Hisato could empathize with that. He looked to the bag at the mention of a 'HENSHIN!' ...That was indeed kind of weird, but it wasn't anything to really be worried about now, was it?
"Yeah, we've got a deal. It's...really nothing. Plus she can go visit the counselor at her leisure, right?" No trouble at all.
No sir.

((OOC: I use italics for 'thought speech' but I like what you did here, Yuu. Adds a fun touch! I changed the italics to normal and now it's as if Styx was just careless with his speech.))
--------------
Keeping cool under the pressure, Kiva squeezed Hisato a bit tighter; a somewhat threatening signal but also a sign of desperation and a plea for help. His acceptance came swift and his single worded response almost immediately lifted the burden and she loosened her grip.
"Yeah, see, H'Sato knows there's no need to rush! Now, we were just on our way..."
This guy was cool, even though his appearance was so bland. Hisato wasn't a total disappointment, and this gave her hope that others at the school would eventually be willing to play along with her whims. Kiva was about to turn on her heels, Hisato still locked in her arms, and take off, but her newest challenger had other plans.
Did she just say...bitch? Kiva's opinion of the blue authority changed. This girl clearly had some fire in her and wasn't just a drone sent by the school to wrangle up troublemakers. Yamada, huh? Well, well, well. She just became a bit more interesting...
Letting go of her death grip around the boy's shoulders, Kiva made her way over to the outstretched hand of her new...ally? Only time would tell, but Kiva knew she needed to start forming alliances if she ever needed backup. Hisato seemed like someone she could rely on for now, and allying yourself with someone close to the higher ups was always a good idea. With vigor, and the return of her signature smirk, Kiva grabbed her fellow student's hand to complete the deal.
"Heh, I like you Blue. Ya having problems with another student? Need any help taking down this Yamada chick?"
Before any answers could be given, a noticeable squeak rang out from Kiva's bag. One of Kiva's narrowed red eyes twitched as the blue-haired girl pointed it out.
"Ehhehehahaha! Y-ya totally got me. I'm a closet, uh, anime fan, yeah. Forgot to put my phone on silent, hahahaha! Crazy notifications, haha!"
The nervous teen leaned back and allowed her bag to fall from her shoulder to the ground. It hit with a loud 'THUD' - her attempt to punish Styx for being so loud. After hitting the ground the black bag slumped over and spilled some of its contents. A strange looking black and purple device slipped out alongside some other random items. The foreign object immediately drew Kiva's attention, mainly because she had no idea what it was or how it got there. Quickly, she bent over and swept it all back in, hoping nobody had seen it. It had been an odd couple days for one of Shibuya's newest residents.
"S-so yeah, wanna grab some lunch with H'Sato and me?"

OOC: Oh! Oops. Good thing it worked out in the end then. While the resolution of this situation was definitely one that Junko herself didn’t expect, everything had worked out on her favor; her not having to babysit the new girl and getting Yamada off her behind for a good while at the same time.
The two didn’t look like a match that’d last for long, but that happened to be none of her business. All's well that ends well, more or less!
Rakurai seemed to have changed her plans before the duo left the scene, however. The teenager hadn’t expected her hand to be shaken, and even less so to be inquired about Yamada. What could she be thinking?
Another shrug ensued; whatever it was, it wasn’t like her story was that big of a secret, anyway; only a newcomer couldn’t possibly know about it.
First things first, though.
“Name’s Shinohara, by the way. I don’t do tacky nicknames, jus’ so y’know.” Now, with that out of the way... “T’was the latest gossip before you arrived, but unless yer interested in a long story, the gist of it is that she used her influences as a member of the student council to get me out of a sticky situation and now insists on me owin’ her. Which is a fancy way of sayin’ that she’s coercin’ me into doin’ her dirty work.”
After a small pause, a more direct response to the white-haired girl was issued. “I can handle m’self. Dealt with people like her in the past. They jus’ crumble as soon as whatever power they think they hold over somebody poofs.”
Who’d have thought that being exposed as a closet tokusatsu fan would’ve have such an effect on Rakurai; maybe it was because it clashed with her tough girl persona? Junko could only guess as she observed the development with a bit of a suspicious expression. In the end, it wasn’t like that was something bad or anything. More surprising was the fact that she was invited to… hang out with them?
The implications of such a proposal could be thought for quite a bit of time… but that was too much of a hassle. The truth was that the teenager’s lunch had been interrupted, and that she didn’t have anything better to do at the moment. A bit of a cocky grin took over her features before she nodded.
“Sure, why not. Lessgo.”
It’d surely be interesting to see what would come out of that.

Pfft, H'sato? Okay, that was actually amusing! But there were far more interesting fish to fry here, that much was for certain. Because Hisato was about eighty to ninety percent sure that Rakurai and Shinohara were...
...
Very similar people with differentiating brands of colored hair.
"Sounds rough, but if you can deal with it, then it shouldn't be anything to be worried about, right?" In the meantime, Hisato's concealed partner (well, not really concealed, more 'stuck in the Digivice') raised a proverbial brow.
That was a weird denial. But he was a bug. In a digivice. Not his place! Hisato meanwhile shrugged. "At least you caught it, right?" Was it truth or lies? Who knew? "Yeah. Let's get going!" Okay, maybe he didn't intend to put this much pep into his words, but he still did point in the direction of the cafeteria.
'Really,' Scarab thought quietly.
Hopefully with all of this out of the way, the trio would be on their way.

Kiva's signature smirk widened into a big grin. Not only had she successfully dodged her way out of a meeting with the counselor, she also found some entertainment in the form of her new companions. It had been such a strange couple of days, after all; from getting used to a new city, school, and lifestyle to the introduction of weird talking cat-things. Lunch was normal, and she could use the opportunity to learn a little more about her new surroundings. Of course, 'normal' was not Kiva's style. No no, she had no intentions of keeping this lunch normal...she wanted to feel her heart race again, and that's when she decided she was going to show off Styx.
"Eh, I don't doubt it, Blue--er--Shinohara. I'm sure you can handle yourself just fine...but, ya'know, if ya need any back-up, I've been itching to get my hands dirty."
She laughed as if she was joking, but there was some truth to it. At this point, Kiva was waiting for an opportunity to prove who she was and what she could do at her new school. The firecracker's fuse was eager to be lit; she was ready to pop at a moment's notice...but she also knew that things like this took time. For now, she would focus on gaining knowledge and allies.
It didn't take long for Kiva to follow Hisato's gesture toward the cafeteria and she began walking that way. With a quick, and friendly, jab to his side Kiva made a strange attempt to thank him for going with the flow.
"Thank's H'Sato - I owe ya one!"
She winked one of her subtle red eyes at him before turning around and continuing a backwards march toward the cafeteria so she could talk to her new friends together.
"Hey, yeah, so like I was telling H'Sato not long ago, I've got something cool goin' on in my bag. I wanna show you guys, but ya gotta promise me you won't snitch and call the cops on me...okay??"
Was it a smart idea? Absolutely not, but Kiva's need for answers far outweighed her desire for security. Maybe this weird cat-thing was native to Shibuya? Maybe it was just a toy? She figured the two in front of her were much more educated than herself and had some kind of answer. She made the decision to show Styx to them and wasn't going to back down...besides, adding a little chaos to the mix was totally the Kiva-thing to do.

Hisato had more or less hit the nail in the head regarding her current situation, which prompted a bit of a smug smile to take over Junko’s face.
“No need t’worry. I can handle m’self perfectly.” She replied, addressing both teenagers. “Will keep the offer in mind if I ever need it, tho.” Her tone was lighthearted as well, even though the offering had probably been recognized.
In all honesty, she might make use of it at some point. Just not when she was trying to lay low. Would defeat the purpose of what was she doing, after all.
The group eventually reached the cafeteria and. With any luck, the aqua-haired girl would be able to continue her lunch in peace. And maybe carry out with the rest of her school day until clubs began. But, of course, Rakurai had other plans regarding their lunch time. It was kinda naive to think otherwise, in hindsight.
“What did ya bring?” Junko couldn’t help to ask. In all honesty, she was kinda curious, even though she could make an educated guess about the whole deal based on a simple phrase. “The cops, tho? Ya ain’t gonna tell me ya brought crazy shit like a weapon or drugs to school. I'd beat the shit outta ya m'self if ya did.”
Some things were just non-negotiable, even though, for everyone’s sakes, Juni hoped Kiva wasn’t that stupid. Things would get pretty messy if she was.

You know, if either Hisato or the bug in a digivice in his pocket were any dumber, they probably wouldn't have realized that maybe Kiva just plain old didn't want to meet the counselor. Which was a fair thing, truth be told. Guy was an asshole.
Plus, in the wake of whatever assorted school shenanigans this could be considered? Hisato found mildly friendly individuals that could likely floor someone if they had the chance to. Not bad. Not bad at all.
Hisato blinked a few times at Kiva. "You...do?" Did that really necessitate that? "...Alright, if you say so." No sense in opposing that. When they had gotten to the cafeteria, though, Kiva had stated something about having a cool thing in her bag that...required the simple act of not being a snitch?
"...Yeah, what'd you bring? Doubt you'd be crazy enough to bring anything like what Shinohara said." It didn't bear saying, but there was no way Hisato was about to stop Shinohara if that actually turned out to be the case. But, the question yet remained.
What lay within the bag?

"Naw, naw! Weapons are for scrubs!" Fists are all you need to make a good point!"
Kiva pounded a closed fist onto their table strong enough to cause a bit of liquid spillover but not enough to draw any unwanted attention. Before her spirit ultimately broke the flimsy table, she quickly grabbed her bag and unzipped with vigor. The brash teen could feel her friend's unequivocal excitement and curiosity. I bet they'll start calling me Rakurai, Beast Tamer...no no, Beastmaster!!
"Get ready to spit out ya Yakisoba gang! Right here, in my bag, sits a once-wild-now-tame alien creature! The battle between us was intense, but using m' strength 'n' cunnin' I was able to pacify the wild beast and make 'im my pet. I'm showin' ya because maybe you guys will know what he is since you've been in Shibuya, 'n all that. I don't want to get 'im confiscated by the cops though. He can turn into rocks and spit poison, but don't worry! He'll listen to me and won't hurt ya. So without further ado, here's--!"
After a lengthy introduction, Kiva finally flipped over her bag and emptied it's contents onto the middle of the table. Under a series of empty candy bar wrappers, crumbled up notes, uncapped pens, a few used bandages, Kiva's cell phone, and an accompanying strange purple device, sat only a large hardback book.
"E-eh?"
Kiva's confident facial expression twisted into one of shock and panic. This was troublesome for several reasons. Firstly, having a book like this would surely cripple her street-punk, bad-girl, reputation (a reputation she was still in the process of making). Secondly, WHERE THE HELL IS STYX?! The usual smooth-talking striker had to, once again, get herself out of a sticky situation. She built up so much anticipation her explanation had to be a good one. Shaking off her contorted face, she forced another smirk, one red eye twitching as her mind scattered through a thousand different excuses.
"Uh, yeah, this is it! A, uh, book with picture of that fierce alien battle and...nudes! Yeah, hot of the presses! I got a collection of dirt on all the faculty here! If ya ever need somethin' to get ya out of trouble, this is it!"
It was a horrible spin, but what was done was done. Before anyone could try to open the mysterious book, Kiva slammed her hand down onto the hardback cover, giving it a nice hard pat. As she did, discarded paper and plastic fluttered about as the strange purple device fell off the book and onto the wood of the tabletop below. Quietly, the device weened as odd digital characters began flashing across its small screen.
