MPC Name: Wildcard/DFRP Patch 5.0 MPC Number: 75X/72A Reward Requested: Bits DFRP Patch 5.0 Wildcard____________________ Stuck in class, again. It had been many months since Ravenna had gone on an adventure in the Digital World. She was focusing on her classes, and the homework was tougher than ever. Track season is still a ways away, so Ravenna finds herself with little chance to exercise when she's not running all over campus. It was so exciting being a Spirit Tamer, fighting in dangerous battles, exploring an amazing world, but regular life? Same old, same old. Sitting in front of a computer, Ravenna is wearing a black vest with black athletic shorts and long black and white stockings. It wasn't a suitable attire for the increasingly warmer weather, but the Woman in Black sure does love her goth fashion. The teacher goes on and on with the lecture. A few students are too loud and obnoxious to get any work done when they do have time to work on assignments. Raye had grown to resent her life situation, but her role as a Spirit User would once again come into play. Suddenly, Ravenna's phone starts vibrating in her bag. She jerks her neck up in surprise, hoping nobody heard her phone. She quietly slips her hand down into her bag and takes out her phone. "Strange, I got a text from some rando. It's all gibberish." She casually puts her phone down and tries to get back to work. The phone goes off again. Ravenna checks it and gets another weird text completely unreadable. As Ravenna is pondering what is going on, she gets a third text, this time in binary. She quickly pulls up a browser and translates the message. "Big trouble. Need help. In library. Hurry Ravenna." This was surprising. "What is this all about? I can't just leave in the middle of class!" Ravenna's D-tector starts going off in her bag. At this point, the teacher and a few students hear the commotion and look over. The teacher takes a few steps over. "Is everything alright, Miss Karasu?" "Um, yeah. I just got these weird messages. Probably spam. Please excuse me!" Ravenna quickly throws on her jacket, logs off, grabs her bag and rushes out of the room. The teacher makes a puzzled expression. Raye scurries down the hall, her heart rate accelerating. "What is going on? What is wrong?!"Ravenna reaches the library and looks around. Nothing seems unusual. A student notices Ravenna and waves for her to come over. The student quickly walks off behind a bookcase. Ravenna quietly strides over, following the student. She turns around the corner, and sees the student standing alone. He has long dark hair and glasses, and is wearing a white suit. "Ravenna, I knew you'd come.""Shirou? What's going on here? And why are you in the adult sci-fi manga section?" "There is not much time. The Digital World had a patch." "A patch? You mean, like a computer program? I didn't know the Digital World received updates." "Yes, and like every single patch known to man, from the MMO gold farmers to the helicopter simulator enthusiasts, this patch has a lot of bugs and glitches. I'm sending you in now to take care of things. Good luck, Raye." "Wait, what are you talking about? What am I supposed to do?" Shirou takes a book off the shelf and opens it, creating a light blue portal between the two. With a shrug, Ravenna brushes her hair out of her eyes and charges into the portal. Expecting to appear somewhere in the Digital World she recognizes, Ravenna emerges from the portal in some sort of black and green void. She gazes out into the seemingly infinite abyss. "Wow, this feels way too freaky. Is this some kind of loading screen?" She looks around, but doesn't see anyone. After walking around for a while, she notices a figure off in the distance. Is it a friend or foe? Ravenna takes her chances and calls out. "Excuse me, do you know what is going on here? Hello?!" She walks towards the figure, the sensation of being in this digital void starting to cause vertigo. This was like nothing Raye has experienced in the Digital World before. ___________ Word count for this post: 698 Links to Profiles: Ravenna Karasu Faustein Kuroyakushi

A while had passed since Faustein's latest escapade, this one having occurred in the Miyashita Cemetery. After that, Faustein had joined a certain group known as " Team NEXUS" and gotten to know its leader and the rest of the members as well in a recent encounter at their HQ. Afterwards, at some point, he had ventured back in to the Digital World for another long period of research and other exploratory travels as well as to gain more money since his finances seemed to be tanking pretty badly as of late due to all of his purchases in the recent past. He had been camping out in some suitable spot after having finished a series of client requests in the past several weeks and was just about ready to return to the Human World once more. Things had been relatively peaceful, so he was not expecting too much trouble on his trip back, if any at all. So, when the day finally came, he dismantled his camp, withdrawn his two digimon Taser the Kokuwamon and Lego the ShadowToyAgumon into his Xros Loader digivice and cleared out as much signature of his presence from the surrounding area as he could given the window of time he had set for himself. Little did he know that soon, this peaceful day would become not so peaceful once more. It all started rather ominously, with some kind of aurora like effect in the sky above which was followed by thunderclouds rolling in slowly, forming some sort of vortex which was slowly swirling about, growing ever larger. Naturally due to this, the sun was blotted out and darkness began to fall over the area. Now that is QUITE the strange phenomenon, indeed. Then again, perhaps this is simply another "normal" feature of this area. Either way, this bears further investigation at a later date.He thought calmly with that usual impassive, inscrutable expression on his face as he pointed his Xros Loader at an open space in front of him, intending to use the recently upgraded Digi-Port function from its repertoire. "Digi-Port, open."He instructed simply and initially everything looked to be correct as the usually swirling greenish blue portal of light had opened up in front of him. Needless to say, he did not suspect anything yet since he had no data which indicated that anything was wrong with the situation. It was after he entered that he noticed something was actually amiss as he did not exit into Central Shibuya as he was expecting at all. Instead, he ended up in a surreal black and green void which had occasional electronic/digital glitch screen like effects running through the area. He turned to look behind him, but the usual Digi-Port could not be seen anymore. So, he tried to open it back up again manually, but this time his digivice did not respond by creating the usual portal Now I know there is something DEFINITELY amiss here. Oh well, it would seem that the situation gives me no other options. How irksome, indeed.Realizing that he had no other choice but to wander about until some sort of clue presented itself, he grumbled silently, but then resigned himself to the situation and started to meander forward, or at least what he thought was forward anyway. What seemed like several minutes or perhaps even hours passed, but finally there was some sort of change noticeable to him. He could see a young woman who seemed to be dressed in typical goth fashion, aka with mostly black clothing. Once he approached a little closer, he could hear her call out, presumably to him since he and this strange young woman were the only two visible individuals in this vast black and green void. So, with nothing else to do, he headed in her direction slowly, with a leisurely stride and that same calm, inscrutable expression on his face. Once he was definitely within earshot, he responded "Unfortunately, this situation is alien and unforeseen to me as well. I presume then, that this phenomenon's provenance is not you?"He asked her simply in his rich, powerful baritone voice which was somehow melodious as well and then fell silent, awaiting her response, but yet keeping his digivice hidden securely in one of the inner pockets of his long, flowing physician-scientist's white coat. If she had keen enough ears, then she would be able to discern that his accent is a subtle mix of German and Japanese. As he moved closer still towards her, he increased his pace slightly, which caused his whitish green hair to wave about lazily, but his patent leather formal shoes made very little if any sound at all. For the time being, he kept his polarized Google Glasses on his face so that his striking crimson red eyes and any expressions in them would be hidden from view and stood a few paces away from her in a relaxed manner and posture. As always, he had all of his various gadgets stowed away either in the military style backpack on his back or situated somewhere on his person. OOC: WC: 858 Appearance:

Even after years of being a Spirit User, the Digital World still held many mysteries from Ravenna. The idea that an update could potentially change the Digital World so drastically instilled a fear into Ravenna that she couldn't shake easily. This void was barren, and with nothing to echo off of, sounds would carry on into the unknown. Yet, Raye could still hear this underlying humming sound all around her. The vast emptiness around the woman made her feel small.
As Ravenna approaches the only one she can see, his features begin to take shape. His whitish green hair is sticking up, and seems to wave. The two Digidestined move towards each other. Ravenna can tell by his attire that he is very tech savvy. When he spoke, his vocabulary was quite impressive, and his voice seemed to follow a melody. If Ravenna hadn't been thrown off by the bizarre surroundings, she likely would have detected the mix of German and Japanese in his accent.
The man responds to Ravenna's inquiry and explains that this is unfamiliar to him as well. Was this young man a Spirit User like Ravenna? Could this void be some kind of limbo as people with Digivices load into the Digital World for the first time with the update? Ravenna still isn't sure what is real and what is being distorted by this realm. She waves her hand to the side and can see an after image of data trailing behind.
"So it's not just me then. I was told something about an update, and went through a portal, but I don't really know what to expect." The two were a few feet apart now. Their hair and clothes were moving as though a gentle breeze was passing by, but Ravenna couldn't feel or hear any wind. Ravenna clasps her hands together in front of her chest and bows politely.
"My name is Ravenna. I am a Spirit User. For some reason, I get the feeling that you are familiar with Digimon as well."
For the first time since entering this place, something began to materialize. Ravenna looks towards her left and sees clouds of data floating around. The sound of a stream of water can be heard, but the sound crackles with static before becoming clear. Ravenna reaches her hand out towards the data, and suddenly feels the sensation of cold water on her fingertips. She pulls her hand back and examines her fingertips.
"It feels like water all right. If we are loading in, I hope it's not an ocean!"
The data continues gathering together. Bit by bit, a small pond begins to materialize. There pond is surrounded by beautiful flowers, and there is a creek flowing into the pond. A fountain of water appears where Ravenna held her hand. The area appears to be decorated with brown bricks, and appears to be well kept.
"Wow, this place is actually quite cute. Maybe a little boring for my tastes." The area continues to expand out into the void. While the pond is quite peaceful and serene, the still black sky provides a constant reminder that things are not natural.
"Interesting. I haven't seen any places like this before. It's so clean and tidy. Someone must live here. Unless, this is some sort of illusion." Maybe the two of them could learn more by investigating as the area continues to load in. Earlier, Shirou seemed quite disturbed by what is going on with the update. In an unknown place like this, danger could be lurking right in front of you. _________________

Faustein had nodded, signifying he understood the girl's name and then replied with his own while mirroring her polite greeting gesture as he did not have any data on her stats
"In my case, I was making preparations to depart from the Digital World back to the Human World. However, the Digi-Port seemed to malfunction and marooned me here in this vast void. That said, you may call me Faust."
He had then pulled out his Xros Loader while continuing to explain
"As is apparent from my digivice, I am an Xros General."
For the time being he had left out the fact that he was a special subtype of Xros General known as a Twin Core General, but if the situation required it of him, he would reveal it later. Then, he had fallen silent and observed as the girl known as "Ravenna" interacted with their current surroundings. At first, there wwere simple trails of data as moved her hand, but after a while, what seemed to be clouds of data manifested themselves. Faustein watched as Ravenna touched one such cloud with her hand and apparently this was some sort of water data
"Well, I do possess a few spare rebreathers, so even if we were to load into the ocean, I presume we can handle ourselves rather well."
With that, he fell silent again and watched as the void now gave way to what seemed like a creek with a pond in the area as well. All around, there seemed to be a brownstone construct which, along with the surrounding area was rather well kept. There was even a fountain in the midst of this area. He nodded to Ravenna as she mused aloud about how someone must be using the place as their residence and how she had not seen any such places like this before but also that it was a tad pedestrian for her tastes. After glancing once at the still dark sky above them, he leveled his gaze at Ravenna while remarking
"Well, perhaps you have not seen such a place in reality, but maybe you had read about such a place in a book or some such literature? Perhaps this place is accessing your subconscious in order to construct this dimension or whatever this place happens to be in nature. After all, I have found that malleability is one of the defining characteristics of data, and this is even more applicable to data originating from the Digital World."
He proposed in an attempt to come up with a working hypothesis or rather a handful of them to explain their current situation. Then he finished by cautioning her
"Nevertheless, I do believe we ought to err on the side of caution here and limit out contact with the objects we see as far as possible, since we do not yet possess any practicable information on the various characteristics of this dimension."

While Ravenna was in the city before arriving in this area, Faust was actually returning from the Digital World. Faustein goes on to explain that he is a Xros General, and shows Ravenna his Xros Loader. Ravenna was further surprised that this stranger isn't a Tamer or Spirit User, but rather a Xros General.
"Oh, that's interesting. I have heard about Xros Generals, but I have never met one in my travels. Your Digivice looks a lot different than the ones I have seen."
Ravenna takes out her Digivice, a purple and black D-tector, and shows it to Faust. When Ravenna mentioned being worried about loading in to an ocean, Faust mentions that he has some rebreathers in case. A small sigh of relief crosses Ravenna's face.
"That is good to know. Still, I don't want to be stranded out in the water."
Ravenna wouldn't have to worry about scurvy and seasickness for now, as the area began to load up. Faust mentions the theory that this place could be accessing their subconscious, creating a scene Ravenna may have seen a picture of.
"Well, we don't really know what this place is, so I guess that is possible. Maybe you have seen this place before? Places I tend to think about are dark and usually full of cobwebs."
Faust mentions that they should err on the side of caution, as they know next to nothing about this place. Ravenna is caught off guard by Faust's intelligence and reasoning.
"You are right, Faust. I just feel like I'm being thrown for a loop given how smart you are. It's just that most of the people I meet are not half as level headed as you."
If Ravenna had to sort through this update with someone, it would be hard to find a better pick than Faust. Raye can imagine her friend Misty being here, and how her bubbly nature would probably get her into trouble in a place like this. As the area continues to stretch out into the abyss, more features begin rendering nearby. Ravenna notices a small wooden shack materialize off to the side of the pond with a nice little stone path leading to the door.
"Look, that must be where the one who takes care of the area lives. Should we see if there is anyone inside?"
Ravenna is starting to hesitate to take action after Faust's warnings. This could all be some kind of trick. Ravenna takes a few steps towards the shack when something catches her eye. She looks down at a patch of flowers and notices something strange. She takes a knee and examines the flowers.
"These flowers look normal from a distance, but if you look right here, you can see these dark jagged edges. It really does look like something from a video game back when graphics were awful."
As Ravenna is examining the flowers, she cuts her finger on one of the edges. She searches her bag looking for something to wrap around her finger to stop the slight bleeding. The flowers start to glitch out, revealing a dense patch of thorns.
"What is going on? These thorns were not here before. Judging by the rest of the surroundings, why would there be thorns here? The rest of the foliage is so well maintained."
This is only confirming Faust's heed to take caution. If things were not as they appeared, could they even trust their own senses? Is there a Digimon living in the shack, and are they friendly, or hostile? Ravenna gets up and continues searching her bag, but finds herself short on supplies.
"Would you happen to have a bandage? I wasn't expecting to go out on an adventure, and I'm totally unprepared."
Ravenna was packed up in preparation for her classes, but certainly not a trip to the Digital World. The jury is still out on which one is more intimidating: big scary monsters, or going to class. __________

Faustein had glanced down at his Xros Loader digivice when Ravenna had remarked on how it seemed far different from the ones she had seen in her travels and then remarked
"Indeed, though the reason for this stark difference still eludes me."
Then, Ravenna had gone on to address the issue with loading into the ocean and while she did initially look relieved about the fact that he had some spare rebreathers with him, she had pointed out that she still would not be comfortable experienceing such an upload. After that the conversation shifted to the topic of his intellect and level-headedness apparently being superior to that of her compatriots and the continuance of their discussion about the Digital World possibly accessing their memories
Strange, this would just be common sense, not some sort of grand strategic maneuver. Oh well, I suppose not everyone can be as intelligent as myself.
Faustein mused silently with a quizzical look on his face, but then responded quite differently in his spoken word
"Oh? Is that right? That's quite intriguing indeed. Then again, I have had a tad more life experience than them, I suppose and as to whether such scenes and objects as the ones before us currently exist in my memories, I am unsure of that. It would perhaps require a systematic directed recollection through regressive hypnosis."
After that he had fallen silent and started to observe as Ravenna examined various objects in the environment while making brief reports about their nature to him until finally she had noticed some kind of shack materialize several paces away from them and wondered aloud if they should go and check it out. After that, she had tried to touch one of the flowers in the ground, but instead of petals, her fingers had met sharp thorns which of course cut them. So she asked him for a band-aid.
"On the subject of the flowers, it reminds me of the multi-layer environmental emulation that one sees with game development software such as the RPGM series, albeit in this case, it seems the base programming seems somewhat riddled with glitches. This phenomenon usually happens when Layers 1 and 2 are not fixed before going on to creation of Layer 3 and thus, the user ultimately is able to interact with the objects on Layers 2 and 3 while effectively phasing through Layer 1."
He remarked with a curious expression on his face which slowly transformed into one of utter fascination with the events unfolding before him. So, he paused there for a moment and then resumed
"Then again, I am still quite the greenhorn in the Digital World so maybe this phenomenon is of a far different nature entirely. I suppose time will reveal the truth behind it if we persist in our investigation of the area."
He shrugged briefly and then realized that he had not given Ravenna her band-aid since he had gotten lost in his thoughts and fascination with the current surroundings. So, he stopped and pulled himself out of his speculative spoken reverie and while kneeling next to her, he took out a band-aid from the portable first aid kit in his backpack and handed it to her. Then he stood up once more and looked out at the shack after having examined the glitched flower/thornbush closely
"A band-aid? Oh, certainly. Here, you are, Ravenna. Now, regarding the shack, perhaps it would be wiser to scout ahead without actually going there on our own first. Do you happen to have some kind of scouting ability in any of your digimon spirit forms, perchance?"

The difference in Digivices is not the only thing that makes this Xros General unique. Faust is a walking thesaurus, explaining things in great detail. It took a few extra seconds for Ravenna's bird brain to process what he was saying. When it came to the flowers, Faustein explains the similarities to certain glitches that arise in software programs. He mentions different layers overlapping each other.
"That would explain why I cut myself. I wonder if this was an intentional part of the update, or an oversight."
To Raye's delight, Faust hands her a band-aid from his portable first aid kit. A brief smile crosses Ravenna's face and she nods in appreciation.
"Thank you, Faust. I never seem to have a first aid kit around when I need one. Instead, I'm stuck lugging books around all day."
Ravenna carefully peels back the paper and applies the band-aid to her finger, pocketing the leftover paper to throw it away later. While Ravenna is curious as to what dwells inside the small shack, Faust suggests scouting ahead. Given that Ravenna just pricked her finger looking at a flower, she agrees it is probably best to play it safe.
"That sounds like a good idea. It just so happens that I am an excellent scout in my Spirit forms."
Ravenna raises her D-Tector to the side, and a wave of violet energy spirals around her arm, rushing over her body. With a loud caw, Ravenna appears as her Psycrowmon form, resembling an average crow with a ring around its leg. The crow takes flight, soaring up into the sky. She flies around the area, circling around as more landscape becomes visible.
Psycrowmon caws again. With no echo returning, her caw sounds almost distorted. It was unsettling hearing such a common sound to Ravenna different than before. Without warning, Ravenna flies right into an invisible wall. The crow unceremoniously falls out of the air, crash landing into the ground as a few lost feathers gently glide down. Ravenna lets out a weak caw, several meters east of Faust.
"Ooh-ohhh, what the hell? An invisible wall?! But, I didn't hear any echo! There shouldn't have been anything in front of me."
As the land stretches out into the abyss, a path begins to form. The once brick path turns into a street resembling that of the larger cities in the Digital World. More buildings appear, more modern buildings that clash with the peaceful pond. The voices of Digimon can be heard coming from the city. A lone Solarmon comes bolting out of the city, heading down the path. The Machine Digimon's gears spin rapidly, frantically fleeing the city.
The Solarmon notices Faust and heads towards the pond. "A human? You've got to get out of here real quick! It's total chaos in there!" More Digimon come running down the path. The sound of a huge blast can be heard coming from the city.
"That doesn't sound good. I'm heading there now!" Ravenna struggles to take flight, but quickly plummets to the ground, too injured to fly temporarily. Vibrations can be felt through the ground, as two large tusks appear. A raging Mammothmon comes rampaging through the city, plowing right through a building. The large Digimon charges in Ravenna's direction. Would Faust have enough time to save the injured crow? _________

"If it were intentional, that would be more than a little worrisome."Faustein had remarked simply when Ravenna had mused aloud about whether the root cause of the void and strange new glitchy dimension they were in at present was by design or pure chance. Then, when he had handed her a band-aid, she had gone on to mention how she was always stuck lugging books all day and thus had no time or space on her person to carry a first aid pouch. "Das is the life of a student. Ah, such fond memories indeed..."He had said with an amused smirk on his thin, firm lips and then had fallen silent and observed Ravenna as she heeded his suggestion and transformed into some sort of crow like digimon which called itself " Psycrowmon". Then, she had flown into the air and circled around a few times while emitting a series of caws each time Echolocation ability eh? It must be quite the useful ability indeed. Though, I wonder why it is not returning anything and also why it is sounding so distorted each time.Faustein mused as he watched Ravenna in her Spirit digimon form have no significant success in scouting, at least with the use of her sound waves. Then, he had continued to observe her closely when, without any warning or preamble, she had collided with some sort of invisible wall and slid down at a spot several meters east of his position. After that, the strangest series of events came to pass as the area expanded more and was now hosting a series of sophisticated buildings of various types and with digimon walking about. This seemingly peaceful scene was then abruptly interrupted when a large pair of tusk emerged and soon, a " Mammothmon" followed suit, causing instant chaos and panic as the city dwelling digimon fled the area, trying to get away from the rampaging behemoth. One of these, a " Solarmon", had noticed Faustein standing by the fountain and pond and warned him to get away, but Faustein was too intrigued to respond to it or heed its warning at the moment. As if that were not bad enough, the rampaging Mammothmon had apparently noticed Ravenna in her " Psycrowmon" form and began to charge towards her. Curses, she is too injured to fend it off in her present form. Now, if only this dimension could contract somehow, then it would be possible to reach her in time.Grumbling thus silently, Faustein took off at a swift run while coming up with an impromptu strategy to neutralize the impending " Mammothmon" threat. Strangely enough, as if in response to his thoughts, the dimension did indeed contract, allowing him to reach to within a few meters of Ravenna, essentially within sight and hearing range of both her and the oncoming Mammothmon. Then, he wasted no time in firing his grappling gun module from his bionic left arm at a nearby stout tree with thick branches. The grappling hook wrapped around the tree branch and latched itself into place, allowing him to swing himself in a brief arcing trajectory towards Ravenna. At the right moment, when he was right above Ravenna, he scooped her up with his free right hand and nestled her in the crook of his arm as he flew up on to the tree branch and landed, surprisingly enough on his feet, albeit crouched currently. Then, he retracted his grappling gun module back to its holder within his bionic left arm and watched the " Mammothmon" to study the effects of his actions on it. Needless to say, the sudden flash of action before its single median eye had caught it off guard and it ended up overshooting its destination and smashed into the invisible wall instead due to the unexpected shift in terrain. Consequently, it became dazed, albeit only for a few moments. After recovering, it started to look about to see where its target had disappeared to, but more than likely, it would not take it very long to figure out their location. OOC:WC: - Post WC: 669

The two of them seem to be getting along well. Maybe if they met under different circumstances, Ravenna could get to know more about Faust. Ravenna had cut her finger on the thorn, but it was unintentional. Ravenna may be goth, but she's not that kind of emo. When Ravenna mentioned lugging her books around, Faust reminisces fondly. By the sound of it, Faust was a student, but hasn't been for some time. For now, Ravenna is stuck dealing with her lame classes to placate her demanding family.
When Ravenna transformed and started scouting the area, Faust picked up on what Ravenna was doing. He also noticed the distorted sound with no echo. Once Ravenna had crashed, things quickly escalated with the appearance of a panicked city and rampaging Mammothmon.
Faust notices the injured Ravenna in the path of the Mammothmon and takes action. While it appeared to be too far away, from Ravenna's line of sight, it was almost like Faust was propelled forward as the dimension contracted. The unstable environment continued to spring surprises. Faust fires his grappling gun from his bionic arm and swings in, scooping up the crow and carrying Raye to safety. The Mammothmon continues charging forward, ramming into an invisible wall. Ravenna is quite impressed with this display of badassery, and grateful for the timely rescue.
"Wow, that was so cool! Thank you. I didn't know your arm could do that." The mammoth more enraged than before turns its attention towards the two in the tree. As he charges forward, debris from buildings starts falling from the sky. "I'll see if I can distract him. BWAHRK!" A trio of crows descend from the sky, flying towards the mammoth. The crows peck and caw at the mammoth, drawing his attention. The beast flails his head about, trying to thrash the birds with its tusks.
During all the commotion, a crack in the land opens up along the border of the city. "If we can lure Mammothmon to the edge, we may be able to push it off the cliff. AHRK!" Ravenna instructs the crows to head towards the edge. The crows lead the mammoth towards the edge, but it would take a great force to push the beast over. A big piece of debris falls towards the tree. Digimon continue to panic as another explosion can be heard coming from the city. This time, a cloud of smoke can be seen rising up from the blast. A dark, twisted, and creepy voice can be heard cackling in the sky over the city.
"Wha haa haha ha ha ha haaaa! It's showtime!"
A rampaging mammoth, a glitchy update, and a war zone. Still beats sitting in class. Would the duo be able to avoid the falling debris and knock the Mammothmon over the ledge? What exactly is going on in the city? Is this all the update's fault, or is someone deliberately unleashing hell upon an unstable Digital World? Having mostly recovered from her flying mishap earlier, Ravenna is able to fly, but will probably stick close by Faust. Could the two of them survive long enough to even figure out what is going on?
Ravenna wants some answers about this update. Someone had to know what is going on. If they do make it out of this unscathed, Ravenna is going to get some answers, even if she has to beat them out of somebody. As if it was possible for Ravenna to loathe that egomaniacal geek Shirou even more, he's the one who dragged her into this mess. He better have a good reason for throwing Ravenna into the fray. ____________

"Indeed for my body is that of a cyborg, and so you may call me, "Professor Gizmo"."Faustein had smirked at Ravenna smugly while posing in a theatrically dramatic manner and somehow managed to keep his balance on the branch, possibly due to its stout bulk Sadly, his antics were rudely interrupted shortly afterward by the Mammothmon noticing them in the tree. Luckily, Ravenna had recovered enough wherewithal to forestall it by using one of her other moves, this one being able to summon a murder of crows to harass the digital pachyderm. As he watched, she had commanded her crow summons to drive the Mammothmon towards the endge of a cliff some distance away from the tree, but Mammothmon's wild flailing was making it quite difficult to finish the job by pushing it over the edge. "First echolocation and now birb calling, eh? My my, you certainly are full of surprises, Ravenna. Such a talented little crow, you are, indeed."Saying thus, he hedpetted her to emphasize his praise and impressed frame of mind as she was still nestled securely in his arm, all the while keeping the other half of his attention on the situation at hand. Thing were going from bad to worse as there were now explosions being heard from all over the city and even more city dwelling digimon panicking and fleeing for their lives. There was even a giant cloud of smoke rising into the sky from the city. Then, a maniacal voice was heard cackling in the sky over the city, but currently there was nothing to be seen there. However, he could not worry about that now for debris started to rain down over the area, with one of the larger pieces heading straight for the tree, albeit not from directly above. "And for my next act, behold all ye who art near and far, I shall levitate myself magically to avoid certain death!!"He proclaimed, still in that same dramatic manner and with all the theatrical gestures from before and activated the anti-gravity device which was strapped to his wrist and concealed under the cuff of his white lab coat sleeve. Consequently, he along with Ravenna in her Psycrowmon form who was currently nestled securely in his arm rose up from the tree branch to a height of about 15 feet, just before the debris collided with the tree and smashed it to where it was little more than a pile of destroyed wood and splinters. As a result, they both managed to avoid getting crushed this time, but it remained to be seen if they could do the same now that they were hovering high up in midair. OOC:WC: - Post WC: 448

There was something unusual about this man Ravenna had met, but she had no idea that he is actually a cyborg. Ravenna is shocked by this realization, as Faust poses dramatically in the tree. The crow is safely nestled under his arm.
"You're a cyborg?! I mean, I thought you were tech savvy, but dang."
The trio of crows lures the mammoth towards the cliff. Faust praises Ravenna for her unusual talents and gives her a cute pet on the head. Ravenna chirps contently, and if crows could blush, she would be blushing. A large chunk of debris is heading for the tree, but Faust has things covered. Faust speaks like a magician performing a trick, using his anti gravity device to rise into the air. The debris smashes into the tree, but the duo are unharmed.
"Wow, you can fly too? You're doing all of this, and you are not even a Digimon!"
It was nice to see that this intelligent man also has a sense of humor. His showmanship reminded Ravenna of her friend Misty. Now that they were free of falling debris, Ravenna turns her attention back to the Mammothmon. The crow wiggles free and makes a mad dash towards the beast. As the mammoth is thrashing around, it catches one of the crows with a tusk, and the crow lackey plummets off the cliff.
"Nooo, Crowman! You'll pay for that, fluffy! BWAHARK!!!"
Psycrowmon fires a psychic blast through the air towards Mammothmon. The blast connects with the beast's side, pushing it towards the edge. The beast looses its footing, and rotates around, but the ground beneath its hind legs crumbles apart, and Mammothmon tumbles off the edge of the cliff. Ravenna flies back and perches on Faust's right shoulder.
The remaining two crow lackeys follow their leader back and perch on Faust's left shoulder. They start squabbling over who gets to stand where and peck at each other, but Ravenna squawks at them and they simmer down, waiting for their next task. Faust's ear probably got caught in the crossfire. Hopefully it wouldn't be ringing for too long.
"Ha ha! See you later, you big dumb elephant. I can't believe we brought down an Ultimate! Good job, Crowseph and Brandon."
At least they had taken care of one threat. Another explosion goes off in the city. This time, a silhouette can be seen in the sky, as the cackling maniac casts their shadow in the smoke.
"That must be the Digimon causing trouble. Looks kind of lanky, and I think I see some swords."
The Solarmon from before pokes his head out from behind the cover of a large rock. Upon seeing the carnage die down for now, he rushes over to Faust and Ravenna, gazing up at the floating heroes.
"You guys stopped Mammothmon?! That was so crazy! Thank you. But, that isn't the only problem right now."
"That Mammothmon seemed blinded by rage. I thought they were normally fairly peaceful, usually only trampling things when something provokes them."
"I don't even know how it got in the city in the first place. Everything seemed normal, then buildings began to glitch out, right before our eyes! Next thing I know, the area starts changing, and someone starts dropping bombs on the city! You guys have to do something."
"Don't worry. We will provide what help we can. Right, Faust?"
It felt strange heading towards the explosions, but Ravenna felt like she had been chosen for this. She hasn't been on any adventures lately, defending innocent Digimon and Shibuya from attacks like before. This update was too much, she couldn't sit idly by.
"Let me know if you guys need anything. I'm not much of a fighter, but I know the area. I think I'll stick close by you. That's probably the safest bet. If you need me, I'll be hiding close by."
"Well, I guess that is kind of brave. Eh, not really. I'll keep you safe to the best of my abilities. We need all the help we can get."
"Alright, then. Just take that path into the city, and you should encounter that monster terrorizing the city. I'll be right behind you."
What sort of fiend awaits them in the city? They were about to find out. 714 _____________

Faustein had smirked when Ravenna expressed her surprise at his revelation that he was a cyborg, but then remarked theatrically "Alas, if only this frail mortal coil could be completely cyberized, but the current level of technology is nowhere near that degree of sophistication. Indeed, my body does possess the power of flight, and it is quite the exhilarating experience, to be sure."Then, he had fallen silent and had watched Ravenna as she went to work in avenging the fall of one of her crow minions by dropping the Mammothmon into the yawning chasm below the cliff edge. After that, she had flown back to him and roosted on his right shoulder while her minions did the same, but on his left shoulder. So, he hedpetted her crow minions gently as well to reward them for a job well done. Of course, their squawking did cause him to wince a little due to the super-sensitive nature of his hearing, but it was inconsequential over all. He was about to say more but then, there were more explosions in the city and afterward, a figure could be seen in the smokescreen, one that was light of figure and apparently a sword wielder of some sort. The trouble just intensifies at each turn, eh? Oh well, there is no helping my misfortune, it seems.Faustein mused silently while still hovering high up in the air and studying everything that went on in the situation at hand. However, before long, his reverie was interrupted by the appearance of the fleeing Solarmon again that had now come and engaged them in conversation, praising them for their efforts. It then requested their aid to finally set the situation right once more and Ravenna agreed to that readily while asking him the same. "Well, it would seem that the rescue of the city from its currently perilous state holds the key to our salvation from this anomalous dimension. So, let us proceed then, once more unto the breach and may the Norns guide us to victory over our dastardly foe!!" He said while pointing in the direction of the shadowy figure behind the giant rising pillar of smoke while also posing dramatically as he had earlier, in a bit more ungainly way since he had nothing to stand on as he was floating in midair With that, he lowered himself and his passengers to the ground by deactivating the anti-gravity device on his wrist in stages afte which the entire group marched along the path, getting ever closer to the ruins of the city with each passing moment. It would seem that Faustein is not satisfied with his current level of cybernetics.
"You mean you don't want to maintain your humanity? Why would you wanna be a robot? Flesh is squishy and weak, but how many upgrades would it take to be fully satisfied? Bwah-wah!"
Ravenna's crow lackeys enjoy being headpetted for their hard work. After the Solarmon asked them for help, Ravenna hops down off of Faust's shoulder and returns to her human form. The two start heading down the path as the crows fly off to scout ahead. While some Digimon could be seen panicking, the explosions seemed to be dying down.
"That's strange. I don't see that Digimon in the sky anymore. Did they go somewhere else?"
Ravenna thinks back to what Shirou had said. Why did he need her help, of all people? Shirou's inventions were fantastic, and his computer knowledge made him a far better pick to deal with this unstable update than Raye. Suddenly, Ravenna hears something that makes her skin crawl. She recognizes a familiar voice from her past.
"Hello again, Ravenna. Did you miss me?" Ravenna looks down an alleyway and sees a figure in the shadows. "Cambria, is that you? Show yourself!" A blonde woman, a Spirit User like Ravenna, wearing steel and chainmail armor steps out of the shadows, hellfire in her eyes. She smiles sinisterly at Ravenna. The crow girl quickly reaches for her D-tector. "Still spinning your wheels, little girl? Do you remember the time you broke my leg? Sounds like a good time to break one of yours."
Cambria raises her hand out and launches a volley of flames at Ravenna. The Spirit User's digivice glows as rays of violet energy spiral around her. The energy disperses, revealing Ravenna's H-Hybrid form Suzamon. Her hair has grown long and dark, she is wearing black and violet armor, black markings and glowing violet symbols appear on her arms and legs. Her arms sport black gauntlets with feathers and chains. Most of her body is covered by the armor, leather, or feathers with her ever pale upper arms and thighs exposed and showing strange symbols. Two massive black wings stretch out from her back.
A barrier of psychic energy appears from Ravenna's digivice that shields her from the flames. After the dust settles, Cambria turns and flees.
"Oh no you don't! Get back here!" Suzamon takes flight and dashes after Cambria. The two remaining crows follow after their mistress. Ravenna has become so focused on pursuing her foe, Faust may lose track of her. Ravenna dashes down the alley in pursuit, but Cambria is nowhere to be seen.
"That's just great! What the hell is Cambria doing here? Come out, come out, wherever you are, you road wench!" "Ah haha ha haaa! You may run, you may jump, but you'll never run faster or jump higher than me! I'm a real track prodigy, and you are just an amateur. Wha ha haha ha haaa!"
Suzamon grabs her head in pain. Cambria is tapdancing on her nerves. Ravenna looks around and sees Cambria standing there. "I'll kill you! RAAAAH!" Ravenna fires a massive psychic blast towards Cambria, but the blonde disappears into thin air. The blast destroys the wall of a building, revealing something inside. "Eh? What's in there?" Ravenna slowly approaches the building. She cannot believe what she sees.
Inside is a mannequin wearing a wonderfully tailored track uniform with a white and purple top and black shorts with matching designs. Ravenna's eyes widen as she quickly examines the outfit. "It's so pretty. Look, there are little skull designs! Cute!"
While Ravenna gets preoccupied with her rival and some window shopping, someone calls out to Faust. Solarmon pokes his head out from behind an overturned wheelbarrow. "Is everything alright?" Solarmon flips the wheelbarrow over and follows after the humans pushing the wheelbarrow before turning it upside down and crawling underneath for cover.
Who is calling to Faust, Ravenna does not know. She had been so preoccupied with Cambria that she didn't even react to Faust seeing her in her revealing outfit. It was especially embarrassing given how pale her legs had gotten. Not to mention it was uncomfortable as hell moving around in all that armor and leather covered with feathers and chains. Still, looking goth is certainly worth it to Ravenna. If Faust does keep up with Ravenna, he will come across something in the shop as well that will be very, very appealing to him. What sort of trickery is at hand? ______________

Faustein had been about to respond when Ravenna and her minions took off flying to scout ahead, so he simply resigned himself to following behind them. That, of course, led him into even more trouble as one of Ravenna's past rivals and/or enemies had apparently shown up. The resulting conflict between them had kicked up a lot of smoke, dust, and debris so it was fairly hard for him to keep a visual bead on Ravenna as she headed off in pursuit. After the blinding smokescreen had settled, he tried to look for any sort of evidence which could point him in the direction which Ravenna could possibly have taken after leaving him behind, but no such luck. Well, she is quite the impulsive one, eh? She truly is an amusing specimen, but where in the name of Dante's Inferno did she run off to?Faustein mused silently while looking about, but had to give up the search for the time being since his reverie was interrupted by the sound of a now familiar voice calling to him. So, he turned in the direction of the Solarmon's voice and responded "Not quite, our Spirit user has absconded, apparently. So for the interim, it is just the two of us, presumably."He said to the Solarmon which had then nodded and snuck under an upturned wheelbarrow for cover. After that, since his human senses were not quite powerful enough to detect Ravenna and follow her digital signature to once again reunite with her, Faustein switched tactics Perhaps a combination of Taser's reconnaisance ability and the improved scanner is the most apropos option in this situation. With that thought in mind, he summoned " Taser", his " Kokuwamon", and then implemented his tracking plan by combining its battlefield scan and search function with his digivice's improved digimon scanner app. Sure enough, his plan worked brilliantly as it led him to where Ravenna was currently, and to facilitate transport, he had called out " Lego", his " ShadowToyAgumon", and had it disassemble itself and then reform into a sort of impromptu jet propelled hoverboard which carried him all the way to Ravenna without him having to walk at all. Once there, he finally came face to face with Ravenna who was now in her spirit form again, but a different one this time. "That is quite the...unique accoutrement. So which spirit is this one?"He asked while giving Ravenna a once-over with a mostly impassive and inscrutable face, with the addition being the angles of his mouth twitching upward slightly, indicating that he was attempting but failing to suppress an oncoming smirk of high amusement. Then, he fell silent and waited for her to respond with some sort of explanation. While waiting, however, his peripheral visual sense did detect some manner of commercial establishment off to the side. So, he turned and started to examine it while musing silently Now this is a truly marvelous specimen indeed. A bionic limb specimen display, eh? Furthermore, all the models seem to be of the most advanced sort. How intriguing. OOC:WC:- Post WC:

Ravenna had taken off in pursuit of her foe, leaving Faust and Solarmon behind. It wasn't long until Ravenna had disappeared into the smoke down the alleyway. Fortunately, Faust is able to use the powers of his Digimon partners to rejoin her. Taser the Kokuwamon uses their battlefield scan and search function to track down the crow girl. Lego the ShadowToyAgumon reassembles itself into a hoverboard to propel Faust forward.
Solarmon pokes his head out from underneath the wheelbarrow and sees Faust heading off. "Eek! Wait for me. Maybe it's safer if I just leave." Solarmon can hear something falling from the sky and takes cover. A bomb lands on a nearby building and blows it to smithereens. "Oh mon, I better hurry!" Solarmon flips the wheelbarrow over and chases after Faust while pushing the wheelbarrow.
Ravenna was briefly distracted from chasing Cambria by a cute outfit on display. As Faust catches up to her, she hears someone and looks over. "Oh hey, Faust. Sorry for taking-" Ravenna appears casual at first, but sees the look Faust is giving her and remembers she transformed. Ravenna blushes and quickly hides behind the mannequin. "This is my H-Hybrid Spirit Suzamon. It's not like I chose to wear this getup! While I like the colors, it's a bit overkill." Ravenna tugs on the feathers around her hips trying to get some more coverage. "Damn it, I thought these feathers were longer."
After a moment, Ravenna sheepishly steps out from behind the mannequin, super self conscious. She examines the track outfit and shows it to Faust. "Isn't it pretty? It's my school's colors too." Ravenna notices the bionic limb specimen display that has caught Faust's eyes. "Wow, that looks so high tech." As Ravenna is fawning over the outfit, her crows start freaking out. They dart around rapidly close to Ravenna flapping their wings.
"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" One of the crows flies straight into the mannequin and knocks it over, tumbling to the ground with it. Before Suzamon can react, the mannequin explodes. Both remaining crow lackeys are taken out in the explosion. Ravenna is sent flying back by the explosion, shooting across the street and slamming into a wall. Ravenna lands face first on the ground, dazed and confused by the explosion.
"Oww, my back! What's going on here?" A shadow crosses Ravenna's face, as a tall figure can be seen standing on a nearby rooftop. "Wha-haa haha ha! That worked like a charm. You are one gullible bird." The Digimon leaps up into the air and rotates around like an Olympic diver and lands in the alleyway, taking a bow and then posing dramatically. The Digimon in question is none other than Piedmon, the Prince of Chaos.
"What the hell? A clown?!" "I'm not a clown! That is an offensive term. I am a Jester. You mean you don't recognize me, Ravenna?" Suzamon shakes her head, wide eyed and surprised. "Really? Let me just check my manuscripts here. Damn it, where's that imbecile Piddomon when I actually need him for a change?" The 'jester' frantically searches through his side satchel, dumping out a bunch of junk, before checking his pockets. Ravenna watches on, confused.
"Uhh, are you sure you have the right girl?" "Of course! Ahh, here it is." Piedmon pulls a paper script out of his blouse. "You and your friend Misty were at the mall one time, and you were approached to star in a play. My play." "But, you look nothing like the director. He was short, and fat. Wait, that was you?!" "Guilty! Yes yes, I played the role of the overweight egomaniacal Hollywood director to a tee!"
Ravenna does recall that time she was suddenly cast in a play at the mall, but she had no idea that the snobby director was actually a sinister Digimon chasing his dream in disguise. "Alright, so you're an even bigger creep than I thought. The impossible has become possible. So what is going on with this city?" "Well, truth be told, I don't know what is going on."
Piedmon takes a handkerchief out of his sleeve and it expands greatly in size. He waves it out and a row of seats from a theater appear. Piedmon invites them to have a seat. "Why should I trust you?" "This time it's not a trick! I would never sabotage an opportunity to showcase my amazing ability as an actor/writer/director." Ravenna carefully takes a seat, keeping a close eye on the fool. Piedmon starts acting out different events, and using shadow puppets to create elaborate shapes upon the wall.
"So there I was, drunk as a skunk, floating in a sea of wine, again. My memory is a little fuzzy, but that idiot Dante was there. I remember being sucked down a vortex in the floor, and my body was hurled down a waterfall of wine. My body crashed down into the jagged and gnarly rocks below. I was bloodied and mangled, and I thought I had taken my last curtain call." Piedmon contorts his body in uncomfortable ways.
"Instead of returning as a Digi egg, I had faded from existence. Then just earlier today, I suddenly found myself back in the Digital World. Only things are a lot different now. I figured it was time for some catching up, so I started terrorizing the city. But then I overheard you two, I have very good hearing, and I recalled that play. So I played a trick on you to get your attention." "So strange. Why are you doing all of this?" "Now, you can star in my plays again! Who better for a leading lady? The snobby, bitchy goth girl characters are always the most popular with randy fanboys in both the 12-18 and 18-45 demographic. Faust, you are invited to the auditions. Please bring at least 3 headshots."
Ravenna looks over at Faust and makes a disturbed expression. "Is this guy making any sense to you? I don't want to be in any more of his stupid plays!" "No? Well, maybe I can encourage you to change your mind." Piedmon drops down a cartoonish bomb with a fuse and leaps back to create distance. It looks like they either need to put out the fuse or throw the bomb somewhere else, before they get blown to pieces like reviewers do to Piedmon's plays. __________
