Dark Knight Mordreid

Post by Deleted on Jun 16, 2020 9:03:20 GMT
Digimon Name: Mordreid
Default Form: Highest Form Available
Gender: Male
Alignment: Neutral
Skills/Talents:
- Skilled Liar: Having lied his entire existence, it can be difficult to spot his… less extravagant lies. Incidentally, this makes him great to have around a campfire.
- Darkvision: Mordreid can see outlines in the dark, so he’s not bothered by a lack of light. He’s unable to read, however, so he still prefers to have a light source handy.
Inventory:
- A shiny black stone. Legends say this stone was but a fragment of an ancient super-weapon that was responsible for separating the Dark Area from the rest of the Digital World! It’s definitely not just some ordinary rock that he picked up because it matched the color of his armor!
Personality:
Mordreid is one of the most amicable people you’ll ever meet. He’s always willing to listen to someone and tell a story in return. He loves meeting new people and can easily grow to care about them a great deal. If someone is willing to stick by him despite his flaws, he’s a steady companion that can be relied upon. Mostly.
Mordreid has little interest besides making friends and meeting people, so it’s hard to do anything to annoy him. The only real way to make an enemy out of him is to outright attack him, but he’s more likely to run away if he can.
Mordreid is still a young Digimon, so he’s interested in the lore and fables of the Digital World. If given the chance, he would live in a library of tales from the Old Digital World, but he much prefers to hear tales from the mouths of people. His favorite pastime other than listening to tales is to tell them, and potentially make them into taller tales.
Ultimately Mordreid is a liar and a trickster, but there’s a noble heart lying within his facade of friendly apathy. He may not have a strong sense of justice, but he also doesn’t have a wicked code in his body and will ultimately fight against invading forces of evil. At the end of the day he just wants the world to live in harmony and pass on stories to future generations.
Holosuit Appearance:
FaceClaim: KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN! • tsunayoshi sawada • Mordreid
Personal History:
“Hey, hey! Did you know the story of the fourteenth royal knight? Legends say that there are only thirteen, but there was actually a fourteenth! He was known as the Knight of Shadows! You see, while the thirteen were all united under one banner, it was the fourteenth’s duty to oppose the remaining thirteen to counterbalance their ideals with his own! Some could say that he was actually the strongest knight, since he sometimes had to fight multiple knights all at once! But like all the other knights, he disappeared one day, but did you know? There are some legends that say he reformatted, and that he walks the Digital World as a regular Digimon! That means that fourteenth knight could be you or me, and we’d have no way of knowing for sure! That’s certainly something, isn’t it?
Huh? What do you mean? Of course I’m not lying! It’s definitely a true story! One day the Royal Knights will return to the Digital World, and when they do, the fourteenth Knight of Shadows will rise from the depths of the darkest darkness to oppose them! Doesn’t that just sound the coolest? By the way, my name’s Mordreid, what’s yours?”
Mordreid was born in the Village of Beginnings like most Digimon. He doesn’t remember any past lives, but he knew from the very beginning of his life that he wanted to make as many friends as possible. Unfortunately… he’s also glitched. Not broken, per se, but there’s something wrong with his Digicore that gives him a certain disadvantage in some social situations. For Mordreid is incapable of speaking the truth without his voice becoming garbled by white noise. It’s admittedly concerning, but when he was still a baby Digimon, Mordreid found the perfect solution; all he had to do is tell nothing but lies for the rest of his life! So while it was a bit of a struggle while spending his time in the Village of Beginnings, once he Digivolved to PawnChessmon and set out into the grander Digital World, he knew he had the skills to make as many friends as he could!
But things didn’t go so well for the young knight. His abilities give him a rather unsettling aura, and when outright asked if he was an evil Digimon or not… well, you can tell where this is going. Many smaller Digimon can fear him while the older Digimon are more wary than they are friendly.
But Mordreid isn’t bothered in the slightest! Sure, there may be a bunch of Digimon that don’t like him very much because he lies all the time and has creepy abilities, but there has to be someone out there to accept him for who he is and be his friend, right?
...Right?

Phantasmal Scream: Mordreid creates an illusory image formed by the target’s subconscious fears. If afflicted, the target may choose what this nightmarish specter appears like. For 2-Posts, the target must attack the illusory specter, or not attack at all. They are still free to use area of effect attacks, of course. Once the phantasm has been attacked, the illusion fades. Does not affect Digimon of a higher level. 3-Post Cooldown
Black Mist Barrier: Mordreid creates a spectral barrier that appears to block one attack. In actuality, Mordreid vanishes into the shadows, reappearing in a shadow up to ten meters away, regardless of size. Does not work if there are no shadows within range. 3-Post Cooldown.
Shadow Thorn Lance: Mordreid’s weapon becomes covered in tiny black thorns that each let out a scream in various pitches, creating a nightmarish symphony. Other than that, it’s a normal stab with his lance.
Nightmare Armor: Passive Skill. Mordreid’s armor protects him, reducing damage dealt to him by 30%. Electric and Light attacks bypass this resistance, however.

Digimon Name: Gwenniver
Nickname: Gwenni
Default Form: Highest Available
Gender: Female
Alignment: Neutral Good
Skills and Talents:
Disguise Self - Gwenni despises her Digimon appearance and wishes she were a human, to the point where she unconsciously uses her illusory abilities to disguise her true form. Whenever she uses a named ability or creates an illusion, her form returns to that of her holosuited disguise. So while her true form is revealed for a short time whenever she takes damage or attacks, it returns back to her disguised form shortly after.
Stone-faced - Gwenni has an unassuming, blank expression that brings most people to believe she's either stupid or not paying attention. While this is sometimes true, reading her facial expressions is next to impossible.
Master of Illusions - Other than a dour attitude, illusions are Gwenni's only talent, but they're what she excels at. She can make someone experience just about any sensation, be it through sight, sound, smell, or even touch. However, she can only create illusions of sensations she has personally experienced, so she can only make someone experience the burning agony of burning in lava by jumping into a volcano herself. Because of this, her illusory effects scale with her level. Also, these illusions are incredibly complex to weave, and can't be used during rounds of combat. She's got her own illusions for tense situations like combat.
Personality: Gwenni is a contradiction to everyone around her. She's an incredibly private person and almost never interacts with anyone, yet she craves companionship. She wants people to notice her, yet she can't stand being the center of attention. In short, she's friendly, yet incredibly impolite.
Gwenni doesn't feel comfortable in her demonic Digimon form, and often will use an illusory guise or holosuit to hide it as much as possible. As such, she's become a very guarded person as a result. Even so, she craves interaction with other people, and will often seek them out, despite having little to nothing to say.
In actuality, she's a rather gentle soul, preferring to make peace with others and loathes to harm anyone. In fact, she prefers to run away when a combat situation arrive, if only so she won't see anyone get hurt.
However, despite her best efforts to be the sweet and innocent creature she wants to be, she can be disturbingly morbid and says some outright unsettling things at times. But deep down she's a good-hearted person that just has trouble understanding basic social cues at times.
Holosuit/Illusory Appearance:
FaceClaim: KATEKYO HITMAN REBORN! • chrome dokuro • Gwenni
Personal History: Perhaps it was simply due to her species, or her rather morbid outlook on life, but Gwenni has always been considered a little off-putting to her peers. Even as a baby Digimon, she was considered an outcast and shunned from all the little baby cliques that formed around her. Well, all the cliques but the "let's throw rocks at Gwenni until she goes away!" club. As such, making friends wasn't easy for the little Digimon.
As she got older, and her illusory powers began to manifest, she began to use them to disguise herself to get closer to others, but once she was found out she would be further ostracized by her peers. Now people didn't trust her because of what she had done, but what she could be capable of. Not understanding this, Gwenni blamed herself for her failures and her self-esteem took a further nosedive.
When she was able to set out to the greater world, Gwenni further developed her illusory skills, using them to travel the world safely while avoiding contact with others as much as possible. She was a monster, after all, so she tried to keep to herself. Unsurprisingly, the lonesome road proved to be too lonely for her, so she devoted her life to helping others from a distance, in whatever socially-awkward, uncomfortably-morbid methods she can muster.
One day during her travels, she discovered a Digimon with a human partner. Humans were strange, alien creatures, but the Digimon seemed to get along with them. Which triggered a change and a spark of jealousy within Gwenni. Ever since, she's desperate to be seen as a human, sometimes wishing that she actually was a human instead of being a Digimon. After all, if she were human, she wouldn't have her illusion powers, and no one would hate her for them...

Fighting Style: Uses illusions to trick her enemies and run away.
Abilities:
Illusory Form - Passive Skill. Gwenni is incredibly self-conscious about her true form and doesn't want to let others see it for very long. Whenever she uses a named ability, her form retains her illusory human appearance, though her true form is revealed for a brief moment.
Illusory Attack - Creates an illusionary blast that envelops an area 10m in diameter. The appearance of the attack is up to Gwenni's discretion. If the opponent's a good sport, they might use a defensive skill to block it, which it does. Otherwise, the attacks overstimulate the afflicted party's senses, blinding or deafening them for one round, depending on the illusion created. Affects creatures of her level or lower. 2-post cooldown.
Illusory Vanish - Gwenni uses her illusory powers to turn herself and her allies invisible. In actuality, this in of itself is an illusion as their real bodies had already vanished and are 15m away. In effect, this ability avoids attacks (her level or lower) that are smaller than 30m in diameter. 3-post cooldown.
Illusory Heal - For some mysterious reason, the injuries from a single target disappear... or was their injury an illusion in the first place...? It's effectively a roundabout healing skill. 2-post cooldown.

Illusory Heal - For some mysterious reason, the injuries from a single target disappear... or was their injury an illusion in the first place...? It's effectively a roundabout healing skill. 2-post cooldown.
Illusory Vengeance - Gwenni unleashes an attack on the opponent... an ability that the target had previously used on Gwenni earlier in this combat. Except the attack isn't actually real, so it bypasses defenses and ignores immunities, so a Meramon that's immune to fire damage still feels the burn. Any healing, damage, or additional effects this ability inflicts fades away at the end of combat. This move cannot copy OPT skills. Cooldown on this move is equal to the cooldown of the move copied +2.
Illusory Treasure - Gwenni creates an object of the target's desire that lasts for three posts. If the treasure is an object, it looks and feels exactly like how the target wants it to. If it's a person, then the illusion says exactly what the target wants or needs to hear. How the target interacts with the treasure is up to the player, and they can simply disbelieve it if they have reason to do so. No one can see the illusion other than the target, not even Gwenni herself. If anyone attacks the target, the effect ends immediately. Not necessarily practical for combat, but can be highly therapeutic. Because this effect is optional, it can affect any Digimon or human, regardless of their level. 4-post cooldown.
