As things stood, Labramon had free rein to roam wherever he wanted to go. The bad side was that he didn’t really know if the direction he was going to was the correct one, but it wasn’t like he had much of a choice in the matter, except for guessing and hoping he was correct.
Or, at least that was what initially happened. Eventually, the canine picked up Becky’s scent, which was probably good news; it meant she had also managed to break out from her confinement, and was probably searching for clues on Tadayoshi’s or his possessions’ whereabouts. That, however, prompted a new question to spring into Labramon’s mind.
Should he join Rebecca on her search? There were both good and bad sides of traveling in a larger group while trying to be stealthy. Luckily, he had the luxury of being able to make a somewhat informed decision about the whole deal before deciding, courtesy of the Choromons. Once he was certain regarding Becky’s position, Labramon would point in that direction and hopefully the digimons would discern his intent; he pretended for them to scout ahead and hopefully bring a rough summary of the situation. If it looked like things were going smooth for her and she was well on her way, chances are that Labramon would go on his way as well.
However, if she was struggling, joining forces was probably for the best, at least temporarily. Thus, at least for the time being, the canid tried to obfuscate his presence while waiting for news. Just then, he’d decide how to proceed.
