“Oh, you’re just worried about space? That’s not an issue at all!” Magnus’ expression relaxed quite a bit when that was the question Airi decided to ask. “Unlike most chosen types, xros generals can store their digimons inside their xros loaders for ease of transportation. At least the person who was in charge of creating these things was smart enough to foresee that. Else it’d be an utter mess.”
“Most digimons don’t like being inside those for long, though. So only use it when necessary. Most of us like going outside!”
By now, this kinda felt like an interactive tutorial, didn’t it? Not like that was a bad thing, even though it could sound a little overbearing or boring. Considering how Sable and Airi were just throwing roses at each other, that was quite likely, yet still entertaining somehow.
“Let’s just hope Ivori’s alive and well, then. And that she’s living a happy life! Every digimon that dies violently kinda deserves that.”
Good wishes towards somebody not present at the moment were probably not the highest priority for the group, considering the nature of the situation they had in front of them. If one judged by the amount of cracked eggshells around, whatever was around ran the risk of being quite the dangerous individual. And probably an imminent danger to the egg that the twins and Magnus were looking for.
“Let’s just hope we can handle this. You can remain behind. Katherine will lead the way.” The brunette seemed oddly calm for this kind of situation. Katherine? She even looked excited? Akemi was doing her best at summoning up her courage, even though that resulted on being only inches ahead of where Magnus was standing.
“We kinda can’t evolve. At least as far as I know, the deal with xros generals is that their digimons can’t do so individually. That’s the whole deal about the army and that jazz, remember?” Sable herself should know this! That was the very reason why she said she was stuck at Sistermon. Not the most opportune time to play dumb, mind you.
The group slowly followed the trail of broken eggs, its amount increased until they reached a den of sorts. There, more eggs that had been completely pried open could be observed, as well as many more that weren’t. Inferring where they were was quite easy.
“Seems like whoever is behind this isn’t at home at the moment.” More than enough of a prompt for Magnus to begin searching for the specific egg his xros loader was pointing at. “What should we do about all these? I doubt we can get them all somewhere safe before it returns.”
Maybe Sable or Airi had a brilliant idea? Magnus was kind of busy to think at the moment, and none of his partners were particularly adept thinkers, sadly.

Magnus seemed to have had an answer for every one of Airi's questions, and his answer on Digimon storage raised two points for the girl. He said chosen types, which meant there were other types of Digivices, she presumed. Seeing how crazy this Xros thing was, she didn't think she could fathom what functions other Digivices would have. And secondly, it would explain why Sable was in possession of Airi's Digivice. If she could just put Sable away at will it would eliminate any threat she could pose to her. And it didn't seem like most Digimon particularly cared for it, either, judging from what Katherine said.
Sable just nodded to Katherine regarding comment about Ivori's well-being. The topic was either getting too personal or too irritating for the Sistermon, and Airi couldn't quite determine which one just yet. She even ignored Katherine's comment about evolution, hiding the smallest of sly smiles. Airi wondered what Sable was scheming, or if she was just trying to annoy them.
They followed the trail of eggshells to what seemed to be... something's den. Where a pile of egg shells mixed in with some... possibly living eggs. Either way, Magnus had found what he had been looking for, she presumed. He lamented the fact that he couldn't save them all, but Airi wondered why that was.
"Indeed, it would be too great a risk to try and recover them all..." Sable said, clasping her hands together as if in prayer. "We can only pray for the salvation of their Digital souls..."
They were just eggs, right? What was so wrong with that? Sure, the egg Magnus might have been looking for might have been special, but what's wrong with a beast eating... It didn't take Airi any longer to understand why the group seemed so horrified.
"I don't get it, onii-chan!" Airi said. "Can't you use your Xros Loader to store little eggs instead of Digimon? And if there's a monster eating these, shouldn't there be someone in the Digital World who deals with this kind of situation?"
"It's never so simple, my dear child..."
"And if there's not, then can't we deal with them ourselves? 'Cause there's a bunch of us here, and we can plan an ambush or something! Or we hide the eggs here in the cave where the monster isn't likely to look, and once they see the eggs missing they go out to investigate! Then we can have more time to get them to safety, right?" She gripped Magnus's hand with a wide smile. "I'm sure you're strong or smart enough to be able to do all that stuff, onii-chan!"

In all honesty, it was either baffling or surprising how Sable could mutter nonsense about piety and salvation in a situation like this one. The possibilities of imminent danger that the group might not be able to handle was looming above them, and that demanded swift actions.
Airi’s outlook on what was about to happen a lot more justifiable, given how she didn’t know a lot about the Digital World. It was a valid question, even though its answer would probably not be of her liking.
“Wish it were as easy. Xros loaders are finicky devices; they won’t let anything enter them unless they deem it a member of the xros general’s army. How do they discern that? Hell if I know.”
The easy way out wasn’t an option for them, which left them in a very strange variation of the trolley problem. Of the thirty or so eggs there, the group would probably be able to carry ten at most, and even that might’ve been a bit generous.
As Magnus closed onto the egg meant for him, Airi proposed another solution. To remain there and apprehend whoever had been responsible for such an atrocity. Was that a viable solution? It was certainly on the heroic side, but… also a something liable to fail.
“Guess we can attempt to do that, even though we should have a contingency plan in case we’re grossly outmatched. I… think we can do it, but I’ll need both yours and Sable’s help. Think you’ll be able to pull it off?”
Things could go horribly wrong and the group could end up injured or worse, but… Airi had pointed out what was the right thing to do, all while Magnus had opted for the easy way out as his first option. It’d be a bit embarrassing once everything was said and done, but one could say without a shadow of doubt that the small girl was the true hero of the situation.

Seriously? His only reasoning was "I don't know how, but it just works (or doesn't work) that way"!? What kind of useless contriving answer was that supposed to be? If those damned Digivices were so powerful and special, shouldn't there be people researching them day and night? Especially if they were powered by some unseen force, Airi was pretty sure some corrupt government or business would play trillions of yen just to get their hands on some super-great technology or whatever!
But then Magnus entertained Airi's rambling suggestions... and of all of them, chose to do the one where they ambushed the enemy? He wanted to ambush a big bear of lion or whatever kind of monster that lived in a cave!? He asked Airi and Sable for help, and Airi's eyes simply widened in shock.
SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! She turned to Sable, and though the Sistermon did a much better job at hiding it, she could tell that the Digimon was just as nervous.
"Y-yes, well... we should umm..." Airi had never seen Sable flustered like that, but it wouldn't last long. "We should prioritize the safety of these eggs moreso than any combat! After all, these eggs could get caught in the crossfire! So perhaps while one group distracts the Digimon who resides here, the other group focuses on getting these eggs to safety! And since we're just newbies, like you said, we can leave it to you to fend off this beast while the dear child and I escape with the egg!"
Airi glared at the Sistermon beside her. That bitch! She was just planning on taking an egg or two and running away! "I don't know about all that!" Airi replied, trying to hide her anger by playing the ever-innocent little girl. "There's three of onii-chan's group, and only two of us! Don't you think we'd make the better distraction? They'd be able to carry the eggs out much quicker than we could!"
Sable's smile cracked as she glared back at the little girl. "Oh, b-but dear child, that would definitely put you in f-far too much danger! And after that horrifying experience you've had with those awful men, I couldn't stand to see you so frightened anymore!"
"It's perfectly fine!" Airi shot back with a smile of her own. "All of your talk of walking on the path virtue and righteousness has inspired me, Mother Sable! You shouldn't hold yourself back from being the virtuous being that you are just for my sake!"
"Oh, but that is entirely unreasonable for my current capabilities in combat!"
"But don't you believe in the powers of righteousness to give you the strength necessary to overcome this hardship, that of course is but a trifle compared to the hard road that you must walk further down the path of your pious path?" Airi got a bad taste in her mouth as she even began to talk like the Sistermon. Sable leered over at the little girl while she gave a fierce glare back, yet both of them had a sweet, innocent smile on their face.
Sadly, it was clear that these two were just going to keep arguing unless someone stepped in.

Well, it seemed like the initial heroic impulse had lost steam at almost a comically fast speed. Soon enough, what seemed like an exchange regarding strategy turned into… could it even be described? It honestly looked and sounded like a mess, even though it was plainly obvious that both girl and digimon had starkly different opinions.
While Airi insisted on them playing an active role in the plan, Sable didn’t want anything to do with it. Judging by the the first, second, third, and all the following exchanges, it was pretty obvious that they wouldn’t come across an understanding unless somebody intervened in such a conversation.
Such interruption would come from the most unlikely of sources. None else than Akemi herself.
“S-stop it! Y-you can leave if you wanna. You’re h-hindering us by arguing like that.” Her tone was initially forceful, but it became subdued right afterward “Ra-rather than setting a trap here or re-rescuing, we should try to ambush whoever inhabits here o-outside. I think wh-whatever’s been doing this should know the cave’s layout and wouldn’t be i-impeded by the low light. We’re at a di-disadvantage here.”
Magnus nodded right afterward. That had been a pretty impressive assessment. “So, if we confront whatever’s inhabits here outside, they’d lose the advantages they have due to basically being in their den, and the eggs would completely be safe from any form of crossfire, right? That sounds good. I think we can set a small ambush outside, and hopefully take down the culprit before it knew what hit it.”
A plan that had fairly decent chances of being successful was in the works now! Only one thing was uncertain.
“We only need to know more or less what we’re gonna ambush. Think we’ll be able to find any clues regarding the species of the digimon we’re about to fight? That’d help us a lot.”
Regrettably, neither Katherine’s nor Akemi’s tracking abilities were very sharp, especially overland. At least for this occasion, the group was completely reliant on what Sable and/or Airi could come up with.

The two stopped their bickering upon Akemi's suggestion. They looked towards each other and shrugged. Airi really didn't want to go around hunting monsters the very first day she found out that monsters existed, and obviously Sable had reservations of her own.
But what the slime Digimon said was certainly accurate. The longer they stayed in here the more at risk they would become. Plus by fighting in an enclosed space, Airi was worried that Sable's guns would ricochet off the ceiling and walls or something and accidentally shoot the little girl. And as morbidly curious about how that felt, Airi knew there was a time and a place for those kinds of thoughts.
Sable had approached Airi and Magnus all of a sudden and snatched the little girl away. "Forgive me, my friend, but since we're not in any immediate danger, I shall look after this child for the time being! We shall... scout around outside, to see if we can find any clues! Any information we find could be useful, after all!"
"I'll see you in a bit, onii-chan!" Airi said, waving to Magnus as she was carried off by the Sistermon. When they were a good distance away, their facades dropped as they glared at each other.
"What are you trying to do, child?" Sable asked with a cold expression as she carried the girl outside. "Do you really want to risk dying so badly? Did finding out you're a magical monster tamer make you want pretend to be some kind of hero instead of the lowly street urchin that you really are?"
"I'm not trying to be a hero or anything!" Airi said with an angry glare, though she kept her cutesy tone. "I'm just really mad about being kidnapped, and I'm hoping you get your ass kicked in the process!"
"You really don't care if I hurt you right now, do you?" She replied with a cruel grin that sent chills down Airi's spine, but the little girl couldn't back down.
"You can't kill me because you need me," She explained. "And its not like you can hurt me, either, 'cuz that wouldn't be 'following the path of virtue and righteousness'!" She mocked Sable's grandiose tone.
"Oh, we don't have to worry about that," She replied. "All I need to do is carry you off with me, after all! I'm sure I can let whatever monster deal with those three, and I'll never have to worry about seeing them again! After all, I was still trying to find out how to best dispose of them ever since the train. You never know how powerful a human and their Digimon partners are, you know? And good Samaritans can be such a bother sometimes..."
"You're right," Airi admitted. "We should turn tail and run. 'Cuz running away and backstabbing people is all you're good for, apparently..." Airi suddenly let gravity take hold of her as the Sistermon dropped her to the ground. She let out a small curse as she stood back up, feeling a pain. She reached down to feel a scraped knee.
"What did you just say to me?" Sable's voice was colder than usual, nearly freezing Airi where she stood.
"You're too weak to beat some brutish monster, right? It's only natural that you'd wanna run away with your tail between your legs, even though you've got some comrades to help you fight, and it's an ambush at that!" Airi looked away at the Sistermon as she mocked her, and suddenly felt Sable's hands grasp the collar of her uniform and lift her up so there faces were nearly touching. Airi was shaking at this point, but if there was anything the little girl was good at, it was denying her feelings. "Some General I'm gonna turn out to be, seeing as my second-in-command's such a coward..." She felt the grip on her shirt tighten as she turned to see the Sistermon gritting her teeth.
"Listen up, you little shit!" She whispered with vitriol. Oddly enough, her breath smelled quite nice. She supposed good dental care was a staple even in the Digital World. "You seem to be mistaking the little dynamic between us! I'm not going to let some... sticky-fingered little brat with a sweet smile command me! When we do raise an army, I'm going to be the one in charge! Make no mistake; you're nothing but a... mascot! An advisor to my army, at best! So just keep looking cute and keep your mouth shut from here on out!" Sable dropped Airi to the ground but she managed to land on her feet this time.
"So... what are you going to do then, Mother Sable?" She couldn't help but keep up the mocking tone, but Sable had managed to regain control of herself.
"Even though it was no doubt your intention, my little mascot, you've insulted me far too much! I'm going to use those fools back there and eliminate whatever beast may come!" Sable examined the area outside of the cave.
"So... do you actually know what to look for?" Airi asked. She looked around as well, but she was a rogue, not a ranger.
"I have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to be looking for, dear child."

So. What would Magnus' and the twins' plan in order to ambush the egg robber? Finding a preferred location wasn't very hard, considering that there was a pretty obvious threshold where a surprise attack could be set. The cave's own entrance was the perfect place for what the group had in mind. After giving some instructions to both Akemi and Katherine, Magnus left them for a bit and went to search for Sable and Airi. What were they doing, anyway? Maybe the first time the group had been outside it wasn’t obvious, but it became clear that there were far too many scratch marks on the cave's outer walls and in the neighboring trees to not guess that some kind of small-sized, clawed animal was behind this whole operation. Would they be able to discern that? Even if they weren't, the brunette would eventually arrive to the scene and notice this as well. Sadly, he wouldn't arrive in time to witness any of their banter.
“It seems like we’re against… something that’s not that much bigger than a housecat? Know anything that might fit the description, Sable? I know about Agumon and Drimogemon but… their claws are bigger than these.”
A little after those questions were asked, the sound of light movement through the nearby bushes could be heard if one was attentive enough for it. Could it be that their quarry was nearby? If that was the case, hopefully Katherine and Akemi were done with their preparations.

"So was any of that story you told back there true?" Airi asked as she tried looking at the ground or footprints. All she found were faint trails of mostly dried slime. Most likely Akemi's. Even if they bailed right now the cave-owner would know that someone was in their home.
"Most of it," Sable admitted, taking a look around for herself. "I was raised in a temple with two other kinds of Sistermon, that much is true. Everything else is better left in the past, my little mascot." Airi never thought that she would have wanted it, but she probably would have preferred Sable going back to "dear child". Or, you know, actually use her name for once. The Sistermon let out a groan of frustration.
"Azura would have been much better suited for this kind of thing..." She seemed to trail off for a second until she suddenly snapped out of it. "When this mess is sorted out, we are going to correct this glaring flaw in our capabilities," She stated. "We will recruit a minion more suited for this kind menial task. And speaking of menial..." Her face suddenly brightened up with a smile as she turned around to an approaching Magnus. "Oh dear Magnus, it is unfortunate, but we weren't capable of finding any clues that could narrow down our potential list of suspects!"
"The culprit? What is this, some kind of murder drama...?" Airi muttered under her breath before fixing her face with a smile as well. "We're really sorry, Magnus onii-chan!" Then Magnus discussed his findings with them, asking Sable for her opinion. Airi's "partner" crossed her arms in thought.
"If we're asking for a cat that is as large as a house, then... Perhaps we face a SaberLeomon! Oh, but that would be far too much of an unfortunate foe for us to handle!"
Airi blinked incredulously as the Sistermon suddenly looked away in shame, yet still had the smile on her face. Was she seriously still screwing with Magnus right now, or did she really not know what a housecat was? No, she had to have been making some sort of terrible joke, right? And what the hell was a SaberLeomon, anyways? Some big lion holding a sword? What kind of bullcrap was that?
"M-maybe it's some kind of snake?" Airi suggested. "There are snakes that like to eat eggs in the human world, so maybe there's some in the Digital World, too! And maybe it really doesn't like the taste of eggshells, so it spits them up?"
Be it through ego or inexperience, it was clear they were either not capable or not interested in discerning the beast.

It was a good thing that Magnus’ observational skills were in its top game. Otherwise, depending on Airi and Sable might as well been a fool’s errand.
“It’s not a big deal. Don’t worry.” One had to wonder how hard the duo had been looking, but it wasn’t like they could be blamed either. Airi was new in the Digital World, and Sable was a newbie when it came to taking care of a human. At least for the time being, that kind of blunder could be forgiven. With any luck, both would become more proficient in due time.
For the time being, Magnus was too busy trying to not facepalm with all his might at the nun’s suggestion regarding the thief’s possible identity. Did she really think that a SaberLeomon of all things would go after random digieggs? That sounded beyond ludicrous.
“I meant housecat not a cat as big as a house. Chances are that if it’s a SaberLeomon, we’re all dead and what we do doesn’t matter on the slightest.”
Before Airi’s own suggestion could be dismissed, a small, orange, house-cat-ish esque digimon entered the group’s field of view. If one didn’t have into account how there was crosses on his eyes, or strange strands all over its body, one could’ve probably said that this was pretty much the spitting image of an orange house cat. It gazed at the group.
The male was frozen in his place; he didn’t expect to find the the responsible here, that was for sure. “What do we do?” He whispered in his lowish voice. “Think we can lead it intro the trap?”
How would the two girls react to this? The Meicoomon didn’t seem hostile at the moment, but that could change from one moment to the next.

The small cat Digimon appeared before the group, while Airi and Sable stood there motionless, staring at the crosses in its eyes. Airi was the first of the pair to speak up.
"Sable, it's just a cat. Can't you just... scare it off with your guns?" She asked, but the Sistermon shook her head.
"That's not just any cat," She answered. "I have a feeling it will be rather... resilient to my attacks..." In fact the Sistermon didn't even pull out her weapons at all. "More than just a fool's errand. Fighting this Digimon without any assistance would be a fool's errand. We should simply proceed calmly for the time being. Angering it would not be a wise course of action."
"But if we just go back into the cave, won't it get angry?" Airi asked in whisper.
"Child, I told you that we shouldn't try to anger it," Sable softly warned, though Airi could tell that she was irritated at her very suggestion. She gave her a look that told her to stop talking, then looked Magnus up and down for some reason.
"But if it's angry, won't it be distracted to notice... you know... Katherine and Akemi?" Airi looked over at Magnus, debating what her next move was. If they all tried to run away, there wasn't any guarantee that Sable wouldn't just shoot Magnus in the leg so they could make their escape. Magnus's partners would be thoroughly peeved at the housecat that was mauling their partner to death and would provide a suitable distraction for Sable and Airi to escape.
It was probably a plan that would work out pretty well, too. Airi didn't particularly like Magnus very much; he was helpful enough but he was kind of dense. But still, doing so wouldn't sit right with the girl. So she needed to make sure Sable didn't decide to enact such a plan on her own. She walked up to him with her back turned to the Meicoomon and grabbed his hand. "Magnus, when I squeeze down on your hand real hard, I need you to play along, pick me up, and carry me back towards your partners. I know this sounds like threat, but it's not; unless you carry me you're gonna get hurt real bad."
She glanced over to Sable to see the Sistermon giving the girl an irritated glare. So Airi was right, after all. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about being able to understand this cruel, wicked Sistermon on such a fundamental level. She could only hope that it was because they were partners or whatever.
Because any other possibility terrified the girl.
"Wowie-zowie!" Airi called out in her cutesy tone, pointing towards the small cat Digimon. "What a cute kitty! I'm gonna go pet it, onii-chan!" She started to pull away from Magnus's grasp, then squeezed the young man's hand as tightly as she could.
Hopefully Magnus would carry the girl off back towards her partners and a hopeful trap, with Sable covering the pair as they ran. If he didn't, things might get a little more interesting.

Indeed, a Meicoomon wasn’t a digimon that could be easily fought. Its small frame could conceal a fair bit of strength, and underestimating it could be a fatal mistake. Magnus proceeded to stare at it as well, noting how it was quite the coincidence that both digimons present had crosses for eyes. The cat proceeded to stare back, even though it began to emit a low hiss. Whatever its intent was, it wasn’t to be friends! “With any luck, Akemi and Katherine are ready now. We only have to play our part.” Both girls began to whisper among themselves, something that seemed to be quite inconvenient in a situation like this one. Magnus was slightly annoyed at them being so doubtful when they had traced a plan before, but doing any sudden movements or gestures probably wouldn’t end well for any of them. Just like… Airi walking towards him with her back turned towards a would-be predator. Was she crazy!? The cat’s hiss increased in volume progressively, all while the brunette held the urge to facepalm at what was happening. Wasn’t the plan easy enough? Least to say, he was a bit taken aback at the girl’s words, even though he had felt that something was amiss for quite a bit of time now. In a sense, it was a good thing that Airi had finally shown her true colors. “Got it.” He responded. “Not onii-chan anymore, though? Gotta say, it was beginning to get tacky.” Coinciding with Airi going back to her cutesy persona, the Meicoomon seemingly transformed, even though it wasn’t quite an evolution. It overall had a more feral outlook; its claws were longer, fangs were more prominent and it looked edgier overall. “It sure looks cute.” Sadly, the teenager couldn’t say those words with a straight face. Oh, that was the signal! As quickly as he could, Magnus picked Airi up and began to race towards the cave at top speed. Meicoomon wasn’t losing much time; after a roar, he began to give chase to the duo. It didn’t take a genius to know that they’d be caught before they got inside the cave. But… that was why Sable was around, right? Being given five or so more seconds would be the difference between a safe arrival to the trap and a getting clawed in the back.

Airi was hoisted up by the young man and taken off back to the cave while Sable followed behind them. Well, at least the young man could follow simple directions. She looked back behind them to see Sable's face glaring at the girl. It seemed she never intended on going through with a fight beforehand. The little girl stuck her tongue out at her partner, though she nearly bit it off when Magnus took a large step as he attempted to flee back towards his partners. And of course, when she looked back towards the small cat chasing them down her face went as white as a sheet. It looked so cute before, but now it appeared to be positively horrifying!
"Sable!" She yelled out as the cat creature drew near. Shouldn't her partner be doing... just about anything right now? "Do something, damn it!"
Sable spun around on her heel with both arms outstretched towards their pursuer, a gun in each hand. She took a quick yet careful aim before pointing her t-shaped weapons towards the Meicoomon.
"This entire situation is out of hand!" She yelled out firing off a series of bullets in front of the Meicoomon, rather than shooting the beast itself. She didn't expect the attacks to deal much damage, so the attacks were a deterrent, hoping that its own survival instincts would be enough to slow the cat down for just enough time, rather than anger it by pelting it with Rookie-bullets that would incentivize it to speed up.
We doin' this? I dunno, but here's stuff or somethin' just in case. Still don't know how combat and stuff works in threads like these.

The mad race back to the cave’s entrance was —no doubt— a losing proposition unless somebody helped the two humans. Thankfully, and after a little prodding from her general, Sable decided to spring into action, and begin to try and distract the horrific beast previously known as Meicoomon.
The distraction worked! Maybe a little too well, but it worked! Recognizing the humans as harmless prey that could be taken care of at any moment, the feline turned around, and now was chasing the nun!
Talk about an unexpected turn of events! “Well… shit.” Unconsciously, Magnus kept on moving towards the cave’s entrances. “I have no ideas. Got any?”
As they approached, while the group couldn’t see anything wrong with the place they were heading to, they definitely could smell it, and, least to say, it didn’t smell well at all! Undoubtedly, Akemi had played a pretty big role in whatever was prepared for the Meicoomon.
Just one question lingered in the air; would Sable be able to finish the job? Or would she find a way to divert the feline’s attention back towards Magnus and Airi? Hopefully she’d be able to deal with this without getting too injured. That’d be a bit of a pity.

"This is exactly why I did not want to get involved in this mess in the first place!" Sable belted out in exasperation as she turned around and ran towards Magnus and Airi. The Digimon ran surprisingly quickly for a Digimon of her level - and in heels no less - but she wouldn't be nearly fast enough to outrun the speeding fuzzy monstrosity.
Airi watched as the Meicoomon moved closer towards her partner. The very same Sistermon that knocked her unconscious and brought her to this dangerous world. Who threatened to hurt her or worse once she woke up and arrived. Who even potentially plotted the deaths of a group of odd-but-friendly people who made the unfortunate mistake of asking whether a confused little girl happened to be alright or not.
All Airi had to do was nothing. Then the cruel, twisted, manipulative, potentially-homicidal, two-faced menace that had plagued her day so far would be out of her skin permanently. She trusted that Magnus and his partners could get out of this mess somehow. Unlike Sable and her, they seemed to have some idea of whatever it was they they did.
And when that was over and done with they could take the girl home and she can go about her days in normalcy, forgetting this weird world ever existed. Where the most exciting thing to happen to her was the occasional surprise visitor during one of her b&e outings.
God damn it. Why did she have to have a partner that made her feel so damned conflicted?
"Hey! If you want to live, throw me my fucking Digivice, you crazy, cat-eared bitch!" Airi shouted at the fleeing Sistermon. Sable looked back at the little girl with a look of shock that quickly turned into a fuming fury as she suddenly tossed the black-and-silver device towards the humans. Airi let out a curse as the device slammed into her hands, but she managed to catch it. "Which one's the fucking storage button on this thing!?" Apparently her fidgeting around worked, as the Sistermon scattered into data and flew into Airi's Digivice right before Sable could be ripped to shreds by the pursuing Digimon.
"This will be the last time that you will ever bring me inside this wretched dev-" Sable's voice called out in a chilling tone from within the Xros Loader.
"Too slow, you cross-eyed furball!" Airi shouted out at the cat Digimon behind the easily-flesh-removable humans.
"Child, do NOT interrupt me when I am speak-"
"Some hunter you are! What's the matter; can't chase down your prey unless its in an eggshell?"
"When this is over, we are going to have much to discu-" But the girl still wasn't paying attention. Instead, she lightly slapped Magnus in the back of the head.
"Yeah, you should probably run a little faster now."

It was now Sable who was at risk; quite frankly, a welcome change of pace. Squishy humans were a lot more vulnerable than a digimon, even though that ultimately didn’t decrease the seriousness of the situation one bit.
Airi proved to be quite the fast and foul-tongue thinker, judging by how she had managed to solve the problem of the Sistermon getting torn to shreds quite hastily. It only took a device being thrown in her direction and some more cursing from both women for the deal to be done.
Meicoomon, on the other hand, seemed to be quite incensed at the taunts that followed; once again, it sets its sights on the two humans, and began careening towards them even faster than before, if that was even possible.
If Airi’s intent had been to anger the cat, he had passed the exam with flying colors. Magnus had to summon every ounce of his strength to get towards their goal in time. Sadly, that meant he couldn’t comment on how funny the situation between the two girls had been, or how he absolutely knew he had to go faster since he had to save his breath in order to keep going.
The smell of whatever Akemi and Katherine had prepared became more overpowering as Magnus approached the finish line, up to the point he had to resist the urge to retch as he crossed the cave’s threshold. He just expected that Akemi and Katherine didn’t confuse him with the Meicoomon…
Luckily, they didn’t. It was only after the Meicoomon passed through that... “N-now, Sis!”
It was bombarded with the worst kind of chemical one; the one that smells like something so horrible you wished you could tear your nose off your face. Magnus did his best to cover his face with what he had at hand —Airi’s clothes, considering he was carrying her and couldn’t use his hands proper— but his body’s desperate need for oxygen after that mad race ended up with him feeling sickened to his stomach. How foul could that be?
Thankfully, the plan had worked like a charm. The Meicoomon had literally fainted from direct contact to a high volume of such a strong smell, and one had to wonder if the thing was truly alive or not anymore. The teen surely knew that if he had been the target of... that, he probably wouldn’t have lived to tell the tale.
“Are you alright?” A worried Katherine approached the two, Akemi in tow. “I almost thought you wouldn’t make it.”
Magnus lowered Airi back to the ground, wiping his brow right away. “Yeah. I think I am. How about you, Airi?”
He stared at the cat’s unconscious form as it began to regress to being a normal Meicoomon.
“It’s a good thing cats have very powerful noses.” he commented in between pants. “Guess we’re safe for now. I guess we should restrain this thing, bring it to the nearest city, and then take care of the eggs. Sounds good for you?”
Maybe take a day off at a resort or something as well. That had been quite the adventure!
