Honestly, it was difficult to know what the right move was. The room's glyphs had changed to red - a light generally associated with traps or alarms - but this was foreign ground, right? Assigning a definite value to any signal, without context, could set the group further back in terms of progress. Still, it was indicative of some sort of reaction - but what had triggered it? Was it because of the group, or independent of it?
John, Toki, and Amelie took a conservative approach - one where they could slip between peace-or-not, erring towards the former. Tadayoshi, on the other hand, decided to take things into his own hands, becoming aggressive in tone and posture - even going as far as to position himself right in front of the ramp, a super evolution and a high-level machine aggressively posing at the upwards ramp.
"Tch... peaceful approach be damned, I guess..."
Datamon was neutral to it, but he had an odd feeling that the rest weren't so keen on the idea. And in the next few moments, there would be the sound of a figure moving down the ramp to the next floor. BishopChessmon (X) might not have been the strongest machine, but the moment its eyes turned - to see the Seadramon dominating the space in front of the room - the machine's eyes would lock right onto the target.
"Level Six Security Breach. Level Six Security Breach." The point on the top of its head began to pulse red, the sound of a siren radiating from its helmet. Worse, it was able to determine and make that call before it even scanned the floor: the Bishopmon's staff would then activate, a spherical pulse of energy dotted with a gridline expanding out in all directions. It didn't do any damage, but what it did do was accurately scan all who would lie within its radius. Levels, forms, even Xros Components - it was trying to simply gather as much information as it could! Tadayoshi and Team Silence's forward posture has been perceived as a threat. An alarm has been sounded.

Things went from bad to worse in a matter of seconds. There was a heavy tension in the room from the moment the walls took on their red hue. It was as thick as a morning fog on the bay of Tokyo. John felt a slight pang of guilt in his heart when not one, but two parties determined that the best course was to Digivolve. He only hoped that he wouldn't end up getting everyone killed.
And now, a lone scout Digimon closed in on their position. Its reaction? An actual alarm and a verbal warning; a call to whatever was listening in this structure. The group was swiftly identified as a level 6 security breach. Fair. They were intruders.
Though, so far, BishopChessmon made no violent actions. They simply attempted to scan the group. Maybe to gather information on them and see if they were a true threat?
John gulped. Maybe, just maybe, by some divine intervention of King Drasil, this mission could still go unhindered without having to shed Digi-blood. That was his hope, at least.
He moved to protest, but Casimeir beat him to the punch.
"Hang on!" he pleaded, stepping forward a bit. "We don't mean any harm! We came into this tower to investigate it because it just cropped up out of nowhere! We only want to investigate and speak to whoever's in charge of the tower, so we can learn about it and possibly enable a treaty!"
John's gaze lingered on Casimeir. He was quite proud of the Agumon. There was a chance they could pull this off.
"That's right," the man said. "We only Digivolved in case we were going to be attacked. We figured the walls turned red because of an alarm, and we wanted to be prepared in case the Digimon of this tower decided to hurt us. You can understand that, right?"
He paused for a while, before adding to his statement. "If you do attack us, unprovoked...We'll have no choice but to defend ourselves. Please. Do the right thing." Just in case he would need to, John grasped his Digivice in hand.

In response to the situation, Toki pressed his hands together as the orbs behind him began to spin rapidly behind him. "Diamond Sanctuary." He said as a structure of clear diamonds began to rise around the group, sheltering the humans from any potential harm for the time behind. It conformed and warped to fit within the structure of the room they were in now without damaging anything along the way.
His eyes opened ever so slightly "Please, stand down." He said as he raised a hand in front of him. "We apologize for our rude entrance, but understand that our actions were out of concern. We simply wish to inquire about the nature of the tower and speak to someone about its purpose. Our methods were, for lack of a better term, dishonest, but I assure you we do not wish this to escalate to violence. And something tells me you do not wish so, either. Otherwise you would have attacked us by now."
The scan that went through was a little concerning, but it didn't prove harmful to anyone just yet. Precautions? Or something stored for later? Either way, he remained as calm as he could. He looked over at Casimeir and John. One last attempt to get things to go peacefully, if only for a short time. He smiled softly and continued to speak as well "If it wasn't us, another group may have resorted to outright attack as opposed to this. But that is only because no one outside this tower knows why you've come here. So please understand we do this from a position of concern. Whoever you are, or whoever is listening through you, please allow us passage through the tower. We will not antagonize you or your own." He said. The tension in the air was palpable. He was ready to fight if he had to and chances are this was the last shot they had to keep things peaceful. If it was never possible in the first place, he wouldn't let that bother him. They'll get through this all the same.

Toki protects the party using Diamond Sanctuary.
Diamond Sanctuary: The orbs behind ZenCherubimon begin to spin around rapidly as he clasps his hands together. A white, radiant structure will begin to form in the area around him. Pillars rise from the base and give off a shining light that rejuvenates himself and allied Digimon. The structure itself also provides cover, boosting defense for Digimon within it, though disappears after one post. (3 post cooldown.)

At this point it was obvious that the group should come out swinging, at least to the members of Silence. Shutmon was raising his blade and about to lash out with it. GigaSeadramon's mouth was sparking with lightning he was prepared to loose. Then Casimeir stepped forward and preempted both of them, knocking them off their attacks for a moment with his distraction. Well that just wouldn't do in the general's eyes. "Cas, stay back!" he cried at the rookie digimon. He even tried to step forward toward the little dino, but with perfect timing that was when there was an obstruction in his way - from his supposed 'team mate,' no less! "What is-?"
Even though this temple wasn't a trap, Tadayoshi certainly felt trapped as he had to watch what unfolded from behind that pillar. Sure, he could have stepped out, but now that it was there it would have been foolish to. That was something his dear partner had drilled into his head practically the day after they met: "Above all else, you must take care of yourself. Without you we are weak." There was more to that speech for sure, but right about now wasn't the right time for the boy to flash back for long. John said his piece. Toki said his. Well... now the boy had to join in, didn't he? Otherwise this team's current discord risked falling into total chaos and ending them all.
"...We've been tasked by the city of Terminus to learn about the tower and its purpose. If we're ready to fight, it's only for our own security." Somehow Tadayoshi doubted that this digimon even understood everything they were saying. Its delivery and body language were so robotic, so... unthinking. If it had the capacity to understand them after all, did it have the capacity to care? Since it was obviously scanning them, he thought it was only fair play for the improved scanner function on his Loader to scan it right back.
Shutmon and GigaSeadramon got the memo. Each started backing off, but neither relaxed. Shutmon's guard was up as he positioned himself in front of Toki's structure and the vulnerable humans within. GigaSeadramon's mouth stopped sparking, but the rest of his body began to occasionally. He was charging power, maximizing the electricity held within his internal battery. Not for a second did he think this would go well, unlike the Shutmon whose facial expression wasn't completely resigned yet. "Come on, man, we don't have to be threats - don't make us threats," he seemed to sincerely plead. GigaSeadramon used Recharge to gain two units of Assault And Battery. -Recharge: This digimon draws in static electricity from the environment around himself. This gives him two units of energy for Assault and Battery (not letting it exceed five). Cooldown: 2 posts.
Assault And Battery has five units of charge.
-Assault and Battery (Passive): This digimon stores energy for his named abilities in an internal energy storage unit. This "battery" can store up to five units of energy and starts with three at the beginning of combat. This battery gains one unit of energy for each post GigaSeadramon does not use a named ability and each time GigaSeadramon is hit by electricity besides his own or an ally’s. Additionally, GigaSeadramon is immune to damage from electricity. Tadayoshi scanned Bishopchessmon with the improved scanner. -Improved Scanner: An improved scanner that subtly displays a Digimon's combat information on your screen. If given a post to clearly scan a Digimon, you learn their name, attribute, type, and family, along with a quick description and two of their signature moves.

The situation was getting tenser with each passing second. It was impossible to discern when —or if— the hostilities would break out. In Amelie’s mind, this was a lukewarm attempt at best, especially considering how many messages that could be perceived as mixed the group was sending. However, it wasn’t Amelie’s station to question a plan when a path had been so taken.
Everyone had said their pieces, and, in all honesty? Neither her nor Loire found the need to add anything to the conversation at hand, even though it was kind of rude to not do so? Oh well, there it went. “We’re coming in peace. No ill intentions from us at all.” Her tone was even and serene. One of her hands was even atop her daughter’s head, ruffling some idle strands a bit.
She decided to withhold herself from saying things like how they would defend themselves if threatened, or that she expected that this offer would be respected for the wellbeing of everyone involved since that was kinda hostile in its own, subtle way. Instead, the duo just stood near Tadayoshi and John in case the humans who —at least to her knowledge— couldn’t turn into digimons at will. That way, Silence, Toki, Casimeir and Shinra could work more freely in the frontline. OOC: In case Bishopchessmon’s scan is successful, Loire’s currently in her ultimate stage under the holosuit.

In all honesty, perhaps the peaceful posturing was a bad idea at face value.
These were automated defenses, after all: it wasn't even clear if these were Digimon with a tangible will. Could they even respond, or even comprehend the consideration given by the intruders? Their words didn't seem to change the BishopChessmon's posture, at the very least, that scan easily covering the entire group - and the various, powerful data signals that went along with it.
"... Error. Response capacity exceeded." Did the BishopChessmon just admit that the responsive force was too powerful for him to deal with? Holding his staff to the side, the chess piece would raise its free hand, and give a snap - and to the group's left and right, the ramps to go up or down would retract and flatten out. Of course - if the tower's defenses couldn't win in a direct fight, then the next best thing to do would be to limit the intruder's movements!
"... Tch... troubling, but wouldn't that have already been part of the tower's defenses?"
The Datamon had a point, but then again, it was still hard to tell if the BishopChessmon had any sort of sentience of its own. Was it an agent of tower, or was it a creation or product of the tower itself? Perhaps not even the menial answer it could give - to Tadayoshi's question - wouldn't solve that question:
"Inquiry. Purpose of structure." Squaring his stance, the machine flatly replied: "Answer. Purpose of tower is to establish territory. Mechanical Digimon have only limited ability to properly function in 'established cities'."
"The Tower calls us." The BishopChessmon's voice seemed to almost recoil at that - and the Datamon, halfway between frustration and scoffing at the situation, found himself giving a wince. Just then, he - and, perhaps every exposed, mechanical member of Team Silence's team - would feel strong feedback in their heads.
The Datamon shook it off, banging his hand against the side of his casing. "Okay, that one is my fault for keeping my wireless on - but I think we can call that a threat." Half split before, the Datamon seemed a touch more ticked off than he already was. "At the VERY least, I can say these signals are invasive. This might be our best, or only, chance to disrupt the signal from the tower outright..."
Though, they would have to abandon their peaceful approach to do so!

Well, the information Tadayoshi gained from his scan was underwhelming but not useless. The problem was that each second used not attacking was quite evidently just making the group's position worse and worse. Now they were trapped! At the same time that the ramps rose and fell and Tadayoshi made a mental note to not to be so passive in critical moments again, GigaSeadramon proclaimed, "Enough of-!" But that was about all he got out before becoming overwhelmed by this- the transmission Kamushi tapped into earlier? Or something else? In either case, the giant serpent had to bang his own head on the floor once to regain a small touch of sense. Being a cyborg was awfully close to a machine type digimon, close enough that the serpent began to thrash in place.
"GigaSeadramon!"
Shutmon didn't announce his move, and from where he was standing it was hopefully awful hard to predict. Whatever the cause, it was grossly unsafe to stay passive any longer. The Beast Man disappeared in a quiet puff, nothing left in his place but an ethereal shadow silhouette that was soon to fade itself. By the time his old shadow dissipated it was (hopefully) already too late. That was when his body completely rematerialized... and it seemed to construct itself out of BishopChessmon's own shadow! As his body rapidly reappeared, he was already aerial, and in the air his body rotated enough for one of his arm blades to slash at BishopChessmon's crown, where that darn siren was coming from. "Hyugh!" That was followed immediately by a second strike to the same place before his two agile feet meeting the ground got him to quit spinning as easily as he'd started. "Whatever you're doin', man, knock it off." Shutmon commanded that with a voice that was eerily much calmer than before as well as through bared teeth. This was one digimon who definitely wasn't peaceful anymore.
"Captain!" The General continued to yell, "What's happening?" His breathing was starting to become faster, as was his heartbeat. He knew this sensation, and he also knew he couldn't forget Commandramon's lessons in avoiding that sort of emotional response: In, one, two, three. Hold, one, two, three. Out, one, two, three. Hold, one, two, three. The square breathing technique really did work wonders. The boy kept his head despite concern for his friend... for now.
But the digimon wasn't doing well. His eyes were squeezed shut with the discomfort, but that just wouldn't do with aiming, would it? Even opened, though, his eyes were half-lidded and strained, his body stiff to keep it from thrashing. This noise is... unbearable! Two torpedos in the ports beneath his frontmost fins spun up. Eyes on target...! He urged himself. Yes! It was working! His attack was working, the launch sequence almost complete. One torp launched with a small delay behind the other, just to make them a bit tougher to both dodge, and the attack went forward! Yes! "T-Torrent Torpedo!"
The problem was that the attack also went up. His focus wasn't good enough. For a second the projectiles appeared to curve toward the target enough that it looked like it might just correct for his distracted state, but that hope was dashed at the very top of the arc. The torpedoes crashed into the ceiling at the height of their curve, where they detonated harmlessly - to any digimon, anyway.
To the structure? That remained to be seen.
"Someone help him!" The boy's concern didn't translate that well; his tone to the others was more bossy than pleading. Shutmon attacked BishopChessmon with Shadow Strike -Shadow Strike: This digimon disappears and reappears in an opponent's shadow, then slashes them for heavy damage with his sword. Cooldown: 1 post. -Quick On His Feet (passive): This digimon is ultra fast and agile, increasing his base speed by 30%.
-Sneak Attacker (passive): This digimon is highly competent at striking at the perfect moments. However, he is designed and trained more for quick engagements not prolonged fights. This fighting style increases his base accuracy by 50%, but his damage endurance suffers a 20% penalty. -[RAM Upgrade Xros] Machine Buster (passive): Due to Kamushi's inherent anti-machine affinity, his attacks release electromagnetic waves from the point of impact on hit, significantly increasing damage against the Metal Empire field as well as attacks from any fusion he is in. Commandramon attacked BishopChessmon with Torrent Torpedo, consuming one unit of Assault And Battery. His own error caused it to miss wide enough that it couldn't harm BishopChessmon and crashed into the ceiling. -Torrent Torpedo: This digimon launches homing torpedoes to deal explosive damage. This ability's accuracy is boosted by 25%. This ability requires consumption of one unit of energy from Assault and Battery.
Assault and Battery has four units of energy at post's end.

Toki's eyes shut once more as he took in the words he heard from BishopChessmon. "I see." Was all he said for a moment. Then, the struggled voice of BishopChessmon as it said that the tower calls to them. This was enough for Toki to come to his decision. "Then it appears the time for words has passed." He said, a hint of fury in his voice. This anger, however, was not directed at BishopChessmon.
Shutmon was the first one to attack. While GigaSeadramon attempted to do so, they were in too much anguish to aim properly. Shutmon had the right idea "Aim for the top of his crown. I get the feeling that's where this awful signal is emanating from." He said as he took a stance, the orbs around his body rapidly spinning around him. He had dealt with manipulation of the mind before. He had seen those who suffered from it. This was not the way to make a positive change on the world. Forceful compliance is a blight upon the world that must be removed. "Moonstone Kata!" He called out as he thrust his arm forward. An orb darted past his arm, then another, and yet another. Three of them shot towards the top of BishopChessmon's head to cause more damage to it and hopefully put an end to the signal for the time being. The others would fly around its arm before striking at its scepter at angles in an attempt to disarm them.
"BishopChessmon is fighting back against whatever is controlling them. I know they are. How they hesitated when they mentioned the tower calling to them. Do not strike to kill. Disable them." He said. The crystalline structure around them began to fade, its purpose currently finished. He took his usual lotus position as the orbs returned from their attack, rotating slowly behind him. "Taking territory by force...making excuses to manipulate the minds of innocents...do not play this game with me. You're just another in a long line of monsters trying to rule with an iron fist. If you truly cared...you would not resort to disgusting measures such as this." He said. He didn't care if the one controlling everything couldn't hear him right now. Toki now knew that whoever was at the top of this tower needed to be brought down.
----
Toki attacks with Moonstone Kata. Several of the orbs aim for BishopChessmon's crown, while the others try to knock its scepter out of its hands.
Moonstone Kata: Through a series of hand gestures, ZenCherubimon throws the orbs around him towards his opponent in a barrage of rapid attacks. Each individual orb strikes once before returning to him.
Tranquility of the Moon Acolyte [Passive]: Each time ZenCherubimon attacks an enemy with an ability, one of the orbs behind him starts to glow and charge up. Up to five orbs can be charged. Each charge can be expended to have an ability deal 10% extra damage for a maximum of 50% if all charges are used. 1/5 charges.

Inaction would hit what could be interpreted as a crippling threshold. In the end, any attempts at pleading with the BishopChessmon had been for naught as soon as it was revealed that the signal the tower had begun to emit was veritably manipulating any machines that came across it. Toki’s spirit form and Shutmon had been quick and agile enough to try to dispose the Chessmon, and no doubt two digimons of their level would be more than overkill against a mere ultimate; unless there was a strange trick or something else underway, the two —or three/four, if John’s digimon/s joined them— would no doubt incapacitate the BishopChessmon in record time. Anything more was probably overkill.
That, of course, didn’t mean the group had solved all the problems there were to solve; there was also the lingering doubt on whether the group had wasted some precious time or not, and if they could make up for it somehow. From her spot, Amelie assessed the situation. “If we can't use the ramps after incapacitating that Chessmon, we’ll have to carve our own path.” It was probably a bit witty to say that, after all, GigaSeadramon had the right idea about that, even though to check that one out they had to wait until after ZenCherubimon and Shutmon were done.
Until then, Amelie began to observe their environment; if the ramps would remain blocked, what would be the easiest way to get around and reach the harmful signal? Even if it implied blowing holes at some walls, Gigaseadramon probably had made enough noise already, so it wasn’t like stealth was an option anymore. If such a route was found —and even if it was a straight line—, Amelie would signal to Loire, who’d nod in response.
Even though there were some things better taken care of first, it seemed. The harmful signal seemed to be particularly insidious, as shown by both Datamon and GigaSeadramon not precisely having a great time. The brunette turned to face Tadayoshi.
“We can’t blow the tower to bits just yet, even though I’m working on that.” Her tone sounded a bit distracted, almost as if the bulk of her mind was occupied with somewhere else. “Best we can do for your friend for the time being is storing him back. At least I think that the signal can’t reach the insides of a xros loader. Datamon's gonna be our main worry, since I think we'll be treading in dangerous waters in no time. I’ll try to watch over him.”
In the meantime, Loire shed her holosuit, her form growing steadily until a fish that had nothing to envy to GigaSeadramon stood there, floating in her previous location. Three stalactites formed in front of her, and were thrusted with great force. With any luck, that’d be good enough as the beginning of the ‘shortcut’ Amelie was trying to create. If it failed? Back to the drawing board. Icicle Blade: Up to three sharpened stalactites are created out of thin air. They can either be used as projectiles or as improvised weapons. In any case, they thaw at the end of the post. Cooldown: 1 post.

Alas; opting to take the peaceful route on this mission turned out to be a fruitless endeavor. John's heart sank, as did his partners' when the BishopChessmon appeared to be nothing more than a drone. A drone sent to investigate the disturbance which the group had made.
Unless...
Toki's instructions and observations echoed in John's core. How BishopChessmon had seemingly attempted to wrest control from something. From whatever was making them its puppet. A nigh mindless machine. John understood that there were Digimon and structures capable of controlling other Digimon on a grand scale. It happened with the Dark Towers, it happened back in the Shibuya Museum of Natural History.
John was partly responsible for the lack of action up to this point. But he was going to make up for it. At the very least, his pleas for peace helped reveal that these machine Digimon may truly not be their enemies. Even if they had to resort to defeating Digimon, the could find comfort with the knowledge that Digimon never truly passed away. Unless they were interrupted.
The man gritted his teeth. He pulled his Digivice from the cradle on his arm and thrust it outward. "Cas! Shinra! Warp Digivolve! Let's stop that signal before anyone gets too hurt!"
Both of his partners became enclosed by a dazzling blue light. They were Digivolving!
"Agumon! Warp Digivolve to...!" "Armadillomon! Warp Digivolve to...!"
"WarGreymon!" "Submarimon!"
John knew that any attacks from Wargremon and Submarimon combined, along with the previous techniques used against their current foe, would simply be overkill. But John had a plan. "Shinra! Take out that crown with some torpedoes!"
"On it!" Shinra responded with a voice brimming with confidence. Her eyes narrowed on the target. Once she locked on to the crown, her weapon ports opened. "Oxygen Torpedo!"
Actions: Shinra targets the crown on BishopChessmon with Oxygen Torpedo!
Oxygen Torpedo- Once locked on to an enemy, Shinra fires off two super-compressed oxygen torpedoes from the silos on her body. This attack is especially effective when used underwater considering the effects of compressed air making an explosion. It causes 2x more damage when performed underwater. [2 turn Cooldown.]

In all, the BishopChessmon was merely an ultimate level, and his command to shut off the ramps to the upper and lower levels was probably far more damaging than he could expect to do against a coordinated effort. The ZenCherubimon or the Shutmon alone had already exceeded his expected ability to respond, and it would have taken little effort for the group to disable him.
However, the assumption that the crown had anything to do with the signal bought the BishopChessmon a moment longer than it would have initially expected. Shutmon's swing would be clean, and the helmet would fly off its head, denting against the far wall - but it also left the beast Digimon open to a counter. That scepter would be swung across, sweeping to connect heavily with Shutmon's midsection, before Toki's effort would blast the weapon right out of its hands.
Ultimately, the ZenCherubimon's barrage threw the BishopChessmon against the back wall as well, sparks falling from its now heavily damaged arm - but that wasn't the extent of the chaos caused in the last few moments. The Torrent Torpedo inadvertently hit the metal ceiling of the structure, its detonation both filling the room with smoke and noticeably cracking the above floor. The other sea monster's efforts were more direct and intentional, the icicle blade piercing straight through to the floor above, right where the ramp used to be.
... Followed by the entire ramp structure for that side of the room snapping, and crashing haphazardly to the floor below.
"... Alright, I understand your 'peaceful' intentions before, but there's no way we're going to be able to keep that up at this point." The Datamon gave an annoyed 'tsk', as the now unmistakable sound of an alarm echoed throughout the upper floors! "I'd say we got about a minute before we're gonna get swarmed."
Even as he spoke, though, he moved to solve another problem: a wire would stretch out as the Datamon passed by, first attaching to the Submarimon and then to the GigaSeadramon. Their displays would briefly see the message 'Averting Override', before that damning signal would become little more than an echo in the back of their head.
"We can either push up and hit them first, or try and hold our position here. Though, honestly, I would prefer being ABOVE the roof we just damaged!"

Thankfully they managed to disable BishopChessmon swiftly. He frowned over at them "Sorry we had to be so rough, friend. We'll make it up to you by freeing you and your fellows." He said softly before returning his focus to what was important. Unfortunately things were off to a pretty rough start. The tower itself was clearly not indestructible if these explosions were rattling it the way it was. He took a deep breath and sighed to focus his mind.
Even though the old ramp was completely demolished to make way for the makeshift icicle one, there were still things that worried Toki about the whole situation "The time for talk has clearly passed. We tried, and while it did not result in a non-violent approach, we do have some more knowledge on what the tower is actually doing." He said. He did not regret trying the peaceful approach. Whatever its consequences, he would bear.
He nodded at Datamon and watched as he assisted Submarimon and GigaSeadramon. Datamon must have had some pretty solid defenses and countermeasures, and he was grateful for that. He had never worked with Tadayoshi or his team before and a part of him worried that the two of them had completely different approaches to handling the mission. There was a slight guilt that his delay for diplomacy might have gotten his Digimon hurt.
Still, he was smart enough to realize that just waiting for the enemy to come to them in an unstable floor was just asking to be cornered in a deathtrap "Let's move on to the next floor. Stay here any longer and we risk being trapped on both sides on a collapsing floor. As risky as it might be, we need to press onward." He said as he made his way towards the ramp.
Before he could even consider digivolving again, he wanted to wait and see what sorts of enemies would await them ahead. If he wasted too much of his energy maintaining Super Mega now, it would likely bite them later. He waited for the others to come to a decision. "Would anyone like to take point with me? This form is suited for mid-range support, so if a close-quarters fighter could take the lead, that would be for the best."

"We know what the tower's for now!" declared the Shutmon through now bared-teeth, "Why don't we just exfil and demo it?"
"Ngh... we need to know more." The sea monster grunted that only after he was able to shake his head violently to regain his senses. That was only possible thanks to Datamon's timely save. The phrase AVERTING OVERRIDE flashed on his HUD a couple of times before comfortably retreating into a single corner in smaller font, a welcome message. "There's still no why."
"Or how," added the general, "it spontaneously appeared, not to mention who or maybe even wha-"
"-Alright, alright. Just tryin' to do it the easy way, y'know?" Shutmon was looking just a bit too casual and relaxed until he watched a small, slightly late piece of the ceiling fall in front of his feet. The urgency of the situation returned to him. To the wolf's credit, he volunteered as quick as he could for Toki's plan. "I'll take point, guys! On me!" he called to the rest of his group, "You got my six, bunny-boy?" Shutmon bumped Toki a bit with his elbow, but the smile he flashed the spirit was a real one; he didn't really doubt his comrade. "Never seen a human get his hands dirty before. This'll be sweet!"
One more affirmative smack on the shoulder before Shutmon would proceed to build up a run straight at the wall. Oh, of course he wasn't going to crash. When the moment was right he leapt good and high and... well, he did hit the wall, but he meant to. His jump only got him about two-thirds of the way up. However, with a kick off of the wall and a backflip he was able to redirect his momentum and get a little extra lift to clear the hole his partners had made.
"It's too high for me," Commandramon began to observe, "I need a lift."
"No!" Tadayoshi interrupted, "It's too dangerous for you. Miss Amelie is right. If Datamon's solution doesn't hold..."
Even though the sea digimon didn't agree, being confident in Datamon's patch, he reluctantly went along with the human boy's point with the unspoken condition that if things got too hairy he would demand to be deployed later. "Understood."
"Defuse and withdraw!"
GigaSeadramon did these things with the aqua and silver Xros Loader pointed at him along with the acknowledgement, "Yes, sir," before he was gone.
Left standing there on that floor without any of his digimon around him, it was at this point that the general had to ask to hitch a ride. In the direction of the Wargreymon he whistled to get his attention and then, "Would you help me up?" GigaSeadramon was defused and withdrawn.

Just as John and company expected; the combined attack against the single Ultimate-level Digimon was overkill. But, at least, it was a swift defeat with little-to-no damage done against the invading party. BishopChessmon was down, and the signal was as well. There was one problem. The ramp and floor it was previously protecting were damaged. A gaping hole remained above the group. With the ramp destroyed, they were left with a few options to continue upward.
Submarimon sighed with relief now that she had needn't worry about the jamming signal. "Thanks, Datamon," she praised. "You're a lifesaver. That noise was gonna end up hurting if I was exposed to it too long."
"Good job everyone," John offered the team. "I'm sorry for making us wait before. I won't hold anyone back anymore." He looked up to what would be their escape path. "Nowhere to go but up, right?"
Casimeir looked back toward his Partner. With his statement and Tadayoshi's request, he knew exactly what to do. "You guys climb onto my back. I'll fly us up to the next floor." The WarGreymon knelt down so those who needed to could find a good footing to hold onto.
The armor-clad Digimon then would turn his gaze toward Toki. "I only have a few ranged attacks. Most of my techniques are for close quarters. So I'll back you and Shutmon up no problem."

Everything was taken care of in the end. It took some moments, but the group was finally pivoting from one approach to another and gaining traction on it. It was a shame that their initial approach hadn’t worked, but crying over spilt milk when the situation called for a switch approach seemed like not where anyone wanted to be at the moment. Soon enough, a plan to move upwards was concocted, and it already sounded solid enough. Was it there much to add to it?
“Shutmon and Casimeir will be our vanguard, which leaves Toki to provide ranged support and I guess Shinra, Loire and me to be the rear guard? Sounds like a plan to me; let’s move out.”
“Shouldn’t we take care of Yoshi and John, though? Considering Cas’s going to engage any potential enemies, I don’t think being at melee of any possible encounters will do the group any good.”
The young woman had to admit Loire had a point there. “Well, do you wanna carry them? It’s not like we have a breadth of choices or anything.”
“Don’t mind it.” If she had any limbs, she’d probably shrugged.
“Well, I guess we can come to an agreement and Casimeir can drop them on your back if he’s about to engage or something. At least, if everyone agrees to it that is.”
Once, or even if, the matter was settled, the group would begin their ascent through the shattered ceiling. What would be there? Time to find out Icicle Blade’s remaining cooldown: 0 posts.
