Cream’s question would be registered by the Shakomon only after she was out of her stupor and Akemi proceeded to begin ‘tending’ to the Kudamon.
Katherine’s face looked a bit troubled, almost confused. “I have no idea why, but it kinda feels like re-encountering an old friend, but it’s almost as if the nostalgia were… overwhelming? I can’t quite describe it any other way.”
Magnus raised a curious eyebrow at the digimon’s words. She had heard something like that in the past, even though not to that point. Not like hearing it before made it make any more sense than that, though. As far as he was concerned, not a lot regarding those words —or the ones that preceded them— made a lot of sense, even though the Kudamon, unlike the eggs, was an alive digimon. Maybe she could shed some light on this issue? It’d be opportune to ask later.
Kudamon, on the other hand, was elated at the positive response from ‘nice lady’. The otherwise active digimon stood still and let the girl and her Terriermon do their magic while the Lopmon abandoned the scene. Sure, an insult had been thrown her way, but it wasn’t like she cared about that. Especially since some introductions were underway!
“My name? I’m Kudamon, but I usually go by Haru if anyone needs a more name-y name! Nice to meet y’all, Nami-chan, Cream-chan, Mo-chan, Kathy-chan, Kemi-chan, Shade-kun, and Maggy-kun, and thanks to Kemi-chan, Nami-chan and Cream-chan for making me feel better!” She made a pause to take a breath. “Quite the troupe you’ve got going on here, huh? Is it a friends’ reunion? I kinda love when friends hang out! I used to do that all the time!”
Haru noted how everyone seemed to be worried about a potential enemy, or something along those lines, especially the dude that seemed straight outta an horror movie, even though he looked like a sweetheart. To those concerns, the digimon waved a paw dismissively. “Don’t worry about that! Nobody’s following me… I think. I kinda injured myself and that’s why I ended up like this.”
At such a confession, both the sisters and Magnus stared at the Kudamon, eyes open like plates. “W-What?”
“Why did you do that? You were almost dead!”
At least at face value, such an admission seemed like plain madness. Haru made a small shrug at that, trying her best to not make her medics’ job more difficult. “Take you guys haven’t heard of the pirates searching for… whatchamacallit?” She seemed to be deep in thought for a couple seconds. “Stevia? Anastasia? Strigoi? Starscream? Anyway! It’s a hidden city, and rumor has it that it has a pretty nice treasure inside of it! And for that reason, pirates all around the Binary Archipelago have been trying to discover where the place is.”
Right now, the trio seemed to have been following what was up. But… “Wh-what does that have to do w-with your injuring y-y-yourself?” Kemi asking the needed questions right there.
“You see, Kemi-chan! I live in a small village in one of the islands of the archipelago; one a day, a crew of rowdy and pretty mean pirates decided to disembark there and demanded for us to give them our food. Kinda rude, amiright? Some told them no, so they decided to capture everyone who opposed and make them their slaves or something. Basically, we had to clean after them and that stuff. Pirates are kinda smelly and disgusting, you know? Especially the ones that smell like raw squid. Those are the worst.”
The expression of discomfort that followed did a pretty good job at explaining why the Kudamon had been pretty much unfazed by the fact she had been covered in a Numemon’s slime moments ago. “That was my life for like three months, until I found an opening! When nobody was looking and most of the crew was too busy being dunkards, I aimed one of the cannons towards the beach, loaded myself in it, and fired! And as you can see, it worked! But… being fired from a cannon while being me isn’t that healthy. I might have misjudged how powerful those things were, but thanks to y’all, I’m still in one piece! So thanks everyone again!”
Quite the story, all things considered. What'd be the group's opinion on it?

"Nostalgia? Hmm..." Cream rest her paw on her chin as if in thought. Nostalgic, yet they didn't recognize their new friend? It certainly sounded strange. "Perhaps you knew each other in a past incarnation, or..." She went back to being deep in thought, but couldn't come up with anything revelatory. The Terriermon just didn't have enough information at this point.
But the Kudamon, whose name was apparently, Haru, shook Cream out of her thoughts with her energetic charisma. She and Shade were the only ones that didn't get a nickname, but she wasn't particularly bothered by it. At all. "Yes, it's nice to meet you two, Haru," She managed to speak in between the Kudamon's pause to get some air. "We actually just met..." She would rather not get too much into details about how they were discovered in such a pathetic state. "We thought we were under attack, but we're grateful that you're friendly."
"Pfft," She heard Mocha blurt out in response to something Shade had mentioned. Cream wasn't able to hear it, so she didn't fully understand the context. "Whatever, I say bring them on. I'm kind of pissed right now, and I could use somebody to pummel!"
"Mocha, don't bully people!" Nanami shot back in response. "If someone attacks us, then we just tell them that we don't want to be attacked! Only then do we beat people up!"
"Whatever..." Mocha replied turning away from the group and looking up at the sky. Though the Lopmon, Nanami, and Cream all turned back to Haru as she gave her story.
"Pirates!? A... hidden city!?" Nanami couldn't help but blurt out in the middle of Haru's story. Cream glanced over to the little girl to see her eyes aglow with excitement and wonder. Cream was beginning to get a bad feeling.
Haru finished her story and Cream gave her a consolatory pat on the shoulder, making sure to be gentle. She heard the growl rising up from Nanami's throat and wanted to head this off at the pass. She needed to get this out before her human partner got any crazy ideas. "It's fortunate you were able to escape, Haru. It's possible that we could aid your friends if we brought this to the attention of the authorities. Pirates can be hazardous to many communities, after all. Perhaps there would be people from Whitewater willing to-"
"Those pirates are just the worst! Pirates should be singing and searching for buried treasure, but only bad pirates capture and rob people!" Nanami cried out in frustration, her brow was furrowed and her face displayed a great deal of anger, though to most she was just pouting. "Mocha! Cream! We should all help Haru get her friends back!" She stood up gesturing not only to her partners, but to Magnus and Shade as well. Cream stared at the girl, unsure of what to day, but Mocha was able to chime in.
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to pass. I'm tired, and I don't wanna set one paw on a boat for as long as I live!" Mocha answered with a shrug. "Besides, it's none of our business, so why should we get involved?" The Lopmon had a cheeky grin on her face as she explained this, and Cream had to wonder what her sister was planning.
"It does involve us, 'cause Haru's friends are in trouble, and Haru's a friend!" Nanami explained. "If a friend's in trouble, then that means you should help them, right?"
"How?" Cream suddenly spoke up. Nanami looked over to the Terriermon in surprise.
"Eh? 'How'?" Nanami repeated.
"Let's assume that us three, Magnus, and Shade all agree to fight a dangerous group of pirates strong enough to bend a whole village to their will. They're out on the seas, and have cannons. How do we catch up to them without risking our lives?"
Nanami was silent for a long minute, until she snapped her fingers. "We build a raft!"
"You want to build a raft. To catch up to a pirate ship."
"...W-w-we'll build a really fast raft!" Nanami looked towards Magnus, Katherine, Akemi, and Shade with a pleading look, her eyes begging them to help her.

Shade found himself blinking as katherine spoke; it felt to them that they were meeting an old friend? There were some cases of mons running into others from past lives right? Or a distant family member of some kind? He figured that was probably the case but the question was could he explain it well enough? The monstrous digimon squatted a bit and tilted his head this way or that. Many of his eyes had switched from watching the sky to watching the kudamon instead.
”Distant relatives perhaps? Friends from another life?”
The his ears flicked time and time again as the kudamon spoke; her name was haru. It was a simple name and really easy to remember; shade nodded his head ever so slightly. Were they a group of friends just meeting up? Cream had that answer covered so he didn’t need to bother wasting his breath.
Instead he’d just watch and listen as the kudamon continued to talk, apparently they had shot themselves out of a cannon to escape a dangerous group of pirates. Which meant that there was a group of individuals running around responsible for making an entire village serve them. Which meant they were probably somewhat strong. The wraithmon clacked his teeth thoughtfully.
The kudamon definitely had guts and he appreciated her honesty in the matter; her solution had injured her somewhat badly but their luck had pulled through. In another time maybe shade would have been opportunistic in this venture but then again… He’d reach out and with a surprising amount of gentleness would give the kudamon a pat on the head; if she even allowed such a motion.
”Haru did good to escape their captors.”
He’d turn his head to Nanami and flicked his ears a few times; Mocha had a point in the matter. It wasn’t their business technically; he could just turn away from this situation but he honestly was curious about this event. The ship must have been passing by recently for them to shoot themselves out of a cannon like that.
”A raft cannot catch a ship. It would be the other way around.”
Shade spoke with certainty and sat down in the sand, gesturing at the kudamon with a thoughtful expression. There were many ways to approach this, but the wraithmon did not want to go into a city to do something about all of this. He’d rifle around in his shadow before providing a waterskin; offering the item to the kudamon figuring them thirsty given their state.
”To catch pirates. Trap yes? Or fly after. Or speedboat. Or tell nearby city about local pirates are in area yes yes? Many many things that could be done and all could work.”
The large creature seemed somewhat pleased with his suggestions even if they were abhorrently simple. He had his reasons for being helpful; given that the people here seemed nice enough and didn’t judge him or run away screaming in terror like the mons from that small fishing village he passed on the way here…

What both Shade and Cream said made some sense. It was very possible that the sisters and Haru had met each other in the past, however… “If that happened, I don’t remember anything about it, sadly. Think she will?”
Maybe it’d be for the best if that question was saved for later. It wasn’t like Haru herself had shown any kind of outward familiarity towards the sisters, and it seemed like there was a way more important issue to tackle first, judging by the Kudamon’s story. It was a good thing that she was proving to be plenty friendly, though!
“Oh, don’t worry! I’m not gonna attack anyone, methinks! Unless you’ve got some lemon biscuits with you. I become the fiercest digimon ever when those are involved!” She tried to display her fierceness, but a sudden jolt of pain made it clear that wasn’t the most brilliant idea she had. “You don’t happen to have some of those with you, by the way? I really could use some right now.”
A cookie was immediately extended her way. “Th-they’re my favorites too. You can have s-some if you w-want.” Least to say, a look of pure elation took over Haru’s face. “Thank you, Kemi-chan! You’re the best!”
Back to the tale! In between munching her cookie and getting pats from both a Cream and Shade, Haru had managed to concisely tell everyone about her predicament and situation. Honestly, not the best, but at least she had managed to abandon that ship. The full story managed to let both the sisters and Magnus thinking; could they do anything to help Haru’s friends? At least the male seemed to be deep in thought about it. In the meantime, the Kudamon shook her head at cream, a measure of sadness in her expression.
“Whitewater knows about this, but they’re simply overwhelmed by the sheer amount of pirates roaming the Binary Archipelago at the moment, methinks. They’re focusing most their resources on protecting their trade and that stuff. Y’know, more important places than the scattered villages in the islands of the archipelago. They even warned us that remaining where we were was dangerous… but what else could we do? That’s our home, and it wasn’t like we’re real estate businessmon and could escape to one of our safer properties or something. We took a risk, but the alternative would’ve probably been worse, methinks.”
Nanami’s own response was unexpected, but at least her heart was in the right place. Magnus himself nodded at the small girl displaying so much bravery recklessness. Helping these digimons was, no doubt, the right thing to do. The wheels on his mind were already turning. Maybe they could do something about this, after all.
In the meantime, Haru got her tiny paws on the waterskin offered by Shade and took some generous sips. “Don’t worry, guys. I didn’t tell my story to garner any pity! I’m sure I’ll be able to resolve this situation at some point… somehow! Just gotta keep on thinking positive and good things will happen.”
It was then when Katherine finally found the moment to speak up. “Actually. I think we can procure a ship.” She pointed towards Whitewater’s eastern section. “Kemi saw a shipyard back when we were on our way towards the beach. There’s a lotta unused ships there, so maybe we can borrow one for a bit! Nobody will notice if we return it, right?”
Oh no; this definitely didn’t sound like a lawful idea at all. “If we can get to the pirate ship, we could aim one of the cannons to the ship itself; if those are as potent as Haru says the damage should be extensive enough that most of the crew should be busy trying to prevent the ship from sinking, or at trying to salvage their treasure if it’s veritably sinking. We can seize those moments to get the prisoners and escape in our boat. It’s going to be a bit risky but…”
“It’ll work, you just have to trust! What do you say, guys? Up to do some rescuing?”
The male didn’t even need to do so. Akemi, in a rare display, nodded vigorously at her sister’s idea. The Kudamon, on the other hand, seemed doubtful about the whole deal. “You’re sure you’ll be fine? I’m too injured to be of any usefulness, so you’ll pretty much be by yourselves.”
“D-don’t worry about that. You sh-should rest for the time being.”
At least in regards to this writer’s trio, everyone seemed to be ready to begin. What about the rest?

"Commandeering a ship doesn't sound entirely pleasant..." Cream noted, stepping away from the main group to join a sulking Mocha. "Even if our intentions are good, does stealing someone else's ship necessarily justify the means? I'm not so sure..."
"My sis is right!" Mocha spoke up, walking up to the group and leaning on her. Which took the Terriermon by surprise. In Mocha's eyes, Cream was hardly right, so much as just an extension of Mocha's genius and wisdom. The Lopmon was definitely plotting something. "We can't just steal a ship just because we want to save a bunch of enslaved villagers from some evil pirates that are so awful, poor Karu-"
"That's Haru," Cream corrected out of habit, though she doubted her beloved sister would bother to remember her name, even if she did listen to Cream, which was never the case.
"That poor girl shot herself out of a cannon in order to escape their cruel wrath!" Mocha continued. "But I suppose the right thing to do is let all those people suffer because borrowing a boat is the wrong thing to do!" She patted Cream on the back to signify their solidarity, while Cream could only wonder why Mocha was concerned about this topic in the first place. Mocha was not someone who thought about the consequences of her actions.
"Cream..." Nanami was staring at the Terriermon with a pained expression. She had never really had to deal with that before. "Do you really think like that...?"
"Mocha's just trying to twist my words!" Cream responded, barely able to stay calm. Was she really getting ganged up on right now? Was this what being Mocha was like all the time? "I'm saying we should find another option that's less risky! What if those ships are unused for a reason? If something goes wrong, can anyone here provide proper maintenance? Forgive me for not knowing everyone here, but can any of us even navigate a ship well enough to track the pirates down? And if we can, wouldn't it be more likely that the pirates would attack an encroaching ship before asking any questions?"
"Cream, Kathy said that everything would work out fine!" Nanami replied as if it were a logical argument.
"Yeah! Cream, don't you trust Clamsy over here? They saved Nanami's life, after all! So if she wants to do this, then we owe them one!" Mocha added on rather disingenuously, moving away from the Terriermon and climbing back up on top of the little girl's shoulder. Why was she so gung-ho about taking down these pirates!?
It wasn't any offense to Magnus, Katherine, and Akemi, but the Terriermon had just met them! Sure they could provide medical treatment and they owed them a big favor for helping Nanami, but sending a little girl who couldn't even swim back out on a boat to surprise attack some pirates out on the water required a certain amount of level-headedness that her partner and sister just lacked the self-restraint to properly execute!
Cream looked towards Shade, then towards Magnus and his partners, and finally towards Haru. Even in her own little group she was already outvoted, so she sighed and nodded towards the Kudamon. "I think it's a terrible idea, but I sympathize with your plight and I'll support my sister and partner with whatever the group as a whole decides."
"Then it's decided!" Nanami joyfully cried out, nearly jumping with glee. "Haru, we're gonna save all your friends for sure, so don't worry about a thing! I know we don't look it, but we're kinda strong!" She flexed a scrawny arm as if in demonstration while Mocha crossed her arms with a cocky grin. Cream... did not participate in their display of confidence.
Cream gave a glare towards Mocha who returned it with a smug grin. She had no idea why the Lopmon would want to help another person for once in her multiple lifetimes, but she had managed to set Cream up to be the bad guy instead of being Nanami's usual voice of reason. Just by agreeing with her, if only for a short time.
"So unless anyone changes their minds, we're willing to go whenever."

”It’s possible…. But there are more important things than that right now yes?”Shade let out a soft rumble and considered the information in front of him; whitewater knew about this but was playing defensive. So a group of individuals such as them would have the freedom to act. The eldritch creature stopped squatting for a moment to start pacing. He looked pensive as many of his eyes blinked out of existence. ”It’s better if we ask for permission than just take a ship. Perhaps even buy one? Shade has many bits he does not use.”The abomination considered it longer and grimaced at the fact he’d have to go back into whitewater. Mocha talking about this entire thing made him pause. She seemed to be playing with the words cream was putting out and he’d sigh softly. ”Shade will help save these people. But only if we do it right. Shade needs a moment.”Shade cracked his knuckles and let out a small growl. His body would take on the light of digivolution for a moment; he needed to hide his form in order to even go into the city. They wouldn’t recognize the form he’d take and they wouldn’t have guards on their asses for him being there. A few moments later; a rather tall wild looking variant of Weregarurumon seemed to take it’s place.. It certainly was gruffer than the prior abomination. ”We should also get some more treatment options for Haru here. They still look rather hurt.”Shade would lean down to gently pat the top of haru’s head a few times and ultimately would offer her a lift on one of his arms. The large wolfen creature was far more gentle and far more friendly than the prior variant of shade it seemed. The less motion she did the better after all. Shade knew how it was to be injured beyond belief. He had come to this area before and had a rough time with the biyomon’s here. ”Other than that the plan sounds solid; if we can though we should keep it as hush as possible. Some might not like the idea of us messing with the pirates.”

The trio witnessed in relative silence how Cream’s protest against what was quite possibly a crime that could get everyone involved —except Nanami. She happened to be a minor, after all— some quality time in prison. It was true that the plan was morally questionable, but did they really have any other choice on the matter if they wanted to help Haru? Probably not, and even if Mocha’s methods were underhanded, they had proven to be both terribly effective and clever at the same time. Any kind of resistance Cream might’ve had prior them was bulldozed brutally. Not very savory, but Magnus could appreciate a job well done, as shady as it was.
“C-Clamsy?” Akemi parroted, once every was said and done. “D-Does that mean that Sis is a s-spy now? She plays a g-game that’s called like th-that.”
Magnus himself was about to correct the Numemon X, but Katherine’s excited expression convinced him otherwise, and he ended up shrugging. “I guess it’s Tom Clamsy’s now.”
“You bet! You can call me secret agent Clamsy now! Let’s initiate ‘Operation: Teaching the Meanies a Lesson’ then!” Nevermind the fact that Tom Clancy didn’t even appear or was a secret agent on the eponymous game, but that was just a small detail.
Haru herself seemed to be pretty happy at how pumped up the group was. Finding them was probably the luckiest she’d been in a while. “Thank you very much, everyone! I wish I could be more helpful but… I’d probs end up being a hindrance if I went with you. Nonetheless, good luck! I’ll be praying for your success.”
Just as they were to set out, however, Shade disclosed the fact that they wouldn’t have to resort to illegal methods to acquire a ship. Well, that was a relief! Even if a bit awkward; who’d have thought the individual with the most money here was a Tartarian Spawn-esque being. Life was full of surprises, wasn’t it?
“Well, that sure takes care of things.” Magnus said. “Instead of a complex operation that involves ‘commandeering’ a boat, as Cream so eloquently put it, just renting a boat sounds a lot easier. Guess it’s quite a relief that Shade’s willing to share his hard-earned money for this cause.”
Both Katherine and Akemi bowed at the generous digimon. “Thank you, Shade-kun! You’ve been beyond kind to me thus far.”
It was then when the shadow-like being began to shift and transform, his form becoming something a lot more… easier to look at. At the very least Magnus.
The Kudamon didn’t move towards Shade’s hand, even though he accepted the pats more than happily. “Don’t worry about me. I kinda… miss being under the sun’s rays, y’know? I might take a bit of a nap over here if you don’t mind. It just feels way too good. Sides! Nami-chan's, Cream-chan's, and Kemi-chan's work should be more than enough.”
With that taken care of, only one thing was left for them to part. “So, Shade! Your money, your rules. Do you know about any place where we can get a boat to help Haru’s friends? You seem like you know this city pretty well.”
And that actually prompted some more questions, but those could wait. Adventure was in the horizon!

"Hrm? Tom?" Nanami tilted her head in confusion for moment at Akemi's misunderstanding. "Oh, so you want to be called 'secret agent clamsy' instead of Kathy... that's a bit of a mouthful but I'll do it!" She gave the Shakomon a thumbs-up while Mocha simply shook her head.
Shade had mentioned simply paying to use a ship, and didn't seem concerned with the price, either. Which meant that he must have quite a bit on him. "We're rather destitute ourselves, so we would be grateful if you could aid us in a manner that doesn't involve committing a crime," Cream mentioned, genuinely grateful that there was someone willing to listen to reason.
It wasn't that she was against helping Haru's fellow villagers, but there was a definite absurdity in the initial plan. Regardless of how Mocha spun it, committing a crime was just absurd. As conniving as the Lopmon was, she wasn't some criminal mastermind, and Nanami was even less so. So even though they were dead-set on stopping the pirates at any cost, someone had to be there to reign them in and keep their expectations and capabilities grounded.
Shade then Digivolved to a completely different form, taking a far less unsettling, yet more bestial form. Mocha whistled in approval while Nanami walked up to him, stopping and asked. "You were really cute before, but now you look... Umm... well you're still as cute now, but now you're... fuzzier?" She struggled with her words before clasping her hands. "Anyway, is there a chance I can scratch you behind your ears? Every time I try to do that to the dogs in the human world they get mad at me and start barking before I can get close!"
"That's 'cause they're afraid they'll catch your stupidity," Mocha commented nonchalantly.
"Wait, you can ca-" She paused for a long moment before speaking. "Mocha! That was mean!" The Lopmon burst out laughing so much she nearly fell off Nanami's shoulder.
Nanami was far too kind and trusting for her own good. Cream still didn't know the full details, but from what the Terriermon could surmise, the girl was weak and frail even by human standards. And still she dropped everything, her school and rather comfortable and affluent living situation to run away from home simply because a newborn Cream and Mocha felt alone and confused in such a foreign world. Regardless of whether they were some kind of partners linked by destiny, Cream owed the simple little girl a great deal more than she could express. The least the Terriermon could do was stop her from doing something too dangerous.
Regardless of whether Shade consented to Nanami's plea for ear-scratching or not, Mocha would turn to Haru and shrug. "Don't worry about it, just yet!" She answered with a cocky grin. "Stay here and get a tan or sunburn or whatever, Maru-chan! We'll take care of these pirates and save your villager buddies! And then I'll have an entire village to spread the word about how awesome I am!" She looked around to the rest of the group. "Oh, and you guys, too, I guess... And Cream."
Cream just shrugged and shook her head. She supposed that she'd just have to settle for being included in Mocha's little power fantasy.
And from there, the trio was ready to set off on the next leg of this journey!

Shade tilted his head about this whole agent clamsy nonsense. He didn’t quite get it but if it made the others happy he wouldn’t really bother with questioning it too much. Shrugging his shoulders the large wolfen mon muse over their options; renting a ship was easier than buying but that poised the question.
Did anyone here know how to drive a ship? Much less operate it efficiently? His eyes swept over those that were here and he’d have to guess that was a no. So he’d have to likely hire a mon that’d be willing to take them on this endevour.
”Hmmph. I don’t suppose any of you actually know how to drive a ship?”
Hearing them guess that his money was hard earned was almost laughable. It was the consistent and almost endless amount of people he had fed off of and in some cases loaded throughout his long lifetime that led to this. Given that he had never spent anything he had relatively deep pockets.
”I know how it is to suffer in captivity. Hearing that there are others still like that does not put my mind at ease. Rest well Haru.”
Shade gave a small shrug of his shoulders as the kudamon didn’t move to be picked up; they did however accept the generous amount of pats. The eldritch being turned his head to katherine as she asked him about where they could get a boat.
During his extensive stay in whitewater and his eventual escape he had learned quite a lot about the city. With a deep rumble he’d consider their options; there were many boat rental locations but actual ships? Actual things that could deal with pirates? He’d close his eyes and blow out a small frosty breath from his nostrils.
”For something to deal with pirates? I’m not entirely sure if anything we could rent would work. Small speedboats would let us catch them, but board and deal with them? I’m not entirely sure.”
The mon turned his head to look at Nanami as they spoke to him; he was cute before? The wolf blinked a few times and shrugged at her second question; kneeling down to allow her to do so. He didn’t much mind someone touching him that he had gotten used to.
”Go ahead. Hmm.”
The Wraithgarurumon wouldn’t really react past a small tailwag and flicking whichever ear that the human scratched behind. Shade let out a soft thoughtful hum and after a few moments…
”So my thought is we hire someone that knows what to do and a ship that could easily catch a pirate vessel. If it’s as large as I’m thinking it won’t be too fast… But I think we’re forgetting something very important here.”
His eyes looked to haru and he’d provide a small notepad to the little kudamon.
”Could you write down everything you remember about the pirate ship? Colors? If they were running a flag of any kind? What kind of ship it was?”
This also begged the question of how they were going to find it around here but shade had a few ideas. If piracy was an issue around here there would be someone knowledgable about that right? If haru was able to provide them with information then the wolf would be happy enough to lead them back to whitewater...

If there was a plan to execute this operation, it surely seemed like a good deal of the members involved didn’t take it with the seriousness it deserved. But, could there really be any other possible outcome in a situation like this one? Namami was a small girl, and every digimon present that wasn’t Shade —or Cream, on certain occasions— was critically lacking on the maturity department. Would this critically endanger the mission? Somewhat likely, but it wasn’t like an alternative existed. It’d have to do like this.
Katherine looked positively elated at Nanami showing approval for her new undercover agent name, all while Cream thanked shade, and the digimon himself asked if anyone had any experience on driving a boat.
“I do, actually.” Magnus replied right away. “I’ve never driven anything larger than a yacht in case that’s a problem. But I consider myself pretty decent at it.” His words could’ve been interpreted as if he was bragging, but his tone didn’t sound like it. Guess he could credit that skill to being an only child in a family that liked to vacation in the sea.
All in all, it seemed like the group had a somewhat solid plan, and Shade was doing an amazing job at strategizing how they’d come around to capture the evildoers. Some exchanges later, it seemed like the group was ready to go, even with Mocha bidding a ‘heartfelt’ farewell to Haru.
“I could sure use some noodles right now.” The Kudamon replied, a grin on her face. Wouldn’t that count as cannibalism? It was probably a question worth of intense debate that luckily nobody had the time to answer, especially when it seemed like Shade wasn’t exactly done with the pipe fox! He provided her with a notepad, all while Haru began to write.
“Well, I guess we’re good to go once Haru is done giving us the info. I guess that in the meantime we can…” Whatever the male was supposed to say next was rudely interrupted by his xros loader vibrating loudly and trilling somewhat unpleasantly. The male dug into his shorts’ pocket, and without even asking, the device projected three eggs that plopped in the sand below; one near Nanami’s group, one near Magnus’ group and the last one near Shade himself. At first, it was hard to discern why that had happened, but soon enough, some hairline cracks would be pretty apparent by the surface of the three eggs. It wasn’t hard to guess that they were about to hatch!
Magnus almost comically froze that very second, not very sure on how to react; sure, he could save the life of a little girl without doubting. But a birth!? That was an entirely different matter! He wasn’t prepared to be a father yet. Luckily, Akemi and Katherine were rather fast to act; it took the two of them to pick the rather large egg that was near them. The Shakomon held it in between her shell while the Numemon X began to gently rub its surface.
“U-uh.” Akemi stuttered a bit, sounding somewhat unsure on how to address the situation. “I d-don’t know if you know, b-but eggs n-need rubbing to ha-hatch. D-D-Do you mind us giving a hand o-or two?”
This time at the beach had definitely been more eventful than what everyone had expected! Even Haru had stopped writing her annotations to witness what would be the birth of not one nor two, but three digimons, observing how everything happened with curious eyes.

"Hee~hee~! Scritchy-scratch! Who's a good boy?" Nanami giggled as she scratched behind the ears of the hulking wolf Digimon, who seemed into it for some reason. Much to Nanami's dismay, Cream wasn't exactly the type that liked to be petted, however, and Mocha was completely out of the question. So she figured she'd let the girl have this moment despite the serious situation. When the moment passed the girl seemed just a little bit more fulfilled.
"I've never done it before, but I could try! I bet I'll be really good at it!" Nanami piped up when Shade asked if anyone could pilot a ship.
"That's what you said on the last ship we were on," Mocha commented. "And then you started throwing up over the side."
"It won't happen again!" Nanami stubbornly stamped her foot on the sand. "I'm definitely gonna hold it all in this time!"
"No, that sounds even worse," Cream commented, turning to Magnus as he offered his expertise on the matter. Cream nodded before Nanami could say anything, and Shade provided an alternate strategy of simply hiring someone with a ship. "It may be difficult to find a Digimon willing to chase out pirates, and I'd prefer it if we didn't put someone's life at risk without telling them beforehand. Then again, if it can help remove some pirates from the area, things may work out for the best..."
"A small ship probably wouldn't work," Mocha commented, picking a booger out of her nose. She moved to rub it off on Nanami's shoulder, but the girl was paying attention this time and gave her an irritated glare. Mocha flicked the booger into the sand before continuing. "We've gotta get the villagers out of there, right? Transferring them over would be a pain. So we should get one big, slow boat that couldn't possibly outspeed their ship."
Cream tilted her head in curiosity as Mocha continued. "If they're searching around for some treasure, that means they've got their stomping grounds, right? We play dead in the water and there's no way that a group of pirates wouldn't pass up the opportunity for pillaging. So we sneak on board their ship while they board all their best fighters on our own ship, then we blow it the hell up! Boom!" Her ears flew up to exaggerate, nearly slapping Nanami in the face in the process. Mocha gave a wide grin as she added, "Then we waste whatever crew's left over, and watch whoever's left cry as we run away with their ship and any treasure they got along the way! Bad guys get taken out, bullet-weasel's buddies get saved, and we get richer! How's that for a plan?"
Cream didn't even want to begin pointing out all the holes in that incredibly dangerous and reckless, but was planning on it anyway. But before she could speak up, Magnus pulled out his glowing Digivice - one the Terriermon saw once before back in the human world.
"Oh! Kazumi had one of those! That's an Lacross Holder!" Nanami said, also spotting the device.
"Xros Loader," Cream corrected.
"Hehehe... It's such a funny name!" She chuckled as three eggs appeared out of nowhere. One appeared near the girl's feet as Cream ran up to it. It looked like it was about to hatch. "Oh, is that how Digibabies are born? That seems a less painful then how humans do it!" She kneeled down to touch the Digiegg. "Ooh! It's warm! Just like how it was when Mocha and Cream were about to hatch in my bed!"
"Give it a gentle rub and help it along then, Nanami," Cream suggested, placing one of her ears on the egg to demonstrate.
"Gotcha! Oh, but..." She rotated the egg a little bit before rubbing it down. "There! If it hatched when facing me it would think I was its mommy, right? But I don't really want that, and if it came out of Maggy's Digivice then that means he's the mommy!"
"Then how exactly do you know what direction it'll be facing?"
"Mmm... Instinct!" She answered after an uncomfortable pause.

Shade was fairly certain they’d be okay; even if there was a few members that made him pause or consider handling it in some other venue. The issue is that venue also required him to not be a wanted mon so he was forced to deal with this with the hand he was dealt. His eyes flicked to Magnus as he said he knew how to drive something about yacht sized.
”That should be good enough.”
The wolf rubbed at his chin as he thought over the best way to approach this; there had to be some way they could come out on top with this situation. It was also strange that the predator was being so helpful; but perhaps that was because of the mons he had fed off of for so long. There was that pack mentality even if he didn’t really like it.
”Eh?”
The confused noise that followed suit and the wolf’s eyes were drawn to that xros loader; rubbing at one of his ears he’d grimace just a little bit. That loud and unpleasant noise did not help things. Mixed with the ear scratching and other answers he was provided the wolf just snorted a bit and shook his head.
”What is that infernal-”
The egg that appeared near him yielded a strange gaze by the large creature. He’d slowly squat down, staring at it in confusion before something else took hold of him. His hands reached down to pick up the egg with an infinite look of gentleness crossing his face. One hand was large enough to hold the unnaturally large thing and the other gingerly ran it’s fingers along the surface of the egg.
”It has been many many years since shade has seen one of these. Mons in the wild do not usually get to see them unless they have a mate.”
The wolf rumbled out lowly and flicked his ears; mocha’s plan had a lot of holes now that he thought about it and the large wolf took a seat. He was being careful witht he egg that had appeared next to him and with it now sitting in his lap with either hand gently keeping around it it wouldn’t be going anywhere or be in any immediate danger with the wolf.
”Mochas plan has a point; but it’s largely full of problems. But… I agree that we can use a ship to get them to come to us rather than come to them… Or go even a step further and find a ship that would be going through those stomping grounds and take them out that way. There's hundreds of ways to approach this. But for now… We should focus on these eggs.”

For an unfathomable reason, color drained from Magnus’ face as Nanami suggested driving a boat without prior experience of it. A good way to get an early, watery grave, if anything. Luckily, both her partners were more than adept at shutting down what amounted to a very, very bad idea. However, the information gotten from the exchange made him realize something of possibly vital importance.
“Nami suffers from motion sickness on a boat?” He asked no one in specific in the trio’s general direction. “That could come back to bite us if we try to do something quick and sneaky, especially on a small boat.”
In an admittedly weird gesture, he brought out his wallet and reached deep inside it, in a manner that made it quite obvious that wasn’t what it looked like; from it, he retrieved a blister pack and offered it to Nanami with a smile. “It’s motion sickness medication. I brought in here just in case, but thankfully the girls didn’t suffer from it.”
Which were excellent news, by the way! Nothing he would say out loud, but Kemi getting an upset stomach wasn’t something the male wanted to witness ever, and taking measures to prevent it seemed like the correct choice. “It’d be a shame if such a nice group of sailors got sick, amiright? Gotta ensure everyone will be on tip-top shape.”
Despite how Cream had been a buzzkill moments ago, she was genuinely being the voice of reason at the moment. Something that was definitely appreciated! “I agree with C-chan.” Katherine piped in. “I don’t think involving more people will make things necessarily easier for us. Sides, if Magnus says he can do it, that means he’s pretty confident about it! He’s usually the last person to say that kinda stuff.”
“Hey! That was uncalled for!”
“Hey-ing ain’t gonna make it any less true though!”
Only then was when Mocha decided to disclose her plan, which admittedly had… more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. Luckily, before anyone could point those critical flaws —at least for the time being—, the eggs spawned and everyone seemed to be quite happy to help them hatch! One egg was being held by Cream and Nanami, another by Shade, and the last one by the sisters. It took some gentle rubbing, but the eggs would progressively crack more and more until the uppermost part of each came off, promptly revealing the digimon inside!
Shade got a Choromon who just stared at him with bright red eyes, even though he seemed immobile. Cream and Nanami got Pitchmon that, while initially facing in the direction the girl had predicted, quickly turned around and waved energetically at them with a smile. And finally, Katherine and Akemi got a predominantly-blue puwamon that immediately jumped down the Numemon X’s arms and began to bounce around.
“Isn’t that a colorful ensemble?” Haru commented from her spot in the sand. “Do you think they have names already, or maybe that they need them. Maybe neither.” Her disposition seemed to have improved as she offered the notepad back to Shade. Over there, the information exposed was actually pretty detailed; the group was against a 40-gun battleship that had a CaptainHookmon for… well, captain. The crew was mostly composed of Black Galgomons, Revolmons and Orcamons, and it seemed to be laid out in such a way that there was a dungeon-style chamber by its portside’s deepest level. Quite impressive, all things considered. “Hope that’ll be helpful enough. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask though!”
Seemed like everyone was good to go, weren’t they? Well… if it weren’t for the fact that Magnus was still comically petrified. Maybe he needed somebody to snap him out of it?
“W-Wouldn't it be bad if we rented a boat then d-d-destroyed it?” Once the dust settled, the Numemon X found opportune to ask Mocha that. Her sister was kinda busy chasing after a rebellious baby, after all. “It wouldn't be v-very nice to the boat-renting person, I th-think. W-Wouldn't a less destructive p-plan be better?”
Just to not be that person who dismisses others' ideas without giving out her own, she spoke next. “M-Maybe we could use two b-boats? A b-bigger one that'd act as a de-decoy and a s-small one to sneak i-inside? We'd j-just have to follow the s-shadow of any biggger ve-vessel that navigates that a-area.”
Would that idea get traction? It was hard to know, considering their group! But at least it was worth a try.

Magnus went pale for a bit, then walked over to Nanami and handed her some drugs, pulled out of what looked to be a brand new wallet. But the girl simply shook her head.
"S-sorry, but I can't..." Nanami stated. "B-but it's not 'cause I don't trust you! Mom said that I can't take anything without a doctor's permission, 'cause it might interfere with all the pills that I have to take to survive!" She clenched her fist and tried to look as resolute as possible. "But I promise I'll do my very best! I wasn't feeling so bad when we got attacked on our last boat, so if we get into a fight, I'll definitely be too scared to throw up!"
Cream climbed up to Magnus's shoulder and whispered, "I don't really get how humans work all that much, but apparently she has to take a bunch of pills because she was born broken and had to get a heart replaced, or something. She doesn't seem too sensitive about it, but she also doesn't like to bring it up, so please continue treating her normally." She jumped back down next to Nanami.
"Cream, what were you whispering to Maggy?" Nanami asked.
"Secrets."
"Secrets! I like secrets! Can you tell me?"
"No."
"Oh..." It was then that Shade made his comment about eggs, and having a mate. "Eh, a mate? But if Maggy had these eggs..." Nanami looked towards Akemi and Katherine. "But you're sisters, right? So that means..." She looked over towards Magnus and gasped. "Maggy! Partners aren't supposed to do stuff like that... I think!"
"Do stuff like what?" Cream asked, wondering what kind of nonsense Nanami was on about now.
"Y-you know..." Nanami answered, her face reddening for some reason. "L-like the stuff you d-d-do to make b-babies and stuff..." Cream was about to ask the girl for more answers, but the eggs began to hatch in unison. Much to Cream's chagrin, a Pitchmon hatched facing towards Magnus. She looked up to her human partner to find her playfully sticking her tongue out at the Terriermon. The baby Digimon turned around to face them, and Nanami didn't have time to say "I told you so", for she was too enraptured by the cuteness of the Digimon.
As for Cream... babies weren't exactly her thing. She'd been in and out of the Village of Beginning far too many times to want to deal with a bunch of baby Digimon ever again. Not to mention the constant baby she's had to put up with over the course of several lifetimes. So the Terriermon simply nodded.
"Good morning! Welcome to being alive!" Nanami said with a cheerful tone. "My name's Nanami, and it's nice to meet you!! And what's your name!"
This wasn't exactly Cream's forte, so she made her distance away from her partner to join the group that wasn't preoccupied with babies to attend the strategy meeting. Which just seemed to be herself, Shade, Mocha, and Akemi at the moment.
"An Ultimate-level captain, and nothing but Champion crew... I'd rather not get directly involved in a fight against them..." Cream admitted. "And with the Orcamon, they'd easily chase us down if we used a slow-moving vessel. A smaller, fast ship would be best."
"But if we use a small ship, then we'd just get weighed down by all of Haru's villagers when we tried to escape!" Mocha replied. "And even if we destroy their ship and make off with their slaves, I don't think they're gonna let us go that easily! Which is why I'm saying we get a bigger boat and blow it up when they board us! They'll be taken by surprise, and if we're lucky their guys will be too busy trying to save their own crew to chase us!"
"No one's going to lend us a ship that we're just going to blow up, Mocha."
"We're obviously not going to tell them that part!" Mocha replied, looking to Cream and Akemi. "All we have to do is lie and tell the owner that we got attacked by pirates, or just tell the truth and say that it was either their stupid boat or a rescuing a group of slaves. Anyone who would still be mad at us after that deserves to have their ship blown up!"
Mocha seemed unusually passionate about this circumstance that didn't involve her. Was she just excited about blowing a ship up, or was there another reason? For the first time in her life, Cream wasn't really able to get a read on her sister - a prospect the Terriermon found incredibly unsettling given the Lopmon's unpredictable nature.
Cream turned to Akemi and nodded. "I'd rather not blow any ships up, but having another ship to distract them would be best. I don't like the idea of taking on an entire pirate crew of Champions and above, but if Nanami, Mocha, and I can get to port-side then we can drill our way through into where the villagers are located. I think that's the only thing we can do, really. We're not strong enough to take on that pirate crew, and we're frankly more of a burden in an aquatic environment..."
"But whatever we do to get the slaves out, we're definitely sinking their ship once we're through!" Mocha insisted. "For one, I'd rather not get chased down by a pirate crew once they realized we made off with their slaves, and secondly, they all deserve a slow death by drowning for all I care!"

Shade’s ears flicked towards magnus as he seemed to have something to take care of the fact that Nanami had motion sickness but their response to that was giving out the reasons that she couldn’t take more pills. It was an interesting concoction of reasons to the Wraithgururumon but his attention was ultimately drawn to the egg that was in his lap.
The choromon that stared at him was met with a soft smile and he’d gingerly pick up the child digimon. Pressing his forehead against theirs in an effort to make them understand he meant them no harm. Ultimately he’d set them back down in his lap and he wouldn’t move if they didn’t. His hands idly comforting the child while his attention was brought to the notepad.
”Captainhookmon. Blackgalgomons. Revolvmons and orcamons. Tch. It’s a very solid looking group of mons that Shade doesn’t know if we’re prepared for.”
Shade frowned a bit and looked them over; captainhookmon was an ultimate. Given the fact right now that alone would mean that one fighter would be met out if he was the only ultimate. He didn’t know what the others were capable of and now they had children in their grasp.
”Normally yes; but that’s why we would be transparent about what we want.”
He’d quietly smile at the numemon-x; her concerns were valid and her idea of renting and using a small boat along a big one made sense. He’d consider it for a few moments. Weighing the options and opportunities.
”The job of the small ship would be to board and combat what’s there. Rescue would be for the bigger ship. If their crew is nothing but Ultimate and champions it doesn’t matter where we fight them; so we should be prepared to fight them wherever we have the advantage.”
Shade’s eyes looked to mocha as she had another plan; this one involving blowing up the ship. He didn’t like that; it had too many holes in it. He’d grit his teeth and after a little bit he’d shake his head.
”It’s a sticky situation yes…”
The wolfen digimon would stand slowly and if the baby digimon was still with him he’d switch to holding it with either hand.
”But we’re forgetting that these people do not deserve the life they have been forced into and that makes every other concern irrelevant. Every plan is an option and everything we’ve talked about more so just makes shade want to get started. If renting a boat is a problem then Shade will just buy two and forget about the nuances of that later. Magnus said he can drive a big boat so he will drive the big boat. The small boat doesn’t matter if it gets wrecked as it’s entire purpose is to get us from A to B. If it does it’s job then it does it’s job.”
Shade would look to haru and after a moment of consideration he’d nod his head, leaning down to give them one final if not rather supportive headpat. His sharp blue eyes looked to mocha and he’d get a somewhat devilish grin.
”And they can’t chase us down well if we destroy their engines now can they?”
