✗ manipulation: A strong one with him. Kaoru is great at acting and performance, as a result he is an excellent liar and manipulator. It is very difficult to tell if he's lying or not, and able to twist his way around someone in order to get what he wants out of them.

Digivice: Kaoru's digivice is simple. A white-based d-arc with purple accents and a purple clip that he is capable of hanging off of his belt.
Personality: Deceptive to a fault, Kaoru's entire persona within the public eye is a big lie. He likes to come across as peppy, optimistic and innocent, very much the act of an average good-natured child. However, this is mostly for the sake of preventing questions being thrown in his direction. Kaoru is an actor, after all, and this is all just a game- everyone else is just playing parts in a large game of chess.
Kaoru is a very intelligent individual, to the point of prodigy levels. It's not difficult for him to turn something on its head in order for it to go in his favour, or to manipulate someone. He has a habit, a very bad habit, of lying on almost a compulsive level and is good at it too, to the point where his own faked persona annoys himself. He is not reckless by any stretch and will go through every inch and detail of plans to make sure they don't fall through. Kaoru, after all, has more brains than brawns and utilizes that to the utmost extent.
While he doesn't completely lack emotion, the way he behaves outside his mask could make others believe otherwise. He's very quiet, reserved and reclusive- not liking contact with other people and not wanting to speak unless spoken to. He hates questions and often surrounds himself in objects and animals rather than people. When it comes to language, Kaoru is always formal unless acting. Such as using longer words and addressing others by their last name rather than their first name upon meeting, including Mister or Misses beforehand.
Kaoru's confidence is outstanding, almost to the point of arrogance- sometimes exaggerating his own capabilities and ideals far more grandiose than what may actually be possible. He's also rather competitive, usually not saying no to a challenge, unless there's a very specific and important reason why he's declining.
While he reacts negatively to being touched on initial contact, long periods of time will lead him to start to wind down. This and in dark places are the only times he shows anxiety, reacting far more in fear rather than any logical sense. He gets very attached to people when they move past the "tools" into an actual person department and has a special thing for people with intelligence. Despite normally not liking being touched, he will accept and enjoys piggy-back rides. Gifts are surprisingly never thrown out, and usually kept with meaning.
Appearance: Kaoru is a proud ankle-biter, standing at an amazing height of 5'4" he is incredibly small for a male. However, Kaoru was assigned female a birth. Being trans, he often does his best to present himself as male due to his inability to go through hormone therapy yet. He wears a binder more than he probably should, with his clothes more baggy than necessary to hide anything that might stick out, or not stick out.
He is thin, however, after years has finally got back to being at least on the lower end of his BMI scaling. As a result, Kaoru is frail, and a punch to his gut might land him to the hospital. He is not much of a fighter, fully aware of his shortcomings of physical weakness. His security blanket is his goggles and his hood, pulling his hood up over his head should he get distressed at any point in time or... just trying to look intimidating.
Most of his clothes are vibrant and bright, with a weird sense of fashion. His hair is naturally blonde due to albinism, and hating the colour decided to dye it red and green. He is very picky about how it looks, because of this fact, and will complain if something messes with his hair dye. Due to albinism, Kaoru's eyes are a deep red colour with his skin incredibly pale to boot. Despite it, he doesn't have any real blemishes to his body aside from a few hidden silvery scars that are a constant reminder of past abuse. Something he often covers up with makeup anyways.
Personal History: Kaoru's mother had conceived a child in order to trap her boyfriend into a future marriage. Something which did not go as planned, as having a child was far too much and they quickly broke up leaving the child with the mother.
Kaoru was the name of the child. A child that the mother quickly grew resentful of, as to her, he was now a burden and a constant reminder of her failure. Putting all the blame on him, she steadily became abusive both mentally and physically of Kaoru and reaming him for little things such as attempting to get food. Doing so resulted in a drastic change from Kaoru, as he developed from practically being an angel to a devil in disguise of one. After all, his lying started when he believed that if anyone found out about his treatment his mother would surely make his suffering worse.
Eventually, she was caught, however, by concerned neighbours calling the police after one too many incidences of crying from the house, along with banging and shouting. Discovering the situation, his mother would be taken away with Kaoru brought to an orphanage. After all, he was only fourteen.
A few years passed and he had found his own place, making himself out to be a junior model and an idol. Still, it was obvious how his upbringing affected him, as therapy workers struggle with getting him to be honest rather than trying to wrap them around his finger.
