You Never Know Who's in Your Way [ Aki ]

I'm walkin' here. It wasn't exactly an every day thing for Tetsujin to take the Shinkansen all the way to Shibuya, but it was starting to become one. At this point, the young man had been bored with school and his normal locales. Sure, he could go to school, beat up whatever punk looked at him wrong, and leave with the worst consequence being civic duties. Somehow, it's less boring to come all the way to Shibuya and do the exact same thing. The biggest difference was whether or not he'd managed to get caught by the law. That was really it, the entire reason he sat for about two and a half hours on that train. It was enough when you were spending your life without ambition, generally going nowhere. Sometimes, something interesting would come from it, but it usually ended up with him just terrorizing citizens. Not every time, but it was common enough and with some pretty stunning variety. He honestly found it pretty intriguing that salarymen would actually look at him when it was less common in his own neighborhood. However, today would be fairly dull, as he explored through a quieter part of the city. Not like he was moving fast either, taking his time for a leisurely stroll. Even with his walking pace being slow, there was a certain rigidity in the way that Tetsujin held himself. His posture lead itself to having his t-shirt cling to his back when it got too humid. That's exactly the kind of afternoon it was becoming in this time of the year. The sun wasn't exactly beating down, but the heat in the area was palpable. Most people would be inside with their air conditioners, but that wasn't a luxury available to the teenager with the chestnut hair. Beads of sweat were dripping from his messy hair, running down his chin as he clenched his teeth. It was just the normal way he held his mouth, which did lend itself to his appearance. Almost like a scowl, but not tensing up nearly enough facial muscles. As he continued down the road, lined by an assortment of private homes and building complexes, his thoughts weren't anything special. All he knew is that he was getting bored. Again. Even though he'd heard the stories that Shibuya is the hip and happening place right now. Heard the rumors of all those cute girls. He'd seen none of that. It seemed like it'd just be another day where he took matters into his own hands to entertain himself.

Aki had long gotten past the need for a chaperone to walk him home from the train station after school. His brother used to do it, but he had clubs most days of the week, so Aki had had to adapt to getting home on his own. He didn't really mind, though, since it gave him an opportunity to go on "adventures", like the one in the forest that led him to meeting Ryuga only a few short days ago. His digimon partner had come to school with him at first, but quickly got tired of hiding in his backpack and instead decided to just stay at the house during the day, while no one was home. While his absence was felt, Aki hadn't made any complaints.
Still, such an absentminded kid walking home alone was a bit of a recipe for disaster. While he was sensible enough to not get distracted while in the station or on the train, once he was close to home he started to let his guard down, doing silly things like doodling in his sketchbook while walking home, like he was right now. While he did take a moment or two to wave to neighbors as he passed them, mostly he was fixated on the sketchbook, wearing down one of his well-used colored pencils.
At the moment, he was finishing up a drawing of Ryuga, one of many he had done since they met. His take on Koromon was far from realistic, with a cartoonish style. However, for a child's drawing it was really rather good, as was the Betamon he had done on the other page. He'd have to give that to David then next time he saw the other Tamer, he'd probably like it. What had surprised him, however, was how much Ryuga enjoyed the drawings, both looking at them and being a model for them. Maybe he wasn't as much of a sourpuss as Aki had first thought?
He was pulled from his thoughts when he suddenly collided with a much taller figure, falling down and dropping his sketchbook. "Oh, I'm sorry mister." He said up at the teenager, getting up and grabbing his pencil from the ground, before reaching for his sketchbook. He had managed to get all the way to right in front of his family's house with no incident, and then this happened.

You know, it's funny, actually. . . Tetsujin did notice the kid walking his way, fiddling with his sketchbook. So cheerful and carefree, not to mention foolishly keeping his eyes distracted. Part of him knew what was going to happen, but he wanted to see if this child could manage to have a form of regard for his own life. Something that was proven wrong the second he knocked into the brick wall of Takejime's body. The young man quite literally felt nothing when the smaller, lithe boy crashed right into him.
Even though he was unhurt, that didn't mean this was going to be let go. The apologies hadn't made up for the lack of discipline this child had gone on to display. Another interesting tidbit he'd heard back when he was hanging with the boys in Osaka was that this was the norm. A lack of discipline meant a weak mentality. . . which lined up perfectly with this little boy. Probably has no clue of where he's going, so he doesn't even bother looking around.
Sounds like quite a problem for a child this age. A problem Tetsujin might be able to fix within the very near future. Even after Akihiko apologized, the older, more "mature" male remained silent. Without saying a word, he reached down for the sketchbook as well, probably getting his hand on it the same moment. This is when they finally locked eyes, followed by the teenager yanking the pad right out of that kids hands.
Didn't take long before he flipped it open with the hand that grabbed it, looking through the personal drawings that were contained on it's pages. They sure were nice and all, very pretty and well made. Better than he, himself, could do. It didn't take a smart man to then realize that something like this is most likely important to the boy. Which is perfect, time to make good use of it and find himself that entertainment he was thinking of earlier. It took a fair bit of seconds before Tetsujin looked back down at Akihiko, noticeably casting a shadow over most of his body.
It wouldn't take much to intimidate him, at least the young man had thought that way. Undisciplined city kids were probably easier to scare than some of the runts he'd seen running around Shinsekai. "Tell me. . . This more important?" Tetsujin inquired with a slow, low pitch voice. The question itself was in a vague manner, having only given about half the context. There was an option available, but what would it be more important than? Maybe he's a smart kid and can figure this out on his own. nette of gs

Akihiko didn't have much time to respond before his sketchbook was yanked away from him, frowning and putting his pencils back in their case before standing up. "Mister, can I please have that back?" He said, though he was starting to get a sinking suspicion it wouldn't be that easy. Still, he at least had to ask. Notably, Aki didn't show any real fear towards the older boy, even as his shadow was cast over the much smaller child. He looked nervous about his sketchbook, sure, but not afraid of Tetsujin. Aki didn't scare very easily, which was both a good thing and a bad thing depending on the day.
Meanwhile, in the house, a certain pink blob had hopped his way up to a window to try and see if Akihiko would be returning home soon. He didn't know what was worse, being cooped up here or being cooped up in the boy's backpack at school. However, Ryuga's thoughts were quickly replaced with concern when he saw his partner being stared down by a much larger figure outside. He wasn't a human expert but he knew a bad feeling when he got one, and this was definitely giving him on. "You idiot, why are you just standing there!" He groaned, exasperated, and hopped over to the door, trying to open it with his mouth so he could go and help his tamer.
Meanwhile, Aki considered Testujin's question, confused at first, then he realized what he meant. "Oh! No, it isn't more important than watching where I'm going." He said, assuming that was what he meant, "My big brother always got annoyed when he saw me doing that, but since he's not walking me home anymore I guess I just started doing it again. I'll be more careful next time. So... can I please have my book back, mister?" He asked again, holding out a hand for it. It wasn't that he was unaware of the danger he was in, he was just choosing not to allow it to worry him. Besides that, he could see the doorknob on his house starting to move, and had a feeling that if he needed it, a certain someone would be out here shortly to help him. However, he really wanted to try and avoid his partner revealing himself in front of a stranger.
