Most other digimon would have left this battle as it was at this point. It was clear that the longer this went on, the stronger the Polarmon became, and would leave the immobilized beast digimon as they were. However, Paledramon's motivations were different now. He had long sought a good fight against a human-partnered digimon, and now it seemed he had got one. And he intended to go through with what he said. He had offered mercy, it was refused, so now he had no choice in his mind but to follow through with the attack. "Crystal Eruption!" he snarled, and would once again make an array of razor sharp ice crystals burst from the ground around Shiro, hoping to impale the immobilized Polarmon. He hoped to soon make the decisive blow in this battle. Yet there was something that confused him. Normally "tamed" digimon tended to act more like humans than normal, but somehow, the Polarmon seemed to be even wilder than normal digimon. Why was that? Paledramon hoped to solve that question soon. Crystal Eruption: Focuses energy around the opponent and causes sharp crystals of ice to erupt from the ground around them, with a radius of 50 feet. These crystals remain for 1 turn before they shatter. [Cooldown: 2 turns]

It hurt, and with Shiro stuck in place like he was, it hurt a lot. An easy target, the crystalline spikes skewered the bear in many different spots. But if Paledramon was hoping for a decisive victory based on this, he was out of luck. Some icy spikes broke against his armored paws and shoulders, and a couple more inflicted only shallow wounds, being stopped before they could stab too deep. Still quite fresh from his earlier catnap, the bear still had gas in the tank, showing no signs of breaking his stubborn streak.
As for the spikes that did stick in deep, well, this savage creature seemed to completely ignore the pain he surely felt as he used his immense strength alone to snap them, in some cases without removing them. This didn't exactly help his condition, but it did let him move freely again. And now he's got a height boost, Chester couldn't help noticing.
How long can this go on? Just how much are digimon capable of? For all he knew, these titans could continue clashing for hours to come!
Shiro had a chance to show off a bear's hidden talent here: an often surprising sense of balance and coordination that let a real life bear scale a tall tree quick as a squirrel. These spikes were just as easy to grab and hold with his claws, and from the top of them he sprang at Paledramon yet again. This time there was no pesky ice to hold him down to earth. The trouble was that with Paledramon's aerial advatage, it was still so hard to grab him; the predator could only spring so far, and he knew it.
So he expected to miss. He meant to even. From the air Shiro fell as gracefully as a tank like him could, and on his way down his front paws began to shimmer again. "Whoa!" Even from a safe distance, Chester felt a tremor under his feet as that mass met the earth. That wasn't all because of Shiro's weight, either; it was also because the groundwater had been disturbed again and began to churn. Chester wasn't shocked that the ice geyser he'd seen before shot at Paledramon again.
What had his mouth agape in shock was the apparent sophistication of that move compared to the intelligence level he'd grown to expect. "Was that... a feint?" Maybe there was more going on in that thick skull of Shiro's than Chester had previously perceived. Even more clever (or was it just lucky? It was hard for Chester to tell), the geyser this time had opened up under some of the spikes. That meant Paledramon had more to deal with than just a stream of cold water; some of the ice spikes shot upward as well! Those previously planted spikes could become buckshot.
Both sides needed this to close soon, though. Paledramon was obviously worn out, but while Shiro was less so Chester remembered what could come next after Crystal Eruption. At least this time the human had the good sense to keep himself far away, but Shiro's landing point was still in the danger zone.
Shiro is hit by Crystal Eruption. -Receiving damage added a stack of Feral Rage. -Feral Rage (passive): Each time Polarmon is struck by an opponent's damaging ability, his speed is boosted by 10%. This can stack up to five times. Every stack is removed if Polarmon is not damaged for three consecutive posts. -Damage was reduced by Unbreakable. -Unbreakable (passive): Polarmon is toughly armored, sturdily built and made to withstand harsh cold but not for the heat. All damage taken is reduced by 33% except from fire and heat-based attacks, which deal 50% more damage. Shiro attacked Paledramon with Ice Geyser. -This attack may launch some of Crystal Eruption upwards. -Ice Geyser: Polarmon's paws glow with white mist, at which point he rears up nd slams both paws on the ground. A rush of pale blue energy heads toward the opponent, and when it's directly under them the ground erupts with freezing water that quickly solidifies into ice and deals damage. On hit, a target moves 50% slower for one post. Cooldown: 1 post.
Feral Rage has four stacks.

Paledramon watched Shiro's moves carefully. He knew by now that this was the strongest opponent he had ever faced, and he would not underestimate him, yet he could not hinder his battle instincts either in calculating what he would do. Of course, Shiro survived the onslaught of ice crystals, he had done so before and had rested off the damage. His move was to leap up at him, Paledramon responded by swooping forward, gliding out of the way, which he knew Shiro would not be able to adjust once the brutish beast was himself airborne. As he evaded the Polarmon's attack, he looked to see what he would do next, and his eyes widened as he realized he was going to repeat his Ice Geyser attack. "...bastard!" he seethed, knowing just how hard it was to evade that. The sharpened crystals launched upwards in the attack were not enough to do much, but the high pressure freezing water did the same it had done before, chilled Paledramon to the bone, and now with his battle fatigue, was starting to do a serious number on him. But he was not prepared to give in yet. As Shiro landed, Paledramon's wings glowed once more, and with a snarl of "Prism Burst!" repeated his light attack, aiming for the most concentrated blossom of ice crystals to once again set the ground alight with refracting beams of heat and light. While Chester was safely out of range, Paledramon didn't care, his primary target was Shiro, and the crystals protruding from his body would make his attack sting even more. Paledramon evades Chester's lunge but is struck by Ice Geyser. Damage is reduced from Cryo Armor.
Combat Passive: Cryo Armor - In combat, Paledramon is covered in a suit of icy armor that reduces all damage by 30%.
Paledramon's speed is reduced by 50%.
Paledramon attacks Shiro with Prism Burst, which is boosted by Crystal Eruption.
Prism Burst: Paledramon fires beams of light from their wings, which ravage the target with heat and light. If Crystal Eruption has been used the previous turn, the beams refract through the ice crystal shards again and again so that the area is covered with energy. [Cooldown: 2 turns]

Frustrated by these ice crystals sticking him, Shiro grumbled in frustration. He used his teeth to grasp and rip out some of the bigger ones out of his foreleg, which didn't really ease his pain but did make the limb a little bit easier to move. As Paledramon's wings lit up, the bear remembered that what would come next was unpleasant. He had to dive for it. The large creature was driven by survival instinct as he lowered his head and charged his way straight through this ice field. Every step hurt, but at least the path was clear... sort of. The bear was lowering his head so that if he ran into an icicle at this speed, his mass backed by that hard helmet would shatter the obstacle and keep him moving.
"Move it, Shiro! You can make it!" It was looking good, real good. Chester circled around the crystal field to meet the bear where he was going. "Right to me!" Shiro was doing it, using the sound of Chester's voice to guide him to the nearest edge. One or two more steps, and Shiro was going to clear it completely! The bear dove. The light descended. Shiro's nose crossed the border. The attack illuminated the rest of his body. Shiro was fast at this stage of the fight, but he wasn't faster than light. "Shir- oof," was the sound of the Tamer's wind getting knocked out by the still-moving but limp body of a Polarmon.
If there was any doubt about whether this collapse was the real deal, the position Shiro had splayed himself in was clearly uncomfortable and not very restful. If that still wasn't trustworthy enough, Paledramon was free to watch Shiro for as long as he pleased, for after no length of time did the brawler rise to challenge him again. This was what Chester was banking on, that Shiro was just using that rest ability again before coming back fresh. But it was just taking too long, too long for something like that.
Chester lowered his mask to pant from anxiety, but he instantly regretted that when a strong wind with a heavy chill blew straight at him, making it raise it again. His distraught state was only plainly visible for a moment then.
From here Chester could only see one means of escape: the digi-port. He activated it and spun it up. The problem? There were still a few minutes between that and a hole in spacetime large enough for him to... well, then again, what was he gonna do? Shiro weighed so much more than himself that Chester could never pull-
-That problem solved itself when Chester's partner dedigivolved to the rookie state. His body is in some emergency energy-conservation mode, Chester remembered, Which means he'll probably be fine... eventually. As good news as this seemed, looking up and making eye contact with Paledramon reminded him that he was defenseless. Chester tensed. Five minutes to open a portal sounds like nothing usually. But now... Just now, five minutes sounded like a very long time. What was Paledramon going to do with those five minutes?
Shiro was hit by Prism Burst.Shiro has been incapacitated.

Paledramon watched as the effect of his attack proceeded. He thought he would finally get his triumph over his foe, but he survived yet again. While initially he wanted to simply attack again and seal his victory, there was something about the way these two cared for each other that made him pause. Yes, the Polarmon was wild and might not even be sentient, it was clear that the human cared for him. And Paledramon respected that.
Even though Paledramon was convinced that humans were a threat to his world, he couldn't deny the care and kindness being displayed in front of him. And thus he watched as the human used one of the last means of escape available, a "portal", whatever that meant. Yes, it took some time to charge, and Paledramon could destroy them both before it could activate, but in the end, he simply didn't want to.
What Paledramon wanted to do, was to leave a parting message. He let his words linger as he flew away.
"You two fought well, I must admit. I think it would be dishonourable for this battle to be continued. If you truly meant no harm to the digital world, I apologize for my hostilities. Yet, you have gained my respect as warriors. I will not harm humans like you so long as you don't harm my world. Farewell."
Once Paledramon was sure that there were no more sneak attacks sailing up behind him, he would leave this place, and take his lessons to heart. He would let them escape back to their own world.
This For Glory has ended in a draw. While Shiro was drawn to the brink, he had inflicted too much damage on Paledramon to let him deal a finishing blow. Thus the end result of the thread is that both parties will be allowed to leave with no further damage.
As a drawn For Glory:
Chester gets 1000 bits. Lise gets 1000 bits.
