"He gives off that creepy aura, doesn't he?" Rebecca asked Honoka after Hachi had left, still keeping to her cleaning. "He's not actually that creepy... I don't think. He was a good friend to me for a while. Then life stuff got in the way and we just don't see each other as often. So, what was it that he was showing you?"
Alright, so Rebecca was comfortable enough with Honoka that she wasn't stuttering after almost every few words now. And she was trying to continue conversation. That was a good start. The twins from inside the V-Pet were definitely proud of her for doing so as well.
"Alright, this place is looking almost done, just a few spots left," Rebecca pointed out. Despite being really messy, it was surprisingly easy to clean up. Not much elbow grease was needed. As she cleaned, Honoka mentioned that this mess may have been caused by monsters after all for some reason. Now Rebecca 100% did not see the Digivice that Honoka pulled out, so that just made her think it was an odd thing to say. "I, um... wasn't being serious about the monsters, Nijimura. Why change your mind all of a sudden?"
How odd... why would she bring up monsters like that? Then it started to come to her... what DID Hachi show Honoka? Was Hachi hiding some secret of his own? Was it... actually related to Digimon? She wasn't entirely sure about what Honoka was trying to get at here, so that may be the case.

"He's someone who does creepy things while coming up with an excuse to not be a creep," Honoka simply stated, still clearly uncomfortable with his penchant for ignoring people's privacy. Rebecca asked her what Hachi had showed her, and she shrugged. "Just some footage from yesterday. A bunch of people moving through the hallways."
And Rebecca didn't seem to pick up on any of Honoka's hints, which meant that either she was continuing to play dumb, or Hachi had tricked Honoka into revealing herself to a random person. As far as she knew, it might have been some kind of elaborate prank set up by the boy. Was he watching them right now in that creepy invisible worm form of his?
"Must have been nothing, senpai," Honoka stated instead, shaking her head and moving to finish up her task. They were almost done, after all. She was embarrassed that she outed herself so quickly at Hachi's info, and a little more than annoyed, as she aggressively scrubbed a still-unclean section.
You... you shouldn't be so angry... W-would you like me to sing you a song to calm you down?
Honoka let out a short yelp and jumped in response to the sudden voice in her head. This was... She didn't recognize this voice. Was it the last of the sister spirits to awaken? She looked over to Rebecca and nervously chuckled. "S-sorry, I thought I saw a... spider over here, so I got a little scared..." She lied to cover herself. Then she turned her back towards her senpai and whispered softly, "Don't speak up so suddenly! You scared me!"
I'm really sorry... I've been awake for a while now, but everytime I wanted to introduce myself someone else came along, so... so...
"Anyways, this isn't a good time to talk..." Honoka whispered back. She hated the fact that her spirits couldn't hear her unless she actually spoke aloud. They could speak to her within her head, but shared the girl's senses, so they couldn't hear Honoka's response unless she spoke aloud. "I'm Honoka. We can talk later, okay?"
O-okay! I'm Lala, by the way! I'll tell Lili and Lulu that we met! Honoka heard a giddy chuckle from the spirit before going quiet. So... they could converse inside her brain or something? Honoka was starting to get a little more concerned by the day that her brain was getting permanently altered by her new cranial roommates.

"...okay yeah he can be creepy at times," Rebecca fully admitted. "But I can't dislike him. He's helpful when he has to be, and his father did a lot for us. I'd... probably go as far as to say that I trust him with my life." Rebecca's eyes widened when Honoka said that Hachi was showing her a video from yesterday. "He recorded the Digimon attack?!"
Rebecca went completely white when she realized what just slipped out of her mouth. Of course she didn't know that Honoka knew about Digimon, but still... she should've just kept her mouth shut. She could just sense that Agumon and Gabumon were face palming inside of the V-Pet right now. Could she say anything to recover from this?
"W-What? I didn't say Digimon, I said uh... um..." Rebecca was visually sweating right now; guess she couldn't think of something to say to recover after all.
Then something unexpected happened. Honoka suddenly screamed at something, causing Rebecca to yelp herself just from the suddenness of it. She claimed it was because of a spider, but then she turned around and... started talking to herself? "Himura... who are you talking to?"

"He's not a bad guy," Honoka agreed, sighing in admittance as Rebecca still didn't go into details. But it was Rebecca's business, so Honoka stayed out of it. Though she said something that Honoka didn't quite catch at first. A second later she did a double take just realized what her senpai said.
Rebecca began to act flustered as she tried to cover for her mistake. The tension finally broke Honoka as she heartily burst out laughing until her stomach ached. "I think you meant to say, 'vandals'," She helped with a smile. "It's more fair to the Digimon who don't go around causing messes at school!"
Are we laughing now? Does that mean we're happy and not screaming anymore? Because I like it better when everyone's laughing... She heard Lala explain in her head. Welp, at least Honoka could clear things up a little now that she knew Rebecca knew about Digimon.
Honoka held her Digivice up to Rebecca as she explained. "Sorry. One of my Spirits just woke up and took me by surprise. Her name is Lala. And she says hello, senpai!"
Eh? I do!? I mean... of course I do! HELLO SENPAI! IT IS REALLY NICE TO MEET YOU!!! Despite Lala's loud voice being almost painful for Honoka, Lala's scream didn't extend out beyond the spirit-user's head. Which meant she either wasn't fully aware of her situation as a spirit yet, or she simply forgot.
"She's... pretty enthusiastic about it!" Honoka added, rubbing her newly-aching temples. She began to wonder if having so many spirits living in her head had altered her brain chemistry at all.

Rebecca was bright red when she realized that she had made an oopsie doop by mentioning Digimon to a non Digimon involved person... or so she originally thought wasn't Digimon involved. Honoka started laughing and saying that Rebecca meant to use the word "vandals" to separate them from the good Digimon. It took Rebecca a second to get it.
"Wait... you know about them?" Rebecca asked in a whispering voice, just in case someone else happened to be walking by. "You know about Digimon?" She should've figured by this point, she knew at least two or three other students so far that had Digimon of their own, but it was still surprising to Rebecca.
Honoka pulled out her D-Tector, a sign that she was a Spirit User, and confirmed that by stating that one of her spirits had just woken up. "Um... what do you mean, 'one of your spirits'? I admittedly don't know much about Spirit Users, other than that my boyfriend works with a couple of them." Honoka then seemingly had a very painful reaction, almost as if she heard something super loud. "Oh my gosh, was I too loud? I'm so sorry!"
Then something popped into Rebecca's mind... if Honoka was involved with Digimon, surely she'd want to meet Rebecca's partners, right? Reaching into her school bag that was sitting relatively close by (in a clean area, of course) Rebecca pulled out her yellow D-3. "My Digimon are in here... we have time, would you like to meet them?"

Honoka paused as Rebecca asked about her spirits. Almost everyone she met knew more about having a Digivice than her, so she was taken by surprise when Rebecca didn't seem too sure about it. "Oh, well, a spirit user doesn't have a partner Digimon, but instead we turn into a Digimon with the powers of a Digimon... well... spirit," She tried to explain. Someone should really make a study guide for Digivice-wielders to hand out to one another. Maybe that could be something she could look into later... But for now, she'd just have to try her best! "Spirits differ from person to person, but mine all kind of reside in my head, though their consciousnesses fade in and out at times." She wasn't sure what else to add, honestly.
"But I have multiple spirits, Lili, Lulu, and Lala. They knew each other back when they were still regular Digimon, so they all bonded with me at the same time..." Her head was still pounding a little, but she shook her head when Rebecca asked if it was her fault. "It's fine. I know it doesn't make me sound very sane, but I hear their voices in my head, so when they get a little too loud, it can be painful..."
I'm so sorry... I'll be really quiet from now on... okay? She heard Lala respond in a pleading tone. She felt a wave of guilt and shame coarse through her body, no doubt from her newly awakened ally. Honoka simply patted herself on the shoulder, as if to encourage her. She didn't say anything else, however. She didn't feel comfortable having a conversation with her spirits when there was someone in front of her, no matter how Digitally aware they were.
Rebecca pulled her own Digivice within her bag, holding it up and apparently claiming that her partners were inside of it. Now it was Honoka's turn to be surprised. She had met a scant few tamers, but none of them had the ability to put their Digimon inside of their Digivice. Being made of data aside, she wondered how cramped it could be in there. Still, she offered to show them to Honoka, and while the girl thought it was most likely a terrible idea, she couldn't see a reason her senpai couldn't just return them to their Digivice once someone came along. "That doesn't sound so bad... So long as they don't make a mess!" She stated with a playful tone. Though she was just a little serious.

As Honoka explained what a Spirit User is, Rebecca was reminded of one that she did a job for Rosewood with, a young adult by the name of Toki, if she remembered correctly. God, that was a LONG time ago, wasn't it? Truly made her think of all the experiences she's had with her own twin Digimon so far. How far she's come along as an idol in Japan, the progress she's made on getting over her social anxiety...
Even after all of that though, she hasn't fully grieved over the loss of her family and best friend yet.
There wasn't time to think about that, though. Rebecca listened as Honoka explained that her Spirits were all Digimon that knew each other at one point in their lives, so they all bonded with her at the same time. Apparently they communicate with her through some kinda telepathy, or a voice that only Honoka could hear in her head. "If my Digimon were spirits stuck in my head, I don't think I would've been able to keep my sanity. I'm... sure they're very nice Digimon, however."
Honoka agreed to meet Rebecca's Digimon partners, as long as they didn't make a mess. "That may be difficult for one of them..." Rebecca admitted. She didn't exactly reveal that she was a Twin Tamer yet, so when she released Agumon and Gabumon out of the digivice, there were of course TWO Digimon instead of one.
One was an orange T-Rex-like creature with green eyes. The other was a yellow lizard wearing a wolf pelt with red eyes. Based on just appearances, the T-Rex definitely looked more like the rambunctious one of the two, while the wolf-pelted one looked calmer and almost wiser. Both looked towards Honoka with a smile.
"Sup? Name's Agumon."
"And I am his brother Gabumon."
"Gotta say, didn't think Rebecca would be silly enough to just blurt out about Digimon to some random stranger!"
"Please don't bring that up..." Rebecca requested, her face darkening from shame.

"Sometimes it can be difficult to focus..." Honoka admitted. "One of them, Lili, can get bored pretty easily so focusing on class can get a little troublesome. But when they get too bored or fed up, they just sort of... fade out of consciousness... I honestly don't understand it very well myself... And it's not like there's anyone I can consult with this kind of thing, so I try not to worry about it too much..."
Don't worry, Honoka! She heard Lala assure her in her head. We're almost, definitely, probably not harmful to your head!
"Gee... How reassuring..." Honoka muttered under her breath. She let out a short sigh as Rebecca called forth her partners, an Agumon and Gabumon. Though Honoka had no idea what kind of Digimon they were until they introduced themselves. And they were the type of Digimon who used their species name, as well. She had met other Digimon that gave themselves a name, and there were others that simply went by their species. Honoka always thought it was a little strange. It would be like going to the Digital World and only addressing herself as "human".
Though, she admitted, most Digimon probably wouldn't have an issue with that. Heck, some Digimon would find it easier, probably. So she just chalked it up as a cultural issue she didn't fully understand just yet and moved on.
"It's nice to meet you, Agumon! Gabumon!" She greeted, leaning forward and holding out her hand to shake if they so wished. Agumon made a comment that embarrassed Rebecca, but she simply shook her head and smiled. "But if she hadn't, we wouldn't have gotten the chance to meet each other, right? So some mistakes turn out to be for the best!"

Rebecca listened to Honoka explain how difficult focusing in class could be with her spirits' attention spans. She mentioned that if they were too bored or fed up, they fade out of consciousness. "You mean they would just... disappear from your head?" Rebecca asked. The pink haired girl mentioned there wasn't anyone she could consult about her experiences with. "I'm sure there are more spirit users... my boyfriend works with a couple, after all. Maybe you should try to look for someone who might be able to help you?"
Agumon was the one to accept Honoka's handshake while Gabumon simply bowed towards her as his greeting. Agumon's claws were definitely warm to the touch, whereas if Gabumon were to shake his hands would be pretty darn cold. "It is nice to meet you as well, Honoka... we heard your conversation inside the V-Pet."
"You can think of us like we're fire and ice, if ya want!"
"Mostly because my powers are primarily ice based, and his with fire. And he can also be a hothead sometimes as well."
"Say what?!"
"You get used to their bickering, eventually..." Rebecca admitted. "...maybe."
"So you're a Spirit User, eh? We've seen those before, it's really weird how humans can just become Digimon like that! Can you show us now?!"
"Um... that might not be-"
"Show us! Show us!"
"Take a good look at your surroundings right now, Agumon."
"...oh right, we're at a school. Damn it."

"I think they just fade into my subconscious or something..." Honoka stated, though she couldn't be too sure. As bright a student as she was, neurology wasn't her forte. She nodded when Rebecca mentioned to look for more Spirit Users. "And I've met a few others before, but for the most part, every experience with a Spirit User has been a little different. I don't think they all work the same way, but I think I'm getting the hang of it! I think the important part is bonding with my Spirits, like how a tamer is supposed to bond with their partner! Or I guess, in your case, partners!"
Honoka noted how warm Agumon was to the touch, but she just supposed it was natural for a Digimon to have an unusual body temperature. Being beings of data meant they could pretty much abide by any physical form imaginable, after all! And she wasn't sure what a V-Pet was, but it was presumably what allowed the pair to hide inside Rebecca's Digivice.
"Fire and ice... I see..." That explained Agumon's warmth, and Gabumon's insistence on a bow, instead. She gave a short bow in response to the cold Digimon.
If one's a hothead... Honoka heard Lala begin. It seemed like she was trying to build up to something. Then I guess Gabumon's pretty... COOL! Don't you think? This was followed up by a fit of laughter that almost overwhelmed Honoka, but she managed to keep it in check. The joke was terrible, and though she wasn't entirely sure, she thought she could hear a groan from her other spirits deep within the recesses of her mind.
But her newly awakened Spirit apparently thought it was funny. Which only meant that she had that kind of sense of humor. If Lala was going to be active in her head, then Honoka would have to make it a habit to avoid all fathers, then.
Honoka tried to ignore Lala for the time being, focusing on Agumon's request, followed by Gabumon's counterpoint. She nodded her affirmation. "Well, I can't show you two right now, but if you ever want to meet up later in the Digital World, I'll be glad to show you! Maybe we can all do something together, like help out in Rosewood, or..."
Or maybe we can all sing together!
"Or maybe we can all sing together!" Honoka blurted out, covering her mouth as the words just came out. Well then. It seemed Lala was fairly strong-willed when it came to that aspect. "Ah, sorry, my Spirit just threw that out there... But I guess... karaoke? Do they even have that anywhere in the Digital World?"
Honestly speaking, Honoka hadn't used the Digital World much other than a little extra time to study, rest, and practice gymnastics, so she wasn't aware of the extend of recreational amenities the Digital World had to offer.

"It's different for each spirit user?" Rebecca asked as she rubbed her chin in thought. "For most of the Tamers I've met, despite differences in their meeting and relationship, each one functioned the same. Though I don't see how much different you can make a partnership between a human and a Digimon."
While Rebecca and the twins didn't know what was going on inside Honoka's mind, the way that the girl was struggling to keep her composure meant that something was going on up there. None of them really needed to ask to know, really.
Honoka stated the obvious by saying that she really couldn't spirit evolve right at that moment. If she did, she probably would have caught the attention of MANY different students and it would all around just be a really dumb idea. She did say that maybe she could show them if they were in the Digital World though, and suggested helping out in Rosewood or all of them singing together.
...wait, what?
Rebecca and the twins had to double take slightly upon hearing that suggestion, even Honoka seemed surprised that those words just blurted out of her mouth like that. She sort of managed to save it by suggesting karaoke instead. All three would either look away at the suggestion, wave their hand/paw at the suggestion, or both.
"I have a crappy singing voice..." "I have terrible stage fright..." "Talking to others is a miracle, but singing...?"
Of course Rebecca's real reasoning was the fact that she was White Wolf, and didn't feel like sharing THAT tidbit about herself with Honoka at this moment. Heck, if they were to meet in the Digital World, Rebecca would have to buy a black wig since her hair changed to white while she was there.
"Ooh, ooh! I know! There's plenty of spots to spar against each other there, and I've never fought a human before! Er, a human Spirit User, I mean."
"You... have a point, Agumon. Humans would most likely use different battle strategies than pure Digimon. Perhaps we can schedule a spar sometime?"

Almost immediately Lala/Honoka's suggestion of going out for karaoke was shot down for various reasons. And Honoka felt a pit open up in her stomach as if she had just been rejected by a long-time crush. It seemed like Lala had taken the refusal rather badly.
Honoka... you should tell them that everything's all right! She insisted. Singing isn't about having a good voice! It's about baring your soul out for the world to hear! And no one worth respecting would ever laugh at someone trying to do that, no matter how unskilled you may be! It's not about hitting the right notes or even the performance! It's about finding the right song that resonates with you, and when singing together, it's about finding the right way to harmonize with them! So you should tell them all that... okay? Lala's voice started out as soft-spoken and demure, but as she went on, her voice emboldened to the point that she was practically shouting within Honoka's head by the end of it. If Lala actually spoke with a pair of lungs, she would no doubt be panting by now.
"Ah..." Honoka wasn't sure what to say to all that. She wasn't expecting such a passionate response from the Spirit. "So... basically Lala is saying that we should give singing a try anyway, but you guys are clearly uncomfortable with it, so it's not like we're forcing you, or anything..." Honoka gave her senpai and her partners a nervous laugh. It probably wasn't what Lala wanted to hear, but she would just have to apologize to her newly-awakened Spirit, later.
But Agumon recommended finding some place to spar. Which meant that it was Honoka's turn to feel a little more than uncomfortable. "That's a little..." She wasn't sure what to say to that. Fighting wasn't exactly something she liked to do, after all. But at the same time, if it wasn't for real, Honoka could use the practice. Maybe if she had just a little more combat experience, then what happened when she acquired her three fairy spirits could have been prevented. And she had a feeling that there were a great deal of other Digimon as cruel and as vicious as Fugamon out there.
Honoka went pale as though she was looking right at Agumon, it was clear that she wasn't focused on the Digimon in front of her. The memories of her humiliation and the feeling of helplessness overcame her as she began to shiver.
Hey... Are you okay? I can feel that something's wrong... Lala's voice managed to snap Honoka out of her daze. She looked back towards Agumon and Gabumon with a serious expression. She began to wonder what the hell she was even doing in the first place, offering to go singing or do random odd-jobs with friends like it was actually going to matter when her life was on the line.
What mattered was getting stronger, no matter the cost. And even though the thought of fighting for fun sickened Honoka, she nodded towards Rebecca's partners. She forced a smile and all the positivity she could muster, and said, "I've never actually... done stuff like spar before, but I think I'd be happy to!"

The reasons for Rebecca to decline going to karaoke were much more complicated than Honoka or her spirits could potentially even realize. Of course unbeknownst to most people, Rebecca Story was secretly the famous idol White Wolf, so if Honoka heard her sing she'd put two and two together almost immediately...
Wait, my hair turns white while in the Digital World, she'd figure out my secret almost instantly! Maybe... maybe if I got a black wig to go with my white one...? Ugh, I didn't think any of this through at all! This is why I hate talking to people as myself!
"Can you tell your spirit that Rebecca has her own reasons for declining and would not like to be pushed into something she does not want to do?" Gabumon said in defense for his partner.
"I-It's okay, Gabumon, I swear... I may not like singing in public, b-but I do love music. I haven't gotten the chance to listen to a Digimon sing before, however... unless you count this Etemon we ran into once."
"That was singing? I thought he was just yelling."
Agumon and the others were confused by Honoka's reaction to the yellow dinosaur's offer to spar with her Digimon form. She was looking right at Agumon, visibly growing pale and shivering. She almost behaved like Rebecca in a way... "What? Did I say something wrong?" Honoka eventually snapped out of it, looking at both Agumon and Gabumon and saying that she would indeed like to try and spar with them. "Heck yeah! We need the practice too, especially with some of our higher forms!"
"There's a spot called the Spartan Training Grounds... we could go there sometime after school, if you want?"

"No, it's okay, we've got everything sorted out now!" Honoka insisted when Gabumon explained. "And she can hear you fine, so you can talk directly to Lala if you want to! I know it's pretty awkward, but you'll get used to it!"
And it's such a shame, too... I can tell by her voice and the way that she's breathing that she's really good at singing, too... Honoka blinked a couple of times. Seriously!? She can tell how well someone can sing just by that!? How much of a singing-freak was she?
"Well... Lala really likes to sing, so maybe sometime you could stop by and just watch her sing...?" Wait... wouldn't that mean that they would have to hear Honoka sing as well!? Never mind, scratch that! Honoka didn't have a problem singing on the internet because she was just performing in front of a camera, but singing in front of real people? No way!
That... sounds like a wonderful idea! I'm not really good a lot of stuff, but I've got a really, really good voice! I'd be happy to sing for anyone, so just say the word and I'll...
But by the time Lala could finish Honoka had gone into her trance. Lala and Agumon managed to snap her out of it and then they started making plans to go spar at a place called the Spartan Training Grounds. "Oh, today's kind of sudden..." She admitted, trying to make a note of her mental calendar. She had to work at the Rainbow after school today, so it was no good. And tomorrow the gym was open for gymnastics, so it had been a while since she seriously practiced. She had to work at the Rainbow again the next day, and the day after that she needed to take the time to study. "Umm... maybe I could get your contact info? I keep myself pretty busy, so it's probably best if I contact you..."

"Your spirits can hear us directly, hm?" Gabumon asked as he rubbed his chin. He still wasn't too sure about how Spirit Users or Digimon spirits worked himself, and he wasn't any more knowledgeable on the subject than either Rebecca or Agumon. They didn't know other Spirit Users all too well, and the ones they had run into didn't explain how their abilities worked. Tamers and Digimon were more their style.
Honoka mentioned that Lala liked to sing and offered Rebecca and her twins to stop by and watch her sing. That got Agumon's brain gears spinning, as something didn't add up with him. "Wouldn't that just be you singing? Don't ya just kinda take your spirit's form, or is it like DNA Digivolving like what Gabu and I do? My head hurts..."
Alas, it was soon time for classes of the day to start for the girls. Honoka asked for Rebecca's contact info, since she would be busy for today it seemed. Rebecca tensed up; she didn't have many people who had her phone number or Snaptalk name, her boyfriend being one of the few. She didn't feel as if she was ready for something like that yet. "I-I'll think about it," Rebecca quietly responded as Agumon and Gabumon were sucked back into the V-Pet. With the area now being clean, cleanup duty was finally finished... and both Honoka and Rebecca made a new Digimon-related relationship as well!
What Honoka didn't see, however, is what happened when Rebecca left. Rebecca was walking down the hallway when she felt her phone vibrate in her bookbag. Of course she pulled it out to check the message, thinking it was a text from Tadayoshi or maybe her brother. But the number was unknown, and the message itself was equally as mysterious.
[Never expected you to be a Tamer yourself, White Wolf. Prepare yourself. -The Grandmaster]
Rebecca's eyes widened. Someone knows both her secrets... her Digimon secret and her idol persona... how could someone have possibly known her to be White Wolf?! But despite the sudden jolt of shock she experienced, there was still one question that remained to be answered:
Who the hell is The Grandmaster?
