It was extremely rare for this sort of thing to happen.
So much so that the current council didn’t know what to do immediately; they simply didn’t have the manpower or the required technicians to repair an island that was literally falling out of the sky as they spoke. So they had to be quick about acting; they had a few free options but some were off dealing with some issues. Some long term and some short term.
So they called who they could; got who they could. Posted a job for the mission guild and called in a few favors. That being said? Only a few people showed up; a motley crew of rookies ill equipped, some andromon that had a failing jetpack and… Well. Silence.
She was the one person out of the batch of individuals that showed up initially that they felt like they could work with. But they couldn’t just send her! So they really hoped that they’d get a few more people. It was a problem if it was just her, they needed a group of people they could trust to do recordings. Rookies were too young to understand the importance of things and while the andromon would have been helpful… the failing jetpack brought the idea of ‘what else of his could be failing?’. So they were turned away.
She’d be sitting there reading the dossier of the island as the mission junkies got their posting handled. They had only a few days before the island would crash into the ground and likely will destroy everything inside. She went over the part of her job; it was to recover any and all artifacts.
The people they had wanted to hire from the guild would be doing mostly recording and exploring. Mapping out the place and seeing if there were any other assets that they could save. Golems, rubbings and pictures of murals… anything and everything they could get their hands on.
”You have any questions?”
Silence’s icy eyes worked it’s way off of the information to see an angemon standing there, arms crossed. She’d give a shake of the head and set the folder down on the table in front of her. She was in one of those side offices that she would be meeting up with the rest of the group if they arrived. If they didn’t she’d likely just be going in there for artifact recovery.
”Just one. Why didn’t they catch this earlier?”
”Well… There was some kind of generator making it so the island wasn’t showing up on sensors. Some kind of advanced invisibility. It shorting out is why we know of this rather than knowing about it when it slams into the ground.”
The shutmon sighed a bit and tapped a claw against the table. So they had… maybe about twelve or so hours before it crashed. Which meant that the longer it took for their team to assemble the less time they had overall. She’d grit her teeth and fold the dossier up; there was another two on the table. Likely for whoever signed up.
”Any bites yet?”
”Two. Pair of humans. Spirit wielders I think. Didn’t say they had any partners”
The shutmon blinked and looked down at the dossier as it updated. She didn’t recognize their names even if one of them sent a tingle down her spine for some reason… Red fur? Just how rare was that in the human world? It was the first she ever saw and she’d quirk a brow.
”Well… Lets hope they’re ready for a rocky ride.”
”Well. It’s about noon now, so they should be here soonish. If we’re so lucky.”
Silence let out a sigh and placed her elbows on her legs, propping up her head as she stared at the dossier of the ‘mission’. It wasn’t a proper mission but… There was something to be said about helping out people when they needed it. Humans were always quick to jump on this kind of thing even if it was way outside their realm of expertise.
"I hate waiting."

Laying his eyes upon the professional looking building was the start to his amazement. Granted everything he laid eyes on in the Digital World always seemed to astound him considering he hadn't been a Spirit User for very long. Soon enough, after he was able to keep his focus on the task at hand, he found the door to an office that he was pretty certain was the correct door.
He wrapped his knuckles against it and held his backpack into his chest. He could feel the presence of powerful Digimon on the other side. He went ahead and walked in, a bit too anxious to wait for them to answer.
"U-um hello, I'm here about the mission? Junjo Natsuki at your service!" He used his free hand to salute the two mons inside while trying to keep his backpack from falling to the ground. He should've just worn it by the straps like a normal person.
"Asher is on his way, he just had an errand to run first."
He looked around the room and at the white Digimon, though he tried not to stare too much they looked totally awesome and powerful! He could hardly believe that he was face to face with them!

It seemed that the universe didn't want to call Junjo a liar. Only moments after he had announced that the seemingly final participant of the group was on the way, the door would open. Of course, with only one person being anticipated at this point, it was no surprise that the redhead strolled in. Placing his hands back into his pockets after the door closed behind him, the spirit user moved to stand alongside his teal-haired comrade.
"I'm not late, am I?" Asher questioned, tone half-joking. He hadn't actually thought that Junjo would beat him here, even with a quick trip to update Whiskers! "You haven't been here too long, right?"
While the initial focus has been on joining with the group, a nagging feeling pulled at the oblivious teen. How long did it take for him to notice the white Digimon in the room. Was she uncomfortable with all eyes on her?
Admittedly, Asher's gaze didn't match the awe-struck one of his company. Yellow eyes widened, only to narrow. Lips parted, just to close again. K? That.
That was almost definitely her.
The fur, the cloak, the form.
K had died.
Was this a bad joke? A trap, or a prank? The young man could even feel his spirits grow restless from the whirl of emotions. But, they would surely settle. After all, Digimon had a tendency to come back to life. She'd done it before, hadn't she? There was no reason to be surprised that they'd cross paths again! But, something seemed different this time.
Adjusting his glasses, Asher cleared his throat, then a smile convincingly created itself upon face, same as always. The Shutmon's level clearly wasn't as interesting to him. Granted, other things were, but they couldn't be that obvious upon a glance, right? Testing the waters with the white-furred digimon, he offered a friendly inquiry, "are you here for the posting, too?"

The first human to arrive made the shutmon pause; she had never seen one with teal colored fur before and this warranted a dubious blinking look for all of a moment before a friendly smile worked onto her face. She’d return the salute with a lazy one of her own before the angemon bade the individual to sit down.
”A pleasure to meet you Junjo. My name is silence. This is angemon. Or at least one of the angemons. You’d think they’d give you guys numbers or letters to work with given how many of you there are.”
”It’s not like we have a problem telling people apart…”
”You know what? That’s fair.”
Silence let out a small chuckle and shifted in her seat, one leg crossing over the other. A wide smile worked it’s way onto her lips and not too much longer would they end up meeting the second human! It must have been a minute or two at the very most.
But that’s when things got a little strange for silence; one human staring at her wasn’t too odd. Given that her fur was a different color and she was sporting a large cloak. Hell maybe he caught eye of one of her symbols glowing through her bindings. But the second one was definitely staring at her; so intensely that the shutmon shifted a little in worry.
”Late? No. Considering the job the both of you are fairly early; if not right on time.”
Silence turned her head to glance at the angemon who probably didn’t notice what was going on but that didn’t much matter to him anyways. She’d blink as she heard the new human, presumably Asher ask her a question. She’d chuckle a bit and rub at the back of her head.
”Yeah I’m here for the posting; or rather they asked me to be here so not really much of a reason to say no…”
”Given you’re also contractually obligated.”
”Contract or not that shit is dangerous.”
The shutmon chuckled and leaned back in her seat; the smile was different. The way she held herself was different. She might have had the looks of K but she certainly wasn’t acting like her. She’d crack her knuckles against armor and then let out a sigh.
”How much of the posting did you read? I can tell you more about what you two will be doing while silence here will inform you of what she’ll be doing.”
Silence tilted her head to one side and gave a nod. She’d adjust her own little papers in front of her and eyeballed the bit that was for her. It was pretty clear cut and she’d go ahead and share the information…
”Basically I’m there on artifact recovery duty; given that we know so little about the place we’re pretty sure it’s gonna be chock full of the stuff.”
Silence paused after a moment and then rubbed at her chin with a pair of fingers; her eyes flicking between asher and junjo…
”I know this is gonna sound weird, but is that natural fur color or did you guys dye it? I’m used to seeing Brown, black or blond. Not… teal and Red.”
”...Are you really doing this right now?”
”Hey it’s gonna be bothering me all day if I don’t ask.”
The angemon sighed a bit and put a hand to his face, looking like he had just enough of the shutmon. Or maybe the angemon was just tired. Or both. Regardless of that the shutmon snorted and just gave a little wave to the angemon who decided to bugger off at the last minute.
”All right, you guys have cameras right? If not there’s some in the bin over there. They’ve got a lot of memory in them and should have more than enough space for all the pictures they’d want you to take. Some wizardmon said that he could do more with rubbings but that’d take so much longer than three days.”
The shutmon pointed to a bin across the room, that if the two went to look they’d find a bunch of cameras. Some big, some small and one very odd looking one that even cracked an eye open at the two… Wait no. That was just a calcumon. Who looked very bored and very tired.

Junjo nodded his head with a big smile at Shutmon as they exchanged some pleasantries. Asher waltzed in and then they seemed to get down to business.
He couldn't stop staring a both of these amazing digimon, his brain even picturing what a room full of Angemon would look like. Angemon was so beautiful to look at with its big wings and long hair. Junjo hoped he could have a Spirit form just as elegant someday, not without his spirits complaining they weren't good enough in Junjo's head.
He found himself a bit surprised however, and the question of their human fur colors. He waited until Shutmon was finished as to not interrupt and started by dismissing the idea of needing a new camera.
"I've got my phone! I don't get service here...which actually makes no sense considering I'm like... -IN- the internet..." He rubbed his chin as he sat with pensive energy, though before long he shook his head to bring himself back to attention.
"The point is it takes great pictures and I charged it before I came so I'm good!"
He ran some fingers through his hair. "As for my fur, we call it hair, and I dyed mine. I think Asher's is natural. It wouldn't surprise me, he's got the best of everything..."
He sighed, as if longing for something but then quickly snapped out of it and nervously laughed. "What about you Asher, need a camera?"

This definitely wasn't K. He'd known it before, and words only confirmed it now. Definitely not K. Awkward. Or, less awkward? Asher wasn't entirely sure. For now, he'd just try to remain as casual as possible. This Digimon even had a different name. Definitely not just one letter. There was plenty of differences!
There was a glance to the Angemon, while cracking a half-grin. Frankly? Asher had not read any of the posting. He really should have looked at it more before letting Junjo get tangled up in something like this! What if it was dangerous? "I mean, it wouldn't hurt for a rundown of what to expect." Subtle.
Especially when Junjo didn't even answer the question! They probably looked clueless.
Though, the fur comment might have struck some sort of nerve. The redhead looked down, a soft, tch, being the only piece of a snicker that had been audible. "Still not fur," he'd mumble, surely drowned out by Junjo's explanation to the Digimon. Catching the tail end of Junjo's ramble, the spirit user's head lifted, tilting curiously for a moment, while squinting. Rather than looking at Junjo, he opted to give Silence the strange expression, before running a hand through his hair. Was he supposed to hear what the teal-haired man had said?
"Red's a natural color," he commented, airily. And, rather vaguely. And definitely not obviously having been paying attention to Junjo's suggestion of Asher and his 'perfect'ness.
Hair dye would be far too much effort, anyway.
On the topic of cameras, though? "Oh, yeah," he hummed, walking to the box of cameras. "I don't want to lose my phone," or break it, "so I think I'll use one of these. Are you sure you don't want a camera, too?" Reaching into the box, the redhead paused at the Calcumon's blink. Quietly, he lifted a hand in a small wave, and flashed a smile, before pulling one of the camera's out, waiting to see if he should grab a second.
It wasn't like he had a use for the pictures to be on his phone, anyway!

”Should be enough… should also keep charged probably. Oh the reason for no service is cause well. While you’re in the ‘internet’ you’re not within service range. Kinda makes sense and doesn’t hah.”
Silence made a little motion before glancing to the red headed asher; raising a brow for a moment at hearing that it ‘still wasn’t fur’. Had he heard that before? Was that an issue for him? She’d rub her chin and just nod her head a few moments.
”I might want ot actually grab one come to think of it…”
Silence mulled this over before shrugging her shoulders. Hearing that the other human had dyed their hair well… She didn’t even really think about that! How long would it take for her to dye all of her fur? She’d hum a bit at hearing that asher would like to hear about what to expect.
”At most we’ll be seeing some defensive golems, maybe some security trip wires or laser grids. Crystalfication traps were common back in the old days so those might be more around… With the place on a tilt some of the traps won’t likely work in the same fashion hmm hmm…”
Silence seemed brooding for a moment before waving her hand dismissively at one thought.
”With it being so old and that it’s an extention rather than a central point there isn’t so much a command room as there are smaller security wings so to speak. If we find one of those it could tell us where to go and what to expect properly. We don’t have a lot of information on the place really..”
Silence sighed a bit and the ca;cumon just sort of settled back down to go back to sleep. Silence was sitting on the back of her couch before hopping off of it. Looking like she was ready and raring to go. Though she had to ask…
”Can you guys fly at all?”

Though Junjo was okay with the idea of keeping his phone on him and ready to be used, at Asher's questioning he decided suddenly that he wanted one.
"Oh, uh, yes! On second thought I'd like one as well."
Though his attention wanted to remain on Asher for the duration of this trip, his eyes shot over to Silence. "C-Crystalification!?" He didn't like the sound of that at all.
He briefly addressed the idea of being able to fly. "Kimorimon can-sort of-well he has HUGE wings and he can glide for a pretty long time on a strong current!"
He then shook his head to take his attention back to his main concern.
"Um e-excuse me, but what happens to a...well..a human, if that were to happen." Last time Junjo checked if he were to go splat in the Digital World he wouldn't be able to be re-born as an egg or rematerialize or whatever it was Digimon did these days.
