The two Digimon continued their walk through Rosewood City, chitchating as the walked. Suddenly, something caught Rockpaw's eyes.
"Look an arcade! Why not we play a few games?"

Alucard turned his blue eyes in the direction Rockpaw indicated. Since he began his training as a vampire slayer he hadn't done much playing in general since even as an in training he was very studious. He brought his paw to his chin and began scratching it as if considering Rockpaw's words before he said "I don't see the harm. Though I must admit I've never played these devices before. With my training and studying I have never thought of it before."
Alucard peeked inside. Despite his cold and aloof behavior one thing he still possessed was his sense of curiosity towards things he'd never experienced. Gazing at the various machines with many taller than him. He entered for a better look. There seemed to be stools for smaller costumers by many of the machines which were obviously so small digimon could even have access to the buttons. The noises were annoying to his sensitive ears but still manageable. At least his excellent hearing wasn't proving to be like a double edged sword this time.

Rockpaw was a little surprised that the white Lipmon had never been to an arcade, but he guessed it was because he was on his quest. Looking around he got excited. The arcade was modeled after one from the early 80s in an earth country called America according to a promotional sign. Rockpaw would have to take their word for it, as he had never been to America in the 1980s.
The two rookie Digimon went to the front desk where a BlackGatomon was. They exchanged money for some tokens, and headed toward the games while walking over some red carpet with a darker red pattern. "Look, Space Invaders! I've played it before." Said Rockpaw. He went over to the arcade machine and clambered up onto the stool. Looking back at Alucard, he saw him push another stool over and get up on it.

After getting tokens, Alucard looked at the machine Rockpaw indicated. Then he glanced at the machines and noticed they were labelled with various names which obviously were the names of the games. Then he hopped on one of the extra stools to see what the all the fuss was about the game Space Invaders. Watching the game he saw that the invaders were on the top of the screen and as the the hero shot at them they slowly got faster. 'A game that becomes more interesting as things go. Though I've never played these things I can see both the appeal as well as how more money can be made by that game alone.' Alucard though as his curiosity was drawn to yet a different nearby game.
Hopping off the stool, Alucard walked over to that game and hopped on the stool near the game. The machine indicated it was a game called Pac Man. Deciding there was no harm in giving it a try he placed a token in the game and began playing.

Video games where interesting to Rockpaw. A great way to relax, but also a great way to practice hand/eye coordination. Did humans invent video games for that reason? Rockpaw did not know, but he liked them none the less. He was playing Space Invaders, a video game from 1979. There were a bunch of aliens at the top in rows, and as they came down, you had to shoot them. Rockpaw was not the best at this game, but it was still fun.
Glanceing over,he saw the Alucard had moved his stool over to the classic arcade game Pac Man. Rockpaw smiled, and wondered if Alucard was having fun

Pac Man was an much different beast when it compared to Space Invaders. Though the concept of the game he was playing was simple enough in theory but not necessarily in practice. He was doing okay but he was definitely a better archer by comparison. Narrowing his eyes as he focused on the game he was finding it a worthy challenge but not as worthy as battle in his opinion.
His ears twitched occasionally as the sound effects were getting on his nerves. One of the downsides of sensitive ears was that certain pitches were more annoying. The white Lopmon hoped whatever he digivolved to didn't have such sensitive hearing. He doubted it though since many Lopmon digivolved to Wendigomon. Though why did he get the feeling that a holosuit that resembled a human version of Angemon would be ideal for him? He knew the subconcious could lead one to strange places but that was ridiculous. Then again, he armor digivolved to Pegasusmon so who knew?

The two Digimon played for a while, till Rockpaw asked "Hey, Alucard, want to try a two player game?" The other rookie nodded, and the two ended there games to look for a two player one. After about two minutes, they found one that looked fun, Mario Bros.
"Oh, I have heard of that game, but never played it! Let's give it a try." said Rockpaw.

After playing Pac Man for a while Alucard stopped since he had no more lives left. Then Rockpaw asked if he would like to try a two player game with him. The white Lopmon merely looked at Rockpaw only responding with an affirming nod as he hopped down from the stool he was standing on. Though these video games were not his thing, he had to admit to himself that this as the rare diversion wouldn't be that bad. Following Rockpaw, he waited until the Terriermon had found a game he wanted to try.
Walking over to one of the stools near the two player game Rockpaw mentioned, Alucard grabbed the stool with his long ears and used them to hoist himself onto the stool with practiced ease. He then waited for Rockpaw to join him as he said "I'm ready to try this game when you are."

Pushing another metal stool over with his ears, Rockpaw then jumped onto it. Turning to Alucard, he said "So, I heard this is a very famous game. Apparently you play as two Italian plumbers in a sewer getting rid of turtles." Rockpaw then put the correct amount of token in, and started the game. It took the two a bit to figure it out, but they soon found out the one had to jump up and knock a turtle from the bottom, then run into said turtle to know them off the screen. Rockpaw was soon having a blast, and he hopped Alucard was at least enjoying himself.

"A game about two plumbers dealing with turtles in a sewer? These games can sure be strange." Alucard said with a faint hint of amusement in his voice. "You sure these characters are plumbers and not pest control?" Despite the strange premise the game was easy enough to figure out when it came to dealing with the turtles. The tricky part would come as the game went on.
As the game went on the enemies were now tougher to avoid. The one thing that caught Alucard's attention was a block that had the letters POW on the bottom level in the middle. Curious of the block that had gone ignored until that point he moved the character under it and pressed the jump button. Upon hitting the block the enemies on screen flipped upside down. 'That block was handy. If only battling digimon was this simple.' he thought as he shook his head and went about having his character on screen begin bouncing on the flipped enemies.

The two rookie Digimon stayed to get good at Mario Bros. While the playef, the made a little idle chit chat. Rockpaw was having fun, glad he made a friend his first day in Rosewood. Looking over at Alucard, the white Lopmon seemed relaxed, and Rocpaw hopped he was having fun.
"We are doing pretty well!" Said Rockpaw

Alucard was starting to lose interest in the game as his stomach was starting to demand his attention with a loud growl. The growl sounded like it was coming from a large beast which made Alucard smirk. Considering he was a small digimon a growl like that would likely be a surprise to anyone nearby. 'Sounds like I'm hungry again. Not surprising since I haven't eaten much since coming here.' he thought as he hoped his appetite would calm as he digivolved.
After losing his last life he hopped off the stool before looking up at Rockpaw. Alucard's grumbling stomach was starting to draw attention from the other customers who glanced at him in shock as if trying to figure out how a small digimon could make such noises. "I seem to be hungry for something more substantial than a small snack. Perhaps we should get a meal, Rockpaw." he suggested.

"You are right, I am still hungry!" Rockpaw replied as they finished the arcade game. "Let's go find something" The two rookies hopped of their metal stools and headed out of the arcade. Once outside on the sidewalk, they turned to the left and head toward downtown.
"I'm really in the mood for gyozas. What do you think?"

It seemed Rockpaw agreed with Alucard's need to feed and hopped off the stool as well. The two of them exited the arcade heading out to the sidewalk. Looking up and down the street trying to find food he was asked by Rockpaw if he wanted gyozas. The term was unfamiliar to him and his confusion was written plainly on his face. "Gyozas? What are those?" Alucard asked. Being confused was starting to be a regular thing for the young Lopmon it seemed. If this was one of those fancy human foods it made sense for a wanderer like Alucard to be ignorant of such a thing since he was used to foraging whatever he could find. That and he rarely came into cities and towns making him at times have more in common with the feral digimon in that regard.
At least Alucard wasn't against trying new foods so that worked in his favor. So, if he liked it, he may try it again at some point in his travels.

"Gyozas are a human food from Japan. They are little dumpling like things that are fried in oil. Trust me, they are amazing!" exclaimed Rockpaw. The two Digimon continued down the street till Rockpaw saw a sign that said "Asahi:Real Japanese Food" It was in front of a building that also had a Japanese garden out front. "Let's go there!" said Rockpaw
The two rookies headed to the restaurant and walked inside the front door. The inside had a nice atmosphere and looked clean. An Impmon behind a desk asked "How many?"
"Two" said Rockpaw. The Impmon grabbed two menus and led them to a table
