Silence wasn’t really surprised at the fact that the house was pretty much dead silent; it had been a rough day for everyone here. Parents worrying over their children and the various things that had occurred… she’d be surprised if everyone was ready and raring to go on the following day. She’d smile sweetly at mikemon; glancing at syre… She really should have gotten something for both her and holly but she didn’t really feel like it was her place… or if it ever would be.
”Their prices were pretty fair so how could I not? Even asked if the baker could let me watch. Yeah… after all that well; I thought that they could use it. Wasn’t sure what else to get... ”
Silence sighed and shook her head, at the peck on her cheek she’d pick up the smaller cat into a big bear hug. It had been stressful for the both of them and she couldn’t even really put it into words at just how thankful she was that they were okay.
”I’m not even sure what that was all about; this is the first I’m really… hearing of this happening. Just in general. Kind of makes me wonder if the twins or holly have it somewhere in them. Well… holly already has that meiphemon but from what I can remember it wasn’t from you.”
Silence took a seat at the table, still holding mikemon close against her. She mulled this over for a moment and idly rubbed at the mikemon’s back.
”Might be worth checking to see if they do or not… and I think after all of this settles down we step up their training?”

It had definitely been a long, stressful day for the entire family. Plucked up into Silence's arms, Mikemon would nuzzle right into the front of Silence's neck, nestling into the Shutmon much like a feline would. There were probably a hundred questions in the air - what to do with Syre, what to do with the twins, what could they have done differently - but they could really only take things one at a time.
Feeling that hand run down his back, the feline mulled it over. "It wouldn't hurt to check the twins - Coal's more likely, considering she inherited one of my eyes. But it might also be the case that she's already using it effectively. For Syre, its worse for her because... well, she inherited most of her 'combat' data from 'mom'."
That said, Mikemon wasn't going to pretend to know how all of this worked yet. But for now, all they could do was throw around ideas. The next morning was something of an awkward one.
After coming home, Amber and Coal were, more or less, 'shuffled away into bed' after everything had been figured out. Yes, Amber had a cry against Silence, and Coal tried to stay up a bit longer, but the events of yesterday were still high on their heads. It was how Amber found herself in the living area, holding a pencil, tapping and looking down at a large, blank piece of paper.
"..."
Yeah - a lot was on her mind.

Silence just sort of hummed a bit and leaned back in her chair; unsure of what to really do or say for the moment. But she’d take the time to set a timer so that she’d know when the cake was ready. Be it on her own little device. She’d flick her ears forward and nod her head at what mikemon said.
”I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case, I’d also be up front about it with them why you’re doing it. But don’t worry them at the same time… and… does that mean that her mother might know what to do about all of this?”
If anyone would know what to do it’d be her right? The person that she never met and… well there was the ability to go and see her even though she wasn’t technically around. Silence leaned slightly and just cuddle mikemon to her.
”Either that or maybe have a chatter with some of your peers?”
Inevitably silence would drag mikemon to bed once the cake was in no danger of being problematic…
Coal was more like a lazy zombie than anything, she’d rise with a groan and shuffle around grasping for her goggles. Mumbling to herself before moving to get out of bed. Flopping onto the floor with a grunt before putting it on. She’d pull herself up and then slowly adjust her goggles. Mumbling some more before slouching against the wall…
Tch...
She’d rub at her face and then slowly push open the door; looking around and flicking her ears forward at seeing amber staring down at the drawing paper she was working on. She’d slowly move over and then flump down next to her. Leaning up against her sister and mumbling to her…
”M’ornin…”

Would K know?
At that question, Mikemon would give a soft smile - and shake his head shortly after. "K was a lot of things, but a data analyst she was not. I'm always the one who answered questions for it about her - both about being a former Demon Lord and about overall data structure. As for my peers... I guess there might be one or two I could poke around for..." That would have to wait.
As Coal woke up, and slipped next to Amber, the fox found herself giving a flick of an ear. She looked over to see the black Renamon - fully healed up, just like the yellow fox was with their parents' efforts. It took a moment, but Amber managed to give a smile - and wrapped her arms right around Coal, in a brief hug.
"Coal, I'm..." The fox shook her head. "I'm sorry. It was my idea to go out to spar without telling mom or dad where we were going. I thought it was just something we could 'sneak in'. And... you got hurt because of it." The fox sighed, and picked up her notepad - just starting to doodle something to get her head going.
"More than anything, though, I'm just... glad you're okay, sis."

Even if she didn’t it was something that she thought to bring up; hearing that she wouldn’t know made sense and silence gave a firm nod of the head. At the end of the day it would fall to him to make the steps and she was fine with that.
But now with the day being young and coal on the couch. Staring quietly at what her sister was drawing. She’d tiredly lean into that hug and manage to squeeze the other to give them some reassurance. Hearing the other apologize to her coal would just gently hug her sister the best she could, resting her head against their shoulder and staring down at the pad.
”We both got hurt, I should have said something about it. How we could have just waited and had ma oversee us. But I was excited too you know.”
She’d sigh softly and just ease up, letting the other get back to their doodle. She felt miserable; tired and just sore all over. There was one bit of pain she could feel and that was in her head; the migraine hadn’t gone away since the avalanche proper. She could just feel all that moving data and could see it when she closed her eyes.
”I’m glad you’re okay too... Just lets be more careful next time.”
Coal groaned a bit and stood up; cracking her back as she had slept like a log. The renamon-x moved to go to the kitchen. Figuring something to drink was in order. Stumbling around like a zombie as she started to fix herself something to drink…
”Mmm… chocolate mix… milk… bit of sugar…”

It wasn't a one-way street: Coal had her own hand in this, and really, she was only the 'younger sister' by a few minutes. But Amber couldn't help but feel responsible for what happened - and she was extraordinarily thankful that things didn't turn out even worse than they did.
"Of course... we'll be much more careful next time, sis."
Amber gave a smile, and returned to the drawing. As Coal moved onto the kitchen, well, she'd hear a voice from below: "Heh... not a morning person, are ya, sis?" Syre, who had stayed overnight, gave a chuckle as the Renamon stumbled her way through the kitchen. The BlackGatomon seemed much better than she did yesterday, and at the very least, her signal was no longer leaking right through Coal's lenses. She would step out of the way with her coffee, letting the taller sister work to mix her drink.
For now, Syre didn't want to 'pick at' the incident - and instead wanted to look forward with a smile. Heck, she wanted to forget that yesterday ever happened, especially from her own perspective. That said: "Practice is cancelled today. Between how I was yesterday and that, Iko's decided we all need a few days to cool off. So, dad's calling this a family day..."
... Which was why Syre wasn't already back in Terminus!

Coal just didn’t feel like all the blame lay with her sister; she didn’t feel like there was much more they could say about it other than the fact they wanted it not to happen again. She might have been the younger sister but it definitely had forced her to take something seriously; her locking up twice had nearly cost her sister everything.
It was infuriating and she could feel the anger and emotions bubbling under her skin. She remembered that bear, so strong and so swift. Shaking off her chains. It nearly made her lips curl in frustration. She had to be stronger; she needed to be stronger. She had to understand things more and more. She didn’t want to just sit around the house forever. Being lazy was nice… but what was the point if you couldn’t enjoy the time with your loved ones?
”Maybe if we ask ma she might know a good safe place for us to spar against one another too.”
There was a lot they could do, ultimately coal didn’t feel like their mother or father would let this go anytime soon. She’d rub at the bridge of her nose, exhaling slowly as though to ease out the stress. Mixing the milk together the renamon flicked her ears and managed a tired smile to her oldest sister. She didn’t know syre very well other than a few things. But to be fair she also had been out and about more than anyone else.
”I’m not much of a day person in general, I like sleeping a lot…”
The renamon chuckled lightly and adjusted her glasses, these were the ones that had survived the cold with her. Survived that mess; they didn’t look battered or bruised just a bit scuffed. But coaldidn’t seem to mind.
”Mm… good cause I need a little bit to think about how to talk to him. Have a few topics I want to broach on.”
Coal slowly sipped at her milk and let out a little sigh of relief. That hit the spot! She seemed to energize almost immediately but she’d lean against the counter.
”Well if that’s the case why isn’t your girlfriend and holly’s boyfriend here? Aren’t they part of the family? Or is that gonna wait when the both of you are married?”
An innocent question from someone who didn’t seem to understand how relationships of that level worked… Then again she already had someone she cared for; maybe not to that degree given they weren’t ‘dating’.

Truly, Syre didn't have the chance to be around the house much - even Holly didn't really get a chance to see her nowadays, so it wasn't surprising that Syre was somewhat of a stranger! The feline was still friendly enough, though.
"Mm, I've been trying to get a bit better at it. But being in the city, the night-life is really when it's active anyways." Taking another long sip of her coffee, she gave a small nod to her sister. "Iko's not too hard to talk to, so long as you get to the point. But really, I think he was just itching to go on patrol - hm?" Syre's ear flicked, and as a light blush went across her cheeks, well, the cat gave a small laugh!
"Well, call it a more 'direct' family meeting then. Otherwise you're gojng to end up dragging half the city in here if you get too much on those sorts of technicalities..." That, and she really wasn't sure how things were going with Agress. Syre hadn't even met Holly's 'other' at this point. "You seen Silence yet? Wonder if she's sleeping in after yesterday..."

Coal definitely was happy to see her older sister though; even if she didn’t know them too well. Even after seeing that strange aura yesterday that she had emitting from her core. She’d rub at her muzzle, taking a sip from her milk and as syre spoke her ears slowly rotated so that she could hear them a bit more clearly.
”The city? Like terminus right? Or do you mean around here?”
Coal certainly had a lot of questions; but hearing that he was really itching to go on patrols made the younger mon pause. Did he like fighting that much? Or traveling? She’d pause and consider what sort of life he must have had to induce this kind of want. She’d shift a bit taking a longer sip of her milk, nearly draining half of it.
”Patrols are those knight stuffs that you guys have to do right? Or do you do them just because it’s… well what you want?”
Coal wasn’t sure how to word that question but hearing that cion wasn’t going to come here as well as… Half the city? Was there that many friends or loved ones here? She leeaned forward and wasn’t entirely sure what to say to that bit so she’d just nod her head.
”I haven’t seen ma yet but let me see…”
Coal took her glasses off, turning to where her mother’s room would be. She could clearly see a reading of someone in bed, but there looked to be another that was doing some kind of stretching. Was it her mom? Her dad? She didn’t know. But it looked like they were there.
”Looks like the both of them are still in their room. I don’t see holly though? Is she not here yet?”
Coal turned her head to look towards syre; realizing she needed to put her glasses back on and did so rather quickly. Managing a faint smile; they weren’t bleeding that aura like yesterday so it wasn’t too upsetting seeing that core...
"Ma told me you like board games though... what ones?"

"Oh, definitely Terminus. Its far too cold for there to be a lot of night activity up here in the mountains."
Dangerously cold, actually. Syre was quick to move past that subject, moving to the sink to rinse out her mug. The black cat's ear twitched, and she gave a shrug at the question. "It's a job - which means its both. We don't like every patrol, but overall its for the 'good and balance of the Digital World'. That said, I wouldn't have gotten into it if I didn't like the job and the mission statement... hm?" Syre blinked, seeing her sister take off her glasses, and peer right through the walls. Towards dad's room, and towards Holly's room? In short order, Coal provided a full role call, and Syre just blinked in astonishment.
"Mm... Holly's in-and-out a lot with medical classes and refurbishing that place in Luminas, but I'm sure she'll come around. But, honestly, that's amazing, sis." The feline gave a smile! "Even dad's not that accurate with his own eyes... you know, if you get a handle on them, they could be good for investigative work. I mean, with all the questions you like to ask, it would be like solving puzzles for you."
Putting the glass away in the dishwasher, Syre gave a nod. "Sure - mostly Chess and Backgammon, but I like a lot of 'em. Did you want to play?"

”Yeah I suppose that makes sense...”
Coal rubbed at her chin; so just how lucky was amber and her younger sister? It wasn’t something she wanted to put too much thought into so she just simply moved on past it. She’d shift to the side and sip at her milk. The explanation of the knights patrols made the renamon-x tilt her head.
”Huh… mission statement? And that sounds.. Kinda nice to be honest. Lots of traveling and seeing the world even if you’re doing patrols.”
She gave out a small hum, followed immediately by a flush spreading across her face as the other seemed to praise her eye. She’d rub at her face with a hand and shake her head. It wasn’t so much accurate as it was the power behind the two parents. Maybe holly was weaker than her mother and father?
Hard to really tell and it wasn’t something that she wanted to really think about either…
”Well it’s less accurate I think and more that ma and da have really strong cores. I don’t know if I can do the same with you or holly. Or amber even.”
She’d furrow her brows a bit and blink slowly; investigative work? Like a detective? And then there was puzzles! She’d nervously fidget and shake her head. She wasn’t so sure about that!
”I mean… I never really thought about detective stuff, but that’s something I could consider… Heh. Knights, Detectives… the list keeps on growing on what I could do.”
The renamon snorted softly and rubbed at her arm; sipping at the milk again and flicking her ears. Chess and backgammon? She didn’t know how to play one and the other sounded somewhat interesting. She’d nod her head.
”I don’t know how to play Backgammon but I know how to play chess. Ma was a fan of teaching me at least the basics…”
She’d chuckle after a moment and finish out her milk, following suit of cleaning it up. If this was to be a family day maybe she could learn more about her bigger sister! She hoped that holly would show up sooner rather than later but at the same time… Sometimes the meiphemon could be a little energetic for her tastes…

Well, it was one more thing for Coal to think about - but speaking of using their heads, chess! Syre gave a grin, and she'd lead her sister back to the living room. It didn't take long for the two of them to have the simple, wooden chess set set up on the coffee table, and the two were soon at it.
That said?
Well, the difference in skill was quite apparent. The first game handily went in Syre's way, and the second only lasted four moves. Still, it was a nice, relaxing way to spend the morning - and Coal would see a different side of Syre playing this. The black cat's eyes were focused, eyes scanning the board, looking at and keeping every option in mind. The minutes passed by rather quickly, with Coal and Syre playing, with Amber watching, that Syre didn't even notice the doctor step into the room.
"Mm? Been a while since I've seen this!" Mikemon gave a tease, as Syre's tail flicked behind her, tapping a pawn into place.
"... Mate in 3. And really, dad?" The BlackGatomon rolled her eyes. "Coal's almost better than you at this, already."
"Heh..." Amber gave a chuckle, shaking her head. "Sorry if we were up a bit early. Going to sleep at like... 8? No way we could keep our heads down for that long..."

Honestly coal wasn’t expecting to really go all too far with her sister, she had heard from silence that her older sister was quite good at the game. She’d lean back in her seat, staring at the board; sure the skill was definitely very apparent but unlike some coal wasn’t dissuaded in the slightest upon losing. She took things in stride and even losing the second game in four moves put her onto some venue.
Syre might have been focused and was scanning over it; but coal was reading something else entirely. She saw what moves that her sister could do and hearing her sister announce a mate in three? It didn’t stop her, no it made her think of other venues she could apply. Shifting a few pieces around and even wasting a turn moving the king into a better position in her eyes.
”Syre’s really good; I can kind of see why she does what she does. Though it’s mate in 4 if you’re using that…”
Coal mumbled a bit and flicked her eyes from piece to piece; unless there was something else here that she wasn’t seeing. She’d glance at amber and chuckle softly.
”Well… I probably could go for some more sleep. At least… until I had some of that milk. Where’s ma?”
Silence on the other hand had snuck through already to get something to drink; stepping into the living room with a pair of coffee’s. One for her and one for mikemon. The shutmon plopped down in one of the chairs after a moment and took a sip…
”At this rate syre you’re going to have to play multiple people at once to get a challenge out of it. If you weren’t in the knights I’d say go to chess tourneys… actually why not do that anyways?”
Silence gave syre a small grin; managing to get some of that coffee on her upper lip fur. Prompting her to have to wipe her mouth with a napkin. She’d lean slightly to look at what amber had been drawing and hummed softly.
”I got you some more pencils amber and coal there’s a book in the office for you. I wasn’t sure if you wanted anything syre so I hope you don’t mind if I got you some candy?”

"Mate in four... oh, oh, I see what you're talking about. If I use the bishop as bait, right?" Syre gave a nod, honestly impressed that Coal even saw that! "But no, you're overthinking it just a bit. I just move this pawn up one," Syre tapped the piece in place, "And now your King's forced to backpedal until it corners itself. Then this one promotes, I grab a queen, checkmate."
Huh! Amber didn't know exactly what Syre was talking about, but it sounded impressive! She was still enamored by the game itself, and as 'ma' came into the room, the yellow fox gave a blink, ear flicking as Silence praised Syre.
"I dunno about that, but it might be worth a shot. Though, this is more of a 'human' sport than a Digital one - got something on your lip, there." Setting the pieces back into place, Syre's ear gave another flick. Candy? "Heh, you know you didn't have to get me anything, but I'm not gonna say no to it!"
"T-thanks ma." Amber gave a smile, and as Silence looked at the book? Well, she'd see a dragon - a sketch of a Dorumon. Something that Amber was drawing for Coal, maybe? "Mm, we really should play like this more often, Coal. Um, I have to go give Cion a call, let her know that I'm going to be 'out' for the day. I'll be back in a few?" She left the table set up, and stepped on out, leaving the room to just Amber, Coal, and Silence.
... And it suddenly felt a bit more tense.

”Yeah, though if you do that that could also leave you open here or… here?”
Coal leaned and motioned to the two spots and then frowned as she watched what syre did. Her king was forced to backpedal yes and she’d flick her ears a few times as she was indeed forced to do exactly that. And it was quickly led to her losing again; but with a small shrug she’d make a mental note of how that entire game went down…
”Mm… I think If I had been a little more aggressive earlier I could have taken more of your pieces…”
There wasn’t any real melancholy to her voice; just more facts. She’d shift in her seat and silence snorted as she was able to take care of the coffee on her fur. She’d give a small nod at syre.
”Didn’t have to, but hey if I’m getting something for two might as well get some stuff for four right?”
Silence let out a small chuckle and seeing the dorumon silence had to wonder where she may have seen it before? She couldn’t think of any up here… But giving her daughter a small rub on the top of her head she’d shoot syre small glance and nodded her head.
”All right.”
”Say hi for us!”
Then it was just the three of them. There was a moment where silence felt like… Well she shouldn’t but. She’d draw out four items, two small sleek looking remotes. Both of them would recognize the sleek portal device but the next thing? Infinity stores? They would have never seen. The small cubes were something you could just attach to whatever you felt like to give it the properties so…
”Well that makes it less… problemtic for me then. Tch. Wanted to save this for later but now’s a good as time as any. Books and pencils weren’t the only things I picked up. You guys recognize either of these?”
”That’s a portal device and that’s… I don’t know”
”Infini storage. Basically a good button to get back home if you need it… and the infini storage is for supplies or other small objects you don’t want damaged or like just having around. I keep water and food in mine. So I put some in these for the two of you.”
There was a small pause and she’d look between the two of them and then sigh.
”That being said. I am somewhat frustrated at the both of you, not because of you going off and sparring. Not because of what happened last night. But because you didn’t tell me or your father, or even your sisters that you were going off somewhere. That said...”
Silence huffed, coal was fidgeting and well… she wasn’t entirely sure if amber was too but either way? She’d give each of them a big hug all together and then just set them back down. Looking somewhat peeved at herself.
”Next time you want to go out somewhere, even if it’s for a little bit tell me, your father or sisters. And next time if you don’t I can tell you that you’ll be grounded and likely made to do some really boring chores. Are we understood?”
”G-grounded?”
”Yeah like no reading for you and no drawing for your sister. Timeframe would depend on the severity. I want you two to be safe and healthy and that was… well exactly opposite of that in the end even if you didn’t mean for it to happen.”
Silence sighed and gave coal a small rub on the top of her head, as she did the same with amber she'd consider something and then just give a shake of her own.
"And if you ever need anything from me, or need to go anywhere or see anyone just ask me? I'm not saying you can't travel, do anything or the like but... you're still kids and the world is still very very big. and very very dangerous. It's why the knights do what they do."
