Even though there were plenty of cool treats for everyone, Justice didn’t help himself to anything, instead, he just simply watched everyone as they finished up their food, the three Digimon in particular. It seems their mood shifted from dreadful to overall positive. Good. His little gamble worked. Well it’s as they say: the way to a Digimon’s heart is their stomach.
He then listened as the three Digimon told their story. They were heading from another town over when they were stopped by two Digimon at a place called the Golden Rocks. They went and harassed them, angrily asking if they were working for any humans and going on a rant on how humans were horrible. Justice couldn’t help but grimace in response, but his expression quickly lightened up and returned the smile back to Armadillomon. He was happy that he saw right through their blatant lies by using him as an example.
Then the whole mood quickly shifted, as Monodramon added that another pair of Digimon confronted them. He described them as monk-like, wearing robes. They used some kind of magic to mentally torture them, only stopping when they realized that they didn’t knew any humans.
Vee couldn’t help but clutch his fists in anger. “Unforgivable!” he growled. “All because they want you guys to share their distaste for humans. How can anyone take their hate out on others? It’s so stupid that thinking about it more makes me furious!”
Gummy still remained silent, furrowing his brow and only expressed surprise at Bezil slamming his tail to the ground. This was the first time he’d seen his boyfriend angry before, and for good reason. It too, outraged him deep down, but he did his best to remain stoic and collective. Though his tail on the other hand, ignited on fire, swishing left to right before the blue-violet flames dialed down.
Aramadillomon warned them of that ability, as well as warned Justice to be careful since they hated humans. In response, the young man sighed, patting the mammal Digimon’s shell. “Don’t worry. Ain’t the first time in my life I’ve dealt with bigotry and it’s certainly ain’t gonna be the last.” he reassured, confidently.
He stood up, dusting the sand off his pants. He grabbed his cooler and put it back in his Infini-Cube. “C’mon guys, let’s get a move-on. The more time we waste, the more time we give them harming other Digimon.”
It was the group at Trailmon Terminal all over again.

Bezil glanced at Justice when he mentioned that he had suffered bigotry before. It was a little difficult for the furred Gumdramon to comprehend. After all, to him, Justice looked like most other humans he had met, only his skin was a little darker.
But... as he thought about it more, perhaps that was the crux of it? Bezil mostly resembled most other ordinary Gumdramon after all (in his rookie form anyway), only he had fur, and that was a thing that most strangers seemed to focus on when they met him. Especially other dragon digimon, that often looked down at him as some hybrid dragon/beast. Perhaps this was a thing with humans too? While he wanted to dwell on it more, he focused on the task at hand, wanting to take down these bigoted bastards in the desert.
"Okay then. We'll sort them out." he said to Armadillomon. "Where are the Golden Rocks?"
"That way." Armadillomon said, pointing to the southwest. "If you can fly, you should be able to see them easily from above. And... good luck, please, don't let them get to you."
"We'll do our best." Bezil replied, but in truth, he was a little nervous. He had never encountered digimon that could attack through the mind as well as physically. But, he had his boyfriend Gummy, his new brother Justice, and his new friend Vee here, surely they could handle this.
"Okay, so, what do you think our strategy should be?" he asked them. "Strike immediately from above when we find them? Or land nearby and approach with stealth?"
Bezil was open to either option.

Now ready to head out, Bezil asked Armadillomon where Golden Rocks were, to which the mammal digimon responded by pointing to the southwest. Vee and Gummy once again digivolved to respective champion forms, now rejuvenated with energy from the tasty snacks they ate. They really hit the spot! Now they were ready to go, ready to bash some baddies. And their targets: a Kyubimon and a Youkomon.
Justice didn’t have any information about those two in his D-Watch or what they looked like, but from the sound “Kyuubi”, the former had to be a fox with nine tails in appearance. He remembered reading a bit about them back in high school. In Chinese folklore, they could be either a good or bad omen. Well in their case, they were dealing with a duo of bad omens, both with abilities to attack one's mind. Seeing as how it emotionally affected Armadillomon and the others, they have to be very careful.
Bezil asked what their strategy should be, either striking them from above the moment they spot them, or approach them by stealth.
He thought about the two choices for a moment. “I’d say we hammer them the moment we find them.” Justice said while nodding. “I’m all about stealth and the element of surprise, but I think it’ll be kind of hard to stay hidden where there’s nothing but sand everywhere. But, we’ll give ‘em the element of surprise, containing a can of whoop-ass, that is.”
Gummy couldn’t help but chuckle. “Heh, my plan exactly. And that's why we're partners.”
Vee also agreed. “Yeah, those bastards don’t deserve to be attacked from the shadows. I wanna meet them face-on and get some packback for Armadillomon and the others.”

As they approached the Golden Rocks, Bezil felt he agreed with that approach. "Alright, just hope we don't hurt anyone who's innocent there..." he replied, although it seemed it would be unlikely that they would. And if their opponents were indeed Kyubimon and Youkomon, they'd be completely vulnerable to an aerial attack, so it was in their best interest to attack their ground-based targets right away, and only stop once they had surrendered.
"Alrighty, I'm with ya's." Bezil replied, and joined them in a flying formation on their way to the southwest. The adult level Gumdramon could handle shorter flights like this by himself, and he was eager to land a blow of his own in their surprise bombardment.
After a while, he saw the sulfuric yellow rocks that made up the landmark known as the "Golden Rocks", noting their contrast from the rest of the red-brown landscape. And, after a few more minutes of scouting, he saw some shapes move around below. One yellow, and one lavender, the two of them prowling around their territory, clearly on the alert for those that might avenge Armadillomon, Muchomon and Monodramon.
"Just remember, keep an eye out for the "priest" digimon." Bezil reminded the others, remembering that it was them that hurt the others the most. However, for now, his target was confirmed. The Gumdramon fixed his wings into a dive, a sphere of light forming between his paws.
"This is for Armadillomon and friends you fox bastard!" Bezil snarled as he launched his Shining Bombardment directly down at the Youkomon. He was taken completely by surprise and snarled with pain and fright as he was struck by Bezil's surprise attack, his eyes dazzled by the light.
Hopefully Vee and Gummy were concurrently attacking Kyubimon, and more importantly, these were their correct targets. Bezil would have been horrified if these too were innocent digimon at the wrong place at the wrong time, but, given how they seemed to be patrolling, he doubted it.
Bezil uses Shining Bombardment on Youkomon.
Shining Bombardment - Bezil dives to the ground while shooting a ball of light that damages the enemy, blinding their vision momentarily should they not protect their eyes. 15m radius circular AoE, minor splash damage for extra 5 meters. [Cooldown: 3 turns].

Justice nodded. “Yeah, but if so, we’ll have to change our approach: wait for them to be clear of any one around them, then we make our move.” Since this entire region is a desert, the chances of them encountering any civilians would be extremely low. Thus when they find Kyubimon and Youkomon, they’ll be free to fight to their heart's content without the worry of innocent Digimon getting caught in the crossfire.
With no time to lose, Vee carried Justice on his shoulder, and they took off, traveling southwest. Justice took this moment to recap on what they’ve learned so far. Two Digimons, Kyubimon and Youkomon, attacked Armadillomon and his friends on the reason of thinking they were in good relations with humans, despite them never encountering one until he came along. Then they were joined by two more Digimon, priest-like in appearance, who then proceeded to use mind torture techniques on them before stopping, realizing they had never met humans before.
That alone infuriated the young man. What kind of individuals will go out of the way to harm others all because of a differing opinion? It made little sense to him; he couldn’t help but huffed in frustration. Vee took note of it, but didn’t say anything. He narrowed his eyes, focusing on getting to their destination.
Eventually, the group came up to some bright yellow rocks that contrast from the rest of the landscape. This must be the “Golden Rocks” area that Muchomon described. After a while of patrolling, a pair of figures appeared below them. Wondering if they were the Digimon they were looking for, Justice was about to take out his D-Watch to scan them to confirm it, but from Bezil’s glare as well as Gummy’s, it seems they were the ones they were looking for.
Bezil made his first move, shooting a ball of light at Youkomon, which seemed to work. Vee and Gummy got the memo, and using the element of surprise, began their assault, diving towards them while charging their respective attacks.
“EX-Laser!” Vee roared, firing an X-shaped beam from his chest directly down at Kyubimon. Gummy followed the beam from behind, prepared to launch a follow-up attack.
“Sorry to cut in, but fuck you!” Gummy yelled, attacking with his Spiral Shredder. He didn’t have any ranged attacks like Vee and Bezil, but he made up for that with his resourcefulness. Combat Log:
Vee attacks Kyubimon with EX-Laser.
Gummy follows up and attacks Kyubimon with Spiral Shredder.
Ex-Laser - Chagres an intense laser beam in the shape of an X from its X patterned-chest and fires it towards the enemy. Strong enough to destroy large boulders. [Cooldown: 2 turns]
Spiral Shredder - Spins rapidly to cut and knockback the opponent with its Tail Anchor. [Cooldown: 2 turns]

Their sudden aerial attacks took the Kyubimon and Youkomon by surprise. The two fox digimon had been prowling around the rocks, expecting ground targets, but the first signs they got of their impending strikes were shadows from above, followed by the flashes of attacks.
Youkomon was blasted off his feet by Bezil's Shining Bombardment, while Kyubimon had only a moment's warning to not suffer the same from Vee's Ex-Laser. However, the attack was so powerful that she too was knocked off her feet, and when she saw Gummy closing in to finish her off, it took considerable strain for her to dodge the strike, yelping in pain as she twisted her body to quickly take cover behind one of the rocks, being sprayed with yellow shards as Gummy sheared past.
Youkomon snarled the first challenge. "Who are you and why are you attacking us?!" he demanded. Bezil folded his arms as he landed a small distance away from them.
"We're friends of Armadillomon, Muchomon and Monodramon. You're familiar with them, right?" the Gumdramon responded. He saw their eyes widen, then their maws stretch into grins.
"So... those little runts went away crying for backup did they?" Kyubimon asked, licking her chops. "Good... we've been after more of a challenge than them..."
"And with a human in the mix too..." Youkomon added, looking at Justice with something of a hungry expression. "Gods, how I've wanted to see how they taste..."
This was too much for Bezil to stand. The Gumdramon's paws glowed with pearl light as he circled them methodically, gathering energy between them. "Taste this you twisted arsehole! Spiral Moon!" he launched a blast of energy at Youkomon, but now the element of surprise was gone, Youkomon leapt into the air out of its path as it exploded in a pillar of light against the ground.
"I don't think so, amateur!" Youkomon retorted, the tips of his nine tails igniting with fire, then with a snarl of "Blazing Spheres!" launched them at the furred Gumdramon. Bezil immediately knew he had messed up with this provocation, and could do little but cover his face with his fists as the fire blasted him. His natural defense against heat and flame reduced the damage, but it still smarted. Damn it... he needed to remember what he had learned in training, to keep his cool.
Kyubimon meanwhile set her eyes on Vee and Justice and lined up her attack. She leapt, began to spin around rapidly, her body glowing with blue fire, then with a cry of "Dragon Wheel!" launched a blazing dragon directly at them.
Bezil gasped with horror at the realization that she was aiming at Justice. There was little he could do to intervene.
Kyubimon takes the Ex-Laser attack, and uses all of her effort to dodge Spiral Shredder.
Bezil uses Spiral Moon on Youkomon, who dodges.

The group’s surprise attack paid off, as both Kyubimon and Youkomon were blasted off their feet by their respective attacks. Though the former was able to narrowly avoid Gummy’s tail anchor, much to his dismay. Even so, those attacks should be enough to get the two fox digimon’s attention.
Youkomon demanded to know why they attacked them. Justice, Vee, and Gummy glared at the duo as they landed near Bezil.
“You hurt them for no reason, and we’re here to get some payback on their behalf!, assholes” Vee added, huffing in anger.
Gummy clasps his fist together, cracking his knuckles at Kyubimon’s words. “Oh trust me...we’re just the challenge you’re looking for. What a shame those will be your last words!”
Justice eyes widened to Youkomon’s hungry expression, who happily expressed the interest in eating him. That threat alone was enough to send shivers down the young man’s spine, but nevertheless, he kept his composure, knowing that his Digimon wouldn’t let such a thing happen. “You sure about that, pooch, cause us humans are a bit on the raw side, probably not to your taste.” he said. “Though if you're looking to get fill up, I can shove my foot up your ass if you like."
With that, the group split off into their own separate fights: Bezil facing Youkomon while the trio faced Kyubimon. Bezil’s attack was met with retaliation as Youkomon launched an attack of his own, blasting the furred Gumdramon. Gummy’s eyes widened, immediately wanting to help his boyfriend, but couldn’t, seeing that their foe’s eyes were sight on Vee and Justice in particular.
Kyubimon jumped into the air, then launched a dragon-shaped blast of fire at Vee and Justice. With no time to lose, Vee quickly grabbed Justice from his shoulder and turned around, exposing his back to the searing attack. He grunted in pain, holding his tamer close to protect him.
“Vee! Are you good!? Is it bad?” Justice asked, his voice lit with concern. The XV-mon opened his eyes, giving a reassuring smirk.
“A little burnt, but nothing I can’t handle,” he said. He then lowered both his hands, allowing Justice to step off. “Now hurry up and get some distance between us; We can’t fight effectively if we’re too busy protecting you.”
Justice sighed and nodded in agreement. “You got it, blue dude.” He then sprinted off, going to a rock formation in the shape of an arch nearby. As much as he wanted to help out, he would only just get in the way. In a battle for attrition against digital monsters, he was merely an ant.
Now that Justice was in the clear, it was time to get serious. Without a moment’s pause the XV-Mon dashed towards Kyubimon, his fist igniting into hands of flame. “Searing Fists!” he bellowed, aiming to attack him with strong punches, each one threatening to explode on contact.
Gummy--who was hovering above--quickly followed suit, not wanting his brother to take all of the glory. His fists gave out a red aura, and when he got close, he added on to Vee’s combo. “Mach Flicker!” Meaning that Kyubimon would be taking two attacks consequently.
Justice glanced to where Bezil was at and gave a quick thumbs up, alleviating any worry he had for him.
Combat Log:
Vee takes damage from Dragon Wheel to protect Justice from it.
Vee attacks Kyubimon with Searing Fists.

"No reason?" Youkomon repeated, his maw stretching to a smile at Vee. "Heh, I believe there was some reason behind it, for a start it means we can put you smug "chosen" in your place."
Kyubimon chuckled at Gummy. "Oh, believe me, I'll have many more words for you before we're done here." she promised. She then chuckled at Justice's retort. "Ah, good. I've heard that human data is just that much more satisfying when they have some fight in them..."
Bezil didn't like this talk at all. Once the next exchanges of attacks were made, he turned to Justice, glad to see he was taking cover. With that done, he turned his amber gaze back to Youkomon, his mostly fireproof fur smoldering slightly, but not to the degree that it was a problem.
"So... fire attacks don't graze you that much, eh?" Youkomon asked, prowling side to side as he decided his next move. However, his continued hesitation told Bezil that perhaps he didn't have much in the way that could harm him. If all he had was fire, Bezil could take that and strike back harder.
At the same time, Kyubimon watched for what Vee and Gummy did next. Most unfortunately for her, with Justice out of range, she continued to hesitate on which one to aim for, until they both attacked her at once. She braced and gasped as she took Vee's Searing Fists and Gummy's Mach Flicker, but, determined, she would strike back.
"Fox Tail Inferno!" she snarled as she was pushed back, counter-attacking with nine blue wisps of flame, five of them homing in on Vee, four of them on Gummy. Kyubimon had waited for the most opportune time to launch her attack, but already smarting from Vee and Gummy's previous onslaught, she wasn't sure if she could last much longer.
As for Youkomon, it seemed he was about to launch a similar attack as Kyubimon's Dragon Wheel, but Bezil struck too quickly for him to build up the momentum. As the lavender furred fox attempted to spin in the air, he quickly found Bezil's frosted hammer tail strike him instead, and with a cry of "Frosty Lasher!" found himself snap into an immobilized state.
Humiliated and rendered immobile, Youkomon lashed out in any way he could, and the only attack he could currently use was Discordant Howl, which made Bezil cover his ears and shudder from its eerie effects. While not enough to hurt Bezil much, it was enough to tell him that these two were not out of the fight yet.
"Gah... I can't focus!" Bezil cried as his ears stung. "Guys, we need some strategy here!" he advised Vee and Gummy. He looked at Youkomon. "He's immobilized, let's strike him!" he advised, ready to back them up, meanwhile keeping an eye on whatever Kyubimon did next.
Kyubimon takes damage from Searing Fists and Mach Flicker.

Both Vee and Gummy’s attacks struck true as they landed a barrage of punches on Kyubimon. And from the look of her expression, it seems like she bit off more than she could chew. That’s how the twins fight; they attack in sync, forcing the opponent to decide which attack they should dodge and which one to take the hit by, but in this case it worked in their favor. However, now was not the time to get overconfident just because they landed a blow on their opponent—Vee knew that, but Gummy on the other hand, sneered arrogantly.
The yellow fox then retaliated with a ranged attack, sending five balls of flame in Vee’s direction, and four at Gummy’s. In response, the XV-mon ascended backwards into the air, dodging his share of the attack.
Gummy on the other hand chose to stand his ground. He covered his face with his fists as the balls of flames pelted his rubberized armor, smouldering soon after. Similar to Bezil, he has a natural defense to projectiles of all kinds, but that didn’t make him impervious. Even so, the determined look in his green eyes refused to die down as he looked at Kyubimon.
“C’mon, is that all ya got?” The Arresterdramon gloated, preparing to charge at her with a slash from his tail anchor. Before he could act, Bezil cried out to him and Vee, having difficulties with Youkomon. Gummy froze, wanting to help his boyfriend, but not wanting to leave his brother when they were just getting Kyubimon on the ropes.
Vee saw his little brother’s dilemma and motioned to get his attention. “Well, what are you waiting for? Go help him! I got things covered here!” The XV-mon reassured.
Gummy nodded, and without wasting time, he rushed to Bezil’s position, focusing his energy into his tail. His whole body emitted a ghostly, purple-ish shine before he dispersed into four spirit-like copies of himself.
“Sync with me, Bezil!” Him and his clones aimed to slash the immobilized Youkomon at rapid speeds, and if his words were true, Bezil would probably follow up with an attack of his own, not wanting to squander this chance as well.
Vee meanwhile landed on the ground, confident that Gummy can assist Bezil in any way he can. From the looks of it, it seems like Youkomon was the strongest of the two, like how he was with Gummy. Even so, that still doesn’t mean Kyubimon wasn’t a push-over. She was still tough, and that was enough to get his blood pumping.
“Now it’s just you and me,” he said, cracking his knuckles. He then flew up, flying around Kyubimon before flying low and charging at her. “Hearty Shatter!” Vee cried, aiming to strike her with a powerful lariat.
Combat Log:
Vee ascends to the air backwards, avoiding Kyubimon's Fox Tail Inferno.
Gummy takes reduced damage from Kyubimon's Fox Tail Inferno.
Combat Passive: Dragon's Armor - Gummy's rubberized battle armor is very durable, giving him a 30% defensive boost against projectiles attacks.

Kyubimon growled as her attack was dodged and tanked by Vee and Gummy. Furthermore, Youkomon was left prone and helpless to dodge Gummy's attack, he yelped in pain as he was struck by the Mach Flicker.
Then there was Bezil to follow that up, his tail hammer glowing with flame as the Gumdramon-Adult swung it directly at him. "Hellfire Hammer!" he snarled as he struck a blow against Youkomon's back, knocking him down and back several feet.
Kyubimon fared no better from Vee's onslaught. Both she and Youkomon were clearly in the disadvantage here. It was three against two, and their opponents had enough wile and experience to best them.
...At this level.
Neither of them would accept defeat yet. After all, they had so much more power left in store.
"...I suppose you think you have this in the bag, you wretched fools..." Kyubimon began, struggling back to her feet.
"...yes, I suppose you are formidable at the champion level..." Youkomon added, clearly in pain from the battle, but his eyes suddenly flashed. "...but how are you at Ultimate?"
Bezil gasped as the two fox digimon glowed with a blinding light. They were digivolving. Before he could act to stop them, they reared up on their hind legs, and transformed to their next forms. Both of them now resembled fox-like priests, one colored yellow, the other lavender.
"Kyubimon digivolve to... Taomon!" "Youkomon digivolve to... Daomon!"
Two ultimate digimon against three champions... Bezil's breath became short and frightened. These were not good odds. The newly evolved digimon loomed over them.
"Forgive us for our... primitive, barbaric words earlier. 'Tis a side effect of our lower, animalistic forms." Taomon spoke first.
"We assure you, we will kill you in a dignified manner, without such need of such notions of eating our prey." Daomon added. "Well then, care to test your abilities against us now?"
Bezil had no idea what to do here. His father Owen had always told him to retreat from battle with digimon at a higher level than him, but, with Vee and Gummy here, somehow, he thought he should at least show some fight against them. But still, they were goading them to strike first. And in his combat experience, that could lead to ruin if they attacked stronger enemies that were prepared for them.
At the very least, Daomon was still smarting from the burning hammer Bezil had just given him. It seemed he couldn't evolve himself out of that one.
"This is bad..." Bezil admitted to Gummy, Vee and Justice. "We shouldn't back down, but... we should be very careful here"
Bezil thought the best action here would be to launch some testing attacks against them, just to see how they'd react. However, it was a very dangerous thing to do against digimon of a higher level, and he wouldn't do so unless Vee and Gummy did so first.
Youkomon is struck by Mach Flicker and Hellfire Hammer.
Hellfire Hammer - Bezil's tail erupts with fire, then slams it into an opponent. If it strikes, they get afflicted with a nasty burn, receiving additional burn damage for 2 more turns. [Cooldown: 2 turns]
Kyubimon is struck by Hearty Shatter.
Youkomon digivolves to Daomon. Kyubimon digivolves to Taomon.

After Gummy’s ghostly clones struck Youkomon all at once, he watched as Bezil followed up with his Hellfire Hamer, knocking him away a couple feet. “Nice work, Bezil!” The Arresterdramon cheered. If he had a visible mouth, he would be smiling ear to ear. With Vee, his attack dealt a pretty good blow on Kyubimon as well. He landed on the rock terrain, assuming an offensive stance as his opponent struggled to get back on her feet. They were on the ropes, and it was clear that the three dragons outclassed them both. But as it turns out, things were only just getting started. “What…” Justice uttered, stepping out of his cover. An ominous feeling washed over him, and he knew that the twins had felt it too. Before he had a chance to question them, the two fox digimon were quickly engulfed in a glowing light, making him, Vee, and Gummy all shield their eyes from it. They dared not to approach. When the light died down, their opponents were now standing upright, eight feet tall each, wearing priest-like ropes with baggy pants. “Oh...no.” Vee said, openly concerned. He stepped back, switching back to a defensive guard, daring not to attack them for the moment. Even Gummy, who was always eager to face down an opponent couldn't help but take a step back too, putting a hand in front of Bezil to defend him. “Oh you’ve got to be shitting me, Digimon have higher levels?” Justice questioned. The holographic screen from his D-Watch exploded with information, his was directed at Daomon. All he saw was his name, the level, but none of his abilities. His digivice had never processed this kind of information before. Daemon dared them to make the first move. Bezil beckoned not to back down, but to proceed with caution. Justice had to think fast, otherwise, the two fox digimon would take their hesitation as a no and attack them head on. If they wanted to attack, they needed to formulate a plan, now that they’re opponents are giving them this opportunity. “I got an idea…” Justice said, reaching into his pocket. “And what’s that?” Gummy questioned. Justice took out a pack of cards, twelve in total, and showed it to the three dragon Digimon. “I had bought them sometime ago. Apparently, these cards will power you guys up when I swipe it across my D-Watch. I don’t think they’ll do much, but something’s better than nothing.” “Aw hell no!” Gummy shouted. “You want me to rely ‘cheat’ and use a power that’s not my own?! Screw that! I’ll show you how it’s really done!” “Gummy, hold up-!” Neither he or Vee could stop the Arresterdramon as he charged at Daomon, his tail anchor glowing purple as it increased in size in an attempt to get a clean hit on him. “Spin Caliber!” “Shit! Vee, back him up and make sure the other doesn’t interfere with him, but make sure you keep your distance. I’ll use one of these cards to back you up. Bezil, you follow his lead.” Justice told them. “Gotcha!” Vee replied. Shuffling the cards in his hand, Justice found a card that could boost the XV-mon’s strength. “Alright, Digi-Modify,” he said, sliding the card on his D-Watch. Immediately, Vee felt a surge of power coursing through him, his red eyes shimmering in response. “EX-Laser!” He fired the attack at Taomon. Already their course of action took a turn for the worse with Gummy impulsive charging in just to prove a point. But with the cards Justice presented, maybe they could catch them off-guard. Bezil really appreciated the gesture from Gummy, appreciating the fact that they were fighting together now, quite effectively it seemed, until the dramatic change in the power balance. Justice meanwhile didn't seem to know that digimon had higher levels. Bezil had to get him up to speed with that at once. "We do. We're Champion level now, but above that, there's Ultimate, Mega and Super Mega..." he tried not to show his inner panic as he looked at them. "They're now Ultimate levels."
But surely they could prevail if they fought carefully? They still numerically outnumbered them. And they had already dealt a number on them already, surely they hadn't healed after their initial onslaught? Bezil was heartened when he saw Justice reveal that he had cards. Yes! His father had told him about those, they could boost a digimon's power at a critical moment. In fact, Bezil had several of these cards himself. Taomon and Doumon watched them with sneering expressions, clearly enjoying watching them struggle over what to do now that they had evolved beyond their immediate capabilities. They didn't fade when Justice thought to bring out some cards. What possible use would they be in a digimon battle? They watched as the human fussed around with his flimsy pieces of cardboard, but Gummy closed in first on Doumon. Taomon acted first. "Talisman Shield!" she cried, raising her arms and conjured a sphere of golden light around Doumon, who sneered as Gummy closed in to attack. It was not strong enough to burst through the barrier, and the electrical energy it contained would give Gummy a nasty shock. Bezil gasped as he saw this, realizing that Doumon was shielded and thus he couldn't follow up on Gummy's strike. However, Taomon was wide open, and was vulnerable to Vee's attack. Bezil chose to double down on the open target, slowly rolling his arms methodically, gathering light energy, then with a cry of "Spiral Moon!" once again sent a blast of light at the target, following up on Vee's strike. The boosted EX-Laser struck Taomon the hardest, while the Spiral Moon only dealt additional chip damage. She flinched slightly, but looked up at them with a grin. "You truly don't realize just how different our powers are now, do you?" she asked. "Doumon, show them."Bezil watched in horror as Doumon deftly painted a symbol in front of him, before shouting "Rakurai!"Nothing happened for a split second, only Bezil felt some kind of static feeling between his ears. Then it seemed the sky crashed down on him. He screamed in agony as a thunderbolt struck him down, the Gumdramon collapsing at once from the direct Ultimate level attack. For a moment he thought that this was the end, but, he was still breathing as he lay there in the sand, yes his body was a total agony, but, he was not dead. However, he would not be able to take another attack like that. He tried to get back up, but, his limbs had no strength to them. All he could do was slowly squirm on the ground. For the moment, he was powerless. He hadn't felt this feeling since being attacked by Sagomon in the bayou, slowly foundering in the peat bog as his tail hammer weighed him down. While he wouldn't drown here, it was clear to him just how dangerous this situation was. And his father wasn't here this time. They had to do what they could to survive. At once, Bezil realized just how at risk they were. "Gummy... Vee... protect your partner!" Bezil cried out to them. "Don't worry about me... I can take this...!" it was imperative that Vee and Gummy acted to protect Justice here. Not him. Bezil was a digimon, Justice was a human, Justice wouldn't come back if they started aiming at him. Bezil uses Spiral Moon on Taomon.

Justice was left even shocked when Bezil informed him that Digimon can ascend to even higher levels, and that their opponents are currently at the Ultimate stage. A wave of panic contoured his face. “Mierda…” he muttered. “We’ve really ran into the lion’s den, now.”But even though they were at a disadvantage power-wise, they still outnumbered Taomon and Doumon three-to-two. And with the deck of cards he revealed to them, there’s a chance that they can close the power gap with well timed strategy and coordination, and wipe the smug smiles off their faces. Unfortunately, Gummy thought differently. Not wanting to rely on what he thought was crutch, he impulsively closed in on Doumon, aiming to slash at him with his tail anchor. Taomon responded by conjuring a spherical barrier around Doumon. Gummy struggled, trying his best to pierce through it but to no avail. Doumon’s smile caused Gummy’s frustration to swell up into visible anger. The barrier then sent out an electric surge, making Gummy reel and cry out in pain. He struggled to get up for a moment, still twitching from the electric shock. “Bastard..!” he venomously snarled. Vee, seeing this, fired his powered up EX-Laser at Taomon, with Bezil assisting with his Spiral Moon. Both of their attacks appeared to have an effect on the yellow fox priest, only for them to realize that it didn’t have an effect on her. “Even with the cards, it’s still not enough,” Vee said. As much as it pains him to admit it, Taomon was right: they were on a whole different level of power in comparison to them. And to showcase how vastly different a Ultimate was compared to a Champion, Doumon painted a symbol in front of him. For a second, nothing happened. Then, from out of nowhere, a lightning bolt struck Bezil, shocking Justice, Vee, and Gummy as the furred Gumdramon collapsed. “BEZIL!” Gummy screamed. He tried to rush to his aid, only to fall on one knee, still reeling from the effects of Taomon’s counterattack. It felt like his left leg was spazzing in and out. He glared at Doumon. “You’re dead! You hear me?! You’re dead!”Vee’s expression matched his brother’s, fierce and full of fury. Bezil then cried out to them, saying that their priority is to protect Justice and not to worry about him. No. Just from looking at him, Bezil was just as vulnerable as Justice. And he knew how much he meant to Gummy, so leaving this to himself was out of the option. One way or another, they were all gonna make it out of this in one piece. He went to his brother’s side, slapping him on the shoulder in an attempt to calm him down. “ Let’s hit ‘em with our strongest move, one last all-or-nothing gamble.” Vee directed. Gummy closed his eyes and took a deep breath, calming himself down as he slowly got up. “Alright, let’s do this.”The twins then stood side by side, with Vee gathering his energy to form a dense, spherical ball, and with Gummy conjuring blue flames in both hands and adding it into the sphere. The condense ball of energy then began to fluctuate wildly, becoming unstable, with several streams of blue flames and gold energy spiraling around the center. They charged at the two Ultimates, aiming to get payback for Bezil. “Firenado Spiral!” Justice meanwhile rushed to Bezil’s side. He gently picked him up and rushed back to safety as Taomon and Doumon were distracted. Once they were in the clear, he swiped the Regenerate card across his D-Watch that would heal Bezil of the wounds he sustained for a bit. “Are you alright?” Justice asked, concern flickered over his face. He felt a wave of fear washing over him, realizing that they've made a mistake fighting these two, but he didn't want to show it, wanting to act as moral support. “Listen, if push comes to show, I’ll protect you until you can get back up on your feet. That’s what your dad would want for me to do. And I know, I’m only just a human, but dammit if I’m gonna go down, then I’m gonna go down swinging!”
Combat Log:Gummy takes damage from Taomon's Talisman Shield.Vee and Gummy uses Firenado Spiral on both Taomon and Doumon! Firenado Spiral - Vee forms an energy sphere in one hand while Gummy adds an intense blue flame to mix with it. The two then charge, drilling the unstable sphere into the opponent, causing massive damage. [Cooldown: 4 turns] Justice slides Regenerate, slowly healing Bezil for 3 turns. Card used:Regenerate!

As he struggled to breathe from Doumon's attack, Bezil was glad to hear Gummy's voice in all of this. Yeah, they wouldn't go down so easily here. They had love and righteousness on their side, while all these two had was evil.
But it seemed that Vee and Gummy didn't heed his words, although in the end, Bezil didn't expect them to. All he could do was watch as they prepared their combination attack. But he was distracted as Justice picked him up and rushed him to safety. Bezil was somewhat surprised by how strong humans were, not even Owen could lift him up in his champion form. Then Justice activated a Restoration card on him, making the pain of the attack he took fade a little.
Bezil's yellow eyes blinked with surprise at Justice's words, but then he smiled. "Glad you're with us here, mate." was all he could say in this moment. Then he turned to see how Vee and Gummy were faring.
Taomon and Doumon meanwhile watched the twins build up the flames for their attack. For the moment, they stood still, making no efforts to dodge, but they held their brushes at the ready. They were prepared, with matching wicked grins.
Bezil could only hope that Vee and Gummy's strengthened attacks could pierce through. He knew that even Ultimate level digimon weren't invincible to attacks from lower levels. After all, Taomon had clearly been damaged at least a little by his own and Vee's strikes.
"Kimontonkou!" Doumon chanted as he deftly painted a strange round rune in the air. As Vee and Gummy closed in, a bright light shone around them, forming a large transparent sphere around them. Their perceptions would be under the effect of Doumon's magical labyrinth, they would still have the impression of continuing to charge forward, but Doumon and Taomon would come no closer as they were suspended in the barrier.
"No! Stop!!" Bezil cried out as he saw Taomon move in to complete the deadly combination. But she took no notice as she painted another rune in front of her.
"Bonhitsusen!!" Taomon shouted as the talisman of light in front of her glowed, then shot straight at the barrier, aiming to shatter through and strike Vee and Gummy. The ultimate level spell would inflict agony on its target with searing light power.
Bezil can make no attacks this turn while he is immobilized, but he is healed slightly by Regenerate.

Justice gave Bezil a nod before turning his attention to Vee and Gummy, the two just about finished charging their combined attack. They only used that move once, and that was against a Reverse Weddinmon a while back. The attack was so strong it was enough to make a thirty-story building in Terminus City collapse in on itself.
He clenched his fist anxiously as the two began their charge towards Taomon and Doumon. They remained stationary, somewhat beckoning Vee and Gummy to hit them with everything they’ve got. This was the twin’s trump card; their strongest attack. The amount of concentration it took to even form it was impressive on its own, so there’s no way this was going to end in a fluke, right?
Wrong.
Justice’s eyes widened in horror as Doumon made his move, trapping Vee and Gummy in a barrier where the perception of everything around them flowed differently. Taomon followed up, firing an energy of light at the twins, consuming them in the process.
“VEE!! GUMMY!!” Justice cried out, tearing his throat. This was it. This was the end. These two Ultimate-level Digimon just showed up and completely obliterated his partners—literally. He wanted to do something, wanting to run at the two Digimon themselves but knowing it would be futile.
The blast fizzled out into smoke, and to Justice’s immense relief, it wasn’t particles of data that floated out. Instead, Vee and Gummy, now back to their Rookie forms, sent flying where he and Bezil were at. Critically injured, but not deleted.
Justice immediately dashed towards his partners, forgetting the presence of both Taomon and Doumon. His D-watch was beeping critically. “C’mon you guys. Open your eyes, please!”
Neither Vee nor Gummy moved, but at least both ever-so-slightly opened their eyes. Their expressions were glazed and unfocused, but they were alive.
“They’re...too strong.” Vee muttered, his voice wavering. “I thought that...we had a chance. I guess... we were all wrong.”
Gummy tried to get up but to no avail. He couldn’t even squirm to Bezil. For the first time ever, he felt helpless, powerless, and there was nothing he could do about it.
Seeing this, desperating began to pain Justice’s face. “Bezil, we’ve got to get them out of here, fast! If not, we’re…” He slammed a fist into the sand, realizing that there was no point. "What a stupid way to die..."
Combat Log:
Vee and Gummy take direct hits from both Doumon and Taomon's attack, reverting back to their Rookie forms, heavily injured.
Cooldowns:
Spin Caliber: 2/2 ; ready for use. EX-Laser: 2/2 ; ready for use. Firenado Spiral: 1/4
