“Oh, we’re about to finish it alright…” The fiendish harlequin retorted, panting ever so slightly. That Grave Scream had hurt him more than he was willing to admit, but he wouldn’t be much of a Demon King if he wavered at the first sign of trouble. Looking back at Yuko, who was obviously worried about him, he smiled reassuringly. “It’ll take a few moments before I can set up my Masks Square again. You may have to use one of those cards of yours.”Nodding, the young hooligan pulled a Renamon card out of her deck box, and scanned it against her D-Arc. That card was highly sought out by collectors, who for some reason found anthropomorphic foxes appealing, so Yuko was glad that she had managed to get her hands on it before the scalpers made the prices skyrocket. “Digi-Modify! Renamon’s Kohenkyo, activate!”Piedmon’s body vanished in a swirl of wind, narrowly avoiding being cleaved by the mechanical reaper’s scythe, as well as perfectly dodging the latter’s Lost Soul attack. The ever elusive clown reappeared on the side that coincided with his opponent’s damaged eye socket - his blind spot, essentially - whereupon he fired a glowing Hearts symbol at MetalPhantomon. “Mad Love!” Hellish Clown [Passive]: As a mysterious Demon Man Digimon from another dimension, and a master of magic and trickery, he gains a high evasion boost against magical, elemental and/or energy-based attacks, at the cost of lowering his defense against physical attacks.
Mad Love [Attack]: A floating Hearts symbol latches onto the opponent’s body, rapidly sapping their strength and using it to heal the user by a moderate amount. Has a 3 turn cooldown.

MetalPhantomon growled in anger as the jester was able to dodge his attack yet again. The metallic reaper was starting to think that conquering this junkyard of a town wasn't worth the trouble of having to fight this stupid clown and his annoying partner, but his pride refused to allow him to give up quite yet. Chuckling darkly, the reaper then told his foe, "You know, I don't even care about this stupid town anymore. Once I finish tearing you apart, the pathetic fools living here can keep it!"
MetalPhantomon used his scythe to literally slice the incoming Mad Love in half, before using the scythe to fling a cloud of dust at the Piedmon in order to obscure his vision. Then, the reaper would deactivate his scythe's energy blade and try to flank his opponent before quickly rushing in to perform another Soul Drain on the Piedmon. Hopefully this would allow MetalPhantomon to restore his mangled hand. Lost Soul: 1/1

Piedmon scoffed, apparently entertained by his opponent’s vexation. “Hah! I’m not head over heels for this town either. This isn’t some petty turf war, it’s about making a point!” He responded, before raising his arm into the air, open palm facing the sky. “Time to set the stage again… MASKS SQUARE!” He roared, allowing his magical force field to engulf the area anew. The flamboyant jester coughed as a cloud of dust obscured his vision, courtesy of his embittered foe. “Are you trying to *cough* pull a sneak attack on me? Darling, I’m the KING of playing dirty!” He quipped, grinning smugly despite his precarious position. It was true that he couldn’t see MetalPhantomon’s scythe under these conditions, but the hatred and malice emanating from the cyborg’s single, glowing eye was enough to tip him off. Thus, Piedmon managed to teleport away to safety, avoiding the Soul Drain move at the last second. Reappearing right next to his Tamer, the self-proclaimed Demon King picked the human girl up in a bridal carry and started jumping from rooftop to rooftop. “If you wanna tear me apart, you’ll have to catch me first!” He exclaimed, taunting his opponent even further and goading them into chasing after him. Hellish Clown [Passive]: As a mysterious Demon Man Digimon from another dimension, and a master of magic and trickery, he gains a high evasion boost against magical, elemental and/or energy-based attacks, at the cost of lowering his defense against physical attacks.

"Ugh, this worthless town simply isn't worth the hassle of dealing with you two." MetalPhantomon muttered to himself in frustration, glaring at the Piedmon after the clown evaded his grasp once more. It seemed that the two Mega-level Digimon had more or less reached a stalemate, as neither one of them could gain enough of an advantage to deal a finishing blow to the other. Even the Bakemon and Vilemon duking it out in the background were evenly matched as well.
MetalPhantomon decided to retry his previous tactic of creating a dust cloud and deactivating his scythe to hide his position, although this time he purposely dimmed the glow of his eye to make it harder for the reaper to be detected as he circled around the jester in an attempt to sneak up on the clown from behind.
Once he was close enough to strike, MetalPhantomon quickly reactivated his scythe to unleash another attack on Piedmon. "Soul Predator! For once, the tricky pierrot didn’t have enough time to evade the incoming charge, so he screamed in pain as his opponent’s enlarged laser-scythe slashed at his shoulder, leaving a nasty, data-leaking gash. “GYAAH! Yuko, are you alright?” The Demon Man Digimon asked, making sure that his Tamer was still safe in his arms. “Never mind me, are YOU alright?” Yuko - who had almost lost her grip due to the shock of impact, but was otherwise unscathed - replied. Despite his pain, the Clown Prince mustered a strained smirk. “I’ve never felt better!”Jumping off the last rooftop, Piedmon spun in midair, until he was facing the mechanical reaper, whereupon he outstretched one arm, while holding firmly onto Yuko’s waist with the other. “You can spare yourself the hassle anytime you want, but if you do, you’ll be forever known as the one who failed to slay the Demon King! Ending Snipe!” He exclaimed, firing another homing magical projectile towards MetalPhantomon’s one gaping weakness, namely the exposed core that was tucked between his metallic ribs. If such an attack connected, it would be a game changer, perhaps even lethal! The so-called Demon King wouldn’t stick around long enough to find out, though. Rather, he willed himself to fall smoothly in the narrow alleyway located between the two adjacent buildings, landing perfectly on his feet. There, he finally set the human girl down and gazed upwards, waiting for his opponent to catch up to him. “He probably won’t be happy about that.” The Japanese delinquent remarked, dusting off her punkish clothes. The jester’s smile widened. “That’s what I’m counting on…” Hellish Clown [Passive]: As a mysterious Demon Man Digimon from another dimension, and a master of magic and trickery, he gains a high evasion boost against magical, elemental and/or energy-based attacks, at the cost of lowering his defense against physical attacks.

MetalPHantomon did his best attempt at a smirk as he felt his scythe cut into the jester, which wasn't easy when you were a metal skeleton. Finally, he'd managed to land a blow on this clown! However, that glee was quickly replaced by stunned shock as MetalPhantomon felt his core being pierced by the Piedmon's ending Snipe.
"What... what have y-you... done? C-curse you! CURSE YOOOOUUU! AAAAGGGHHH!" MetalPhantomon screamed pout as he grasped at his damaged core. The cybernetic reaper started convulsing violently as his own body started tearing itself apart, and actual flames erupting from MetalPhantomon's ribcage, eyes, and mouth. The reaper's scythe fell to the ground, as the reaper was unable to hold on to it as his body started self-destructing due to the lethal damage.
The reaper could only let out one last agonized scream before his mechanical body violently exploded, leaving nothing but a cloud of data drifting through the air.
Was this truly the end...?

Hearing the cursing and the violent explosion that followed, both Piedmon and Yuko blinked twice in confusion. “Did that actually kill him? Huh…” The delinquent girl muttered. “I shall go and check on him.” The demonic jester said, his feet parting with the ground as he slowly floated upwards. “You may tag along, but keep your distance.”“In case he’s still alive, right?” The teenage Tamer asked. “No, because I’m going to gloat, and I prefer gloating on my lonesome. It’s a Demon King thing, you wouldn’t understand.” The clown replied. Soon, the Demon Man Digimon reached the spot where his opponent had left his last mechanical breath, inspecting the wreckage with a toxically smug smile plastered across the bottom half of his face. “Heh. So much for claiming this town in the name of your master. If I were your master, the only job I’d trust you with would be scrubbing the floors of my castle! Speaking of scrubs, what are those darn Vilemon up to?”As if on cue, a rather beat up Vilemon landed next to the haughty Demon King, its ugly head covered in bandages. “We’ve held off the Bakemon just like you ordered, Jokah-sama!” The hideous gremlin declared, saluting the clown. “Excellent, Vilemon-whose-name-I-forgot! Now it’s time to finish them off as well…” Jokah stated, nonchalantly swiping his hand and causing a roaring wind to blow towards the swarm of Bakemon. “Toy Wonderness!” He was confident that his exploding plushies would make quick work of the ghostly minions, so he stood on the edge of the rooftop with his hands around his waist, ready to watch the fireworks. The Piedmon was confident that he had won, but things were not as clear-cut as he'd thought. As the clown unleashed his exploding plushies on the Bakemon, who all scrambled to avoid being blown up, the scattered data of the MetalPhantomon started to slowly gather back together into a mass of data. In a matter of moments, the mass had reconstructed itself back into the imposing form of MetalPhantomon, now restored to pristine condition once more.
The cybernetic reaper would take advantage of Piedmon being distracted by the Bakemon by attempting to strike at the clown's exposed back with his scythe. "Did you truly think that I would go down so easily, clown? I have lived for many centuries and gathered such knowledge that even death itself cannot claim me for long!"
Reinvigorated by their commander's resurrection, the beat-up Bakemon rallied themselves and charged back into the fray against the Vilemons. The Vilemon-whose-name-Jokah-forgot started sweating profusely, turning its head rapidly back and forth between the reviving MetalPhantomon and its blissfully oblivious master, who had no idea what was happening. “Uuuuh… Jokah-sama?” The Small Devil nervously uttered. Luckily, the flamboyant Demon King sensed the scythe that was inches away from slashing at his back, and used the power of his Masks Square to teleport out of the way at the last second. Meanwhile, the Vilemon Troop resumed their evenly matched scuffle with the Bakemon and there was utter and complete chaos, as if someone had turned back time to when this whole fight had originally started and there were no consequences. Piedmon reappeared floating behind the cybernetic reaper. Though he was visibly annoyed by this reanimation ‘trick’, he still smiled to keep up appearances. “Did you truly enjoy being killed by the Demon King so much, you decided you wanted to experience it twice? Very well, I shall grant your wish! Mad Love! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!” The fiendish jester roared with his signature evil laughter, while shooting another holographic Hearts symbol towards his reanimated adversary. MetalPhantomon tightened his grip on his scythe as the Piedmon unleashed another bout of his accursed laughter. He would attempt to block the incoming Mad Love attack by grabbing a nearby Vilemon and using it as a living meat shield before tossing it away. Never let it be said that the reaper didn't learn from his past mistakes.
Remembering the effects of Piedmon's Masks Square, the reaper would back away in order to create some space between him and the Piedmon while the MetalPhantomon moved outside of the border of the Masks Square. The field would make attacking the clown head-on a pointless endeavor, so MetalPhantomon was attempting to stall until the field's effect wore off. It was at this point that the reaper would finally respond to Piedmon's taunt. "No, I don't believe it will be I who is going to die this time. I won't fall for your tricks and let you rile me up again." MetalPhantomon evaded another of Jokah’s attacks, only he did it in the most creative way possible, namely by grabbing one of the Vilemon and using it as a meatshield. Thing was, as long as his Mad Love attack hit something, the self-proclaimed Demon King would still get the benefits, and he wouldn’t exactly lose his sleep if one of his disposable underlings got hurt in the process. The poor gremlin screamed as its vitality was sapped away and used to heal its master by a moderate amount, before being promptly tossed away by its captor. Luckily, it landed safely in the tender arms of a beautiful woman whose face was radiant with holiness - or at least appeared to be from the Vilemon’s blurry point of view. “An angel… Have I died and reached the Avalon Fields?” It weakly muttered. “Sorry, buddy, but I’m no angel.” Yuko replied, as her multitude of face piercings finally stopped reflecting the sunlight. “And I’m pretty sure you’re alive. You just gotta take a rest, okay?” The delinquent girl added, ruffling the beat up Vilemon’s hair. Meanwhile, Piedmon keenly observed his opponent’s movements. Curiously, the cybernetic reaper wasn’t trying to attack him this time around, instead biding his time just barely out of Masks Square’s reach. A big smile crept across the clown’s red lips. “How clever of you. It makes perfect sense that someone like you - a sniveling coward who is so afraid of dying, he even engineered a way to cheat death - would go out of his way to avoid being hurt.” He taunted his opponent, despite the latter’s claim that he wouldn’t let it affect him again. “You can’t hide forever, though. Death claims us all eventually. To presume otherwise would make you an even bigger clown than I! Take this… Trump Sword!” The fiendish jester exclaimed, hurling his four signature swords towards MetalPhantomon at breakneck speed. "Oh, I know that even my methods of cheating death have their limits, but I do not need to hold it at bay forever. I do not fear death like a coward, but I still have a purpose to fulfill in this world, so I will use any means necessary to achieve it." MetalPhantomon replied to the jester's taunt, while spinning his scythe to block the incoming swords. Something seemed to have changed in the MetalPhantomon, as the reaper seemed more solemn than he was earlier. "Only once my master has achieved his goals, will I allow myself to die."
Once the swords had all been deflected, Metalphantomon threw his scythe at the jester once more. He didn't want to get too close to the clown while the Masks Square was still active, so he resorted to using one of his ranged attacks. Even if the clown dodged, it would still be easy for the reaper to summon his scythe back to him if he need to protect himself. “Your loyalty to your master is admirable. However, you made the mistake of crossing the Demon King, and now you’ll be able to do naught but curse your own fate.” Piedmon said, reaching behind his back and drawing one of the swords that respawned on his magic box after his Trump Sword attack had failed to connect. “Trump Suits!” He exclaimed, causing the sword in his hand to be coated in magical flames. As his Masks Square field slowly but surely dissipated again, the Hellish Clown used one last teleportation to make the flying scythe vanish into thin air, only for it to reappear directly above MetalPhantomon himself. It seemed that his wish for his scythe to come back to him was granted sooner than he had thought. While the macabre-looking cyborg would be forced to deal with the immediate threat of being hit by his own attack, the evil jester rushed forward, quickly bridging the gap between him and his opponent. “En garde!” He roared, attempting to sever the cyborg’s right arm with his flame-coated blade. Thanks to being empowered by the Fire Element, even a basic attack such as this should do more damage than it otherwise would have. "If commanding a horde of pathetic imps makes you a Demon King, then I am the Emperor of the Dark Area." The MetalPhantomon sarcastically taunted, attempting to use the clown's own tactic against him.
The reaper was surprised that the Piedmon was able to get one last teleport in before the Masks square dissipated, but quickly recovered as he floated to the side and adjusted his outstretched his arm to catch his falling scythe and shoot the jester an 'are you kidding me?' look. Did the clown seriously believe that the reaper wouldn't have experience in catching his own Yggdrasil-damned scythe that he's wielded for centuries? "A nice trick that likely would have worked on a lesser foe, but my scythe will always return to my hand through the power of electromagnetism. Even an undead sorceror like myself shouldn't underestimate the power of science."
As he caught the scythe, the MetalPhantomon would twirl the scythe around him and smoothly flow into unleashing a Soul Predator to counter the so-called Demon King's flaming sword. Even enhanced with magic, the flaming blade likely wouldn't withstand the attack, as the Soul Predator's sheer size and power should be enough to cleave straight through the flaming sword (and the Piedmon too, if the jester didn't find some way to avoid being bisected). The Clown Prince scoffed at MetalPhantomon’s sarcastic taunt. “Hah, don’t be ridiculous! The Emperor of the Dark Area would be Plutomon!” He replied, but the time for witty back-and-forth was over, as the mechanical reaper swiftly caught his scythe and blocked Piedmon’s sword attack with it, before parrying with his signature Soul Predator attack. Science would prevail over sorcery this time, as the demonic jester couldn’t move fast enough to dodge the attack from such close range, only mitigating the damage slightly by using the blunt side of his blade to shield himself. The sheer impact knocked him several feet back, as he grunted in pain. His previously bright and immaculate clothes, now damaged and torn in several places, made it clear that the Hellish Clown had not escaped this clash unscathed. Still, he mustered a cocky grin, staying optimistic against all odds. “Here’s some science for you. What do you get when you mix fire with dangerous explosives? Let us find out! Toy Wonderness!” Piedmon swiped his hand horizontally to produce another roaring gust of wind, only this time he also tossed his flaming sword towards the flying plush toys that were swept up by the powerful currents. This resulted in the teddy bears being detonated one by one in rapid succession, culminating in one very large explosion that would hopefully engulf MetalPhantomon. That was supposedly the plan, anyway.
