Ruins in the desert, Clayton had to admit he wasn't expecting to see something like this in the digital world. So far everything had been quite nuts, one thing after another. A large forest, a iron clad town and now ruins in the middle of the desert! He had been around nothing quite like this before so taking in every sight was very much on his mind as he slowly road past with the hoverboard he bought before, seriously this digital world thing was pretty great so far. Slowly he made his way closer and closer to the ruins nearby, however as he made his way he felt somewhat of a chill run up his spine despite the desert heat, slowing down Clayton looked around a bit for anything nearby. Nothing but destroyed buildings nearby littered the area. Thinking it was just in his mind he started going again when he saw a digimon out of the corner of his eye.
It was a digimon he knew pretty well, a Kotemon. It was what he could turn into, the digimon looked at him in the eyes before rushing off away from the teen, after a bit they looked back. Did they want Clayton to follow them? Clayton thought for a few moment wondering if this was a set up, however something in the back of his head told him to follow the Kotemon, some burning desire inside told him to go towards the digimon. Turning around with the hoverboard Clayton started going after the digimon in question. Even though he was on a hoverboard and the Kotemon was running Clayton couldn't close the distance. Still Clayton followed them through the ruins, ending up near a large ruin.
Clayton jumped off the board, letting it return to his Infinite cube he started walking towards the area in question. The Kotemon was nowhere to be found but there was a hint of a building in the sand, however there was something else in the sand. bending down Clayton wiped the sand from the area, slowly revealing a door of some sort, it was pretty old, almost completely gone. Clayton opened the door revealing a large set of stairs leading down, looking down he pulled out his flashlight and going down the staircase, watching his back as he did and holding his digivice in his hand.
Slowly he made his way down the stairs, it was quite the deep entrance. Eventually it straightened out leading down a large hall, simple design no symbols or anything around the area. Slowly he made his way to the end of the hall, what sat in his face was a large door, there was a clear mark through the middle but no way to open it. Clayton made an attempt to push it, however there was no way he was making it move. Sighing he was about to give up and use his digi-port to leave, but as he pulled out his digivice the door silently opened as his device glowed with a brilliant light, engulfing the area in light, Shielding his eyes eventually it subsided and the door was open revealing a large empty room. Nothing was inside save a lone sword sitting in the middle of a pedestal.
Clayton made his way towards the sword, looking it over it seemed to have a face. It was a bit weird that him a Kendo student would find something like this but still. That feeling came through again and he decided to follow the feeling, grabbing the sword by the hilt he slowly started to pull the blade up. it didn't budge at first but as he pulled his digivice started glowing once more, the symbol of his spirit made itself clear as he pulled, with one last huff as his digvice forced him to evolve into Kotemon Clayton pulled the blade from the stone, stumbling a bit as he did. Looking up at the sword in his hand he pulled it down looking at it closer.
Clayton was looking it over when he suddenly heard. "Ko?" Clayton looked around, confused at the sudden voice he just heard. "Ko, is that you?" The voice asked before letting out a small yawn. "Mmmh, I so sleepy, you let me sleep too long. Repairs couldn't of taken that long." Clayton looked at the sword, the voice seemed to be coming from it, Clayton confused let his spirit evolution fade away. "Uhh, sorry. I'm not Ko, My names Clayton?" He felt weird telling a sword that but as he said that the blade suddenly transformed into a small creature with a blade on their head. "Huh, Not Ko? But that's impossible, only Ko could-" she looked at Clayton up and down, curious as to what he was. "What are you anyway, I've never seen a digimon like you."
"I'm not a digimon, I'm a human." The sword digimon was surprised, a human. Also a human that could draw her from the stone. "I see, well human I'm impressed you were able to pull me from my resting place, my name is Zubamon, Zu is what most call me." She gave a small bow, Clayton took that to tell his name. "My name's Clayton Herron, pleased to meet you." He returned his own awkward bow. "I see, then Clayton if I may make a request. Originally I was supposed to be awakened by my best friend, I cannot stay here after all so please. Could you assist me in finding them?" Zu looked down for a bit before thinking of something. "I won't ask for free however, I can assist you in learning to wield a sword, I assume by that form you take you're used to using a sword?" Clayton nodded before thinking it over, it would help to learn a bit more about how to use one as a digimon.
"Alright Zu, you have a deal. I'll help you find that digimon." With a smile a deal was struck between the two of them. However once Zu left the ruin she'd find much more had changed then she first anticipated. However that's for another story.
