From down below in an underground prison, two Gorillamon were dragging a human alongside the cold stone ground. The human had his hands and feet shackled together and was barely conscious. The two Digimon didn't seem to care much about the state of their prisoner as they just kept on dragging the human around like a ragdoll. As they got further and further underground, it seemed that this part of the prison was empty. The cells had markings on the iron bars but there was no one else. After what seemed like an innumerable time, the two Digimon came to a small cell and threw the human into it. They didn't even take time to lock the cell door, simply closing it with a loud slamming sound. Laughing as they got away, Desmond tried to open his eyes. His body was hurting from every muscle. His left eyebrow was cut leaving a large open wound with blood spewing down to his eye. His hands and feet were shaking from the cold and he had a very hard time just breathing.

After what seemed like an innumerable time, the two Digimon came to a small cell and threw the human into it. His left eyebrow was cut leaving a large open wound with blood spewing down to his eye. His hands and feet were shaking from the cold and he had a very hard time just breathing.
Desmond was coughing blood but he was still trying to breathe from his mouth. He spat on the ground next to him several times and after a while, he could finally take a deep breath, only to spit more of the red liquid. He could only open his right eye and even then, he didn't have his glasses so everything was blurry. The only source of light was from a small rectangular hole on one side of the cell near the ceiling. Soon enough, there would be no light at all. Moving his hands toward his face to take a proper look at the shackles, the blond tamer couldn't see if they could be removed without a key. He knew very well that he wasn't strong enough to break them apart. As for his feet, he couldn't even move them. Resting on his left side, the human murmured a short prayer. The prayer wasn't for him though, it was for his partner. "Please... Take care of Demi..." He whispered. He had no idea where the DemiMeramon was gone.
Two days ago, Desmond was just going trough places with Demi at his side. It was just an ordinary day, the sky was blue and there was a small yet comfortable breeze. Demi was munching on a bar of chocolate and Desmond was just happy to be in the Digital World. The two just made their way to the Village of Beginnings when something caught their attention. A flash of light from a bit further away. Without thinking, the duo made their way toward that light and saw a young girl, barely ten or so draped in white. In her hands, there was a device that did not look like any kind of Digivice they saw before. The girl seemed to be unconscious at first. Desmond went closer to see if she was alive and she was indeed breathing. They decided that it would be best to stay by her side until she wakes up. Maybe she was another tamer that just fell into the Digital World. In any case, it was his duty to make sure that she was alright. After all, they wouldn't be able to cope with no helping a human in need.
It took several hours for the girl to finally wake up and when she did, there was something eerie about her eyes. They were as blue as the ocean and glowing? Demi was fascinated by those blue eyes and inched closer to take a proper look. "Oooooh!" The Digimon couldn't believe how beautiful those eyes were. The girl didn't blink once but she did smile upon seeing the DemiMeramon. Her attention swiftly shifted to Desmond who was getting tired. She titled her head to one side. "You are not from here." She said in an angelic voice. The blond tamer just assumed that she meant that he wasn't a Digimon. "I'm not from this world, no." He simply answered. "Are you?" The girl dressed in white nodded. "I am from this world... But I am not supposed to be here." That got the human curious and got closer and sat in front of her with Demi floating next to his tamer. "Do you need to be somewhere?" Desmond slowly asked. The girl nodded. "Yes, I need to be at the City of Luminas." The tamer looked at his tiny partner, he never heard of that place but then, he knew that he only saw a fraction of this wide world. Looking around her, the girl with the angelic voice stood up and began floating.
"I need to be there." She repeated with concern in her voice. Desmond wasn't sure if she was a Digimon or not but she clearly needed to be somewhere else and felt that he should help her. "We will come with you." He said while looking at Demi who smiled back. "Yes!" The girl seemed surprised by their enthusiasm. "It won't be safe, and it is a long way from here." The human laughed and stood up. "Never stopped us before." He joked. While he knew how dangerous this world can be, he wasn't going to let a little girl on a journey that she claims to be unsafe by herself. "It will be safer with us around, trust me." Desmond was smiling and after a second, the girl smiled back. "I have nothing to repay you." To this, Demi laughed. "It's okay!" He cheerfully shouted. "I'm sure it will be fun!"
The mysterious girl then looked at the small device in her hands. It was also glowing faintly. "If anything, promise me that you take this to the City of Luminas." She slowly spoke. Desmond was feeling that maybe the journey ahead was going to be harder but he said that he was going to help and he wasn't going to back down. "Please, promise me that." The blond tamer looked at Demi again who was still smiling. "Of course." He then said after a pause. "We will take you to erm, the City of Luminas?" He wasn't sure if he was saying it right. "So do you like, float or do you walk?" The human timidly asked. That made the girl chuckle and her feet touched the ground. "I do walk." Desmond also laughed and then stretched his long legs. "Oh, where's my manners. I'm Desmond, Desmond Edmund. And this is Demi." The fireball lifted his tiny arms into the air. "Demi Edmund!" He shouted with joy. "How about you? Got any name?" The girl looked confused for them having the same name. "I... Don't have a name." She said while looking at the two. Desmond took a moment to think. "I guess we can call you... Blue eyes?" He half-joked. "Blue!" Demi then shouted. "Yes, Blue. We will call you Blue." It took a moment for Blue to finally nodded. "I... do like this name."
And with that, the three of them began making their way. Seeing that they couldn't fly, they would have to find another way there and Blue told them that she knew exactly where to go. It was a bit far but it was okay, it was an adventure. At least, to Demi and Desmond it was. As for Blue, it was hard to tell, sometimes she was smiling like a little kid but most times, she looked worried. Demi would hold her hand while walking to make her smile and Desmond was walking a bit behind them. He would whistle an old tune from times on times trying to make it move lively. Strangely enough, they did not meet any other Digimon so far and they had been walking for several hours now. Yet, there was something strange in the air. Like something was following them. The human would look behind a few times but couldn't find anything suspicious so he just didn't say anything. Besides, that might make Blue worry even more. They arrived at a large piece of land, an open field of long golden grass. It was beautiful to look at but what was the strangest is that Desmond was sure that he has been here before and that field was not here before. "We are close," Blue said with a hint of joy in her eerie voice. "There is a portal nearby."
By then, Desmond and Demi were familiar with portals so they didn't question it. After all, his Digivice could open portals all the time. "We need to look for a circle on the ground..." Blue said a bit worried. How would they find something with that long golden grass around? Desmond sighed. Well, they weren't going to give up now, would they? Demi was half-covered and couldn't see much but going around did seem kind of fun. Like playing hide or seek. "We'll go this way!" Demi shouted while still holding Blue's hand. The girl followed the living fireball but didn't felt safe getting away from the human. Desmond smiled and waved at them. "Don't go too far!" He shouted at the two of them. "Okies!"
It would take them an hour before seeing something that looked unusual. It was Desmond that found a crop circle on the ground. It was about a meter wide and the ground was blue here. Being much taller, the Frenchman looked around and found Blue by her bright light hair. "Found something!" He shouted out loud. "Come!" The girl quickly turned around to see where the tamer was and made her way to him with Demi still holding her hand. As they got closer and closer, the ground began shaking. Desmond almost lost his footing but managed to stay on his feet. The ground rumbled for a moment before stopping leaving the three of them more scared than anything. "We need to go now," Blue said with clear concern in her voice. "Come, hold my hand." Desmond nodded and took her tiny hand and they all stepped into the crop circle.
With a flash of light, they were someplace new. Desmond and Demi were in awe at how beautiful it was. Blue was also smiling. "We are close!" She expressed her joy openly. Desmond was about to say something when a strange feeling overcame him. There was something else here. He slowly looked behind them and saw movement in the distance. Whatever it was, it was coming to them quickly. The Frenchman didn't think twice, he lifted Blue into his arms and he began running. "Where do we need to go?" He asked while going away from the movement he saw behind. Blue was confused for a moment when the human took her off the ground. "This, this way!" And she pointed to one direction. The blond tamer couldn't see anything in the distance but he had faith the girl. "Let's move. Demi, come!" And with that, the trio made their way to hopefully, a safer place.
It would only take a few minutes before hearing the voices behind them. "The device!" The voiced boomed. "Take it from her!" So that thing was more important than he thought. It didn't matter now, Blue had to get to that city no matter what. Taking out his Digivice with his left hand while trying to hold on to Blue, Desmond pressed a combination of buttons and the green device made a flash of light. "Demi! Now!" The fireball nodded and after the flash, he became a MetalMeramon. The tamer knew that he wasn't fast enough so Demi would have to either slow them down or distract them somewhere. He chose the first option. The large fire giant roared to get the attention as Desmond and Blue made their way closer and closer to the City. Or at least, that was what they hoped. The tamer didn't like leaving his partner behind like this but protecting Blue and whatever device she was holding felt like something much more important.
After about four or five minutes of running, they could finally see something in the distance. Blue felt joy in her for a moment. "There!" She shouted while pointing ahead. "That's the city!" Desmond was getting a bit tired of running but luckily the adrenaline in his body was helping him keep on. As they reached the edge of the city, the human slowed down and placed the girl on the ground. "Go." He said with a fatherly voice. Blue turned around with confusion. "What?" The tamer pointed ahead. "Go, now!" The girl in white made a few steps and then looked behind. "But you..." She began speaking but Desmond shook his head. "I'll go get Demi." After saying that, he took a few steps back and waved with a smile. "Now go Blue. Be safe." The girl nodded and held on to the small device. "Be safe, please." The Frenchman nodded and smiled weakly. "We'll be fine."
Demi didn't expect the sheer number of Digimon coming toward him. There were maybe five or six of them, all Centarumon. The half-beast Digimon began shooting from their cannon and Demi activated his forcefield to block those shots. However, he knew that he wasn't going to win this fight, he just hoped that Desmond and Blue made it. The Centarumon didn't slow down at all and as they got closer and closer, they rammed into the MetalMeramon with full force. Three of them began stomping the armoured Meramon with their hooves while three of them went chasing Desmond and Blue. Little did they knew that Blue was already in the city and that Desmond was going back to help his partner. With Demi busy trying to fight the Centarumon away from him, Desmond was now facing a rather nasty looking Centarumon. "The device!" It shouted while pointing his cannon at him. Desmond's heart was racing but he took out his Digivice and hide it in his hand and placed his hand in front of him. "Sorry, she's already gone." He was about to make Demi Digivolve once more when one of the cannon shot and the energy blast hit his left side. His Digivice fell to the ground and Desmond lost consciousness.
And this is how Desmond ended up in prison. Beaten but not yet broken. With his right eye open, he looked at the light while it was still there. He couldn't really see much and it was getting cold around him. Soon, he will be alone, in the dark for maybe forever. As the light began dimming, the tamer prayed once more for Demi's safety before causing his eyes. "Please..." When he woke up, he was still alone in this dark place. There was no sound, only his own shackles hitting the floor. He could breathe, better than before but dried blood was still making his left eye blind for now. He had no idea how much time he spent in here and how long would he still be here. He shifted his body to be on his back and took a deep but painful breath. He closed his eye and tried to stay strong just for a bit longer.
"Desmond." That voice, it was Blue. His right eye slowly opened and saw what looked like a small angel. "Blue?" The girl was floating about two inches off the cold ground. "Yes, Desmond." The light that radiated from her body was bright enough to illuminate the whole prison. "Are you..." Blue nodded and got closer to the shackled tamer. "Yes, I am safe. So is Demi." She placed a hand on his face and he could feel warm. So both Blue and Demi made it alive. "I've already sent people to come to get you." Blue smiled at Desmond who tried to laugh. "Please, be strong, We will be there soon." After saying that, Blue began disappearing and darkness took hold of the prison once more. The blond tamer's hope faded away once more. Maybe it was in his head, it was hard to tell in this Digital World. However, there was a small bit of him that was telling him that Blue and Demi were coming to get him. He just didn't know when or even how. Coughing a few times, the human laid his head on the cold stone but kept his eye open, looking at that small hole in the wall. The sun should come in soon, or at least, he hoped that it would.
However, help did not come. He waited there, hours and hours slowly falling unconscious again. He was tapping his finger on the metal chain that he had as a shackle making a small metallic sound every time. In his head, he was counting the seconds with that. He couldn't really remember how much seconds exactly but it was keeping him distracted by the fact that he might be stuck here forever. The sun had come up and down another time, that was his only way of telling that another day has passed. He didn't even try to stand up or escaped, he couldn't even stand up anyway. So he waited and waited. His body was pretty numb by now, as for his mind, he didn't know. "One, two, three..."
On the next day, something happened. He first heard sounds from a distance. He wasn't sure if it was voices or not, but it was definitively sounds. Lifting his head to look at where he thought sounds came from, he began moving his body, slowly moving from his previous position toward the door of the cell. He couldn't reach the door but from afar, he saw light. After a moment of hearing what was maybe a fight or something, the light got brighter. The light became brighter and brighter and then, Blue. The angelic girl was with a troop of Angemon and she looked at the cell the furthest away from them, the one holding Desmond. "Desmond!" Her feet touched the ground and she began running toward the human. All the blond tamer could do was smile. "Blue... You came back..." The girl held his head in her hands and spoke soothingly. "Sorry, it took so long." Blue was trying to not cry. "Demi... Is he?" The girl nodded. "He's safe." After that, the Angemon took Desmond out of the underground prison and back into the outside. He was dizzy by the sunlight and still very weak but he felt, good for a moment before slowly losing consciousness.
When he woke up, he was on a bed surrounded by Demi and Blue. "Desmond!" The fireball said out loud upon seeing his tamer open his eyes. The human tried to smile and speak. "Demi... Blue..." The girl was holding on his hand. "You made it." She said with joy. "We were worried when you fell unconscious. We weren't sure if we were too late." Desmond looked at both of them and felt tears flowing down his face. "The device..." Blue nodded and placed it into his hand. "It's safe." The human felt the device, it was faintly glowing still. "What is it?" He asked without even looking at it. "It's the key to your world. With this, humans and Digimon came freely move from one world to the other. And you made it possible." Desmond wasn't sure what to say. "Of course, Demi helped too!" The fireball laughed and hugged Blue. "Yay!" The Frenchman stayed silent for a moment before laughing. He wasn't sure what that would do, having both world more connected than ever. Maybe it will be a blessing, maybe it will be a curse. But for now, he knew what all this meant to him. It meant that this world will also be home, for everyone.
"Demi, Blue... Thank you."
