Bad to worse.
Why would that Leomon post the mission? To that end, Syre didn't know: "It could be that they were hiring real employees to try and redirect attention. It might be too early to draw conclusions, but if these suspicions are accurate..."
And the more Sixer spoke, the more likely it seemed. The Gargomon grafts, the metal parts from Rapidmon, all grafted onto the Meis to try and make self-serving war machines. Whatever the intent for that was, the BlackGatomon absolutely couldn't ignore it. The blatant trafficking of Digimon, exploiting their feelings to such an end? The cat grit her teeth.
"This might be another job for me. But first..." The feline would lean forward, begin scratching some notes - and would head off right to dad's office. And Dr. Mikemon?
He was astonished to hear what his daughter was saying. A trafficking ring, through performing arts? But the more that Syre spoke, the more the evidence seemed to line up - to the point that the doctor couldn't help but think that something was right there as well. He'd glance over at Silence, and do another good look through the notes, shaking his head.
"... Damn it, this is circumstantial at best. But if something like this is actually happening..." The doctor bit his lip. "Its a matter of how deep it goes. I imagine once this is reported, all of the leads are going to conveniently vanish."
"Tch... so it'll be hard to know if there's even a lead to begin with..."

”If that’s the case there’s a lot of ground to cover.”
Sixer shifted a bit and she’d start pulling through the various reports; many of them were headed by anonymous people. All of them however had similar IPs that the meicrackmon type could track to a single point; or at least the ones in terminus. A library just outside of the district center… That was right within Malgonoth’s hub. Sixer’s eyes narrowed and she’d flick her ears a few times as syre started to scratch some notes.
While she did that she’d slowly start to poke around; pulling up information and seeing what she could see. It seemed to her that some of the studio’s were real. They were far far reaching and too big to be simply influenced. But the smaller ones? They were far younger and they were the most suspect. Some of them had just cropped up overnight!
She’d read each report of the singers, performers and in one case an actor that had vanished. They all had the same sort of motif and all of them had just cropped up out of nowhere too… Only to vanish a few months into it. Some of the reports were closed out… but the one pending was one out in rustport. Which made the meicrackmon’s eyes narrow. It was the most recent…
...Time to see what I can find.
Silence at first wasn’t paying full attention but… when syre started to talk about trafficking rings? And the way that they were conducted she’d put down what she was reading; her icy blue eyes locking onto syre. She’d step over to read over his shoulder; frowning slightly.
”So we don’t report it. Not until we hit each of these places all at once. Two in terminus, practically right next to each other. One in whitewater and by the looks of it there’s even one in luminas; but it was shut down ages ago. Doesn’t mean that it’s scrubbed but it’s a place I can easily get into.”
Silence slid her finger across the notes and bit her inner cheek; she didn’t like the look of all of these places and if they hit them too quickly people might balk… She’d tut a bit and then look up to see sixer who was pouring over two separate tablets.
”...Sixer?”
Our leads are solid, no actual reports of any kind have been made and any that have were waived by District Director Malganoth. Save for one and that was mine shortly after I was kidnapped. My suggestion is if we’re to handle this discreetly? Someone deals with the active ones all at once, or at least prods into them. While someone talks to the director. The other active instances should be buddied up. In total… two people for each? That’d be six. As the one in luminas is a dead zone and silence can handle that on her own. And if the one in rustport is a proper active lab? It might take more than just your regular team to handle it.
Sixer would put down a mission write up in front of the group and her face seemed rather… clear in terms of emotion. Like she was ready and raring to go.
”I don’t think we have any time to lose, every second is precious. I don’t think we’re wrong. But I also don’t think we have any room to maneuver if this turns out to be a bust and we flush the wrong people...”

'So we don't report it'.
Syre's ears perked up, but Dr. Mikemon's ears flattened against his head, as Silence gave such a bold proclamation from the start. He let her speak, but past that, Mikemon was quick to point out the issues with that: "You're talking about vigilante justice. If it ends up being nothing, you might end up in deep trouble yourself - and even if it is, if not reported, we might end up getting a lot of innocent Digimon mixed up in this."
"Dad, c'mon, we're both Knights. I'm pretty sure stuff like this is exactly our paygrade." Syre sighed, shaking her head. Dad did have a point - but so did Sixer, as she kept digging deeper and deeper into it.
The longer this was left alone, the more danger this would put onto the potential victims. Sixer was right on one thing:
"... We can't afford to be wrong." The doctor gave a nod. "You three have twenty-four hours. I didn't hear anything from any of you, until one day from now. Figure out everything you can, get back to me - and for the love of god, be careful."

”What I’m talking about is doing our jobs as knights. You label it one way but it’s all the same. Technically speaking we don’t have authority to make these kind of decisions unless we walk through the red tape. But in terminus we don’t really have that option because if we do there’s the chance that they’ll catch wind of it.”
Silence pointed out and shifted so that she was rubbing at the top of mikemon’s head. She knew what they were getting into and after hearing syre she’d shoot a glance at sixer who was pouring over the information on the tablet. In fact was that her usb plugged into it? She must have been reading it so quickly because of the way that her eyes were moving.
”...One day seems a little generous but it’s understandable. If we investigate the one in terminus it’s likely to be an older facility. So they might have records of the other places that we can delve into.”
Sixer stood up and unplugged herself from the tablet; looking a bit miffed at something.
”District director malganoth took office shortly after this ‘studio’ went active. If he’s tied into all of this we know what our step after taking on this facility will be.”
”Twenty four hours does seem a bit… huh. Well. Off to terminus we go then. We’ll be careful don’t worry! Or as careful as we can be.”
It was a rainy day in terminus, coming down in buckets. Silence was wearing her hood and goggles, sixer had adjusted her hat so that the rain was just rolling off of it and her scarves had formed into a somewhat relaxed looking cloak. Syre would be there too; given that they would have all had to come together.
In front of them was the studio; Digital Exceed. A strange name for a recording studio but given what they knew about the place it seemed less so. It looked a lot like the other buildings next to it and was pretty unassuming but… that was probably what they were going for. Sixer glanced to syre and gave a small nod of her head.
”So how are we going to do this? Go in loud? Try to pose as singers? Not entirely sure how either will work unless we somehow initiate a lockdown of some kind…”

One day. Twenty-four hours.
It sounded like a lot, but dad here wasn't giving the group a lot of time. Mikemon's ear flicked as his head was rubbed, the feline giving a sigh. "I'm sure Terminus would be happy to get the Knights involved, with a bit more evidence. But this... its risky."
Risky, but maybe it was the only way they could go about it. Given their limited timeframe, it didn't take them long to get to Terminus, Syre wrapping herself up in a raincoat, as they made their way to the studio: 'Digital Exceed'. Syre's ear flicked at Sixer's question.
"I can't sing worth a damn, Cion can attest to that." Syre shook her head, mulling their options over. "I wonder if news reporters could get in without an appointment... hmph. No matter how much I think about it, it sounds like we're gonna get thrown out the front door."
In which case? The feline's eyes looked towards a nearby alleyway. Any sort of back entrance, a propped window... any way inside. "What we really need to do is find an office computer. Get in, get out. Tch, this is starting to sound like uncle Denny's territory..."

”You’re not wrong there. But inherently anything we do is risky; even just waiting. I’d rather do something than nothing at all.”
Sixer nodded her head; she agreed with silence and well… With their limited timeframe it wasn’t long before they were off to where they needed to be. The rain rolling down the varied weather gear and sixer looked up to the sign. Tilting her hat ever so slightly before narrowing her eyes.
”So we don’t go in through the front and we don’t tell lies. We do this quick and quiet.”
Sixer let out a small huff and leaned up against the wall while silence seemed to be deep in thought. There was an alleyway nearby which likely would lead to a ‘back door’ but would it lead them to where they needed to go? Silence bit her lower lip and it seemed like she had an idea before just shaking her head.
”Well to be honest, anything I come up with isn’t sneaky. It’s kick down the door and go right for the lead’s office. But that’d raise so many alarms tch… wish I was better at this sort of nonsense. I’m a fighter not a sneak...”
She scowled a bit and sixer stepped forward to ease her head around one of the corners. There wasn’t a soul in sight… So they could be a little more out in the open but… She’d flick her ears at hearing ‘uncle denny’. She’d turn her head to look at syre… and then snorted.
”If it’s more like his territory. Then think like he would; do what he would. There’s an alley, there’s upper windows. There’s some that are behind the sign there.”
Sixer pointed to behind the sign and then to the alley; they had two ins that wouldn’t be normal but being caught would likely raise alarm. Sixer flicked her ears a few times and noted that there was a man hole just a little bit down the way too…
”If the building is old enough… it might link into the sewers.”

'Think like how uncle Denny would'.
At that remark, Syre's ear gave a flick, and she looked once more at the studio. Sixer had a few ideas, but all it really took was that one comment to make everything click. And with that, Syre gave a sigh, and signaled for both Silence and Sixer to follow - as the BlackGatomon led the group away from the studio, the rain still pouring around them.
"1:30 AM."
Syre nodded. "Middle of the night, we'll come back. When everyone innocent is out of the office. I'll go to an upper window, bust out one of the locks - and I'll have Silence waiting outside with a walkie-talkie, so I can tell you two if anything happens inside the building. Too risky for all three of us to be in there, but I might need extra muscle on hand."
To that, the cat took a moment to take another breath, trying to center herself. Thinking it through, a particular look entering Syre's eyes.
... One she hadn't used in earnest in a long time. Not since invading the lab Sixer was stored in.

Sixer tilted her head a little bit at seeing that earflick; did something click for her? She’d blink slowly and the other signaled for them to move away from the studio. Silence would follow suit; hands slipping to rub at her chin. Glancing back at the studio for a moment… Both would pause hearing that timeframe but sixer already sort of knew what was going on.
Middle of the night raid. So that the innocent were gone and they could move around in the offices without much of an issue. Silence would slowly nod her head at hearing that explanation and would grit her teeth. Glancing back once again at that studio. A place that could have the same sort of lab that she had heard about underneath the city…
”I can get there pretty quickly and I’m certain that silence can as well… faster than I can at least.”
”I mean yeah I can fly so why wouldn’t… yeah that’s not the point.”
Silence waved her hands and just nodded her head at hearing what the cat had to say. Crossing her arms while sixer seemed to be content at staring at the studio. She’d bite her lip and then just shake her head a few times as if warding off something.
That night?
Well the studio would be for the most part dark save for the front desk. A lone security guard sitting and reading a newspaper. Looking beyond bored with his lot in life. Not really paying attention to what was going on in front of him. It was likely that he had some kind of security cam’s to pay attention to but… who was going to break into a recording studio?
Not many. And not many would be paying attention around it. What with the more or less dead apartments to the right and a closed diner to the left. Syre would have the run of the area around if she really wanted. Silence had decided to stick to one of her more stealthy forms. The black fur of the meicrackmon bristling a bit as she slid along the wall. Walkie in hand.
Behind her sixer remained on watch; her head swiveling back and forth. Scanning for threats and scanning for anything that could be worrisome to the group as a whole. Silence glanced down to syre and nodded her head; a last question on her lips...
”You sure you’re up for this syre?”

In all, a recording studio wasn't likely to have the tightest security in the world. Well, at least not when compared to the upper echelons of Luminas, or even the government buildings within Terminus itself.
This late, in the dead of night, Syre's fur already lent itself to stealthy escapades. And as Sixer and Silence watched on from a distance, Syre herself was already halfway up a fire escape, the feline quietly checking whatever windows she could reach, to see if any were unlocked. Hearing that buzz in her ear, Syre returned her answer:
"Without a doubt. This isn't the first time I've done something like this. Its not even the first time I've done this for Sixer." But Sixer wouldn't be fully aware of that first time -
Ah, this window would do. The lock wasn't properly set in place, and with a slight jostle and a firm push, the feline would get it open, and would effortlessly slide right on into the building. She closed the window behind her, taking quick stock of the room before her. Looking for anything of interest - a desktop, any left-behind electronics, anything that might get a lead into just how this place operated. If there was nothing here, Syre would take to the hall, find the next room, and do the same.
Over and over, until 'something' gave.

Sixer and silence would be on standby for most of this; there wasn’t much for them to do unless syre needed an out. But… It didn’t seem like there was any reason for them to get involved past waiting. Silence nervously fidgeting and sixer just… staring at the building unblinkingly.
Hearing that answer the two shared a glance and they’d just simply have to wait. There truly was nothing they could do but trust in syre not to get caught… Though that last bit had sixer wondering quietly just how much this cat had done for her.
For syre the first room was just what you’d expect from a recording studio; a lot of equipment and various terminals that all were more for singing or musical instruments. One of the offices even had an occupant that was passed out on his desk; by the looks of it it was a veemon. A younger one that seemed to have fallen asleep working on some recording nonsense. Part of this studio actually did what it said it did it seemed.
But ultimately this room wouldn’t really be something that would grab her interest; any computer she’d log into would be near bare bones save for what it was intended for. The next office was what looked to be a waiting room with some books here or there…
But the last one? It was the only door that was locked; though it wouldn’t be hard to jimmy the lock and get inside. Which would yield row after row of computers and a single one that they were all linked to. There was a low hum and it seemed like syre had found a server room of sorts!
The computer was still on and it seemed like the last session was still active; it was obvious that no one had expected someone to come in the dead of night for something like this. But now? Would come the fun part. Having to dig through the computer to find the information that she needed… from over a dozen linked assets.

A server room.
Through the glass of the door, Syre saw the electrical equipment lining the walls, and as the feline tried the door, she found it locked. Well, it might have been locked, sure, but with a little bit of rattling, the cat managed to make her way right into the room.
She'd close the door behind her, and would even move over a chair to block the entrance, before she'd make her way over to the main console. Seeing that the last user had left the screen logged on, Syre tapped a key on the keyboard to make sure it stayed that way. That said, from here, the feline didn't exactly know where to look.
So many files, so many assets... ugh. It took the cat a few tries, but she'd open up a folder, and would direct herself to a 'documents' section, organizing them from 'newest' to 'oldest'. And if it wasn't there, she'd back out, and organize the folders themselves, looking for anything modified recently.
If anything was here, this was really the only way Syre knew to found out what.

With the chair in place it would be easy to assume that the door was still locked even if someone passed by and just simply checked the door. It’d give her a little bit of time if they tried to force their way in. But given the lax security syre really should have counted her blessings.
There were simply hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands of files that would beg going over. Far too many for a simple visit and with the last user still logged in the blackgatomon was at least certain of where to check first and how to check it. Which would yield some results.
Newest would list some of the stuff around the studio; simple easy matters with a few sprinkles of lists of people that had come in. Various individuals of interest; or at least their dossiers. There was nothing really blaring about those ones.
Up unil she got to some of the older files. One of which was locked and was modified two hours ago. The last file to be accessed at this terminal before syre started her escapade. It wouldn’t take too much work to figure out the password, Orion seemed to favor his dead wife quite a bit so… a cursory guess here or there eventually gave way into the file itself.
Which harbored a huge amount of information present to itself; rather than be a file it seemed to be a massive collection of information. Ranging from live videos of experiments to huge lists of individuals that they wanted for various reasons.
But the most ‘recent’ of that particular variant would list a few names that were glaring to the blackgatomon. Namely… Her own name and her three younger sisters. Each with an extensive theory on what could be done with each of them. Her own ‘experiments’ seemed to focus on some of the darker aspects of what she could do.
But there was one name on there that was bolded; as though it was a point of interest even though the person was dead.
Her mother.
There were several speculations of what could be done even if the fox was deceased and it went into grim detail of what could be done even if a fraction of her data was gained for experimental purposes. Even broaching into ripping some from some of the children in order to use it for some experiment even deeper in terminus’ underbelly.
Strangely, none of the meicoomon’s or the meicrackmon’s, or the lone raguelmon that orion had experimented were really labelled with any interest past keeping tabs on them. Sixer and the raguelmon were the ones at the top of that list…. And it seemed as though they had some kind of tracking device on both of them. One mention that sixer’s capture programs were not working and it was impossible to properly tell where she was based off of that.
While the raguelmon’s? Well hers was working and the chip would be primed and ready to go in a few days; which would allow them to use her to capture some of the names on this list...

"Not that... maybe if I add an exclamation point..."
Ah, there it was. Syre managed to get into that particular file, her tail slowly swaying behind as she looked into the records. And what she found, though horrifying, was perfect: the evidence that she'd need to have this studio investigated, and the connections to Orion be exposed. Even if nothing else came from it, a huge visibility boost to the problem would stifle the effectiveness of the entire system.
... That was Syre's thoughts at first. But her curious look through the file quickly made the cat disgusted. Files upon files, videos upon videos - and, most pointedly, the references to Syre and Holly.
The references to Amber and Coal.
... Holy fuck they're active in Snowpoint.
Syre blinked. Her eyes gained a cold glaze of focus, and what she did over the next few minutes were done in what felt like a lucid state. A USB drive was entered into the console, and the file was copied and transferred over to the disk. Syre opened the security settings of the file on the console, and replaced it with a 30-long character string of garbled nonsense, before re-saving and closing the file. The desktop was put exactly in the condition where she found it, the chair was moved back into place...
... And with a portal, Syre would step out right between Sixer and Silence, the portal swiftly closing behind her. Wordlessly, Syre handed the USB drive to Silence.
"... Take us home, Silence. Dad needs to know. Right now."

The sheer amount of files and what they had within them made it all the more likely that this place would be a ghost town if someone found out about her activity here. Given the information that she gleamed from all of this… There was a real danger to her siblings; not just the youngest but holly too. The fact that siris’ wasn’t mentioned was likely due to his simple tendency to ghost for long periods of time.
With them being active in snowpoint; the times where people vanished after avalanches probably seemed a little more serious. But that also begged the question of where could a lab even be or a ‘collection’ point could even be? It’d take a few solid minutes of silence; the usb being loaded with the stuff from the console… and then the security settings now basically inoperable? Well…
Given his knack for technology; that password might be barely a blip on the radar if orion was the one using this area. If not? Well… it would be locked for quite some time!
Sixer and silence were still staring at the building when syre appeared; startling the both of them. Silence raised her brow a bit at being given the usb, but she’d store it into her infinity storage and promptly pull her portal out. Whisking the three back home without a single word.
Sixer would glance around after stepping through the portal; it was still late at night and she’d turn to motion for the other two to follow through. Silence only entering once syre did and they would quickly be inside of their home. Nothing seemingly going on around them. But it seemed like it wasn’t all quiet at their home. Coal was awake and looking over some books; maybe she was having a rough time sleeping or… maybe due to her naps she was struggling to keep a proper sleep schedule.
”oh! I didn’t know you guys would be back so soon! Hi Sis! Sixer! Ma~ Do you guys want some coffee? You all look really stressed for some reason.”
Coal tilted her head a little bit; she didn’t seem to know what was going on and wasn’t about to question it. Even if her curiosity prompted her to flick her eyes from one individual to the next….

Wait, what was Coal doing up?
Hearing the surprisingly chipper voice of the BlackRenamon-X, Syre quickly mellowed out from a reactive stance to a more serious one. Right now, thoughts were racing in her head - what if someone had caught wind of Syre at the studio? Would they hasten their efforts here, and perhaps try and take one of the foxes as a hostage... or was Syre perhaps being too paranoid?
What was the right thing to do, here? "... You really know you shouldn't be up, sis? I don't really have time to explain - wake up your sister, and go sit in the den, alright? Play some chess, talk, or something. Alright?"
Syre would apologize to dad for that later. For now, the feline would give a knock at dad's office door, and would nod for Silence and Sixer to follow her inside. "..."
... That was a tough pill to swallow. With the USB plugged into his D-Terminal, Dr. Mikemon listened carefully to everything that Syre had figured out. Not only were the studios involved, but this evidence showed that it was more than a past occurrence. Amber and Coal didn't even exist at the time of the raid, but now they were on a target list? Mikemon looked over to Silence: "I've heard what I need to. Watch the kids for me - make sure they go to bed, and watch them carefully. If they're going to make a move on them, its going to be tonight."
