Kanae had taken off running. He had stopped to tie his shoelaces, so she took the opportunity to escape. As she made her way through the crowds, slipping through as much as ten-year-old body could allow, she realized she didn't have a plan. It's not like she could hide out at a friend's place. That would require having friends other than him. She didn't have any money on her, and someone was bound to question what a little girl was doing all on her own eventually.
But that was all stuff she could worry about later! None of that stuff mattered if she couldn't get away from him! So she squirmed her way through as many people as she could, until eventually the crowds had died out and she was left out in the open. That wouldn't do. Eventually, he would find her. So she ran down a set of stairs she had never seen before, skipping down them two steps at a time. She ran past a sign, completely ignoring the fact that it was written in some bizarre language she couldn't comprehend and towards a single train she had no idea where it went.
But it was better than nothing. Without hesitation she leapt through the open doorway and into the nearest cart of the admittedly unusual-looking train. And at that point, she stopped to take a breath. She had drawn the attention of all the other passengers who stared at her as she made her entrance, yet one-by-one their gazes shifted away due to disinterest. But Kanae was just glad that she had finally gotten away from...
And as if life decided to betray her, another figure nearly flew into the train car and grabbed Kanae's forearm in a painful squeeze that offered no pity or remorse. A boy near Kanae's age stood in front of her, his dark brown eyes narrowing as he shot her a look full of all kinds of unpleasantness. She looked down to see one shoe missing. She looked up to see the boy's perpetual scowl looking a little more fierce than normal. And the boy didn't even seem out of breath, either. Smug jerk.
"Yu-chan... Let go of my arm!" She demanded in a soft tone. He visibly winced at the mention of his name and gripped tightened even further. "You're hurting me!"
"I'm taking you home, Asumi-san," He answered coldly, pulling on the girl's arm to drag her out of the train cart. Try as she might, Kanae couldn't break free from the boy's grasp as he began to lead her, and ran straight into the door as it closed up. The shock was enough for Kanae to slip out of his grasp and burst out laughing as the boy rubbed his aching forehead.
"It's too late, dummy!" She mocked the boy while briefly sticking her tongue out at him. "The train's already taken off!"
For whatever reason this seemed to set the boy off as he grabbed Kanae once again, spun around and threw her back against the door, pressing his arm against her torso. It didn't hurt all that much, but the sudden movement stunned the girl too much to respond. "You..." He began, all the anger and vitriol he had bubbling up within him slowly seeping out like a volcano ready to erupt. But she seemed to calm himself down enough to take a breath and say. "You owe me a new shoe. Or else I'll put my other one up your ass!"
But once Kanae had regained her senses, she didn't focus them on the boy's threat. For as if on cue, many other passengers forms began to just... change. Changing into... creatures... of all shapes and sizes.
Yu-chan didn't seem to notice it yet, but Kanae realized that she had most definitely gotten on the wrong train to freedom. TWC: 644

There was an old song that Omen had enjoyed listening to during her time in the Human world. It went on about how it had been a hard day's night, and for one that had been worked akin to a dog, getting home to their person was what made it all worth it.
...
Okay, Omen didn't really have anything comparable to what the Beatles had, or what the people in that song did, but she really did like that song. Enough that she was humming it while entering the train car...and not quite noticing the two siblings enter one by one into the train car. One was not happy. The other was trying to escape. The holosuited Digimon could only stare, not sure how to intervene here if any way existed...
Of course, Omen -did- hear the boy's threat. Yes, she was certain they were siblings. As Digimon began dispelling their holosuits, she would do the same, revealing her armless form of Wispmon as she hopped down from her seat, and took a few slow steps towards the two.
"None of that." She stated. "Or I'll put the shoe up yours." No idea what the hell was going on but this was an ORDERLY train ride, not fight club!

Kanae was already freaked out by the various creatures around her, and when one of the creatures approached them she nearly screamed in horror. And yet, the creature told Yuichi to stop. Which finally got the boy's attention. He turned his head towards the armless creature, letting go of Kanae when he took notice of his surroundings. He tensed up for a second, then reached into his bookbag where he collected a bunch of sharp and pointy objects because he was a creep.
"D-don't tell me what to do, monster!" He managed to sputter out, pulling out rock that look like it had been sharpened with a stick tied to it. He let the creature see it for a second before putting his hand back into the bag. "Th-this doesn't concern you, or any of you other freaks, so d-don't get any c-closer to us or else I'm g-gonna kill you all!"
But while Kanae was more than shocked by the creature's appearance, she saw an opportunity. "Please, you have to help me!" She cried out, slipping past Yuichi and running to the strange creature. It could speak, so it would be intelligent enough to help her, right? "This boy is bothering me! He's my..." Kanae resisted the compulsion to throw up in her mouth. "He's my... boyfriend and he's been bothering me ever since we separated! He... um... lost his shoe in the divorce, and has been following and threatening me ever since!"
Admittedly, she probably could have just told the truth, but she didn't really want to talk about her situation with this bizarre creature. TWC: 910

Omen tilted her head as Kanae swiftly got behind her right as Yuichi started amassing a collection of sharp objects. Was that a quantifier as to how edgy one was? How odd, especially for humans. By and far the edgiest of the species that Omen had met. Of course, having heard his voice, Omen had the best way to mess with him already.
With the weird story being even more reason to. Why did Omen believe that? Well, she may have been Mae's daughter, but she didn't necessarily inherit Mae's smarts. Er...All of them.
"dOn'T TeLl mE wHaT tO Do MoNStER, tHiS dOesN'T cOnCeRN yOU!" Omen repeated in a startingly accurate rendition of Yuichi's voice. She shook her head. "Given it's happening on our train, while most of us just want to go home...I think it's at least a -little- bit our business." The armless Wispmon leaned forward a bit. "Besides, you're an awful boyfriend. Doing that over a -shoe.-"
That was probably the most hurtful thing that this creature had ever said.

Yuichi's jaw dropped as Omen spoke using his voice, and Kanae let out a short shriek of surprise but quickly managed to stifle it.
"S-so what if you can copy my voice?" Yuichi managed to reply after he seemingly regained control. "That just makes you even more of a freak! And we're on a train, you dumb armless monster! It's gonna keep moving no matter what happens!"
Yuichi shook his head quickly after speaking. "And she's lying to you! There's no way in hell that I would ever date such an unsexy, spoiled brat like her! It's my job to look after her, and she's trying to get me in trouble by running away!"
"That's not true!" Kanae protested angrily, her voice getting louder in outrage. She didn't expect Yuichi to talk things out. She was kind of hoping Yuichi would fly off the handle, attack someone, and then get thrown off the train. "I'm not a liar! You're lying right now, stupid Yu-chan!"
"Stop calling me Yu-chan!" Yuichi shot back. "You're the one lying, bitch! So just give up and let me take you home so I can go home and not have to see your ugly face for the rest of the day!"
"I don't want to go with you!" Kanae replied angrily. "You're mean and a bully! I don't want anything to do with you so leave me alone forever!"
The two's voice kept getting louder and louder with Omen caught in the middle. And not that Kanae noticed at all, but a cursory glance would see that the other passengers were losing their patience as well. TWC: 1180

"In a sea of those unlike you, it is you who is the freak, freak." Omen replied, once more taking upon a facsimile of Yuichi's voice. Quite honestly? She had only known both of these humans for seconds at most, maybe minutes, but the sheer...dislike that the boy held for this girl was a bit revolting.
"...Why do you hate each other, though?" Omen found herself asking out loud, especially since the volume of these humans was growing louder by the second. And she was progressively growing more irritated at this, even if the human she came to the defense of seemed like a nice girl caught in...
...
Whatever this was. "A-And also, take a look around you!" Hopefully the two could note the GROWING IRRITATION amongst the rest of the passengers. Before they actually went and pissed someone off that wasn't an armless rookie.
Otherwise, Omen would definitely try to stay between Kanae and Yuichi. She had no idea what the deal here was, but if she was going to be met with...this? She'd deal it right back if need be.

"You're the one who's a freak, freak! I'm a human, not a monster like you!" Yuichi yelled back. "Go crawl underneath some kid's bed or something! You shouldn't be walking around in public!"
"Stop yelling at the nice monster!" Kanae yelled back just as loudly. "You don't have to yell at everything you think is scary, stupid Yu-chan!"
"I told you not to call me that, bitch!" Yuichi screamed out. "I'm gonna beat you to a bloody pulp, as well as anyone that stands in between us!" He pointed towards the armless Digimon. "Got it?"
Omen had then asked them a rather simple question, one that made Kanae pause for a second. Yuichi was a mean bully. She didn't necessarily hate him, though. She only started to think differently about him ever since she found out about...
Naturally Yuichi broke the silence as well as Kanae's thoughts. "I told you that it's none of your business! So get out of the way, stop this damned train so I can drag this spoiled little brat back home!"
With the armless creature's suggestion, Kanae took a look around to see a series of annoyed faces from all kinds of creatures. Wolves, robots, lizards, and... was that a freaking dinosaur!? And yet they all seemed to have some sort of pressure building up in their faces. Probably due to a pair of screaming children.
"Hey, Yu-ch... Yuichi... We should probably tone it down a bit..." Kanae offered as gently as she could. She knelt down and clenched the armless creature's hood as she did so. She had to say it, but trying to order Yuichi around would likely...
"Oh, so when I tell you to make the entirely reasonable request of NOT running away from me so I can protect you act out and run off. But now YOU want to order ME around!?" Yuichi shot back, clearly not paying any mind to the passengers, or possibly not caring in the least.
But it looked like Yuichi was finally gonna get one of his wishes, as they could feel the train coming to a stop. And as it did, a dinosaur creature, a big, red t-rex-looking motherfucker, stepped up to the group with heavy footsteps and bloodshot eyes.
"This is your stop," He growled angrily through sharp teeth in a tone that left no room for arguing. "Get out, all of you." TWC: 1579

"Awfully deep voice for someone with no balls! Gonna try beating me up in front of all these people, then go right ahead, jackass." This had evolved into a screaming match and...Omen didn't like that. She honestly was hoping that they'd just be quiet but that was evidently not gonna happen anytime soon now, was it?
She was also not moving from in front of Kanae anytime soon, either, especially with her precious hood being tugged on. "She said to knock it off...!" Omen started as the saurian entity who at present lacked any identifier other than the fact he was large, in charge, and a motherfucker, stomped over and pretty much kicked them off of the now stopping train.
"I-I'm sorry, sir, I didn't...I didn't intend for things to escalate, but..." She trailed off.
...
Why was she apologizing?
While Omen -would- obey what she was told eventually, there was no way she was going to let Yuichi have a direct path to Kanae. Not after all the shit that was just said. So, her exit from the train was regrettably gonna be a slow one.

Kanae had exited the train with Omen, taking special care to avoid Yuichi, and more importantly, avoid looking at the tyrannosaurus monster. The little boy had turned to face the creature, and after taking an involuntary step away from the saurian beast, he grimaced towards it and yelled. "Yeah, well, you don't get to tell me what to do, so mind your own business and... and..." Before he could even finish talking the Tyrannomon simply took a heavy step towards the boy, grabbed him with a short but strong arm, and unceremoniously chucked him out the door, sending him flying into a field of grass. Yuichi let out a shriek as the saurian sent him soaring, letting out a yelp of pain as he crashed and tumbled into the grasslands beyond. After rolling through the grass for a bit, he tumbled to a stop and lay there completely unmoving. Meanwhile, the red dino let out a sigh. "I swear if this makes me late for another dentist's appointment I'm gonna be so miffed..." He muttered as the doors closed, and the residents of the train cabin let out a chorus of cheers before the Trailmon took off once more.
Kanae could only look on in stunned silence as this happened. Yu-chan got what was coming to him, so she didn't feel too bad, though she should probably go check on him. Just because he was a mean bully that sometimes hurt her a little didn't mean that she wanted him to get hurt really bad. But now that things seemed to come to a halt, things began to seem out of place.
"Um... This doesn't look like Shibuya anymore..." Kanae muttered out loud, looking over towards the red-riding-hood creature. "So... thank you for coming to help me, um..." Kanae had never introduced herself. "I'm Kanae. Asumi Kanae. What is your name, and um..." She fidgeted around for a bit, unsure of a polite way to ask the next part. "What exactly are you?" WC: 1912

Okay, so far so good. Girl was safe. Boy was busy pissing off Chad the Tyrannomon. Thusly, did Omen watch the boy soar out the door of the train as the crowd erupted into a raucous applause. "I give such a landing a two out of ten. Nice job, clown." She nodnodded at Yuichi as he made contact with the ground and rolled in the grass.
She turned around to face Kanae. Indeed, most Digimon would be confused at her questions, but Omen was not most Digimon, for Omen had three entire brain cells with which to think and process things. "Well. My name's Omen. This is indeed not Shibuya. I'm a Digital Monster. Not a literal monster, just...a computer one. I do not know how else to say this, but the train took us both to another world. Also, your friend came along too, I guess. Chad Thundersaur really got him good. But I also think he had it coming." A pause.
"...You probably really don't wanna be here right now, do you?"

Kanae glanced over towards Yuichi, still laying there in the grass. It was clear that he wasn't going to be moving anytime soon. Kanae was tempted to leave him there, but there was a small part of her that felt sorry for the boy after such a humiliating moment, perfectly deserved or otherwise.
But as Kanae kept listening to Omen, as she learned, her stomach began to tie in knots. For what her description mattered, it was watered down enough that the girl could understand it for the most part. Maybe it was due to her age, or simply because she wanted to believe that there was more to the world than her pathetically sheltered life, but Kanae found herself believing the little gremlin. Plus, the fact that a talking T-rex monster casually tossed her childhood friend-turned reluctant bodyguard helped solidify the matter.
"So we're... inside the computer world, but we came from a train in the human world..." She stated once Omen finished her explanation. It didn't make any sense at all, except for the fact that it actually happened. Kanae couldn't exactly deny it at this point. She wanted to pinch herself to make sure that she wasn't dreaming. Maybe Yu-chan hit her in the head a little too hard and she was just fantasizing about the boy getting his comeuppance?
Probably not, considering most days her fantasies involving Yu-chan and trains were a little more standard. So she was in another world! Wonderful!
"Then if I got here by a train, that means I can go back using a train, right?" She asked the little hooded creature. Kanae may have been young, but she sure wasn't an idiot. Even so... "Actually... I don't think I want to go back. I ran away from my home because I found out that my papa is a very scary person, and he does very bad things to people. I didn't want to live with a man like that, so I wanted to take the nearest train to literally anywhere but home!"
She wasn't sure why she was telling this foreign creature all of this. She wasn't even sure if Omen could even understand her, after all. "But... I guess I could have thought this through a little more... I don't have anywhere to sleep for the night, and I didn't bring anything to eat..." And roaming about in a world full of monsters didn't exactly sound appealing to her. She looked over towards the little Digimon. Welp, it was worth a shot in the dark. "Hey, Omen-chan, do you think I could crash at your place for just a little bit?"
She wondered what the little creature thought of her request. Did these Digital Monsters even have homes? Did Omen have one, specifically? WC: 2375

This was the first time Omen had dealt with someone being new around here, and she always figured that most did not really want to be here. It was understandable, there were many fictitious and horrific beings within this world. "Um...Basically." She nodded a few times. Why was it so surprising that someone that looked like her guise's age was...willing to believe her?
Sure. Omen had been telling the truth. Sure. Kanae did witness Chad Thundersaur, the Tyrannomon, unceremoniously yeet Yuichi out of a train. "Yes, that's how I usually go to your world. Via train. I hear you can buy portals, though. Gotta look into that..." Omen would trail off, before both eyes widened (and brightened!) in surprise.
"You...don't?" That was...
That's probably what surprised her the most. That this human would want to stay here to stay away from her father. Who was apparently vile. "Oh...food's not difficult to come by. But...um. I don't have a home." She stated. Flat out. "I just sleep wherever. It's really easy when you're me, but you're not...I mean, I might know someone but...Mmm."
She couldn't leave Kanae alone here. Not with someone as...volatile as Yuichi. Omen wouldn't be able to forgive herself for that. "...Where..." Where even WERE they? There was grass but she had no idea where the Trailmon had stopped. Felt like they were in that small bit between the Mainframe Hills and the Server Woods...
Which meant that Rosewood could be nearby. "Okay, there should be a town in those woods over there. I know this is going to sound scary, but...do you want to come with me there? I don't have a home or anything but I know for sure it's a safe place. And I don't want to leave you alone, either."

"Trains... and portals..." Kanae kept note of this as Omen explained it. It didn't really mean anything to her at this point in time, but if she was going to try to stay in this strange land she figured she should learn as many random facts as she could. Then maybe she could eventually put them together into something she could understand later down the line. Right now she was lost, confused, and just a tad bit scared that a giant red dinosaur monster was gonna scoop her up and throw her a gajillion meters away just like with what happened to Yuichi.
And much to her dismay, little Omen didn't have a home to go to. But she was a fairly little creature in this world with trains full of T-Rexes and other monsters of all shapes and sizes. How did such a little creature survive all on her own?
And was it possible for Kanae to do the same?
But apparently Omen had a plan, despite definitely having to leave the train prematurely due to Yuichi and herself. Chances were Omen wasn't exactly planning on guiding a little girl through the woods to get her to a safe place. She felt a little guilty about that, even though she technically didn't do anything wrong, and the little Digital Monster got herself involved in the whole ordeal. And if she refused Omen's help, then that meant that all that she did would have been all for nothing.
So when Omen asked if she wanted to come along with her to a nearby town, Kanae nodded, although hesitantly. Because judging for the few minutes that they had shared, Omen wasn't going to like what she was going to say next. "I'd love to go with you, but..." She turned over towards Yuichi, who was beginning to stir in the grass, letting out a weak moan as he did so. "I can't leave him all alone, though... is there any chance that he can come with us?"
She held her hands together, nervously fidgeting around with her fingers as she tried to find the proper words. "Yu-chan's mean and a bully, but even though he's like that, he used to be my friend, so I'll feel bad if we leave him alone in a place full of monsters. They'll probably hurt him even worse than that dinosaur creature did, and even though he'll probably deserve it... I don't want that to happen to him..." If Omen didn't agree, Kanae wasn't sure what she would do, honestly. If it meant being stuck in a world she didn't know anything about, she wasn't sure she liked the idea of being all alone with Yuichi. She knew that if their roles were reversed, Yu-chan wouldn't abandon her, even though he made it perfectly clear that he hated Kanae's guts. So abandoning Yuichi would make Kanae feel like she was even lower than the boy, something that would make the little girl sick to her stomach.

Where did that plan come from? Omen wasn't sure, a part of her just...started thinking and spat that out. Did she have the will to go through with it, though? Or was she just some idiot who thought she was better?
The time to find out was approaching. Sure. She did not plan to do this today. But simply because it was unforeseen does not make it bad. Omen would never forgive herself if she left someone here alone in the Digital World with no protection.
That and...she felt like someone would be disappointed if she did.
Upon hearing Kanae's question, she resisted the urge to yell "Fuck no." That was a bad thing. No. She didn't want to do that even after she threatened to assault someone with their own shoe.
Hear her out.
"...What kind of friend calls their friend mean things like that?" Omen asked, finally. "Why do you think he deserves help after all of that? I don't...I don't understand. He's...I don't know why but he seems to hate you. Why do you want to keep putting up with that?" A pause.
"I'm not saying no, but. I...I want to know why. Beyond the obvious. We'll get him to safety, sure, but I want to make sure I'm not potentially inviting more...shitfuckery from a clown that survived Chad Thundersaur."
Holy shit, that was a particularly nasty word, even for Omen.

Omen hadn't outright dismissed Kanae's request, and she wasn't sure how she felt about that. If Omen had refused, Kanae thought that she might have had it in her to ditch Yu-chan. It was the whole point of her running away in the first place, after all. But Omen had asked Kanae why she was willing to put up with Yu-chan's attitude and outbursts. And... Kanae didn't really know too well, herself. Truth be told, introspection wasn't really her strongest aspect. As such, she fidgeted around with her fingers as she came up with the words.
"It's kind of hard to say, but... we used to be friends, but I learned that we weren't really friends and..." She let out a sigh. Yep. Some complicated feelings bunched up in there. "Papa... my father... is a really powerful person, but I recently found out that he was also did some really bad things... and having Yu-chan be my friend was one of them. So Yu-chan doesn't like me very much, but is forced to be with me all the time, anyways. And Yu-chan's father hurts him if he doesn't do what he's told, and..." She stopped to take a breath.
Yu-chan didn't like Kanae, so it wasn't like he ever brought up his problems. In fact, it was Kanae that did most of the talking in their false friendship. Yu-chan was just always being dragged around no matter where she went. But even though Yu-chan kept to himself, she had seen the bruises here and there.
And recently, as Kanae started to rebel just a little more, Yuichi had to be the one to suffer the consequences for Kanae's actions. She... didn't really like Yuichi that much. But even though he was really, really mean, she supposed that she... pitied him, or perhaps felt a little guilty deep down.
"I'm sorry... I know that it's really hard to understand... I don't know how to explain it very good..."
She saw movement out of the corner of her eye as Yuichi began to stir and come back into the world of the conscious. He looked around, clearly confused by his surroundings and turned his gaze towards Omen and Kanae. "Wh-where the hell is this place!?"
