Living in the Digital World was... Certainly a strange experience, safe to say.
In a world inhabited by digimon - who naturally came in varieties of shapes and sizes, including more humanlike appearances - Andrei both felt like the black sheep in a herd of other black sheep, and like the odd one out, all at the same time. Certainly, it was safe to say that meeting other humans was uncommon - and most of those he did meet didn't speak English like himself - yet whenever he looked at a digimon with a humanlike face...
... Sometimes, if he convinced himself hard enough they were just another human, too, he couldn't help but believe it just enough to find some comfort in it. That he wasn't the odd one out, in this strange world that he was still adjusting to, and that there were others like him - even if it wasn't exactly true in the case of these digimon - in this crazy world. It didn't give much relief to his homesickness, though; each passing day being another one where he'd remember that he was quite far from home. And with each passing day, he couldn't help but wonder what it would take to actually go home.
Having friends in other coworkers at the spa, though, was nice. One friend in particular - an Alraumon by the name of Fiona - was perhaps the one he was closest to out of his coworkers; partially due to the fact of her patient and easygoing personality oftentimes being a balm to Andrei's own anxiety. Oftentimes, she is also the one to accompany Andrei whenever he'd head out into the city - given that Andrei didn't have a digimon partner, he was otherwise defenseless if another digimon decided to give him trouble...
"Well aren't ya a pretty lil flower, hmm?"
... Like now, it seemed.
It had been Fiona's idea to take a shortcut through an alleyway - something that should've been quick and easy, for them to get back to the spa on time to return from lunch break. However, in passing through this rather shady-looking area, they had ended up drawing the attention of a larger digimon - a Flarizamon, who was now eyeing Fiona intently.
The smaller Alraumon would return the gaze with some discomfort, though she'd keep walking - holding Andrei's hand all the while. "I... I'm flattered, thank you; but we don't exactly have time to stick around and chat.." She'd respond, picking up the pace in hopes of getting out of the area before the fiery lizard got any ideas. Much like Fiona, Andrei was discomforted - casting a wary glance towards him briefly, before attempting to pick his pace up as well.
"That's a Champion, aint it...?" Andrei would softly whisper to Fiona all the while - to which the Alraumon nodded shakily, much to his worry. Crud... Andrei didn't exactly like the odds of a plant-based Rookie, against a fire-based Champion; and with how much he'd grown to know about digimon, he was pretty sure that he had zero chances against a Champion digimon, himself...
