Such a Beautiful Day (Andrei and Mimi)

"Hm, I suppose that is accurate," Hawkeye stated in response to Andrei's muse about having bad luck on his end. He then mentioned that if it didn't happen, he wouldn't have met others like Mimi, or even Kaya and Hawkeye themselves. "Ah, you're a positive thinker as well. If only you and Kaya could speak the same language, then you two would be instant friends."
"I need to start taking English classes in school," Kaya admitted. "Maybe when the next school year starts!"
Andrei and Mimi each had different reactions to Kaya's recollection of the Dark Spire event. Andrei thought it was indeed very scary (at least Hawkeye understood that from him,) but Mimi countered with that there were a lot of "goody-two-shoes" out there to stop things like that from getting out of hand. "That's what Hawkeye and I want to do, be there so we can stop bad Digimon like that. That's why we were talking about joining the Knights of the Rose, if they ever get back to me. Have you heard of them? Actually you probably haven't, nevermind."
Unfortunately, neither Andrei nor Mimi had seen or heard of a RedMagnamon before, which was definitely a disappointing but not unexpected thing to hear. Mimi then asked why they were looking for a RedMagnamon in the first place. Kaya looked at Hawkeye, as if requesting his permission to speak. Hawkeye didn't respond, just closing his eyes as he finished up the last of his food. Kaya decided to just place it safe with her answer. "There was a RedMagnamon that hurt us in the past. We're looking for him to... well..."
"It's revenge, pure and simple." Hawkeye looked at Andrei right in the eyes, the bird's own eyes growing thinner. "And I don't want to hear anything about how revenge isn't the answer, so save it."

"Yeah; I figure that there's no use in lamenting over my bad luck forever. It's healthier and easier to just try and see the silver lining in things, and make the most of what you got." Andrei would agree with a chuckle, nodding briefly "Just from what I've heard from you and Mimi translating for us, Kaya definitely sounds like a pleasant girl. You both have been great to talk to, really; today's been super nice."
Before long though, Kaya would mention the Knights of the Rose, and the duo's desires to join them - though when she mentioned that Andrei and Mimi probably hadn't heard of them, Mimi would sigh heavily. "Yes, yes, I've heard of the knights or whatever." She'd respond rather dismissively, rolling her eyes. "Vander Tower might be hard to spot, but it ain't any big secret to those in Rosewood; and I've already heard enough of someone being crazy enough to drop a meteor of all fuckin' things in the Dark Area or whatever."
(Granted, Mimi lacked the details as to why that meteor had been dropped, but she typically didn't care enough about these more lawful-sounding types to care. Especially given that her more recent memories in her past life were still a little hazy, at that.)
Andrei, though, would speak up next - mentioning a bit sheepishly "I've heard bits and pieces of the group. I do admit that I don't know a lot about them, myself, though." The 'nevermind' had, honestly, felt a bit dismissive - much like how Mimi's own response had been a bit dismissive. He wouldn't say anything, though; simply continuing to smile in the others' directions.
Before long though, was the subject of the RedMagnamon; to which Andrei and Mimi both would listen quietly, as Kaya and Hawkeye both explained the basic gist of what their deal with this other digimon was. Andrei couldn't help a slight flinch at the glare, clearly not about to argue against Hawkeye when given a look like that; Mimi, however, had some thoughts on the matter.
"I ain't gonna tell you to not bash this guy's face in if he's wronged y'all; what goes around comes around, and it's his fault he thought he could get away with fucking with others." Mimi would begin, gesturing with a claw a bit. "But aren't most Magnamon Mega-stage and whatnot?" She'd soon continue - pointing out "If Ultimate's as high as you two can go, and if this RedMagnamon is a Mega - or, Homeostasis forbid, a Super Mega - then seeking a fight with the guy is just fuckin' suicidal. Keep tabs on the guy if you gotta - your methods ain't any of my business - but maybe you oughta bulk up before you start looking to throw hands with 'em."

Make the most of what you got... no use lamenting over... see the silver lining... These words echoed over and over in Hawkeye's head. Hawkeye went against these concepts almost every single day. He was always lamenting over his past, and he rarely saw the silver lining in anything. This made Hawkeye start to think... was he always destined to just constantly mourn over Eizo?
He was pulled from his thoughts when Andrei complimented Kaya, calling her pleasant. Hawkeye smiled as he translated that for Kaya, who in turn began to blush in response. "You are very much correct on that one, Andrei."
Going against what was expected, Mimi actually did know something about the Knights. She even heard how one of them was crazy enough to drop a huge meteor into the Dark Area. Now this was news to Kaya and Hawkeye. "A meteor...!"
"Imagining sparring against someone with that level of power..." Dropping a meteor onto the Dark Area... the story behind something like that must have been intense! Hawkeye could only dream about having power like that. Imagining how strong he could get if they joined the Knights, and he trained with warriors like that...
When they explained their motives to Andrei and Mimi, the latter did bring up a good point. A RedMagnamon would most likely be a Mega level, if not an Ultra level. She suggested training more before taking on something like that. "That's part of the reason why we thought joining the Knights would be a good idea, actually. We know that we'd have to fight RedMagnamon when we find him."
"But with how long it's taken to find him, we'll surely get there long before we find him. We've been asking about his whereabouts for months and we still have no leads. It's as if he disappeared off the face of the Digital World!"

Briefly, it seemed as though Hawkeye had drifted off into his own thoughts; something that - though Andrei would miss it - Mimi couldn't help but notice, eyeing the bird digimon for a moment. Before she could comment on it though, Hawkeye would come back to reality both to translate for Andrei, and to agree on Kaya being pleasant; to which Andrei smiled warmly, and nodded in response.
The subject of a meteor certainly came as a surprise to Kaya and Hawkeye though, and Andrei was no different in that regard - and in response to the duo's comments on the matter, the ModokiBetamon-X would nod. "Don't got the details on how or why that whole mess happened; but it was something that I think a lotta people down in the Dark Area heard and felt for miles, and it sure had them talking for fucking miles, too." She'd remark, adding "I figure if you two really want to know more though, it shouldn't be that hard to ask the Knights yourselves about what the hell had happened for a meteor to get involved. If they were the cause, then surely they'd know what went down down there."
"I wonder if there's any sort of crash site, from the meteor striking..." Andrei would muse in a bit of curiosity, wondering how large it had to be to have drawn that much attention. With how big and powerful some digimon could get, he was sure some parts of the world had their scars from the fights between higher-level digimon.
As far as the discussion about the RedMagnamon went though, Mimi would make a 'tch' at the fact that the RedMagnamon had - seemingly - disappeared from the world entirely. "Could be someone got to him first, could be that he realizes he's got enemies and is laying low, could even be that he's waltzing about in Rookie Stage not even knowing people are pissed off at him." Mimi would comment, crossing her limbs a bit. "If you're having trouble finding the bastard though, usually there's digimon in shady spots willing to offer some answers, in return for money or information."
"Dunno if hoity-toity Knights would really be interested in aiding your own revenge mission, though; unless you're looking to just train with them. They strike me as too prissy and 'noble' to have any interest in the concept of revenge."
Andrei, though, couldn't help a somewhat disconcerted expression at all of this talk about 'revenge'... It was obvious that Hawkeye wasn't looking to be told that revenge probably wasn't the way, or that maybe it was worth taking it easy - even if only for a bit - but... If he had to be honest, this line of conversation wasn't exactly pleasant. And it didn't help the fact that Mimi was encouraging this whole mess!
Fidgeting a little, Andrei would nibble a bit on a piece of Takoyaki, finding the grassy rolling hills a more comforting sight than a revenge-hungry Hawkeye.

While Mimi did not know the details of how or why a goddamn METEOR was launched onto the Dark Area, she suggested that Kaya and Hawkeye ask the Knights of the Rose themselves about the event. Hearing something like that, how could you be not curious about the events that led up to such a thing? "Maybe there was a super powerful Digimon in the Dark Area that needed to be stopped, and only a meteor could do just that? There are powerful Digimon out there."
"And I'd be genuinely surprised if there wasn't a crash site afterwards," Hawkeye commented. While he never faced such a powerful Digimon before, aside from a BurningGreymon, Hawkeye knew that they were out there, and could destroy an entire city with one flick of the wrist if they really wanted to.
Speaking of powerful Digimon, RedMagnamon was discussed yet again, with Mimi suggesting a few possibilities such as that he either knew he had enemies or he's walking around in Rookie form not knowing that he angered anyone in the past. Hawkeye scoffed at that last part. "I don't see how a Digimon as powerful as RedMagnamon would want to be in Rookie form. Most unpartnered Digimon can sustain their higher forms for as long as they want, which to most is usually all the time." Mimi followed that up with mentioning that there were shady Digimon out there willing to offer answers in exchange for money or information. "Shady as in 'they live in the Dark Area'? I promised myself I would never go there, especially now that I am partnered with Kaya."
"And we're not just joining them for our own mission," Kaya said. "We... I... want to make a difference in the Digital World. Everyone always looks down on me because... well, I'm thirteen and apparently that means I'm supposed to be incredibly naive and not know about anything about the world or how it works. I want to prove them wrong, that I can be a valuable member of a team, a hero, and not just some kid that's in the way all the time. I figured that literally becoming a Knight would... well, it would help me, y'know?"
Kaya would notice Andrei's uncomfortability while Hawkeye was discussing revenge. It would make sense, Andrei didn't know the extent of the trauma that RedMagnamon caused for the avian Digimon so it would seem over the top for him, in fact it probably was indeed over the top. Kaya took a sip of her bottled drink and scooted over to Andrei before leaning over to whisper something to him, something that Hawkeye and Mimi wouldn't hear.
"Hawkeye... lose... friend," Kaya would attempt to whisper in English. "Lose friend... RedMagnamon."

"I mean, I sure as hell hope that was the reason, and not just because whoever threw down that meteor was just doing it for shits and giggles for all we know." Mimi responded to Kaya's remark, making a brief sigh. If there was a digimon out there with the strength to just casually bring down meteors like it's any other Tuesday though, that'd certainly be a terrifying thought. "Like I said though, I ain't got the exact details. Whatever reason there may be - and a powerful digimon is definitely one hell of a reason to nuke from orbit - there was a wholeass meteor involved, and that's all I know for sure."
"Scary to think about just how powerful a digimon can get, at those later stages..." Andrei would murmur with a sigh, scratching the back of his head a little. What was Mimi going to be like, as far as destructive power goes, if she ever reaches Mega or Super Mega...?
As Hawkeye commented on why a digimon as powerful as RedMagnamon would walk around in Rookie form though, Mimi would be quick to explain. "Keeping a low profile. Think of it this way; do you think you'd turn more heads as a Hawkmon like you are now, or would you be drawing more attention to yourself as a Garudamon?" She'd ask rhetorically, continuing "And if this RedMagnamon is one for making enemies, well... No better way to stay under their radar, than to avoid taking the form you're known for."
"And even all that aside; if you waltz around town in Mega form or - Homeostasis forbid - Super Mega form without good reason, digimon are going to think you're either looking for trouble, or that you are the trouble."
And as far as 'shady digimon' went, Mimi would shake her head. "I mean, you definitely have no shortage of shady folks in the Dark Area; but I meant your typical back alley information brokers. You can usually find them in any sizeable town or city; I imagine even Luminas probably has its share of shady folk hiding around someplace." Though now that Mimi thought about it, would these two even know the first thing about those sorts of dealings?
... Eh. They'd probably figure it out sooner or later, if they go that route.
Nonetheless, as Kaya expressed her intentions for wanting to join the Knights of the Rose, Andrei couldn't help a warm smile, reaching over to pat her on the shoulder in an encouraging fashion. This, at least, was a far more comfortable subject than talks of revenge. "I think I getcha. You're just trying to spread your wings and fly a bit, yeah?" He'd question rhetorically, before continuing "I think that getting some experience alongside these Knights would do you some good, for sure."
Although, that being said... "... Don't make yourself feel like you have to rush in growing up, either, though." He would soon add, a softer look crossing his expression. "You're definitely not just 'some kid', but you are still young, and you're still developing - especially up here." Briefly, Andrei would pause to tap at his head. "Rushing yourself will do more harm than good in the long run, while you're still growing. Pace yourself, alright?"
With the mentions of just what had Hawkeye so upset though, Andrei would frown softly, before quietly nodding in understanding to Kaya. Hawkeye must've had quite the close friend, for him to be this hellbent on revenge...
