Commandramon was in the HQ's garage, from which it could deploy vehicles as needed, from bogus police cruisers to get somewhere fast to disguised vans to get somewhere discreetly. The reason he was there was not to go for a joyride, however. That was obvious from the fact that in one hand he held a stopwatch that he was glaring at, and in neither hand was he holding a vehicle key. Occasionally he was glancing up his subordinates assembled in front of him - not all of them, though they were growing up number quickly. This was the point: he was in the middle of drilling their readiness and response times to keep them sharp and ready to roll at a moment's notice, sort of like firemen drilling their own times for suiting up and rolling out.
When they were all at attention in front of the captain, he stopped the watch. He wouldn't tell them their time, but he did not and approve, "Better. Dismissed."
"Finally!" Dakota was, only one of two who felt secure enough to give a visible sign of relief as the army dispersed (the other being Angel, who let out a childishly penchant sigh).
After the drill, Commandramon retired to AEGIS' lounge, in order to... no, that wouldn't do at all, he decided when he was almost there. Just because Davis John was left in charge of the division's duties on Tadayoshi's day off (something the captain didn't resent; of course it should be humans in charge of defending their own home) didn't mean the captain himself could rest. If nothing else, there was always the range, where even if he didn't improve his own skills he could improve upon the adjustments of his weapons, make sure the sights were calibrated and such.
A couple hours at the range helped him make it through the morning, but by noon Commandramon was running out of productive things to do. He's already finished his share of a certain stack of reports regarding a certain invasion of Numemon that made a certain soldier have to take ten showers. His quarters couldn't get any cleaner or neater than they were by now. He'd had an interesting chat earlier with a strategy analyst about tactics to implement that might lead to better early warning. The only thing that wasn't occurring to Commandramon to do was sit down.
While the restless captain wandered the operations floor looking for ways to stay busy, Dakota the Strabimon remarked to Kamushi the Searchmon, "How is it the kid's off days are always our busiest days?" while the pair hid from their boss in the office facade below. "If I have to run one more simulation, I'm gonna drop."

What Commandramon probably didn't know was that Tadayoshi and his girlfriend Rebecca Story had made plans to hang out on their day off. She was wearing one of her favorite outfits today; a sky blue dress with a dark grey coat over it, with black dark leggings and white flat shoes. Her hair was still black however, making her Rebecca and not White Wolf.
Once Rebecca was done getting ready herself, she walked on over to the AEGIS HQ building, walking through the secret door without anyone noticing. She headed over to the receptionist, just silently taking in how advanced and futuristic AEGIS HQ truly looked. "H-Hello... Tadayoshi Teppei is expecting me," she would silently say to the receptionist, holding up her Digivice to prove she was at least involved with Digimon.
I hope I'm doing this right.
If she got the go-ahead from the receptionist, Rebecca would go and take the elevator up to the top floor, the residential area. Once the door opened, she would be met by a kid that seemed around her own age, possibly younger. He had messy brown hair and green eyes, and he was wearing a green turtle neck shirt with tan pants and black boots, his left hand protected by a black leather glove. The two just stared at each other, Rebecca getting more and more nervous until the boy eventually spoke.
"Oh, you must be Tadayoshi's girlfriend, he mentioned something about you coming over." The boy offered his right hand for Rebecca to shake, still not used to the Japanese way of greeting. "I'm Johan Walker."
"Uh... I'm Story Rebecca," the girl nervously said, giving a slight polite bow causing Johan to retract his hand.
"Tadayoshi may still be getting ready. You can hang out in the living room until then, I gotta head over to the shop quickly myself."
"Uh... thank you," Rebecca said as Johan walked into the elevator, with her stepping off of it. Not knowing what else to do, she did as he said and made her way to the living room. From there was three Digimon; one that was a blue cyborg and two that looked like Flamedramons of different colors. The one with orange armor was the first to notice the new human walking in.
"Oh hey, this must be the girl that Yoshi was talking about." The Flamedramon variant would then quietly add, "She IS really hot!"
"Um... he-hello... I'm Rebecca..." She would then nervously hold out her Digivice to let Agumon and Gabumon out of the V-Pet, just so that she would be around at least one familiar face...

Rebecca didn't experience any resistance at reception. On the contrary, the woman gave a warm smile to Rebecca on her way in, perhaps a little too familiar. What Rebecca didn't see after she left was the receptionist picking up a phone, dialing an extension, and speaking, "Mr. Teppei, your girlfriend is on her way up." She also didn't hear a thunk on the other side of the phone or the abrupt thanks and hangup from there. Inexperienced as he was with relationships, Tadayoshi had thought the honeymoon phase of one should have been over by now. He had no way of knowing that for sure, but he did know that it wasn't over for him. The news still made him a little giddy, enough that he had to briefly wrestle with the T-shirt he was just changing into. Heh... a T-shirt, the boy thought to himself as he took in the odd sight of himself in the mirror. She's making such a rebel out of me. There were no hints of sarcasm in that thought; what a strange day it was when Tadayoshi Teppei didn't look like he was about to meet his friends at the country club.
"There will be no comments about the guests' looks," was what Commandramon plainly spoke in order to announce himself as he walked between the pair of taller lizards. The fact that the the soldier didn't make eye contact with either of them seemed to suggest that this was, in his mind, the end of the conversation with no need for further input from them. Rebecca, on the other hand, got a slightly more polite treatment in the form of meeting her eyes and slightly inclining his head. "Ms. Story," he acknowledged her. "Tadayoshi will be out shortly. He's always in a good mood when you're about." Her digimon got a similarly formal but impersonal greeting. "Agumon. Gabumon." And that was that before the soldier wandered off to parts unknown.
Apparently, someone had been waiting for just this. It was not long after that an anxious pair of eyes peered around a corner and scanned for a good long while before hissing in a low tone, "...Is he gone yet?" The eyes were attached to a Missimon, and by the poorly disguised plethora of whispers behind her, her siblings weren't far away.

Before things could get too awkward, Commandramon had joined the group and reminded Speed that comments about the guest's looks was not tolerated. "It was a compliment though, what do you have against compliments?"
It was less compliment and more catcall, Psych reminded him via telepathy, which you really should not be doing considering you have a boyfriend who is partnered with the director of AEGIS. Rebecca shuddered when hearing Psych's voice in her head like that, this must've been one of those strange case agents that she had heard about. Psych wasn't unaware of how uneasy his speech was making her, however. I am terribly sorry, ma'am. My way of speaking is unorthodox. I am Psych, and this is my brother Speed.
"And I am Dokamon," the blue cyborg added. "The human you most likely have passed on the way here is my own partner, Johan."
"...it's n-nice to meet y-you all." Rebecca greeted them with a slight bow despite how uncomfortable they were making her feel. Commandramon stated that Tadayoshi would be down soon, adding that he's always in a good mood when she shows up. "Thank you, Commandramon."
"Oh geez, does that mean Yoshi's gonna be all lovey dovey when he gets down here?"
"Do you mean like you yourself when Lantis is around, perhaps?" Dokamon legitimately asked, not knowing that he unintentionally roasted the Speedramon at that moment.
"...okay fuck you, I'm gonna go run around," was all Speed said before he zoomed right out of the room, causing Rebecca to yelp a bit and the twins to flinch greatly as they were not expecting that to happen at all.
"Is that a common thing for that guy to do?!"
More importantly, Agumon and Gabumon were both pretty disappointed by the greeting they received from Commandramon before he walked away, compared to the way he spoke to Rebecca just a few seconds ago. Did he not respect them enough or something? Before anything could be done or said about that, one of the Missimon emerged from their hiding place around the corner, asking if he was gone yet. "Is who gone? Commandramon, do you mean?"
"I know that Commando is scarier than scary but scary enough to hide from?"
"Commandramon has been working the other members of Silence as hard as if it were not a day off, as far as I can see," Dokamon informed them. "Either Commandramon has pushed the Missimon too far or they are just being lazy like they usually are."
"...dude, you're more monotone than my brother is," was all Agumon could think of to respond.

Unfortunately for the Missimon, nobody actually answered their discreet inquiry about whether Commandramon had actually left the room. It seemed inferrable that he had since the others were speaking so plainly about him, but apparently the siblings wanted to be extra safe. All together, they peeked and crept out from hiding into plain view, arranged in a circle so they could all watch each other's backs. It took some seconds before they would break this formation and finally relax.
"He's a slave driver!" Bonnie complained, "He made Dakota do jumping jacks for half an hour."
"He's cruel!" Lonnie agreed, "He told Talon to keep a holding pattern over the station all day."
"He's mad!" Connie added, "He made Rashi run laps on land."
"He's a disciplinarian!" Ronnie chimed in, "He told Hagurumon to mop the whole floor for being slow to role call." It was at this moment that in the distance one could hear a distant voice cry out, followed soon by a dull thud. Presumably, someone had just slipped on a wet floor.
"He's a total work horse!" Tawny threw in, "He's making Deckerdramon go over the last twenty calls tell Commandramon three things we should've done better for each one!"
"He's-" Sid didn't get to say his piece because that was when a door loudly opened. Five of the Missimon panicked and hid behind the wall again. Others could still hear him complain, "But I didn't get to say my-!" before he was obviously muffled by hands over his mouth.
There was nothing for them to fear, however. It wasn't the captain returning but the general emerging. Unlike Commandramon's earlier domineering demeanor, the boy had a very upbeat and cheery atmosphere about him. He was a little surprised to see so many faces gathered in one spot, but he took it in stride anyway. "Hi, everyone," he greeted them all with a pleased smile and a raised hand. Speed's prediction didn't quite come to fruition due to all the eyes on him and Tadayoshi's tendency away from public displays, but he did unapologetically hug Rebecca upon getting close enough to her.
"I hope you weren't waiting long. I meant to be ready as soon as you got here." After Tadayoshi let go of her, he addressed the others. "Well, um, Davis is in charge of things for the day if you need anything. Oh!" He now addressed Johan's crew now. "Would you please ask Johan to diagnose one of the data mining servers? The technician thinks he just clicked on the wrong popup, but I'd feel safer if Johan looked at it himself." He looked around expectantly for a spell before wondering aloud, "Where's Commandramon?"
"Sir!" Tadayoshi almost didn't have time to finish the question. It was a mystery where he'd shown up from, but there the captain was, wide-eyed and respectfully saluting. It seemed that was one summons he just couldn't ignore.
Yoshi politely ,but less tensely, saluted back. "I'm heading out now, just wanted you to know. Have fun while I'm gone!" This cordial goodbye did not make the captain change his stance, but regardless Tadayoshi would then go on to offer an arm to escort Rebecca. "Shall we?"

Now while Rebecca chose not to say anything in response, she did listen in as the Missimon complained about how insanely hard Commandramon had pushed the other members of Silence. Her partners listened too, and while the examples started out relatively tame, they got more and more unreasonable after each Missimon had said their piece.
To Bonnie, "C'mon, we're Digimon, we can handle something like that!"
To Lonnie, "That kind of makes sense, they are flying Digimon and they could use the practice..."
To Connie, "Wait, isn't Rashi's whole thing water? That just sounds cruel."
They didn't even need to respond to Ronnie, as Speed clearly showed when he slipped on that wet floor. "WHO'S THE NEEMON THAT MOPPED THIS FLOOR?!" his muffled voice could be heard. "THERE WASN'T EVEN A WET FLOOR SIGN ANYWHERE!"
Clearly Commandramon was not well liked by the members of Silence at this point in time, purely because he makes them work to the wire frame almost constantly. Agumon and Gabumon looked at each other and sweatdropped; work was necessary and all, but wasn't Commandramon sort of pushing it with his teammates?"
Eventually Sid was the only Missimon who didn't get to speak as that was when Tadayoshi had arrived, giving Rebecca a hug in the process that she of course returned back to him. The human girl smiled. "A T-Shirt, huh? What next; ripped jeans? A leather jacket?" She was of course just playfully teasing since she knew the Xros General usually wore dress shirts and khaki pants. "And no, I wasn't waiting long at all. Your co-workers are, uh... interesting. The fast one kinda creeps me out, though..."
Dokamon and Psych both perked up when Tadayoshi began speaking to them. He wanted them to get Johan to diagnose one of the mining servers. "Affirmative. I will let Johan know as soon as he arrives from the store."
"What's a 'mining server'? Is that like a Minecraft server purely for mining?" Agumon asked, causing Rebecca, Gabumon, Dokamon and Psych to all sweatdrop anime-style in response.
Lastly, after Commandramon had showed up from practically nowhere after being summoned (and scaring the living daylight out of Agumon and Gabumon in the process,) Tadayoshi had instructed his partner to "have fun" while he's gone, offering Rebecca an arm to escort her, which Rebecca kindly accepted. "Stay out of trouble, you two!" Rebecca would say to her own Digimon before leaving with Tadayoshi.
With Dokamon and Psych leaving the area to attend to other matters, that left Agumon, Gabumon and Commandramon alone together. This was a bit awkward, as they didn't know much about the gun-wielding dinosaur other than he was a bit of a slave driver towards his teammates. "Well, Tadayoshi did say to have some fun while they're gone. Anyone have any ideas?"
"We coooould... go to the beach!"
"It's winter right now, Agumon. Oh, how about we go to Rosewood? I haven't properly explored that city yet, and I heard it has a bunch of options for food and entertainment. What do you say, Commandramon?"

Upon hearing Speed slip in a hazard left by his own suboordinate, Commandramon sunk his face into his own paws. I gave them one simple job... already he was starting to fume. That continued on through the twins' speculation on fun activities. The beach? A visit to Rosewood? Absurd thoughts! There was far too much to get done around here, and if there wasn't then the captain needed to show initiative and find something. "There's no time for that. Excuse me, but I have to find Hagurumon, then those Missimon."
The Missimon family, still being around the corner, thought they found their chance, and that was why they all zoomed out to block Commandramon's path as soon as he had pivoted a hundred and eighty degrees. "Wait, boss!" Connie cried, awkwardly twiddling her thumbs. It wasn't in most anyone's nature to directly contradict the captain. "We- we'll tell 'em! Yeah, we'll make him do better!"
"Besides," Bonnie piled on, "You still have that- that thing to do." Commandramon stared at her deadpan. She knew she didn't know what she was talking about. So did he. These two were obviously improvising whatever their newest harebrained scheme was.
"G-General's orders!" Lonnie was having trouble making direct eye contact for a second, but he soon grew more confident. "You heard the kid. He told you to have fun while he's gone."
Ronnie wasn't as quick on the uptake. He had to be nudged by Lonnie in order to realize it was his turn to do his part. "H-he did! And you... you wouldn't wanna disobey the kid's direct and explicit orders, do ya?"
Every single one of the Missimon melodramatically cringed at this thought. Their acting was a bit over the top but strangely effective. Tawny drove it home. "If you don't have fun, we're gonna have to tell him. How's he ever gonna rely on you again?"
Sid, looking eager and well-rehearsed, opened his mouth. Having gone last, he'd had the most time to mentally rehearse his part in this silly scheme. Confidently, he began, "That means-"
"Stop."
"-I'm not done!"
Commandramon glared down at the last Missimon. "Yes, you are." This time, Sid agreed after gulping anxiously. The dragon's stare was intense, his countenance furious. The captain towered over the six digimon who would go on to huddle together as they collectively cowered beneath the captain's gaze. "...Very well."
"What?" All six Missimon recoiled in absolute shock. Now speaking together, they wondered, "That worked?"
"No. Never, ever do that again." Of course it didn't work. Did they actually expect to convince Commandramon that Tadayoshi's goodbye was a command, not a pleasantry? What kind of fool could they take him for, he wondered. How dare they attempt to gaslight him! But, shockingly, the Missimon accidentally had a point: I suppose Tadayoshi wouldn't want me in the state I am now. Still... There was another problem to solve.
"I would like to accept, but-" The captain pointed out the window. "-there's a street and a train station full of humans between us and the digital world. None of us have our humans to get us there. How do you propose we do it without alerting the humans?"
In some corner somewhere, a pack of five Missimon was all huddled around the sixth. Sid was the one sulking and moaning, "I never got to talk..."

Unsurprisingly, Commandramon was about to completely reject the idea of hanging out with Agumon and Gabumon for the time being. What was a surprise was that the Missimon siblings came around the corner to try and convince Commandramon otherwise. They mentioned that Tadayoshi DID give Commandramon an order to have fun, and he wouldn't want to disappoint the general, would he?
Sadly Commandramon saw right through their attempts, and warned them to never do such a thing again. This is where Agumon stepped in, definitely not intimidated by Commandramon's scary glare as he gave one equally as scary. "Yo, Commando, can't you see that you're stressing them out? Hell, you're stressing ME out! It's all work work work with you, and I'm not gonna stand for it. If I haveta, I'll drag you down to the Digital World to destress!"
"He will indeed do that, Commandramon. He's stronger than he looks."
Commandramon admitted that he would like to accept, but brought up the fact that they'd have to go through a human-infested city to get to the Trailmon station. Agumon and Gabumon looked at each other and grinned before they flickered out, their bodies morphing into more humanoid shapes. In Agumon's place stood a tall and lean male with short blonde hair, and in Gabumon's place stood a tall and lean male with medium-length white hair, both sharing the same humanoid face like twins would.
"We got ourselves holosuits, so we're covered!"
"I suppose you do not have a holosuit though, do you, Commandramon?"
"We could look for some oversized clothes to cover him up with! Shouldn't be too hard, just gotta hide the tail and the face, right?"

Even though Commandramon stood taller and prouder in the face of Agumon's threat, it didn't dissuade him from ultimately giving into it. What did was his clear lack of a holosuit. The fact was, Commandramon was a digimon, and this was something he took such pride in that he never would have felt right donning a human's skin and walking among them. He also thought the general population wouldn't want someone like him hiding amongst them, and those were wishes he was willing to respect even if it would make some AEGIS work harder. "It's true," the captain confirmed, "I don't have one."
This was tricky. Usually, Commandramon would cross that border with Tadayoshi as his escort. Without him, it was time to get creative. Hmm. The weather is getting colder. Well-covering clothing wouldn't be out of place. His eyes darted in the direction of his and Tadayoshi's dorm. Just because Tadayoshi didn't live there didn't mean he had no possessions there. "...You two wait here."
Commandramon went on to dash off in that direction. The fact that he came back in winter clothes that concealed him well probably wasn't too surprising to the twins. What might have thrown them for a loop, perhaps, was that they were perfectly his size (or, as perfect as they could be with his body type). From under a hood that he made sure would drape over his snout, he explained, "Tadayoshi was collecting winter clothes for children who don't have any." If there were any doubts about the morality of nicking some some winter boots, snow pants, and a heavy jacket from underprivileged children, Commandramon also promised, "I will return them safely."
There was a rather suspicious bulge in the pants (specifically, the rear and down one pant leg) where Commandramon's tail was stuffed. Hopefully humans would be too busy about their own business to wonder why.

Now in their "human" forms, Agumon and Gabumon watched as Commandramon dashed off to what was presumed to be Tadayoshi's dorm room. Did Commandramon have some sort of plan for something like this? Whatever he may be doing, it didn't stop anyone from potentially commenting on it. "What do you suppose he's planning?"
"He's gonna come outta there in some kinda mismash of clothing to hide his Digimon parts, I bet. What else could he be doing in there?"
"I don't think Commandramon is the type to do something like that."
Of course Gabumon was proven wrong very quickly when Commandramon walked out of the dorm room wearing a heavy jacket with the hood over his eyes and snout, snow pants and winter boots, with his tail obviously shoved down one of the legs of the snow pants. He explained that Tadayoshi had been collecting these clothes for kids who didn't have any, to explain why they had fit him so well.
The two brothers looked at Commandramon in disbelief... then to each other with the same expression... before Agumon started laughing out loud and Gabumon turned around in an attempt to hide the fact that he could not keep his own giggles inside. Commandramon looked utterly ridiculous!
"Oh Ygg, I wish I had a camera right about now," Agumon said as he continued laughing.
Gabumon cleared his throat as he managed to calm himself down. "At least you look vaguely human... though I am worried about if you can see or not. Come on, let's get to the Trailmon station." Agumon and Gabumon would both start to leave HQ, but of course they had to look back to see if Commandramon could... well, see where he was going. If push comes to shove, one of the twins may have to hold his hand...

Of course Commandramon knew where he was going. How many times had he gone in and out the exact same way before? In fact, he didn't even have to wear the hood up indoors, so of course it was no trouble as far as getting to the elevator. "It's a factor, but I will just have to adapt," he admitted to the pair in the elevator. When it hit the ground floor, though, it was too late to turn back. This section of the building was open to the public, so he had to cover up.
If the twins were expecting Commandramon to bump his nose on he inside of the elevator, they were sorely mistaken. His sensory memory helped him remember exactly where the exit was, and he walked through it with no problems. Easy-peasy. The dragon couldn't really help getting a tad smug about it either. "Maybe you'll think twice about doubting me," he said with a small smile. The fact that he went on to bump straight into a corner might have undermined his point, but like a pro he rolled off the impact and continued on undaunted.
It was probably clear by the time the captain made a wrong turn into a coffee shop that he wasn't gonna get where he was going alone.
But through either the twins' intervention or some divine being's, he made it as far as the road crossing before he yet again endangered himself. Relying on only his ears, he crossed the road without knowing for sure whether it was a safe time. That was the reason he didn't know a Nissan was about to cut his military career short.

Gabumon really didn't have confidence when Commandramon said that he'd just have to adapt to not having sight for a bit. Shibuya was a very dangerous place, even for a Digimon. One wrong step and the twins would have to be peeling a pancake-ified former soldier from the pavement. Such a sight didn't leave Gabumon with much optimism as the three entered the elevator, beginning their journey to the Digital World.
The elevator reached the ground floor and the doors opened, causing Commandramon to put the hood up. He effortlessly walked out of the elevator like a normal Digimon, smugly stating how the twins would think twice before doubting him again. Of course then Commandramon did as Gabumon feared, walking right into a corner and just carrying on as if nothing happened.
Agumon and Gabumon stared at their comrade with unamused faces. "I give him five minutes," Agumon said before running off to catch up with Commandramon, Gabumon following not too far behind.
Not only were the twins now SEVERELY doubting him, the fact that Commandramon made a wrong turn into a nearby coffee shop and needing Gabumon to run up and grab his hand definitely proved that he couldn't do this alone. "Next time we go through Shibuya, you're doing so in a holosuit," he would sternly tell Commandramon.
Thanks to the twins intervening whenever Commandramon would do something stupid, they somehow made it to the road crossing, the train station wouldn't be too far away now. It was unfortunate that the twins would let their guard down and allow Commandramon to start crossing the street, despite the fact that a Nissan car was coming right for him at full speed. Agumon's eyes widened as he realized what was going to happen. A surge of adrenaline coursing through his body, he would run at full speed at Commandramon to pick him up with both arms, carrying him across the crosswalk and just narrowly avoiding the car.
Once the crisis was averted, both twins let out a collective sigh in relief, Gabumon holding his hand to his chest and Agumon letting Commandramon fall right onto the ground, before he himself fell to his knees from exhaustion. "You... are WAY heavier than you look," Agumon commented in between breaths. "You gotta cut back on the grub."
Bearing in mind any other incidents the trio may encounter, it seemed like a miracle that they were finally at the Trailmon Station. Gabumon would place his hand onto the scanner to allow the platform to be accessed, the twins deactivating their holosuits as they walked through. "Hm, where are you going to keep your disguise while we are there, Commandramon?"
"Yeah, you're gonna get a lotta looks and laughs if you keep wearing that getup."

Through a combination of clever maneuvering, expert stealth tactics, a small combination of miracles, and the general apathy of the usual Tokyoite, the trio of digimon successfully snuck into the restricted area of Shibuya's train terminal - now, rather, its Trailmon terminal. As miffed as he admittedly was about the pass at his weight, he knew he was in no place to spit back.
The soldier lifted the hood when the only humans around were (mostly) knowledgeable about what to expect. He was quick to get out of the cumbersome disguise, and fortunately he already knew exactly what to do with it as well. "You two wouldn't need to know this since you use holo suits..." Commandramon led them to a section of the platform where a big section of wall was dedicated to cubby storage. Apparently, Gabumon's question had already been answered. The group passed a Tentomon picking up a green hoodie and a bright yellow hat alongside an Agumon already wearing their own dark blue hoodie. "General's clothes can be left here. We can pick them up on our way back. This way we won't have to steal them from the underprivileged they're meant for." Commandramon was meticulous about exactly how evenly he folded the disguise before he deposited it into an empty cubby.
"Thank you both for guiding me, by the way," the captain acknowledged after that with a polite nod of the head. "Now... to find the correct Trailmon to insert us into our area of operation." As Commandramon wandered back toward the Trailmon platforms, he queried, "Well, you two, this was your idea. Was it still Rosewood? I know it well. We met near there, after all, and I've trained some of the youngsters when the mood strikes me."

Not even a simple 'thanks for saving my life, o great Agumon,' what a pain, August bitterly thought to himself after saving Commandramon from that oncoming car. Granted he did make a slightly unwarranted shot at Commandramon's supposed weight but still, saying thanks wouldn't have been that hard for the soldier, would it?
Now that they arrived in a section where Commandramon could actually lift his hood (meaning no more incidents like with the car until they headed back,) they were led to a section where it seemed like Digimon would drop off things like disguises until they came back. "Interesting. I suppose it makes sense for those without holosuits."
"At least we don't hafta carry those stupid clothes everywhere with us now."
As soon as Commandramon was done storing his disguise, he turned to the twins and finally thanked them for guiding him here. "Oh it was... not a problem at all," Gabumon said, wanting to be polite but also lying right through his teeth. Making sure Commandramon didn't walk to anywhere dumb was exhausting, but he wasn't going to admit that.
Agumon, however... "Yeah it was, what are you talking about?"
"Agumon!"
Now it was time to deal with the question of where do they go next. Commandramon asked if Rosewood was still on the table. "I don't see why not? We've only been there a couple times with our Tamer. We helped guide some young Digimon to the city once before."
"Then some FlyBeemon showed up and we had to fight 'em... or, we had to watch while our traveling mates did all the fighting, because of that 'fairness' bullshit. One on our side almost lit the forest on fire like a dummy."
"Don't say that, you would've done the exact same thing, and at least Shoutmon apologized."

Commandramon didn't give a clear indication whether he was ignoring Agumon's bluntness or simply didn't notice it, but in either case he didn't show much hint of emotion in response.
During the train ride the train ride, the soldier sat himself across from the twins. Whenever he wasn't engaged in conversation with them, his eyes drifted out the window, which turned out to be often. There were many times when he couldn't think of a line to avoid dead air. He almost seemed to be thinking about something during these times that he spaced out, but Commandramon never vocalized it.
When the train stopped, the dragon soldier reached for something in his lap before standing, then startled a little when he realized nothing had been there. He stood, but only so he could look beneath where he had been sitting as well as around his surroundings. He patted himself down with a moderate sense of urgency and only gave up on his spontaneous search when some lightbulb went off in his head. He'd just remembered something, at which point he took a breath and relaxed again. Commandramon knew that deserved some kind of explanation, but he wouldn't have been surprised if the twins had figured out what that was about on their own: "This is the first time I have traveled to the digital world unarmed."
While he appeared to relax a little after confessing that, there was still an edge to the dragon's body language. He was still a little uncomfortable, perhaps even about something else entirely.
