Ever since the loss of the great Marine; nothing had been quite the same for the inhabitants of Sunken Elysium. Most of the territories that had been under his kindly protection had been taken, one by one. By bigger and nastier under sea bullies.
The only real part that was still protected was the ‘Coral Marine’. A small village for refuge, for lost souls and orphans. For those who had nowhere else to go. It was the former home of Marine himself. Hidden in the depths of the digital coral that had grown across the sea floor and up the rock formation which surrounded it. Only a few children remained in Coral Marine. Some feared their own demise and had made a hasty retreat, only to be met by bigger and dangerous predators. Others stayed, only due to the coral and rock formation created a shield for them to hide behind.
Levi was the only one who had much chance of dealing with anyone who attempted to lay hands on it, if only due to her pluck, tensity and training. But she was small and a single guppy in the ocean of bigger sharks.
She swam fast, using the known ocean currents to propel her forward. A quick return was the best plan. She needed to get back and to warn the others. Predators were incoming and they needed to increase any defenses they had left.
So focused was she on returning to the Coral, she failed to notice anything out of the ordinary. More specifically, what lay waiting, out of sight.
Before, Levi could look around. Something flat flew out of nowhere with a great deal of blunt force behind it. The ends of sharp nails cut into her face, but where prevented much damage by her hardened shark skin.
The trident slipped from her mouth and fell slowly down into the ink ocean depths. Only stopping due to the heavy chain tied around Levi’s tail. It slowly drifted backwards and forwards hanging from her tail like the pendulum of a grandfather clock.
“Geso-geso-geso!”
A large and stark-white creature clumsily contorted and broke free from between rocky crevices. It dropped down, causing a small amount of sand to rise up as it struck the ocean floor.
“No so tough, then. I thought you had been trained by that old ‘master’ guy. Geso-geso-geso.” A cold and sly inflection in the voice which was followed by the trailing laugh. It infuriated Levi, more than she could say.
Levi shook her head and tried to right herself. Before she even had a chance, the long stretchy squid arms extended and slapped her once more. She flew backwards and struck the sea wall.
“Barnacles…” Levi groaned, annoyed with herself for falling for not one but two stupid tricks. “Levi is gonna gets’yuu for dat!”
“Geso-geso-geso! I don’t think so!”
The Gesomon’s long tentacles stretched once more, threatening to slam her once more into the sea wall. Levi flicked her tail, wrapping it around the chain and with great effort, swung the trident up with great force. Before the Gesomon could do anything, the silver blades struck and impaled the rubbery left tentacle, causing it to roar in pain.

The depths of sunken elysium was not a place that nokk thought of herself going; not since she was young. Not since that she was under the watchful eyes of her parents. Parents that had been gone for what felt like centuries at this point. But now that she was older; now that she was bigger she couldn’t stay in the shallows for much longer.
Her presence was affecting the ecosystem there and after meeting with some scientists from whitewater they had some locations they suggested to her. Deeper, wider areas that she could live without buckling a delicate balance. Not wishing ill of those that lived around her the siren agreed to head deeper into the unknown. Or at least unknown to her.
The leviathan type digimon slowly came to a halt, pulling out her waterproof map that she was given by those scientists. From what she could tell; she was getting closer to one of the villages they had talked about. Deep enough to where she could get directions and likely in just a spot where if she wanted to well… she could probably settle.
The single eye scanned through the various crevices and coral to try to find what they were talking about. Only to overhear something that carried poorly through the water; something that sounded like laughing and some angry retort.
She’d hum a little bit and slowly made her way through the water; to see something that she wasn’t exactly sure what to make of. A large octopus… squid looking creature that was trash talking what looked to be a smaller shark like creature. The latter of which being almost something akin to distant cousins. Nokk looked back and forth between the two. The information of their conversation slowly turning the gears in her head.
The larger one was being hostile to the smaller one and judging from what she could see… the smaller one seemed defensive rather than aggressive. The siren’s eye drifted a bit to spot the village. More and more added up and it just clicked.
So the smaller one was being defensive over the village and this larger squid was likely trying to encroach. Something that the leviathan type mon didn’t like. She couldn’t stand bullies in any form and this just… seemed like that! She’d huff to herself and push through the coral. Swimming above the pair; letting her shadow slowly overtake the both of them.
”Nokk was confused by this situation when she first got here… but she’s pretty sure that the squid is being mean. Is he being mean shark friend?”
She wasn’t quite in combat yet, but she could feel her body start to spool up. At first it would seem like she was smaller than the squid but upon a closer look she was just a bit bigger than him.... For those that were likely watching from afar and less likely to be involved in the combat? Well they’d be able to tell that the leviathan had doubled in size.

Now greatly angered, the Gesomon screeched and roared in pain. However, only the tips of the silver trident having pierced the white rubber-like skin. While not a fatal wound, a faint spray of data fell from the wound and mixed with the water as the trident was retracted.
“I’ll ge-ge-geso you for that! I’ll make you pay!”
Using the creatures angered writhing as an escape, Levi pushed off from the sea wall. Swimming at full pelt through the waters depths. Out of nowhere, a tentacle stretching faster than she could swim. Scooped up the little shark and with great force slammed her into the wall, once more. The Gesomon looked down upon Levi, like a spider who has caught its prey and was preparing to strike!
“Barnacles!”
Levi repeated these words once again, as she attempted to once more strike with her trident. Although this time, the Gesomon was prepared. The smaller leg tentacles had wrapped around it tightly, and were tugging it down.
“Geso-geso-geso! Now you are going too pay!“
The free tentacle raised up and prepared to strike, hovering in the current as if waiting for the perfect opportunity. Almost gloating the small shark. The terrible white monster released another round of shrill laughter. Levi closed her eyes, preparing for a crushing blow. But none came.
Gesomon fell silent. Between all the fighting, Levi and Gesomon has failed to notice the arrival of a third competitor. As the shark opened her eyes, wondering why there had been no pain. She caught sight of it, right above them. Circling them.
A giant, black-scaled monster. At first she only caught sight of the sleek black tail, cutting through the ocean as it turned.
The only words that came to mind were... “Oh...fish paste!”
Levi’s mouth fell open, revealing rows of sharpened teeth. But nothing compared to the monster who continued to circle them.
Levi couldn’t help but tilt her head as the creature spoke. It voice was oddly cute and sweet, in comparison to its giant monster-like body.
Once more, Levi opened her mouth to reply. But Gesomon beat her to it.
“Geso-geso! Geso! This is MY prey! Go and find your own, you filthy monster. This will be MY land! ALL MINE! Geso-geso-geso!”
The Gesomon stormed, angrily. The tentacles flailing, angrily. The grip on the little shark was released and she swam away, casting a sizable distance between herself and rubber arms. As well as from the unknown monster Digimon.
“I dun’t know whats you is,” Levi muttered bravely.
Before continuing, she flicked her tail and shot the trident back up. With a great bite, it returned to her mouth, secured by the teeth. The long steel chain falling to her side. Falling several inches to near her tail.
“But, yesh. Gesomon, bad Digimon.” Upon these words, her wide black eyes eyes narrowed into cat-like slits.
The Gesomon turned between the monster and Levi herself, unsure which one to attack first. Both of them seemed like adequate targets and both were getting in its way. That means they needed to pay and get out of Gesomon’s way!

Nokk’s arrival probably didn’t bode too well for one of the parties; the party being well… whoever the aggressor was. Nokk was plenty friendly and even though she asked what was going on she was… well still smiling big and wide. Hearing the words drop out of levi only earned a small chuckle from nokk.
But then the gesomon seemed to claimed this area as the other. Find her own? Filthy monster? Nokk harumphed a bit and she felt her body swell some; pushing her beyond her prior limits just a bit. Making her practically loom over the gesomon. Her sole eye starting to burn with an intense fury.
Nokk didn’t like insults. She didn’t like this Gesomon either.
”Land is land. Sea is sea. You can claim territory wherever you please but…”
The monster loomed, her ears flicking and hearing that the gesomon was a bad digimon only slammed in home what was going on here. The single eye shifted and slowly opened. Pouring the view of her shark jaw iris’ to the both of them. It swept along the scenery. She could see the town off in the distance; a little home to others.
”Nokk is nokk. And nokk is friend.”
This gesomon wanted this territory also probably meant that it’d try to upheave the others in that town. With a bellow of faux anger Nokk thrashed her tail in a vicious arc. Looking to smack the gesomon solidly in it’s ‘midsection’ if there was even one. Her size would mean she was slower than normal yes but she also packed an incredible wallop normally…
What would that mean with her being sixty feet tall now?

Against her better judgment, Levi watched as the giant monster creature spoke. Levi was unsure what these words actually meant. Although, the look of intense anger that she show the Gesomon was enough said.
The Gesomon was getting equally riled up. It appeared to be swelling just as much as the monster Digimon that seemed to call itself, ‘Nokk’.
“Geso Geso! This is my land! Begone foul monster! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE! MINE!”
Before the rubberized squid speak any further or could even lift a tentacle, Nokk swung. Levi caught it as it moved slowly through the ocean. The tail rose and fell like a massive anvil. With a great deal of force slammed right into the furious squid’s body.
Like a cannonball, Gesomon shot down and slammed hard into the ocean floor. Crumpled and defeated? Or so it seemed.
“Woah…” Levi muttered.
Her eyes wide as she took note of the size that the monster, Nokk had grown too. It must have been at least sixty foot tall now, at the very least. Unsure, she clasped harder onto the trident’s hilt.
“Is you’ze a friends? Or a not friends? Levi would rather you be’ze a friends. Don’t want to fights with you.”
While Levi was going to protect her town and friends no matter what the cost was. She was also willing to do it in a peaceful manner. Unnecessary fighting was not the way, she had been taught by Marine. She would besmirch his memory with an unneeded attack. Especially one that was at least 56 foot taller than her.
“Levi...” she pointed her fins at herself. “Levi, friend. Okays?!
But, in the short time that Levi had been speaking to Nokk. The disgruntled and crumpled form of Gesomon stirred.
“Geso-Geso-Geso! I-I’m going to rip that town a...apart! I’m gonna swallow up all the data of everyone who c..called it home. Just. Because. Of. You!”
The Gesomon stumbled clumsily, almost drunkely back onto its tentacles.
“I’ll make sure… make sure you… you pay!”
It opened its mouth wide and spat out a jet of black ink. The ink swelled around them cloaking them in a cloud of darkness.
Levi raised her trident, once more. Unsure it this was a attempt at an escape or readying for a sneak attack.
“Nokk-friend. Takes care for Gesomon! Okay?”

Nokk couldn’t help but roll her eye at the fact that the gesomon thought this area was it’s. Leave it to the predatorial types to get like this about a dispute. Nokk didn’t like fighting; in fact she flat out hated it but she had to at least establish herself as someone that the squid would not want to mess with for future events.
She would have left it at that as she lazily floated through the water. Her eye flicking from the Gesomon to Levi. Her head tilted and the leviathan would level her head; taking in the smaller mon for a few moments before smiling wide.
”Levi friend! Don’t worry. Nokk doesn’t like…”
Nokk’s features shifted and she’d grow a bit quizical as the Gesomon laughed; bringing her attention down to the other. At first her curiosity was apparent easy to grab and the huge monster that was nokk was definitely much more friendly in terms of posture.
But then what the gesomon said stirred something in nokk. Something primal. Something defensive. Her eye slowly opened up and the shark jaws practically shone with a mavolence that surpassed anything that she had felt before. She had heard half baked death threats before but this one flat out took the cake.
With the Ink swelled around them nokk felt her body jump another twenty some feet. Making the monstrous digimon even larger; bigger than some of the super megas that were out there! She towered in this ocean and even with that huge cloud of ink… Well was it enough cover her?
Even if it wasn’t her huge reach would prove to be the undoing of this gesomon. She’d reach back and swing her tail again. In an overhead downward spike. If the gesomon was caught in this attack there was no way it wouldn’t be broken into… well tiny tiny pieces!
”Nokk will be fine. This isn’t all that she can do.”

Gesomon’s last attack has caused an inky blot separating the three of them from one another. The black stain on the water, thick like swamp, but dense like the mistiest mist. Levi raised her trident, ready for an attack to come from any angle. Just in case.
Her instincts proved correct, as Gesomon appeared right on top of her. Bursting through the cloud. A white blot against the cloudy black.
“Now I got you! It’s time to fall! Then it’ll be your friend. Don’t worry I’ll make sure that they see what I do to you. Geso, Geso, Geso!” Gesomon shrieked, followed by a cold, threatening laugh. The rubberized squid raised a tentacle and was ready to strike.
"NOW, FALL!"
The fierce swipe of clawed tentacle was inches away from Levi. Unable to move in time to block, avoid or anything. Levi looked on in almost horror.
But before any pain reached Levi, before she felt the claws cut into her or tentacle wrap around her. The Gesomon seemed to fall away from them down to the ocean floor. Levi blinked, slightly confused.
Gesomon released another shriek but this time of intense pain. Although unclear, through the cloud, Nokk had struck once again. Her tail had swiped down, right onto the Gesomon’s head. The giant’s sea beasts swipe had even cleared the inky cloud.
Levi blinked, several times as her vision was restored. She raised her trident but there was now no need. It was clear that the Gesomon was now unable to move. Flattened, defeated, crushed and destroyed. Gesomon lay crumpled at on the sea floor. The defeated squid opened his mouth as if to say something but no word was uttered from the mouth.
Before Levi could say a word, the squid vanished. A whoosh of data flew up as the creature evaporated into fragments. The remains of the once vicious monster glistened against the now calm ocean for a second and then vanished too.
“Monster, gone? Das much good,” Levi breathed a sigh of relief, finally lowering her trident from its attack position. “Thank Nokk. Nokk save Levi. Nokk is new friend of Levi,” she muttered, as if clarifying the proceeding.
For a moment, Levi stared at Nokk, almost searchingly. Her face screwed up, ever so slightly, as if she was considering a very difficult equation. After a few seconds of of silence, Levi swam closer to the titanic monster.
“Levi would invite Nokk to Levi home. But Nokk...”
She paused to stare up at the giant monster, who still towered over the tiny shark.

Seeing that inky blot part for her tail and the words that Gesomon spoke before it’s body was hit by her massive blow was odd to Nokk. She didn’t particularly enjoy fighting; she only ever saw it as a necessity when someone wouldn’t back down. That being said? It always hurt when a potential friend would have to be pushed away or kicked to the curb like this. She’d bite her lower lip and watch the gesomon struggle for a few moments. She could feel the tears welling up in her eye and a few of them rolled out of it to join the water; still prompting her to wipe at her face with one of her huge hands. ”Could have been Nokk’s friend if Gesomon wasn’t so hostile… Tch...”Nokk grumbled a little bit and shook her head again; unsure of what to really say. Her body was already slowly shifting back down to it’s normal size. Still considerably bigger than Levi was or probably most around here sitting in rookie forms. She’d turn her head and tilt it one way as Levi approached. The titanic nokk had pretty much returned to her ‘normal’ size but… She’d shift a bit. Invite to home? Oh! Nokk chuckled lightly and shifted in the water; easily twirling to face the other. ”Nokk can de-digivolve don’t worry friend Levi!”Nokk rumbled a little bit and her body would take on that light of evolution; her form shrinking quite rapidly till she was in her rookie form. With a big toothy grin and simply swish of her tail the much smaller rookie would approach her would be friend. ”This will work better Friend Levi?”Even if it didn’t Nokk would be fine with being outside with friends. She was curious about this would be village and all the potential friends that she could have down there. If this deeper area was better for her she probably could make a living helping levi out with problems like this. Then again her mere presence would be more than enough half the time… ”Oh! Nokk almost forgot. Are there any caves around here that aren’t being used? Preferably big ones! Or ship wrecks. Nokk is used to living out of them.”

Levi swam forward, closer to the giant monster who had been proven, friend. Her eyes blinked twice, albeit unable to finish her sentence. But, she need no finish as Nokk seemed to understand, perfectly.
Head slightly tilted – Levi watched amazed with large amber eyes wide. The entire body of the giant leviathan, Nokk began to shimmer with a bright white light. For just a second, casting a light over the dark and murky ocean, around them.
Her giant body began to shrink down from the monstrous form to a smaller and slightly more humanoid form. Although smaller, this new Nokk still was larger than Levi. Black scaled and long with a great maw, like a true dragon.
“That work! Yessh! Much work!” Levi said, nodding her head several times, now excited.
Now Nokk would be able fit through to the home that was hidden in the coral. Without a moment to spare, Levi turned on her heel, swimming in the other direction. Dropping down, deeper into the ocean depths. Back towards the place that she had been heading prior to the attack from the Gesomon.
As she reached the tall wall of pink, yellow and green coral which grew from the thick stone. Levi paused allowing Nokk to follow behind her. She dropped down again, her tail swiping from left-to-right. She hovered for just a second over the hole carved through the stone.
“Levi not sure, Nokk? Levi friend! Know better than Levi! Levi friend help Nokk find new home, if that what Nokk wants!”
Levi swam forward. All went dark as she passed through the stone and then she emerged in a gully. A wide, spherical, open plain of land carved in the stone. The makeshift village made by her fallen master.
Small make-do houses littered the area, set in and up the walls. In and around the coral which grew wildly from all sides. The outer structure built from driftwood from fallen ships and logs carried by the ocean. The inner carved and cut into and through the stone wall which created small rooms.
Right in the center of the gully on a raised platform. A twinkle of lights all around it cast by the lights of something almost like fireflies, was a taller building. Levi swam down towards it but did not enter. Pausing at the entrance.
"This, Levi home. But is also home to who don't belong," Levi said, all excitement seeming extinguished from her.
As the pair drew closer to the light. The truth of this makeshift town would become apparent. Thick, deep grooves and cuts in the stone which held up both the building and the stand around it. The driftwood held up by more driftwood as hasty repairs had been made.
The evidence of a fierce battle or battles, well fought.
