MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits Airi Hirano's Resolutions - As a consequence of having eleventy billion characters, I didn't get Airi in as many threads as I would have liked. Airi and Sable managed to complete two threads with other people, one with Magnus, where they durdled around, put a Meicoomon to sleep with the power of stink, and then durdled back home after stealing Magnus's wallet. Then the other was a hunt thread for BLU-J, where she watched Sable argue with Shade before going their separate ways at the earliest opportunity. I feel like I've succeeded in doing what I wanted to do with Airi. She isn't a particularly nice girl, and she's more than willing to manipulate people in order to get what she wants from them, but she isn't an entirely selfish person, either. Airi may be a thief, but she doesn't covet what she takes from people, but rather does so out of boredom.
The theme for this Airi Hirano account is "family". Airi is a little girl who was essentially abandoned by her parents, and is unwanted by the remaining family she has left. Despite being nine years old, Airi lives by herself, only receiving occasional visits by her grandfather who stops by to give her spending money and to make sure she's healthy. If it weren't for the fact that she's essentially a genius that's been able to rationalize her living situation for the most part, she would be an absolute wreck. But instead she fuels her emotional distress into petty crimes, where she lives off the excitement. Maybe she would get the attention she craves if she got caught, but Airi's a smart girl, and she hardly ever gets caught.
But to get my original point, the theme of "family" plays a pivotal point in Airi's character growth. Airi has never experienced what it's like to have a family that loves and cares for you, and seeing a Digimon as twisted and manipulative as Sable act completely different around her Sistermon sisters baffles the little girl. But eventually Airi will find herself within that family, and as disturbing and dysfunctional as her Xros partners are, she'll eventually find a home. Those are my plans for her, at least.
Mother Sable the Sistermon Noire- The rookie-strength Sable arguing with an Ultimate-level probably wasn't the greatest idea in the world, but Sable is so dedicated to her bit as a holy mother that she's willing to risk her life once or twice. Plus if there was any chance in making a Ultimate-level into a servant, she figured that she might as well try.
Currently, I'm unsure about how I want to handle Sable's evil alignment. While I don't normally let alignment affect character actions too much, I'm always trying to keep it in the back of my head when writing for this account "Sable is evil, but she's not a villain". And the next character arc I have planned for her, involving Sable and the reuniting of her two definitively good-aligned siblings, is sort of going to throw that exploration on the back-burner for now.
With the theme of "family" in mind, Sable's role is to act as the mother-figure, or big sister for the group. Airi may hold the Digivice, but Sable is most certainly the leader of the army. She may be evil and manipulative, but Sable will look out for the people under her. Sable is a resposible tactician, however malevolent she may be. Thanks to Sarge and BLU-J, she doesn't have to look out for Airi as often, so she's free to be a little more reckless now, and I'm excited for that.
Sarge the Commandramon - I haven't really done anything with Sarge, and I'm not sure what to do just yet. He was a former foot-soldier who may or may not have been ordered to commit war crimes, and he struggles with that past quite a bit. As such, he tends not to be an active participant in combat or in social situations. This was done intentionally to allow myself to focus more on Airi and Sable's dynamic, but I'm wondering if I should change that.
Sarge's role in the theme of "family" is something of a father-figure, or protective older brother to Airi. After his stint with the organization he worked for, he was too ashamed to live in the Digital World, so he bought a holosuit and took the form of a homeless man in the human world. Almost no one paid him any mind which is what he preferred, but even ex-soldier/war criminals get lonely. And there happened to be a little girl about as lonely as he was, and was the only person willing to be kind to him. Sarge doesn't like to fight, or get involved with people in general, but despite Airi's personality and intelligence, he sees her for the lonely little girl that she is and does his best to protect her from the harsh realities of a world full of monsters.
Perhaps later down the line, I'll explore Sarge dealing with the sins of his past, but for now I think I'm just going to keep him in a generic "Airi's bodyguard" role.
Chihaya the Tankmon - I honestly don't have much to do with Chihaya, honestly. I don't even remember much about her personality and history, and only created her because I didn't want to shift the dynamic between Airi and Sable. Sarge and BLU-J are loyal to Airi for the most part, and Airi's the type to outright defy Sable is she needs to, so I wanted an additional Digimon to be on Sable's side. As such, Chihaya is Sable's number one underling and is able to balance out the scales so Team Sable and Team Airi have two Digimon each.
Honestly, I don't want to do much with Chihaya. She's intentionally a flat character, and though I might expand on her at a later date, I don't think that I'm going to do that any time soon. Though I might try to display her "pretending to be too posh for violence" shtick a little more prominently, from time to time, when she's not being the worlds most awful corgi. Chihaya's role in the "family" is the mean older sister that's totally nice around her mother, but bullies her little sister Airi when no one's watching.
BLU-J the Mailbirdramon - Speaking of flat characters, I intentionally made BLU-J be a boring, just-a-bird Digimon because I didn't want to go into too much detail. The focus of the Airi Hirano account is focusing on the dynamic between Airi and Sable, and BLU-J is just kind of there because I wanted the Xros army to have a flying form. It's a little cheap, but I don't have any plans for him.
BLU-J's role in the "family" is the role of the pet bird. Maybe she'll have her one-off adventure where she gets lost or something, but I don't have anything meaningful planned for him.
Azura the Sistermon Ciel - I feel like I can do a little more with Azura and Ivory, though. As Sable's sisters, they're the ones most thought out behind Airi and Sable herself. And Azura was made to be a direct counterpart to Sable. While Sable is manipulative and suspicious of everyone, Azura is straightforward and trusting. Sable's a thinker, while Azura's a doer. Because Azura has always been so confident and reliable, Sable has developed a bit of an inferiority complex around Azura, and now that Azura is in the army and is essentially under Sable's command is something strange for both the Sistermon.
Because of reasons when she joins the army, Azura loses a great deal of her strength, and she has to deal with the new reality that she's not nearly as strong as she once was. She's still confident and strong on the outside, but in the back of her mind is a voice telling her that she'll never be strong enough, so her story arc is quietly regaining her lost confidence while desperately trying to hide her weakness to others.
Azura's role in the "family" is to be the confident older sister, or cool aunt of the group. She's not much of a thinker, but she's always willing to help out both Airi and her sister out of a jam, and try to look cool while doing it.
Ivori the Sistermon Blanc - If there's any reason for Sable to intentionally perform a kind deed, it's because of Ivori. Sable may be evil, but she still loves her family, and there's a strong sense of guilt that she's had to swallow after initially killing the Sistermon Blanc. But Ivori is by no means vengeful, and while she's by no means a tactician or a fighter, she has the virtues of a saint. Sable's entire "holy mother" act is just a played-up imitation of Ivori, as the Sistermon Blanc is just a genuinely kind and loving individual.
Ivori doesn't have any reason to join Sable's Xros army, other than the fact that she wants to reunite with her family, however disturbed it may be now. But even though she's seen Sable's true colors firsthand, she believes her darker sister is capable of so much more good in the world than what Ivori could accomplish by herself. And because Sable kind of owes Ivori for... murdering her, Ivori is looking to channel that to make a positive change in the world.
Ivori's role in the "family" is to be the treasured little sister character. Sable and Azura argue about a lot of things, but both would literally murder someone to protect her. So overall, I have plans for Airi, as well as the relationship between Sable, Azura, and Ivori. I think I'm going to focus in on this account and keep them at the Ultimate level for a while. I look forward to RPing with anyone willing to thread with this dysfunctional family I wrote up!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Posts Nanami Hanabana's Resolutions - The Nanami Hanabana account's general theme is "Idealism in the face of Nihilism", and as such, this account is possibly one of my morbid ones. Nanami is a young girl with a long history of health problems. She's accepted the fact that she's likely going do die very young, and is willing to embrace that fact, even. She's a selfless girl, and because she places no value on her life, she's willing to do reckless things for the sake of others. But I haven't fully decided on whether she's truly going to die young or not.
But what's most important is that Nanami believes it, and she certainly does. However, as much as she's okay with her death, Nanami doesn't want to die before she can live out a full and happy life. Before she met her partners, she thought she was going to die as some middle school or high school girl, where some classmates and parents would read her obituary in the paper in the morning, go "Oh, that's so sad...", and go right on with their breakfast. But Nanami doesn't want to die that way. Nanami has something of a nihilistic outlook on life, but the girl's an optimist nonetheless.
And because she's such an optimist, she wants the entire world to remember her when she dies. So she's intent on living out a grand life of adventure, and connecting with everyone she meets in some meaningful way. She wants to leave every place she visits a better place than when she found it, so the whole world will mourn her when she finally passes on. She thinks it's a little cruel and selfish of her to do so, to want the entire world to grieve and suffer, but she tries to justify this selfishness by being as kind as possible. And it just happens that Nanami's just a naturally kind person.
Nanami's been in a number of threads, and she's certainly been impacted once or twice, but I'm more focused on the future than the past. But let's start with the present!
Right now, Nanami's on an adventure-high. She's ran away from her home in the human world, and taken to a life of exploring the Digital World alongside her partners, Mocha and Cream. Along the way, they've met a Falcomon named Mukuroyukihime, or better known by most as Mu-kun, and let her join their merry band as well.
In the future, Nanami is going to meet a good number of friends for mercs. In the North, she's going to encounter a former pirate captain and his right-hand mon, befriend them, and help them take vengeance upon the one who ended their life of piracy. And then, Nanami will lead her own crew of pirates, gathering a few more mercs along the way.
Mocha the Lopmon - Honestly, I'm not happy with how Mocha's turned out. I've written her exactly as I intended, but I'm just not satisfied with her right now. I feel like she's more of a nuisance in threads than actually providing anything to any particular narrative, and even though it's possible that I'm the only one, I'm honestly sick of writing her that way.
I'd like her to be just a little bit more noble, honestly. So I think for this year, I'm going to set Mocha up in more situations where she has no choice but to do the right thing, or dare I say it - maybe even be nice to someone!
As far as actual character arcs, I think Mocha's coming along nicely, though. She's begun to realize what it's like looking after someone, and has even begun to develop a bit of empathy towards people other than her sister. But I think Mocha's character development is going to be a slow one. Now that she's got a human partner, Mocha has to deal with two realizations. The first is that she's going to become strong, for once in her many lives. She's uncomfortable with that aspect, as she's always balked at stronger Digimon, thinking that they always seemed to use their power to oppress the weaker Digimon. Even though she's a bit of a bully herself, Mocha despises this kind of behavior, and is genuinely afraid that if she becomes too strong she'll use her newfound power to act exactly the same as the people she despises.
And the second realization is that Mocha and Cream's digivolutions have increasingly different forms. This thought has begun to take plant in Mocha's mind, as before she first Digivolved, the fact that she and Cream are two very different people never occurred to her. As such this has fueled her anxieties, wondering that if Cream has noticed this, then maybe they won't be so close anymore. And for someone with as prickly a personality as Mocha, she places a great value on the people close to her. Mocha's greatest fear is that the people she holds dear to her all leave her, and it would be her fault.
Cream the Terriermon - Of the Nanami Hanabana account, I think that Cream is probably my favorite character to write for. She's not the most charismatic person, yet because of Mocha's abrasive personality and Nanami's childishness, she's often forced to be the face of the group. She finds this to be incredibly tiring, and wishes that both Nanami and Mocha would grow the hell up one day.
But because Mocha and Nanami are such personalities, I feel like Cream often gets left in the background. Cream herself doesn't mind being ignored so much, but her writer does, and it's left me feeling conflicted.
Because Cream has spent multiple, but admittedly brief lifetimes trying to mitigate the damage that Mocha can bring to the world, Cream is used to looking after people. As such, looking after Nanami is second-nature to the Terriermon, and because Nanami is capable of empathy, it's almost refreshing for her. Even so, taking care of people doesn't come naturally to her, and she would rather relax by herself instead.
But while Mocha had a couple epiphanies of her own, Cream began to have one herself. Cream had formed her identity around "being Mocha's sister", mostly because she's never been able to be anything else. She honestly resents Mocha occasionally for this, but she's managed to come to terms with it. But ever since meeting Nanami, Mocha had begun to change. The Lopmon was capable of empathy, after all, and was even willing to put aside her own feelings and look after the helpless but good-intentioned human girl.
And Cream doesn't know how to feel about that. After all their lives that they've spent together, not once did Mocha act that way to Cream, and the Terriermon feels hurt by this. As if to Mocha, her existence wasn't important enough to be worth caring about. And it's begun to make Cream question herself. Was her always looking after Mocha... holding her back somehow? Or was this just the effect of having a human partner? Either way, Cream's terrified to find out the answer, and lately has been unable to hold back her hostility towards her sister.
Mukuroyukihime the Falcomon - By far the least developed character in Nanami's group, Mu-kun is a fairly flat character. She's never been in love before, until she met a little girl that was willing to risk her life to protect her. A youngster herself, Mu-kun hasn't been able to properly process these emotions, and has taken to protecting Nanami with a fanatical devotion.
Her ninja training is all she's ever known, and Mu-kun prides herself in her mastery. However, all that mastery does nothing in the face of higher-level Digimon, and Mu-kun isn't certain she can protect Nanami for much longer, as she's begun to face bigger and stronger enemies that Mu-kun would have no chance of defeating on her own. As such, she's begun to question her existence. Combat is the only thing Mu-kun has ever been confident in, but seeing as she's only a Rookie Digimon... is she truly worth having around? As such, she's begun to question her existence in the group.
And when two newer, stronger mercenaries join Nanami's crew, Mu-kun will make her decision. She's not nearly strong enough to protect her Lady Nanami anymore, and she refuses to bring her beloved down. As such, she would rather say goodbye forever than to risk Nanami getting hurt because of Mu-kun's weakness. As such, Mu-kun will go on a journey to become stronger... no matter what the cost!
I'm not sure low much of a future Nanami has, but what she has left I'm definitely planning on being bright!

Post by Honoka Nijimura on Jan 4, 2021 22:11:45 GMT
MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits So to start with, Honoka became a character in the middle of 2020, when I was worried Nanami (due to the antics of a certain Lopmon) wasn't going to be taken seriously as a character. So I wanted to write a character that was far more serious. Nanami's original inception was a twin spirit user of two fairy Digimon, but unfortunately, that wasn't allowed anymore, so I restarted her profile to include her bunny buddies, instead. But I still wanted to use the fairy theme, so I decided to give them to a new character, instead.
Thus Honoka Nijimura was born. She was a serious character - in that she took everything she did as seriously as she possibly could. She's generally an overly-responsible teenager that's a bit of a tryhard, to be honest. And then I proceeded to make her as big of Mary Sue as I possibly could. Dead mom? Check. She's cute, smart, athletic, and musically gifted all in one perfect package? But of course. But then I felt the need to explain her many talents, and that's where the core of Honoka's being came to be.
Honoka was a talented child, and was pushed to greatness by her mother. Honoka just wanted to have fun as a child, but her mother pushed her to develop her many talents as much as she could, much to little Honoka's chagrin. Eventually that resulted in a heated argument during a car ride home, and lead to a car accident that took her mother's life.
As such, Honoka forever blames herself for her mother's death, and the pain her father and three brothers had to endure because of it. Honoka stopped seeing herself as a person at that point. If only she didn't argue so strongly, then maybe her mother would still be...
So Honoka pushed aside her feelings to work as hard as she could to improve herself. At everything she did. All the time. She could rest when she was dead. Until then, she constantly had to better herself. Honoka strives for perfection in everything she does, but nobody's perfect, and she's ultimately doomed to fall short of her expectations, only fueling her desire to better herself once again. As such, the cycle of misery and self-loathing is only bound to continue until Honoka's a shriveled up shell of a human being, truly as worthless as she thinks she is.
And that is Honoka in a nutshell. But what her my plans moving forward with her? Well, I want Honoka's arc to continue on with that cycle until I see reason enough to break it. Will it be at Mega or Super Mega level? I'm not sure, honestly. But for right now, I want break Honoka down emotionally and physically in order to attain whatever goals she has in mind at the time, only to ultimately fail, or succeed at far too high a price.
And as sadistic as it sounds, I'm not intending Honoka's main character arc to just end with her miserable and broken down, however. Eventually I want something to happen for her to overcome her own lack of self-worth. And all the pain and misery that had built up to strengthen herself in the end. But I'm not very picky about how it goes about, either.
Another idea with Honoka I've been flirting with is possibly a romantic option. Unfortunately, I have no way of how to properly going about that. The poor girl would be a terrible girlfriend. She would be constantly nagging at her partner to better themselves, all the while wondering why someone would be remotely interested in a person as worthless, ugly, awful, and horrible as her. If there's a Valentine's event this year, I might throw Honoka in there to see what happens. Though if a romance did happen, I'd rather it happen slowly and naturally, rather than forcing it.
But of course, despite being a Spirit User with no mercs to her account, Honoka's not alone! Well, so long as you don't count hearing voices in your head as "alone".
But Honoka's got the musical trio of fairy spirits, Beauty of Nature! Comprised of Digimon representing the land, sea, and sky, and powers over sunshine, rainbows, and song, the girl who hates herself has a rather intentionally beautiful set of powers!
Lili, her Lillymon Spirit of the Sun-dappled Land, is a little on the ditzy side, and can't ever focus if there happens to be a flower in the room, but her bright and sunny attitude can hopefully influence some of Honoka's more dour moments! She can influence Honoka's attitude just a bit, making her just a bit more positive, and considers herself the leader of the trio. She's a little on the silly side, but she's a guardian by nature, and of nature, and serves as Honoka's main line.
Lulu, her Kazemon Spirit of the Rainbow in the Sky, is a little on the aggressive side, but her boldness might encourage Honoka to take steps forward that she wouldn't otherwise take! Or get her into fights. Probably both. When influencing Honoka, she can make her just a bit more bold and aggressive, but she's rather condescending about it. She likes to act like the cool beauty of the trio, but in reality she's the most emotionally volatile. She serves as Honoka's most aggressive line.
And Lala, her Ranamon Spirit of the Harmony of the Sea, is a gentle, caring soul that just wants to sing. And have Honoka sing. And have everyone around Honoka sing. Because isn't life just better when everyone's singing? For Lala, music is everything, for she's a rather simplistic spirit that sees and hears the world as the beautiful harmony that it is, and tries to see the good in everything. She's unfortunately not very confident about anything other than music as a result though, so when influencing Honoka, she can make her rather bashful when not humming a tune.
I think by the end of her arc, Honoka will be one of my most favorite characters to write for. And I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to her in the meantime, and the people she encounters along the way!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits So in order to describe what I want for Arissa in the future, I should probably talk about how Arissa even came to be.
I had recently created Airi Hirano, the Xros General, and frankly speaking, it was a lot of effort thinking all about all the Xros stuff. And the character before that was Honoka. I love the girl, but thinking about plotlines, and how I'm gonna torture just gets me down in the dumps. So I wanted to create a character that was easy to play. I''ve got my share of anxiety issues, and I'm a little too eager to please others for my liking, but I like to consider myself an easygoing person.
I wanted to make a character that could get along with just about anyone. And somehow, Arissa came to be. She's not an idealistic person. She goes with the flow, perhaps a little more selfish than some people would like, but she's down for just about anything. Plus she's a fairly sexual person, though I keep it muted by the PG-13 rating. I like to think that I restrain myself fairly well on the forum and the discord, but I've got a very... horny sense of humor, to put it plainly. It's just the kind of the places my mind goes. So it's fun to see how many innuendos I can stuff into one thread whereas a character like Nanami or Honoka it would be downright inappropriate.
Arissa's a character I honestly don't have to think very hard about writing, either. She's not a heroine or an antagonist. She's just here to have a good time, meet interesting people, and get high off of life and adventure. She's got her issues, of course, like a bit of a resentment towards the stuffy, controlling types, but she's just happy to be here most of the time.
So she's not a character I had to think very hard about. Probably why Arissa's name is so similar to my username, arissey. I just didn't think very hard about it. She's just a character that comes naturally to me, and stands for what I wish I could stand for. Confidence, willingness to try anything, willing to stand up for herself against just about anything, and not caring about social norms, kicking traditions to the curb just to have a harmlessly pleasurable time.
So this might be the most I've ever had to think about Arissa's character, honestly. Maybe she's my own personal idealized self-insert or whatever, but I don't really care. All my characters are highly idealized aspects of myself. It's probably why I get so attached to them so easily, and why the hell I make so many of them.
I made her partner, Paps, to be a more grounded voice of reason for Arissa, however. Without him, Arissa would likely just fly away like a balloon and never come back, but he's still something of an enabler. He doesn't have the willpower to refuse Arissa, so he tends to go along with whatever Arissa's got planned and tries his damnedest to keep her out of harm's way, even when it seems like she's purposefully trying to get herself hurt. I don't really have a good reason for this, though. I think in the coming year, I'd like to delve a little deeper into Paps's personality. He's not the adventurous type, and he couldn't care less about being a strong Digimon, so I need to find out why he's willing to go along with Arissa on all of her exploits other than the fact that they're partners.
But as for Arissa herself... I don't have too much planned for her. She's fun as a stress-relief character. I'd like to finish up with her Armor Hunts, but thankfully Herald's helping me out with that. I don't have any big plans for her, so I'm not so sure, honestly. With the number of characters I have, I'm not intending on all of them having a full-on epic story from Rookie to Super Mega levels. And I think Arissa is one of those characters who I'm comfortable keeping at around Champion-Ultimate level. She doesn't need to get powerful, because fighting doesn't interest her. She will be the first to say that's she's a lover, not a fighter, and maybe give you a wink if she finds you interesting enough.
So last year I honestly neglected her a little too much for my liking, though. I even archived her for a whole month, when I went through a personal panic and cancelled a bunch of my characters. I managed to see sense since then, but I would like to throw her in more threads. She's perfect for a casual thread where it's just chatting, and she's a forward enough person to take people out of their comfort zones, as well. She's naturally flirty, but she doesn't ever mean anything by it, for better or for worse. I'd like to see how she interacts with the more introverted characters, perhaps get them to open up just a bit, if only for a thread.
And that's all I've felt that I needed to say, but I've got... about 140 words or so left. So... let's fill the rest up with some Arissa facts! Did you know that Mordreid was originally going to be Arissa's partner? But I liked Mordreid so much, and felt that his gimmick was going to overshadow just about any human... I should probably wait for Mordreid's section for the rest of this one... Oh, I can talk about Arissa's Digimentals!
The Digimentals Arissa and Paps use are the Digimentals of Curiosity and Passion. One is to exemplify what Arissa has, and the other exemplifies what Arissa lacks. As the Digimental suggests, Arissa's a very curious person. Not in like, a genius sense, but in the fact that she's just a nosy person. If she doesn't know something, she's shameless enough to just ask someone, and if there's something there that seems interesting, she's selfish enough to go check it out despite the consequences.
And the Digimental of Passion exemplifies what she lacks. She just doesn't really have it. She's an obscenely rich girl with a spoiled upbringing. Her parents did good work teaching her to be empathetic and kind to those who need kindness, but she just doesn't have any drive in her life. She's comfortable being herself, and there's nothing in her life that she feels she needs to do. So maybe I can explore that a little bit in the future, but I'm probably not gonna make any plans. Anywhoo, that's enough about Arissa. WC: 1116

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits Mordreid. Motherfucking Mordreid. I have so many mixed feelings about Mordreid. As I posted earlier in Arissa's bio, Mordreid was supposed to be Arissa's partner, but I made them into separate accounts. Partly because I didn't want his gimmick overshadowing Arissa, partly because if I made him into a solo, I'd have a character of all the classes at the time, so I'd have a "full set", so to speak. Also I wanted a character who was a dude. Gender equality and whatnot.
So for those who don't know, Mordreid has the gimmick of only speaking in lies. That's it. He's a perfectly normal, friendly guy, but he can only speak in lies. As he Digivolves he looks more intimidating and like a evil Digimon, so I thought it would make for some funny misunderstandings. But god was I wrong.
There was so much wrong with Mordreid. After just a single thread with him, and some mock-Rping with Meta over discord, I could tell that I was going to tire of Mordreid quickly. So I set him aside for some more characters. I would work on him later. Or later than that. There was so much to Mordreid that needed for him to function as a character that suited my tastes.
Ultimately he just fell flat, and that's on me. I'm sure a better writer, or one with a different skill set could pull it off, but I didn't want to have Mordreid go into a thread, go "funny misunderstanding lol" and then bounce. Like Arissa, he's a character I honestly didn't put much thought into. And unlike Arissa, it's something I regret.
But that was the past, and it's time for the future. Like I said in an earlier section, my characters are just an exaggerated aspect of myself in one form or another, and for Mordreid, that aspect is my love of lying. It's just fun making harmless lies and getting people to believe silly stuff. It's something I've had to tone down due to being a fucking adult and having responsibilities and shit, but Mordreid was a good way to channel that little arissey that would make up blatant lies just to see if there was someone who would believe me, or at the very least play along.
But if Mordreid had a theme, it would have to be... "The Truth Within the Lies". And that's what I want to focus on. I'm planning on dropping his gimmick only telling lies, or at least expand it. Lies are more than "I did not dent your car door!", and if I want Mordreid to be a trickster proper, then I need to up his game. I don't want his lying to be considered a disability, but something that's natural to him. Lying shouldn't be a necessity for him, but something he actively enjoys. He's can still be friendly and kind, but I want him to have a love of deception despite all that. So maybe he won't necessarily be telling only lies anymore, but everything he says and does is to make you believe something other than reality.
But with Mordreid, I want to explore the values lies have on us as people. Everyone says not to lie to other people, but lies have to have some sort of value to them, right? Of course, there's lying for selfish gain, but there's also lying to avoid pain. Lying to avoid troubling others. Lying to yourself, just so you can get through a miserable time. Because reality sucks sometimes, and it's why so many of us here spend our precious, limited time we have on this planet on an RP forum that likely won't benefit us in any way other than some stress relief, or otherwise let ourselves get consumed by fiction. But maybe I'm a getting a little to philosophical.
But I think one problem with Mordreid is that he was alone. Unless he threads with the same people all the time, then Mordreid will never truly have someone who understands him, which is something he wants more than anything else. I considered giving him a human partner and changing the account's class, but I tend to focus too much on human characters too much as it is, and I'd rather give Mordreid the attention he deserves. At least, the attention I want him to be able to deserve.
But thankfully, thanks to the merc contracts, not even solos have to be alone. So I wanted to create a merc to stand beside the little liar. And she's something of a liar herself, but mostly undergoing an identity crisis. And perhaps the pair could form a kinship with one another and a tight bond.
But first, I gotta make the damned thread and introduce Gwenni, so that's on the top of Mordreid's priority list. No point in making a merc if they never meet. Though I think that would be pretty funny. Maybe I should try that in the future.
But after that, I'd like Mordreid and Gwenni do what I planned for Mordreid initially, hang out with people, have a good time, tell a few tall tales, trick people just for the fun of it. They'll be troublemakers, but they'll be just so adorable about it, hopefully.
I think that Mordreid doesn't need to be very high of a level. But he becomes more of a Dark Knight with each higher level form, so I'd like to get him high up there one day. But it will probably be next year, if I don't can him from now until then. So I think Mordreid will be a character of opportunity. I'm not going to particularly focus in on him, save for him meeting Gwenni and traveling together, but if an opportunity comes up for him to shine, then I'll probably have him jump in if there's a place for him. I think like Arissa, he'll just be a fun stress-relief character once I get all his kinks worked out. WC: 1011

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits So... I should focus on the mechanics of this character first, since this was mostly my focus for this character. This was my first attempt at an all-out Xros General. Wanted to get a whole bunch of partners, so I went with Twins, and wanted to go with maximum numbers. I wanted them to be dragons, because dragons are cool (In actuality, it's because there's a crapton of dino and dragon Digimon, so I figured that it'd be easy to find a good number of forms that I liked. But dragons are all right, I guess).
So I gathered a bunch of Digimon I liked, threw them under a banner, and then realized... Huh. I should attach a personality for these gaggle of bastards! And maybe a bit of a backstory. So... here it was.
A nondescript, but long, long time ago, there existed a powerful dragon Digimon that had its way with the lands he conquered. He didn't rule the land, but he was so powerful he would just do as he pleased. And that dragon Digimon's name was Artoragon. But Artoragon wasn't a completely evil Digimon. He was just too massive of a Digimon, and the world around him was much too small. But the world around him was far too hostile, and he reacted in kind. And his life of struggles went on until one day it became far too great for him. He wanted to be free of this lifestyle. Despite all of his power and fierce combat instincts, he didn't want to fight anymore. He just wanted to live a life of peace. He wanted to try so many things.
So when a Digimon strong enough to oppose him finally appeared, Artoragon just let it happen. He was slain, and his data was so massive that it scattered into thirteen fragments, each one forming their own Digiegg. And from those eggs, came the students of the Shinryuji Xros Dojo.
Oh, and there's this kung-fu chick that's also there, but she's not important. Honestly, if the solo Xros ruling came out before I made this account, I probably would have made Artie and Lan be the focus of this account. And to a degree, they already are. But let's talk about Sakura first, shall we?
Sakura is a young woman, formerly an aspiring martial artist, and a talented one at that. One might even say she's something of a genius. Unfortunately, she lost all of her confidence after freezing up in a real-life fight, and was brutally beaten. She had never truly recovered, and now just tries to live as meekly as possible as a result. But hopefully, with the help of A LOT of new friends, she'll find the confidence she needs once again. She's a fairly level-headed character, and I know what I'm doing with her. I don't have any plans for her, personally, so I'm down for just about anything with threads involving her.
But the partners are the core of the Sakura Shinryuji account, and Artie is at the center of it all. Like I said before, Artoragon split off into thirteen pieces, and Artie was one of the two core memories of that being. Unlike the rest of the group, Artie remembers the pain and solitude of his former life, and doesn't want to repeat it. As such, he wants to avoid a life of combat however possible, and has become something of a harmless flirt as a result. He's a bit of a coward, and he's not really the honorable type that would stand his ground, either.
None of the other fragments really have any memories of the past, so they often mistake Artie for Artoragon himself, giving the Vmon a bit of control over the others. And Artie's not going to let that go to waste, either.
Sadly, Artie lives in the Digital World, where strength is often paramount to survival. So how does one become strong without becoming strong...? Artie has no idea, but he figured that following his new human partner's advice might be the key. The girl is surprisingly strong for a human, yet is meek and yet completely lacks the confidence of someone her strength. Artie decided then that he had something to learn from the girl, so he started calling her "teach" as a result. And the other focus, and the core of Artoragon's memories went to the friendly Guilmon, Lancel. Sadly, they're memories better left forgotten, memories of the atrocious acts Artoragon had to do in order to survive. And thankfully, the poor Guilmon has them repressed. Sadly, this has also affected the red dino's memory in general; with a few exceptions, Lan can't really remember much for very long. The Guilmon is completely dependent on Artie to even function as a person, because he knows he can trust Artie. Is Lan an idiot? Sort of, but it would be easier to say that he's just not playing with a full deck of cards.
Things that are commonplace for most people are foreign concepts to the Guilmon, and he's constantly trying to remember stuff. Thankfully Artie's there to remind him of stuff. And if Artie's around, then Lan doesn't ever have to hurt himself trying to think about stuff. And Lan doesn't like hurting. But not all of the Artoragon fragment are meant to be as serious or depressing as Artie and Lan. Bediver-hakase doesn't have the memory the others have, but he does have Artoragon's curiosity. There was so many things that the large dragon was unable to learn because of his circumstances, but the Agumon Hakase has no such restrictions on himself. He has an insatiable lust for knowledge, and Bedi-hakase has been able to slake it. Incidentally, this has made him something of a genius as a result.
Bedi serves as something of a comic relief character. He's really smart, but he often makes the wrong assumptions about stuff he doesn't understand, like things related to the human world. And if you want the opposite of comic relief, we have the eternal buzzkill Trist the Hackmon. I haven't been able to introduce him yet, but Trist represents Artoragon's moral code. Or at least, the moral code that the massive dragon wished that he could have followed. So Trist moves forward with all the passion and zealous drive of an eager hall monitor. He's not afraid to tell people how to act, even if it means trouble. After all, someone's got to be the responsible one, and Trist trusts no one other than himself to fill that role.
I created Trist to be someone who is able to guide the others in a way. No one wants to piss of the Hackmon because it will mean he'll yell at them for hours on end, and since many of this group can be a bit eccentric, and Artie's not exactly the controlling type, Trist is the one who has to reign them in a bit. And we have the fuzzy little bully, Yvan. Sadly, not all aspects of Artoragon were good, and Yvan is an example of this. The Dorumon loves nothing more than to pick on and antagonize the weak, hunting them slowly and painfully as they struggle to survive. As Trist serves as a responsible foil to Artie, Yvan serves as a companion to the instinct-based Lancel. Even the Guilmon knows that the stuff Yvan does is bad, and the red dino needs a reminder of what he could be like without restraints.
Thankfully, dealing with Yvan's surprisingly easy. He's not that strong, so if you bop him on the nose he'll calm down and maybe even snuggle up to you. Until you show weakness, that is. Next up, we have Artoragon's creativity, Gwayne the Dracomon. He's an artist that's a bit of a snob. He's in search for the perfect inspiration, and will likely never find it. I need to work on him a bit more, tbh. Then we have Pelli, Artoragon's ego. He's an attention seeker that wants to be admired by everyone he meets, so he tries to act as cool as possible. Sadly, the Zubamon has no idea how to act cool, because he's a massive dork. I don't have plans for him, honestly. He just exists because I thought he would be useful because I have so many sword-wielding X2+ mons. And that's it for the mons Sakura currently has approved. Right now, she's still got to go get Trist, Yvan, Gwayne, and Pelli, but I've got that worked out with Bass. Eventually. Having so many characters means a lot of detail needs to go into a lot of characters before I'm satisfied, and I want Sakura to get to Super Mega eventually, but I think I'm going to progress her very slowly. But if anyone's ever interested in a thread with her, be my guest! I'll be down with it!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits Poor, poor Kirara. What turned out to be a fucking joke ended up being an entire fucking character. And I don't know if that makes me awesome for being able to do that, but it honestly makes me sad.
I had been thinking about the viability of a support-based moveset for a while at the time. What would happen if I made a character dedicated to buffing others, and nothing else? And somehow, that idea became Kirara.
Kirara Hoshi the character was made after that. I flirted with the idea of making an ultra-kind character who was supportive of everyone around her, a practical saint character. But instead, I wanted to subvert that a little. What if instead of a benevolent, sweet little girl, I made a spoiled-rotten brat who wants nothing more than to have the center stage in life? And to top it off, not only did she want to be rich, famous, and have all the love and attention the world could offer, but she was entirely unremarkable, too! Sure, she might demand the world's attention, but she has nothing to offer the world in return. And she's not actually willing to put for the effort to develop a skill, either.
...That kind of sounds like a terrible person, doesn't it? Well, Kirara's not. Not really. She's a spoiled brat, sure, and she tends to think of herself before she realizes that other people exist in the world, but she does eventually connect with her empathetic side. And that's where she discovers her true talent. A talent, despite being something that makes Kirara special, is something Kirara find absolutely infuriating. Kirara has the ability to support others. Not just mechanically, but the little girl is a cheerleader by nature.
Which is why I gave her the Cheer element, as far as spirit users. The powers of a cutesy, magical cheerleader is the closest the little girl's going to ever get to being a star, so hopefully she can enjoy it while she has the chance.
Despite her bratty attitude, Kirara is capable of connecting with others, and supporting them in whatever ways they need support. And that's what makes Kirara special. I think, for the future, I want Kirara to be someone who supports character in their time of need.
Kirara has the dream of being an idol, but it's not an integral part of her character. Being an idol, for Kirara, is just her version of an ideal lifestyle. Idols are cute, always shining, and everyone adores them. And Kirara wants people to treat her the same way. But at the end of Kirara's storyline, I don't think Kirara is ever going to end up being an idol. But if it's possible that Kirara could help someone take that center stage, I would be overjoyed. But despite being a spirit-user, Kirara's not alone. For since her account's creation, she's had a merc on her side. And that merc was Sir Patsalot, the holy runaway turned noble knight. As something of a joke character made on top of a stupid character concept, Sir Patsalot attempts to be a chivalrous knight despite not knowing the first thing about chivalry. She just thought one day, "Whoa, knights are cool! I'm going to become one!" And sort of decided from that day forward, that she was going to become a knight. Now replace the word "knight" with "idol", and that might sound a little familiar to you.
That's right, despite claiming to be a mature and chivalrous knight, Patsy is just as dumb and naive as Kirara. But Patsy has the advantage of being a Digimon and knowing a thing or two about the Digital World, so she'll typically be seen as the wiser of the duo. But make no mistake; both Kirara and Patsy are idiots.
But ultimately, Sir Patsalot IS a noble Digimon at heart. She just needs to learn how to get that way, first.
Patsy also has a hang-up on being a holy Digimon, as well. She sees holy Digimon as more than a little stuffy, and white robes and feathery wings are nowhere cool as capes and Chrome Digizoit armor. I've got Patsy's eventual evolution line planned out, and I don't think she'll be very pleased with it. Much to my pleasure. Let's just say that while Patsy may consider herself as a noble knight Digimon in the making, to others she'll likely be seen as the noble steed. So that will be fun to play out.
But overall, I don't regret making this joke account. I'm not planning anything big for Kirara and Sir Patsalot, admittedly, but I don't plan on canning the account, either. I think that there's story for Kirara and Patsy to grow and flourish as people, and I plan on telling their story... sometime in the future. But honestly, if I do focus on them for whatever reason, it will likely be on the same whim that made me want to create this account in the first place. Unfortunately, I've said all I could possibly say about these characters, so I'm just gonna straight-up talk about how they were created. There weren't any cheerleader Digimon that I saw on the wiki, other than Cheergalmon, that one Palmon armor evo that doesn't have an image, so I pretty much had to make my own. And I straight-up ripped off the form from an anime that little arissey saw, Shugo Chara. Fun fact, the same anime Nanami got her faceclaim. As for Kirara's faceclaim, I was thinking about generic "cute girl" character designs for a decent claim, and I suddenly remembered that Bakugan existed. So... I used Runo as the base because her outit is so stupid and ridiculous-looking, yet still somehow a cute design. Which was perfect for Kirara, who in order to stand out throws glitter on herself. And as for the Digimon selection for Sir Patsalot, well... I'm a big fan of Pegasusmon, and I wanted a flying horsie as a merc. And Patamon evolves into Pegasusmon, so... I threw the little bean as a "not" partner for the little spirit user. WC: 1032

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits So... little known fact about arissey... I like cats. They're cute, sassy, and all-around badass motherfuckers that will pick a fight with anyone, then run away whenever someone else stands up to them. It's fucking adorable. And I wanted to have a tamer with kitties. That's literally the only reason Reiko exists.
Well, that, and I wanted an adult character. I want to try and thread with as many people as possible here at DFRP, and was thinking that it might be possible that there might be people a little turned off by the fact that all my other characters were little girls or pathological liar solo Digimon. So... the kitties came first, then I started making the human partner.
For Reiko herself, I wanted someone that was kind of an enabler. Someone who wouldn't try to control her Digimon too much, so it wouldn't be too out of character for her to just stand aside while her partners do crazy kitty antics. But other than that, I had little personality attached to her. However... that wasn't necessarily good enough for me. So I tried to reach down deep and try to pull out some sort of way for me to care more about Reiko herself, and I managed to come out with something.
But before talk about Reiko's ideals and beliefs, we're gonna need to talk about Reiko's mother, Midori. When Midori Suzuki was but a young woman, she immigrated from Japan to Los Angeles, California in the hopes of becoming a movie star. Sadly, that dream never came true for her. After a number of circumstances, Midori had a baby girl, Claire, and focused fully on supporting her child. However, Midori herself was not fit to be a mother, emotionally or physically, and eventually Claire was put into foster care. And growing up, Claire had her issues, but never hated her mother for it. When Claire became an adult, she and her mother became friends, and eventually she decided to give acting a shot.
And unlike her mother, Claire obtained a modicum of success. She never became a big star or anything, but she managed to obtain a comfortable living for herself. In the end, Claire Thompson, who was credited as Reiko Suzuki, was ultimately a success story, and Claire was happy to share that success with her mother.
But Midori had a tough life, and it ultimately caught up with her. She passed on long before her time, and it left Claire feeling hollow inside. Her mother was her best friend, and she was now gone. And she had an identity crisis. She was already going by Reiko Suzuki now, but did she even want to act anymore, now that her mother was gone? And she had always heard of her mother's homeland, so the young woman decided to make a financially foolish decision, and uproot her life to Tokyo. The acting scene wasn't nearly as big there, but she figured that she would still try to act in the meantime. It wasn't like she knew how to do anything else, and she still needed to learn more about herself in the meantime.
So while Reiko's partners don't exactly have a theme other than, "being cats", Reiko's ultimate theme is one of "Identity". She needs to figure out who she is as a person, now that what she thought connected her to this world was gone. So for this year, I'd like Reiko so explore just that. She won't necessarily find an answer, if there even is one out there, but I'd like Reiko to meet some fairly introspective people, and perhaps find out just a little bit more about who she is.
But Reiko's not alone in this. This is a Digimon forum, after all, and one of her partners is a BlackGatomon by the name of Pepper. She's the responsible twin, the one that keeps she and her sister out of trouble. While that might not seem very catlike, and she's a very civil person if you talk to her, she still has her cat-like instincts and will more often than not give in to them, much to her own personal sense of shame.
But she's a kind-hearted Digimon who genuinely wants to get along with others around her, and does her best to facilitate her sister and partner to the denizens of the Digital World. Reiko isn't the type to go out of her way and make friends, and the rest of the world exists solely to appease her sister's whims, so it's up to Pepper to smooth everyone's quirks out to enable a friendly environment wherever they go. And while the beginning will be fairly rocky for the trio, eventually they'll learn to rely on Pepper's skills, and things may look up for the BlackGatomon for a little while.
But she's still a Digimon, and BlackGatomon has a wild side hidden within her that's going to be unlocked sooner or later. And while it might not be immediate, people may find that Pepper doesn't have everything as under control as she likes. And finally, we have Snowflake the Gatomon to even things out. Snowflake is capricious, flighty, and downright vindictive at times, as she generally does her best to establish her dominance and make sure the rest of the world is there to provide service to her. She's not a particularly kind Digimon... just yet.
For even the kitty of kitties needs to have a character arc, and eventually she's going to tap into that more angelic version of herself. So while Pepper may get just a bit more feral and bestial as time goes on, Snowflake will become just a bit more benevolent and - dare I say it - soft. And that's it for the the Reiko Suzuki account. Oddly enough, the character I thought the least about ended up being the deepest. But that's just my personal bias, really. It's a lot easier for me to write human characters, I guess.

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits So a while back I remember reading about some mythological two-headed creature. They didn't get along with each other, and eventually one of the heads killed the other, and then both died as a result. I thought to myself, "Hey, I want my next pair of twins to be like that!", so I set off on creating another twin tamer. Except I realized that I hadn't made a twin spirit user yet, and once I got to thinking, I realized that the concept could work just a bit better if I used spirits, instead.
So for Kanae and Yuichi, their spirits are literally based off of that mythological being - I don't remember what it's called, and I'm too lazy to look it up for the purposes of this MPC. I'm only here for the money, after all! One spirit was a being of light, and the other a being of shadow. The shadow being grew jealous of the light being's... radiance, I suppose you could say, and killed her as a result. However, a shadow cannot exist without light, and that shadow spirit perished as well. Now, in the mythology it's based off of, the surviving head realized the error of its ways shortly before dying, and reached enlightenment, but that wouldn't be any fun for our spirits, would it?
So their feelings of animosity survived, and eventually formed into Pearlamon, the Spirit of Light, and Obsidimon, the Spirit of Darkness. But a spirit is nothing without a human to properly wield it. And eventually the day would come when those spirits would find refuge in a pair of human childen, each with their own issues. And those children don't give a damn about their spirit's issues with one another, because they would rather use it for their own purposed. Because the theme of the Kanae & Yuichi account is "Rebellion". Kanae Asumi is your everyday 10-year-old girl. Maybe a little more spoiled than most, she doesn't have any particularly strange habits or hobbies. She's just a normal girl who wants to have a normal life. Except that recently, she found out that her life wasn't nearly as normal as it seemed. For she recently discovered that her father, a businessman and a family man, was actually a leader of a yakuza clan. And Kanae wasn't sure what she hated most about this; the fact that she didn't find out until now, or the fact that her father was a criminal who probably did a lot of bad things to people who didn't deserve it.
Hell, even the boy that was one of her only friends, Yuichi, was aware of it, and in fact, was only Kanae's friend because it was his job to be her bodyguard. And when she confronted him about it, he was glad to tell her exactly what he thought of her.
So Kanae felt trapped. And she needed to seek an escape in her life. And little did she know, she would find that solace in the Digital World.
But as for Kanae's plans for the future, the only goals I have for her is to get stronger as a person. Ultimately, Kanae's a weak person. It's hard for her to stand up to people, and she's only a ten-year-old child. She's not particularly strong, smart, or talented. She's spoiled and used to getting her way, so she's never had to fight for something before in her life. Until now. So even though Kanae now possesses the fraction of a Spirit of Light, she needs to develop the emotional strength to even be able to stand up to the hardships ahead of her. For even if she doesn't care about the struggles of her own spirit, the fact that Yuichi opposes her freedom remains.
Kanae feels a bit of pity for Yuichi, because she understands that his life isn't the greatest. But the boy still goes out of control, and whatever pity she has for him goes out the window whenever he gets violent. Yuichi is the first person willing to physically assault the little girl, and he's become something of a mental roadblock to her ever since. So Kanae's journey is one of overcoming that fear, and imposing presence, and finding a way to coexist with it somehow. And as for Yuichi Maeda... well... he's an interesting experiment. To be honest, I'm not confident in writing boys, so I try to write in as much toxic masculinity an eleven-year-old boy could possibly have. He looks down on Kanae because she's a weak girl, and he vents all of the pain and suffering he's had to endure through means of picking on the weak.
Yuichi may not be related by Kanae, but according to the laws of a Asumi clan, they're technically related. His father is Kanae's father's right-hand man, so much that Yuichi's father essentially assigned the boy from birth to be the little girl's companion. Despite being a year older, Yuichi was held back a year just to be in the same class as Kanae. He was raised to protect Kanae, and had the strength to do so beaten into him. As well as other things.
Having Yuichi be a victim of abuse is something I sometimes find troubling to handle delicately. As someone who hasn't had it easy not getting abused once or twice, thinking about Yuichi can make me uncomfortable at times. But I wanted something to justify why Yuichi is an abusive jerk himself. But he's still only eleven-years-old, and I don't think he has to stay that way. I don't want him to change and become this heroic, chivalrous character or anything, though. I want him to be one of my most scummiest characters, but I want him to fight through his struggles. To face punishment for his misdeeds.
I don't think Yuichi will ever stop being a stubborn jackass, but I think that maybe, after gaining some power, learning how to handle that power responsibly, he can be at least considered a semi-decent person. Because I strongly believe that being an abuse victim doesn't have to define who you are. WC: 1030

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits But since the last one was a bit of a downer, let's talk about someone a little more upbeat! That's right, we're talking about my favorite peppy girl, Miki Tatsumi! And how she uses the concept of going on an adventure to overcome the loss of her dead parents!
...
Wow. I'm really bad at this positivity thing, aren't I? Welp, yeah, that's the big spoiler for Miki. But let's take a step back and start from the beginning.
Miki Tatsumi's parents were quite wealthy, and used their copious amounts of money to travel the world. They were something of thrill-seekers, and having a daughter wasn't going to completely end that habit of theirs. So they'd leave Miki with the little girl's aunt and uncle for long periods of time while they went off on their various escapades. And they'd come back and share these fantastical stories with a young Miki!
...But one day, they didn't come back. No one had ever found their bodies, but they had seemingly disappeared. Miki had never spoken to them ever again. For a while, the girl held hope, that her parents were caught up in some government plot and were going to come back to her any day now.... but once she got into junior high she began to lose hope. But Miki wasn't going to allow that to overwhelm her.
Because Miki was her parents's daughter, and she wanted to broaden her horizons as well. And while her uncle most definitely disapproved of any lifestyle of the sort, there really wasn't anything he could do about it once Miki became an adult. So she decided to spend the remainder of her teenage years preparing for that day. Her parents were dead, she knew that in her heart, but that didn't mean that their adventurous spirit had to die as well!
But deeper down still, there was the real reason that Miki wanted to be an adventurer. Something she doesn't quite realize herself. While Miki loves and respects her deceased parents, she also despises them for abandoning her. Because if they just stayed home and spent time with their daughter, then they would still be alive today! And Miki needs to see for herself why they left Miki behind all those times. Maybe if she can find a fulfilling life being an adventurer, then she can understand more about her parents. And how they chose a life of adventuring over a life of being Miki's parents.
And that's Miki in a nutshell. She's a peppy ball of energy that's always rarin' to go off to see the next horizon, but deep down there's some abandonment issues she needs to deal with. Is going off on adventures in the Digital World the best way to do this? Probably not, but it's the only way she has at the moment! But Miki's not alone in her travels! Miki has her own Digimon partner, Gomamon! Unlike Miki's complicated issues, Gomamon is surprisingly simple - he's a marine Digimon who spent his entire life in the ocean, and seeks to explore the mainland of the Digital World. His interests happen to align with Miki, and almost as if it were destiny, the two became partners.
Gomamon doesn't have a tragic backstory, other than being perhaps a little too lonely for most of his life. But he's a friendly enough fellow that's always willing to make another friend, fishie or otherwise. He has a sense of optimism that borders on sheer lunacy, and he's far too trusting of everyone he meets. He prefers not to fight if he can avoid it, but he's still a Digimon, and combat's in his blood. And he has a lot of fishie friends to support him in battle.
Gomamon doesn't fully understand everything about the Digital World, so he can't serve as an adequate guide for Miki, but together the pair can broaden their horizons together. And when Miki meets her lowest, darkest points, Gomamon will always be there with his sunny smile and a pat on the back. And of course, when Miki's in danger, he'll be more than willing to become an even stronger Digimon to protect her. He's an optimist and a pacifist, but nothing's more intimidating than when a Gomamon goes to war.
Moving forward, I would like to use Miki and Gomamon relatively sparingly. They're not really a focus for me right now, and while I don't have concrete plans for them, I think I'll throw them in the occasional thread or two whenever I think it suits them. Honestly, Miki is a little too similar to Nanami for my own comfort, so I have a hard time justifying using Miki when Nanami would also suffice. They're both upbeat girls with a hint of dark undertones, an the main difference between them is their partners. While Nanami has the boisterous and obnoxious Mocha and the quiet and solitary Cream, Miki has the friendly, sociable Gomamon.
When it comes to writing characters on this forum, however, I'm a very human-centric writer. It's likely why I have so few solo Digimon characters as opposed to tamers, spirits users, and even xros generals. So while I could always use Gomamon to differentiate between Miki and Nanami, I'd like to further explore Miki in the future so she can be her own person and not be so similar to my favorite character to write for. Because even if diet-Nanami is still pleasing to me, it's still inferior to the original. But until then, like I'd mentioned previously, I'd like to use Miki and Gomamon less often. It's nothing personal to them; I'm sure I'll get something to work out for them eventually, but I've got a lot of characters to account for, and so little time. That said, I hope you don't mind my blasphemy of using a Pokemon faceclaim on a Digimon Roleplay Forum. Hopefully, you'll all be willing to reach deep down into your hearts and forgive me. Even so, May's cute, so I'm not apologizing. WC: 1013

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits For a lot of my characters, there's often a kind of story I want to tell. Often they'll have their own issues to overcome in order for them to grow as people and feel content. Nanami, for example, I wanted to tell a story about a girl overcoming her growing sense of nihilism through sheer positivity and holding on dear to the things she's grown to love. And for Honoka, it's overcoming her own lack of self-worth, and learning to forgive herself for acts beyond her control.
But creating Misaki... I wanted a blank slate. Misaki is very much a character that doesn't have any particular ambitions, she's not particularly passionate about anything, and she's often just someone who's along for the ride. I don't have some sort of grand story for Misaki to tell. She's just... kind of there. A quiet presence, who hopefully by her actions will make herself heard.
Misaki is effectively mute, and despite her disability, she tries her best not to let it hamper forming relationships with the people around her. During her childhood, she allowed herself to shy away from others, using her disability as an excuse to meet new people and let herself be vulnerable around others. But the closer she got to adulthood, the stronger and braver she became. She was willing to make herself look like a bit of a fool at times, and while she didn't have a voice, she learned to make herself heard.
Even so, Misaki still takes pride in being a quiet girl, and still likes to sneak around. Chances are, she'll sneak around for as long as she can, if only because she can. She's a playful sort that prefers not to take things too seriously, and I'd like to express that in later threads.
However, ultimately, I wanted to challenge myself as a writer without coming up with a gimmick like I did for Mordreid. So I thought long and hard, and then just kind of gave up and wrote Misaki. Though I tried to fill in the little details about her as much as I could, using them to further flesh our her character. For example, making Misaki a model. Someone who puts their body on display, and is designed to be seen and admired as a result. Maybe she's in an industry where she's supposed to be seen and not heard, but Misaki has no issue with that.
However, her job also represents her newfound boldness. She's no longer ashamed to be seen. She doesn't mind the attention any more. She may not actively seek it out, but she wants the world to know who she is, rather than quietly slink away into the background.
But ultimately, that's just her starting point. Misaki is brave, and isn't scared to stand up to adversity of any kind. But therein lies the issue. Just because you're willing to stand up and face your problems, doesn't mean that you're able to overcome them. And while confidence is a virtue that many people lack, overconfidence is its own form of blunder. MIsaki isn't scared to stand up to someone anymore, but she's going to find herself in battles that she can't win. She's going to put herself into situations that she can't escape from, and she sure as hell can't talk her way out of. And therein lies Misaki's journey. Misaki's journey is an introspective one of understanding her limits, because just because she was more capable than she initially assumed doesn't mean that she lacks limits.
As far as Misaki's spirit goes, I don't have anything planned for it at the moment. All she had access to right now is her Sprite Spirit, a Lucemon child form by the name of Void. And I haven't quite pinned down what I want to do as for Misaki and Void's relationship to be. Like Misaki, I don't want to directly have Void communicate using words, instead using simple gestures to get its point across.
As to how Void became a spirit in the first place... I'm still working on that part, too. Essentially the whole line is about dampening the effects of others, be it their damage or defenses, but for what reason I'm not sure. Is there some sort of foe that Void was meant to contain? Or was Void considered a threat by some powerful entity and was killed for it? Or was Void just some dangerous, all-consuming monstrosity before being killed and becoming a spirit? There are all ideas that I've considered, but I haven't quite landed on one just yet. For Misaki, I'm in no rush to progress her very far, so I'm not worrying about it just yet. I haven't put too much thought into Misaki right now, so I don't see any reason to start now.
And that's all I have to say for Misaki, sadly. She's not a character I put too much thought into, but it doesn't make her any less valid. So... let's talk about some Misaki facts before I wrap this all up!
Misaki's disability is (very) loosely based off my own difficulties speaking. I've had silent blocks in casual conversation for as long as I can remember, and I often shied away from having verbal conversations when I was much younger. I'm much better about it now, but even to this day I sometimes need someone to take over for me when answering the phone at work.
Misaki's Spirit Element may be "Void", but I went for a consistent theme of feathered-Digimon for a reason. Feathers a soft and fragile, and when one falls it doesn't seem to make a sound. And yet when utilized properly feathers allow creatures the freedom to fly wherever they want. I thought that this was pretty fitting for Misaki. Plus, feather's look good for accessorizing, which was just a bonus.
Anyways, that's Misaki for you. She's not too terribly well-thought out, but I think that she's someone that I'm going to enjoy playing as. I only hope that others will be able to have the same amount of enjoyment threading with her!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Posts Eleven characters in, and I realized something. Mocha may be antagonistic, but she's more sassy than violent. Honoka can be a bit of a muscle-head at times, but she's ultimately a pacifist. Sable may be evil, but she's more along the lines of a schemer than a fighter. Mordreid's intimidating, but he's a sweetheart. Sakura's a martial-artist, but she's a little too timid to go around picking fights. Yuichi's fairly aggressive, but the other half of his account is more than willing to hold him back. I don't have a single character who actively wants to fight. Mostly because I'm not too comfortable with the combat system on DFRP just yet, but if I don't actively look for fights, then I'm never going to get comfortable with it, or at the very least decide that combat's just not really for me, am I?
So I decided to create Tsubaki. She's someone who's more than willing to kick some ass of someone she deems "a dickbag". She's vulgar, a bit heavy-handed, and more than willing to go to extremes to confront someone, I wanted Tsubaki to be a character who punches first, and not even bother thinking about asking questions.
So for such an aggressive and violent girl, I naturally decided to make her a tamer instead of a spirit user. Because if Tsubaki was powerful on her own, I felt it would have defeated the whole point of the girl's journey.
Tsubaki isn't afraid of taking a lick or two. She understands that everything has consequences, and she's more than willing to face the consequences for acting however she pleases. But more importantly, Tsubaki takes it upon herself to BE the consequence whenever she sees something she deems as unjust. But Tsubaki's only one teenage girl, and no matter how good she is at taking a beating, she has her limits. Throw in an entire Digital World full of fire-breathing dinosaurs, and Tsubaki's high tolerance for pain means absolutely nothing. Making her a spirit user felt like a cop-out that would defeat the purpose of her understanding her limits.
But not if she's not alone. Not if through it all she remains just a teenage girl with a high tolerance for pain. And that was when you enter Constance St. Bernard. Name pun aside, Connie is meant to be taken as a serious character, even though it's not surprising if people take him as a joke. He's a Strabimon that has a strong heart for justice. And unfortunately, he lacks the strength and capacity to do so alone. He's the type to focus on a tree and ignore the forest around him, and when he steps in to lend his assistance, if left to his own devices, he can often be a bigger nuisance than an actual boon. Unlike Tsubaki, Connie believes that so long as his heart is just and his virtues pure, he can and will get through any ordeal so long as he remains vigilant enough. And that naivete has cost him dearly in many of his previous lives.
So in a sense, Tsubaki and Connie complete each other. Both lack the power on their own, but together, the pair can become stronger and enforce their sense of justice and right whatever wrongs they can in the world. Connie will get stronger thanks to Tsubaki's strength of heart, and with the girl's guidance, the Digimon will be able to see more than just blind justice.
But I felt that it would be an INJUSTICE to Tsubaki if all the girl did was stand on the sidelines and cheer her Digimon on. So I wanted to think up a way to let her function in combat. But I didn't want to rock the boat and get nerfed by the graders by trying to buff Connie for having Tsubaki close by, so I went the opposite route - Connie's Digivolved forms are tied directly to Tsubaki's digisoul, and unless Tsubaki is in direct contact with her partner, then Connie can't remain Digivolved for very long. In other words, I intentionally put a restriction on the poor doggo. Of course I gave him an ability to help protect Tsubaki so she doesn't get murdered in combat, but with this, Tsubaki could feel like she's doing something. And maybe later on down the line I'll give Connie some abilities that are flavored as Tsubaki using her Digisoul to attack the enemy in creative ways or something.
But as for what I have for Tsubaki and Constance St. Bernard, that one is surprisingly simple. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. For the time being, Tsubaki and Connie are just going to wander around, maybe fight a baddie or two, and meet new people later on down the line. And I think I'd also like to have Tsubaki and Connie join a team, one that's aligned with beating up back guys and the like. Or maybe they'll stick it out solo and just become wandering badasses in their own right.
Though I think I might get them involved in For Glory threads, if only to get a little more experience doing the combats. I pride myself on my theorycrafting for these kinds of games and stuff, but the fact still remains that I can grade all the edits and profiles that I want, but everything I grade is technically only theory until I test it out all on my own.
So... that's what I want to do with Tsubaki and Connie, really. Feel free to contact me on the discord if you wanna thread with them, though if you're the not-nice sort, expect a punch in the face and an eccentric doggo mouthing off about how much J U S T I C E he's gonna enforce on your ass. And if you ever need someone to help you with dealing with a bad guy, this angry girl and justice-loving doggy boi will be more than willing to lend you a hand!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits I'm gonna be honest, Yuna was a character I've been wanting to make for a long time, but I've never really been sure I can pull her story off in the context of this forum. Most of the characters that I write are introspective in nature. There's no external antagonist that they need to deal with, and there's no grand scheme going on in the background. And for the most part, I've always been fine with that. My strengths are in internal writing, about creating a well-rounded character based upon their various attributes. And then I use that well-rounded character to interact with my environments. In fact, it's often why when I'm in a thread, I'm always glad to let my thread partners drive the plot forward. Because while I feel that I'm good in writing compelling characters, I struggle with the actual narrative aspect of storytelling. I don't think I've ever been good at world-building, and that has always been something that I've struggled with.
Which is why for Yuna, I wanted to create an external environment for her. Because while Yuna most certainly has her issues deep inside her, it's her environment that's going to cause the most of her troubles and hardships.
But let's talk about Yuna herself for a bit. Growing up she was a goodie two shoes that got good grades, and all around the real class president type. She was responsible, earnest, and a diligent student. However once she hit puberty and developed an interest in men, the little girl fell hard and fast and became a delinquent. She was having the time of her life, having so much more fun than when she was an honor student, so why should she ever go back to that life? However, that life wasn't meant to last, and soon Yuna found herself alone, and the people in her life that she pushed away unwilling to take her back.
And in her deepest pit of despair, Yuna Aikawa fell into a cult. A man, while clearly a westerner in appearance, going by the name Shunsuke Tsujihara. And while Yuna was skeptical of Shunsuke's beliefs and practices, she wasn't so skeptical of his kindness and generosity. He allowed her to live in his religious complex, housed her, fed her, and gave her everything she needed to get her life back on track. And didn't seem remotely interested in taking advantage of her. So while she isn't a true believer of his ideals, she still is a supporter of the Shunsuke Tsujihara, the man.
...But little does she know that this Shunsuke Tsujihara is, in fact, a foreigner. And much more foreign than she could ever imagine. For Shunsuke is a disguised Digimon. And he's got plans of his own.
Shunsuke isn't an evil Digimon, but he does believe himself to be something of a savior. He sees visions of people, often children or young adults, and sees the threads of fate tie them with that of the Digital World's. Shunsuke doesn't particularly trust humans other than the ones destined to be tamers, spirit users, and xros generals, so he's not interested in bringing forth the existence of Digimon to light. However, having your fate intertwined with that of the Digital World can be strenuous and he wants to help facilitate their growth to become as strong as possible. For he believes that the Digital World could be in crisis at any moment, and it's the duty of the humans connected with the Digital World to stop it. Shunsuke isn't a particularly strong Digimon, but he has quite a few tricks up is sleeve. Being a holy Digimon, he uses his abilities to heal the sick and disabled, performing miracles on the down-low for profit to amass an institution capable of raising and developing these humans. Because when you've been destined to protect the Digital World, your life in the human world is inconsequential. School, work, family, friends... they're all distractions when have such a noble mission in life. And it's his job to help guide these lost humans to their grand destinies.
Unfortunately, Shunsuke has some... old-fashioned views. He despises virus-attribute Digimon with a passion, and sees them as potential sources of danger for the Digital World. So when the first child that Shunsuke guides is the Digimon by the name of Mayonaka, he's somewhat questioning of the pair's worth.
Because Mayonaka is the virusiest of virus Digimon - crude, uncaring, and all-around willing to cause chaos. But even she has her sense of honor, and when she promised a dying friend that she would find someone, she left her home in order to find them. It didn't matter if the person she set out to find was in the human world now, and that Mayo didn't know the first thing about that world. She was gonna fulfill her promise and then bounce. Except... once she got to the human world... she didn't know where she should start looking. Which led her to meeting a young woman by the name of Yuna. Which led to them becoming partners. And now Mayo is confused as to why she's even here in the first place. It's not like Yuna can help her very well, and that weird landlord of his gives her the heebie-jeebies.
So it's rather difficult for the pair to get along. Yuna is an honest and straight-forward person always willing to help someone in need for no other reason than it's the right thing to do. While Mayo would rather leave that person in need to fend for themselves because in her mind, it's survival of the fittest. It's going to lead to some complications in the future, especially once Mayo realizes her greatest source of strength comes from the weak creature that opposes her entire outlook on life.
But that's my plans for Yuna in the future. I'd like to give this kind of plotline a try, but I've always been hesitant on pulling something like this off. So if anyone could give me advice or just wants to thread with her, please feel free to contact me!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits So I have Nanami - a teenager that acts like a little girl acting like a grown-up. I have Airi - a little girl that acts like a grown-up. I have Kanae and Yuichi - little kids that are trying to tackle problems way out of their league. I have a lot of kiddie characters, and maybe it's because I'm emotionally stunted or some shit, but it's what I like to play. No judging.
But in the end, I wanted a little girl that acted like a little girl. Simplistic. Not necessarily stupid, though this character isn't exactly the brightest one out there, admittedly, but just a simple little girl that certainly has her issues, but just wants to play around and make friends, and not be going through some existential crisis for once. And that's why I created Ermangarde Lucille Caulfield. But just call her Elly.
Elly's an American who sadly doesn't speak or understand much Japanese, and suffers a great deal because of it. She can't make friends, she doesn't understand her schoolwork, and naturally her father doesn't pay her the time of day. As I stated earlier, Elly just wants to make friends and have fun. She has her quirks, like her inability to physically express her emotions, causing her to give out something of a death glare whenever she's feeling pressured, and that despite the fact that she just wants to be less lonely, she's incredibly shy and probably wouldn't be able to strike up a conversation very well even she could communicate with you.
Elly's a girl who's scared of way too many things, and the only way she can communicate with people she can't understand is through gaming. And despite being only seven-years-old, she's got mad skills in fps games and other shooters. Hell, give her a stool to stand on, and she might as well wear a "Get Smoked" cap on when at the arcade - assuming she can find the courage to go to such a crowded place.
But Elly is a twin tamer, and who are her partners? Someone just as shy as she is, people who are patient and understanding and will slowly but surely help the little girl come out of her shell and help her learn to deal with others and teach her that it's okay to be scared and nervous, so long as you just try to move forward just a single step each day?
Nope!
She's stuck with a Shoutmon and a fucking turtle!
DJ and Mic, also known worldwide (not really) as the entertainment duo "Tha Boyz!", are a pair of young rookies looking to entertain the world? Which one? Yes! Everyone! Does that make sense? Not at all, but neither do these two!
For starters, these two can't really agree on much of anything. DJ is all about the art of the performance. Of course he wants people to laugh, but not if it means going off script. Because for DJ the Kamemon, it's all about the integrity of the show. DJ's not the most charismatic person in the world, but he believes that with the right performance, anyone could be capable of making a name for themselves.
And when you have a reckless idiot like Mic as your twin brother, your dream of having the perfect performance goes right out the window once the cyborg dragon jumps onto the stage. But thankfully for DJ, most things don't bother him. He used to be an anxiety-ridden cyborg turtle, but he read a self-help book that really put things into perspective. So even when things go wrong - which they always seem to do for some strange reason, DJ the Kamemon is able to shrug it off and try again for the next performance.
But for Mic the Shoutmon, things are about the opposite. For perspective's sake, Mic read the same self-help book that DJ did, thought to himself "Wow... I could write a book a hundred times better than this one!" and proceeded to write a book what was mostly just ramblings about how awesome he is (This book can be purchased in audiobook form on the Tamernet for about 1300 bits. It's currently rated 1 and 1/2 stars, and is narrated, of course, by the author).
For Mic, the performance doesn't matter so much as the audience's reaction. So the Shoutmon is willing to change things up a little when he feels like he needs to. And while Mic's able to think on the fly and go with the flow, he often forgets that his brother isn't capable of doing the same, and their performances tend to flop. But Shoutmon never blames his brother, though. And he won't ever do a performance without him, because it won't ever be the same.
Mic tends to give out that "main character" vibe with his attitude and demeanor, but in reality, he's a supporting player. He loves the spotlight, but isn't afraid to shine it on someone or some cause that needs it more, or jump out of it to help someone in need.
So how would threading work with Elly, Mic, and DJ? Well... Elly would be shy, DJ would be quiet, and Mic would likely try and goof off to try and get everyone to laugh.
As for plans for the future, there aren't a whole lot at the moment. In fact, they haven't even jumped into a single thread just yet. But one day they're going to get their opportunity, and when that day comes, I'm going to do my best to bring laughter both IC and OOC, or at the very least, dad jokes that can cause people to audibly groan. Because that's how I get my laughs, dammit!
So while it seems like Mic the Shoutmon is likely to steal the show, I'd like to think that I can write it so Elly and DJ can get their share of the spotlight as well. Elly I'm not too concerned about, being an adorable little girl and all, but I am a little worried about DJ. I'd rather not have a Cream 2.0 on my hands. But if it happens, it happens. It just means one more character to develop later on!

MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot Reward Requested: Bits I think I work best when writing humans. I just can't always get into the mindset of solo Digimon for some reason, and I'm always impressed when I see people on the site with mostly solo mons. Realistically, writing a solo mon shouldn't be that different than writing up a human character, but I always find myself second-guessing every choice I make for the character. "Would a Digimon be able to understand that reference? Is this really how a Digimon would act in this situation? What exactly would a Digimon say in this exact situation?"
So with that in mind, I wanted to create a Digimon with the opposite mentality. Hence, Kokabuterimon, or known simply as Koka, is a Digimon that's been living in the human world for some time. He used to despise all humans, but after reformatting he learned to develop a particular fondness for humans and their culture. So... Koka decided to stay. He formed his own identity there, essentially living in his holosuited form as Kazuki Kosei, a humble construction worker.
For while only a couple years passed in the human world, over a decade passed in the Digital World. Time enough for his old friends... Or rather, fellow terrorists, to amass a small degree of power.
But unlike when Koka was around, they weren't about harassing humans who came to the Digital World anymore. And they didn't want to attack the human world, either. If they tried any form of common terrorism, they'd be shot down and punished by the multitude of heroic groups of characters on this board, or get wiped out entirely by a group like DATS. But what if they were put in a situation where those same tamers and DATS were the villians?
Like Yuna, Koka's story was meant to be a more external one. And it's one I thought up while listening in to the multiple debates about the sensitive topic about Digimon going public on the forum. Personally, I don't have a stake in that argument. Honestly, I don't see the point in changing the status quo, but I'm fine if ever happens. But it made me think about something... what if Digimon did begin to influence the human world?
Think about what the Digital World has to offer, in a narrative sense. They have prosthetic limbs an amputee would kill to possess. Holographic technology. Portals that allow you to go anywhere in Shibuya. EV suits, infini-stores, anti-Grav devices... these are all items that would make life so much more convenient for the common masses, and these are just the ones that are non-lethal!
And that's not even mentioning the abilities of Digimon themselves. Imagine a tsunami heading towards Japan only to be stopped by a single Digimon. For while only a couple years passed in the human world, over a decade passed in the Digital World. Terminally-ill hospital patients being miraculously cured overnight. Barren wastelands becoming fertile once more.
Until one day, strange-looking beings appear before the mass media. They introduce themselves as Digimon, and proclaim that the issues that plague human society on daily basis are naught but a triviality to them. Digimon are more than just Digital beings - they are gods, and now that they've revealed their existence, they now walk among them.
It's the kindest act of terrorism in existence. With their benevolent displays of power, those Digimon could effectively conquer an entire world without having to fight a single battle, and everyone who's suffering in the world, every person that human society has ever let down, would gladly let them.
That's the plan of Koka's old comrades. Tear down the current establishment through the cruelest acts of kindness. But ultimately, Koka wants nothing to do with that. Koka is just a big ol' bug disguised as a human that wants to live his life as peacefully and quietly as possible. And Digimon making themselves known to the world wouldn't exactly align with his interests. So he'd naturally want to oppose his old comrades. He would question whether it would be the right thing to do on occasion, but Koka's a simple folk who believes status quos exist for a reason. Because if the humans learned about what Digimon could really do to them, then there'd be a whole different reception to their existence. And Koka doesn't want that to happen, either.
So Koka is left with this turmoil of dealing with his old friends. He can't exactly just waste them, could he? For starters, while he's been hanging around in the human world, his comrades have been getting stronger in a world that's seven times faster than the one he resides in. Koka probably couldn't defeat his comrades even if he wanted to.
But Koka doesn't want that. While he may just be a big, dumb bug who's only good for hitting things, he's not a fighter, and he doesn't want to see people he once treasured get hurt, either. Instead, Koka's goal is to get whomever he can to see his side of things. Sure, humans have their problems, but Digimon aren't exactly known for all being the kindest beings in existence, either. And when you really try to put yourself out there, and even when you don't succeed at first, you'll eventually be able to find your own happiness, even if it's something simple. He's something of a romantic optimist in that regard.
But other than that very general plot line that definitely wouldn't work in the grand scheme of things, I don't have anything specific planned for the bug man. Likely, Koka would have to put a stop to his old friends one way or another before they could accomplish anything big, and I think that's what's going to be the crux of his main journey. Well, that, and recruiting one or two of his old pals as mercs when he's eventually able to win them over. Hell, Koka has a merc, and I didn't even say a single word about her!
...And I'm not going to, either. Cause I just hit over a thousand words. Suck it, nerds.
