MPC 82A: Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot

There seems to be a lot of stigma around the Xros General class. Personally, I feel like it's a bit unwarranted. I think that the Xros Class, despite the paperwork that's initially attached, is probably my favorite class. Actually, I'm gonna take a bit of a detour here and have a small little rant about Xros Generals.
...I hate how people think that people think that the generals are so much paperwork. That might be true for the partners, as far as rookie-level movesets and personalities go, but making a rookie-level moveset isn't that hard, and 150 words isn't difficult to write out for a character, either. and for all the champion-level movesets... with alternate forms and merc contracts, the player is going to be making the same amount of movesets, anyway! The only difference is that Xros Generals get their extra forms for free, and free stuff is supposed to be good! Not to mention, people talk like the General Class is some extremely broken class, but at Mega and especially Super-Mega levels, assuming that if an Xros Class and a non Xros-Class purchased all available upgrades, the Xros Class is inherently inferior, considering that they have fewer forms available because they don't have a mode change, and they have less numbers at Super Mega because they don't have access to a synthesis core item like the regular classes do.
...So yeah. Xros Generals get a bad rep and I don't like it because it's a fun class to play. And to express that mechanically, I created Matsuri Usatora. She's not some brilliant tactician... In fact, she's kind of an idiot, and while she's still a newbie she'll one day command her own group of homeless friends!
Matsuri is a positive and energetic young girl... that has no reason to be as positive as she is. But she's an unbelievable optimist, and despite all the bad things happening in her life, she won't take off that smile of hers because things could always be worse!
Due to an incredibly unfortunate misunderstanding, Matsuri is under the belief that her parents wished that she was never born. Now... Matsuri's not the smartest child in the world, but she tried to be a good daughter, and wanted to appease her parents as much as she could. However... as hard as Matsuri could think, she couldn't think of a way to make it so she was never born... but she could just disappear! So Matsuri ran away from home, stowed away on a truck to Toyko, and have been surviving on the streets ever since. She has a bit of self-worth issue now, but she tries not to think about all that negative stuff, because admitting that she was sad was going only going to hurt her!
So now Matsuri is a homeless girl that wanders the streets of Shibuya, and eventually the Digital World. She's smelly, stupid, and a little stubborn, but is eager to please anyone willing to befriend a girl like her!
But Matsuri is an Xros General, a class infamous for not being alone. And the first Digimon that she ever meets happens to be a Tokomon X that goes by the name... Toko. However, Toko can't speak anything other than her own name, so Matsuri refers to the little pink blob as "Mr. Piggybutt", because she thinks the little Digimon looks like a pig's butt. Like I stated earlier, Matsuri's not the brightest child out there.
But while Toko is still very young, and not at all much of a combatant, and in fact, she can't do much to get her feelings across... except for her ability to make other people experience her own emotions. Anger, sadness, joy, if Toko is experiencing it, and she wants someone else to experience it as well, then whomever Toko wishes will suddenly feel that same emotional pull that Toko feels. It's not a particularly refined ability, but the little baby Digimon is capable of easily synchronizing with others... or at least, making others synchronize with her.
But while Toko may not be Matsuri's primary partner, she's still the first Digimon that the little girl has ever met, so she holds a special place in Matsuri's heart for that. Toko, alongside Matsuri's primary partner Agumon, is also the lynchpin of all the Xros forms in Matsuri's gang, so she's just as vital to the group as Matsuri and Agumon.
And while he may not be the first member of Matsuri's "army", Agumon stands as Matsuri's primary partner. He's a cool-headed, mature yellow dino that's not afraid to tell Matsuri off when she's being too stubborn or childish. In fact, he's almost a proxy parental figure for the little girl. It's Agumon that will be the one needing to reign Matsuri's childish behaviors in, and he'll be up to the task.
Agumon isn't really a Digimon that's good with kids, but he can at least put forth some effort on account of his partner and any other members of Matsuri's "army". However, Agumon has adult tastes that no child could bear to withstand, and the mature Digimon will eventually need some me-time and hang out with the more mature characters as well. No matter how kind or patient the fire-breathing reptile is, he can't be a babysitter forever.
And those are the immediate characters that most people will be interacting with. Instead of going with numbers, the Matsuri Usatora account is about the versatility all the alternate forms the Xros class has to offer. So Matsuri will have her partner, Agumon, and Toko forming together to form all of Matsuri's X2 forms, then at ultimate rank, the next member will join in to make the X3 forms, and at Mega, Matsuri won't be gaining any new partner, because Agumon will be able to Super Evolve and make X4 forms with the other 2 partners. Then finally at SM, they'll gain the higher-power partner, MetalGarurumon and be able to make the X5 forms.
Matsuri was a more mechanics-based characters, so her personality is something generic for me so it's easy to write. But I intend on expanding that further down the line, so please look forward to it!
