Shi sat down in his living room, eyes closed and arms crossed as he waited for his parents to come in. Shi had texted them a while ago and told them he needed to tell them something, something very important. Reaching in his pockets Shi felt his digivice, clasping it tighter he decided he had to do this, even if he didn't feel ready. Yuudai and Yasuo were behind the couch waiting for his word to get out from behind there, ever since his sister almost got hurt in the digital world he felt that he needed to tell his parents and sister about all this digimon stuff, it had gotten too dangerous for him to keep quiet about from them. Taking a deep breath he heard the front door open and his family walk in, quickly going to the living room and seeing him sitting waiting.
"Shi, what did you need to tell us?" His dad asked putting his coat down and sitting across from the teen. His mom sat next to him not saying a word, Shi had a feeling she knew what he was going to talk about. "There's... Something I need to tell you both, I was trying to keep it a secret but I don't think It's right to do so anymore." Shi spoke looking down slightly, partly not wanting to meet their gaze. "It's about why I've been out a lot, and hold up in my room more often." Shi waited a second to continue talking, which his dad decided to chime in.
"Oh Shi, it's perfectly fine, I had a feeling already." Shi looked up, surprised. His mom did too curious as too what he meant. "You don't have to be embarrassed or hide. Lots of kids are realizing-" Shi held up his hand stopping his dad. "Dad, what do you think I'm trying to tell you?" Shi had a feeling he knew, and considering the look on his moms face she also had a feeling. "Oh, that you're gay." That was what broke the camels back, Shi looked down at the ground, pulling his hat over his eyes, face pretty much crimson as his mom started laughing, harder then he had ever heard he laugh before.
"What with all the hiding, the other teen you hid in your room. I hear them all the time, saw him come out once too. A blond kid right? I'm just going to say I ac-" Shi held his hand up, his heart couldn't take any more wrong information. "No, No dad I'm not.... I'm not... Just Yuudai, Yasuo come on out already." Their cover had been blown already, while some of the laughter was coming from his mom, most of it was coming from behind the couch from the twins who couldn't hold it in anymore, slowly Yuudai popped out and Yasuo as well. "Hey, my names Yuudai. Nice to meet you finally." Yasuo gave a small wave. "It's uhh, nice to finally meet you both Mom, Dad." Shi quickly objected before anything else. "They don't know your names so they just call you what I always do."
"Oh, so are you sure you're not-" Shi looked dead serious. "I'm not!" Raising his hands and letting out a small laugh. "Okay, Okay. Sorry Shi." Both of his parents got up and walked over to the twins, his dad just looked at them, curious eyes looking at the two of them while his mom poked them slightly, making sure they were real. "Mirai told me all about her imaginary friends, two orange dinosaurs. I suppose she's seen them before huh?" His mom asked looking back at her son, giving a small not to her Shi waited for another response, but after a bit his parents just looked at each other before nodding, having decided something. "Shi, are these creatures the reason you got that scar?" His mom asked her eyes narrowed and serious. Shi paused for a bit before nodding deciding to tell them all about what had been going down.
From the moment Shi met Yuudai and Yasuo to the trip to the hospital Shi told the two of them all about what he had been doing, from saving other tamers to facing dangerous foes. Both of them were quiet until he finished looking over at the twins occasionally and back to Shi. Once he finished they started talking to each other, Shi couldn't quite catch what they were saying so he just waited for them to talk to him, which didn't take long. "Shi, These digimon things. They seem too dangerous and we don't want you involved with them." His dad said sternly, Shi figured that was coming considering what he just told them.
"But, we both know you're probably going to get involved. I know I would at your age, just promise us you'll be careful. Take care of yourself before you even think about taking care of others." His mom added giving a small smile, Shi just nodded before getting up. "Well, that went better then I thought. Guess Yuudai and Yasuo don't hafta stay in my room anymore." They both seemed to light up at that aspect. "They can sleep in the living room, I'm sure it'll be much more comfortable then wherever you've been stashing them." Considering Shi had them in a closet that was a no brainer.
Yuudai and Yasuo both jumped a bit for joy, happy that they didn't hafta wait for everyone to be asleep or away to do stuff. "But, if they're going to stay out more I expect them to pick up after themselves and help around the house. No one eats for free here and they don't go to school like you and your sister." His mom added causing the twins to get slightly worried but they both nodded. "Good, I'll come up with some chores for you two later, for now we should get going." His mom added looking at the time, seems they had been talking longer then Shi had thought. As Shi stood up and started to walk off towards his room he was grabbed by his dad and given a hug. "We love you Shi, if this digimon thing is part of your life we'll respect that." He said letting Shi go and giving him a smile, Shi returned with his own awkward version of a smile before simply nodding.
