It started out being exhausting work.
It almost drained him time and time again; but slowly over the months of working out here the dragon had found that his energy levels rose to meet the challenge. Something that they didn’t expect from this body of his. Something that the gracenovamon thankfully had ideas for on how to deal with it; how to cope with it in long term. They’d just have to keep working on draining the energy he had stored up to the point of where it could truly be negative.
Only twice did that happen and both times he had almost reverted before an energy spike. It was beyond frustrating and during all of this work he had at least been able to complete commissions from various buyers and merchants. Though they never set foot on the island and he always had someone else deliver the goods for him. What was the point of having a place that was ‘secret’ if everyone knew about it?
Today didn’t start out any different; today didn’t feel any different. He got up and went through his morning routine, throwing some strong attacks off into the storm that was constantly overhead as well as doing stretches and trying to find if his body had any real limitations for the level it was.
There was a soreness that wasn’t there before; there was aches where there hadn’t been before. For the first time in months he felt a small twinge of satisfaction and a grin worked it’s way across his lips. The dragon made sure to send a message to metal drive about this occurrence. He had been keeping them updated on the various exercises like he was supposed to and notify them of anything strange.
Given that he hadn’t felt sore like this? Like actually sore and tired? This was a good step to regulating his lightning and his powers. The mon had the thought of continuing on as the day required; unsure if the general or any of his partners would have ideas. He hoped angel did; he longed to see her again.
He’d grip at the hammer next to his forge and set to work; unsure if he’d see them today, tomorrow or even within the week. But he did know one thing.
He was closer than ever before to taking his form under this and actually be able to go out and about. There were other steps he could take but they were so drastic he felt like he shouldn’t. He’d chuckle a bit at a thought and shake his head; his hammer arm striking down against the anvil to test if the hammer needed to be worked with again… a thought crossed his mind and he couldn’t help but shake his head.
”Some meat would be nice… getting sick of tofu, rice and fish…”

From the outside, the island that Silver now inhabited became a foreboding one.
Storms and the like were a regular occurrence, of course, but ever since Metal Drive had left Silver with his new caretaker, it seemed like the entire island was taken up in a continuous maelstrom - and how could it not? The sheer energy of the dragon, and the excess electrical output, stirred the seas and disturbed the clouds, whipping them together in a near-unending storm.
It ensured Silver's secrecy, but also confirmed his isolation. And it made for a very annoyed Renamon on the island, wrapping herself up in a makeshift raincoat as she trudged on through from the portal to the location of Silver's forge. "Tch... maybe I should have had the General try and math this one out..."
"This is what he calls 'close'?" The sword at the fox's hip almost seemed to scoff, as the Renamon rolled her eyes and pushed onward, towards the one bit of cover around: the forge itself, like an eye in the storm.
At this point, the Renamon didn't bother much with knocking. She gave two solid hits at the door, before moving to push it open with her shoulder - and as soon as she was inside, she would swing it back shut, pull back her hood, and swear under her breath. "Maybe we should have picked a better time to do this than fucking monsoon season..." She growled, moving to try and wipe off her soaked feet.
Well, if it was that bad for Angel after about ten minutes, how was Silver coping?

It wasn’t really a surprise to him that it had become fairly foreboding, that it was difficult to approach and that it would be harder and harder to do so as time passed. He was worried about the long term effects of the maelstrom but he was given re-assurance by the gracenovamon that this would be fine given the location. The constant storms would eventually cycle out and it’d take a little bit for things to return to normal.
It also made him incredibly lonely; the amount of visitors he had were numbered on one hand and the smith wasn’t exactly sure if that was a good or bad thing. He’d continue working for while he waited… Up until a splitting headache started to work it’s way through his head and through his entire core. Like a bad hangover that just threatened to get worse if he didn’t do something.
Grunting the large dragon went into the kitchen to make some tea; unsure if he should do anything extra or just use the normal stuff. When one of his mugs fell from his hands the jackal growled and caught it before it could hit the ground. Silverware and the like was rare enough out here he didn’t need them breaking too!
That was when he heard the solid hits on the door; ears flicking and swiveling. The tea forgotten for a moment as he stepped out to see who he was gifted with this time around. It took only an instant but he saw angel and one of her companions; blade of all people. He’d look between his hands; one holding that sloshing tea kettle and the other holding the mug.
”...I wasn’t expecting that fast of a response.”
He’d admit quietly and flick his ears, he could feel the crackling of his energy as it tried to offput how he was feeling by charging him up. But given the soreness it didn’t get too far and seemed to spiral off into one of the many rods in the walls. Before joining it’s kin up in the clouds.
”It’s been getting… a little more than just soreness. Now a headache and I can feel the lightning a bit more acutely now.”

'I wasn't expecting that fast of a response.'
Hearing that, the Renamon gave a sigh, shaking her head. "And I wasn't expecting you to think that this is a good thing. Your condition changes overnight to be 'sore', and you think its because your body's starting to drain out the energy?" Angel, taking a moment to hang up her coat, would blink as yet another spark of energy danced right off of the dragon's body, snaking right towards the conductive walls.
Interesting - thunder rods? Hearing Silver's reasoning, the Renamon crossed her arms, moving to circle about halfway around the tea-wielding dragon. "Be honest, Siler. On a scale of one-to-ten, how are you actually feeling right now? Because from my perspective, you actually seem to be struggling 'more' than you were before."
"As if the body's finally breaking under all of the energy built up..." The BladeKuwagamon mused, Angel biting her lip. If it was that, it was only a matter of time before Silver would be left a little more than a char-broiled lizard!

Silver rubbed at his neck awkwardly; he did think it was a good thing and he did indeed think that it was because he was running out of energy. The dragon shifted awkwardly and couldn’t help but follow the renamon as she circled him. His head tilting slightly at the question. He’d frown and think it over…
”If I had to compare it to before? Probably a five out of ten really…”
Truth be told he had been staying up a lot more because sleeping was hard, had been working on commissions and it wasn’t like he was blowing off resting. He still did everything that they had told him to do and asked him to do. The jackal set down the tea cups and noted that yes his hands were shaking; if a little mildly and he’d join angel with that biting of the lip behavior.
”If we’re at this stage… then maybe if the body is breaking that’s the time that I can maybe de-digivolve if I either take a big enough hit or expend enough energy all at once.”
He and the gracenovamon had theorized over a lot of stuff and this was one of the incidents that she had thought about. The jackal shifted a bit so that he was sitting properly and frowned as he made the tea albeit a bit slower than usual.
”...Of course I’m all ears. I don’t want to be a dried out husk of a mon you know. If I can even get down to ultimate this will be much better than uh… that.”
With the energy that he was no longer producing being at such a high level maybe the dragon jackal could return to his former state which was safer. Much more suited to travel… and maybe. Just maybe he could practice till he was able to take the anubian form a little easier. Either that or burn to a charred crisp...

A five out of ten.
Not amazing, but perhaps not terrible. Seeing the dragon's shaking hands, Angel let out a 'tsk', taking a moment or two to try and make sense of the mega's data. Silver gave another comment, hanging onto hope on the issue.
"What do you think, Angel?"
It took a moment, the fox giving a sigh as she shook her head. "He's either hit by the strain of generating too much energy that he's worn out the body, meaning the energy is still there and waiting to come back in one more surge - or, he's running low on juice, but been in this form so long that it hasn't automatically reverted. The lack of energy might be why he's overall feeling sore."
"So let's just hope that its the second case."
With that being said, Angel would cross her arms, and nod towards Silver. "But there's no point just sitting on our hands and 'hoping it works out'. How about we just rip that band-aid and try and discharge the rest of the energy at once?"

Silver exhaled slowly and just tried to calm himself; nothing worth getting bent out of shape about. They had a solution for this but he really couldn’t stop his hands from doing what they wanted here. He’d adjust the tea pot and then just leave it alone; they could get back to that later maybe.
”I don’t feel anything big or deep inside of me like that; I could poke around if I took the time but… With the shakes, ehh feeling and general soreness I want to say that it’s the second one.”
Silver turned his head to angel; noting her posture and tilting his head to one side. Ripping off the band-aid? He’d rub at his chin thoughtfully; there was a place that he had looked into doing something like that. A little higher up and closer to the storm. A nearby inactive and long dead volcano would be a prime spot for this. At least he hoped it was inactive; it hadn’t done anything since he had come here…
”I know a spot; a dead volcano is nearby and it’s closer to the storm. So a large discharge there won’t damage anything worth mentioning. Should we go there?”
It wasn’t hard to figure out a spot; or unless the renamon had an idea of where they could do this that wasn’t near here… He didn’t have any other spots that would suffice; the gravenovcamon’s flying island wouldn’t be a good idea since it was already making the storm it was in practically worse!
”It’d be nice to be a bit smaller…”

Hearing that additional piece of information, at least, was enough for Angel to relax a bit.
"Then I'm not going to worry too much about it. If its winding down, its winding down - though if you're that sore, I have to wonder if your caretaker here's overworking you." Chuckling a bit at that comment, the Renamon's ear gave a flick at Silver's subsequent idea. "Anywhere isolated enough'd work. That volcano, the desert, maybe even just a few hundred yards further into the storm - so long as no-one's around to watch, we can try and wring the rest of the energy out of ya."
Giving that smirk, she'd walk up right next to him, and give the dragon's side a butt of her elbow. "C'mon, you won't be waiting long if this all works out the way we think it will." And with that, the portal would be open... ... Leaving the three of them, as expected, out in the middle of nowhere.
The volcano that Silver had mentioned was definitely not the most popular attraction out there. As soon as Angel stepped through the portal, she felt her foot sink ankle-deep into an ancient pile of volcanic sand, the Renamon giving an annoyed growl as she moved to perch on a nearby rock and kick out her feet.
"One step and now I'm gonna have to spend a good hour brushing all of that out..." Swearing under her breath, the fox would look towards Silver with a nod, ear flicking as an electrical bolt struck across the sky.
"It's on you. Would be nice to have ya back at base, but... well, gotta get through this, first."

”Well we have been doing a lot of work when she visits. Trying to figure out certain things does take a lot of energy.”
Silver couldn’t help but share that chuckle and rubbed at his chin. The volcano… The desert? That last one would be be ironic given what he intended. The Ancient_anubismon couldn’t help but snort at the thought of going to the same place that he had died to let loose another bolt of lightning that was far less powerful than the sovereigns. At least that’s what he figured given that he was still several levels under what they were capable of.
”Well no one wants to go to such a place; foreboding and grim as the volcano looks. And you really think so?”
He’d grin back down at her; adjusting slightly and stepping through the portal as it opened…
...Only to see this middle of no-where and couldn’t help but remember when he and the gracenovamon had come here to inspect the volcano. If it was truly dead or not; if it hadn’t been they wouldn’t be here now. Kind of strange how things worked out for him.
He didn’t seem to have a problem with sinking into the sand and would raise his brows; slowly hovering upwards and dusting himself off. This form he wouldn’t be keeping for too much longer he figured.
”Well if this works out then I’ll be the one brushing that out for you. Fair’s fair? And it’d be nice to be there too; though I imagine we’d be busy all over again...”
Silver chuckled lightly; less of a flirt and more him just being honest. He probably would have extended it to any of the others if they had the same issue. But he doubted guru or demon would even entertain the thought. Halfway expecting the same out of Raider but he knew so little about that mon that he doubted he’d make a joke about it.
”All right let’s do this…”
Silver let out a soft growl; feeling the lightning surge and dance through his body; over the months he had figured out how to control it to a degree and this one attack he knew the best. The one that he had maybe fired off once at such a less degree. But this one? This one he poured more energy into for the desire to return to normal. Or what he considered normal. His body seemed like it was practically aglow with the energy that rested deep inside of him
And like that the energy from his body lept out, up into the sky not to be seen for a few moments. Silver himself staggered once it left his body and his form seemed to jitter. But it wasn’t until the energy that he poured out slammed into the top of the volcano that the sheer might of the attack was noticeable. The huge swath of rock and sand was glassed in an instant leaving an angry red glowing hole nearly a hundred feet wide.
Silver’s body couldn’t handle the abuse of using that much energy at once and finally as though a cascade effect? His body awash with the natural light of digivolution that flickered a few times before setting in properly… His form shrinking and forming into something far less. The demonic wings pulsating with light and shaggy grey fur taking on most of his body. With dark patches here or there.
The six lines of eyes would be rather familiar, the first form that angel would have seen him in. Closer to a demon than an angel; but threatening none the less. He’d let out a small rumbling laugh and adjust. Noting that he was still floating a few inches off the ground and with a soft flap he’d land on a patch of hardened rock.
”It feels good being back like this… Been a while since I last saw this form...”

It was the moment of truth - and Angel found herself looking on tentatively. Based on what Silver said, this should work, but the question remained in the back of her head.
What if it didn't? What if the situation only worsened, or what if his body couldn't withstand the energy at all? Clenching her teeth, the fox gave a nod, and stepped back to what felt like a safe distance... and as Silver charged up his attack, the fox went back even further, and took cover behind a thick boulder.
BOOM.
Like that, in one impressive surge, the electrical energy soared out into the sky, and came down like a crashing meteor near the top of the mountain. The scar that it left almost made it look like the volcano had been activated once more, but Angel felt it would take more than just that one jostle to undo thousands of years of nature. And with that surge came a swift reduction of Silver's data signal, until he was left a mere champion in the fox's midst.
With a smile, and a great deal of relief rushing out of her frame, the fox would step right on up, laughing as she shook her head.
"Demon would be jealous." Taking the moment to swing her arms around Silver's shoulders, the fox held that tired Digimon close. Oh, she missed this - yes, she was still much 'shorter' than Silver, but the difference was no longer absurd.
"Mm... that said, your ultimate still looks much better on you. Can't imagine you ever used this around Luminas... heh."

Silver was surprised that he could manage such an attack, staring at the hole that he had left and wondering quietly if that was the right course of action if not for a brief moment. But with the effects? He didn’t have to worry. It poured out of him and he was whisked away into something else. He’d look down at his hands and manage a small grin.
”I think he probably would have scoffed at wasting such an attack…[/b”
Silver’s smile turned a bit more wolfish as he felt those arms swing around his shoulders. He felt tired most certainly but he was no longer stuck in a form he was worried about hurting others in. He could practice; work on properly approaching that level. He’d exhale a bit and slip his arms around her to give her a proper hug. Even if she was much shorter she wouldn’t probably feel that way for a moment!
”Well give me a few days and maybe I’ll be back at it! Oh… this form had them in a tizzy for a while; frustrated that it was vaccine of all things.”
Silver couldn’t help but laugh a bit at that and well. He figured that angel wouldn’t want to remain embraced for too long. Giving her a firm squeeze before leaning back ever so slightly.
”Are we going back to base then? Or is there some work to be done?”
Silver figured that she would want to get to work; or maybe this was one of those rare times that his ‘work’ would just be recovering… and maybe he’d get to spend some time with angel. Those six eyes stared at her quietly, absorbing her as though she hadn’t been seen for a while. He certainly hungered for company and she was most certainly providing it.

"Mm... in my experience, it doesn't matter what attribute you are if you look that way to begin with."
Shaking her head, the fox would hold into that embrace for a few more moments, before she was carefully left to lean back. She soon let go and landed back in that volcanic sand, cursing under her breath once more as her legs sank down to the calf. "Tch... yeah, we're going back to base. Hell of a lot of 'work' you can do until you can recover, hun. Besides..."
She sighed.
"Recovering from your form's only a temporary fix. Not so much use if all you can do is filter out the lightning, right?"
Was this really just a case of 'back to square one'? Angel pushed that thought aside for now, and a moment later, opened up a portal to head right back to the depths of Terminus, and the coliseum-turned-base that lied underneath. As Silver stepped through, he'd be met with a familiar view, his own room, with the forge and his bunk still mostly in-tact.
"Right, shall I leave you two to it?"
"Tch." Angel relented, and their form split, the sword swiftly moving down the hall as the now-more-feral Renamon rubbed her nose against the back of her glove. "Snarkly little piece of metal, sometimes..."

”Mm. That’s true. Old luminas was always really aggressive about that sort of thing and while the new guard is less… they still have some problems accepting certain… looks or types.”
Silver sighed; it was something he admitted that he wanted to address when he was able to. But luminas now had the chance to grow; to change to become a beacon of hope and power for the digital world rather than the corrupt husk that was caked onto some truth they seemed to think they served.
”Well I am willing to do whatever work is needed of me even if it seems paltry.”
Silver tilted his head a bit and the silvermon’s eyes slid to the hole that he had smote in the side of the mountain. How did he tell her that he wasn’t filtering that? That his core had produced that sheer amount of power? The silvermon stared at it for a long period of time and he’d sigh. The reason he figured that he wasn’t able to control it like he should is because he was still acclimating it.
”Yes and no. That last attack in ancient_anubismon was of my own doing. That wasn’t a filter. That was taking the lightning inside of me and using it to assault the side of the mountain. Filtering would be what I was doing when it was arcing off of my body into the iron rods I had lined around and inside of the house.”
Silver paused a bit and he’d look down at the ground. Shaking his head slowly.
”I can control that form only in the extreme cases of using it to forge or like that attack. But anything lesser then… it’s just a filter. Like you said.”
Silver gritted his teeth and stepped into the portal; greeted by the familiar area of his bunk. His expression softened a bit and he’d glance at Blade as the other deigned to leave him and angel on their own. Seeing her like that silver would chuckle and would go to hug her against him. Gently cradling the renamon against him for a few long moments...
”It’s all right. Lets get a brush so I can ‘get to work’ on that fur of yours.”

That wasn't a filter?
Angel's ear gave a small flick as Silver gave his explanation, the fox tilting her head a bit in confusion. "You were trying to expend energy to bottom out your reserves so you could revert, right? Whether you did that through an attack, a siphon, or just letting it out through the metal, well, that's all filtering. Just different names for the same thing... tch."
The Renamon didn't argue too much, though. In her rookie form, she was already much more restless and impatient, and really didn't want to stick too long on arguing semantics. Instead, she found herself leaning right against that hug, chuckling as Silver mentioned the brush.
"Heh... it really has been a while since we've had a chance to kick back like this, hasn't it?" As she spoke, the fox moved a hand to Silver's chest, trailing a single claw down as she looked towards the demon's eyes. "God, a brush sounds amazing right now. My legs are already starting to itch from that damn volcano..."/color] With a slight growl, reminded of that annoyance, the fox would push herself back and stretch out her back.
"But I guess its only fair. Working the knots out of that giant dragon form of yours was a chore and a half on its own. If we're arguing surface area... well, this shouldn't take you an hour and a half to get through."

”...So then what am I doing wrong with it all?”
Silver didn’t know what he was supposed to do, what was the steps he had to take to change it from filtering to what they needed? He thought they had made progress but it looked like they were just back to square one. The gracenovamon had been honest with him through and through so he figured that… He’d shake his head a little bit and sighed. Squeezing angel as she leaned against him.
”A few months now I’d think…”
He’d rumble softly as he felt that claw run along his chest; the eyes couldn’t help but focus in on her and she’d find him meeting her own for a few long delicate moments. He’d blink a bit at hearing that she was itching. He’d motion to his bed and he’d shift to go find a brush…
”Well no sense in letting the sand work in deeper…”
Silver paused as he picked through a few of the shelves he kept things on; flicking his ears and turning with a small grin on his face.
”A chore and a half indeed, a lot of dragon to cover in that form. When you weren’t about it’d take ages to take care of that fur. And some places I couldn’t reach! But who’s to say it won’t take an hour n a half to get through hmm?”
He’d give her a playful wink though honestly with six eyes and half of them closing? It could be mistaken as blinking for a split second if one didn’t know better. With him finding the brush the silvermon would get to work on brushing out that sand from Angel’s lower extremities.
”I did have a few visitors other than you and gracenovamon however. A couple that were interested in equipment or fixing their digimon. I don’t know how but I managed to fix the latter while the former… well I had to turn them away since they didn’t bring their own resources.”
There was a long pause and the demonic dog sighed a bit, still brushing along her fur. He seemed like there was something else; a small tail swish and he’d just shake his head.
”I met Toki again. The last time I saw him I was still a spirit and he was still a child barely grasping at straws. Now he’s met with a sovereign and seems so powerful.”
