It had been some time since Faustein's latest adventure and that was one in which he had to join forces with a fellow NEXUS member called Ryuji and his partner Calumon called Yoshihiro as well as another young man called Dante and his Wormmon partner to stop a rampaging mad scientist and his robots from wrecking a mall in Shibuya in the human world. Since then, Faustein had gotten back to the daily grind of his profession as a practicing physician-scientist and also to the indulgence of his obsession with his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research.
Apart from that, there were the now frequent summons he had been receiving from his grandparents due to the fact that he had brokered a high stakes business deal some time back with another one of the richest and most influential families in Japan, namely the Alanis family. Thankfully, after all of that, just last December, he had a short break wherein he had traveled to the Northern Prominence which was the snowy area of the Digital World. During his two day long stay there, he had thoroughly enjoyed playing in the snow while reliving his childhood memories of doing the same with his parents. His companions had, of course, been the Frigimon that called that frigid area their home. Fortunately for him, they had been the welcoming sort, so his stay ended rather peacefully instead of the usual trouble-filled manner it always seemed to whenever he came to the Digital World. Regrettably, however, he was forced to return to the Human World due to a call from some of his associates there who apparently needed his help with some matters. Thus, he had gotten embroiled in the toils and troubles of his life once more for the next several months.
So, naturally, he had been looking forward to his current, upcoming trip to the Digital World wherein he would once again be free to unleash his mad physician-scientist side and its cravings to his heart's content as that always seemed to bring him much needed relaxation. To that end, he had decided to travel there via the usual Digi-Port method as it was the fastest and most private known to him by using his usual command phrase while standing in that secret part of the normal looking Shibuya Station.
"Digi-Port, open. Destination: Terminus."
With that, the Digi-Port was activated leading to the formation of a portal which Faustein then tugged on in order to open completely.
Inside was the usual black, fluid void and so, Faustein stepped inside and waited patiently as the proximal end of the portal closed in the human world and then walked through to the other end and upon reaching it, he tugged on the portal's rim again, which dropped him off at his destination, which in this trip was just Terminus as he was actually looking to make a deal with one of his contacts in said Digital World metropolis for the purposes of acquiring a certain set of digimon parts for one of his impending mad science projects.
"Ah, it is most wonderful to be back again!! Oh, how I have missed the Digital World and all of its wonderous sights and sounds!!"
He exclaimed while stretching and breathing in the now familiar scents of Terminus. Needless to say, this drew quite a few disgruntled stares from the city's denizens who were milling about around him.
"Pipe down, human!! Some of us are trying to get actually important work done around here!!"
He was chided in this manner by a Burgermon who was clearly busy examining what seemed like ingredients for a week's worth of fast food combos and other gastronomical treats. Upon hearing that, Faustein frowned briefly and thought of retorting, but in the end, as per usual, he decided it would be too much work. So, he merely shrugged and went on his way toward his intended destination in Terminus, namely its underbelly. However, along the way, he was drawn by the sounds of a small eclectic group of digimon who were all gathered around a large box upon which stood a Hookmon who seemed to be trying to convince them all to go along on a treasure hunt from the sounds of the chatter in the group.
A treasure hunt, eh? How quaint...then again, my research and everything that it entails does require quite a fortune to keep it going...
Musing silently thus, Faustein decided to join in the fun and so, he strode up to the group and melded into it after which he began listening to the Hookmon along with the rest of them
"So, what do ye say, me mateys?! Who wants to get filthy stinkin' rich with me?!"
In response, the entire group of digimon, and with Faustein in accompaniment cheered at the top of their lungs in support of the pirate digimon's goal of finding a mountain of treasure. Of course, Faustein had no intention whatsoever of sharing said treasure with any of them and so, was merely putting on airs in order to not arouse suspicion in those digimon around him. No, his thoughts had already started turning to treachery and betrayal as befit a mad physician-scientist such as himself
Hmm, this lot does seem rather rough and over-eager...maybe I can use that to my advantage...
Naturally, he ensured that his outward countenance and the expression on it was as enthusiastic and mindlessly over-eager as those of the excited digimon around him so as to not get caught prematurely. After a couple more hours, all the plans for the imminent treasure hunt were laid out and the group sallied forth on their treasure hunting expedition.
