Planning things out wasn't his strong suit and it was really starting to make itself apparent here. Without having spent enough time trying to learn the language it seemed that he was on the receiving end of many confused expressions. He could only imagine what he was actually saying to people while attempting to ask them for directions. Well, it would just be something he had to work on fixing, right now he needed to find some place to setup for his stay in Japan.
Being unfamiliar with the area he started his search here, maybe he could find an apartment or hotel. What was worse was he had wanted to ask people about the rumors that brought him here, but couldn't do that. Man, it was a good thing that it was just him here, he'd hate to have someone he know prodding him about not having things sorted out beforehand.
Shaking his head, he returned his focus to the task at hand, finding some place to live while he was here. Glancing around the immediate area, found a place that he could at least sit down and from there, he could try reading the books he picked up a bit more and try to figure out how to communicate better. "Let's see, how do I ask about places to stay?" he thumbed through the first one to see if he could get some ideas.
It was the moment he sat, when he felt something in the pocket of his jacket, and reaching in to found a rather strange sight. A handheld device that was connected to a wrist mount. How the hell did that get into his pocket without him noticing? Maybe it was some kind of business promotion? With a shrug he slipped it onto his right wrist and returned to his books. It'd be better if he could find something soon, otherwise he was gonna wind up sleeping in some random corner.

Central Shibuya was a place Stacy didn't make a regular habit of passing through even though she had been in Japan for a year now. Her Japanese, though not fluent, was good enough for basic conversations. However she usually spoke in English out of habit and, even then, rarely had issues communicating since in Japan the English language was also spoken.
One of her worst problems was her sense of direction but she somehow had made do. Usually she ran around town in her rookie form of Hinookamimon but this was one time she was in her natural human state. While looking around she soon spotted a man who looked lost and confused. When he sat down she approached him and, in English, said "Hey there, you look lost. Are you alright?" Then she saw something on his wrist that she recognized all too well. It was a D-Tector. So it seemed this man was a spirit wielder like her but the question was how much he knew regarding digimon or if he was even aware of them.

There wasn't much time for him to start flipping through the book before he was approached by a woman who looked like she was a couple years younger than him. At her question, he raised his eyebrows slightly and rejoiced that there was someone who spoke English. “Hey! Yes, I'm a bit lost, but I am alright. Right now, I'm just trying to find a place where I might be able to get a room or something,” he explained. It was a bit odd say that, but hey, someone that knew they area better than he did was bound to know some good places where he could set up.
Stopping his mental celebration before he got too carried away with that he needed to make something right first. “Sorry about that, forgot my manners. I'm Drake,” he offered both his name and an extended hand towards the woman. He hadn't meant to be rude, he just got a little lost in the moment with finding someone who would talk to him. With the place to live, potentially, taken care of he could switch his focus to the reason that brought him hear.

Judging by his reaction it seemed this man hadn't been able to get anyone to help him. Pushing her blue framed glasses, which were starting to slip, back into place. Deciding not to think to much about how the locals weren't being helpful she said "There are many hotels, motels, and even apartments throughout Shibuya. Though I've been here for a year I've rarely been in this part of town."
When he apologized about his lack of manners he introduced himself as Drake and offered his hand to shake. Taking the offered hand, she said "Nice to meet you, Drake, I'm Stacy." The thought that Drake wasn't able to find help came back to mind as she then said "What I find weird is that none of the locals helped you. The locals speak English as well as Japanese since both are taught in the schools. Maybe the folks you asked were just having a bad day or something." Looking at the digivice around his wrist she then asked "I hope this doesn't sound rude but where did you get that thing you're wearing around your wrist?"

There were hotels and things all over? Well damn, he really should have figured out what all the signs were saying, that would have saved a lot of time. Maybe the next time he would look things up in advance, he felt a bit dumb not realizing there were so many places nearby. “Oh, guess I really should have planned things out,” that was a bit awkward.
“Nice to meet you as well, Stacy,” he exclaimed with a smile. It was good to meet new people, especially ones that were willing to help him when he was in such a predicament. “Well, I think it might be me messing up what I was saying and just shocking people?” that was the best explanation he could come up with considering his lack of understanding the language. Jumping in head first in this manner seemed to be a bad plan after all. He might have to see if he could apologize to the people, just in case he said something offensive to them.
Her next question caught him by surprise, however, as she immediately brought up the device on his wrist. “To be honest, I'm not really sure where it came from myself. I just found it in my pocket and assumed it was just some promotional thing,” he answered. Looking at the object a bit closer, he wasn't sure what it was, but maybe Stacy would be able to offer him some insight into things. It was as good a place as any to start since she seemed aware of what it was?
“Do you know what it is?” ever the direct one, he wasted no time seeking answers to his questions.

So Drake didn't plan ahead before coming to Japan making Stacy barely ahead of him in that regard. At least when she left the United States a year ago she knew at least a little about Japan including how to swear in Japanese among some more useful things. "When I got here a year ago I didn't plan beyond getting here safely but if I can somehow manage you should be okay too."
When Dante mentioned messing up and possibly shocking people Stacy chuckled before she said "Yeah learning a new language takes practice. A year ago I knew far too little Japanese to hold a conversation so I am glad that English is also a language spoken here or I would have been lost."
Okay so he didn't know what he had so Stacy now wondered how would be the best way for her to explain what he held and that she was a spirit wielder as well. Not one to beat around the bush she unzipped the zipper of the left pocket of her leather jacket she brought out a dark blue D-Tector with flame colored highlights before she said "I have a device just like you only I got it last year and it didn't just appear in my pocket but came flying out of my laptop."

“Yeah, I should be alright, thank you for the concern,” he was grateful that she took the time to make sure everything was alright. Still, that made things easier for him if there were plenty of hotels or motels around the area. It was surprising to learn that she had only been here a year before he got her, with how much knowledge she seemed to have now. Well, maybe he could ask her for tips about what things were good and what were bad, it'd probably be good to learn that quick.
The chuckle was a good sign as well, seems he was at least making one friend today, even if every other person thought he was crazy. “Yeah, I guess I underestimated the difficulty, good to know that I can speak English and take my time learning. I'll have to plan a bit better in the future,” rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. Well, he learned a few important things today, so it was best to keep looking at the bright side of the situation.
Watching as she pulled out a device that looked like his own, he raised an eyebrow in surprise and was much more curious now. As she began to speak, it seemed that his thoughts of it being a business promotion were shattered quite readily. Though she had hers for a year, that was quite a long time to have it and yet his was only received today? That was a bit odd to say the least, and it just made his curiosity jump even higher. When she mentioned a laptop, he blinked and checked his pocket to see if there was a connection. Sure enough, he had left his smartphone in that pocket, what did that actually mean though.
“You've had yours for a year? Then I guess it would just be better to ask. What exactly is this?” he inquired, his curiosity was overriding any concern he might have had at the moment. Instead, learning as much about it as possible would be the best way to keep calm in this situation.

"Planning ahead is hard sometimes, especially if one is excited about something." Stacy said looking back on when she moved to Japan a year ago. The reason for her move was still not understood but, at some level, it was if she felt she had to come to Japan. Which made her wonder if she would of even gotten her digivice. Maybe she would of, after all both her brothers in America each got a D-Tector like herself.
Drake was just as confused as to what she held as she was when she first got hers which was more than understandable. Stacy sat down on the bench near Drake showing signs of discomfort as her still sore ribs from a fight with a Roachmon were now acting up. "How do I explain this but this machine is from a world parallel to our own and is called a digivice. Digivice's come in several different models and each have a different purpose. This model is called a D-Tector and it allows its owners to channel the power of spirits to become those creatures." She then pressed a button and a gold cross appeared on the screen before a holographic image of a white wolf curled up appearing to be asleep was visible. "For example I have the ability to become this wolf." She wasn't gonna bring up digivolution or alternate lines just yet since digimon were not an understood concept for Drake.

“That's true enough,” if there was ever a reason for someone to be in a rush and not plan things out it was excitement. Then again, for him it was just habit at this point, far too impulsive for his own good. Part of the reason he had started to travel the world was to help settle himself, but that didn't really seem to pan out.
“Everything alright?” the question was accompanied by both a worried tone and expression. Granted they had only met just today, but it still wasn't good for someone to be discomforted like that just from sitting. If she needed some help, he could at least offer a bit of assistance.
Then she started to explain what the devices were and he listened intently to her explanation. The part that really surprised him was the hologram of the little creature that Stacy said she was capable of turning into herself. It was taking a bit for his brain to fully process that this device was from a different world and apparently held the ability to transform.
From the looks of it her device was the same kind of type as his own, which meant that he could attempt to transform into a creature as well? There were even more questions that he had, but he wasn't sure if she would know the answers to them, but he'd at least try to start somewhere. “So, focusing on our own ones for the moment, is there anything special to them? Also, is there a reason people are picked?” these questions would do for now. There were more by a long shot, but he figure some basics wouldn't hurt and maybe she knew those answers.

"I'm fine. A week ago I was in far worse shape from a fight I was in. It seems my bruised ribs haven't healed yet." Stacy explained feeling lucky that bruised bones were the worst of her injuries now. At least she was no longer a walking bruise like she was a week ago.
When she was asked if there was something special about the creatures, Stacy said "You could say there is something special. Remember when I mentioned the digivices came from a parallel world. This world is called the Digital World and it is inhabited by many different sentient super powered monsters known as digimon. The digimon I can become is an ancient extinct species called Hinookamimon which in Japanese translates to either light wolf or fire wolf. As for why people are picked to wield these digivices, I've heard it has something to do with being destined. Though considering I'm older than the average digivice wielder by more than a bit, despite looking around your age, I'm not sure why someone like me was one of those destined at times.

“Alright, if you're sure. If you need I do have some painkillers on hand that can alleviate it for a bit,” he offered and would leave it there. He wasn't trying to be pushy, but figured if there was even a little something that he could do to return the favor she was doing him.
He listened to her explanation carefully, and was starting to piece things together about a few things. The rumors that brought him here were related to these digimon then, which solved part one of his question regarding things. “So, in regards to the D-tectors,” his tone questioning to make sure he got the name right. “They allow us to become the forms of digimon that have died?” that was what it sounded like to him. Which was a bit weird to think about, but with his limited knowledge he didn't want to jump to conclusions either. Still, his eyes glanced to the device that was now sitting atop of his wrist wondering about his own form now.
Returning his gaze to Stacy as she questioned the reasons for her being a destined, as that seemed the way one received these devices. “Maybe the reason is just because of who you are? I mean, I only met you but as far as I can tell you seem like a good person,” he wasn't sure about any of this extra stuff, but he at least had confidence in that aspect. Thinking about everything she had told him, there could be quite a number of people here that could have similar abilities. Why were so many people getting them? Hell, why had he gotten one having only just arrived here? That was an interesting thought in itself.
“Alright, so, we can transform into these creatures. The source of this is a world full of super-powered monsters, and somehow we're connected to it in someway. I think I have the basics of it down,” he couldn't lie, this all sounded a bit scary. The only reason he was keeping his composure right now was because the way it was being explained. He wasn't thrust into something right away, so his brain had time to sort and process the information. “I guess the next question is, should I be doing something specific? Is there a goal for those of us that were chosen or are we essentially left to our own devices?” there had to be a purpose behind it right?

"Nah, I don't need painkillers it's just bruised bones and that's better than having broken ones anyday." she said politely turning down the painkillers. Somehow she had never broken a bone in her life even though she had bruised a few. Maybe it was luck and it seemed to carry over to her digimon forms. There was one thing she knew for sure, if she fought that particular Roachmon again it would definitely be as Blitzwolfmon since that forms armor made her more durable.
Now that she thought about it an knew more about digimon it was odd that spirit wielders existed at all. "Yes, these spirits are those of dead digimon with some species far more ancient than others. Yet one thing that confuses me, since I've been around digimon for a year, is that when digimon normally die they are reborn. That is unless another digimon absorbs their data. I forgot to mention digimon is short for digital monster.
"One other thing you need to know that I had to learn the hard way was that digimon come in varying levels of power which are fresh, in training, rookie, champion, ultimate, mega, and super mega. The fresh and in training forms are the youngest stages and spirit wielders do not channel these forms. At those ages digimon are pretty weak and vulnerable but a swarm of in training can be a threat to a human. The form Hinookamimon is a rookie stage digimon for example. Spirit wielders like you and me have to locate our spirits pertaining to each corresponding level with super mega being the strongest." Stacy explained.

“Okay, if you're sure,” he wouldn't press the issue, though he knew that even bruised ribs could be painful. Granted it was better than them being broken, he knew that from experience. Still, if she didn't want anything for them then he would respect her wishes. The question was how she got bruised ribs in the first place, what kind of fight had she gotten into that would put her into such a state?
As she explained what Digimon were and how things usually happened when they were killed, that just made things a bit more confusing about their powers. With how little he knew about everything to do with this, maybe he would have to start diving into this strange world. “So, somehow our spirits, break the rules of their world for some reason to prevent from being reborn? That seems like a lot of sheer stubbornness,” he smirked. If that was the case maybe he and the spirit he got matched with would be a good pair after all. She continued to explain the powers that they had, and how they were currently incomplete, which was a bit of a sad thing.
That there were so many levels to these Digimon as well, and that their power seemed to magnify with each higher form. Well, the being stronger with bigger forms made sense to him at least, but that he essentially would be venturing through the world with the weakest form in search of stronger ones. Talk about throwing people to the wolves, this was going to be a more arduous adventure than he initially imagined, but that would make it all the more worthwhile to see it through. Somehow, while he was hearing all of this explained to him, instead of becoming even more scared it was like an excited burst of energy was now pulsing through him.
“We kind of start off with a handicap for this? In that we don't innately have these stronger forms available?” that sounded strange, but he could deal with that. Taking another look at the new found power on his arm, he wondered what the whole purpose behind all this was and why he was one of the people chosen. Hell, maybe he would just try to figure out his own, since there was a whole new world from him to explore. Although, if he was supposed to be able to do all this amazing stuff, there was one thing that he was going to need to learn from Stacy.
“So, how does this thing work? Is there something special that I need to do?” it'd probably be better to find out now, rather than in a more frantic situation. There was a lot that could happen in those situations and all things considered he wanted to try it out.

"All I know is that the Digital World can be strange at times. Obviously some digimon become spirits for a reason though I don't know the reason even though I got my D-Tector a year ago but stubbornness might have had something to do with it with at least some of them." Stacy said.
"All I know is that spirits are spread out throughout the Digital World. I, for example, can reach Hinookamimon's ultimate form." Stacy said as it did sound strange for the spirits to have been spread out like they were. "Perhaps the reason the spirits are scattered is as a test but that still doesn't explain why some humans are spirit wielders."
When Drake asked how the process worked, Stacy chuckled. She almost forgot that she once was in Drake's shoes when it came to being a new spirit wielder. Hell her first digivolution to Hinookamimon was the spirit itself possessing her very body. At least no one was hurt when she was possessed. "This is not exactly the smartest place to activate the power since most humans have no idea digimon exist and, considering digimon are sentient monsters with superpowers, it is for the best that humans are blissfully ignorant of their existance."

The more that was explained the more questions he had about everything, but he wouldn't put t all onto her either. If there was some answers to be found then maybe the best course of action was to just go explore himself and see what this other world had to offer. The important thing was to try and see if there was an answer to the question of why humans were pick to receive these digivices in the first place. That question was a lingering one, it was weird he wasn't fully sure it was just him that had this lingering thought either. Rubbing the side of his head, he would push the distractions out to focus on the current discussion.
So, the powers were scattered around this Digital World, and they were tasked with going around finding them if they wanted to become stronger themselves. Fair enough, Drake was one that liked to get things done himself anyways so if that was a requirement then he was ready for the challenge. “Ultimate level, huh? That means the world is at least as large as the Earth is? That's actually kind of fun to think about,” there was definitely a hint of enjoyment to his voice. He wanted to explore this new world, and if it was a test as well, it would be interesting to see what was waiting for him with each piece. What did his spirit want from him then? So many questions, but not enough connected dots that would lead to the real answer.
“Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to actually do it here. I should have clarified,” he laughed. It would have been a great shock for many of the people currently going about their days that was for sure. Although, the thought now in his head, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to see it in action. Well, he would settle for any kind of hint, experiencing it himself after that would be the best way to understand the process. “I meant more, is there a specific thing I need to do? Code word, or is it just what we can figure out for ourselves?” that alone would at least be able to push him in the right direction.
The thoughts that were floating around in his head, he had another question, probably the more important one concerning all of this as well. “So, how do you get to the Digital World?” it was a valid question, especially if he was supposed to be traveling around it. Hell, until just a little while ago, he didn't even know it existed. There was a very god chance he would be taking a trip there as soon as he was able to figure out how to do so.
