Operation Viaduct [AEGIS]

Post by Sophie & Lantis on Feb 9, 2021 11:13:43 GMT
The intelligence from Enkidu had been troubling. A few moments after the BlackGaomon intelligence agent made his report, Sophie James, the leader of the AEGIS group was grateful that he got there in time.
For a while now, the digimon of the digital world had reacted in many different ways to the increasing amount of “chosen” humans that came across it. Most with curiosity, many with welcoming, but unfortunately also many with reactionary dislike.
For the most part, Sophie could understand why digimon would be threatened by humans. For a start there were over 7 billion of them, while she estimated the digimon population of the digital world was only in the millions. And from the point of view of someone looking in from the outside, humanity hadn't exactly painted a very pleasant resume for itself. This was something Sophie felt rather keenly, since as an Japanese-American by ancestry, she knew her great-grandfathers fought against each other 80 years ago in a terrible war.
But Sophie had long since come to peace with that. 80 years was a human lifetime, most people who were alive in those times were now dead, and surely time must move on. Unfortunately, it was a different matter with digimon.
For a start, when a digimon died in battle, that was not necessarily the end of them. Digimon often reincarnated upon destruction, and sometimes they would be reincarnated with grievances remembered. And she also knew from the history of DATS that they did terrible things to digimon of the digital world in recent memory, so that the hatred of humans among those digimon that remembered those days was strong. So strong in fact that they wanted to pay the humans back.
Even though the original organization that had committed all those atrocities in the digital world had long since disbanded, it did not help matters that another organization assumed their name and threatened to do similar things. But Sophie was unable to act against them. After all, AEGIS was a security group funded privately, while DATS enjoyed full backing by the Japanese government. If AEGIS was to still exist, it would be at the whim of DATS, and thus had been their agreement.
AEGIS therefore would take care of rounding up low level digimon that were causing trouble on Earth and send them back to the digital world, as well as try to educate new tamers who had become “chosen” about what digimon were and how they should take care of them.
However, DATS had given AEGIS free leave as to how they could act in the digital world. This new DATS would not repeat the mistake of the old, and conduct minimal action on the other side. Sophie realized this could be a new field of operations for AEGIS – they would act in the interest of protecting humans in the digital world.
And so she ordered operatives like Enkidu, and requested help from allies in KIZNA in this regard. So far they had solved some major problems, thwarting a terrorist bombing attack in Terminus City, destroying two Perfect level digimon in the Western Flatlands that were committing atrocities. And now it seemed there was another problem to be solved.
Enkidu reported that a cell of human-hating digimon were keen on targeting the city of Rosewood very soon. While they weren't strong enough to destroy the city directly, they were threatening enough to cause great harm to it. This, Sophie felt, was relevant to AEGIS. Rosewood was one of the most human-friendly cities of the digital world. And as Enkidu revealed the intentions of the terrorist digimon, she felt mildly sickened.
Apparently they intended to demolish a rail bridge on the main Terminus-Rosewood Trailmon line, ideally when a Trailmon was approaching it, presumably with humans in its carriages. This was too much for her to bear. She decided that immediate action was necessary.
“Thank you, Enkidu. I appreciate this information.” she said as she pulled out her D-Terminal to type an urgent message for everyone in AEGIS.
”Attention all members of AEGIS.
If you are able, please make your way to the digital world at once. Make your way to the Mainframe Hills for an urgent briefing. A situation has arisen in which we must respond. Innocent human and digimon lives are at stake. If you're here in AEGIS HQ, head to the Operations floor, we'll go together.
Regards, Sophie.”
As she sent this message, a few seconds later, she received one in response. A confirmation by her little brother Colin that he was on his way. She smiled, Colin was already in the digital world, so him being there would help out immensely. She hoped for at least half of AEGIS to help out with this operation. Furthermore, Enkidu was setting up the meeting site in the digital world.
With that in mind, Sophie turned to her partner Lantis. “Well, we'd best get ready.” she said, and raised her digivice against an empty panel of wall, and activated the Digiport function. It would take 5 minutes to charge, hopefully enough for them to prepare and move out.

Stacy was getting ready to head out to the Digital World. Granted she had no idea where she was going at the time as she slipped on her black leather jacket over her rarely worn AEGIS uniform. She didn't know why she chose to start wearing it but since she had it she figured, why not?
As she put on her backpack her D-Terminal began to beep. Picking it up she read the urgent message and with the threat of innocent lives at stake she grabbed her D-Tector before sending a message to Sophie saying she would meet them in the Digital World and bolted out the door. After catching a Trailmon that stopped long before her destination she brought out her D-Tector to call forth her motorcycle. Soon she reached the location and began waiting for Sophie and any other members of AEGIS to arrive at the indicated location while sitting on the ground after she recalled her motorcycle back into her D-Tector.

Post by Tadayoshi Teppei and Silence on Feb 10, 2021 16:32:29 GMT
The good news for Tadayoshi Teppei and Silence was that they were already in the digital world at the time the alert came. They had over half an hour to respond to the emergency call instead of a mere five minutes. Less good news was that they needed the extra time. The Spartan Training Grounds were a favorite spot for the team's xros experiments and training - specifically working on finding new combinations that work and practicing holding them. With thousands of potential combinations at disposal to try, it took a dedicated effort to find the ones that were both most stable and most useful, plus some practice with newer ones to keep them that way.
Interrupting them was no problem. Of course the team knew its duty, and they answered the call with a sense of urgency and Commandramon's foot firmly pressing the accelerator through the floor of Silence's armored transport. "Silence en route, ETA 25 D-minutes from STG," was the reply-all answer to Sophie's alert. Someone who knew the route between the Hills and the Grounds and was in the area might have been able to ask for a pickup along the way.
At some point during the trip, Dakota the Strabimon piped up, "Since when do we work this deep in the digital world? Y'know, on AEGIS pay."
"When the team was first recruited," Commandramon called into the rear cabin, "We prevented a gang invasion into the human world. But that was an imminent threat that was barely twenty kilometers from the main Trailmon station to the humans' world."
The avian digimon who gave her two cents used to be a Jetmon, but that was no longer the case. Recent struggles had forced the whole team dynamic to change, and some of the team itself even changed with it. It was a Jazamon who weighed in, "If we know human lives are in danger, that's good enough. Besides being a tragedy, missing humans means investigations into their whereabouts. We're within the scope of our duty."
This made the Strabimon chuckle a little, apparently amused. "That's a pretty broad interpretation of it, don't ya think?"
"Are you complaining about the extra work?"
Dakota's next action was to casually stretch his hands out and grab onto something which was at the time invisible, but when his hands closed the objects produced themselves: a pair of pistols woven from shadows that strikingly resembled SFP9-M's. The wolf stuck each one into a holster that produced itself when he made the motion to place it there. "I'm complaining that this isn't a regular thing, Lieutenant."
"I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but..." Even though Rashi the Orcamon was definitely more mature since his digivolution, he was still the kind and gentle thing he'd always been. It wasn't easy for him to risk rocking the boat like he was about to. "...we've been in the human world for a long time. It's not good that something bad is happening, but it feels kind of good to defend our own home, you know what I mean?" Now that he had feet he could strap himself into a seat and deploy with the rest of the crew as needed on land for the first time.
"I think we do," Tadayoshi agreed. It was highly unlikely for anyone to take offense in the first place, knowing the orca, but today especially. Despite a recent personal defeat, hard work and self-improvement had made this team a whole new force. New battle-ready forms replaced older, less effective ones. In spite of an imminent emergency, the army's morale was at an all-time high.
It was doubtful that the army would beat Sophie and Stacy to the meeting point if they diverted to make any pickups, but with luck they didn't give anybody a reason to become impatient either. Hopefully the both of them knew they had nothing to fear from an M1126 armored personnel carrier rolling up on them, even when it a fully functional flash grenade turret on top made it clear this rugged thing wasn't just a good way to move this many people; it was a battle vehicle in and of itself. When it parked, the rear bay opened and let Tadayoshi out while Commandramon hopped out the driver seat. "We're here to help," Tadayoshi called to the others.
"What's the situation?" Commandramon inquired. Dakota used Shadow Arms. -This digimon conjures from the shadows a pair of pistols painted extremely dark black which fire metallic rounds as well as much ammunition as he may need. These pistols fire metallic bullets, effectively increasing the range of Dakota's basic attacks from basic hand-to-hand and empowering them to the level of a no-cooldown ability. The fine aim these pistols require mean he doesn't have time to use an ability in the same post he attacks with the pistols.

The primary assignment in which John and his partners had explored the Digital World and helping out both humans and Digimon alike on their journey. Though they did not stay in the Digital World as permanent residents, the trio did make sure to visit the plane of existence on a near-daily basis. And this journey had brought them all closer together, as well as helped them gain a better standing with the group they were working for; AEGIS.
The last major incident in which the trio had helped involved a mysterious, ominous tower that had cropped up seemingly out of nowhere. A mission in which John and his Digimon Partners worked alongside a fellow AEGIS member, Tadayoshi, and his miniature Digimon army. There were others involved, too! Toki Akiyama, as well as Amelie and her daughter, Loire. At the very least, John would be happy that he got to work alongside his Commander again.
John rested in the comfortable bed in his quarters at AEGIS HQ. Casimeir and Shinra rested peacefully on the bed with him. The man idly scrolled through his social media feed on his phone, eyes reflecting the soft glow from the screen. Mainly he was checking in on his family's activities back home in the United States. But he also had to undergo a minor annoyance from the countless ads on the webpage regarding the holiday that was just around the corner.
"Maybe someday," he murmured.
Then, the beep came from his mounted Digivice. John clicked his phone to put it in sleep mode and then pocketed it before pulling up the message. "Cas, Shinra, we got a message from the boss. Let's get ready and head out."
After freshening up and splashing water on his face to clean it, John and his two Digimon Partners made their way to the Operations Floor with a sense of urgency. Even if he were not an AEGIS member, John would not pass up any opportunity to help innocent people and Digimon. Seeing that lives were at stake made the trio worry.
"What do you think's happening?" asked Casimeir, easily keeping pace with his partner's longer stride. "Another tower?"
"No telling," John replied. "But whatever it is, they won't be expecting what we'll have to throw at them. Let's just pray we can solve this peacefully."
It wasn't much longer before John, Casimeir, and Shinra arrived at the Operations Floor. They stepped through the doorway once the entrance slid open.
"John and company reporting," he announced.

Post by Vergil on Feb 11, 2021 1:12:52 GMT
Vergil organized the papers on his desk meticulously, making sure everything was where he needed it to be for the next day of work tomorrow. The folders of papers were properly sorted, easily accessible. The desk was wiped down and cleaned of pencil shavings, eraser residue, and mug rings. Nothing but two disinfecting wipes can’t handle.
Today was a relatively quiet day at AEGIS HQ--an odd feeling for him. Usually the office would be full of the other agents doing their own work, taking excessively long coffee breaks, or undertaking assignments out in the city or in the Digital World. For Vergil and his partners, Vee and Gummy, they were on desk duty, not by requirement, but by the young man’s choice.
The last assignment out-of-work assignment he had undertaken was stopping a pair of dangerous Ultimates--Taomon and Doumon--from further attacking an excavation site in the Folder Desert alongside with KIZNA member and Vergil’s now adopted brother, Bezil. In that battle, Vee and Gummy had evolved to the Ultimate level for the first and together with Bezil, they had vanquished their foes.
Their victory however, was a narrow one as all of them came close to getting killed. Vee and Gummy gradually recovered from their injuries, but Vergil however still felt the lingering phantom pains from the injuries he had sustained. He had come close to dying, and he would have if it wasn’t for his comrade and Owen’s intervention. He was bed-ridden in the Digital World for about two weeks before he had completely recovered. The only physical injury that was left from that battle was a permanent scar on his right cheek that was hidden behind a band-aid.
Vergil sighed and leaned back against his chair. Vee and Gummy were upstairs in the training dojo, trying out the sport that humans refer to as “kendo”. What can you do when your tamer literally does all the paperwork?
Then, Vergil’s D-Watch beeps with a notification. Pulling and reading the message, the young man’s eyes beamed in alertness. He took out his phone and texted Sophie that he was in the building finishing up work and will be there in a jiffy. After that, he got up from his chair and was about to make a mad dash upstairs, but stopped to look at a framed photograph on his desk.
He picked it up. It was a photograph with him, Vee, Gummy alongside Owen, Bezil, Matty and Jimmy. They were out in Y’s the day when he was discharged, out eating. He glanced at Owen with a gentle, sincere gaze before setting the photograph down.
“Watch over me, dad.” Vergil said, before racing down the hallway.
He raced up the stairs, up to the second floor and into the training dojo where Vee and Gummy, decked in kendo clothing were “attempting” to imitate the kendo master they saw on television. “Attempting” meaning that they were just goofing around and hitting each other with their shinai.
“Yo guys. We got a job, and it’s a big one.” he stated. “Sophie sent out a wide message stating that she wants to meet all of us. Whatever it is, it can’t be good, so lets meet her next door.”
“All right!” The twins said in unison. They took off their kendo gear and followed Vergil to the Operations room, which was right next door thankfully. Vergil didn’t want to go up another flight of stairs.
The doorway slid open. Along Sophie and Lantis were three agents that he hasn’t seen before. Introductions would come a little bit. For now, Vergil looked at Sophie with quirked eyebrow.
“Sophie, please don’t tell this alert is some practical joke. Well, it kills me to say it, but I- I would be really impressed.” He quipped, trying his best to lighten the mood for a brief moment.

Post by Johan Walker on Feb 11, 2021 3:23:03 GMT
In Johan's room at AEGIS HQ, the young teen and his Dokamon partner stared at his computer screen as the Skype ringtone played from the speakers. He stared at the profile image for a bit, a family photo of himself, his sister and his parents before Johan left for Tokyo a few years ago. It had been a while since he had gotten a call from his family, and a lot has happened since then. A lot that Johan didn't wanna burden his family with by telling them about it.
Still, Johan wanted to see his family again, even if it was through a video call. He hovered the mouse over the accept call button and clicked, opening the image of his mother, father and little sister in that order from left to right sitting on the couch in their apartment in Minneapolis. "Hi Mum, Dad, Sophie," Johan greeted them with a smile but said it with a quiet voice. Dokamon could be seen politely bowing to Johan's family on their end as well.
"Johan, my babyyyy," Johan's mother cooed to her son through the screen, clearly wanting to hug him. "How's my little agent been? Have you been keeping up with your studies?"
"I've been great, Mum, and you don't have to call me that, you know. And yes I have been, getting straight A's just like back home. This country is amazing, you really need to come to visit sometime."
"Well, we've been thinking about that..." Johan's father would say, his face darkening a bit. "Johan, we're always happy to see you, but the reason we're calling is to tell you that... well, we want you to come home."
Both Johan's and Dokamon's eyes widened. "What?"
"It's because of the Digimon," Sophie said in a matter-of-fact tone of voice. "Mom and Dad don't like them, and rightfully so." Of course this kind of speaking was earned by a glare from her mother.
"Mum, what is she talking about...?"
"There's too many weird things happening in Tokyo, Johan, and thanks to you we know that Digimon are behind most of it. We know what happened at Golden Week, Digimon attacked the city, for Christ's sake! You were probably there for it! We already lost Ruby, I can't stand the thought of losing you when you're all the way on the other side of the world. I know your job is to stop Digimon like this and keep the order, but I'm still your mother and I want you to come home."
"You can't do this!" Johan argued, now standing up from his chair. "I have a life built up here already, I have friends, family, co-workers... you can't just expect me to drop everything and come home, especially now that I'm an active member of something bigger than us! I can defend myself, you don't have to worry about me!"
"You're still a minor in America, and we are your parents," Johan's father commanded. "So you are going to listen to us, got it? We already enrolled you for online classes back home, if you won't come home then we're going to come down there and drag you back."
"I'm not going anywhere," Johan growled towards his parents. He had never spoken to them like that before, so of course everyone was shocked, even Dokamon.
"If I may add to this-" Dokamon tried to say, but was interrupted when Johan's D-Terminal made an alert sound. Of course Johan opened it up to read the message, seeing that Sophie had sent an alert calling for all human-world AEGIS operatives to meet in the Operations Room. Johan looked back towards his family with an angry expression on his face.
"Work's calling. We're not done discussing this," was all Johan said before he ended the call. "Come on Dokamon, we gotta go, something more serious than this is going on." Around five minutes later, Johan, Dokamon, Speed and Psych had made their way to the Operations Floor. Johan was now decked out in his AEGIS uniform complete with black trench coat, while the Digimon looked the same as always. Also there were Vergil and his partners, Vee and Gummy, as well as John Davis and Casimeir along with Shinra, who was apparently Casimeir's sister. And of course, Sophie and Lantis were also there as well.
"Hey Lanty," the Speedramon would almost immediately greet his boyfriend as soon as he entered the room. "This may be the first time you get to see my combat moves in action, hm?"
Johan, Psych exclusively told the young agent with his telepathy, I can sense that you're upset. I would not normally pry, but I'm willing to guess that this mission will require full concentration from everyone. Is there anything you need to discuss?
No, Psych, I'm fine, Johan responded via thought, since he knew Psych could read thoughts. I know you can just read my mind to see if I'm lying, but don't. It's not something I need to think about right now, okay? I promise it won't affect my ability to do this assignment.
Understood, Psych would reply, and that would be the end of that for now. The four agents would then begin to listen intently to what Sophie had to report about this situation...

Sophie awaited the responses. Ah, good, Stacy was on the job. Sophie was rather curious about how the spirit wielder would perform on this. So that was one, what about the rest?
Tadayoshi was also going to be present. That made Sophie feel that they were really all-in on this. Herself working in operation with the young Xros General and her younger brother, both very strong and experienced members of AEGIS, this raised her confidence.
“Is that excitement I see, Sophie?” Lantis asked his partner. Sophie at once altered her expression.
“No, just relief.” she said. “Seems we’re really going all-in on this…” her thoughts were distracted by the arrival of others in the operations room. John, Vergil and Johan, along with their digimon. “Heh, wow, I don’t think we’ve ever had such a complete team for a mission before.” she remarked.
Lantis’s stoic expression of course melted when Speed greeted him. Ah, how he liked that drake digimon so much. And they were going to be on a mission together as well, that was excellent news. "I very much look forward to it, darling." he replied.
Once everyone was present, Sophie would speak to them while her digiport charged and opened. “Glad you all got here on time, guys. Big situation in the digital world. We’ll be meeting up with Colin, Stacy and Tadayoshi on the other side. Anti-human faction digimon are planning out an attack, but we’re gonna thwart them.”
“Ah, Sophie, just checking…” Lantis spoke quietly before the portal opened. “If all of AEGIS is in the digital world, who’s going to cover for us in the meantime?”
“DATS, I guess.” Sophie said, with a shrug. It wasn’t her problem if something happened outside of their control, like another control spire being placed in the human world. After all, the agreement for the continuation of AEGIS's existence was that DATS would take the front of digimon activity. Half a smile crossed her face at the thought of that, but now was not the time to dwell upon it. The portal opened completely, and could allow their passage.
On the other side, they would come across a quickly built outpost on the Mainframe Hills. Sophie was pleased to see Enkidu already present, having already set up a mobile briefing shelter, complete with a communications and radar array. According to Lantis, it was in a good position too, on the top of a hill with excellent view on all sides.
“Nice job, Enkidu.” Sophie said to the BlackStefilmon, who had given her the intelligence in the first place.
“Thanks, Sophie.” Enkidu replied, pointing down through the valley. “That’s the main line there, we’re 20 kilometers away from the bridge that they’re targeting. I didn’t want to risk getting closer, didn’t want to notify them.”
“Alright, good call.” Lantis stated, adding his approval to the location as well. “Just hope it’s a sufficient landing place…”
“Yo, we got here 5 minutes ago!” came a familiar voice. Sophie and Lantis looked to see Bellamy calling over to them, while Colin and Luke were raising an AEGIS flag to mark their base. Daedalus was landed on a small plateau on the hill’s other side, the mecha-draconic digimon seeming content and determined for the mission ahead.
“Well then, that’s almost everything accounted for.” Sophie said, rubbing her hands with excitement. She had been prepared for ages for a mission like this, and was eager to get started. Once Stacy and Tadayoshi arrived, she would first make sure they were all prepared. Obviously there had been few moments when so many AEGIS members were present in the same place, so she wanted to make sure all were acquainted and accounted for before beginning with the conference. Once she thought enough time had passed for them to get used to others present, she would ask – “Are we ready to begin the briefing?”

The improvised camp was easy enough to spot for Stacy even with her less than stellar eyesight. That and being right outside the camp made it impossible for her to miss as she caught sight of Sophie, Lantis, and Enkidu talking with one another. Not far away was Colin, Luke, and Bellamy but she knew there would likely be more members soon to come.
Making her way into the camp she approached Sophie, Lantis, and Enkidu and asked "I got a message a short time ago about innocent lives at stake. What's going on?" Her voice was calm and after some previous adventures she had been on she knew she had to keep as level headed as possible or she wouldn't be much help to anyone. Good thing she was far mellower in temperament when it came to the youngest of her two brothers but even then she still appreciated both of them when she needed them.

While Tadayoshi handled the pleasantries - greeting his comrades, small talk while they waited, etc. - Commandramon went straight to work. He barely had to walk three steps from the van before he knew one thing he wanted to try. "Specialist."
Commandramon didn't even have to say his name or make eye contact with a little Searchmon. He also didn't have to give the Searchmon, Kamushi, a specific order. When the captain next looked at that radar station, Kamushi knew what to do. "Tap into that signal and see what I can do with it - BZZZZZZ - on it, big boss." Kamushi's very next act was to perch himself at the highest possible point. When he got comfy, the dish on his back extended slightly and started to rotate, then move on its X and Y axis, and he'd keep going until he thought he could match that that radar station, at which point the bug would do whatever he could to boost it and aid it in its purpose.
The rest of the crew responded quickly to Sophie's call to action. The boy made sure to make eye contact at least once with everyone there, and the captain himself couldn't help a sideways glance at everyone in Vergil's party before returning his attention to Sophie. While a Jazamon flew to ground at the general's other side and his Strabimon Dakota stood behind, the rest of his team retreated to his Loader for the sake of space. Everyone on Silence knew that Kamushi could multitask, listening to the briefing and do what he was doing at the same time. Kamushi is a Fly On The Wall. -[Noncombat] Fly On The Wall (passive): With this digimon's sensitive dish, he may be able to intercept, decrypt, and listen in on communications and broadcasts over airwaves. Kamushi can still listen using Detection Program Sigma. -Detection Program Sigma: This digimon's sight, hearing, and sixth sense for other digimon are all much sharper than normal, allowing it to see more sharply, hear softer sounds, and sense other digimon from further away than most. He can tune out irrelevant environmental noise to hear only what he wants to hear as well as track several different sound sources at once without becoming confused of overwhelmed. Attempting to distinguish too many different sounds at once may still be difficult.

Two more members had come to the Operations Floor. Two of which John and company hadn't had the pleasure of meeting before. With a light nod and grin, John sought to introduce himself and the members of his small team.
"Hey there," he offered. "Name's John Davis. I'm looking forward to working with you guys. This is my team, Casimeir the Agumon and Shinra the Armadillomon."
Both Digimon waved in a friendly manner. "Nice to meet you all!" Casimeir chimed.
A cloud of worry found itself drifting over the man's mind. He knew that the call to meet the other agents was under some serious circumstances, as to his remembrance, this was the very first time the group of Digital and Human protectors came together in such great numbers. The pre-briefing offered by the team leader, and creator of AEGIS, didn't help quell the worries that John had.
Casimeir and Shinra, eyeing their human companion, noticed this before anyone. Shinra pawed lightly at the man's pant leg.
"You alright, John?" she asked, only wishing to comfort him. "What's on your mind?"
The muscles in John's body tensed and his jaw tightened. But, it was always good to be open with one's friends, and team.
"Just troubled," he finally admitted.
"Well?" asked the Agumon. "About what?"
The human exhaled a heavy sigh. "Just mentally preparing myself for what we'll be dealing with. An Anti-Human group of Digimon...Whoever's the ringleader doesn't sound like someone who'd be willing to talk and change their ways."
Casimeir and Shinra exchanged a look before addressing their friend again.
"Well that's never stopped you from trying before, right?" Casimeir asked, smiling lightly. "And what's important is that you don't give up on anyone. Human nor Digimon."
Shinra nodded before chiming in. "And you've always been the person to take charge when it comes to protecting others. And who knows? Maybe our actions will help change their ways?"
A light smile crept its way to John's lips. "Thanks, guys. And you're right."
John quickly cleared his throat. "Anyway. Let's head on over to the Digital World so we can get this underway."
Upon arriving in the world populated by Digital Monsters, John and his group all gave a warm smile to Stacy and Tadayoshi. "Hey, you two!" he offered, giving a wave. "Nice to see you again, Tadayoshi. And uh..." well, this was embarrassing. "Actually, I don't think we've met before. The name's John. And these are my teammates. Casimeir and Shinra."
The pair of Digimon gave a friendly wave as well. "Hi there!" they chimed together.
And now with the introductions getting out of the way, John and the others thought it was best to give their undivided attention to their team Lead, Sophie. All John was aware of at this moment was that there was a group of Anti-Human Digimon, and they had plans to attack the bridge.

Gummy turned towards Vergil, placing his hands on his hips with a sly grin. “Impressing you, Specs, is the easy thing I’ll do all day.” Vee nodded his head in approval, snickering.
“I mean, all we have to do is find a fresh pair of sweet sneakers, and you’ll be geeking out for hours,” Vee explained.
Vergil took a moment and exchanged looks with his Digimon. Then he crossed his arms, turning away. If one were to pay close attention, his face broke up by a light shade of red, and the young man wasn’t doing his best to hide it.
“Damn, am I that impressionable?” He mumbled.
They were soon meeted by Johan and his Digimon. Accounting for them, and the other agent and named John and his two Digimon, everyone that was stationed at AEGIS HQ was here. This was the first time this room has been this packed before, and Vergil couldn’t help but agree with Sophie’s remark. “That makes two of us. Usually a member is assigned to a mission of their own if the need calls for it. But since you called all of us, something tells me that this one’s gonna be a... long one.” He let out a sigh. “Good grief. And just when I got done with all that paperwork, too.”
Vee and Gummy exchanged a look before the V-mon gave their tamer an elbow nudge.
“Aww, c’mon, Vergil,” Vee said reassuringly. "With all of us here, we’ll get done with this in no time.”
Vergil shrugged. He wasn’t too worried about the situation. Anti-Human Digimon was something they’ve already dealt with before. In fact, it was how he got this job at AEGIS, thanks to Colin. But what did concern him was since everyone was called to deal with this mission, who was going to be stationed here? Thankfully, Sophie’s answer made Vergil recall that DATS has jurisdiction in Shibuya, so any threads coming here, they’ll deal with them. Huh...guess DATS was good for something after all: cleanup duty.
The portal at the end of the operations room would soon open, allowing everyone to cross over into the Digital World. Once there, Vergil’s outfit changed from his regular attire to a new DW attire: a yellow bomber jacket, black v-neck t-shirt, white techwear pants, and white, black and yellow sneakers. Vee and Gummy were both awed at his new appearance—Vergil, too. He then remembered that his previous outfit was ruined in their battle with the priest twins a while ago—a battle that almost killed him. This change of attire was definitely caused by his D-Watch.
Reaching the outpost, they were greeted by Colin and his twins, Luke and Bellamy, alongside Stacy, and...Silence. Were this not a potentially crucial operation, Vergil’s group might have given more a response if any, but there was none. Merely a glance and that was it. The situation at hand was more important than a single Commandramon.
Now that they were here, Vergil sat down on top of a nearby closed container, awaiting Sophie’s debriefing.

Oh wow, it seemed like almost everyone was in on this mission... Johan had never seen such a big group of AEGIS agents all piled up together at once like this. The situation must be big, or at least it'll get handled relatively well.
Johan smirked a bit when he saw Lantis' stoic face completely melt away when he started talking to Speed. The two really did care for each other, and that made Johan feel pretty good to see that relationship flourish. Dokamon, however... "Just be careful to not let your affection affect the mission, you two," Dokamon said, not even looking at Speed or Lantis as he walked past them.
"We won't, we won't... and who gives you any right to tell us what to do?"
"I trust you and Lantis completely, I am merely being cautious and reminding you two. I do not mean any ill intent at all."
"Ah, I gotcha. Still as monotone as ever I see, eh?"
While Johan, Dokamon and the twins didn't like that DATS would be looking after the human world while they were gone, they really didn't have much choice in the manner right now. They all walked through the Digiport that was opened up for them and ended up at an outpost in Mainframe Hills. The top of the hill gave a good view, and Enkidu was on the scene now as well, with the mobile briefing shelter already fully set up. Enkidu mentioned that they were twenty kilometers from the bridge that they were targeting. "Okay, I think I see what the basic situation is," Johan commented.
Once Colin, Luke, Bellamy and everyone else showed up, Sophie asked if they were ready to begin the briefing. "As ready as we'll ever be. Enkidu said that a bridge was being targeted, is it a supposed terrorist attack? As much detail as possible would go a long way."
