"Y'know, you always got something good to say," she admitted freely after he talked a little about his past love life. "Not saying I'm against that, 'cause I'm not. But when you don't really fit the norms here like me honest praise from a man is hard to come by. I should've known it'd take a foreigner to turn my luck around! Lucky me, you're a good looking smooth talker, too!" It made her wonder what men were like in America, and if Drake was the exception or the rule. It was an irrelevant thought either way she supposed, because she was very happy with him as her date.
"Just was seeing the sights then, huh? Japan's good for that kinda stuff no doubt. Shibuya especially seems like it has its own entire world hidden away too, heh." Drake had made her curious to know what it was that made him stay here in this city in particular. Her off hand comment about another world was only part of the reason she was staying in Shibuya, personally.
"That's what I like to hear," said the woman with a coy smile in response to Drake's last sentence. "Don't worry though, I'm sure you'll feel at home here, soon. And if you ever need company you just let me know, yeah? For you, not even blue lights are gonna slow me down." Then again, Yasu had never liked stopping for police if they were chasing her, but that was a story for another time.
"I may even have to show you that secret world one day," she joked with a chuckle.

Listening to her speak, it was strange to hear some of the things that she said, like her not fitting the norms. Which while true, that was what made her stand out to him, something unique and beautiful within the sea of 'normalcy'. Then again he had to remind himself that there were different cultural standards as well and could only smile warmly at Yasuko. “All I do is speak the truth, if others are too caught up in normalcy then it's all the better for me. I get to enjoy the company of an amazing woman, I'd say we both turned out lucky,” giving her hand a squeeze with a wink. The most important part was that they enjoyed each other's company.
Visiting the sights was a good way to put it, that explained things pretty well and let's be honest, he was still enjoying the sights. Then she mentioned the secret world, “Yeah, I'm starting to learn that there's a lot more to things than what meets the eye.” The fact that news of some of it hadn't spread any further either was an impressive feat in itself. He had to wonder what else Shibuya might have to offer, so far it was looking like he found the best place to stay. Which brought his attention to something else, if he was going to be staying longer, then he would need to make better arrangements.
A smirk spread at her words, she was happy to have him that long, eh? That was good to know, but her next words were a bit surprising as well. “I'll make sure to keep that in mind, but on that note, I guess I'll need your number,” though he was curious about the blue light comment, his focus was on the more important offer she made to him. How could he turn down an offer like that? “If you ever need anything yourself, feel free to give me a call,” didn't matter when or what it was, he'd be there.
“I look forward to that day,” he smirked, though he was curious as to what kind of secret world she was referring to now. That could wait until later, right now that things were set for him to be staying, he was going to see about a couple of things. It was nice to have a more solid reason to look into a more permanent residence here in Japan, which meant he would need a house or apartment now.

"Yeah, both of us getting lucky sounds about right." The woman chuckled at his wink. Her smile remained when he commented on Shibuya's secrets, too. "You don't know how right you are, Drake." She hadn't expected to encounter the digital world, let alone any other plane of existence here. Then there was her newfound ability to transform into a talking cat. Shibuya definitely could get strange if you stuck your nose in the right places.
"Let me get my phone and you can just call yours from it real quick, then." Yasu finally released her date's hand as she patted down and dug into the pockets on her jacket. Both hands came back out with something. One hand held her phone, while the other held her D-Tector digivice. She didn't give the digivice more than a passing glance before stuffing it back in her pocket as her other hand unlocked her phone.
"Here," she said handing her phone to Drake, "..just give yourself a call and we'll both have each other's number!"
The wallpaper on her phone was that of a BlackTailmon taking a selfie with the phone on top of a tall building in Terminus City in the Digital World. To people unaware of digimon it came off as a cute fantastical picture. There were even a few flying digimon in the background.

There was a point that Drake was starting to wonder if his mind was getting a little overactive with the way it was hearing things. Though, it was probably more just the night going so well, but the thoughts were probably not appropriate here. Thankfully, her next words snapped his mind to a different focus, and caused a slight eye raise from him. Yasuko and he were talking rather similarly about something in Shibuya, but it couldn't be the same thing could it? “I have a pretty good habit in that regard,” he joked.
“That works,” it'd make things simple at least, which was always a bonus. When her hand moved from his, he left it in the same spot for a few moments. It was weird how the simple notion of holding hands had changed things, flexing his fingers the lack of warmth that had been there was a strange sensation. It was then out of the corner of his eye, he saw a familiar shape move and it wasn't her phone that caught his attention. He would have to ask to be sure, that would wait until later, right now he focused on the task at hand.
“Thanks,” he replied, and then the wallpaper kind of cemented the thoughts that were racing through his head. With a few presses he had called himself and registered the numbers on the phones, handing hers back before leaning a bit closer so he could whisper, ”I think we both might know of the same secret world.” Lifting the sleeve of his jacket he showed his own digivice resting in its cradle.
This night was really taking an unexpected turn, the more he learned about her, the more he was drawn to learn about his date. So far, he had to admit, he was liking what he was discovering.

"Thank you, Drake," she said with a smile. The process of exchanging numbers had gone fairly quickly. Yasu seemed quite pleased with herself as she started to put her phone back into her pocket.
The woman raised a brow curiously though as Drake leaned in close and lowered his voice. She looked skeptical for a moment at what he had said, but when he pulled back his jacket sleeve both her brows raised in pleasant surprise. Her hand reached out to lightly grab his forearm and prevent him from lowering his sleeve back to cover his digivice as her magenta eyes scanned it with interest.
"Hold up, there's a wrist mount for these things?" she asked excitedly but quietly. She didn't even realize there might be accessories for digivices, but with Terminus being so large and developed as it was Yasu supposed that made sense. Then again, a wrist mount would probably get in the way of her gloves.
"Have you.." Yasu paused to quickly glance at the cook in front of them still working the flat top grill. He seemed to be absorbing himself with his work after having awkwardly watched the pair kiss. "..you know? Changed before?" she finished as she glanced back to Drake.

It was a strange feeling, he had been on dates before all over the place, but giving Yasuko his number was making his heart race. How often did it happen that he felt like a kid again, being so anxious with a woman? Especially since he was usually bad at this kind of romantic thing, but now it seemed like the date was going smoothly all things considered.
Her reaction was a good indicator that he was right, they were both aware of that world and just hadn't realized it. The grabbing of his arm was a surprise though, it seemed she had an interest in the mount of the digivice. He couldn't tell how useful that was, it would be incredibly difficult to take it from him.
“I guess so, I kind of found it with the device itself when I arrived,” which was still a weird thing to just find something like this in your pocket. He legit thought someone reverse pick pocketed him just to put this weird thing in there. Still, it was something that he would keep for as long as he could now, there was an entire world to explore.
“Hm?” he raised an eyebrow as she started to say something then continued after making sure the chef was distracted. Then she asked if he had changed yet, and although he had gone to the Digital World itself that was one thing he forgot to try while he was there. Kind of slipped his mind given that there was such a large city to explore. “Not yet, actually. I kind of got sidetracked with other things,” he chuckled. Though he would probably have to try and get back into the Digital World to give it a shot.
“What's it like?” his curiosity piqued, he figured he'd get an idea of what to expect. Though with the photo on the phone, a dumb thought popped into his head and with it a quiet chuckle to himself. How many people could say they actually had this kind of experience on a date?

She thought it was interesting that he had just found his digivice with the mount already attached. From what little she knew from other humans in the Digital World, that usually wasn't the case. Then again, most people found their digivices in their own special ways.
"Hmm. Makes you wonder what other kinda goodies Terminus got for these things. Although, I think people with physical partners get more use out of their devices than we do." She leaned back in her seat and folded her arms across her chest, thinking out loud. "Maybe there's still a way for us to get friends like that, but I'd have to ask around more."
She glanced back to Drake and chuckled at his question. If they really did have the same relationship with digimon, he was in for a treat.
"I guess it depends on what you change into, but it's definitely something I'm not giving up without a fight. It's a little weird at first because you're so used to being you, but I think the spirits do a good job of picking people they would have been good friends with in life. Before you know it it'll feel natural, and there's all the new things you can do, too!"
Yasu leaned her shoulder against Drake's as she grinned, still keeping her arms folded across her chest in an almost challenging look. Another mischievous glint appeared in her magenta eyes as she asked:
"Hey, after dinner... Show me yours if I show you mine?"

“Yeah, from what I've seen so far that place is like the human imagination set free,” which was an interesting thought in itself. The time he did spend there technology-wise it seemed to surpass what humans could do, but at the same time seemed oddly limited in certain aspects. Still, he wouldn't be surprised if there were even more surprises that would pop up. “I don't really know what you're referring to, but I'm sure there's stuff we've yet to fully discover, yeah?” it made sense in his head at least. There was probably stuff that they could do all sorts of things for them.
Her answer while it did have some information was left vague as well, it seemed people didn't want to spill the beans on the experience. Fair enough, “Alright, that sounds like it could be fun.” So, whatever this spirit was, they were likely to have some kind of common interests it seemed. Which was good? It still seemed weird that these spirits seemed to have a presence, what was the limit to their influence? His thoughts were interrupted by Yasuko leaning against his shoulder with a somewhat challenging expression to her body. A sly smirk spread, she had a way with words, he had to give her that.
“I can agree to that,” at the very least there was a bit more of an incentive for it. This was one wild date, he had to admit, from their meeting through to the kiss and now they would be transforming for each other. Not a normal date by most standards, but it was certainly fun throughout. “We'll have t find a nice quiet spot for out little show,” he chuckled. It be rather awkward to try explaining to any onlookers just what was going on otherwise. Not that it wouldn't be fun to mess with people.

"You got that right," she said in agreement to his observation about Terminus. In some areas though she was sure the world's designer must have been on drugs or something. "I heard the Digital World even got floating islands, and its own moon you can go to, too!" There were probably even other wonders that she didn't know about yet, but that wasn't gonna stop her from finding them eventually.
"Oh, and some people, 'tamers' or 'generals' as they like to be called," at which point Yasu rolled her eyes and shook her head at the titles to show how much she cared for them, "..they have partners like we do, but their partners are still alive. Don't really know any of those people myself, though; still if you ask me, 'tamer' is a terrible replacement for 'friend.' Digis seem just as smart as the rest of us from what I've seen." The woman shrugged as she focused a thoughtful stare at the counter in front of them. She didn't quite like 'spirit wielder' very much either, but she wasn't about to give up her newfound power, either.
After Drake agreed to show her his digimon form later though, the excitement came back to her eyes as she glanced back up at the man.
"Weeell, I normally don't mind raising a little hell, but since this is a night for the two of us? I guess you can get a front row seat to a private showing." The woman chuckled as she lightly nudged his arm with an elbow.
"Your yakisoba," called out the chef as he moved their noodles and beef onto a large serving plate on the counter. Two smaller plates and utensils were provided on either side of the entree.
"Ah! Thank you for the meal, Uncle!" Sitting upright all of a sudden Yasuko clapped her hands together and bowed her head slightly. This was probably the most formal Drake would see her get, but she always appreciated a good meal. "Could we get a bottle of sake as well, please?"
"Hah, yes of course. I'll be right back," the cook said with a nod before leaving them.

“Floating islands and its own moon? That place has got a lot more than I thought it did,” just how expansive was the Digital World that it could have its own moon. There was so much more to learn about that place that it was making him want to just do a deep dive to see as much as he could in a trip. When she began to talk about the other types of people that were in that world, he raised an eyebrow slightly at not only their titles but the descriptions of them. There was a lot of variety with the humans that had access to that world as well, it seemed.
“Tamers or Generals, eh? Those sound a bit odd,” especially the later, a general? What did that actually mean in terms of the world? Although it seemed they had actual Digimon as partners, where as Yasuko and himself turned into the Digimon. Thinking things over, he probably preferred his own way to that of either of the other groups simply because it meant that he could fight. “Oh for sure, not only that but their personalities seem as diverse as any human's as well,” just from the brief interactions he had on his visit that was something obvious. These creatures were pretty close to humans in most regards, though they had a lot more power to them.
Her eyes lit up once more as he agreed to the little exchange, and an offer of a private show. Chuckling he really had to give it to her, she had a way with words,”Well, what can I say, I enjoy private art displays.” Maybe a little corny, but it worked, plus maybe he could throw her off a bit and see what came of it.
There food was ready and all things considered he kind of forgot to watch the guy work, but he was sure it was impressive. “Thank you for the meal,” he imitated the movements of Yasuko, while it probably wasn't the most formal way, it was still closer to proper etiquette for him to do that. With being brand new to the area he still wasn't caught up on the proper way of doing things within the culture itself.
Then the sake was ordered, this was looking to really turn into an exciting evening, he was looking forward to just what was in store. Good drinks, good food, amazing company, how could this evening get an better than right now?

"Hell, the Digital World sure got a lot of similarities to our world, but even then it's like hopping into a movie or video game. Especially as a spirit wielder like us. Don't get too cocky, though; Pain and injuries are a real thing for us too."
Truly the Digital World was a very special place. The questions of how and why it existed had crossed Yasuko's thoughts every now and then, but without any real way to answer those curiosities she had never paid them much mind in the end. Eventually she'd get around to seeing all the interesting places in person, and that'd be good enough for her.
Being compared to an art display was a sweet notion, she had to give him that one. Yasuko hung around a bad crowd most of the time so refined compliments were rare. It would take a lot more than that to make her blush, but she gave Drake a warm, grateful smile. She was also glad to see him imitate her thanks to the cook. Foreigners could get away with a fair bit in Japan, but it never hurt to be thankful to people who made your food.
Taking a pair of chopsticks in her hand she then picked up one of the thin slices of beef from the big plate. Her gaze returned to Drake.
"So, you've been here a week, right? Figure out how to use chopsticks yet?" Yasu gave the man a cheeky grin as she held the piece of meat up for Drake to try.
"And hey, if you're looking for a place, why not try the Digital World? Lots of humans have jobs and live there, too. You might not have noticed if you haven't been there long, but time flows differently there as well. For every day in our world, seven days pass in the Digital World. It's a really good place if you need time to think about something in our world."

“Oh yeah? I think I heard that before, I'll have to be careful about what I do then,” if there was some kind of pain and injury transference, then it wouldn't hurt to be careful. It made sense as to why there would be that sort of thing as well, it was sort of like game balance for the Digital World. A spirit wielder could be a dangerous force if it didn't have to consider the drawbacks of getting hurt. Still, there were a lot of opportunities that could present themselves.
All the talk of the Digital World was leading to some entertaining ideas that could be put into fruition soon, it might make things fun. Drake would have to see about a couple of things before that though, no better time than the present either. When she smiled warmly at the compliment, he marked it as a win and would try to see what kind of reaction he could receive. Then she picked up a pair of chopsticks before teasing him about their usage, which he could only chuckle at given how many tourists didn't know that.
However, when she offered the meat to him, he raised an eyebrow. Who could resist an offer of being fed? Taking the meat that was offered, the taste was pretty good, not being entirely familiar with cooking he could only say it was good. However, just for a bit of cheekiness on his own end he pick up a set of chopsticks himself to return the favor. Listing a piece of meat for her this time, a playful wink accompanying the gesture. “I think I do okay with them, what do you think?”
“That could work, I'll look around both areas and see if there's something that catches my attention,” that would probably allow for the best options to present themselves. “Really? That I didn't know, that could actually come in really handy,” that was something new to him. Still, he would think on that later, right now he had a few little ideas floating through his head for the moment.
“To get to know you better, I have a couple questions, if you don't mind?” he paused to let her answer, he didn't really think it would bother her, but things weren't always clear cut.

Yasu nodded at his confirmation about injuries. She hadn't suffered any herself yet, but it was good to hear that it seemed to be common knowledge for most spirit wielders. If no one had told her she might have tested that rule to her own detriment.
She seemed pleased when Drake ate from her chopsticks, and was in turn surprised when he demonstrated that he knew how to use a pair himself. When offered the slice of beef Yasu happily leaned towards Drake to eat it.
"I think.." Her voice trailed off into a pleased hum at the taste of their food before she continued. "..you're full of surprises, Drake. I like that, and I like you." She'd return the playful wink. She then nodded as he considered what she said about living in the Digital World. As she listened Yasu started to move some noodles and beef onto one of the dining plates for herself.
"There's a lot of odd jobs around the different cities and towns too, so definitely check out your options. I might try to find a place in Whitewater, myself. I hear the Southern Tropics region are where a lot of partying happens, heh."
When asked if he could ask her some questions the woman paused to give him a sidelong glance before chuckling.
"Sure, ask away as long as you're not a cop!" She didn't bother explaining what she meant by that, and started eating a little as he got his questions sorted.

It was a good reaction he got from her when he brought the chopsticks up, showing that he did have at least some practice using them. He wasn't one to really shrug off trying to adapt to local customs, he was a guest so it was up to him to learn these things. Though the language was a bit trickier, there were so many little tricks to it that it was confusing for him to pick up that well. Then again, English was probably the same way for others.
“I like that kind of thinking, and I like you as well,” not that it wasn't obvious, she was one of the only people to get him to relax like this. Watching as she moved some of the noodles and beef to her own plate, he followed suit, it was a first eating at a place like this so he would follow her lead. Whoever recommended this place to Yasu had good taste in food, that was for sure.
“Southern Tropics, huh? Sounds like a fun place, looks like I'll have to take a week to explore as much as I can,” which if her estimate was accurate would essentially give him seven weeks in the Digital World? That would be something to get used, there would also need to be a supply run for that trip. Though he wondered if there was a place like where the farm, that would probably the most comfortable place to set up. Then again for the time being he would just have to learn the Digital World itself, there were probably lots of hidden things.
“Nah, not a cop,” he doubted that he'd make a good one anyways. “Alright, couple simple questions to start then and to make it fair you can ask me questions you have. What are your favorite food and drink?” it was starting simple, but there was a somewhat ulterior motive for asking this as well.

While it was already obvious that he liked her back, who didn't love hearing that kinda stuff? This was a pretty good date as far as Yasuko was concerned! A lot of Japanese men wanted a quiet trophy girlfriend, but clearly she wasn't about that kind of life. She felt comfortable just being herself, and that counted for a hell of a lot to her.
"A week, huh?" echoed the woman curiously as she cast another sly look in his direction, "..that's a long vacation, ain't it? Offer still stands if you get lonely during it, big guy." With the hand that wasn't holding her chopsticks she stuck out her thumb and pinky as she raised it to the side of her head, gesturing that he could always give her a call whenever. When Drake asked her his questions next she didn't even hesitate on answering.
"Tonkatsu, curry, and rice!" She didn't even need to think about that reply, despite enjoying their current meal a great deal. "The crunchy exterior and moist interior of a good fresh tonkatsu, dipped in a spicy curry.. I know we're already eating, but the thought still makes me hungry!" The woman chuckled as a sheepish and guilty look took over her face. Well, to be fair it's what Drake had asked for.
"As for drinks, I'd have to say Kirin's lemon soda! Although, Kirin makes a decent malt beer, too?" Yasuko seemed a bit torn on this decision, and lightly chewed on the end of her chopsticks in thought. "..but if we're talking booze, then malt whisky is what I've been into lately?" Ultimately she figured that was as good an answer as Drake was gonna get, so she left it at that.
"As a question for you, though: what kinda fun do you like getting into? You got the body for sports, but you seem like too nice a guy to get physical with anyone." Saying he was well built would be an understatement in her opinion. Maybe it was just a normal thing for foreigners, but Drake easily stood out among the natives here.
