“Yeah, gives me time to explore and check out each area,” plus if there was a time difference he wouldn't miss a lot in the real world. Yasu spoke about her offer still being good if he got lonely, “Of course, I'll probably call a couple time during my trip. Although, I guess depending on time it could be weird,” it was one of those things where he didn't want to be weird with the amount of calls. He'd have to work on that stuff, there's so much nuance to work between the worlds to make sure nothing seemed awkward. The immediate answer to his question caused a small chuckle, at least she knew what she enjoyed and could easily answer.
“I'll make sure to remember that,” he'd have to look for some recipes and maybe a class on cooking, normally he could cook decent burgers or similar. This kind of food he would need to try practicing to see if he could make it as a surprise at some point. Cooking was something he was wanting to learn more about as a whole, so this was a good opportunity. “That's not a problem, everyone has a food that does that for them,” he grinned in response. This was more enjoyable than most other dates he'd been on simply cause she seemed to be more open and accepting of herself, which was a nice change.
Tonkatsu with curry and rice, then either Kirin's lemon soda, malt beer, or a malt whiskey. That would be an interesting meal to put together, maybe he could try finding the right setup that made the flavors blend. As he ate, he thought about some of the cooking classes that might be in Japan, maybe he could take on to start improving his ability. Then she asked him what he liked to do and mentioned him seeming too nice to get physical with anyone. A laugh came from him, as he thought about that statement, there were actually quite a few people.
“Well, I will thank you for the compliments. However, I have a few activities I like to do, but to give a short list I practice martial arts, I play video games, and I can even sew,” usually people never considered on or more of those as options. There were a few thoughts that crossed his mind with that question, but he would save that for a different time. “Who is the most interesting person you've met?” it was an odd question, but she seemed like someone that traveled a bit and that could lead to good stories.

"I'll look forward to some fun together in the Digital World, then!" There were a couple mischievous things the woman wanted to do in the other world, but spending time exploring with Drake sounded pretty good in comparison, too. The idea made her a bit excited for later when they'd be showing each other their digimon forms.
She had a sneaking suspicion of why he asked what her favorite food was after he admitted to committing her answer to memory. Yasuko wasn't about to argue getting more of her favorite food, though!
"Don't worry if you forget, 'cause I'll always be happy to tell you it again!" she said with a snicker.
When he laughed she smiled at hearing it. It wasn't a grating or overbearing noise, and something she could get used to hearing more often. She nodded at his gratitude, all too eager to hear what had made him laugh. She nodded again when he listed martial arts as a hobby, and that made sense to her.
"You're gonna have to teach me some moves one day! I've had a lot of people teach me some different things for self defense, but I've never really practiced a school of martial arts." She tilted her head to the side a little as she thought back to all the people who had taught her things. "I guess it's more right to say that I haven't learned any disciplined fighting?" Then again, there wasn't much she was disciplined in to begin with.
"I do like racing games, though! And knowing how to sew is a good skill, too! I kinda remember the baseball stitch from when I used to play. Don't ask me to fix anything you wanna keep, though!" Yasu shook her head with a chuckle. When Drake asked her who was the most interesting person she met, that question had the woman pausing to think for a few seconds.
"This is probably gonna sound weird coming from me of all people," she finally said in an almost embarrassed tone, "..but that'd probably be my old man. He's brought a lot of different people together to work for him on the docks back in Yokohama. People you wouldn't have thought would follow that kind of orderly structure, and it certainly wasn't easy. Even then, he made it all feel like one big family, without making it uncomfortable for my mother, kid sister, and myself. A lot of those guys are the ones who taught me how to fight, actually. Hell, even a punk like me got a lot of respect for that kind of leadership. You don't really see that kinda stuff outside of movies and stuff."
She glanced up at Drake, trying to picture how a meeting between him and her father would go. After a moment she smiled and arched a brow.
"Although, the more I find out about you the higher you move up that list, Drake. That's got me wondering: where's your favorite place? I've never left Japan so I'm curious."

Looking forward to having fun together in the Digital World, huh? “Well, I'll try not to keep you waiting too long,” though what was that saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder? That could be something fun too, but he would have to figure that out. Enjoying tonight was his focus tonight, after their food things would start to get interesting, especially since he still wasn't fully sure how to change himself. That could be fixed easy enough though.
“Good, that'll help too,” he smirked, though the end goal for the information was probably obvious, but he could probably throw in a few extra surprises. The first thing was learning to make it the right way though, wouldn't do any good to serve a bad tasting meal. So he's make sure to practice making the meal when he could get a more permanent residence. Hotel's would probably get angry with cooking being done in the rooms.
“Hm, I can teach all sorts of moves, depends on what you're looking for,” a little bit of a turn around on the wordplay to her. Though it was also sincere, he'd learned lots of ways to fight against others and he was trying to fuse them with his own flair. It was not an easy task, but he figured it would be worth it in the end if he could make a style for himself. “I don't know if I'd call what I'd do disciplined? I do know actual styles, but I am kind of trying to make my own, if that makes sense?” he honestly wasn't sure if it did or not. Having learned from his mom who had been military when he was the youngest the structure had worked then, but as he learned more from friends she had as well as setting out on his own it changed.
“Racing games are always good, I like rpgs, platformers and rogue-like/lites as well. Yeah, usually people try to poke fun at me for knowing how to sew, but I can go for years with good clothes,” it seemed wasteful to not try keeping his clothes in good condition, they weren't toys. Plus, he tended to think he looked good regardless if what he was wearing was old or new, so it all worked. She had taken her time to think about the next answer, that was a good sign it meant it was important to her.
Listening to what Yasuko had to say, he nodded his head until she was fully finished telling him everything. “I don't think it's weird at all, I think you're dad sounds pretty impressive as well,” from the sounds of it he was a good boss who took care of his people. There wasn't anything wrong with finding someone like that to be interesting in the slightest. It'd be one heck of a day if he met the man himself, but that was something that was probably not something that should be on his radar with just one date.
Smiling at her he took a few bites of his food, using the time to think of the answer to her question, it was a bit tough for him to answer. His favorite place, there were so many ways to answer that, how did he want to answer this? Tapping the chopsticks to his chin, he considered all of his options before settling on the answer he would give for this, ”I think my favorite place would probably be the country side of Ireland, lots of rolling green land to just look out over. I went there a couple years back and found the right spot to look out from and it was just amazing.” It was one of those movie or picturesque scenes where the wind blew just the right way to make a rolling meadow view. Random luck that he managed to see it at that moment, but it stuck with him since then. “Although, it's got one other spot for competition,” he teased. Right next to her was definitely becoming a fast favorite of his, even if there wasn't anything else going on.
“Hm, let's see. Probably another simple one, but what's your favorite holiday?” it was a random question, but it was one he always thought about with people.

She chuckled and nodded when he said that he'd call her sometime for Digital World adventures. Maybe they'd make another date out of it, but it was already in the open that they liked each other. From the sounds of things he was even going to try cook her favorite meal too! The idea of traveling as a couple was sweet, and she'd be lying if she said she preferred solo expeditions into the unknown.
"Ah, y'know, just some moves to quickly put someone on their ass! You never know when you might need a trick or two like that. Trying to make your own style is pretty cool, too. If you ever want a sparring partner I can go one-for-one anytime!" Well, she wasn't sure how she'd rate against a real martial artist, but she'd be willing to at least try. Now that she was in Shibuya she didn't really have anyone else to train with anyways.
"Well if you like rpgs you'll probably love being a spirit wielder. We're pretty unique among other types of humans in the Digital World in that we get to become digimon instead of hiding behind one." She couldn't really say much about the types of games he liked other than that, having spent most of her gaming in public arcades. Having played a lot of baseball during her school years had taken up much of her free time then as well, but she'd make a point to watch Drake play something if the chance ever came up.
Yasuko gave Drake a grateful smile when he complimented her dad. She clearly did have a lot of respect for the man despite his eccentricities. Maybe one day she'd get the pleasure of introducing Drake to him, but that was a thought for the future.
As Drake took a moment to think about his next answer the cook came back with their bottle of sake and two small cups. Yasu thanked the man before pouring them both a drink. By that time Drake was already explaining his answer. She wore a thoughtful expression as she tried to picture a lush country setting.
"Can't say I've been outside of the cities here, but that does sound like a pretty place, yeah." The woman chuckled at Drake's flirting. "Yeah? Gotta say though I'm a sore loser so expect your favorite place to change sooner rather than later!"
After picking up the cups of sake she offered one to Drake.
"I think I like New Years the best. Lighting off fireworks is always fun, and the sense of renewal is nice. Helps shake out any bad vibes leftover from the previous year, y'know?" Yasu raised her cup up in a toast, grinning. "Here's to us! Kanpai!"

Traveling together in the Digital World was an exciting thought, and given they were both on the more adventurous side of things it would definitely be fun. There were so many ideas going through his head with the idea, and none of them were bad. Both their thoughts seemed to be pretty well in line with each other, that made it all the better that they wanted the same thing from what he could tell. Then she mentioned what she wanted to learn from him, that was a simple enough concept to work with in all honesty.
“I can probably teach you a few moves to help with that, I've learned quite a few different ways to work that. If I am looking for a sparring partner, I'll come to you first, promise. I just need to work on it some more,” there were some kinks that he was still working, but maybe a spar would actually help him refine it. That was the tricky part with trying to create your own fighting style, it had to be just right for you and he was still figuring his preferences for fighting. Maybe the whole turning into a Digimon would help figure that out too, if he needed to work with whatever the spirit was, combining efforts would be the best bet.
“Oh, so it's like an rpg then? That kind of makes it a bit more exciting that I lucked out with a spirit then,” it was probably a bit more involved, but that got him excited. Maybe there was going to be a lot more to this whole being a Digimon thing than he was even originally aware. Either way he was going to have fun with all this now, regardless of what came of it.
Watching the drinks arrive he could only smirk, this was turning out to be a good night and he learned quite a bit about his date from this exchange. He wondered what other kind of questions to ask next, he wanted to get to know her better but there was so much to ask. A lot of it would have be irrelevant probably, still the more he could learn the better. So far he knew some good stuff, like the fact that her father was an important person to her.
“It was, if you're interested I can take you one day to see it?” he figured he could leave it up to her whether or not she was interested in seeing it. Though the next comment raised an eyebrow, “Well, I'll just say you won't have to do a lot more to win that spot.”
“That's a fair answer and a pretty good point,” she had a good thought for liking New Years, he couldn't deny that. Then she lifted the cup of sake and he raised his own, “To us, Kanpai!” Drinking down the sake, the slow warming feeling good against his throat and the drink going amazingly with the dinner.
There was one question he figured that could probably just settle a lot of his curiosities, plus it would just let her cover everything. “So, one more question. What's important to you? Doesn't just have to be one thing,” there was some flexibility to the question, so that she could answer how she wanted.

"That's a promise!" echoed the woman cheerfully. She was always down to learn a new fighting trick. Learning a bit of real martial arts couldn't hurt after all. Could even be that she'd learn something useful to use in her cat form. Even though Black Tailmon had short limbs it was a nimble digimon.
"Mmm, more like a virtual reality kinda deal, I mean? Really gets you into the action, but I've heard that Terminus even sells upgrades for digimon that we can use, too." Maybe she had misunderstood what an rpg was since her gaming experience was limited to her phone and public arcades, but upgrading characters sounded about right? And since they were the characters as digimon, she thought it was pretty exciting to be a spirit wielder.
"Is that another promise?" she teased when he offered to take her to Ireland one day. Yasu then laughed as she shook her head. "You know I don't pull punches so that spot's as good as mine, Drake! But who knows? Maybe you'll get the best of both those worlds someday." Leaving the country had never crossed her mind before, but that was only because she didn't have a reason to. Maybe she'd try that more now that circumstances were changing.
A grin spread across her lips as he copied her toast, and she drank her sake in unison with Drake. That familiar warmth traveling down felt great to her, and she firmly set her cup down with a satisfied sigh. Drake had another question ready for her, and this one was a bit deep. Yasu stared at her empty cup for a few seconds before chuckling and pouring them both another round.
"What's important to me, huh?" She tapped a finger on the counter with one hand while gently swirling her sake in its cup with the other. "Family for sure. Those kinds of bonds will get you through anything, y'know? Other than that, though? Just be yourself." At that point she raised her gaze from her cup to stare at her date. As open as she had been so far, there was a look of calm sincerity in her eyes then. A rare expression for her normally active self.
"We all got things we don't want others knowing about, and I get that. I got a few skeletons in my closet too that I'll talk about when I feel the time is right. That aside, if you want to continue this beyond tonight? Well, it's us against the world, Drake." An easygoing smile settled on her lips.
"You won't hear me complaining about fighting back to back with you against those kinds of odds, win or lose. But don't ever feel that you need to pretend to be somebody you're not to impress me. Or else I'd really have to kick your ass."
The woman trailed off into a laugh as her usual cheerfulness returned. For so few questions Drake had asked some good ones. She raised up her cup again for another toast.
"If you understand what I mean with all that nonsense then let's have another!"

There were a few techniques that he figured he could probably teach, maybe in the course of showing her some things, he'd learn something for himself as well. He'd probably need to figure out what kind of a fighter she was to figure the right technique to use as well. Then she explained a bit more about the spirit wielder, the upgrades they could potentially get and it made sense with her comment.
“Yeah, that fits with an rpg pretty well, cause the genre can cover a pretty wide range of specifics. Not a bad call on that, VR does work as well,” that was an interesting mix for genres that she had put together, it kind of stirred the game maker in him to wanting to put those together. He'd send a quick text later to his friends back home to toss the idea by them. The whole concept was just exciting all around, she was able to give him some nice ideas.
“It is,” he offered, if she wanted to go with him, then he would take her in a heart beat, he wasn't the type to lie about those things. Then she made mention of getting both and he raised an eyebrow, “Competitive but I can get the best of both worlds, I'll be looking forward to that day.” Who wouldn't want that kind of incredible luck, not only an amazing view, but the view including an amazing woman to share it with?
There was no need for her to rush the answer, the fact that they seemed to be both having the same thoughts in general made this question important as well. They should know where they stand on things, at the very least it made sense that way to him. She started to speak before pausing once more and he shifted his attention to her fully.
Family and being yourself, huh? Yeah, that was pretty much the same for him, the fact that they both thought that way was pretty reassuring as well. Although, for him, there wasn't really anymore family that he knew of, so for him friends were also included in that. It was a rare thing, but he was glad that they seemed to match up so well. The change of expression that followed caught him by surprise, even more so after what she said to him. Giving a thoughtful expression himself, what would be the best way to respond?
“Us against the world? I think I can live with that, in fact, I like that kind of challenge,” smirking, he actually was one of those guys that would take on that challenge. If she wanted someone that would always be there to have her back, then she picked the right guy. No matter what it was, if she called him he would come running, it was just how he worked. “Whatever happens after tonight, you call me for anything and I'm there for you,” he stated flat out. There was no hesitation in it, he figured he'd learned enough about her to be able to say that without worry.
“Fair enough, I'll not pretend to be someone I'm not with you. That is another promise as well,” he figured he would show that he was serious as well. He understood what she meant perfectly with what she was saying, and there was only one real way he figure to show that with her now. Toasting once more he took another drink of the sake, it was do or die time then.
Turning to face Yasuko, he placed his hand on the side of her face once more and leaned in to place another kiss on her lips, this one with a more heat behind it. If he shouldn't pretend to be someone else, then that was something he really wanted to do again and it was affirmation for her that he was good with everything she laid out.

Come to think of it she hadn't really tied virtual reality games either because of the costs involved, but she supposed she didn't really need to anymore. Running around as a cat got as real as it got, and she didn't think video games could even come close to those sensations. She was happy that Drake seemed to approve of her comparison, though.
"I'll look forward to it as well, Drake," she said as she echoed his sentiments about going to Ireland together. Going to different places in the Digital World first would be a good practice run for that, she decided.
Her date seemed to consider her answer to his last question seriously, thankfully. Everyone had their own priorities in life, and maybe it might have been strange for a troublemaker like her to preach such basic values but those were Yasuko's priorities. The woman smirked back in amusement at his initial answer of liking challenges; that was good.
"Good answers," she said with a nod and smile, appreciating the understanding they both had. Another toast came and went, and that enjoyable warmth inside flared up again. That warmth felt weak in comparison with Drake's next move, though. The contact of their lips in a more mutually heated kiss had its own intoxicating effect. Yasu also reached out a hand in her own affectionate gesture, her fingers gripping the front of Drake's button up shirt to keep him leaned down towards her.
Once their lips parted Yasu released her hold on her date and leaned back in her seat with a satisfied chuckle. She licked her lips as she gave the man a thoughtful look. She tasted sake on her lips, and she was sure it wasn't just from her own cup.
"That, though? That was a great answer! I'm really glad to have met you tonight, Drake. I didn't think I'd be enjoying myself this much, and it looks like you're having a lot of fun, too!" Her tease came paired with a wink. It was hard to find someone so open in Japan's reserved culture, and she was loving it.
"And hey, if you find a city you like in the Digital World, let me know if you wanna split a place with me? I'm still looking around myself, but I'm definitely liking the freedom and overall craziness of that place. Can't wait to see the new you, too." She reached out to lightly tap at his digivice beneath his jacket's sleeve.

It seemed they were already looking forward to a lot of fun together, that was a rare thing to find someone that you just clicked so well. Whoever was in charge of that dating service deserved a raise, maybe even a promotion, because this date had turned out incredibly. From the moment they met things had been off to a great start and only got better as time went on, honestly it was the most fun he'd had in a long time.
There was so much learned on this date, about Yasuko herself, but about Drake as well even things that he wasn't fully aware of himself. One of those being that he really liked the tomboy type, not something he'd figured. That or it was just her, the person who she was just drew him in and wouldn't let him turn away. Somewhat like a moth to a flame, but he couldn't say he'd mind getting burned that was just going to be part of the adventure if it happened.
She appreciated his initial answers, but it was apparent that she enjoyed his second answer much more fully. Given that she had grasped onto his shirt to keep him leaned in close, with that it was easy to see that they came to a mutually agreed outcome. With the combination of drinks with exhilarating kisses and there was no better experience to be had. Truth be told he wouldn't mind just being able to do this on a more regular basis; that would have to wait to see how things would go between them, but things looked good. The next words caused a laugh from him, she was okay with everything so far, so he was hopeful that they would continue this even after today.
“I'm glad you liked it, if you're ever unsure of the answer I can always repeat it for you,” he responded to the first part with a wink himself. “I am enjoying myself very much and it's good to hear you are,” that was something that was important to him. What she said next was a bit unexpected, though he didn't mind the idea either.
“Yeah, I'd be good with that and I'll be sure to check out that city then, if it's got your seal of approval,” he chuckled. He was interested in seeing the new him as well, and was curious what exactly would happen to him as well.

His tease about repeating his answer made the woman snicker. To be genuinely wanted was really all anyone could hope for in a relationship at the bare minimum, but it looks like they were both getting the full package deal tonight. Vaguely she wondered how her kid sister was doing on her own blind date, but if the matchmakers had done this well with her and Drake, Yasuko felt that her sibling would have a good time as well.
"Whitewater you mean? Yeah it's supposed to be like a summer paradise, it'd be great! Trains connect all the major cities so I'm not too concerned about traveling far from Terminus City." Yasu trailed off as she looked up thoughtfully. "Then again if we do enough jobs we might even be able to snag more than one place? Dunno how it'd compare to Ireland's fields, but the Eastern Timberlands are supposed to be pretty green, too. Guess we'll just have to see!" She shrugged her shoulders before glancing back to Drake.
"Why don't we finish up eating here then we can go have some real fun, yeah?" Picking up her chopsticks she plucked another piece of beef and ate it with another delighted hum. Suddenly remembering something she looked back to Drake with an incredulous expression. "Oh! Y'know another thing I hear the Digital World got? Meat. Plants. Or something like that, anyways. Hunks of meat still on a bone, just growing out of the ground! I guess they just rinse it off before cooking the stuff? If that's not like a video game I don't know what is."

“Yeah, I can check out Whitewater City, if the grass is green then I have the two criteria met already for the perfect place,” he laughed. It was a stupid little joke, but if she wasn't sure what he meant he could tell her. Then she mention about Rosewood and how it might be a green area as well, where the could probably pick up another place for them to share. Which he would not be against either, “Rosewood, huh? I'll have to check it out while I'm looking around.” It seemed they had already gotten to a pretty idea of what they both wanted, so it was going to be pretty easy to check things out.
“Good plan, I still need to figure out what I'm doing with all this,” he chuckled, picking his own chopsticks and moving to eat what was on his plate. With the noodles, if he remembered right of what he'd learned he slurped the noodles to show that he was enjoying the meal, plus to him it was just more fun to do anyways. That was when Yasuko told him something that almost caused him to choke, “Wait, there is meat the grows from plants? That is both amazing and absurd sounding, but I love it all the same.” The only reaction he could give was to laugh at the idea, but he wanted to find these plants just to see what it tasted like, who could reasonably pass that up?
“Man, the more I learn the more fun it's sounding, this little trip should be a good experience for letting me get to know the place,” there were places to explore while looking at the different places they could get a place together and different foods to try finding. It almost felt like being an explorer, even though he was a little late to the party in that regard. With those thoughts occupying his mind, he didn't realize that he'd managed to finish what was on his plate. It was such a short bit of time that he had arrived, but there was so much that needed to be done now, he would at least never be bored.
“Gotta say, whoever recommended this place knows their stuff,” he said leaning back in his seat a bit. Oddly enough he was looking forward to the next step of this date, he'd finally figure out this transformation thing that was the spirit wielder's power.

"See? The best of both worlds," said Yasuko as she chuckled at Drake's joke. She had heard the Southern Tropics had islands with verdant fields and flowers as well. Truly the Digital World was as varied as its original denizens. Checking out Rosewood wasn't a bad idea either. It was definitely one of the quieter cities in comparison, but Drake might have liked that for his martial arts training.
She started eating as well between their back and forth chatter, chuckling again as she noticed Drake slurping his noodles. He wasn't completely unaware of Japanese customs it seemed. Yasu nodded when he commented on the meat plants.
"Yeah they even got farms of the stuff! Makes sense I guess? Since digimon are made out of data themselves. Can't really eat that, I suppose." She hummed thoughtfully as she ate another piece of beef. Although there might be digimon that look like cows or chickens, it probably didn't mean they'd be raised to be eaten like in the human world. Probably. Soon enough they were both finished with their plates, and Yasuko couldn't help but grin at Drake's approval of their meal.
"Whoever that was really did do a great job, didn't they?" Also leaning back in her seat Yasuko laughed as she put her hands behind her head. She wasn't above heaping praise upon herself if it was deserved. "Yeah, they're pretty awesome, I bet!"
As they got ready to leave Yasuko paid for their meal. The first one was on her, and it was a belated celebration of her date's arrival to a new country. It was just something she wanted to do for Drake instead out of any custom. Once they got back out on the streets she took to holding onto the man's arm again, walking beside him.
"So, what do you know about a spirit wielder's transformation, anyways? You said you haven't done it yet, right?"

Whitewater and Rosewood, he needed to remember those two places to make sure he could explore them thoroughly. There was a lot to consider with all of this so it'd be best to have the most information available to him. Still, just cause he was excited about it, that was no excuse to jump into a stupid decision on his own part. Housing was important so there were a lot of factors to consider, and he would do his due diligence.
The food had turned out really good and it was giving him time to think about a lot of things, this trip really was one that was expanding his world. Plus there were other benefits to it, given that things seemed to be going really well with Yasuko. Never in his wildest dreams had he considered all these things happening in such a short time, but he wouldn't change any of it.
“Interesting, and I don't know at the very least we should be able to eat it right? Spirit Wielders seem to have a different relationship with digimon and their world, though that's just a hypothesis on my part,” just from the information he had it was likely that they might be part data themselves to an extent. How else could one explain their abilities? More so when they were in the real world, things worked despite that they were supposed to be fully flesh and blood again. That just led him to the thought that they became part data, he could be absolutely wrong on all those counts, but it made sense to him.
“I must agree, awesome and beautiful, that's one heck of a combination,” he grinned, adding praise but a bit of teasing as well. Then she paid the bill, a surprise, but he wouldn't argue if that was what she wanted to do. Still, he would have to treat her to a meal the next time, and it would give him time to work on his cooking skills. When they left she returned to holding his arm, not something he would complain about in the slightest, the warmth of her being close was nice.
“Well, all I remember being told is that he get some kind of code around our hands and have to shout a phrase to change forms. I don't know if whoever the 'powers that be' that gave us these powers also accounted for customization though,” he shrugged slightly, it would be fun to make his own phrase, but it wasn't a super important thing. “Is there more to it than that?” he wasn't sure if there was more to the actual process.

"Hypothesis, huh? Haven't really given it much thought myself, but you might be onto something there!" Being more of a doer than a thinker Drake's theory made sense to her on a basic level. Spirit wielders were different from other humans in the Digital World, at least as far as she was aware.
When Drake had complimented and teased her at the same time Yasuko laughed again, practically bathing in the attention she was getting. Even if some of it was from her own praise. It was all good vibes that she had earned as far as she was concerned, regardless if all she had done was pick out where they were gonna eat.
She listened to him talk about his own knowledge from the Digital World as they walked. He seemed to have the gist of it right as far as turning into a digimon went. The woman tilted her head when he mentioned customization, though.
"Mmm, sounds like you already got the idea of transforming down. If you're really in tune with your spirits though, you don't have to use the phrase. Scanning the fractal code should be good enough." She thought back to what he said about customizing. A spirit wielder couldn't really customize their forms aside from adding or removing clothes, so did he mean the trigger phrase? "If you have a close bond like that, I guess you could just make up your own phrase?"
Yasuko pointed to an alleyway they were coming up to, intending to use the secluded space for show and tell.
"Let's give that spot a look? We're in town so we have to stay off the streets. I'm not really worried about people seeing me, but we need to find out what you transform into. If your spirit's active you might see a hint or image of them on your digivice. Our partners may be spirits, but they don't want to be forgotten."
As they moved to the mouth of the alley she gave the area a quick look over from their position. It was a little dark to really show things off to each other. On one side was a one story building with a ladder bolted into the structure leading up to the roof.
"How about that, then?" she asked as she gestured to the ladder next. "We can get up top above the streets so we shouldn't have to worry as much. Why don't you head up first? I promise I won't stare at your butt for too long when I head up behind ya!"

There was only so much he could make educated guesses about with the information that he had, but not knowing more left so much that could burst his bubble. The more he could learn the better, which was why this digivolving experiment could actually prove to be beneficial in multiple ways. Plus, he'd get to see how things would unfold for himself and just what kind of partner he had been paired.
With only a general understanding of the process itself, he was glad that there was someone willing to show him the ropes a bit. If there was something he got wrong about it when trying it on his own, there could be a lot of issues brought up with that. Something he'd rather avoid if he could, plus it was always good to have such a hot teacher.
“Hm, so it's not just about the form, but the connection that you have with it as well? That's good to know, we'll see if my spirit is in a good mood,” he laughed. So, this spirit could still have some kind of personality to it, that could be interesting in and of itself. Would they get along or would they butt heads, the thought was making him want to transform quicker to find out. It was also possible that if the spirit and he were on good enough terms he might be able to customize his transformation phrase, now that thought was amusing.
Following as she pointed towards an alleyway where they could be away from prying eyes, he nodded heading that way. “Right, would probably be bad if I'm big and noticeable, huh?” he laughed, it was kind of amusing to think that he could be more of that right now. Within the alleyway, they found a building to climb atop so that they could do this with a bit of privacy.
“Works for me,” he responded, moving towards the ladder. Then she mentioned trying not to stare at his butt too long and he winked at her, “I don't mind, I know it looks good.” He laughed, starting the climb to the roof. It wasn't a long climb and at the top he would offer his hand to Yasuko to help her up a bit quicker and safer.
