Watching her take her stance to catch that first ball that went flying was pretty impressive all things considered. Sport were something of a weak spot for him, simply for the fact that when he was young it wasn't something that he had done much, so he was essentially going in blind. While the means of him learning how to fight was necessity, it was also one of the few things that he found he could get into fully. This was fun though, if she had been around when he was younger he may have gotten more into sports.
Baseball really seemed to be her thing though, she had the stance, timing, and even the power to just send a ball flying just right. To him it seemed that if she wanted it was possible for her to go professional, though that was just by his own estimates. His eyes were just watching the form and grace she seemed to carry when she was in this zone.
“Yep, whatever. I will do my best to fulfill it,” that was his word, no matter what she requested, he would do his best to grant it. She seemed to eagerly agree with it, and took her stance with a spin of the bat, well it seemed like he really had given her motivation to go for it. So he stood straight to watch and see what would happen with this pitch, it was one of the moments where time seemed to slow down a bit just as the ball was launched. When it neared she let out a shout and slammed the ball with everything she had, the loud metallic ping of the bat against the ball resonated in the brief quietness.
“Holy crap, nice hit,” was all he could mutter at that as he watched the ball soar through the air to nail the upper back wall of the area, He just did the only thing that made sense at the time and just applauded the hit. That was just one hell of a thing he just saw, and the fact that it essentially only took three swings to get to that point was impressive as well.
He couldn't help the grin that showed up either, even if he just lost a wager, he just couldn't be upset about it just for the way it happened. When she turned to him and said she still had it, he could only laugh and agree given what he just witnessed. With the bat on her shoulder he nodded, “Alright, a deal is a deal. You can make one request of whatever you want,” he acknowledged her win.
“What would you like to request? And if nothing comes right now, you can always take time to think about it,” this would be entertaining regardless, just for the fact that it felt like he set himself up for that whole thing. That was just a great series of events that played out though, and he couldn't help laughing.

Drake's applause at her hit made her chuckle and grin. It had been a while since she last had the chance to show off. Even with her quick warm up she didn't consider herself to be a professional level player yet, but she was always happy to impress people with her hard earned prowess.
"Heh, 'whatever I want.' Even a girl like me could get used to hearing that."
She tapped the bat back against her shoulder a few times as she paused to think. Yasu didn't have much in the way of extravagant desires. Truthfully, the desire of winning their wager had overshadowed her thoughts on any real reward. There were a few obvious answers for a date of course, but those would be too cliche she thought. They had already kissed, and even shared a big secret with each other.
"Hmmm," she hummed with a small rascally smile, "..oh, I think I got a pretty good idea on what I want, now. But, that will be a surprise for after the movie." Her smile widened as she shrugged her shoulders casually. "So you'll just have to wait til then, Drake!"
She returned the baseball bat to its rack and took her gloves off. Then she picked up her jacket, but didn't bother putting it on.
"Speaking of movies, any idea of what you wanna watch? I'm not big on the heavily romantic stuff, but everything else is fair game! Always a fan of entertaining entertainment. Whatever you pick I'll probably like."

It almost felt like he got hustled a little bit, but he knew that it wasn't the case, but those series of events were like the perfect setup. Still credit where it was due and that earned the applause, he had run the numbers in his head, but then remembered that he was bad at math. He could only smile and shake his head at how he got himself into this, but it wasn't bad at least, what would she request of him? He doubted it would be anything bad.
“Yep, not many get this kind of offer.”
It would be entertaining to see what she would request of him, given the way this date had already gone, but it would be something worthwhile he could tell. He could tell that she was putting thought into it as well, so he would leave it to her. Stretching himself out, it was hard to avoid a bit of strain given that he hadn't really warmed up for any exercise today, but it was a small price to pay for fun.
“Oh, well now I'm really intrigued to know what you're thinking about,” he laughed. When she mentioned it would have to wait until after the movie, he nodded in acceptance. When she mentioned what kind of movie to watch, he stroked his chin in thought, that was a good question. He wasn't too much of a fan of the heavy romance stuff himself, so that was good they agreed on that.
When she put the thing away he would start to walk with her, and for a change of pace, he would place his arm around her. Draping over her shoulder and hanging down enough that if she wanted to hold onto him she could, but he figured he would display a bit more outward affection as well. He didn't want to seem like he didn't enjoy having her next to him. He would leave his arm loose enough that if she felt there was a better spot for his arm she could shift it without too much trouble.
“So, do you have a theater in mind?” he figured he would ask, since she would probably know the layout better. Worst case he could use his smartphone to get things sorted out, and get them to their destination.

She'd be lying if she said her prized request was insignificant, but she wasn't going to reveal it just yet, either. As promised she'd wait till after their movie. The fact that Drake played along with this made her a happy woman. Who didn't love surprises?!
As they left the batting cages she kept her jacket in her hand opposite of her date, enjoying the cool night air on her exposed skin thanks to the spider web design of her top. Drake got a bit bolder, draping his arm around her shoulders. She didn't recoil from his touch; although, she did shoot a sly look up at the man in amusement.
"Yeah, I know a place we can go," she answered as she leaned into his side a little, snaking her own arm around the man's waist with a satisfied smile. "they got some English movies there, too. Some of the popular American flicks. Speaking of overseas, I'm still impressed, Drake. I might have to pinch myself, but I'll settle for pinching you, instead."
She leaned against him a little more as the arm she had around his waist reached out to playfully pinch at the side of the man's stomach. She didn't really get to pinch much though, as expected of someone with Drake's physique.
"They really do build you men differently!" She chuckled and shook her head as she grinned. "Seriously, I haven't seen muscles like yours in a long time. After you get settled here in Shibuya I'm definitely hitting you up to tag team a work out routine or something."
Thanks to the layout of Shibuya's Entertainment District they didn't have to go far to find the theater Yasu had mentioned. In true Tokyo nightlife fashion the front had a lot of neon lighting giving the place a vibrant, lively appearance. On the front walls were large screens showing promotional posters for what was playing that night.
"Ah, that's the place! Let's see if there's something fun tonight!"

Although he was willing to wait, his mind wouldn't stop thinking of the different possibilities that could happen. Sometimes an active imagination could be a bad thing, but it would be interesting to see if he could try to guess it. A glance over towards Yasu afforded him a glimpse of the sly look, to which he smiled slyly in return.
She knew where there was a movie theater, so that would be easy enough to take care of, but what caught him a bit by surprise was how she leaned into him. He hadn't expected it, but he was going to enjoy it as much as possible. “Cool, that should make deciding on a movie pretty simple then and is that so? Well, I don't mind, but not much to be impressed by.” There was a slight chuckle, there wasn't really anything that special to it in his mind.
Raising an eyebrow at the pinching he looked towards Yasuko, she seemed to enjoy the fact that he had a well-built physique to an odd extent. Nothing bad about it, just odd, were people here really not that into being fit? Then again most of his own physique is due to his upbringing more than anything.
“Is it that rare to see a physique like mine?” his tone was genuinely curious. Then she mentioned that once he was settled in that they should get together for a work out routine, “Sure, we'd probably need to find a farm area or I can check out if there are places in the other world that would fit.” If she wanted to have a training routine that gave muscles like his, he could work it out.
As they neared the theater he began to examine some of the posters, trying to find something that they could watch. He wasn't really too much of a fan of the heavy romance stuff himself, so that was a plus for picking thing, “Hmm, how about an action movie?” He wasn't really sure what he was in the mood to see, so it was basically up in the air.

She gave the man a curious look when he downplayed his physique. Perhaps she did owe him an explanation if he didn't really understand what she was getting at.
"Look around," she offered as she nodded to the streets and nightlife, "for the most part, we're a proud people, yeah. We're also smaller. Sometimes both in body and mind." Yasu's voice trailed off with a sigh as she glanced around at no one in particular.
"Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against anyone wanting to play things safe. That said, not a lot of people think about what would really be good for them. Sure, that steady job as a suit in an office and going home to a quaint apartment for the rest of your life is safe. It's expected here, even. Problem with doing what's always expected of you is that you lose sight of your own dreams, y'know? And then you become afraid of change. Sometimes even afraid of yourself."
The woman shook her head with a chuckle before returning her glance back up to Drake.
"So yeah, it is kinda rare to see someone like you. Someone who's willing to put in the time and effort to look like you do. Someone who's not afraid of change, and leaving your old stomping grounds behind. Someone who's not afraid to chase your own ambitions and just be yourself."
She shrugged her shoulders lightly with a carefree smile next as her gaze went straight ahead.
"I know, I like to talk a lot, and I talk a big game. That's just how I am, and I just wanted you to know I appreciate, and even like, who you are. Catching you on a blind date was a steal."
Her smile widened at her last line. It wasn't often she openly praised people so highly, but she'd hope he'd appreciate that. As they got closer to the theater entrance she nodded at his suggestion.
"Yeah, I'm always down for something badass!"

She explained why she was so interested in his physique, it was an interesting look into the thoughts behind it. There was something to what she was saying as well, he couldn't really say much about the people here either way. Though her comments about playing safe seemed to be pretty accurate all things considered, just from what he knew of some people as well.
“Fair enough, I can see where you're coming from with that. Although I may not be the best example, for not being afraid of change. I just tend to not think about consequences as much,” he laughed. Then she made a comment about finding him in the blind date being a steal, and to be honest, he was caught a bit by surprise with it. Not really sure how to react to that comment right away, he was quiet for a few seconds.
“Wow, thanks. I don't think I've ever had someone say that about me, and I came out like a bandit on this date as well. I gotta admit, we haven't known each other long, but I think I'm falling hard for you,” it was probably a bit early or forward to be saying something like that, but it was how he felt. Plus, better to get it out there and see how things unfold rather than never say anything only to wonder about it.
They agreed on the type of film to watch and he went with one of the newer releases, it seemed like it could be a good movie. “Do you want anything to eat or drink while we watch?” he asked, figuring they could get some stuff at the concession stand. They had a bit of time to kill before the movie started.

"Not being afraid of change, not worrying about consequences. They might as well be the same thing," she pointed out with a smile as the man laughed at his own words. There was more chemistry at work than just physical attraction on Yasuko's behalf, but Drake put it into words well enough with his following statements about how well they were getting along.
"Yeah? Well in that case, the feeling's mutual, Drake! I'd fall hard for me too, but chasing after you tonight has been even more fun than that!" spoke the woman confidently before chuckling to herself. "Feels strange to say something like that, but it's not a bad feeling, either. Not bad at all, Drake."
Her date picked out the movie for them, and Yasu was anticipating a good watch if its exciting promotional poster was anything to go by. When asked if she wanted anything to snack on during the show she nodded.
"Sure! Splitting a bag of popcorn sound good with you?"
As her eyes wandered over a couple more large advertisements a question came to mind.
"Was it movies that you got you into martial arts? I hear those kinds of movies are really popular overseas?"

“I suppose so, I think my way tends to come with a few more scars at the end of the day though,” he laughed again. Though she had a point they were pretty similar traits. He tended to not quite think things through though, which tended to wind up hurting himself. Not that he minded especially in important situations like if his friends are in danger. Still it was nice to hear that someone appreciated the way he did things. He was pleasantly surprised by what Yasu said next though as he hadn't been sure of her response.
“Well, that's a first for me, but it's certainly nice to hear. It's been fun for me too, looking forward to what more there is to come,” he smirked. If this was just their first date, he had to wonder where things would go from here. “It's definitely not a bad feeling at all, Yasuko.”
When she agreed to get some popcorn he went ahead and grabbed some for them to split, he wondered if there was much of a difference between popcorn in the States and Japan. He was about to find out soon enough he supposed. Before anymore thoughts popped into his head, however, a question was asked regarding why he learned martial arts in the first place.
“Hm, I suppose that is the usual reason most people get into them, yeah? Honestly, I had gotten interested in them from movies, but that wasn't why I learned them. Only thing originally my mom would teach me is how to throw a punch,” he chuckled. It didn't seem like it would be much, but it turned out to be a rather useful thing to know for him.
“Do you want to know the full reason I learned?” he figured he'd ask her to make sure, not everyone probably wanted to hear a story like that.

"Yeah, but some scars can look really damned cool. And for all the really bad crap, you got me watching your back. Anyone wanting to throw hands with the Dragon of the West will answer to me first!" Maybe it was her reckless optimism getting the better of her, but the woman seemed unbothered by Drake's cautious words. She had always managed to get out of serious trouble before, and her streak of doing so hadn't shown any signs of failing yet. And while it wasn't the first time that night they confessed enjoying each other's company hearing it again only widened Yasu's smile.
She made sure to keenly pay attention when he answered her question, as her curiosity was genuine. When he mentioned his mom though she had a hunch things weren't as simple as being a movie genre enthusiast.
"That so? She must have cared about you a lot to show you how to live a strong life by example. Can't say my own mother liked the idea of me or my sister learning self defense, but she understood the need for it." At Drake's hesitation to explain any further the woman's brows raised slightly, unsure of how to interpret that pause.
"I'm not gonna pry if you don't wanna talk about it, no hard feelings there. However, I wouldn't have asked if I wasn't curious, Drake. I told you before that family is important to me, and this sounds like it's important to you, too. I do wanna know, but only if you wanna tell me. Fair enough?"
She looked up at the man not with judgement, but with a calm sincerity. If he wasn't ready to tell her something then so be it, she wasn't going to throw a fuss about things either way.

“Yeah, scars can be cool, I'll give you that. I tend to use them as a means to learn, make myself better. Plus if I'm gonna have you watching my back now, I can push myself to become as strong as possible. Become the best version of myself to stand at the top with you,” he smirked. If it was going to be them sticking together through it all, then he needed to make sure that he could deal with whatever came their way. If they were going to watch each other's backs then he wasn't going to give anyone the opportunity to get past him.
A strange feeling washed over him with that sentiment as well, it was a determination from his own resolve, but even more so from another source. His other half was in agreement with his thoughts it seemed and wanted to help him achieve his goals. That was fine with him, if they could work together for it, he was sure that he could reach even greater heights than normal.
The answer he gave was somewhat incomplete, mostly cause not a lot of people liked hearing the details of the story. So, he usually needed to try toning down some details, but she seemed to be curious about it after his initial statement. A small chuckle escaped as she mentioned if it was sensitive he didn't need to share, “Nah, nothing like that. Plus it'd do a disservice to my mom to just leave it like that anyways. Just more of making sure you're good hearing the full story.”
Plus he was sure that if he tried something like this while she was still alive, his mom would've kicked his ass for being vague. Grinning though he did appreciate her words about being willing to wait til he was ready to tell the story. “Do you want to wait til after the movie though?” he figured it'd be rude to talk during a movie, but if she wanted to hear his story he would.

"The best versions of ourselves. That's a goal worth fighting for!" Yasuko liked the sound of that. It had a real spirit to it, and resonated with her gutsy nature. She didn't consider herself to be a perfect person, but that had never bothered or stopped her from succeeding before. Maybe with Drake's support she could reach even higher goals, and she could return that favor somehow.
Her brows raised slightly in curiosity at what the man said next, but she smiled coyly thinking she could understand just a little bit about what kind of person his mom was.
"Yeah, I guess it really would piss off a woman like that if you only went halfway on one of her stories, right? She did teach you how to punch, after all. She sounds like a really awesome person." When he asked if the story could wait till after the movie Yasu nodded.
"That's fine with me, yeah. Remind me to ask you about my favor before that, though!" She playfully wagged a finger at him while wearing another smile. "It'd be best if I asked for it then. Well, probably, anyways?" Her shoulders shrugged casually as a carefree expression returned to her face.
"Speaking of that movie, let's go get our pick of the seats!"

It was the best way to go forward in his mind, pushing to greater heights together would work better than alone. There would be no limits to what they could accomplish, and he was looking forward to where that would lead them. This was going to be the first step to a whole new adventure, it was strange to feel like a kid finding something new again. It was a nice feeling though, traveling the world had been the right choice after all.
Yasu mentioned his mom being pissed at a half-story, and he couldn't deny that she would be if simply for the sake of it not being the full truth. So, he would tell the full thing should others want to hear it, most seemed to be a bit put off by the details though. “Yeah, she wasn't big on people not being honest about things,” it was a part of why he tried to always be honest.
She wanted him to remind her about the request and the story after the movie, so he made himself a reminder as well. Setting a note into his cell, as well as an alarm to remind him to check his phone. That would probably help him remember, so he was good to go now. Nodding he entered into the Theater room with her to find their seats and watch the movie.
A couple hours later, he stretched himself out from having sat for so long, movie chairs were never that comfortable for him. “That was pretty good, I wasn't expecting some of the twists there,” he stated, linking his fingers together and lifting his hands above his head until a couple of pops were heard. There were so many good parts that for him, it was hard to figure out which one he liked the best.
Before he could think to say anything else, his cell phone went off in his pocket and when he checked, the little note was right there for him. “Oh that's right, we were talking about that stuff before the movie,” he turned to Yasuko, “You wanted me to remind you about your request and the story,” he figured she could take it from there with what she wanted to do first.

"Makes sense," was all she'd say in reply to hearing his mom not liking dishonesty. Vaguely she wondered if she'd be able to take a punch from Drake's mother, not that Yasu wanted to fight her. Honesty was a good policy, sure, but there were times it was more of a burden in her experience. Having both of their parents meet would be exciting in any case.
After their movie was over she walked with Drake outside chuckling softly as the big man stretched himself out. Maybe the seats had been a little too small for him? It couldn't be helped this time, but it would be something for consideration for later occasions.
"Yeah, and the action scenes were great!" she said as she made finger guns with her hands and fired them off rapidly. The woman paused hearing an alarm go off, and turned to see it was Drake's phone. Recognition lit up on her expression as he reminded her.
"Oh, yeah! My special request! So, you mentioned that you were staying at a hotel for now. How about letting me crash at your place tonight?" Before Drake could say anything she held up a hand to stop him as she added in an amused tone, "yeah, I know, that's pretty damned confident of me to ask something like that. Probably fitting for someone who dresses like a punk like me too, but I'm being real here. The tourist areas are closer than my apartment, and I get the feeling that I can trust you, Drake."
She lowered her hand as she shrugged indifferently, the gesture at odds with the playful smile tugging at her lips.
"No pressure if that's a bit much right now, though. I can appreciate the chase if it is! Also, I figured that you could tell me your story on the way, too."

He was glad that Yasu enjoyed the movie as well, and he had to agree that the action parts were really well done for this movie. That was the most important thing, and he couldn't help but enjoy the fact that she had been leaning against him. “Yeah, I haven't come across a movie with such good choreography in a while,” then again, that could just be a thing with those certain movies as well.
With the phone signaling and him reminding her about the request, she went and asked if it would be alright if she crashed in his hotel room. It seemed to be something that she was having a bit of a time just trying to ask him. Then again they'd just met today, so he understood a bit of the hesitation on her part. It was also a bit amusing watching her try to let him refuse even though it was unnecessary, “Yeah, I don't mind. You can crash there for as long as you like,” he wasn't going to force her to leave or anything, granted she'd probably want some clothes and such. Either way, he would let her decide what she wanted to do in that regard.
“I mean, I understand we just met, but if we're saying it's us against the world I guarantee I'm not gonna say no to you crashing in my room,” he chuckled. Still, it wasn't like he would just leave her to the streets either way and while he was sure she could handle herself, it still wasn't the right thing to do. Holding his arm out to her, he would let her decide how she wanted to walk with him, either draping his arm around her, just holding it, or if she had another idea. As soon as she did, he would start walking towards the hotel.
“Well, initially she only taught me how to properly throw a punch, because she figured there wouldn't be need for much else,” and really who could blame her for that given his size and stature even as a young teen. “For it time it worked out just fine, because no one really tried to mess with me or my friends because there was a giant in the group from the start,” which was fair enough to them. Sadly, that kind of thing was short lived and that's where the story was headed.
“That wouldn't last though as shortly after that, a transfer student was suddenly introduced and the first thing he did was act like your usual stereotype bully. Which wasn't really anything special, but given who my mom was, I wasn't really one to care about bullies in general. That in itself seemed to infuriate him for whatever reason,” he shrugged. No matter how hard he thought about the matter, it just wouldn't make any sense to him. “He seemed to try escalating his tactics to try getting me to be afraid of him or something, I still don't know what he wanted out of it all. Then he made a major mistake in his attempts to come after me by targeting one of me friends instead.” It was the day he learned that he had a very bad side to him when he was angered enough.
“Turns out that's a very bad thing to do with me because I don't fully remember what happened myself, all I know is he pulled a knife on my friend and I put that punching knowledge to use. From what my friends and others told me, we just went at it for a bit. I had apparently gotten quite a few cuts, not sure the full extent of the injuries but I know we both went to the hospital,” there was still quite a bit of it he didn't know, but one or two had been bad cause he still had the scars. “I heard from others as well, that my mom had raised all sorts of hell about it all, she was not at all happy about any of it,” which wasn't really surprising in that regard.
“She wasn't happy with a lot of what had been said and made that clear,” he chuckled at that, he wasn't there, but he could easily imagine what was said in that regard. “Well, when she was in the hospital with me, she told me flat out that I was getting real martial arts training so this wouldn't happen again. She couldn't teach me military fighting, but she had met a bunch of people over the years that were more than willing to help out and that's how I learned how to fight,” that was pretty much the whole story. He might have left some details out regarding how bad his injuries were, but that might have just been mostly to people not really liking to hear it.
