THE TWO OF US (SYRE | VALENTINE'S 2021 EVENT)
|
Post by Syre the BlackGatomon on Feb 23, 2021 14:47:25 GMT
Syre couldn't blame Cion for her reaction. This was a once-in-a-lifetime moment, after all, and the happiness that both felt left their hearts fluttering. It was enough to stun the fox for several seconds, the BlackGatomon returning a smile and a nod towards the Arniomon.
"Looks like you've been waiting to hear those words for a long time, love."
What Syre didn't expect, however, was the additional sensation when the ring was put on. The moment it touched her tail, she felt a rush of warmth, one that flooded up to her chest. The feeling was brief, but definite: she felt Cion's longing, her love, her desire, throughout the core of her own frame. It was enough to actually make the feline shudder, but she did not falter - pulling Cion right into her grasp for that deep, intimate kiss.
No restraint, no hesitation - nothing was between these two in that perfect moment.
And as that kiss broke, and as Syre reached for the box, the feline felt her ear twitch at Cion's response, a chuckle escaping Syre's chest. "Really, what kind of answer is that? Sometime between the moment we first met, and the moment three minutes ago?" The cat playfully teased, but she understood. Such a thing was often hard to pinpoint, and it was something that the two of them had to grow into. As for the fennec's tail, the feline felt her lips curl into a smile, grasping the remaining ring into her left paw. The claws curled around that piece of metal, that metal responding to her own feelings and desires.
As she did so, the feline used her free hand to gently scratch down Cion's back, from her midsection to the top of her tailbone. "Mmm, I'm not leaving you waiting at all, love. But I certainly can't put it on when your tail is whipping around like that." Another tease, from a feline to a canine - but as that tail would calm down, that scratching hand would carefully run from the base of the tail to the tip, smoothing out the fur for what was to come.
Unlike the cat's thinner tail, Syre had to be careful not to go against the grain of Cion's fur. Once it was tapered down, she'd carefully let the ring slip on, the cat tilting her head a bit at it. "Mmm..." Maybe... there? A fourth of the way down the tail? Syre didn't know the exact spot to put it! "Just let me know where, hun. Tail-rings are more a Gatomon thing, so I don't know where its comfortable on you."
She'd get it settled in eventually, though - and after she did? The cat would take a step back to get a look at her work, and would take a moment to admire her own ring.
"Where did you get these? They're almost like holy rings..."

Had she truly been waiting to hear those words for a long time? Not directly, since the concept of marriage was quite novel to her, but undoubtedly the essence behind them. It was the complex, well-nigh daunting, sentiment that someone would mutually dedicate themself utterly and entirely to the bond they had forged. The idea of overcoming the past, cherishing the present and striving towards a better future together was which captivated her. The rites around them were simply an admittedly fascinating means to fulfill this desire. Fortunately, they had served their purpose well.
However, it was true that Cion had no concrete answer to the question that was posed. How exactly was she meant to quantify and pinpoint her feelings and their possible thresholds? Blessedly, Syre had not actually desired a real response to this little conundrum. It was but another one of her charming teases. Besides, current occurrences were of infinitely greater significance anyway. Thus it was with delight that she beheld the comely felidae infuse a fragment of her soul and heart into the platinum ring. Truth be told, she could not await to gain unadulterated insight into what the individual she loved felt for her.
And when the playful caresses began anew, the silver fennec was unable to help herself and lost herself in the pleasure of it. It was difficult to control her tail as the touch she experienced was rather intimate, but the fine gentlewoman eventually mustered her volition to do so. Naturally, though numbed by indirect fondling, she guided her partner's paw so the ideal spot would be found. In fact, the chosen location was indeed the end of her tailbone. The jewelry was initially frigid to her posterior, but upon internalizing its data an all-encompassing warmth filled the entirety of her being.
Shuddering softly, not unlike the joy of spooning with her dearest under a warm blanket in winter, her aureate eyes ultimately shifted to behold the candid BlackGatomon. The admiration for the gift was almost edged into her graceful snout, leaving the unassuming fox proud and content. "Luminas. And they are precisely that, but they were unfinished... that was until we completed them. They might not be infused with holy energy, but they are ours entire now." She explained calmly, confident that it suited the theme and was far more personal than a trinket coated in gemstones. Theirs would forever be unique to them alone.
Gently folding her arms, Cion's gaze too often drifted to the personalized artifact that had become a part of her due to Syre's love. Similar to the short, green scarf that shrouded her neck, it was a keepsake she'd never relinquish. Maybe eternity was not theirs to claim, but that did not mean she wanted to forget the centuries, perhaps even millennia, that still awaited them. Smiling raptly, her irises finally trailed the picnic items beneath them.
"Hey..." She spoke up, contemplation and likely a great suggestion marking her muzzle. "... I'm hungry. Like, I've barely eaten at all today - and you know my metabolism in this form. Moreover, you yourself had but a few morsels. So how about we store this here away and instead visit the best diner you can think of? Heck, if it has a takeaway service, we could also nestle down on our couch and watch television or play something at home. Whatever suits you - I'm game either way."

Of course, these rings weren't imbued with holy energy, and certainly didn't have the power that Syre's unholy ring had, but these were hardly meant to be 'articles of power'. To these two alone, they were warm reminders, and symbols, of the two's dedicated love for each-other, now tied to their respective data signals. The two basked in the beauty of those platinum bands, Syre's gaze only interrupted by Cion's comment.
"... Heh." With a light blush on her cheek, Syre reached underneath her glove, and pulled out her infini-store. Closing the box and re-sealing the containers that Cion had brought over, it didn't take long for the feline to start to put away that spread, as well as the blanket and cushions brought along with them. "You know me quite well, love. As much as I'd like to cook, today hardly seems like the day for it... mmm, and I think the rush in Whitewater might be a bit too much."
The feline mulled it over. "Let's get back to Terminus. I'll put in order in for a bunch of Chinese take-out, and we can spend the rest of the afternoon eating our fill. I'm sure there's a few movies we can agree on for pay-per-view, but c'mon." The feline teased: as everything was finally put away in that cube, Syre stowed it away once more. "You know we're going to end up putting on Mario Kart again."
Syre teased, but really, she wasn't wrong. It was an excellent way to kill the time, and so hilariously unbalanced that either of them could come back from almost a lap behind! Assuming her beloved agreed, Syre would open up the portal back to their quiet apartment, and give a call over to that familiar restaurant, both pouring over the menu to pick out what they wanted.
And it wouldn't be long before both would be on the couch, the feline stealing a nuzzle away from Cion's cheek. Home sweet home - a place that they had shared for almost a year, but right now, it seemed to hold even more meaning than it did before.
"Mm..." Leaning back into the couch, Syre gave a small blush. "Wonder how Holly, dad, and Silence are going to take the news. Actually, I wonder if Holly even knows what a 'proposal' is. Very much a 'human' thing..." The feline playfully mulled over the thought in her head. "Would anyone in this world even know how to hold a sermon?"

Truth be told, as Syre was so courteous as to pack up their belongings, Cion did not quite grasp what she intended to imply. She had not mentioned the idea of cooking themselves at all, nor was it her intention to visit a restaurant, a fancy one in particular, here in Whitewater. Was not a diner in Snowflake her darling's favorite? Had she simply been too implicit again? Hardly in her point of view, but perhaps it was the overwhelming bliss they experienced mutually that was slightly confounding the mind. It was a silly, yet perfectly understandable explanation.
As she continued to listen to her dearest's preferred suggestion, the silver fennec eventually shrugged and nodded easygoingly. Admittedly, she would have favored a hearty plate of hamburgers and fries, but eastern cuisine naturally had its merits as well. It was noticeably healthier and could be dined in spades without feeling stuffed. Both aspects were pretty much ideal for her heightened metabolism. Besides, staying at home was a splendid concept. It was an environment that she was acquainted with, and outplaying her sweetheart in a video game was always fun - unless they enjoyed something cooperatively that was. "Alrighty then!"
And thus it was in agreement that the loving duo returned to their cozy harbor in the residential sururbs of Terminus. With the spring sun steadily descending, they nonetheless had plenty of time to order whatever it was they wanted. As to be expected since it was Valentine's Day, it would take the producers longer than usual. However, that was not an issue in the slightest. The pleasant anticipation was capable of taming the unassuming fox's appetite, as was of course the snug warmth of the comely felidae by her side on the couch.
And after that delightful nuzzle had been claimed, Cion demonstrated her boldness by embracing her dearly beloved and spooning with her mercilessly. There was no escape from the great vulpine cuddly toy! Self-evidently, her hug was very gentle, thus she leaned back together with the onyx feline, looking forward to anything she wished to share. "Hmm..." She let out quietly, avowedly not having considered any of the facets that were brought up. Marriage was an alien concept to well-nigh every digimon, so was it necessary to abide by mankind's traditional process?
"Do we need or want a sermon... or a festivity?" She inquired, curious to learn if that was what her hon desired. If it was, she would certainly working towards the best wedding ever. If not, then that was perfectly fine, too. She relished small and quiet events.

Honestly, the diner that Syre would have preferred would have been in Terminus. She might have known a few places up in the mountains, but there was only so much 'hot chocolate and bundling up' that the BlackGatomon could take before she'd start to pine for the lower, more comfortable climates - and Syre wasn't against compromise, either. Though she was forward and often liked to speak up, if Cion made her request for burgers known, the cat would have likely adjusted.
As it was, though, the pair was set to dine in, and enjoy a 'healthy' amount of video games. With their collective order put in place, the BlackGatomon found herself biting her lip, once more feeling the fennec cuddle her from behind! With a giant smile and a chuckle, the feline would butt her head up, gently resting the top of her head against Cion's chin. "Mm, this is a new side of you today. Since when have you been the big spoon?"
Not that Syre minded, of course! She relaxed all the same, relenting to Cion's grip, even letting her hands gently run across Cion's forearms. Next came that curious question - did the two even need a sermon at all? Or was the proposal itself sufficient to show the bond between the two? "Mm... I... don't think mom and dad ever had one between themselves, now that I think about it. It was more like they grew into it and just... 'considered themselves partners' at some point." That said, there was no reason that history should determine how these two should handle the future.
"I guess it's a question of how important it is to us. I mean, I don't think we need to make a big deal about it, but... Silence, dad, maybe my sisters, they might like a little get-together, if only to take you in as part of the family."
Come to think of it? "Actually, I don't think you've met Amber and Coal? They're, um, my younger sisters - between dad and Silence, so I think that's called 'half sisters' or something?" More human terms! "Anyway... ugh, I dunno if I want to worry about all this thinking today."
After a moment, Syre would just give a chuckle, and gently step up, moving to set up the console in front of the TV. As for what they could find in Terminus, it actually wasn't hard to wrangle up an old Japanese Gamecube, with a decent assortment of games!
"The real question of the moment is what we're actually going to play. You got any picks?"

As silly as it initially sounded, the stance of their embrace was among Cion's most favorite. The sensation of Syre's head nestling up against her chin as thorax and limbs entwined was simply marvelous. This was not only due to the feline's soft fur and mellow yet brawny corpus, though both of course accentuated the feeling of security she experienced. In fact, was the latter she cherished so greatly. The sense of taking care of the other with mutual passion was indescribably wonderful. Was it as kindred spirits, spouses or merely cuddly mammalian entities, the pleasure was all-encompassing.
"Since always. Your compliance is duly noted." She jested with a playfully commanding voice, hoping for her petite beloved to melt in her grasp. Was it thanks or in spite of her words this indeed transpired, causing the silver fennec to feel pride in her accomplishment. Briefly savoring the blissful of today, their minds before long returned to a potentially urgent matter of the future. The notion of a sermon and its additional rites was not bizarre to her, as unusual as the concept of marriage was for any digimon, but neither did she harbor the urge to imitate humans in every facet. She was not mesmerized by everything that originated from this species, just the few good bits.
Nonetheless, the suggestions that were put forth by her darling were likewise simple as they were enchanting. Since the unassuming fox lacked a truly close family, why not share the stupendous news with Syre's? She had parental figures, siblings and perhaps dear friends who would gladly seize the opportunity to celebrate with them. "I'd like that." She voiced her approval in hushed, dreamy whispers. The sentiment of becoming a part of her kin... it was an odd idea, but she nevertheless esteemed it.
Blinking rapidly as if snapping out of her daydream, Cion tried to remember if she had met stated sisters earlier, but as far as she could recall she had not. Shrugging softly, she figured it was of no importance for this relaxing evening. Solely their intimate togetherness did. Forced to release her lap cat for an arduous minute, the vulpine lady contemplated what she wished to play. "Hmm... Double Dash - us against 150cc AI? Maybe Mirror Mode if already unlocked?" She asked in reference to previous train of thoughts, confident that it sounded like an enjoyable and challenging experience.
But ultimately, it no longer was of concern to her what it was they were doing. This day was, undoubtedly so, one, if not the best, in her inconceivably vast existence. Her literal lifetime dream had come true, and only the desire to share this glee with her sweetheart remained. ... That and possibly her wolfish appetite. It was probably advised to utilize the television and her murrs to drown out her growling tummy. Hopefully the later helped with predominating vibrations, too. Cuddling sometimes was an art form.

'Since always'.
Those two playful words earned an equally playful chuckle from the feline, who made it a point to crane her neck up and nuzzle right to the base of Cion's chin. Joking or not, this was definitely a new, or at least a less-explored, side of the fox. More often than not, it was Syre who initiated, who 'snuck up behind her love' and gave these sorts of caresses. To actually be in Cion's grip was more of a rarity, and definitely not an unwelcome one. The warm feline actually found herself comfortable, and it wouldn't have been bad to spend the whole night like this...
... But, alas, the drive to do 'something' eventually outdid that comfort. It didn't take long for the feline to listen to Cion's idea - to get straight to the point with Mario Kart. "Mm, sounds good to me!" 'Tetris' often turned out to be too one-sided one way, and 'Mario Party', well, the two really didn't need to test their relationship today of all days, right? It didn't take long for the game to get up and running, and for Syre to return to the couch and lean right up against Cion - which set up their next few hours, Syre using her team of Luigi and Green Koopa to try and do her best at these confusing tracks.
The two would laugh, the two would blame the game for each unfortunate blue shell, and the two would have a generally good time. Hearing her love's hunger start to rouse up, the feline would give a small chuckle, her tail giving a flick - casually wrapping around Cion's ankle. "Careful, there. Wouldn't want that distraction to make you veer off the course, hm?"
The feline's warm tease was broken by a knock at the door, the sudden noise enough for the feline's fur to briefly stand on edge. It took another moment to remember just what it was - their food order - before the cat shook her head and paused the game. Syre stood up, straightening out her fur a bit before answering the door. And just a few moments later, the cat walked back in the room with two bulging plastic bags pull of Chinese food.
"Let's see... egg rolls, sesame chicken, fried rice... ah, there's the shrimp..." The feline's tail gave an expectant flick, as she sorted the containers on the coffee table, looking at their veritable banquet. "Enough Chinese food for a small party, and yet its just for the two of us!" Syre beamed, reaching a hand right around Cion's back, nuzzling her cheek right up to her love's.
This was warm, this was ideal. And the next several minutes would likely have a lot less talking - the two were hungry, of course!

A side that Cion had not revealed too frequently as of yet? Perhaps, but her impulses were certainly understandable to most. Naturally, in spite of the unconditional affection she felt for Syre, her past had not ceased its sway over her. There remained hesitation, doubt and uncertainty which festered within her - not due to a facet of her dearly beloved, but the silver fennec herself. She understood what it meant to be rash, confused and zealous... and the pain these attributes begot. But since asking the crucial question and receiving its positive answer after disclosing her flaws, she had experienced a sense of freedom from her burdens.
It was clear that occasionally her scars would open again to harrow her. It was well-nigh inevitable, for the psyche was an incomprehensible enigma. But she had the certainty that she would not be alone to face these sudden moments of anguish. Of infinitely greater importance was the bliss and joy she could savor together with her partner... her spouse. She wanted to relish every minute, and waste not a single second. Fortunately, time enjoyed wasting was not wasted. And thus she held her darling in a mutual caress to eventually glory in digital entertainment.
And what a marvelous few hours they were. Of course they contained ineffable amounts of grief and frustration, but such was the nature of casual fun. No ill feeling lingered for but an instant, and they were usually not directed at the responsible party anyway, but at the medium itself. As for the unassuming fox's ravenous appetite, containing it was indeed difficult. Nonetheless, the comment about it made her blush in slight shame. Was the output of the audio not sufficiently loud to drown out the cacophony of her bodily functions? Blessedly, the awkwardness was alleviated before long.
Rubbing her paws and briefly licking her lips, the scent of surprisingly healthy, hearty food entered her petite nostrils as the onyx felidae returned with several, spacious bags. Everything that was listed sounded fantastic - particularly because Cion had ordered the lion's share of it. Her hightened metabolism was her boon and bane. "Knowing my love hungry? Perish the thought!" She exclaimed in an intentionally exaggerated way. However, there was an aspect of sincerity and truth in these words. There was no need or wish of her sweetheart that she intended to leave unsatisfied. Such was the pride she took in the role as her special someone.
As she was caught in a lasting embrace by said feline, she chuckled with glee. It was bound to be a bit obstructive to dine in this fashion, but far was it from the vulpine lady to reject the warm, soft touch of her hun's cheek and grasp. ... even if the former constantly shifted and swayed due to chewing motions. All and everything was truly ideal nonetheless.

Well, yes, the video games could get a touch competitive between these two, but Cion would be well-aware of Syre's competitive nature by now! Any frustration was brief, and was generally followed by a smile, a chuckle, or boisterous laughter at the 'double blue shell' incident, which devolved into a concerted effort to try and drive Bowser off the road. It was clear as day that Syre was enjoying herself, and the feline saw the same in the fox.
Chuckling a bit at her love's blush, it didn't take long for the two to sort out all of the containers, a veritable feast for the two hungry carnivores. And of course, Syre wouldn't spend the entire meal cuddled up to Cion's side. Rather, it was a brief nuzzle before the two would take to their plates, and indulge themselves on this delicious assortment of Chinese takeout. Fried rice, seasoned and spicy chicken, shrimp, egg rolls, even a bit of fried octopus.
There was definitely enough to sate the both of them! Once the two had their fill, and once the dishes were in the sink and the kitchen trash full of take-out cardboard, Syre would once more find herself on the couch, cuddling right up to Cion, head resting on her shoulder. She had her D-Terminal out at arms length, the BlackGatomon smiling for the camera as she took a couple of pictures.
"Heh." Setting the device down, the feline would right against her love, nuzzling right up to the Arnimon's shoulder. She wrapped one arm behind Cion's back, once more pulling the fennec into that comfortable embrace. "This day has been perfect, Cion. Nice, simple, entirely our pace... and I got to spend it all with you." From the brief beach picnic, to that heart-to-heart talk, to that picturesque moment... this day felt so long, and yet so fast in the same breath. Oh, if life could be so simple as to just melt into the arms of another.
Well, Syre could live that fantasy for the moment. The feline's free arm would move up to cup the side of Cion's head, resting against her cheek, as Syre would press her muzzle right up against Cion's. Once more, the feline would give a kiss, a subtle press of her lips, inviting her partner to return it. Past that?
Cion's intent to 'lead' today wasn't lost on Syre. So, for today, perhaps at least for the moment, Syre left the pace in Cion's hands.

Utilizing the D-Terminal's function to take photos - why had Cion not considered this marvelous idea sooner? Well, to be fair, she was an entity with a well-nigh perfect recall, for better or worse, thus there was hardly a need for her capture special moments in life in a physical medium. Still, she could not simply expect the same from her dearly beloved, and the sentiment behind this act was enchanting, too. Hence, though composed as almost always, she granted the camera a confident and slaphappy simper alongside her darling. Today truly was a day worth eternizing, even if it was potentially for merely a single lifetime.
And then, gladly submitting to Syre's volition, she was pulled into an affectionate yet firm embrace. Upon hearing these wonderful words that were uttered, the silver fennec loosened her stance and decided to fall into the onyx felidae's arms. It was unbecoming and atypical for her to admit such trust and reliance, if not dependence, but it was evident that she had no fear left inside her heart pertaining to who she was in the presence of her partner. This moment... no the centuries, perhaps millennia ahead of them, were promising idyllic serenity.
"I would not know a better way to say what you just did." She confessed soft-spokenly, nodding gently as a amused chuckle escaped her lips. It was likewise a compliment and a statement of appreciation. And as they stood there, the dusk of past lives turning to a nocturnal proem, an invitation was implicitly emphasized. Although not quite an intention to lead, it was but natural that the unassuming fox had contemplated this unique instance of a holiday innumerable times. Fortunately, for once, reality was infinitely greater than any desperate longing or fantastical sweven.
Truth be told, as they lingered in the varicolored sheens of the city and stars, it felt as if events were transpiring by themselves. Held in that gentle kiss, she shut her eyelids for what was maybe a few seconds, yet was a small eternity from her point of view. And as the awoke, her aureate eyes perceived nothing but her dearest's amber ones surrounded by pitch-black unimportance, a thousand dulcet thoughts entered her mind. The unfathomable beauty she saw, the pleasant touch of their entwining muzzles and warm breaths, the nearly imperceptible rhythms of their cores that beat in unity... even the faint scent of lavender of her sweetheart that bewitched her.
The vulpine lady conceded that her carnal belle were as appealing as the radiant soul within. And as their heads rested on their pillow, a thin blanket covering their cozily soft frames... she smiled. And then she grinned. The dreaminess in her expression was practically uncontrollable, but it was similarly absolute in its genuineness. This was the effect Syre in her entirety had on her - pure bliss. She was not hesitant to display this. And as the tip of her thumb caressed her hon's cheek, a desire to voice her feelings arose.
"I love you... my spouse." She stated in hushed whispers. The former part was something she only vocalized in serene instances, while the latter was a stupendous addendum she herself savored. This was her life now - she was, which was a notion of utmost magnificence. For a second, the was back on their first evening together, where everything had begun with a question. Tonight, she wanted to be the one to ask for this familiar fondness. "... Might I be so brash, as to ask for a kiss on the first date?" She asked with a somewhat tongue-in-cheek tone. Those were her initiating words, so it seemed fitting to repeat them.
One might go so far as to call them an attempt at a... repeat gift.

Oh, this was definitely an easily-shared sentiment, and the two hardly had to put more words into it. Syre could easily put her guard down around Cion, and the fox let herself be dragged right into the feline's grip. Cion's chuckle was met with Syre's grin, the feline's forehead pressed right up against her love's. A little more than a year ago, such a feeling would have been nothing but fantasy.
But now?
Syre felt her lips press right against Cion's, the two closing their eyes as they shared that brief, intimate moment. It was as if the world itself fell to the wayside, and for that single second, all that existed and all that mattered was the one held in each-other's arms. That first kiss lasted but a few seconds, but as the two gave a pause, as the two beheld each-other's eyes, Syre felt a deep longing in her heart - one that she was certain was also pulling on Cion's heartstrings.
"Mm... and I love you." Such short, simple words, but there was no better way to describe the feeling, even to such a verbose partner as Cion. "My love... my fiance." That last word brought a low, pleased giggle to the feline's chest, as she held herself close, and heard those playful words - ones that quickly brought memories of their first date, an unbelievable year ago at this point.
The BlackGatomon's cheeks felt flush, a redness even showing through her darkened fur, as she felt the fox's passion lying underneath. "Of course, Cion." The feline's playfulness remained, no shock nor hesitation in the feline's expression - but there was definitely a change in tone. The feline's heart racing in her chest, the definite warmth in Syre's breath... the feline held herself close once more. The last kiss was something more of a peck, a symbol of affection between the two.
The one that Syre gave Cion now was one of passion: complete, without restraint, and lasting a minute or more. Each could feel the other's breath, the other's heart race, the other's warmth. And as their lips parted, Cion would feel the feline's paws curl around Cion's shoulders, and see the light of passion in Syre's eyes.
Syre took a breath, and managed to curl her lips to show a pleased, greedy grin.
"Well... shall we?"
