An EXPLOSIVE encounter. (Hinoka)

It was a warm and sunny day out on the Network Plains. Truly, a perfect day for Hana and the twins to be outside, preparing to enjoy a nice picnic lunch. Hana and Rush went to work laying out a red cloth for the trio to sit on, while Data could only observe due to his lack of hands. But even without hands, he could still keep an eye on the food they had brought, making sure nobody stole it while they weren't looking.
With the picnic cloth laid out, the trio sat down and prepared to eat the bagged sandwiches and rice balls they had brought along to eat. While Rush started gobbling down his portion, Han slowly ate her sandwich as she took in the natural beauty of the grassy plains.
"Ah, isn't this just perfect?" Hana asked between bites of her sandwich.
"Indeed. Sometimes I forget just how beautiful this place can be." Data agreed. As a fully mechanical Digimon, Data didn't really care for eating regular food. So he merely floated and enjoyed the view while the others ate.
Truly, it seemed as if nothing could interrupt this picture-perfect day.

Spinning her wand, which is made far less impressive when you realize its a torn branch from an oak tree. Hinoka stepped across the lush, green flatland that surrounded Terminus City.
“Today is a perfect day. The sun is out. Not a cloud in the sky...” Hinoka said, a nasty smirk pulling at the sides of her face.
The young Arch Wizard looked left and right, in an almost cartoonish fashion. Expecting someone to appear from across the flatland to lecture her. At least that’s how it usually went.
Content that all was silent. “Most importantly, not a single soul to tell me to stop what I am about to do.”
She pressed a hand to her forehead and smirked even more devilishly. Her eyes sparkling with crimson glory. Her cheeks flushing an equal amount of cherry red.
“Now! Here we go!”
From within her pocket, she pulled out the little red device that she had gained several days previous. It sat in the palm of her hands. The tiny golden runes that had been carved over the surface of the device, glittering in the sunlight.
“Execute! Spirit Evolution!”
Hinoka cried the words to the heavens, holding the device up over her head. In a second, a great white light engulfed her body. The hat, cloak and tunic and were replaced by bronze-colored armor with silver trim. Her hair grew longer, puffed out and turned brightest orange. Like a living flame. As did what turned into a tail, that hung behind her.
The wand that she held was replaced by an honest-to-goodness wizard staff. A red jewel hovered between the pieces of wood. Again, she grinned, almost maliciously. Her transformation into the Digimon known as Flamemon was now complete.
All of this was very new to Hinoka and she had only taken this transformation a handful of times. Excitement flooding her, she span the staff around in her hands. Unwilling to wait any longer as her power grew ever more. A burning flame that had lost control.
“Now. I will prove it! I am the greatest Arch Wizard in the entire world!”
Hinoka held up the staff to the heavens and began to speak in a clear voice. A circle of magic appearing under her feet and began to swirl and circle around her. Lighting up the plains with an eerie red glow.
“Oh, staff from the heavens. Channel these great flames as so I can obliterate my enemies! I call for a torrent of power without equal! Return all creation to cinders and then return from the abyss! E X P L O S I O N!”
The peace and calm was ripped from the air. As a terrible explosion ripped through the once calm plains. A great amount of dirt, dust and rubble was thrown into the air subsequently vaporized. The sound of the explosion would be heard for a long way and it had echoed back. A ringing and deafening boom.
All that remained, as a result was the crater. A blight on the once beautiful landscape. At the edge of the crater lay the fallen form of Hinoka, still in Flamemon form but unable to move. Her body limp and unmoving. Her face pressed into the dirt.
“Yeaaah….” Hinoka said, unable to even raise her hand to cheer.

The deafening boom of the distant explosion caused Hana to choke on the bite of sandwich she was eating, prompting Rush to zoom over and start performing the Heimlich maneuver on his human partner. Once Hana had coughed up the food stuck in her throat, she turned around and hugged the Keramon while repeating the words "thank you" over and over.
"Annnnd of course there's an explosion. Is it really too much to ask for one peaceful day in the Digital World without getting caught up in something crazy?" Data grumbled in irritation. "Alright, I know the drill. We're gonna charge towards the massive explosion's location and see what's going on over there, regardless of the danger that we could run into."
"You know it's the right thing to do, Data." Hana chided. "We need to make sure nobody's hurt."
"I know, I know." Data replied with a sigh. "Let's just go and get this over with."
The group quickly packed up the picnic supplies before heading towards the location of the explosion. When they arrived, all they could see was a massive crater with an orange-haired Digimon laying facedown in the dirt. Hana quickly ran down into the crater towards the fallen Digimon, where Hana gently poked the prone form of the Flamemon with her finger.
"Are you okay?"

“That was… a good… a good one… I think,” Hinoka said to herself. A slight grin returning to the slightly burned and blackened face. “But, I can do better…I am the best Arch Wizard that the Digital World has ever seen, after all. I can do better.”
The young wizard tried to push herself back up, but it was no good. Her arms felt like jelly, as did her legs and the rest of her body. “Maybe...maybe later, then.”
So she was now content to just lie in this crater until… either some form of energy returned to her or was picked up. Although, that was highly unlikely.
So, the young wizard lay in the crater. Face down, head in the burned dirt. With only her thoughts to keep her company, but those were mostly just how to make more explosions. Her staff lay a few meters away, perfectly fine. She could see it out of the corner of her eye. The crimson gem glittered from the falling sunlight that reflected from it.
The sound of footsteps caused the crumpled body of Hinoka to move ever so slightly. Although, she was still unable to sit up or even move her head. Unable to do much, Hinoka waited. Wondering if the whoever or whatever it was, planned on moving closer.
Soon enough, they did just that. The little Arch Wizard felt someone fall into the crater beside her. A gentle prod on the side of her face followed this. From the angle that she lay she couldn’t make out who was by her side. She hoped it wasn’t Rex. She couldn’t live down the shame of being stuck in a position like this. He would make fun of her.
A kind voice asked if she was okay. But it was a female voice, a kind female voice. Definitely not Rex, unless he had taken up voice acting in the days since we last met.
“Oh, uh… hey” Hinoka muttered, face still in the dirt. So her voice was slightly muffled.
“I can explain. I guess. Uh, well, you see. I am the GREAT Arch Wizard. My name is… Hinoka. But, you’ve probably heard of me by now. I am quite famous for my magical prowess.”
“I’m a little stuck, right now. I mean not physically stuck but… I just can’t move for a bit. So, uh, yeah. That’s my story. What’s yours?”

"I'm Hana, and the twins are Data and Rush. Buuuut I realize you can't see them while lying facedown in the dirt." Hana said.
"Arch Wizard Hinoka? Can't say I've heard of you. The only magical Digimon we've met were a Wizardmon and a Wisemon." Data added.
"Well, let's roll you over so you're face isn't in the dirt. Rush, come help me with this." Hana to Hinoka, as Hana and Rush rolled the Flamemon onto her back. "There we go. Now you can actually see us. Data's the Hagurumon, and the Keramon is Rush. It's nice to meet you, Miss Hinoka."
"Care to tell us WHY you were blowing up a perfectly nice field?" Data asked in irritation. "You ended up ruining our lunch."
"DATA! That is not how we talk to people. You should apologize to her right now!" Hana scolded.
"I'm not going to apologize to someone who nearly made you choke to death on your lunch, Hana." Data sassed in response. "Forgive me if the fact that you nearly died is making me feel less than courteous at the moment."
"Water?" Rush asked, offering a bottle of water to Hinoka while being oblivious to the argument between Hana and Data.

Admittedly this was a bit of a sticky situation, but could be worse, right? Patiently, Hinoka listened to the introductions being done. As she had little better to do, mainly due to the fact that she couldn’t move or walk right now.
With some effort the unknown party around her, decided to roll the girl over. So instead of looking down into the dirt. Hinoka was now looking up at a clear, cloudless sky. As well, as to the heads that floated over her, looking down on her with interest.
“Oh hey, nice to meet you. You look nicer than the dirt,” Hinoka said less than seriously. Her eyes scrolling from face to face.
A girl, a friendly looking girl with straight black hair. A grumpy looking gear and an odd-looking alien thing. Quite an interesting assortment of faces.
Again, admittedly. Hinoka wasn’t paying too much attention to what was going on above her. It seemed like they were arguing but it wasn’t too important. At least not to her.
“I was practicing my explosions. Obviously. You know, for fun and to increase their power. But it had a nice side-effect. Called I can’t move for a while. But, it’s fine. This happens to Arch Wizard’s all the time. You often see the wizards slumped on their faces. It’s why wizards tend to have beards, protection for your face,” she mumbled.
Sooner or later, she’d get the feeling back in her legs and then she could be on her way. Maybe get some lunch, or blow up another field. Who knows. The sky is the limit when you’re an Arch Wizard.
“No water, thanks,” Hinoka said, unable to move her head away from the water bottle that was hovering right over her forehead. “I’m peachy. I’m great. I just need to rest and get some energy back and then I’ll be off.”
All seemed pretty okay. Until. Another set of footsteps sounded. These were heavy and steeped with aggression. Like a tiny earthquake, or an elephant on the rampage.
“Oii! You’ze! Shiny!” The monster directed itself at Data first. Hinoka could see the reflection of the thing reflected by Data’s shiny body. It was green and impish. With tiny yellow eyes and an aggressive and angered face. It held a wooden club in one hand and was having it above his head. Clearly enraged. “You’ze! You’ze! You’ze! You’ze!”
“You’ze woke me up! With ya’ big booms! It make me… feel… A-N-G-E-R-Y” The Goblimon spelled out, jumping up and down at the edge of the crater.
“Uh, not to kick a ‘mon. When he's down and all. But that’s not how you spell angry,” Hinoka called from the crater. Unable to stop herself from antagonizing the poor thing.

"Oh for crying out loud. You're not the only one who has a grievance to file with Miss Bombergirl over here, so wait your turn. And don't blame me for her actions." Data told the Goblimon. He could understand the Goblimon's anger, but Data as simply too pissed off to care at the moment. He just wanted to get this over with, so that the three partners could go on with their day.
And yet, He was still stunned by the Flamemon's sheer nerve to antagonize the angry Goblimon while she was essentially still paralyzed from her earlier explosion. Data promptly facepalmed himself with one of his gears, before saying, "You have got be kidding me. Are you trying to get yourself killed, Hinoka?"
"Mr. Goblimon? Maybe we can talk about this over some food? We still have some sandwiches left over from our lunch." Hana offered, trying to deescalate the situation before it erupted into an actual fight.

This Goblimon sure was aggravated. But there wasn’t exactly much that Hinoka could do about it. She was still comatose and unable to move for… some time.
“Mrs Bomber Girl has a name, you know! Gearface!” She said, giving the Hagurumon a dirty look. “LOOK! It’s Hinoka! As in the V E R Y famous Hinoka! Master of great magic. Wielder of Ex–“
Clearly annoyed, the green goblin stomped up and down, ever louder. Swinging his club over his head as it did so. “I dun care about spellin’. I care ‘bout sleeping! You woke me up with THAT loud boom boom noise! I hate THAT!”
Hinoka decided to ignore the tantrum of the goblin-kind and turned her head slowly and stiffly back towards Data to answer their question.“Not usually, no. I think it’s more fun to give a dazzling array of magic. Wouldn’t you agree?”
The Arch Wizard’s eyes became starry and filled with bright excitement at the thought of being able to release another explosion. As violent, loud and volatile as the last one had been.
“NO MORE NOISE! NO MORE!!” The Goblimon roared, ever louder. Clearly growing more annoyed due to the fact that no-one was giving it much attention. Until the girl spoke and kindly offered it some of their food.
The Goblimon paused for a second. Thinking hard. Clearly a difficult task for the pea brain. But after several seconds of thought. It said in a cold and angry voice. “What if I just TAEK ALL OF the foods! T-A-E-K it all!”
With a devilish smirk across her face . Hinoka opened her mouth to comment on the spelling for a second time but before she had a chance. The Goblimon had swung his club at Data. The closest to the Goblin, hoping to knock it out.

"Is that really the best you can do? A wooden club won't do much to a Digimon that's made of metal, you idiot." Data deadpanned, easily dodging the Goblimon's telegraphed swing. "Clearly you're not exactly the smartest Goblimon around."
"Don't keep antagonizing him, Data." Hana said, irritation lacing her voice as she rubbed her right temple at the Goblimon's sheer volume. She sighed, before saying, "Well, I tried being nice. If you're just gonna be a bully, then I guess we'll just have to teach you a lesson. Data, Rush, you guys know what to do!"
"With pleasure. Why don't you get a taste of this? Viral Code!" Data exclaimed, launching a ball of 1's and 0's at the Goblimon.
"Hehehehe! Bug Blaster!" Rush added with a giggle, spitting out an energy bullet at the Goblimon. "Yeah, that's the way to do it! Give him everything you got, guys!" Hana cheered. She had absolute faith that the twins could handle a single Goblimon. Moves used: Viral Code: Infects foes with a computer virus that confuses them for 1 turn, rendering them unable to attack. The Goblimon swung his club right at Data, hoping to knock him out. But the attack was easily dodged. “Goblimon! No Like! You GONNA lose!”
From her ‘cratered’ position, Hinoka could hear but not see the battle that was waging overhead. “Aww, man. Come on!! It’s not fair, you can’t have an epic battle without me!!”
Then, it was Data and Rush’s turn. The Goblimon crumpled from the attacks striking his body. First, stunned by an electrical attack and blown backwards by a burst of energy. The Goblimon fell, head over heel and landed in the very same crater that Hinoka lay in.
“Oh, uh, hey! How’s it goin’” Hinoka said, unable to raise her arm. But contented herself by rolling her eyes. “I see you’re having a hard time. I thought that Goblimon were tough or really stupid. Oh yeah, that was it. Goblimon are really really stupid.”
The little green goblin pushed itself up, rubbing its head. It took a few seconds for the peanut-brained goblin to realize that Hinoka was both goading and antagonizing it.
“Goblimon! No! Stop! Goblimon gunna beat you all! You gonna di–” The Goblimon was suddenly lit up by a bright white light. A very familiar light.
“Oh crud,” Hinoka said. “We gotta a big problem down here!”
The white light faded and revealed the monster within. The small goblin had vanished. Now it was a truly dangerous monster. Big, muscular and green. A long mane of grizzled white hair fell down its back. A blood red highlight ran through it.
A tongue lulled out of the mouth, with a spike running through it. It looked and smelt repulsive. Which was unfortunate since it stood right over Hinoka.
“NoW bYe ByE!”
The Ogremon X grunted, with a cold and merciless laugh following these words. It raised its new weapon. Oddly enough, it was something between a chainsaw and an electric guitar.

Hana, who had backed away and taken a quick break from cheering to take a drink of water, ended up doing a spit take at the Goblimon's digivolution. "Ooooh, this escalated quickly."
"Fire girl, stop. Talking. You're only making things worse. No c**p, we have a big problem!" Data yelled at the paralyzed girl. The Hagurumon was so ticked off that he was literally steaming from sheer anger. Turning to the Ogremon X, Data glared and challenged the giant. "Alright, you want a piece of me, Chuckles? Come and get it! Crash Device!"
Data coated himself in electricity and charged straight at the Ogremon X, aiming to ram him head on. While Data charged in, Rush moved in between the ogre and Hana.
"Bad Ogre not hurt family!" Rush hissed at the champion-level Digimon. He and his brother may still only be rookies, but they refused to give up.

Okay so… a quick update. Bad news, the Goblimon digivolved into a real ogre and there was no doubt it was her fault. Good news, feeling was beginning to return to Hinoka’s legs and other extremities.
The Ogremon grinned nastily. The combined ‘axe-and-guitar-weapon’ raised over its head. “NoW bYe ByE!!”
Unable to move or defend herself in anyway. Hinoka has no choice but to accept her fate. She closed her eyes, awaiting the devastating blow to be stuck.
Nothing happened.
Hinoka opened her left eye and peered out. The Ogremon had taken several steps away. Literally pushed away from her. It seemed completely unscathed by Data’s attack, but at least she was safe.
“Nice save! I owe you one!” Hinoka said, turning her head to look at Data. She had been about to say something mocking to the Ogremon and his lack of aim but before he had a chance the green monster swung hard with its weapon, attempting to strike down Data in return. Sending a measure of earth up into the air with it.
Now even more furious after this latest attack, the ogre considered its options. Turning his head from side-to-side, it was trying to decide on a target.
Should it go for the loud, annoying girl, first?
No, no. It should save her for last. A fitting end for the annoying pest. Ogremon licked its lips as it considered everyone else.
The blank eyes turned again. Looking at Data first, then to Rush who was hissing at it. But it decided with its tiny pea-brain to focus on the other girl. It laughed a merciless and evilly cold laugh and began to barrel across the battlefield.
“YoU fIrSt!” It roared, raising its combo-weapon once again. “I eNjOy SqUaShInG yOu!” With a look of true evil across the green features. The Ogremon swung the club right at Hana.

"Ahhhh!" Data cried out, as the Ogremon X's swing sent him flying backwards into his brother. Both twins ended up crashing to the ground in a dazed heap. "Ow. I'll admit, not my best plan.""Guys, no!" Hana cried out, running over to her partners to check on them. "Are you okay?""Yeah. Just give us a second." Data replied. He had a small dent on his forehead from the force of the Ogremon X's swing, but was otherwise fine. After a moment's recovery, both twins got back up just in time for the Ogremon to state his intention of going after Hana first and start charging at them. "NOOOO!" The brothers cried out in sync, moving between the charging Ogremon and their Tamer. Both brothers were enveloped in a bright light as the Ogremon reached them and prepared to swing his combo-axe. When the light cleared, it was not the two rookies but a purple-and-red knight wielding a pair of swords that were used to stop the ogre's attack. "You will NOT hurt Hana! For your heinous act, I, ShadowGrademon, will STRIKE YOU DOWN!" The knight exclaimed. As his swords were occupied in holding back the Ogremon's weapon, ShadowGrademon aimed a knee jab at the giant's stomach to try and force him backwards. All manner of crazy was going on!
The Ogremon was readying itself to do something really bad. The axe-guitar club was raised up into the air. A look of true evil contorting the already ugly features of the ogre. “Go NoW!”
It all happened very suddenly. The club was about to drop and there was nothing that Hinoka could do. Data and Rush moved as one, each crying out for their human partner.
The two partners of Hana lit up, bright as Christmas. Two became one.
The Hagurumon and Keramon had vanished and to replace them was… well, a giant and super cool-looking (in Hinoka’s opinion) armored warrior. Purple and red armor coated the body from head to foot. A long cape fell behind them.
Hinoka whistled as she watched from afar. Now back on her feet, she stood at the edge of the crater, she had created. Her staff limply hanging from her hand. She could intervene and help but it appeared that this new warrior was doing just fine for the moment.
The twin swords held back the ogres weapon with ease. Ogremon roared, as its anger grew out of control. It tried to push back but the ShadowGrademon’s strength was equal or possibly more than its own. A knee to the stomach sent the Ogremon reeling backwards.
“Soooo…. Let me know if you need a break… or some help or… something?” Hinoka said limply, watching with both mixed amazement and awe.
Though, the same couldn’t be said for the Ogremon. The beast roared loudly, spit flying from the mouth. It cried out with great anger.
“I kIlL yOu FoR tHaT!”
It raised its arm and put a hand out. Pointing the palm directly at ShadowGrademon, it released a powerful burst of dark energy from it. “TyRaNt FiSt!”

"Get back, Hana. I can take this from here." ShadowGrademon advised, turning his head towards his partner. Hana nodded in agreement and moved away from the fight. ShadowGrademon then turned his head towards Hinoka and said, "If you truly wish to aid me, then by all means join in anytime you wish. The sooner we stop this monster, the better."
The dark knight calmly marched towards the Ogremon, swords at the ready. When the Ogremon launched his Tyrant Fist attack at the knight, he sheathed his right sword in order to counter the incoming projectile.
"Dark Palm!" ShadowGrademon exclaimed. His hand crackling with dark energy, he delivered an open-handed strike to the incoming attack, causing it to dissipate almost harmlessly. The dark knight shook his hand out a bit before redrawing his sword.
"I have to admit, that attack of yours actually hurt a bit. This might just be interesting after all." ShadowGrademon taunted. This was a calculated move on the knight's part. If he got the Ogremon angry enough, it would be more likely to make a mistake that leaves it open to an attack.
Move used:
Dark Palm: An open-handed strike, charged with dark energy. Medium damage, 2 post cooldown. 0/2
