""How's the hostage situation?" Agent Maria asked the man who now accessing the security footages of the subway tunnel. If there are something that she's highly thankful for is the fact that they could hack the security footages and rewire it to their own monitors....
"So far, the hostages are not harmed, ma'am." one of the operatives answered. "Currently we monitored about several Digimons... They're... Knight types or warrior types, at least from their visuals."
"The leader is as expected, is this Dark Knightmon huh."
Maria's eyes affixed at the dark variation of Knightmon who stood right in front of several tied hostages. There are several other Digimons at adult level like Musyamon, Dinohumon, Minotaurmon and also Buraimon.. Basically speaking, they're all mostly humanoid warriort type Digimon. She expected that this is not the last of their force, though... There might be more.
"...What's the estimates on the backups?" Maria asked again.
"We don't have any clues, Ma'am. Presently Agent Tiger has slipped through Digital World."
"Is that so..."
With the surface being closed, and Agent Tiger had to resort to go through different route... her team must basically enters a different entry point also to pass. However, the entry point is... way too risky to do solo. That's why upon hearing that assistance were asked, she... felt slightly calmer, but not fully calm either. Assistance from other parties is like mixed bag. By all definitions, most humans who are partnered with Digimons happened to be civillian. They're untrained in operatives like this. Basically, boils down to their personality. The DATS agent bit her lip slightly in anxiousness.
"...I really don't want to delay any longer.. Especially because of that one. That one has been stading there silently until now..." Maria pointed at the Dark Knightmon. "When a perpetrator's body language isn't really showing it's... a really concerning things. You can't gauge their mood from that. You don't know when on earth it'll move... Anyway, is it possible to wire this footage to my tablet or something, visual only?"
"We'll try to, Ma'am."
"Thank you. Noir, Ciel, we'll be moving. If the help is here, please direct them ot secret entrance. I'll be waiting there."
"Understood, Ma'am. Please do be careful."
"I know."
With that, Agent Maria heads out.... This is a situation that she's not sure she have the ability to handle, but... She have to preserve. It's... going to be a really long day...

Adrian, his partner Shoutmon and Shoutmon's son Luneth were all beyond mortified to read the message when it appeared on Tamernet. Several Perfect level Digimon appearing, as well as taking hostages? It didn't matter what goal they had, taking people hostage and disturbing the peace and security of others was a huge mistake. Things were bad when even that Hackmon from DATS was asking others for help.
"DATS are those guys that want to evict us from the human world, aren't they?" Luneth asked. "Why are they asking us for help?"
"Because many human lives are in danger, they can't take any risks and there's not that many of them," Adrian said. "At least not that many with their own Digimon. Shoutmon, we gotta go down there and help."
"Agreed," Shoutmon said with nod. He turned around to face his son. "Luneth, head back home. I don't want you mixed up in this, we'll meet up with you later."
"Father, that's not fair, I want to help-"
"You can't help!" Shoutmon prematurely yelled. After a few moments of staring at each other, Shoutmon turned back to Adrian. "Come on, let's go." Adrian hesitated, but he did end up releasing his digital car from the storage in his Digivice onto the street next to them. Shoutmon was sucked into the V-Pet as Adrian got into the car and drove away, leaving Luneth to his own devices. As soon as the two of them reached Shibuya Terminal, with Shoutmon inside of the V-Pet, they would discover that the entire station was blocked off, with no clear way of getting in. "Damn it, what am I going to do now? Wait a second..." Adrian took another look at the message on his D-Terminal. "The rail tunnels, right..."
Adrian sucked up his vehicle using his Digivice before running down the railway tunnels. The trains were all shut down, so he didn't have to worry about being run over at least. After reaching the end of the tunnel, Adrian walked up the stairs to the entry level of the station, which was now devoid of people and it was very disturbing to see such a thing. He looked around and saw a couple of DATS operatives and one of the main agents, Maria.
"Agent Maria, I presume?" Adrian asked, letting Shoutmon out of the V-Pet. "We got Machine's message. I'm Adrian Boriker, and this is my partner Shoutmon. We're here to help in any way we can."

It was apparently not an uncommon thing for people to put distress signals on Tamernet, and that included DATS. It was odd to remember for Hisato that the organization...technically counted as tamers too. Worse still when apparently there was a hostage situation at the station...
Whether he wanted to or not, though, he felt like he had some amount of responsibility with helping out here. The three Digimon he had come to call friends had some arguably similar reasons for wanting to get involved, too. Namely...
"Never again." Scarab muttered. Something to which both Gyo and Caine found themselves nodding to. "Yes. If she's involved, then we must ensure that nobody else is put in danger because of her machinations."
"...Couldn't have said it better."
Ordinarily, Hisato would not have wanted to aid since he was quite aware of his inexperience as a tamer, but...He knew for a fact that all three of the ones with him could access the Perfect level. That's why he decided to make the drive over as close as he could. They hopped out, and made their way into the tunnels. There wasn't really much to describe outside of the Digimon deactivating their holosuits once they were close to the meeting point.
So, as Hisato approached with no less than three Digimon in tow that might seem familiar in coloration to a few figures from Golden Week...
"Agent Maria, right? Aizawa Hisato's my name. I...uh. Just got here, what's the status on the situation?" Basically a request for a sitrep, as well as an introduction to the only other tamer there at the moment. The three Digimon meanwhile offered a wave. "So that puts us at...four. Nice to meetcha." Gyo nodded, sagely.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Mar 7, 2021 8:08:00 GMT
Well, talk about an unwelcome surprise. What should've been a slow, easy-going day where they'd just chill and relax would quickly find itself derailed by a sudden message from DATS itself, informing them of a hostage situation within the Shibuya Train Station. As members of KIZNA, it was only right that the two would go in to help try and de-escalate the situation. After quickly reassuring his dad that the two would do the dishes as soon as they got home, Kenny would open up a Digiport, right into the tunnels of the Shibuya Station...
For better or for worse, the eerie quiet of the tunnels provided a welcome relief for the two. But that just left Kenny alone with his thoughts for a brief moment; when he was at the Golden Week rally, his lack of inexperience threatened to make him lose himself in sheer panic, and only by following the examples left by his fellow KIZNA teammates would the two make it out unscathed.
Now potentially having to go at it solo, both he and Skadi could already feel the pressure weighing down upon them. As far as they knew, the budding human/Digimon relationships formed between both parties were on the line here, and neither could exactly afford to screw it up. No matter. Plenty of other humans and Digimon must have gotten the alarming memo as well as them. No way that they'd just sit it out for shits and giggles, not when there were literal lives on the line.
Thankfully, as they reached the entry level of the station, they'd be greeted by the sight of not only an unfamiliar agent and her band of cronies, including the Sistermon pair standing guard, and Adrian and Shoutmon, but also an all too familiar looking Wormmon, this time accompanied by a cherry-red Veemon, and a scraggy looking Impmon-X.
It was just enough for Skadi to turn her head towards Scarab and crack a small smile towards him. She knew she was already in good hands.
All the while, Kenny would take a moment to breathe before firmly looking the agent in the eye, "Hello, my name's Kenneth O'Hara, and that sheep Digimon is my partner, Skadi. Sorry if we're late, but we came here as soon as we could." Another moment to breathe in and out, before he continued, "Can you please tell us what is going on, exactly, and what can we do to help?"
He couldn't let fear control him. Not here and not now. He had to keep his head up, for Yuuki and Hikaru's sake.

Post by Vergil on Mar 11, 2021 18:00:40 GMT
After spending much of his afternoon down at the library on the phone with his school, Vergil was ready to go home and retire for the day. He sat on the top of the backrest of a bench outside of the library with ear-buds in his ears, listening to music, tapping his fingers to the beat of the rhythm. For the first time in a long time, he was in a rather positive mood despite missing the bus to Northern Shibuya. The reason: he just changed his major from environmental science to art.
Yes, it was a long time coming. Ever since he started college back home in the states, his mother, Rio, always picked his classes for him. He barely had any say in the manner, since it was either obey her, or get kicked out. Now that the current semester ended, the first thing Vergil did after receiving his last grade was to get in contact with the school, revoke her mother’s access to his student account, allowing him to freely choose whatever class he wanted, and to request for a change in major.
Nine times out of ten, she’s absolutely livid right now. Good.
Then, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He ignored it, thinking it was a notification from social media...then it vibrated again. He fished his phone out of his pocket. “A mass message from Tamernet?” he muttered. Clicking on the message, he was met with something alarming: there was a hostage situation at the Shibuya Terminal, with Digimon being behind it, and the message was sent from none other than DATS themselves.
"Well, crap..." Being a member of AEGIS, it was his duty to try and de-escalate the situation before things took a turn for the worst. He had to get there as soon as possible. Using his D-Watch, he opened up a Digiport on the ground, and when no one was looking, he leaped in, with the destination locked at Shibuya Terminal.
Landing on the tile floor, the first thing Vergil noticed was that the entrance was blocked off by the police with yellow tape. One of the officers that was stationed in front of the entrance shined a light down to where the young man was at. Thinking fast, he hid behind a nearby vending machine, avoiding getting detected.
“Whew, that was a close one.” Vee said from Vergil’s D-Watch “For a second there, I thought you were gonna get caught with your pants down.”
“Yeah, well, that’s what happens when you play too much Assassin’s Creed.” Vergil replied. “You start to imitate the things you play.”
Vergil continued, making his way downstairs to the terminal’s entry level. There, he was spotted a few familiar faces: Hisato and his Digimon Scarab and his friend Caine--with them was a red V-mon that he was unfamiliar with; a tamer and a red dragon digimon, and lastly, the DATS agent Maria and her Sistermon twins, the trio which Vergil was familiar with from DATS, and to be honest, the only person in DATS whom he had no animosity towards.
In addition to the other tamer and the red V-mon, the only new faces he saw was another guy that looked to be around his age, his partner being what looked like a sheep Digimon.
Knowing that they were in the clear, Vee and Gummy hopped out of the D-Watch. The trio approached the group. “Agent Maria, wasn't it?” Vergil called out. “You’re a sight for sore eyes. Word on Tamernet says y'all are in a sticky situation. Figures...since it seems y'all are understaffed at the moment. But, I digress. Care to fill us in on what exactly is going on?”

"Levi, I know how you feel, but we have to move on."
"No! I have to do this, or else everything will be for nothing!"
"It's not worth it, we have a family waiting for us! You don't have to make a mountain out of a molehill!"
"That's just the thing, Alan... this shouldn't be a hard thing to do... but... I can't..."
"It's okay. There are still thirteen holes after this. Let's let the nice people take their turn."
"Ugh... Fine!"
The Veemon slammed his knee into his golf club, hurting his knee greatly in the process.
"Woah-ho-ho! It's okay, buckaroo, you'll git 'er next time!" a cheerful little four-legged demon bounded in to intervene with words. "And be careful with those there golfin' sticks! We gots ta make 'em outta chrome digizoid to handle our less-temperate customers! Wouldn't want you kids ta hurt yourself!"
"We appreciate it, Mini-Gulfmon. He's been having a bad day. Haven't you, Levi?"
"Grumble, grumble, hate it when they put the hole on top of a little anthill like that, grumble, grumble, make my life hell..." He was saying "grumble" out loud.
"Oh no..." said Alan, prompting his be-hatted partner to cease his grumbling and turn around. The human was checking his D-Terminal out of habit, and saw something that seemed to make him upset. "Sorry, buddy, but we gotta leave. Something just came up."
"Oh, boys, but before ya go!" chirped Mini-Gulfmon, "Take these vouchers for free games! Y'all can hand me your golf balls and clubs, and I'll put 'em away for ya! Sorry we couldn't make your day putt-tastic!"
"Thanks a ton, we'll be back again soon!" Alan waved goodbye to the mascot-slash-manager, who promptly shoved both golf balls and clubs into the infinite black abyss of his lower mouth, a deep "oooooooohm" emanating throughout the course. The young Lopmon who had been watching and waiting to play with his parents and older siblings promptly burst into tears, inconsolable.
"So what's the news, where we goin'?" asked the Veemon, forgetting his sore pride for a moment.
"Digimon have taken human hostages on the Shibuya subway system."
"Shit! And how do you know this?"
"DATS bulletin."
"...Shit! So that's why this is our problem."
"Damn right. Gotta be there in case a pink-haired barmaid drugs the hero and starts shit-talking dragons."
"Or something."
"Exactly."
Upon arriving at the scene, the duo did a quick scan of who they recognized. Two of the parties here with certainly, and possibly three. But before they could socialize, they had to clock in. The two boys threw a superficial salute to the most DATS-looking person in this place, though they were sure they had seen this one before.
"Alan and Levi Pantell, reporting for 'duty'. What's the situation like now?"

If she recalled it right, Machine said that he's having hard time with getting potential helpers, but Maria was glad that before she entered she was stopped by several people that might be very helpful in this situation. The DATS agent can't quite hide her relief when she saw them.
"I could say the same with you Mr. Tibbs," Maria admitted. "And thank you for the rest for coming to our aid quickly like this, especially suddenly at it too. There are some new faces here, and there are some less new faces... Alright, let's get down to the quick introduction. DATS Agent, codename Maria. We greatly appreciate your fast response to our call..."
...She had no idea what to feel about Scarab and Gyo being here though... "...Just to be sure, you two aren't related to whatever is inside?" she asked Gyo and Scarab. "Because I heard there are... an "old friend" on Agent Tiger's side. Either way... Please look at this."
Agent Maria pointed at the rerouted camera recording. "This is what happened. We have about a dozen hostages there... From the look of it they spared any child and women, so what's left are... unfortunate salarymen and some workers who came home late... and some college students...
So currently, we have a situation where....we have tons of adult stages, most are humanoid warrior Digimons. Musyamon, Minotaurmon, Dinohumon, and Buraimon. We... don't think that this is the last of their forces though... But well..."
She looked at the group leader. "That one, he have been silent since he appeared. He... simply standing there in front of the hostage, with his spear. Normally, we can make a wild guess of what a perpetrator want from a hostage situation if they give us certain telltale sign, you see... For example, pacing would means that they're impatient. If they're engaging with their hostages it could mean that they're sure they'll get what they want... but so far... Nothing. Not even a demand, not even an inch of emotion...
It's frustrating."
Maria bit her lips in annoyance. "...Anyway, now that you're here I'd like to make sure this time around we're moving in unison. DATS' biggest priority is obviously the hostages. If possible I too would like to make this end peacefully, but... From what we can guess with the appearance of these Digimons... they're far more cohesive than what appeared the last time. It feels like they too share the same sentiment as the leader... Which probably will make this situation dire.
We should haste, but at the same time... if any of you have any sort of plan, I'd like to hear it."

Not long after Adrian and Shoutmon arrived, more humans and Digimon showed up to offer their support as well. The first to arrive after them was a human named Aizawa Hisato and three Digimon that accompanied him.The Digimons' colors were off though, similar to the ones that the duo briefly saw on TV during Golden Week... if they weren't sure at first, Agent Maria definitely made it easy to figure out just who they were. Could they be trusted?
The others made their way soon after. A recognizable face, Kenny and her partner Skadi; an AEGIS agent who Maria had called "Tibbs," with his twin partners Veemon and Gumdramon (They seem familiar, but I can't put my finger on where I've seen them before, Adrian thought,) and another tamer with a Veemon partner as well, Alan and Levi Pantell. Everyone here was clearly experienced in some manner here, exactly what a situation like this needed.
Once everyone was together, Maria pointed at the camera recording. A dozen hostages, ranging from college students to unfortunate salarymen and late workers. She mentioned how they seemed to spare the children and women. And surrounding those hostages were a bunch of adult level Digimon, including ones along the line of DinoHumon and Buraimon (both Digimon that Adrian and Shoutmon did not have good experiences with.) Anyone looking at them would notice their faces getting angrier at the mention of those names.
But then Maria pointed at the group's leader, a tall knight-like Digimon with a spear. So far he had just been... standing there, being silent. And while she admitted that they can usually tell what the perpetrators in a hostage situation want from certain signs, but these Digimon haven't demanded anything or shown any sense of emotion. "Must take one hell of a poker face if they're intentionally trying to make their motives unclear," Shoutmon commented.
"Is it possible that they know how you operate?" Adrian asked.
Maria continued. She wants to get the hostages to safety and end this peacefully of course, but it was easier said than done with Digimon like this. She asked if any of them had some sort of plan. "Hm... this sort of reminds me of when those pirates attacked us and our friends a little while ago back in the Digital World. Only this time the hostages don't have any way of defending themselves. We need to get them all out of the area in case any negotiation goes wrong."
"Which in our experience usually does," Shoutmon adds. "Murphy's Law is not kind to us at all."

As numerous as the numbers may had been in that initial entrance, Hisato still couldn't help but feel as though just two tamers and their posse of Digimon were not enough for this sort of job. The twins and Caine seemed a little on edge, too. Uncharacteristically so. The arrival of Kenny and Vergil was a boon towards the side of comfort. Hisato did not know the other person with a Veemon who had just arrived, though he threw a wave his way. "Hey, nice to meet you, Alan."
So. A lot of people he was familiar with. "Good to see you guys, honestly puts me a little at ease that I've got some friends here." Hisato stated, an honest smile on his face. "However, them obfuscating intent is...well, that's not what hostage takers do, usually, right?"
"No, they make their demands known." Gyo states. "So, my money's going to go on it being some sort of trap. And them knowing how DATS works. You guys have been active for more than a little bit by now." The crimson Veemon in this sea of Veemon stated.
"Safety should be prioritized in whatever we employ here." Caine suddenly piped up. "So, if we're to extract the hostages...we need stealth. Subterfuge. What do we hold here that allows that, if I may be so bold as to inquire?"
Scarab had no words here. He was a fighter, primarily, but he was sure he'd have something to contribute in due time.

Post by Kenny O'Hara and Skadi on Apr 7, 2021 7:46:54 GMT
So far, things had been looking quite swimmingly on their end; the arrival of a friendly yet unfamiliar face with another Veemon (and Gumdramon not too dissimilar to Bezil to boot), and fellow KIZNA alumni Alan and Levi. Already, pretty much everyone had already gotten off onto the right foot here. But by the time Maria would point out the camera, Skadi was already looking at it thoroughly, and everything that entailed, as the DATS agent went on; the specific nature of the hostages, the line-up, and the odd behaviour of the Digimon there, especially the ink-black Knightmon variant...
Needless to say, Kenny would find himself biting his lip a little as he looked at the footage as well. Why weren't they even budging an inch? Why would a group of presumably anti-human Digimon spare the women and children in the first place? What the hell was even going on in the first place? Why weren't they holding the hostages at gunpoint, much less lay a finger on them?
Who could blame Maria, honestly?
As the tamer bit his lip in concern as he figured out what to say (heavy breathing could easily be heard coming from him), Skadi's eyes quietly darted over to the red Veemon and the Impmon-X as they discussed just what to do here to save the hostages.
And the moment the Impmon said 'stealth', Skadi's ear would give a subtle twitch.
Not even a moment later, Maria would feel the fun-size lamb gently tugging at her pant legs in a hasty bid to grab her attention, "I have an idea, ma'am!" Had Maria looked down, she'd see the Valaismon still holding onto her pant leg as she looked up at her, "I have an Armour Perfect form that can let me phase through walls easily, plus an artefact that can make me turn invisible for a good long time, and a Digi-Port that can send these people to Ys for the time being until we can send them home safely. We have a magic barrier that can send the bad guys out the second they cause a fuss."
Naturally, Kenny had to pipe up here, "But Skadi, how are we going to distract these guys? I'm sure they'd notice if all their hostages just suddenly 'vanished' into thin air. How are we going to harmlessly distract them for the time being?"
"..." That was a good question. Who'd be brave enough to buy them enough time while the hostages were being sent to safety?

Post by Vergil on Apr 15, 2021 3:29:12 GMT
Not long after the three arrived, they were soon greeted by Alan and Levi. Now those two were a sight for sore eyes. They haven’t seen those two in a minute. Vee;s eyes beamed in attention, happily waving at the ivy cap wearing Veemon. As much as he liked to get acquainted with him, there were still some pressing matters at hand, so the time for socializing will have to come until after this situation’s been dealt with. But still, it was nice knowing the three weren’t alone in this and more Tamers had answered the call.
“It’s Hoskins now, Vergil Hoskins.” Vergil corrected Maria. That’s right...he had changed his name sometime ago, so others who had known him when he went by Justice Tibbs weren’t caught up to speed. Not his fault really. In a city as big as Shibuya, it was fairly easy to lose contact with people, especially adding the time dilation of the Digital World into the mix.
Now that everyone was accounted for, Agent Maria pointed their attention to the recording on the monitor. There were about a dozen hostages, all of them ranging from college students to workers. There were a bunch of Digimon goons kept watch, making sure none of them dared to escape, but what really caught Vergil’s attention was the knight Digimon who was apparently the ring leader.
“Hmph. Stiff as a tree,” Gummy commented, crossing his arms. “Though I’d hate to admit it, as pompous as he looks, I can tell that he means business.”
Vee nodded his head in agreement with the crimson V-mon. “Yeah, it’s so obvious that I can smell it from here. So if we’re going to save all the humans, we have to do it under their noise. Then once that’s done, we can pound them into next week,” he finished, slapping the palm of his hand over his other fist.
“But still though, even if this is a trap, they obviously want something.” Vergil added. “They’re just not stating it. Or more specifically, they’re not stating it to DATS…”
He listened as the sheep-like Digimon revealed that she had a digivolution that would allow her to phase through objects, with the addition of having two equipment that could make her invisible and a Digi-Port. “Huh, you’re Digimon is very resourceful.” He said to her Australian tamer with a smirk. “I like that.”
But he also brought up a good point: how were they going to distract them as that was going on? Vergil crossed his arms, musing, until an idea went off in his head. “I got an idea, but it’s a potentially risky one.”
Vee and Gummy looked up to Vergil curiously. “Well? Lay it on us, Specs.”
“Well one party could approach them and try to peacefully negotiate with them while the other party secretly extracts the hostages under their noses, but that means going into the hornet’s nest. One wrong misstep and there will be casualties on both sides. So if we go about this, we’ll have to play this very carefully, ya feel me?”
The twins nodded their heads in agreement. Vergil then turned towards Agent Maria. “It’s your call, so what do you think?”

"Umm..." Alan raised his hand when Maria was finished talking, a habit left over from human school. It's not as if he had any other way of knowing if he could talk. "There is one thing we can learn from that description. It's just speculation, and it's not much on it's own, but... you said they spared the women and children. Do you think they consider themselves chivalrous? Like, maybe they think what they're doing HAS to be done, and if they tell us their demands beforehand they're worried we might come up with some way to sway them from their course. Wishful thinking, I know, and meaningless until we actually figure out what they want..."
Then, the boy felt a tug on his pant leg, and looked down to see Levi's big eyes staring back. "Mm!" He seemed to want to point something out to his Tamer. Alan looked in that direction to see that the one who was now speaking was a crimson-scaled Veemon. "Oh, I see." He pat Levi on the head. "We don't really have time right now, Levi. Assuming things go alright, you can mingle all you want after, okay?" That was met with a soft nod. "Mm." For all his showiness around friends, the Veemon was quite shy, and it showed in his tendency to only be able to easily approach other Veemons as opposed to any other strangers with the pretense of "hey, we're the same species." If only it were so easy for humans.
"That plan seems the only reasonably safe one," Alan eventually said out loud. "I think we might have to default to the diplomacy team. Our only real stealth move is a smoke bomb, and that's only for when things go south. Otherwise, it'd MAKE things go south pretty easily."

"Ah, noted, will commit it to memory then, Mr. Hoskins." Maria decided to not comment more on that, probably something sensitiive especially since he changed both his given name and his surname. Probably some sort of familial issue or something. But either way... they have formulated certain plans. The questions are already answered, and honestly... Maria doesn't feel all that happy to explain about the mistakes of her predecessors... nor she enjoy telling people that... helllo, for all it matters... those above are doing stupid things more and more...
"Yes, they know how DATS operates... or at least I believe they do. As for... obscuring intent? That, yes, that part was the most crucial. I'm not sure what message are they're trying to send by not even stating their demand. Some of them have stared at the cameras, and sometimes chuckled at it, which means they know we're watching... but despite so, the leader have not said anything."
Trap definitely sounds...very logical. "...But what do they intent to achieve by that? By it being a trap? It feels like that's a strange way to osbcure that it's a trap. It feels like it'll be far more effective if they just... state their demand and flip it all around to reveal that it have been trap all along." Maria mused.
Chivalrious? "...Dark Knightmon? Chivalrious?" Sistermon Noir asked. "....that would be quite odd, considering that... you know..." she made rather confused gesture back and forth with her index finger. "It's like you're saying... that this guy have fallen, yet at the same time, he's still sticking to his princiiple?"
"...I wouldn't rule out that possibility." Maria would answer. "...But if it's the truth then.... Wouldn't being all stealthy instead... causes even worse outcome if we got sighted?"
At this, Blanc seem to notice something. "...Wait... I just noticed something. That Dark Knightmon... No, more like, his allies."
"What with them?" Maria asked.
She hesitates to answer for a moment but quickly pressed on. "The rest of the Digimons there. Even with hostages, I felt the Digimons are relaxing way too much. They don't have their guard up at all... If it's a hostage situation then wouldn't they be afraid of an assault team attack them to free the hostages?"
"Certainly...." Noir agreed. "But couldn't you argue that they think lowly of us?"
"...I wouldn't say that, considering the number that they bought. If anything, I'd say that they overestimated us." . "So you're saying... that there's something more than meet the eye, but you don't know what is it?"
The two nodded grimly. Maria.... stopped. She doesn't like to deal with this 'hunch' as people would call it, as it tends to be subjective and illogical. But this one have backing of some logical conjectures. Personally, she's inclined to agree with her partners, but... at the same time, these people make good plan. What to do?
"........The plan is indeed logical... and personally... I'm not sure what to do here. I think we only have a little bit more until we have to move, otherwise it would be too late. What do you think? Should we proceed with stealth, or should we just... go there, and try to talk?"

Wow, it took Adrian a second to truly realize just how many Veemon were present right now. That Hisato guy had a red one with him, and Vergil and Alan each had a Veemon as at least one of their partners. If the situation weren't so dire then he or Shoutmon might've brought it up or made light of the situation. Alas, they all had more important matters at hand at the moment.
Now the discussion starts: why weren't these guys making their demands? Hostage takers definitely made their demands right away, as Gyo had put it, so he bet on it being some sort of trap. "A trap does seem very likely, I agree with that," Adrian said. "If we're going to rescue the hostages then stealth is going to be required. Shoutmon and I have a trick up our sleeves that could help with just that."
It seemed that Skadi was on a similar page, mentioning how her Armor Ultimate form could turn invisible and she could use the Digiport to send the hostages to Ys for a short time. Kenny brought up another good point though, how would they distract DarkKnightmon and his crew while that was going on? Well that was where Vergil came into play, suggesting one party to negotiate while another sneaks in and gets the hostages out of there. He was very serious about the being careful part. Adrian raised an eyebrow as he looked at Vergil. "I like that plan. I vote we do that; we'll get the hostages out of the way in case negotiations don't work out, so if fighting does happen then there'll be no casualties."
"Plus it'll distract those guys long enough to hopefully not notice us," Shoutmon added. "I vote Vergil's plan as well."
But then that's when Sistermon Blanc noticed how DarkKnightmon's allies looked... too relaxed. "Wait, really? Are you sure you're seeing it right, Blanc?"
"No, I think she's onto something," Adrian said as he looked closer at the group. "Look at them. They look like they're just simply waiting for the train on the way to work or school. That's not the composure that a hostage taker would have... something's up."
"But we're running out of time. I say we need to do Vergil's plan, we don't have time to stand here and debate about what could be going on inside their heads. If only we had some kinda mind reader with us, that would make this mess a hell of a lot easier."
Adrian sighed. "Maria, Vergil's idea might be our best course of action. Best of both worlds, after all. We need to split into two groups, one to talk to DarkKnightmon and his crew, and the other to use whatever stealth tactics they have to get the hostages to safety. Shoutmon and I volunteer to join the stealth group."

Everybody had stated some plausible things, and Scarab could genuinely appreciate that. There were individuals who held good heads on their shoulders, and that much was certain. But Noir, Blanc, and Maria had seemingly finally prompted him to speak in full.
"I don't think they'd...even have anything to achieve from the obfuscation of their intent. It makes very little sense. Plus, there is one thing I'd want to point out as a word of caution. DarkKnightmon are, as a species, first class warriors, and an even higher class of tactician. Subterfuge, as my numbskull of a companion suggested, may end up leading to worse. The chivalrous ones are the regular Knightmon--and their higherups, LordKnightmon. So, if I had to give my own addition as to what Levi suggested...I would call it a strange sense of honor. There is none in simply killing the hostages where they stand."
That entire paragraph was just Scarab. Goddamn, he just fired all of that off. Like. Damn. "So, it leaves us on a crossroads." He hated the fact he had to say that. It was like two bad avenues opening themselves up. "...Damned if we do, damned if we don't." Gyo murmured. "As much as I'd like to guarantee the safety of the hostages, we may have a better chance at that if we split up. Given Scarab and I's background as the sons of a knight, we can probably appeal to DarkKnightmon in some way...So, if Sato's cool with it, we can volunteer for negotiations."
"I'm cool. Caine, what about you?" "...I don't really see an issue, no." The Impmon X stated in response. "It's really up to you all. I'm not as...important in the grand scheme of things as all of you are. Wherever my allies go, I shall follow and aid to the best of my ability, per the debt I owe to that Gigimon."
Hisato glanced around. "So, we're pretty clearly for the fifty-fifty route...For anyone that needs any stealth cards, I've got two Shadowforms. I doubt lending them is actually required, but it's worth making that known just in case."
Time was indeed growing short, and that was pretty much all he wanted to say...So, it was on the rest of the group to say any final pieces.
