Black Wolf's Awakening [Sten]

That day was a day like many other. A Black Wanyamon bounces around with a mailman hat on his head, and a mailman bag pulled by his mouth. He's getting a lot more used to life in Rosewood. He saw how it changed from a small village to a town, then to a city. Things changed, but he doesn't. If anything it sort of makes it easier for him to travel around though. He can hitch public transport for free, rather than having bounce from an end to another.
That Wanyamon's name is Steyr. He's the tenth royal child of Ys. The line of succession is long, but it's not as if the royal children really interested in the throne at any rate. Steyr meanwhile? His kind of glory is different. He once idolized heroes. Yes, he once told his Gaomon father that he'd like to become part of soldier that protects the city he was born to. He imagined how dashing he would be with uniform.
Yeah, just like those fresh graduates from the Digimon school, who rode the same tram as he does.
Steyr smiled, half melancholically, half in nostalgia. He was so bright eyed back then. Now? He's pretty much... settled with reality. He will probably never going to evolve. This is his destiny. The prince is no longer. A prince who only could smear dishonor upon his royal family should not be prince at any cost. He have removed himself for that reason exactly.
"Whoops, nearly missed my stop"
Steyr hopped out of the public transport and continues delivering letters.
"Excuse me! A mail for you!"
It's busy this time of the year. Rosewood Vocational School sends letter both of acceptance and congratulations... but at the same time... there are also less than pleasant letters--- letters which ask to parents or guardians about their children. These childrens are usually dropouts that doesn't like what being taught, or feel they're too advanced for the courses.
...It's a pity. He's pretty sure that everyone is talented... but at the same time he can't really say anything about dropouts who drops out becaus eit's too hard or they doesn't have interest.Things like school and such...while cutting ties cleanly by doing it through formal routes would be preferrable, he's also not the one who can says anything about it because he, too, have avoided the issues by running away from home. He only wrote letter to his family and left. It have been seven years then...
But even so, he guess... it'll be nice if by these letters, droputs could tell the school what was their pro---
Before his train of thought finished, Steyr felt something tugged the string of his bag. He was too shocked to react, before suddenly he got tossed to a dark alleyway, crashing into several trash cans, creating a loud clanging sounds.
"Gack..." he could tolerate pain, but it doesn't help the bad sensation when air was forced out of his body. When he tried to straighten himself, he saw sneering figure of a Goblimon, a Falcomon and a Gazimon... This... smells trouble...

Sten had been rather excited to come to Rosewood this week. Not only would he spend time with his only beloved son Owen, but also watch his grandsons Matty and Jimmy go about their end-of-year examinations for Combat and Survival. He was eager to see exactly what this examination entailed, given that Owen put dozens of Child level digimon through this at a time. Furthermore, his other young grandson, Lewis the Tsunomon was accompanying him. On his head, because it was a convenient place for him to rest. "Hee, it's so fun seeing the world from this height, grandpa!" he exclaimed. "Heheh, just as long as you're comfortable, Lew~" Sten replied. Still though, the exams did not take place yet, and Owen was still conducting his classes, so Sten instead decided to make his way around Rosewood, admiring the new Capital of the Eastern Timberlands. Indeed, it was a very young city, he could still smell the fresh wood and paint of the dwellings that made it up, but he was very impressed with how they had incorporated the city into the forest rather than replaced it. The canopy high above still provided shelter from direct sunlight, giving the place a nice, cool, sheltered feeling. Lewis was in awe of the place too. Even though he was raised in Ys, he knew that this was the place where most freshly evolved digimon from the Village of Beginnings would proceed to. Had he not been identified as the son of Owen and Hikaru, he would have ended up here anyway. And it seemed like a nice place to be. Sten also noticed that most of the digimon here were quite young, most of them Child levels, with a few Adult levels, but as a Perfect level, he somewhat stood out. Thankfully his son had done enough good work around town so that the city guards that at first eyed him with suspicion noticed the golden sword-and-wheel emblem of the 7/71st on his leather shoulderpad and then treated him in a friendly way. Other than that, Sten didn’t expect too much trouble here. He had stored his spiked knuckles in his pocket, and over his chest he wore a black t-shirt with a crescent moon on the chest, other than that, he wore his usual leather shoulderpad and blue jeans. Ordinarily he would have removed the skull and crossbones on the leg, but several of his grandchildren (including Lewis) thought it was too awesome to remove, so he kept it there for their sake. For the moment, Sten was walking along Rosewood’s marketplace, appraising what they had on offer. The feeling was so peaceful here, it reminded him of the best days of the old DWR, back when everything seemed like it would be a good, equal, long-lasting society. Sten only hoped that it could continue. But with his son here in a prominent role, he was sure that it wouldn’t fall the way the DWR did. As he was examining a finely crafted wooden ornament in the market, holding it up for Lewis to see, his ears twitched immediately as he heard a crashing sound nearby. He put down the ornament gently. “I’m sorry, this is very nice, but I need to go check that noise out.” he told the artisan. “Well… you know where I am I guess…” the Shamamon replied, a little disappointed. Sten proceeded to the alleyway where he heard the crashing. And the sight disgusted him. Three Child level digimon – a Falcomon, Goblimon and Gazimon, were facing a single Wanyamon. Not just any, one with black instead of blue fur. One that looked… very familiar. Still though, Sten would not tolerate such a situation. He approached behind the three Child level digimon. If they turned around they would see a hulking great beast, his amber eyes glowing with righteous malice. “It’s not nice to bully digimon that are a lower level than you, you know.” he said. “Make a move to escape or hurt that Wanyamon, and I’ll demonstrate to you what it’s like for the digimon on the lower level to feel.”Lewis was shocked at such a situation too. He thought that most digimon left others at a lower level than them alone. To see such a horrid display was very confronting for him. Hoping that caught their attention, Sten then glared at the three bully digimon. “Now then. What exactly is going on here?” he looked up at the Wanyamon. “Please, you speak first.”

Steyr coughed. It was just a little bit before Sten appeared.
"Why... why are you doing this?"
"Why you ask? Isn't it clear? You're bringer of bad news. Those letter... are rejection letters aren't they? You thik we'd want you to go and snitch that we failed our classes to our parents?"
"T-that was... inevitable isn't it? Sooner or later they'd know anyway--"
Another kick. Steyr coughed. He didn't feel pain, but it feels a bit harder to breathe. Ouch... did he got bruised somewhere?
"That's what you said, but I bet you're looking at us in glee don't you? You think we don't know? Everytime we passed you, you always tossed a smile at us, almost like telling us you're looking down at us. So what that we lagged behind? You think you're much better than any of us?"
"...I.. I never..." if anything, he actually just trying to encourage them... why... why would they misunderstood him that much? It hurts... it hurts him emotionally more than physically.
"Heh, look at that. What, gonna cry to your parents? Wanna sob to your daddy? I bet they're just trashy parents anyway... tossing their kid out like this...."
That... that made Steyr snaps out from his momentary daze. "...My fathers... aren't..."
"Aren't what? They won't help you anyway. If they could help you, they're already here. They just don't care about you don't they? And what's with you anyway? You're looking down on us while you have been around for years now, still in that form? Man, you're a failure aren't you!? Just like your fathers!"
It's at this time that Sten appeared. The child stages paled at the appearance of the Were Garurumon while Steyr... looked at the visage of his grandfather... Worse, he saw a Tsunomon on top of Sten's shoulders... Heh... he have to look this lame in front of a family member?
I'm so pathetic that I tried to distance myself away from my family... and they still ended up shamed because of me? Because a simple misunderstanding? I'm getting tired of this... I'm really tired. Pops... Daddo... Grandpa.... Everyone... I'm sick of dragging your names down with me... You guys, I admire you... and that's why... if anyone shittalk about them....
Steyr steadied himself up. Sten told him to speak first, but what came from his mouth was...
"...ke it back."
"Eh?"
"Take it back," this time, firmer. Steyr glared at the three bullies.
"W-what with this gu--"
"MY FATHERS, MY FAMILY, AREN'T FAILURES!! TAKE IT BACK!!" rising from the black Wanyamon is a surge of viral data, forming a dark violet with red touch swirl of energy. The Black Wanyamon's eyes glows red as his teeth grew sharper. His furs peeled, showing wireframe underneath. As the swirl getting more and more violent, the visage of the Wanyamon quickly expanded rapidly. Arms starting to form, legs strengthened, and torso finally formed before a head rendered. What appeared from the vortex is a black Gaomon with Digital Hazard symbol on his headband, wearing a hard leather gloves and camo tunic.
Wordlessly, the new child stage suddenly shortened the gap and slammed the Gazimon on the stomach with a gutpunch. Not prepared taking a sudden strike, the Gazimon coughed before falling to the ground unconscious. Not done there, Steyr now hits the Falcomon with a left hook, disorienting them, and then followed up with an uppercut. He then glared at the Goblimon.
"HI-HIIIIIIIIIIIIH!! I'M SORRY, I'M SO SORRY!" the Goblimon kowtowed in front of Steyr, to which he just replied by spitting blood that collected inside his mouth from all their beating to the inner side of the alley. "...SCRAM!"
There's no need for more words. The Goblimon quickly grabbed the two unconscious Digimon and ran away, leaving only the two siblings and their grandfather. Steyr... is still silent for the meantime. Adrenaline seems to be still running high in his system, apparent from his rough breathing and ready to fight stance.

Sten and Lewis gasped with astonishment at the next event in the alleyway. The Wanyamon seemed to know them, and Sten remembered who he was. He remembered there being a black furred Wanyamon bouncing around Ys a while ago. This was Steyr, one of Owen and Hikaru's children. Sten felt the guilt rise within him, how he had tried his best to help Steyr evolve to his Child level while jammed in his Baby II level, and nothing seemed to work. And of course with more grandchildren to take care of in Ys, he had less time to spend with him. It had hurt deeply that Steyr had decided to move on from Ys if his current training regime did not work. As Steyr evolved and took the form of a Gaomon, Sten recognized that yes, he was. This was another of Owen’s sons. Sten’s grandson. This was the moment he needed to evolve. And thus Sten would grant the moment to him for this. “Brother…” Lewis murmured, recognizing him too. In this moment, Sten decided to let Steyr carry out the purpose of his first evolution to Child level. And to his shock, and, deep down, satisfaction, he watched as Steyr took out all three digimon that were bullying him. In fact he didn’t move a muscle as they fled from him. Instead, Sten moved toward Steyr, lowering down to one knee. “...Steyr, I'm so sorry I couldn't help you achieve this moment before now." Sten said. "But I'm so proud of you for making it happen on your terms."Lewis at this point bounced off his grandfather’s head and watched the two of them from the side, interested to see how this played out. And it played out as Steyr fighting off the monstrous bullies that were tormenting him. Both Sten and Lewis were proud of what they saw. In both the WereGarurumon and Tsunomon's upbringing, bullies deserved no quarter, and Steyr gave none. And when it was all over, both felt really satisfied and glad. Sten didn’t say anything else, offering his grandson a hug, both in triumph of his achievement, and an unconditional acceptance as part of his family.

Admittedly, Steyr is still high strung. He's still growling like a beast, letting out a warning growl... but those who are canines would have easily know that this isn't a behavior of a canine who have found his target, nope. It's merely a reaction that seems stemming from a high strung situation.
When his grandfather hugged him, Steyr's eyes widened. His instinct finally mellowed out and calmed down, slowly, slowly... until suddenly he felt weak on his knees and fell on his behind. Steyr's breathing slowly getting back to normal as he once again feels safe. No one will attack him, no one will slight his family... he's currently safe. As his body registered that, he finally lets his guard drops completely.
He moved his toes, still in daze, then his hands, clench, unclench, clench, unclench... Tears started welling out from his eyes. He... he have evolved... Fourteen years. Fourteen years as a baby, he finally evolved. He longed to be a hero, to be someone respected, someone who would elicit feeling of awe from the crowd, just like his Gaomon father's past self... Yes, he had those memories, and thought how nice it would be if it was him. He slowly turned his head to face Sten.
"...G-grandpa...." came his voice, slightly deeper than before, like a teen. "...I... I'm not dreaming, am I?"
He finally evolved. The tears finally rolled down his cheeks. Steyr covered his face, sobbing as he felt a burden of fourteen years finally lifted somewhat. He can't believe it... he have waited so long for this. He know that Lewis is here, but even then... he felt him crying was quite justified already. Fourteen years... he have been waiting so, so, so long...
After what felt like an eternity, Steyr wiped away his tears and snot.
"...Hey Lew," he greeted his little brother. "...I have heard you from Perry in her letter. Sorry... that the first sight of your big brother have to be... something completely undignified." Steyr smirked in self mockery, but even then it wasn't completely in mockery either. It seems he... slowly coming into term with his new change.
"...Name's Steyr. I'm the 10th, and you're... uuuh... the 13th if I recall it right... Hasenya is the 12th so that makes sense... Though apparently more and more new siblings are popping out lately huh? ...Are Pops and Daddo doing fine?"

Sten relaxed to let his grandson realize his new body on his own terms. While he didn’t let go, he lightened his grip so that Steyr fell to the ground in a more comfortable, controlled motion. Lewis watched his elder brother with curiosity, wondering if he would have a moment like this, but said nothing for the time being. This was Steyr’s time to get used to his new form. “No, mate, this isn’t a dream. The three of us are here, and your brother and I watched you evolve just now.” Sten answered. He leaned back as Steyr hid his face as he cried, resting on his knees, giving his grandson the moment to soak the situation in. He didn’t want to make an interruption for this moment. The danger had passed. Lewis blinked momentarily as Steyr first turned to him. He said he first heard about him from their sister Persephone in a letter. Lewis smiled, blushing. “Perry’s very kind to do that.” he answered. Even though she was a sickly digimon, her kindness shined brightly for everyone in Ys. But he had to object to Steyr’s next sentence. “That wasn’t undignified at all. You handled the situation magnificently, brother. You’re amazing.”Lewis probably could have worded that better, but at that stage of his life, he didn’t have many words to choose from. Steyr then introduced himself formally to Lewis, who grinned back in response. “Yep, I’m the 13th. And… ah…” Lewis struggled to answer the next question, but Sten chose to go the diplomatic route. “Your parents are both alive and healthy, and they love each other very much still.” the WereGarurumon assured him. “Just… let’s say they’re in a period of transition now. The digital world is changing very rapidly, and both are adjusting in their own ways. Your father Owen is reviving the 7/71st Recon to help deal with problems. And as for your other father Hikaru, he’s making sure that the society in Ys can grow as strong as possible.” “Ys is going so well, Steyr, we’d love to have you back.” Lewis blurted out, then realized he might have gone too far, his cheeks turning red momentarily. “...but only when you’re ready, I mean… I’m so sorry you had to go through all those years like that, brother.”Sten patted Lewis’s back, indicating that he should probably not say anything more until Steyr had his say.

"Admittedly, she's the one htat I'm the closest to," Steyr admitted, scratching the back of his head. "Bless her, she kept me updated of what happened back home... though not all of it, because there should be things that... she felt I should look for myself I'm sure."
Lewis denial that it was an undignified look was uplifting to Steyr though. "Heh, alright, if my little brother said that, then I'll wear that with pride."
Hmmm... that made Steyr's expression turned grim somewhat... the fact that the world is changing. What caused it? It sounded like something... serious enough. He dusted his bum and stood up. For a moment he felt a little bit awkward, because he have been in his baby form for way too long. Having legs like this, especially a strong leg that he could move was... something. Lewis seem to want him to go home, but quickly corrected himself that it's only if Steyr is ready. The newly evolved Gaomon smiled and gently pat his little brother.
After a bit he looked at Sten. "...Grandpa... I have a favor... Dad and Pops.... can you tell them that I'm fine? You too, Lew. If you got questioned, just tell them I'm fine. I'm pretty sure those in 7/71st know that I'm here. I stood out too much," he admitted, chuckling. ".......But I'm going to... walk my own path. I have ran away from home, and I will not return before I'm worthy of my title back. If I just came back home after getting to Child stage, what's even the use of my convinction that I need to be strong?"
then Steyr looked straight at Sten's eyes. "........Grandpa, I know how much it hurted you, I heard from Haku about a little bits of Dad's past life... and... I can still feel it here... beating inside my Digicore. But even so... I'm planning to join 7/71st. When the time is right, I'm going to tell Daddo that I'm ready to take his test."

The subject of Perry was often something difficult for Sten. The fact that there was nothing he could do to help his beloved granddaughter recover from her lifelong illness and lead a more happy life was a sore spot for him. But even if there was no cure, he made sure every comfort was provided to her. And he felt rather moved that she was the one that provided a link to Steyr from his self-imposed exile from his family. Lewis was proud of hearing that from his big brother. The Tsunomon was beginning to think of him very admirably, now that they had met like this. Steyr asked them for a favour, to tell them that he was doing fine. Sten knew that would at least make Owen satisfied, but as for his son-in-law, Hikaru, he’d probably need a bit more than that to be reassured. While the WereGarurumon would not force Steyr to return, he could at least insist on a bargain. “I think it would be most fair if you sent your parents those words yourself, Steyr.” he replied. “If you can’t deliver them in person, I think you should at least send letters. I think that would make your parents happy. You can write, after all? If you can’t, I’m happy to write down what you say and send that to them…”“Grandpa, you’re getting a little overbearing…” Lewis muttered, as Sten leaned forward with every sentence. Sten realized this and stood back upright, calming himself. “But seriously, Steyr, please write to your parents?” he finished. Then Steyr said that he heard it from Haku how much it hurt him. And Sten knew exactly what he meant. His mind flashed back to the day that the “glorious” DWR sent him Jaelin’s posthumous medal. How that moment had destroyed his old family. And that Steyr was insistent on taking the same path as Jaelin. Even though his son still lived as Owen, this was a heavy thing to take. Especially given how he remembered how his ex-husband had reacted at both Sten’s insistence in letting Jaelin enlist, and his despair at his death. It was all too complicated to put into words. But eventually, he managed it. “I’ve seen the digital world and its changes, grandson.” he said. “And I agree that we need an elite unit of solo digimon to fight for the greater good to make sure those changes don’t hurt people. But… please, don’t treat this as it was in the DWR. Don’t… don’t you all go sacrifice yourselves for glorious ashes like the old 7/71st did.” tears rolled down his face as he said this. The old 7/71st Recon Battalion had been wiped out to the last soldier in protecting the DWR capital from the traitor Tactimon’s march upon it. And even then, it was all pointless as the capital destroyed itself from the ensuing civil war, like crows fighting over carcasses. Sten wouldn’t be able to bear it if the new 7/71st did the same.

Steyr... heard his grandpa's words. Although yes, it might get a little bit overbearing when Sten was inching to him bits by bits that he's forced to even push his grandfather's nose away gently because... hey, give him some space. Him being called out by Lewis made him chuckle though. "Alright alright, I heard ya, grandpa... man, you can be really pushy when you want to... Lend me your back for a bit, I can write it here and now if you want. And thanks Lew. Keep our grandpa on his best behavior, especially if you're going to be a Gabumon down the line," Steyr snickered. His grandfather's begging that he don't lose his life of course was something that Steyr readily nodded to. "...Grandpa, a hero doesn't have to neccessarily die to be a hero. I'll be a hero and alive. If there will be any equivalent of the time where I got the Fire Cross, then may it be while I'm still alive, to wear it proudly on my chest. I promise you that I will not toss my life that easily." Either way, Steyr would whip out a piece of paper, an envelope, and a pen, ready to write. "...Well, let's see... how to write this, hmmm..." Dear Pops and Daddo... It's been a long time, and I'm sorry that this selfish child of yours still have yet showed his face in front of you. I told you that... I have left home because there are things that happened in my previous letter... I... I think I can guess what's going on in your mind back when you heard it... so... I'd like to clear the situation a bit. As of why I'm leaving.... First and foremost, do not blame yourselves. I know, I know that you two have been trying your best and I really appreciate you two. I don't want you two to fight over or even blame yourself for me leaving... Honestly, even until now, i think it was all my fault. That's why, I don't want you to make this spiral even worse.
Remember that day, Four years ago or so? Pops heard that someone was spreading rumors that I wasn't a legitimate child of two of you? Pops was flying in rage. I had no idea what happened, but after a long while, I noticed, that Pops might have commissioned a manhunt. Now, I wouldn't even dare to think what happened afterward... but... at that point I thought... Pops is trying his hardest to protect me. Me. If there are more rumors popping out from that, our kingdom will destabilize.
Pops, you know, is a very kind father. He might be too coddling, and it might be a little bit annoying that he poured more of his attention to me than others just because I haven't evolved, but I don't hate it... I just... slightly dislikes it I guess? But even then, Pops is really dear to me. That's why I don't want anyone to see Pops as a tyrant. Pops is a great king, and that's why I left.
Daddo, you're great... But I wondered if I have been pushing your button way too much. I wanted to evolve, I... don't want to be left behind like this. So I asked you about your past life, because... maybe... because I got most of my data from the old you, it makes more sense if I follow your old path, I can evolve, and we can stop this bad rumor immediately... but... I guess I have been too insensitve. Those days must have been like hell to you. And in turn I made you avoid me.
....I admit, it's...really painful seeing you treating Bezil like he's the closest to you. There's part of me, who looked at that and was like... wondering what am I? Am I just a chopped liver? Or am I just like your nightmare revived? That I'm born from your old data and then looking at me you're looking at your past self? I looked at Bezil and felt how shining my big brother is, and...and then I noticed just how dark and toxic is this feeling that build up inside of me. I don't want to hate Bezil. Bezil is a great big brother... and I don't want to make him feel like a victim when it's something beyond our control. That's why I left, I don't want to hurt anyone. Not Daddo, not Pops, not Grandpa, not anyone for that matter.
I thought, it's far better if I'm the only one suffering. But I don't intend to suffer all the time. I told myself I can come back anytime, but what's the use of that? What's the use if I just return home with nothing to prove that all this drama is worth it? That all my struggles are nothing but my cowardice running away from home rather than addressing it? That's why I'm staying away from home. Until the time is right. Today, it might have changed.
Daddo, Pops... today I have evolved. I have finally moved on. That's why... that's why... when I'm readly, I'll return to you guys... back home. At that time, I'll apologize, no matter how many times it's needed... Forgive me for being such an idiot, selfish son. But really, all I want is to make you guys proud. I want to make even myself proud of me. I want to be able to pat my own back and says "yeah, you have done it, you're a hero now."
That's all I want. So I'll make it a promise here in this letter. When I reached Adult Stage I'll join 7/71st. Then when I reached Perfect, I'll come home.
At that time, please... let me hug all of you again.
Love Steyr
After he done writing, Steyr noticed that he sort of cried a little bit. He wiped the tears away and folded the letter, then inserted it to the envelope. He gave it to Lewis. "...Be my mailman, would you?" he joked.

With rebukes from both of his grandsons, Sten held back for a bit while the letter was being written, saying nothing as Steyr put the paper on his back and wrote his letter. Sten had reason to be this frantic about his family. While he had only recently been returned to the loop of news around the digital world, to him, it looked dangerously close to becoming as bad as it was in the DWR. And with humans involved, he had no idea what sort of outcome that would make. He just couldn’t bear Steyr being kept in isolation in this time. So he was glad for this first step being made. But he was very glad that Steyr made his promise. The WereGarurumon had heard of and seen too many brave young digimon throw their lives away for the glory of a medal that they would never wear. After about ten minutes, Sten realized that Steyr had a lot to say to his parents, so he merely kept steady as the writing continued. Lewis watched them both with a worried expression, hoping that it wasn’t too much, but, Lewis had seen both Hikaru and Owen react to Steyr’s self-exile. He knew both of them hurt from it. Hopefully this letter would help them more than the heavy silence that had existed so far. When Steyr had finished, Sten looked at the letter, sighing heavily as he read through it. But he didn’t make any critical comments. He had asked his grandson to give his words to his parents, and these were his words, however painful as they were. “Alright, Steyr, I’ll deliver this letter to your parents. I think they’ll want to respond to you though. So if they do, I’ll bring you their letter of response, but I won’t force you to read it, okay?” he asked, gently. Knowing this was probably their parting moment, Lewis looked up at Steyr brightly. “Big brother… if I don’t evolve soon, could you please tutor me in how to do it? I’d love to learn from you. You must’ve learned so much in 14 years that I don’t know.”Sten patted Lewis’s back again, understanding his worries. Well then, if there was nothing else to add, he’d soon be off to first watch the final examination of Owen’s combat and survival class, which included Matty and Jimmy, and then would return North to Ys and then show them Steyr’s letter. But he had to say one last thing. Of all his grandsons and granddaughters, Steyr was the one that reminded him the most of his ex-husband. Not of the fighting that split them apart, but the bonds that brought them together. “Steyr, you’re very much loved in this family. Please don’t ever think otherwise.” would be his parting words.

"I'll read it," Steyr resolutely answered. "I have been selfish, and it's only right for them to have their words heard after four years of not that much words from me beside saying that I have been fine and my life here in Rosewood without mentioning that it's actually Rosewood. For four years they have been considerate of me, not bringing me home by force. But.. yeah, I'd rather not show my face to them just yet... at least until Adult stage. Please... please just let me be selfish until then."
Steyr smiled gently to Lewis. He knlet in front of his little brother and gently pat his side. "...Little brother, I'll give you my wisdom on that... Don't worry if you can't evolve quickly. Just keep doing what you think is right. Don't impose self exile on yourself like I do. Talk to Daddo, talk to Pops. After what happened to me, I'm sure they could handle the situation far better. Don't be hasty, and know that evolution... came from the heart. When you're determined, and your heart resonate with your feeling that "this is the moment"... you will evolve. That's what I have to say to that. Waiting will be painful, yes... but as long as you keep basking yourself in love and care of our family, your friends, and people you hold dear... it won't be long of a wait. Trust me on that, Lew. So for now, keep training, keep eating well, rest well, and be happy. You;ll evolve eventually."
Steyr of course nodded at Sten's words. "Don't worry, Grandpa... I always know that. I might be physically alone. But my heart isn't alone. Up until now... I'm still being supported by our family after all!"
With that, he put back his mailbag and noticed how much lighter it felt now and put on his cap. "...I'll be going. I'm always around these part if you need to visit me or anything like that."

Sten smiled and nodded at Steyr’s wishes. “Okay. I’ll let you have your time here in Rosewood. Heck, if I was in your position, I’d love to spend time getting used to my new form. After all, you just evolved, mate, you should be given at least a few months to get used to being a Gaomon instead of a Wanyamon.” he chuckled. Lewis then listened to his big brother’s words. The Tsunomon could think of nothing to say in response. Honestly, this was the most inspirational speech he had ever heard, and Steyr spoke words that resonated with his core. If the conditions had been right, he would have evolved then and now, but of course there was much for him to get used to in the time being, so that miracle wouldn’t happen today. But, at the very least, he felt that Steyr had put him on the path to strengthening himself. “You really are wonderful, big brother.” was all he could say in response. Then came the time to part. Sten stood back upright, supporting Lewis on his shoulder, as Steyr stood back upright too. Sten gave one last thumbs-up to his grandson. “Now you hold up well, soldier, you’ve got a fine head on those fine shoulders there, the digital world needs good digimon like you around.” he said as his parting words. “You’re awesome, Steyr! Hope I reach child level too next time we see each other!” Lewis called out. And that would be that for the time being. “Best wait until we get back to Ys to show this to Owen and Hikaru, right?” Sten asked Lewis, as they walked toward the proving grounds for the final examinations of Owen’s course. “Yeah, best do that.” Lewis agreed, not wanting to make complications to this major day in Matty and Jimmy’s life. From there, Sten and Lewis would join Owen, and observe his students as they went about their final exams. [Thread exit]
