"ORAAAH!" a shout came from one of the field in Production District, specifically the one with Hawk Radish growing from it. What's wrong now that it makes someone shouting like that? Well... Crabs. Not the usual crabs either. They're hermit crabs of Ys, with crystals for shell... They're pests of Ys, and-- funnily... they also Ys' imported product. Yes, beat this crab, get it dismantled, and you'll get premium crab meat! That's the deal with Ys every single day. Normally, about fifty thousand crabs hunted everyday in all location. Fifty thousand, not more because... gotta keep the ecosystem, and while the crabs are menace, they're also great source of food! They apparently eat mostly mosses, and those who are big enough find that mosses aren't all that nice anymore and instead wanted to try something new.
As for reproduction concerned, these ebings are data lifeform so... technically, all will be well. Probably they could just respawn after some time. Who knows man, Digital World.
But Valt can't disagree that these creatures are really good for food. They're as high quality as lobsters,a nd it's hard to believe that they're actually pest. Those who had no idea probably would be shell shocked. Pun not intended.
"GYAH, A HUGE ONE APPEARED!"
"Calm down, Son! Use your lightning on it first!"
"Aye!"
"Now take this! V-Aura!!"
The one who's shouting his his son, Dunraz. The father and son combo is trying to get as many crab meat as they're allowed to... make a little trade off with some merchants that gonna come to this land. Exchange the crab meat with some other foods they haven't tested, and ask someone to make something new. Then they will present it to... Dunraz's mother and Valt's wife, Cassie. Yep, this is just a familial love. Isn't that great?
Still, it's a bit harder than anticipated because they're actually here alone... not quite a lot of people have come just yet. It's still the first day after all!
"Dad, got one ready!"
"Osu! Toss that huge one to the crate!"
The crate is specially made to contain these crabs. They're wooden, and opens inside rather outside. This is to prevent if the crab is too strong, that they would climb outside and opens it with their shell. A desperate crab could left their shell after all! By the way, the shell itself is also precious, and can be used as accessories when broken down. Unused part also can be further processed into nourishing nutrients for the farm.
"Alright, that's four! Let's keep this until we got 20!"
"Aye!"
