They weren't technically supposed to go out on their own but as far as Talia knew, Sasha and Miss Amelie fully trusted the twins to keep her safe, especially considering they had proven to be able to have the power evolve to at least evolve to their Ultimate forms. Granted that could be a bit of an issue if they ran into anyone in mega form but from what the woman had observed in her short time of consciousness, Digimon rarely walked around openly in powerful forms simply because most couldn't sustain them for that long. In this instance, Tohru and Simba had asked the human if they could do so to stretch their wings a bit. "We need to be prepared for any destruction that comes our way." Of course she (quite literally too) couldn't say no after knowing they had been dormant with her for who knows how long.
Thus she was happy to sit with her book while the lanky rabbit and her dragon brother sparred in the remote parts of the Eastern Timberlands hills. They were far away enough that any local infrastructures were out of harms way of their power. Talia may have been in a half wit state, but even she knew better than to cause trouble for others. However, such racket could certainly attract the attention of someone nearby. Should any humans approach, Talia was sure to try to hide since she did not like or trust them, except for the nice people at Deeplane of course. The other reason was she did not want anyone to make fun of her juvenile books intended for learning conversation syntax. Sure they were stupid, but maybe if she could learn how to say 'Green Eggs and Ham', it was more than an acceptable start.
"Perhaps you've gotten stale, sister!" The fluffy Dorugreymon exclaimed as he reared up a little, charging at the Antylamon head first who was fast to dip out of the way but not before grabbing a leg and flipping him over onto his back with an elbow drop. "And perhaps you should work on your reflexes." Tohru had forgotten though that she'd taught him some of those tricks, so you can imagine the surprise when the dragon spewed an attack at her that she barely dodged. "I'm a klutz most of the time, but not today." He waved a wing from the ground, in which the studs on it were dug into the ground for leverage so he wouldn't go toppling when hit hard. "Humm humm, not bad for a kid I suppose!"
As they continue their match of what was essentially two big Digimon playing rough, Talia couldn't help but watch in admiration of their absolute majesty.
Tohru was a tungsten lotus fan in battle, swift yet sturdy, with the ability to cut you right in two like mom in the kitchen with the meat cleaver breaking down a chicken for dinner part by part. She, like her brother, was very protective of their little family, but unlike him preferred to do things a bit differently. Her method of punishing those who dared to disrupt their happiness was to slowly but surely stalk and hunt them down. She would keep it long and drawn out in order to enforce the fact that she was not, by any means, to be crossed. Perhaps it stemmed from being a goddess of the hunt, or perhaps she just despised those with no empathy who wanted to hurt others to make themselves feel better.
Now Simba, as he was a knight, had a naturally different way of approaching things. He didn't hunt, he simply sought out enemies in order to fill the quota of what he considered justice for their acts of senseless cruelty. While a little less of a masochist than his big sis, there was still nothing stopping him from having the potential to lose his mind if he became angry enough, if something happened that made his human or sister unhappy. It wouldn't be today, but a day would come when he would remember the appearance of his humans face vibrant with a smile. After that he would make it a goal to do anything he could to get Talia to smile again. Even if it was just a little, that would be enough for him.
Their play was interrupted by the sound of clapping. Not in the applauding way but in the way of two hands clasping with the purpose of getting their attention. Making eye contact with them, Talia was kneeled on the ground with her hands out before her, patting the space flat down in front of her after clapping. The lack of dialogue had forced her to learn to communicate in other ways. This particular one was a way to call the twins back to her side. With a quick whoosh, they were back to being a little dragon and rabbit, bounding over to the arms of the human who scooped them up like two delicate dolls.
Now this was something the twins couldn't wait to be lessened as Talia went back to being less...childish. The question is, would that truly ever make a difference.
