Honoka seemed like she was having a very rough time at the appearance of these anti-water loonies. Luckily they had managed to dismount from the bike, but as it stood, the girl didn’t seem operational in the slightest. He gave his companion a worried look. “There, there. Try to calm down.” the brunette gently patted the girl’s back. If she didn’t offer much resistance, she’d gently take her behind the nearest kind of cover in order to observe the situation with more relative safety.
Least to say, the congregation of fiery digimons seemed to have less-than-noble intentions, and the degree of fanaticism they were showing was utmost worrisome. It was almost as if they were some kind of supremacists that pretended to eradicate water altogether! The leader showing off his ‘abilities’ sure was a cause of concern, but what concerned Magnus the most was how Honoka’s condition was quickly deteriorating.
As she decided to partake in a rather dubious session of self-harm, the male decided to hold her body firm; his intent was to restraint, at least until the she came back to her senses. “Honoka, listen to me. Calm down.” Magnus’ tone was gentle, but stern. “I don’t know what’s happening to you, but you need to regain control of yourself.”
They were a bit understaffed right now anyway, weren’t they? With some luck, they had managed to remain unheard through this strange series event, and if that was the case, then Sasha would exit the Xros Loader. She was donning her usual shape as she scanned her surroundings. The Jazamon spoke only after stumbling upon the girl’s digivice. “Honoka-chan’s spirits are no doubt involved with what’s happening somehow. How should we proceed?”
The situation was as dicey as it could be. A wrong choice could cost them dearly. “We can’t do much with Honoka feeling like this. And we don’t have any indication on whether engaging is the correct choice. We can only observe further developments for the time being and hope things calm down a bit.”
“Understood.” It was pretty frustrating, but there wasn’t much else they could realistically do.

"I can't... I don't..." Honoka was trying to get the words out, but those were all she could muster. Her eyes were wide in panic and fear as tears flowed freely down her face. "M-make it stop! Please... make the voices stop!" She wasn't exactly being quiet as she scream out in terror and pain, and it was only a matter of time until-
"Hey, who goes there!?" A voice called out from above. The Birdramon soared from above, glaring at Honoka, Magnus, and Sasha. "What are you three doing? Are you spying on us!?" The Birdramon circled the group, each flap of his wings sending very hot, but ultimately harmless embers upon them. Honoka looked up at the fiery bird Digimon with crazed eyes, grasped her D-Tector, and in a burst of light, a golden flowery fairy-like Digimon, a Lillymon, effortly broke free of Magnus's grasp, and flew up to meet the Birdramon in the air. Screaming out in an unintelligible rage, the Lillymon's foot radiated with a golden light as she launched a kick right to the Digimon's throat.
The Birdramon let out choking gasp as he struggled to stay into the air, going in for a rough landing. He gave the Lillymon a shocked expression, and it was clear that he was not expecting this much aggression. He tried to let out a scream for help, but his voice wasn't able to just yet.
Granted, the Lillymon's scream might have been sufficient enough, as she cried out once more as she dove down to pursue the grounded Birdramon.

Things had definitely taken a turn for the worse. Admittedly, Magnus had taken into account that Honoka’s condition was likely to get worse, just… not to this extent. This situation far exceeded Magnus’ limited proficiency in Digital World affairs. He could only watch helplessly as their position was spotted; before he could attempt to explain, a warning shot was fired their way
And that’s when all hell broke loose. Honoka evolved, broke free and began to brutally attack the Birdramon that had approached them. The brunette just stared at the development, his eyes blank. What was he supposed to do regarding this? The Lilimon’s intent seemed clearly to be to kill or to severely cripple the bird digimon, and that didn’t precisely sit well with him; while the cult might’ve been a bit loony, they hadn’t proven to be dangerous and clearly hadn’t aimed to injure them.
Chances were that there was no turning back from a situation like this and that everyone present would be undeniably hostile to them from this moment onward, but if somebody as compassionate as his companion was going to do something that she’d probably regret if she were in full control of herself, it was probably fitting to fix that first, then figure out what to do.
From one moment to the next, every digimon in Magnus’ army made their presence known in the immediate vicinity; while they hadn’t been physically present, they were more than aware of what was happening. And that also meant they had to move quickly; the male’s hand coursed as fast as it could through the Xros Loader’s dial. Soon enough, Akemi became Sagomon, Katherine became Anomalocarimon, and Sasha and Miyu converged into Seahomon. For the time being, Mai stood in the rear, waiting in case unexpected developments happened.
“Honoka, please come back to your senses!” The young man called out. It was hard to believe this was the girl that had told him to not take unnecessary risks on her behalf. “Fight what’s gotten its hold on you! You’re better than this!”
As Magnus called out to his berserk friend, both Sagomon and Anomalocarimon tried to forcefully separate the two ‘combatants’. Or, in more accurate terms, to prevent the Lilimon to keep on beating that Birdramon senseless.

Unfortunately for Magnus, Birdramon, and pretty much everyone around, Honoka would need to undergo a whole character arc before she would be able to fully control the raging spirits screaming inside her head. The crazed Lillymon didn't even acknowledge Magnus's completely reasonable demands of "Maybe don't murder the complete stranger, you crazy bitch!" But thankfully, thanks to the magic of brute force, the two adult-class Digimon were separated from each other thanks to Magnus's comrades. Honoka would still try to attack, however, so the Army would have to physically hold back her screaming body.
"Wh-what's going on!? Who are you people!?" The Birdramon cried out in a reserved, strained voice. He flapped his wings to get some air, before unleashing a volley flames into the sky, the flames getting some good distance up there before falling back to the ground in burning, but ultimately non-lethal embers. But they were enough to attract the attention of others nearby.
And it wasn't long before the Meramon and FlareLizamon got close as well. And from behind them the DeathMeramon approached.
"F-father..." Birdramon called out in a weak voice. "This one started to attack me out of the blue..."
The DeathMeramon gave a long, slow look towards the situation at hand, noticing only one of the strangers acting violent, most likely scratching and biting at whoever was holding her back, to little effect. He gave a look to the human, and said, "I don't know who you are, but thank you for helping my blessed child," He stated, his voice calm and collected, but with an undertone of... something cold. For someone who just saw his "blessed child" being attacked, his tone seemed eerily unconcerned about it.
Then cold voice or otherwise, his body began to flare up in temperature, along with the other flaming Digimon besides him. "Now stand back so we can begin this Digimon's punishment!"

They had managed to separate both combatants! Magnus sighed with relief at the development; just what he had aimed for, even though Honoka didn’t look like she was calming down any time soon. Katherine would try to bring her back to the place where they previously stood, all while doing her best to keep her pinned down with her pincers; it’d probably cause the Lilimon some discomfort to be dragged around like that, but it was definitely the lesser evil when comparing it to having her run wild. Akemi stood at the front in case anyone from the cult decided to turn violent, but otherwise, everything seemed to be under control.
Once Honoka was retrieved, Magnus would give the digimons frame a firm shaking. “Come on, Honoka! You can’t just lose yourself like that after that fancy speech about caring about yourself first. Come back to your senses already.” He sounded firm, but it was evident that the tension of the situation was getting to him. This wouldn’t be easy, would it? In any case, if they could defuse this situation, maybe they’d be able to drag Honoka to a place where she’d be able to calm down. Maybe his judgment was flawed, or maybe he didn’t really have a full perspective of what was happening here, but if this was any way related to the girl’s spirits, maybe it was just too dangerous to let them acquire those just yet.
Not like she could reason with anyone present here, it seemed. Once the cult regrouped, it seemed like their leader wanted to ‘punish’ the Lilimon. Cold sweat began trickling through the male’s brow; things were just getting better and better with each passing second, weren’t they? He decided to stop trying to reason with Honoka to step ahead and… try to reason with a crazed cultist. What a life, really.
”I apologize for my friend’s behavior. I feel like she might’ve fallen to some kind of sickness; I can assure she doesn’t harbor malice within her, but she has probably contracted some kind of illness and isn’t quite in her senses. Is there any way we can apologize for her transgressions without conflict? I need to treat her condition as soon as possible so something like this doesn’t happen again.”
Would they understand? Unlikely. But hopefully he’d be able to buy them enough time to think about how to face this crappy situation and get away from it somewhat unscathed. As things stood… they didn’t look all that promising.

Honoka let out an unintelligible scream in response to Magnus's plea. Clearly, she was in her right mind. Though for a brief moment, there was a brief glimmer of... something else. Something confused, and perhaps a little scared. But once the instant passed, an explosive rage took over her expressions once more.
Despite her futile struggles, it was clear that Honoka wasn't willing to back down. Which didn't help Magnus's attempt at defusing the situation with DeathMeramon. The flames around him intensified, sending another surge of heat towards the young man and his partners. Shortly afterward, his fiery friends followed the suit. Add on the desert heat, and things were getting a little more than warm.
But despite the increase in temperature, DeathMeramon seemed surprisingly calm. Almost unnaturally so. "If your friend is truly sick, then let my flames 'purify' her. If she is truly as innocent as you say, then there will be no issue. But if there is malice in her heart, such as her crazed display is revealing, then she will be punished by my flames... Along with her comrades who support her so." He lifted his hand, so his palm was facing upwards, and a bright sphere of blue flame gathered within it. "So what will it be. Will she alone be facing judgment alone, or will still stand besides her and burn with her?"
Meanwhile, the crazed golden Lillymon was trying to scratch and kick her way free. It was rather unpleasant. But once DeathMeramon made his threat proclamation, she was still for a second, before reaching out a hand towards the DeathMeramon's direction.
And from behind where the DeathMeramon stood, a massive flower began to bloom, nearly ten meters tall, sprouting from the scorched field of flowers where the group of fiery Digimon held their little gathering.

This wasn’t gonna be easy, was it? Honoka wasn’t precisely in a cooperative mood, and the cultists were getting more and more dangerous under their leader’s words. It seemed pretty inevitable that a conflict would break out, considering how every attempt at getting everyone to calm down had ended in nothing less than a big failure.
It couldn’t be more obvious, but the heatwave sent by DeathMeramon was a fairly obvious indicator; it was time to switch gears to a more assertive approach. Despite the heat, Magnus stood his ground and gazed at DeathMeramon. “While your kindness is supremely appreciated, her condition is something I’m more confident in treating myself. As the leader of a congregation, I’m sure you can empathize with the feeling of tending to your own.” It was certainly not gonna work, but poking holes at somebody’s argument was satisfying to an extent, wasn’t it? “I don’t plan on burning any time soon, or on submitting a friend to such a fate any time soon, though.”
A gaze was given to his army, which was met with everyone nodding back; well, except for Katherine; she was kinda busy trying to restrain Honoka. Fighting like that would be pretty risky, wouldn’t it? Chances are that they’d have to create a window to escape, but even that sounded pretty hard to accomplish. But, in all honesty? Anything sounded better than leaving Honoka to what looked, behaved, and most definitely was a crazed digimon.
What he hadn’t expected was, however, what Honoka proceeded to do next; as soon as the vegetation began to sprout behind the fire digimons, Magnus looked back at her, then forward. What was she meaning to do? Did she go back to her senses? As of now, it was hard to tell, and unless any further development incited them to act, Magnus’ team would adopt a mostly defensive stance for the time being. With any luck, that would pay off.

As it stood, Magnus's group bracing themselves was probably for the best.
While it looked like DeathMeramon was preparing to give a speech that would tear apart Magnus's argument and no doubt win him many, many internet points, he was interrupted by the looming flower that kept growing behind him. But the time he was about to speak, the flower had grown so large that it cast a shadow over the fiery group.
Then the flower fully bloomed, revealing a green and golden statue within. The statue suddenly flew out towards Honoka, lodging itself into the flower fairy's chest. Thick golden flower petals enshrouded her body like a floral cocoon, pulsating an ominous, yet paradoxically soothing warm light. Things went quiet after that, as DeathMeramon's group wasn't sure quite to make of the situation.
But shortly after, the flowery cocoon expanded in size, and a furious roar burst from within. The petals erupted in a furious, fierce floral fury as the creature emerged.
It wasn't by any means an intimidating creature, however. Its face was in the shape of a sunflower, and it had two small, simplistic beads for eyes. A wide, dopey smile beamed across its lower face. Two large leaves served as its wings as it flew into the air, its transformation wrenching it free from Katherine's grasp. Its body was fairly simplistic in design. Completely green, with long arms and short legs. It had a long tail with several thorns on its tip.
"Sunflowmon..." DeathMeramon stated, more confused than anything else. But as he did so the flower beast turned her attention towards the flaming Digimon. Its large, permanent smile and warm radiance did nothing to portray the malice and rage the Sunflowmon possessed. The petals around its face glowing with intense light as it shot out a fierce, bright beam towards DeathMeramon.
"Father, look out!" The regular Meramon yelled out, standing in between the incoming blast and his savior. The beam of light collided with the fiery Digimon's frame. Meramon let out a shriek as Sunflowmon's sunshine completely tore away the flames on his body and left nothing but a scrawny, charred-black stick figure that collapsed to the ground, motionless.
DeathMeramon looked at its lesser self in shock and horror, then intensified his flames as he turned his attention towards the flying beast that dared to assault them. "No more talking!" He yelled out in a coarse, violent tone. "Everyone, incinerate whatever the hell that thing is!" He formed a blue sphere of flame in his hand as he looked like he was charging something powerful.
FlaLizamon, who had been quiet until now, let out a bloody scream as he let out a stream of flames from his mouth towards the flying SunFlowmon. And the injured Birdramon took to the skies once more, ready to fly up and charge their attacker.
Looks like things were going to get messy. And violent. So... how was Magnus going to clean this up?

Catching a break seemed like a complete impossibility at the moment. Or maybe they were? Maybe they were gonna catch a break in a weird way that would no doubt inconvenience them somehow later. Well, at least for the time being it was hard to know for certain.
Magnus and his group steeled themselves at what was coming next, even if they weren’t sure if it was going to be coming from DeathMeramon or the vegetation that was growing at an accelerated rate behind him. To the surprise of some, it was the flower the one who acted first, sending what could be described as a totem in Honoka’s general direction.
What was about to happen sounded pretty in line with how spirit evolution was supposed to be in Magnus’ mind; promptly, what had been a Lilimon transformed into a feral, flower-based creature that somewhat resembled a sunflower. At least it was a good thing that DeathMeramon and his cultists were fairly distracted by this development, mostly because Magnus’ group wasn’t all that sure regarding how to proceed either, even if a lingering sense of what no doubt was an impending confrontation was probably pervading the entirety of the group.
“I take you’re seeing it coming, aren’t you?” Seahomon’s comment cut the air as a good deal of the army gazed at the digimon as she escaped Anomalocarimon’s grasp. Mai herself gave the male a sharp jab on his shin, but before he could complain, the serious-looking Gomamon began speaking.
“I don’t think words are going to get us anywhere from now on, and you standing there isn’t very productive either, Magnus. Mind snapping out of it and you know. Do what you’re supposed to be doing?”
That wake-up call seemed to have done the trick. The male blinked a couple times before staring at the new scene and at the obviously dead Meramon that Honoka had just… probably killed? Pretty grisly, at least if those hadn’t been digimons.
Time to get rolling; the threat of the confrontation not existing anymore felt relieving, just as the fact that Akemi had more or less free rein to act whoever she pleased. “Let’s go with the usual, girls! We don’t know just yet if Honoka is gonna turn on us by the end of this, but let’s hope she doesn’t!” As far as the male could tell, the Sunflowmon only wanted to exterminate any fire-based entities in her general vicinity, and the group itself couldn’t be farther from that. Hopefully she’d keep her mindset regarding that; at least for the time being, he wasn’t interested in finding out.
The members of the army got moving; Seahomon shot out a blast of concentrated sound towards the Birdramon, its intent to make the digimon plummet again and hopefully render it unable to take flight for some moments. In the meantime, Anomalocarimon shot a water jet towards the Flarerizamon with the intention to subdue it. Akemi stood by the rear in case there were any hidden threats they hadn’t noticed yet, and the center of the stage was all DeathMeramon and Honoka’s.
What would happen next? It was impossible to predict, and while this situation was slightly better than five minutes ago, it was still far from optimal.

Seahomon's sonic blast struck true, shaking the Birdramon to their core as they shivered into a mess of quivering flames and feathers. They nearly crashed into the ground, barely able to land and stay standing. They let out a not-so shrill scream of pain as they looked away from the rampaging Honoka over towards the Seahomon that harmed them so. They were probably pretty mad about that, since they started charging at the Seahomon like big angry chicken.
And while Katherine's aquatic attack assailed another ardent aggressor, Flarerizamon still managed to get his stream of flame into the air, though it wasn't nearly the intense and steady blast of flames as he intended as he was pushed down by a stream of water. He let out a scream of terror and agony as his body began to sizzle and he began to roll around on the ground, as if to put out the water over his burning body. "No! No! Get it off of me! Get it off of me!" It seemed that water was the fiery Digimon's weakness. Go figure.
And as awesome as it was for Akemi to take on another fiery Digimon and show off how strong she was, there just wasn't any other attacker around. Magnus's group did catch these guys by surprise, after all. She could go bug the fallen Meramon or something, though. Or maybe play "I spy" with Magnus while this fight goes down?
Meanwhile, DeathMeramon and Honoka sure were kerscuffling. Flarerizamon's attack, while halted prematurely, still singed into the flying plant Digimon's side, distracting her enough for the other Ultimate-level Digimon to get off an attack. He flung out a series of chains that wrapped themselves around the large plant monster. Then the flames erupted into blue flames and began to scorch the Sunflowmon.
However, Honoka's rampage wasn't halted fully just because of a few chains. The light the blue flames gave out began to shift to a bunch of different colors into a kaleidoscope swirling around the plant Digimon's form. Then, the large plant Digimon shifted into a much smaller, almost humanoid bird creature, a Silphymon. And with the decrease in size, the chains slacked and the bird man Digimon flew through DeathMeramon's trap, straight towards her would-be capturer at blinding speeds. The nails of her large feathered hands erupted in color as it looked like she was getting ready to tear into the DeathMeramon's chest.

After the initial exchange of blows, it surely seemed like these fiery individuals were a whole lot of talk, and not a whole lot of actual fighting skill. In every possible front, Honoka’s side was dominating the fiery/mad cultists with some room to spare. Sure, DeathMeramon’s matchup with the girl herself seemed like the closest one, but she seemed to be firmly in the lead as well.
“Were they really all bark and no bite? That’s… a bit disappointing?” That couldn’t be all, right? While arrogance wasn’t necessarily a rare trait among cults of this style, Magnus’ cautious nature prompted him to play this one hyper-safely. Were there any clues of any possible enemies around, or anything of the like? As of right now it seemed like the coast was clear, so better if they finished this one as quickly as possible.
Their strategy of having Akemi remain in the rear paid off, at least in regards to defending the main group from possible threats like the charging Birdramon. Sagomon herself would attempt to block the oncoming charge and retaliate by smashing the bird into the ground with the blunt end of her sickle. With any luck, that’d be enough to subdue her.
On the other side, Katherine was preparing to fire another water jet, this time directly into the DeathMeramon. Honoka seemed to have the situation under control, but the fastest they could end this confrontation without sacrificing their safety, the better, right? Sadly, Seahomon couldn’t do much in the current situation since her sonic attacks were likely to affect the Silphymon as well; it was her turn to remain alert in case of any unforeseen attacks towards her human.
“We should look forward to retrieving Honoka soon.” Mai told the male. “Once DeathMeramon has been taken care of, nothing is preventing us from abandoning the scene.” Well, except for the spirit user deciding she didn’t have enough. “Remaining here isn’t very wise, and it seems like she has retrieved her spirits already.”
A nervous nod followed from the brunette. They had been able to handle Honoka in a weaker form. Would they be able to do so now? For some reason, he wasn’t precisely eager to find out.

Sadly for the group of fiery Digimon, they weren't as bad as Magnus assumed. But between the power difference between measly champions and Kathy and Akemi's forms, not to mention Seahomon's briny blast towards the Digimon clearly vulnerable to water, they were fighting at a bit of a disadvantage.
Speaking of getting their asses owned, Akemi's sudden movement of against the charging Birdramon, the burning avian falling over easily while moving across the land. "You all started this... and we're just defending ourselves... why are you letting us all die...?" The Birdramon let out a weak plea.
And as for Kathy's blast of water, it struck true, but oddly enough, the water simply washed right over him, as if he were a DuckMeramon or something. He seemed completely unfazed, dare I say, immune, to the water-based attack.
"You fool!" Flarizamon yelled out, after having mentally recovered from his brief bout with Kathy's terrifying water blast. He still looked worse for wear, despite only haven taken a hit from one attack. "He is the steam savior! No water may touch him, for he is blessed with the protection from the one thing we fire Digimon fear the most!"
Sure enough, as the Flarizamon proclaimed this, a chain around DeathMeramon's neck began to glow a faint blue light. It was as if he possessed some sort of major artifact that protected him from such woes, and like he used that to his advantage to gain some kind of cult following or something.
Meanwhile, the many-colored Silphymon came charging in, extending her cat-like claws as she slashed across the DeathMeramon's chest. The flaming ultimate-level grunted in pain, but his opponent suddenly let loose another slash with her other hand, suddenly spinning around and appearing behind the DeathMeramon, leaving a trail of scratches across his back.
"You need to stay still!" DeathMeramon yelled out, burning chains flying from his body and tethering themselves to the bird kitty hybrid. DeathMeramon then pulled the enraged Honoka into a bearhug, where she could experience the DeathMeramon's burning flames up close and personal. Honoka let out a bloody scream of pain and rage as she struggled to break out of his grasp, but to no avail. "Now, everyone left, light us up!" DeathMeramon yelled out.
Thankfully for Honoka, Meramon was down for the count and Birdramon was staying down, so the only Digimon capable of helping out was the Flarizamon. He unleashed a large torrent of flames, no doubt one of his strongest moves he had to offer, directly towards both DeathMeramon and the grappled Honoka. If it connected, it would likely sting quite a bit. Though DeathMeramon probably wouldn't be too bothered by the flames.

Wait, what? Was this Birdramon really trying to guilt-trip them into thinking they were in the wrong for this engagement? That was either extremely innocent or extremely ironic. And the Birdramon had been witness to that very exchange. “Wh-what?” Akemi replied in disbelief. “Magnus t-tried his best so this fi-fight wouldn’t happen a-at all!”
The Birdramon herself had fired the warning shots that had triggered Honoka’s berserk state. This wouldn’t be if it weren’t for that senseless provocation. Or by Honoka’s overreaction, but it was fairly obvious that she wasn’t quite in control of her faculties right now. Nevertheless, Akemi nor anyone in Magnus’ army was interested in killing any digimons in this engagement, even though they wouldn’t doubt to resort to that in case it was necessary for their survival.
Possible corner case aside, it seemed like the the DeathMeramon hadn’t lied about one thing; at plain sight, he seemed to be completely immune to water-based attacks. Something fairly worrying, at least when it came to a decent chunk of Magnus’ offensive ability. Luckily, Katherine had more to her than the ability to spit water jets in an attempt to subdue the opposition.
With Seahomon firmly in the backlines as reserve, Akemi dashed ahead to form a screen of water that blocked the would-be attack Flarerizamon sent in his leader’s direction. In the meantime, Katherine closed the distance that separated her from the main engagement and viciously bashed DeathMeramon with her pincers. Even the hardiest digimons would probably get a bit dizzy after that, so that would hopefully be enough to give Honoka enough time to break free. Given the attack connected, at least.
As for Magnus himself, he was more or less waiting for an opening to hopefully whisk everyone away for safety. This situation didn’t sit exactly right with him, and they had already gotten what they looked for, right? There was no point in sustaining this senseless fight for any longer.

Naturally, the Birdramon couldn't possibly think that their group was in the wrong, right? So obviously it was all Magnus's group's fault for enabling the raging psychopath to go nuts like that, as well as supporting said psychopath. Social commentaries aside, it didn't seem like DeathMeramon was looking for logical, rational fiery folk for his little anti-water cult he seemed to be trying to center around himself. But the Birdamon stayed down, at the very least wise enough to know when they've been beaten.
But to the main action, Akemi's defense proved more than sufficient for the Flarizamon's assault. The fire Digimon let out a string of curses, yelling, "Why do you watery Digimon always insist on ruining everything for us fire Digimon! You've already claimed the oceans, so why are you trying to take what precious land we fire Digimon have left!?" Clearly, this guy had his own hangups. But that wasn't really anyone else's problem today.
And as for Katherine's attack? Yeah, that went about as expected. She could definitely feel the heat for getting so close to such a fiery Digimon, but the damage was negligible, all things considered. Probably better than what Honoka was currently feeling, getting bearhugged by the ghost-rider wannabe. Luckily, thanks to Kathy's actions the Silphymon was able to get free. But her form changed once more. Getting even smaller.
But something far more terrifying hovered in Honoka's place.
But while she was most certainly small, no larger than a moderately-sized teddy-bear, this beast was no less feral than the others. And then it did something so terrifying that everyone present would no doubt tremble in sheer terror.
It started serenading everyone. It fluttered around and started singing without abandon, a surprisingly sweet and melodic tone, to be fair, but no less uncontrolled than the previously two aggressive Beast Spirits.
Okay... Maybe this one was a little more different from the rest.

Imagine trying to convince a group of digimons that had more or less been thoroughly brainwashed. Definitely not the smartest idea Akemi had, but her compassionate nature couldn’t prevent her from trying to rectify what had been a pretty big misconception, at least from her side.
It was probably not gonna do much in the grand scheme of things, though.
What about Honoka’s own struggle, though? It seemed like anything they attempted against the DeathMeramon was thoroughly useless, but not all hope was lost, even despite… the girl’s new, and no doubt terrifying, form. If its size wasn’t telling, the fact that Marine Angemon probably didn’t possess a lot of offensive ability would be fairly obvious by how; at least initially, its song didn’t look like it had that much of an effect, but it wasn’t like that mattered to Katherine.
The Anomalocarimon had initially believed that the chain surrounding DeathMeramon’s neck protected it only from water-based attacks, but since her attempt at getting close and personal with the stubborn digimon had failed, maybe it was time to try and attack it firsthand.
