Save my son... (Luna/Ask)

The atmosphere had never been as tense as it was now. It was late at night in Rosewood, and running through the streets of the city was a group of five; two humans and three Digimon; a Shoutmon, a Hawkmon and a Hackmon. The Hackmon, named Luneth, was currently in critical condition. There were cuts all over his body, and he was bleeding data. His body was also glitching out, signifying his state as needing urgent medical care. This Digimon was currently being held by Adrian Boriker as the group ran to their destination. Come on, come on, come on, we gotta move faster...!
It wasn't just Adrian who was worried, however. The Hackmon's father Shoutmon and his best friend Kaya both had tears running down their faces, both had such huge connections with Luneth and to see him hurt like this... all the more reason they had to keep moving. The group would then reach the building they needed to go to, a simple white-colored two story building with a slightly red tinted roof. This had to be the place. Adrian would be the first to rush through the door, followed by Shoutmon, Kaya and Hawkeye. All four were extremely out of breath, they most clearly ran all the way here. "LUNA!" Shoutmon yelled at the top of his lungs, provided that Luna currently wasn't in the lobby of the clinic. Otherwise he'd simply shout in his indoor voice as much as possible. "Luna, we need your help! Please!!!"

Dust had to admit, he was struggling a bit to stay awake as he sat in a small desk near the front of the door, there hadn't been that many visitors since they opened, just a few check ups here and there. Still that was probably for the best, the best healer is one that isn't needed after all. If Digimon weren't getting hurt then it was fine by Dust. He was going to think about heading upstairs when he heard the doors slam open in a rush, if he was any other digimon he'd of jumped at the sudden noise but as it was he simply looked over at the group of five.
"Uhh, she's upstairs at the moment, one second." Dust hopped off his chair and started for the stairs, just to see the Lekismon Luna hop down over him real quick, obviously with her hearing she heard the shout better then anyone here.
"Kaya I got your messa- Oh, Oh my." Luna stopped for a moment as her eyes landed on the Hackmon in question. "Alright, bring him over to one of the beds. Dust please grab some of the bandages from the back, we'll need at least three bunches." Luna asked calmly making sure she showed no signs of panic as she walked over and patted the bed she wished for them to bring him to so she could check him.
Dust gave a nod and rushed back up the stairs, though they were strangers to him they seemed to know Luna, so he'd do what he can for them.

Thankfully Luna was close by once the group of five entered the clinic. The Lekismon took one look at the severely injured Hackmon and, without any sign of panic at all, instructed Adrian to bring him over to one of the beds. And Adrian did just that, going to the nearest bed and carefully placing the unconscious Hackmon on top of it, after Luna was finished patting the bed of course.
"I cannot believe all of this happened while I was asleep," Hawkeye muttered, still not believing what was happening in front of his very own eyes.
"I tried to summon you, but he was just too quick," Kaya admitted. "He smacked the Digivice out of my hand, and made sure that I wouldn't be able to get it back. I just... I had no idea Luneth was a Digimon... or even Shoutmon's son."
"Adrian, if Luna's as good as Kaya says, Skye and Rory can't find out about this," Shoutmon told his partner. "They both already have enough to worry about, I can't imagine how badly Skye will take hearing about her son like this..."
"I... I understand, Shoutmon," Adrian says with a nod. "I'm worried about Luneth too. All we can do is wait and hope that Luna can help him."
"I should've been there with them," Shoutmon said as he began crying again.
"I shouldn't have hesitated to summon Hawkeye," Kaya added. "Please hang in there, Luneth..."

Luna got to work the second they placed him on the bed, carefully the Lekismon looked over the unconscious digimon investigating every cut and every mark that was on the Hackmon. Her hands moved slow and meticulous making sure to see absolutely everything about the wounds that she could before she started doing anything. Her face was calm and focused, as if nothing could break her concentration. After a small bit she sighed lightly as she took a small step back.
"Alright, I grab four just in case Luna." Dust called from upstairs as he walked down, rolls of bandages bouncing against his arms and pendant. "Where do you want them?" Dust walked over to her and noticed the look on her face, she seemed sad.
"Don't worry about them Dust. I don't think regular bandaging and healing field will be enough for now." It was pretty clear to her on a closer glance that this wasn't something she could cure regularly. So it was time to take a step away from the regular.
"I need some space for what I'm about to do, I won't get a second chance if I mess up." Luna mentioned to everyone, that included Dust.
"...Alright, if you're sure Luna." Dust quickly complied and backed off towards the front of the building near the door, pretty much just showing that's how far everyone else should be from Luna.
Luna after given enough space would place her hands together in a prayer and close her eyes, muttering old digicode to herself as slowly the room around her got darker as she talked to herself, slowly around her a large sigil would appear below her, the same crescent moon that appeared on her gloves as she kept repeating the same lines for a while. Eventually after a small bit she'd open her eyes and gently place her hand on Luneth's head for a few seconds. "Rest now, for this shall all soon seem as one bad dream, Lunar Dreams. Restore this digimon."
As she said those final words all the power she built up would slowly go through her body and into the Hackmon. As it did his body would recover bit by bit, wounds vanishing as if they were never caused in the first place until eventually the power faded and Luneth was restored back to normal, as if nothing had even attacked him in the first place.
He'd still be unconscious for a while, most likely due to shock. As Luna removed her hand she stumbled backwards and fell on her butt, drained after using that technique. "Luna!" Dust instantly ran over to help Luna.
"I'll be fine Dust, just a little light headed is all." Luna would shake her head trying her best to focus.

Everyone's heart or Digicore skipped a beat when Luna mentioned how regular bandaging and healing wasn't going to be enough. But in Shoutmon's case he just felt sick. Those wounds were that serious... was he even going to be able to survive, even with treatment? Shoutmon rested his head on Adrian's side, who patted his head in an effort to reassure him.
"Then... then is there anything you can do at all?" Kaya felt like she had to ask. Apparently though she did have at least one method, as she told everyone - including her Impmon friend Dust - to step back. The group all looked at each other before doing so, stepping back in order to let Luna do whatever she needed to do. As long as she could heal Luneth somehow... just as long as Luneth can live!
Luna would then put her hands together and chant some sort of prayer. The room slowly began to grow darker, a crescent moon sigil that could be seen on her gloves was now forming below her. She repeated this same chant for a while before she placed her hand on Luneth's forehead. Shoutmon watched this happen with a sick feeling in his stomach...
And just like that, Luneth started healing. His wounds started closing all by themselves, eventually vanishing as if they never happened in the first place. While Luneth was still unconscious and probably would be for a while, his condition was leagues better than it had been before. It seemed she had done it... Luneth had been saved.
Immediately afterwards Luna would stumble over backwards, seemingly drained by the attack. She insisted she was fine however, so there was most likely no reason to worry. Still though... she had managed to do it. She saved Luneth!
"You have no idea how grateful I am to you, Luna," Shoutmon told the Lekismon before bowing to her. "Thank you for saving my son!"
"You saved the day, Luna," Kaya managed to say through teary eyes, smiling as she looked back at the now healed up Hackmon.

Luna patted her knee for a second as she slowly got up, helped a bit by Dust, eventually she got up fully and streached her back out for a second. "Man, that ability always knocks the wind outta me. Suppose I just hafta get used to it." Luna mentioned as she shook her head, making sure she could focus again.
"To be fair it's probably for the best you don't have to use it often." Dust pointed out, Luna simply gave a nod in agreement, after all the ability was for worst case scenario type of stuff. Which is exactly what this was.
"It's no trouble, I'm happy to help. That's what this place is for after all." Luna gave a simple smile, she was right back to being her cheerful self, emphasized by Kaya mentioning her saving the day, which Luna just gave a smile and a thumbs up. "Course I did, I always do after all."
Which was made even better by the (Slightly Sarcastic) clapping Dust was doing next to her. "You're just the best Luna." He seemed sincere about that part though.
"Yup, though we should probably let him rest for a bit, if he wakes up too suddenly he might go into shock with the sudden change to his body, it wouldn't be too bad but probably safer to let him sleep there for a bit." Luna would then point to the stairs nearby. "If you don't mind I'd want you to come upstairs with me, I want to hear about what happened." Plus it'd give the group a bit of time to calm down, heck even Kaya was crying! No tears allowed in this clinic. If everyone agreed her and Dust would quickly go upstairs and lead them into Luna's room, which was pretty bare all things considered, just a bed.

Luna suggested that they let Luneth sleep there for a bit longer, since he could go into shock about the change in his body if he woke up too suddenly. The group thought that that may be for the best, he was just healed back to full health after all. She suggested that they would all follow her upstairs, as she wanted to know the story of just how the hell this happened to Luneth.
"Yeah, I would like to know as well," a sudden British voice would say. If the group turned around towards the front entrance they would see a young man with messy brown hair and green eyes, and wearing a grey and cyan outfit that looked super sleek. Beside him would be two Digimon, a Dokamon to his left and a blue-cloaked AppHackmon to his right.
"Johan," Adrian said, recognizing the man. "Dokamon, and... I'm sorry, have we met?"
"Nah, we haven't. Name's Zero."
"I'm Agent Walker of AEGIS," Johan informed those who were unaware. "We specialize in keeping the law and order on Earth balanced when it comes to Digimon. We have reason to believe that your incident may be involved with a case we are currently undertaking. I was just going to suggest that you share your story before she suggested it first."
"Alright, I'll tell you guys everything I know," Kaya responded. "You'll just have to... bare with me a bit."
"I understand."
The group would then be lead up to Luna's room, where Kaya explained the entire story. A masked man by the name of Grandmaster who was responsible for Luneth's injuries. She explained how he used some kind of gadget to take his flowing data, which was the part that intrigued the AEGIS agents the most. "He only needed his data? If that was the case it should've just been a simple slash and that's it. Why go that far?"
"He seemed... hateful. Angry. Like Luneth has personally wronged him. And... he seemed to enjoy hurting Luneth..."
"That miserable, slimy creep...!" Shoutmon growled, unable to keep his cool after hearing a story like that. "HE'S GONNA PAY FOR GOING AFTER MY SON LIKE THAT!"
"Patience, Shoutmon. We do not even know where he is. We don't even know his true identity."

Dust had his eyes closed for a moment as another newcomer came in, with his arms crossed he simply looked up at Luna. "Do you know this one too?" Dust asked looking up at Luna who simply shook her head affirming that she didn't know who this human was. "Getting involved in another large situation huh? Guess this is just par for the course for us huh Luna?" Dust mentioned finding a small amount of humor in the situation.
"Not even a month we're back together, guess this is just our luck Dust." Luna joked back trying to make the situation a bit lighter, they were used to getting dragged along into other people's problems, yet neither one of them could deny wanting to help out.
Luna simply sat on her bed and listened to Kaya while Dust was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, both were listening intently on the story, neither flinching at the details. "To think that someone could do something so horrible." Luna's ears drooped a bit upon hearing the full story, definitely not what she wanted to hear.
"Takes all kinds Luna, Could be that he had a personal beef with Luneth or his family. Either that or..." Dust paused for a moment thinking his words carefully, Luna looked over, as if expecting him to say something else but he simply shook his head. "It's nothing, it's basically meaningless conjecture for me to say anything for now." He didn't want to say anything without having the full idea on the goings on.
"Did he hurt you at all Kaya? If so I have some human medical supplies as well." It seemed odd to Luna that this stranger would attack Luneth alone, especially with that much hate. "Though it feels pretty terrible to think someone like that is out and about..."

"If you don't mind, this really isn't a good time to be joking around, Luna," Shoutmon immediately said to the Lekismon after her banter with Dusk. You know he's serious when he's not even in the mood to joke around like he usually is.
After Kaya shared her story to the others, Luna couldn't believe that someone could do something so horrible, and the others couldn't blame her. They all felt the exact same way. Dust suggested that this guy could've possibly had beef with Luneth's family. "That's impossible, I haven't heard of Grandmaster until today, and Skye and Rory would tell you the exact same thing."
"We had a run in with this guy back in my world," Johan said. "He somehow prompted a Digital Shift to open inside of Shibuya Academy, causing swarms of Numemon to roam the halls. A group of chosen humans and Digimon and I went into the Shift to try and shut it down, and that's when we met Grandmaster. He said something back then that scared me... I think he's discovered a way to possibly control a Digimon, and Digimon data is what he needs to complete this program."
Everyone's eyes widened after hearing that. "Controlling? Like brainwashing?"
"A human couldn't do something like that... that's impossible!"
"A human also couldn't normally enter a Digital Shift without some kind of Digivice, much less prompt one to open up. This isn't an ordinary human we're dealing with."
"It gets even scarier... I managed to discover a hacker within the school's systems and found that they had accessed information to certain students. Students who are more than likely involved with Digimon in some way."
"Did... did he find kids from the middle school as well?"
"He most likely could have."
Kaya had to sit down on the bed after hearing a bombshell like this, with Hawkeye following along not long after. Adrian paced back and forth around the room. "This isn't like anything we've dealt with before," Adrian muttered, "We've dealt with giant mega level Digimon threats, not guys who've discovered Digimon and now decide 'Hey, I wanna control them all!'"
"And my son was caught in the middle of it..." Shoutmon said in a hoarse whisper.

Luna gave a small nod. "Sorry, he was just doing it to help calm my nerves, this is pretty intense after all." While Luna did seem like she was taking a lot of this well, inside she was pretty badly freaking out about this whole stuff. Dust probably picked up on that which is why he decided to joke.
Shoutmon then mentioned there was no way this was some family beef, which Dust was fine with believing. It wasn't really a full theory cause he couldn't know much about them. Then the bombshell dropped on what was really going on with this so called grandmaster, Luna had her hands on her knees and eyes closed taking it all in. "Control a digimon, that's just. Not right." It sounded so messed up for her to hear, Luna wanted this to just be a bad dream but nope, it was real.
Dust had his eyes closed as well, crossing his arms and musing a bit to himself for a moment. "Then I guess my thoughts weren't conjecture after all. I think I know why he was so cruel to Luneth. It's just a theory but, he might see Digimon as objects." Dust stated without pause, Luna was confused for a minute so Dust continued.
"I've seen some cruel humans in my time, a creature from another world that isn't a human. A new plaything to control, if he's set on controlling digimon like this, and what he did to your son then I've little doubts that he thinks a digimon has any value of a life." It sounded messed up but Luna had to admit Dust had a point, the Grandmaster went out of his way not to harm Kaya when he could've done so easily, because she's human.
"Whatever he's planning I don't like the looks of any of it, doubt anyone could talk him down. For all we know he thinks he's doing the right thing. For humans." Dust had seen this type of babble before, everyone thinks they're right.

"Yeah, I get it. I just don't feel comfortable with it right now, is all... and I hate that I'm not. It's like my whole thing, y'know?" Shoutmon was trying to stay as strong as possible right now, but it was hard to do so when his son was just nearly killed by some kinda mad human with a Chrome Digizoid sword.
The pieces of Grandmaster's supposed plan were slowly coming into place. It was now believed that he attacked Luneth in order to collect his data so that he could complete something that would grant someone the ability to control a Digimon. It was unbelievable that someone could think to do such a thing, but that's what seemed the most likely right about now. Adrian could hear Omni's words play back in his head at that moment:
{"Just you wait. The humans will find a way to purge our kind. You cannot trust them."}
"Omni was right, humans will find a way to purge Digimon someday," Adrian muttered.
"Omni?"
"My previous life. A RedMagnamon. He killed humans due to a group of them destroying his village once sometime in the past, and we had to fight against him... or rather my friends had to fight against me in order to save me. It's... complicated."
Kaya's and Hawkeye's eyes both widened immediately as they stared at Shoutmon with looks that seemed to be combinations of surprise and fear. "What... what kind of Digimon was he, did you say?"
"A RedMagnamon. Why?"
So many emotions ran through Kaya and Hawkeye at that moment. That... that was insane! Shoutmon couldn't have been that same RedMagnamon that killed Eizo! He was... he was Shoutmon! Nice, friendly, jokester, always there to lend a hand, he couldn't have been that same monster that caused Hawkeye years of traumatization... could he be? Mimi the ModokiBetamon-X's words played back in Hawkeye's mind:
{"Could be someone got to him first, could be that he realizes he's got enemies and is laying low, could even be that he's waltzing about in Rookie Stage not even knowing people are pissed off at him."}
He can't be...
While those two were stuck in their own heads, Dust went on to explain just why Grandmaster could be doing what he was doing, and why he was especially cruel to Luneth: he didn't see Digimon as living creatures. He saw them as objects, playthings to control, monsters with no value in their lives. And he could even be thinking he's doing the right thing. "I can one hundred percent see a human thinking with that kind of mindset. And it scares me the kind of things he's able to do."
"I can keep helping with searching for him, but whatever he uses he makes sure to not leave a trace of any kind. The dude's good, hiding his identity like that. Imagine if he was actually some kinda bigshot rich guy, amirite?"
"Not a good time for jokes, Zero."
