Name: The Digimon World Tour
Number of Members Allowed: 8-16 members per phase in three phases.
People Needed: To participate in this plot, it is recommended for most threads that a character be a long-term resident or frequent visitor of the human world. This plot calls for no particular ideals or alignment; on the contrary, diversity on that front might enhance it. You should use a character whom you are willing to allow to witness large-scale property damage in the human world and maybe even human lives in danger if a situation gets to that extreme.
Description: Have you ever noticed how few digidestined, including the immigrants, learned about digimon before coming to Tokyo? Have you ever noticed just how many people in your neighborhood have had an encounter of the digital kind? It almost looks like there is some strong link between Tokyo, especially the Shibuya ward, and the digital world. Is this by a mind's design? A random accident? A complete coincidence? This question will be explored, but the players will have a more urgent question to answer as well: if digimon activity has almost always been in Tokyo, why is it now happening globally?
Your human character's best friend from their home country messages you frantically, demanding to know whether you can keep a secret. Your digimon character has noticed that the humans they meet in the digital world have started to become much more diverse... and much more confused. Digimon have been springing up in many parts of the world lately, and while the news certainly hasn’t been covering it, they will be if nothing is done about it. These places have nowhere near the number of digidestined or digimon residents as Tokyo, and they're going to need help dealing with all kinds of issues that arise from panicked ultimates laying waste to remote, rural neighborhoods to the small baby digimon in the big, big city who just want to go home. On the other side of that coin, unwitting humans may find themselves in the digital world without a clue about what they’re experiencing.
While your characters are seeing the world, they will also change it - or maybe they will try not to. This is a chance for some characters who walked into a well-developed world with some established digimon-human relations and norms to see the other side, what happens when the worlds first converge. With the ability to see this event from the perspective of both its past and its present, your characters will make choices and take actions that will either pave the way for the expansion of digital activity across the world or to stop it in its tracks.
Buckle your seatbelts, secure your digivices, and brush up on your foreign language skills. We’re kicking off the Digimon World Tour.
Goals:
-Give the Outside Shibuya subboard some healthy exercise
-Temporarily encourage digimon events outside of Shibuya, Tokyo
-Establish lore for why digimon events are so concentrated in Tokyo
-Have fun adventures in new, unfamiliar (or perhaps more familiar, in some cases) environments
Up to four characters may sign up for any of the following scenarios. One player may only use one character in each phase. Recommendations are NOT requirements; it might be fun and interesting to see how it goes if the team bucks the recommendations entirely, and it's impossible to predict everything about how a scenario might develop. To emphasize, recommendations are NOT requirements.

Special thanks to Martian for coming up with the basic idea and for letting me run with it.
Phase 1
The story so far: Your character receives the following message straight to their digivice and/or any other digital communication device at their disposal:

Subject: Immediate Attention Required
We beg your pardon at this most inopportune of moments, but an unanticipated phenomenon bids most urgent heed. In practicing our hobby of monitoring the spatial border between this realm of data and the distant land of reality, We have detected anomalous peaks in interuniversal transcommunication. Further investigation yielded an astonishing discovery: a plethora of heretofore unfamiliar gateways have materialized in a variety of digital locales. We confess our ignorance in regards to interplanetary geography in order to regretfully inform you that We are unable to elucidate further with a precise geological fix on any doorway's other end. We can only assure you it most certainly does not link nearby any of the known portals settled within the region known as Tokyo, Japan.
It is highly recommended that denizens of the human realm inquire post haste at the site in question. Enclosed within this message may be found a file to be installed as a single-use Digi-Port of our own invention, which when activated will open a path to somewhere near the coordinates (provided below) of the portal's opposite endpoint. We ask any responding to locate the exact site of the portal and report it back to this address for further study. Be aware that if a portal's anchor is in an accessible area of the digital world, transmigration may have already occurred. It is by this justifaction by which We assign this circumstance such high significance. Out of respect for humans and our kin abroad, We concluded that this responsibility was best shouldered by agents better enlightened on this subject matter and more acclimated to the terrain than We.
Meanwhile, We beseech our digimon friends and our warmly welcomed human citizens to be equally vigilant in our own lands. If transmigration has occurred into the realm of humans, it stands to reason that the circumstance may be mirrored in our own. Please ponder the plausible implications of a potential influx of uninitiated humans and possible digimon companions and be vigilant for opportunities to lend them aid. If We become aware of any such instances, rest assured that We shall promptly pass them on.
Kindly see below for a list of instances of previously undiscovered interdimensional gateways as well as known cases of transmigration. In some cases you shall additionally find the requisite files for near-instantaneous transportation to the desired locale. We extend our gratitude for your anticipated participation.

Scene: [BEGIN FORWARDED NOTICE:] Hello! My name is Lynxmon, and I desperately need help. I'm with an adult human here in Farside Village, and I don't know what to do with him. I found him wandering alone and dehydrated, but his health has improved since. However, he keeps fainting again almost as soon as he comes to, the trains don't run anywhere near this small village, for some reason I've been unable to send him through my personal digiport (more details about that upon arrival). I have not been able to find his digivice. Someone, please help me get this poor man well again and back home.

To keep it fun and flexible, there will be no static grace period. Instead, please do your best to post at a pace that is respectful of the other thread members. I may give you a nudge if I think the thread is falling behind, and I encourage the same nudging back at myself if necessary.
