The First tower [Mikemon]

Well, this guy seemed friendly enough - if not a bit aloof and clueless about the modern world. An out-of-place volcanic elemental from antiquity... well, the doctor had seen stranger, but this was easily in the top 10 or 20.
The cat cracked a smirk, but for the time being, had to keep at his work (honestly, he was already mentally kicking himself for taking such a long break, anyway!). This Guardromon wouldn't be the last patient that Crimson saw here: next was an Andromon, and then a Solarmon, each undergoing a similar diagnostic process and treatment. These, and a few others, would be checked, cleared out, and given a 'slip' showing that they were clean and checked out.
And a little more than two hours later, when the sun finally started to set? Mikemon asked for Crimson to wait a moment, while Dr. Mikemon stepped out to get his assistant. Crimson would hear part of the conversation as the two walked on over: "... So this will be the last one for today. Don't expect you to know what to do, but you'll have elemental-type patients in the future, so I at least want you to watch, alright?"
With that, the doctor would turn the corner first, finally giving a nod towards Crimson. "Alright, sorry for making you wait. Hm..." Alright, first tricky thing: where was the best place to put this fire-type? Eh, he just nodded to the metal table, and would start with the diagnostic questions:
"Well, guess I should start with this: does anything feel off? Should we be looking for something specific, or are you just looking for a check-up in general?"

Crimson had no reason to be hostile, no reason not to be a bit clueless either. Given his desire to live a very humble life; of a wanderer who’s greatest interest was that to watch the stars and visit places from his past. Maybe though… he could stop doing one or the other. Or even both. Maybe go somewhere that wasn’t the desert. But that was a time and a thought for when he wasn’t waiting to get himself checked.
An andromon and a solarmon; both mons that crimson himself hadn’t really seen too much of. Perhaps it was because of his lifestyle or that he was just blissfully unaware. The two hours didn’t drag on for him; it was practically a blink for him. Maybe even less so. Crimson flicked his ears at hearing the good doctor talking to someone… who sounded actually quite tired once they started to talk back.
”Is it all right if I ask him some questions? Just a few standard fare things. I’m interested to know how someone this old has escaped notice for so long too… you’d think he’d show up on the radar somewhere.”
The voice was tired; kind and if not outlandishly curious. Crimson raised his brows and upon seeing the doctor’s daughter he’d blink. A flowing robe, horned head, soft gentle eyes, a long fluffy tail with a head on it. This being was not a cat; at least not purely. Crimson met the other’s eyes and they’d share a smile towards one another. Holly was friendly and kind while crimson was also friendly and outwardly gentle. So it’d make sense that they both would likely hit it off right away.
”Ah no worries there. Two hours is hardly any time for me.”
”Hey there. I’m holly, I’ll be uh… well my da’s assistant for this.”
”Crimson. Charmed of course!”
The two would share a handshake and holly would glance at the metal table. The elemental would take a seat; the table groaning under his weight. A ‘rock’ type with a heart of fire was bound to weigh a lot!
”well the last time I had a check up was back when my empire was still strong. So I’m probably way overdue. Hmm. That and these cracks here I suppose would be a good place or specific. Don’t know what caused them.”
The elemental would point to his chest and motion across them; there was even a good swath over one part of his face and even going through his eye. They didn’t seem damaging at all but… it was certainly some kind of strange design or effect going on!

"Sure, ask him questions, but don't press if he doesn't want to answer. Offhand, I don't think he has anything to really be concerned about."
With that, and with Holly and Crimson introducing themselves to each-other, Mikemon would listen carefully to any complaints that Crimson had. The volcanic elemental seemed somewhat concerned with the cracks alongside his body, the doctor returning a small nod. "Understood, I'll be sure to take a look into them. First off, though, I want to get a good look at your core." As he spoke, the doctor reached off to his left side, his hand briefly vanishing into a dark portal, the feline plucking out a familiar ruby crystal.
"This is just a 'lens'. Now, let's see..." The feline's eyesight 'tightened', pupils growing small, as he held that crystal upwards, and peered through it - once more looking into the depths of a patient's core. And what he saw was, as expected, ancient.
Very ancient. All of the symptoms of advanced age were there: several layers to the core, new connections between pieces of fractal code as the older ones died away, the works. As he peered through the 'lens', the feline was sketching what he saw on a fresh notepad, taking the occasional note to denote a broken connection or anything that might seem off.
Everything said? A few minutes later, the feline would take a look down at those notes, and...
"... Well. You're old." The doctor chuckled. "To put it simply, your core will be running a fair bit slower than a 'freshly created' Digimon, but there's nothing to be very concerned about. As for your cracks... given that your core isn't actually damaged? Its because you're cooling."
Cooling?
"You're a mix earth and fire, and the desert, though hot, isn't 'volcano-hot'. Given a hot-enough environment, your skin will melt and your cracks will recede, but once you spend a day or two outside of such an environment, your 'carapace' solidifies, and breaks off into sections."
"In fact, its probably a good thing that it cracks, or you would be too stiff to move. My only advice to you is to avoid the far north... and maybe to seek shelter when it rains."

”Oh that’s easy to explain. I’ve kept my head down for a milenia. People I help generally seek it out if they need it but largely I’m left alone. The local fauna knows better and my signal isn’t overwhelming.”
Holly blinked a little bit and crimson couldn’t help but chuckle. He’d tap at his head right under where the quartet of ears sat. Honestly what would she really expect other than the fact that he would have heard her regardless of what she had said?
Mmm. The ears aren’t just for show you know. I’m honored that those questions are what you’d ask of me though.
Crimson’s eyes barely cracked open and he’d see that lens; staring quietly at the doctor and honestly? He couldn’t help but lean forward just a bit to look at that dark portal. So he wasn’t brazen about it but… The elemental couldn’t help but chuckle.
A lens huh? Feels more than that but if that’s what you use it for…
In crimson’s case his core was even more ancient than K’s ever could hope to be. There was a lot that would have been wrong if he hadn’t taken it easy. For the last millenia or so he had been taking it easy. Traveling. It was just normal wear and tear. Nothing out of the ordinary for someone that was so old though… thankfully.
Hearing that his prognosis was that he was old? Made the elemental laugh but then there was more to it. That he would have his core running a bit slower. That his body was cooling and cracking so he could still move. Hearing that the digimon hummed a little bit. So he was in the wrong area? He’d tilt his head a little bit…
”Perhaps it would do me some good to find some volcanic areas. Last I remember the north was just a tundra. Has it worsened? Where would a place be that would be volcanic now and stay that way for a long time? Is there anything I should do or watch out for?
The mon was quite charming; quick to the point and the smile never left his lips. His hands rested on his legs and he’d lean a bit; giving the doctor a curious look. He wanted to ask more about them and that crystal. Even more about his daughter too. They both had intrigued the elemental that was for sure!
I could potentially kick up my own internal temp and whatnot, force my body to be hotter to the point of where I’d ‘melt’ again. Though I can’t keep that going on for very long. Maybe a few weeks at best? Rain just hisses off of me but I ussually just laze under a dune or something when it does.

"Heh. Another lesson to take to heart, Holly: you never know just how closely people are listening."
The doctor gave a chuckle, but there was an important lesson to be had there, about patient confidentiality! That aside, the observation would largely go off without a hitch: Crimson was a lava elemental with a simple diagnosis of 'old' and 'outside his element'. Nothing to really be concerned about, and Crimson was receptive to figuring out a solution, even to his minor problem!
"Well, its a fair bit away, but the desert still borders a volcano. Its called the 'Spear of Megido', off to the south-west. I wouldn't say you have to be a permanent resident there, but the natural heat would deal with the cracks. Otherwise, I would just advise rising your internal temperature, but no more than about an hour a day, so as not to strain your core. Extended heat energy can be stressful to generate."
Aside from that, though? "The cracks, by the way, are not harmful. In fact, you can think of your cooled carapace as a sort of 'armor', as its harder than your skin would be normally. Even if it cracked more, you can just melt it back into place."

”Eheh… Duly noted.”
Holly would follow with a small chuckle of her own and was fairly happy this little spat was with someone that was so chill. She’d fold her arms thoughtfully and hum a bit. The prognosis was just that this mon was old and that his cracks were because of how his element worked. Which made it really easy for him to come with a solution even of his own once he had the proper information!
”Spear of Megido huh? I’ll have to see what it’s like over there. If it borders the desert I think it’ll be okay.”
Hearing that he shouldn’t do the external heat thing for longer than an hour or two made the elemental blink. Going out there to deal with the cracks was probably the best idea. He’d sit up after a moment. Leaning a bit and tapping his chin thoughtfully.
”That’s very useful to know. I never really considered that or why various claws would always bounce or scratch me lightly rather than damage me deeply. Spose I have the elements here to thank hah…”
Crimson let out a small chuckle and holly couldn’t help but shake her head; a small smile forming on her lips. She seemed pretty happy with the ways things turned out for crimson. She’d exhale a bit and lean back against one of the empty tables.
”I’m going to get a bite to eat if that’s okay Da? I’m starving.”
Crimson rubbed his neck and slowly turned his attention to mikemon from the meiphmon. There was curiosity in his eyes and of course there was that topic that came up earlier…
”That works out well for something I wanted to talk to you about. If you have time in private of course Doctor?”
A small pleasant smile was on crimson’s lips; it wasn’t hard to guess what he may have wanted to talk about but… at the same time there could be many other things he wanted to address! Away from holly or the strange receptors of the guardromons!

"Being outside of your environment for so long, your body probably had to adjust and adapt. Maybe in ways that you weren't even noticing."
Smiling at Crimson's chuckle, the feline's ear would flick as Holly moved to excuse herself. It was fine, of course, the doctor returning a nod. "We're off-shift right now, actually - you should probably just go ahead and take a portal back to your home. And Holly, remember to re-hydrate. We've been out here in the sun all day."
With that, Mikemon would give a nod to his daughter, taking a moment to stretch. Honestly, he was about to head back himself, when he heard Crimson bring something else up.
Something that he wanted to talk with the doctor about, directly?
"Depends on what it is." Mikemon met that smile with a somewhat curious expression. Indeed, there was a lot that Crimson could bring up - but in private? That caught the doctor's attention. "Like anyone else, there's a lot that I would prefer to keep under wraps."

”Hmm. That would make sense especially since the amount of time I’ve spent outside of its normal environment…”
Crimson hummed a little bit and would give a small wave to holly; the two of them seemed to get along just fine which was… probably better than expected. The elemental definitely was intrigued by this family and by the little interactions. The energy he could sense from one also led him to consider the signal he was sensing from the father. But they weren’t related in that venue were they?
”Right right… I’ll be sure to drink a lot. I don’t want to get late heatstroke or something like that…”
Holly gave her father a tired smile and turned to walk through a projected portal. Crimson perked up at seeing that and leaned to take a look at it before it closed. He’d turn his head to look at the mikemon; his eyes cracking open and… well. Crimsons sighed a bit and nodded his head.
Well it’s about the signals that I’m sensing from you and your daughter. Both of them remind me of something but I can’t quite… place it. Like I’ve sensed it before and it’s vastly different than anything else that I’ve dealt with in the past. Though yours is so much more minimalistic compared to hers. They’re unlike any of the signals offered by the guardromon’s or denizens here I… was very curious.”
Crimson shook his head a bit and slowly stood up; he looked ready to go if he needed to. If the mikemon wasn’t going to entertain that conversation there was no point in pushing it. Crimson turned to look up at the tower; his curiousity wasn't gone regarding that either but after a long few moments he'd sigh and glance back at the doctor.
”Just reminded me of someone was all.”
