Plot Name: Extradimensional Threat
Number of Participant Allowed: Unlimited
People Needed: None in particular, just remember that each mission has their own rules and limitations. Follow them, or risk difficulty getting upped out of sudden. The difficulty ranks from B to S.The difficulty of the thread is generally centered around how well equipped is the team for the mission.
Premise:
“Theory of Net Ocean”, that was a theory that gained momentum in Ys after a certain incident in Sunken Elysium. Deeplane Council Leader Amelie has shared findings from Sunken Elysium which suggested that there is not just one Digital World, but many. Whether this means that Digital World is divided into servers, or there are legit alternate universes out there, it’s unknown currently… but at the very least, the possibility is there.
It sure would be nice if it happened to be just mere theory, with no backing of fact and perhaps just a scientists’ dream. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Amelie returned with data about another Digital World. It chronicled a tale of a Digital World that has stagnated, to the point where evolutions are impossible, and regenerating population simply wasn’t even a choice.
Among several data that she managed to recover, one details about Project ExD, which apparently a method to acclimate Digimon from another universe to our universe, or at least that was how it was worded. The program was meant to change the data makeup of Digimon from that world so that they could easily live in ours, something like methods to ensure that they stay alive.
...Unfortunately for them, before the program was completed, anarchists began to destroy the facilities where the program was made. It hastened the destruction of said Digital World. It ended up drifting in the Net Ocean until it reached our Macro Ocean, and where it now nestled in our Sunken Elysium.
...Thing is, it would have been fine if it just contained ruins, but unfortunately the contamination bulwark that stopped the ExD program from escaping have been breached thanks to damage caused by the collapse of said Digital World. The ExD program, incomplete, turns into ExD Virus. No longer have its native host, it started to mutate… and the effect so far is known as follow:
1 - To incompatible Digimon, exposure to ExD increases aggressiveness, desire for carnage and if isolated, might cause self harm. Said Digimons will be power boosted by a substantial amount. Even more prolonged exposure will cause the Digimon to die. As if poisoned.
2 - To compatible Digimon, exposure to ExD mutates them to grotesque beings who are constantly suffering. They always work in a certain manner: there are patterns to their movement, always shies away from settlement -- but will cause great harm and stress upon it, and they always wield a different element from their original form, for whatever reason. As a note: They will focus their attacks on the highest damaging character they perceive, and they will prioritize their attacks on “Derivative Digimons” which basically are Digimon that are anomalous to their actual species in a huge way (not in merely cosmetic way). These Digimons are treated almost like armor of a stage higher.
3 - After spending some time, a compatible Digimon might go right ahead into what is called the second stage of ExD in which they're no longer suffering, but still behaves predictably. They, however, usually command over first stage ExDs, and are generally considered very high threat. Breaking the chain of command before dealing with them is suggested.
ExDs are known to match the level of the threat they’re being subjected to. They’re known to evolve upon provocation, such as when you try to overwhelm them with level. It’s underlined to always, ALWAYS watch for the signs of the ExD.
ExD are currently found in the wild, threatening safety of the people. Your character will one day find an email in their D-Terminal from the local authority asking for help. So, will you join this ride?
(the premise only goes over the FIRST ARC of ExD)
Goal:
An overarching story to spice up something, perhaps character developments are possible? At this point there are currently four phases of ExD plot, each with their own theme and goal. There will be three legs for each major plot instance (or more if it’s popular enough). Each leg could hold up to four people.. There are “minor plot instances” between the major plot instances and break between arcs. The OOC goal of the plot as a whole is to release Yuukz designed Digimons for the forum to use (for the forum only), and to just have fun, pretty much. Anyway, that’s pretty much it.
