"Infiltration successful," whispered a soft female voice to no one in particular. Granted, the double glass doors of the entrance hadn't exactly been locked, but unknown territory still could harbor dangers! The veritable downtown fortress that the Black Gaomon discovered to be 'Tokyo Tides' had quite the intriguing entrance lobby to it she decided as she quietly made her way forward. The large room was vacant, and much like the setting sun outside it seemed that this place too was winding down for the day. There were a lot of colorful and informational displays that the digimon would have loved to browse though if she had the time.
Her golden eyes tracked back ahead to a dimly lit corridor that led deeper into the aquarium. Light filtered through water filled tanks danced mystically along the walls there. Jackie let out a distinctly canine whine as she glanced back and forth between several other hallways leading away from the lobby.
She was certain she had seen another digimon enter the building before her, but where could they have gone?
The Black Gaomon stepped forward to investigate further, but stopped and lifted her foot after feeling water beneath it. Water in an aquarium wasn't anything to be alarmed about, but then she noticed tiny puddles of liquid trailing off to the first corridor she had seen.
"Maybe this way then?" she asked herself as her ears perked up at the clues. Jackie would be lying if she said the excitement wasn't starting to get to her. As she scampered as fast as a bipedal dog could her tail wagged a little behind her. Her first trip to the human world was turning about to be a real thriller!
With her solo infiltration of a foreign land complete, all that was left to do was track down her digital compatriot and help them safely find their way back home!

Every so often, Tokyo Tides put on special exhibits. Usually when they got some a new type of big aquatic creature that would draw in crowds. Like the octopus, sea turtles or sharks.
However, this time, unusually. It was to celebrate mythology, an exhibit in-partnership with the museum, next door. It was just Miu’s luck that the rubber costume was the perfect size for the young trainee.
Miu was found with a crowd of children – circling around her. All whilst dressed like a giant sea snake called a Leviathan. The girl took it in her stride, smiling jubilantly at the children. Who in contrast to her cheery attitude looked upon the girl with confusion or mirth. Some leaning across to their friends and giggling in cupped hands.
As the children walked away towards the far more interesting shark enclosure. Miu sighed to herself and wiped the sweat that was building up from the humid air and the warm suit.
“Miu? May I have a word.”
The young girl jumped and span around as someone approached. Narrowly missed slapping them in the face with the long scaled, sequined tail.
“Oh, Mr. Kobayashi!” Miu said, bowing her head to the Aquarium Director. The rubber dragon-like hood falling over her eyes.
“It’s nice to see you, sir.”
Mr. Kobayashi was a portly, round man with a large mustache and kind eyes. Although, Miu got the impression that he was definitely motivated more by money than by the creatures in the tanks. However, she didn’t hold this against him.
“And to you, my little guppy. To see how you’ve grown since you’ve started,” he said, beaming a warm smile at Miu.
“I do need to ask you a favor though. I was going to stay until closing... but, I have a business venture to finish up...”
By “business venture”, Miu knew that he meant some kind of new aquatic critter to purchase. “Will you be able to lock up tonight? I know I can trust you.”
Miu smiled a bright smile and nodded. The rubbery hood flapping backwards and forwards. “Yes, sir. I can do that, no problem!”
“I’ll go and uh, get this costume off and then I’ll get right on it!” Miu smiled once again and wobbled away.
The Leviathan’s tail swishing dangerously behind her. Almost unseating an old man who sat on a bench as she took a sharp left. Mr. Kobayashi watched the girl for a second and then turned to leave. Swinging the briefcase, full of money in his right hand.
By the time that Miu had freed herself from the costume and stumbled back out into the main hall. The entire aquarium seemed deserted… at least, as far as she knew.
Little feet, both squelching and stomping as the little shark walked, duck footed, down the corridors. Leaving wet footprints behind her.
Her wide yellow eyes moving from left to right. Often pausing to stare through the large panes of glass that divided her from the assortment of creatures within.
“Same, same,” the little Shark muttered to herself, pressing her fin-like hand against her chin and she thought.
There were worse places to be lost for sure. But in all her time, she had never seen anything quite like this.
Nor, had she ever seen creatures like these. They didn’t watch any of the aquatic friends that she knew from her own world. Samemon tilted her head as the occasional brightly colored fish drew closer to the glass, clearly as interested in the shark as she was of them.
“Am confu...confuzed,” she muttered again.
Samemon paused at the nearest tank, the one that contained the Great White Shark. After looking up at it with her large yellow eyes, Samemon tapped on it, several times with her tail.
“Can help? Which iz find to Sunken Elysium?”

A second pair of footsteps sounded off in the entrance hall. Jackie's normally floppy ears perked up at the noise as the Black Gaomon suddenly froze in place. She let out a soft and anxious whine as she glanced for cover, and ended up running behind an informational display tower. Her sniffing nose poked back out around the corner as she tried to see who was coming. Jackie spotted the human, but the girl's apparent age surprised her.
"Hey! Watch out!" shouted the digimon in concern as the human's footsteps started getting dangerously close to the wet spots on the floor. Knowing that she had exposed herself Jackie nervously shifted her weight from foot to foot as she gestured to the floor with a gloved hand. She spoke again, but in a much softer tone. "Um, the floor's wet... B-But I swear it wasn't my fault! I'm a good girl!"
Another doggo whine escaped her snout as she stepped out a little more from her hiding spot. As she did so she carefully looked around to make sure no one else was in the room before staring back at the girl.
"I think I know who trailed the water in, but I don't know where they went. You wouldn't happened to have seen them, have you? Small blue shark with a chain around their tail? They could be in real danger wandering around all alone."
Despite the tense and awkward introduction Jackie's tail wagged a little again as she hoped this human would help her. She stepped out fully into view now, albeit timidly so.
"If it'll help, I can pay you for the trouble. Well, if you don't mind snacks as payment that is? Heh..." Scratching the back of her head Jackie chuckled before sticking her tongue out playfully.

The events that followed this seemingly normal afternoon were… definitely one of the strangest days that Miu had ever been witness too. Little did she know that this was merely the tip of the iceberg of weirdness.
–––
With her tasks in mind and now free from that rubber Leviathan costume. Miu took long strides across the now deserted entrance hall. All the kiosks were free of people. Except, the guests had left a scattering of pamphlets and other discarded trash littering the floor around the foot of the desks.
By the time Miu had almost cleaned the mess up, night had truly fallen and only the dimmed lamps that hung from above – shaped like a smack of floating jellyfish lit the room. Both the floor and ceiling had been designed to resemble a pool of clear ocean water.
“Phew. I guess that’s about it,” the girl said, stretching and holding back a yawn. As she ducked down to pick up the last few pamphlets which gave a myriad of information about the various species of sharks. An odd rustle caught Miu’s attention.
Perplexed, Miu turned her head but couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary. Slowly, she moved across the long stretch of shimmering water floor.
“Is someone the-th-there?”
Miu put her hands out to steady herself as she almost slipped across a puddle of water. If seconds before, someone had not shouted a warning. She’d have definitely ended up on her butt.
The blue haired girl turned her head, trying to catch sight of whomever had warned her. “Excuse me, but we’ve closed so I don’t think it’s a good idea if you…”
Miu’s mouth dropped open. What stood before her, albeit in shadow, was… unmistakably a black furred dog. Although, it stood on its hind legs. Not to mention the fact that it spoke, like a human, in plain human language.
“Oh man, did I fall and hit my head… or what?”
The girl was still trying to take this all in when the dog spoke once again. It was definitely legit. The jaw moved up and down and sounds came out. Either that or it was a very well made puppet.
Tilting her head ever so slightly, she bent down so she was level with the dog creature.
“You mean to tell me… that… there is another one of, uh, whatever you are. Running around this aquarium. But this one is a “small blue shark with a chain around their tail” and they’re in danger?”
Miu tilted her head in the other direction and she tried to digest all of this.
“You’re definitely… real? Right? No offense or anything but dog’s don’t usually talk… I mean… I don’t mean to offend you or anything, really. I’m sorry… let me start over.”
The girl’s cheeks flushed a deep crimson. She coughed a few times. As if she was trying to compose herself.
“Hi, I’m Miu. I’d be glad to help you find your… shark friend? Do you have any idea where they might be. Just… this aquarium is pretty big and kind of dangerous if you take a misstep. I’d hate for anything bad to happen to you or your friend.”
This was not even to mention that the Aquarium connected to the Museum next door. So if this “shark” escaped, that’d be even more area to search and who knows who it might cross paths with.
In her mind, a giant and monstrous bipedal shark, as large as the glass tanks was lurking round corners and waiting to take a bite out of someone. She shivered and then looked to the dog.
“I think we might have to start by following the footprints? What do you say… uh, I didn’t catch your name. If you have a name?” Miu said, tilting her head for the third time. So many questions had burst into Miu's head but it seemed prudent to concentrate on the task at hand.

The girl had been quick to avoid slipping on the wet floor, something Jackie had been thankful for. Whether it had been worth blowing her cover remained to be seen, but she was still glad that the human was unharmed. Or was she hurt after all? When the girl had asked herself if she had hit her head the Black Gaomon could only tilt her head in confusion, her black floppy ears moving as well with the effort.
Thankfully the stranger was willing to talk to Jackie despite their apparent skepticism.
"That's right!" chimed Jackie with an eager nod. "Another digimon, but she's like.. A shark? With the chain thing, and.." Her voice trailed off as she realized she really hadn't gotten a good look at the other digimon. She tapped thoughtfully on her chin with a gloved hand as she lowered a thoughtful stare to nothing in particular. The human snapped her out of her thoughts though with her next question.
Jackie glanced back up to the human in earnest confusion.
"I'm here so I must be real? Dogs may not talk in this world, but I've heard from other humans that here, all dogs go to heaven! Wherever that is?"
Confusion furrowed her brows as she pondered her own words, seemingly unbothered by the strange question that had been asked of her. The girl then introduced herself bringing Jackie back to reality a second time. Enthusiasm was quick to return to her body as Miu agreed to help her, and her tail wagged again behind herself as her ears perked up.
"Well, I can feel their presence a little! They're definitely here somewhere. But this place does seem kinda big now that you mention it."
Miu suggested they follow the wet footprints next, and the Black Gaomon nodded in agreement.
"That makes sense, yeah. Between the two of us I think we'll find them alright!" She paused when asked for her name, and in response she quickly raised a puffy glove to her head in a salute as her tone became embarrassed. "Right! I'm Jacklyn! But everyone calls me Jackie." Her glove lowered back to her side.
"Since you're helping me out, consider yourself under my protection, Miu!" said Jackie as she gave the girl a thumbs up with one hand. "And since I'm a digimon of my word, where did I..?"
Her voice trailed off as she looked around on the ground as if she had dropped something. She even turned around in place, nose sniffing diligently for what she was looking for.
"Oh! There it is," she finally said before stepping closer to Miu and bending over to pick something up near her feet. Jackie held up the large candy bar for Miu to take, smiling up at her. The wrapper was still sealed, and looked brand new. Its sudden manifestation and where it had come from didn't seem important enough for Jackie to question it, though.
"Be sure to keep your energy up, friend!"

This all seemed very odd, almost unbelievable even. Almost like she had fallen over and hit her head and now she was dreaming. If this was a dream, and considering how vivid and crazy it really was, it was likely. It was rather incredible.
Miu took a deep breath as if to steady herself and looked down at her new companion. But Jackie spoke before she got a chance. The dog creature held out a candy bar to Miu in her gloved paw hands.
“Oh, right. Thanks! I will.”
She looked down at the brightly colored wrapper and tilted her head ever so slightly.
“Uh, how… where did you… find this?” Miu asked, a look of confusion crossing her face. So many more questions filled her head, but she pushed these to the side. Once again.
“We don’t even sell these in the gift shop or in any of the vending machines,” Miu said, turning it over in her palm.
“You’re sure… amazing.” She pocketed the candy bar and a few seconds of silence fell between them.
Then, quite suddenly. Miu jumped, as if she had been electrocuted. “Right, we need to get going. Our little shark friend or whatever this is. Has quite a head start on us.”
“Come on! Let’s go!” Miu grabbed the hand of the Jackie and then walked her down the corridor.
Miu led the way, down the deserted corridor which led towards the tropical fish tanks. But also a lounge-like area where visitors could rest for a while.
“The trail led this way, I think.” An arrangement of red chairs lay in an alcove, half way down the corridor.
“Oh, I think we might have got our first clue.”
The cushions which had been replaced neatly upon her last passing had been thrown all over the place. Large wet footprints lay across the upholstery and the information pamphlets had been thrown all over the place.
“That seems quite… conclusive, huh?” Miu bent down to scoop up some of the pamphlets and replaced them back in the holders. As she did so, a question that she had been sitting on bubbled up to the front of her mind.
“So, Jackie. Can I ask you something? Just, how… how dangerous is this thing?”
As once again, images of human-sized, humanoid, monstrous sharks creatures roamed in the shadows. Striking at them from the darkness with a jaw with arm-sized teeth.

Where had she found the candy bar?
Jackie wasn't sure how to answer that at first. Her head tilted to the side in slight confusion.
"I dunno, I just.. found it?" she said candidly and matter of factly. The BlackGaomon had never really thought to question her ability to find snacks before. Miu confirmed the candy bar wasn't from the aquarium, but Jackie was far more interested in the following praise that had been sent her way after. Her canine head righted itself as she beamed up at the human with a happy smile, her fists eagerly clenched in front of her chest as her weight shifted from foot to foot.
Quite glad to have met friendly company Jackie then nodded before taking Miu's hand and moving alongside her. She kept her grasp comfortable as her head swiveled with her nose leading the way, sniffing softly at the air. Miu led them to a small rest area that had been thrown into chaos, and Jackie nodded in agreement with the human's assessment.
"Yeah! We're definitely on the right track," she said cheerfully.
As Miu went to pick up some of the pamphlets Jackie jogged about to collect the cushions on the floor. She had collected two of them and held them underneath her arms when her ears perked up at Miu's question. Stopping where she was at Jackie glanced at her new friend.
"Hm? Dangerous?" Her gaze lowered with a thoughtful expression. "It's hard to say, but sharks are already pretty dangerous in both our worlds. And some aquatic digimon get gigantic! Big enough to swallow people whole!" She tossed the cushions up into the air for dramatic effect, her expression changing to awestruck and adventurous. "Real sea monsters, like what you'd read about in story books!"
Her sudden excitement faltered however when one of the cushions fell back down to plop on top of her head, nearly knocking over the small digimon. Jackie grabbed the cushion and hugged it against her chest, peeking over it with a reassuring smile.
"I don't think it'll be that bad, though! None of the cushions or papers have bite marks on them? Also, I gave you my word that I'd protect you!"

This was was true. No harm had come to anything that had been disrupted by this supposed shark monster. Which, gave Miu some relief.
But at the same time, Jackie’s other explanation of “aquatic digimon becoming giant” had the very opposite effect.
“Big enough to swallow us whole...” Miu said, gulping. “Let’s hope not. I’d rather not be eaten today. I don’t even think I’d taste any good.” She forced a smile across her face and continued onward.
The watery trail carried on down the corridor. Past the tank with the seemingly aggressive and territorial Puffer Fish who was secretly just nervous and puffed up when frightened. Then, past another which held an octopus that made copious amounts of escape attempts and finally past fish that glowed eerily in the darkness of the aquarium, after dark.
As they went, Miu described these to her dog companion. Somewhat by force of habit and also to lighten the mood.
“I never actually asked. Do you even like fish and aquatic creatures? Maybe, just the normal sized ones. Not the giant monstery ones.” She indicating the tanks.
The two walked for a short way until they reached the end of the corridor which split into two. There it was. Stood right in the middle of the corridor, between the two paths. Yellow eyes, wide, bright and large. Its long tail which was very shark-like moved slowly from side to side. Jackie had been quite correct in the description of the thing.
“Uh, so, that’s the monster shark?” She said, tilting her head. “It’s smaller than I thought. Cuter too.”
The little shark monster copied her, head also tilted. Albeit in the other direction. “Um, so, now what?” She wasn’t sure if it might attack if she approached or if it’d run.
Before Miu or Jackie would make a move, either way. Something odd occurred. The cell phone in Miu’s pocket began make a horrible noise. Somewhere between a tin whistle and an angry swarm of bees. She pulled it out, trying to silence it, but the noise only grew. “What’s wrong with this thing??” She said, shaking it. But to no avail.“It’s never acted like this before.”
Miu shook it more but the whistling screech filled the corridor. The screen seemed to flicker wildly in various colors.
The shark took a step back, looking a little concerned and maybe a little scared of the noise. The pupils of the eyes seemed to contract into slits for just a second.
Then, it ran as fast as it could to the left. Tail slapping from side to side. Continuing to leave large wet footprints across the floor. As the creature vanished, the noise began to wain and then vanished completely.
“Wait! No, don’t go!” Miu shouted after it, stepping forward. “Jackie! Quick, let’s follow.”

Being eaten was definitely not on today's agenda! Jackie nodded in agreement with that sentiment as she hugged the cushion to her chest a little tighter. After they finished cleaning up the rest area the pair continued to follow the soggy footprints further along the corridor.
As they went along they passed by several tanks with funny looking creatures in them. Animals in the human world looked similar to a lot of animals in the Digital World, but there was something eerily off about them. 'Maybe that's why humans think we look weird, too?' mused Jackie silently to herself. Miu was kind enough to explain what each of the creatures were in passing, leaving the Black Gaomon's mouth slightly agape in wonder as she nodded.
"Oh, I love fish. They're really tasty!" Her answer had been enthusiastic at first, with even her tail wagging furiously at the thought of food. Her excitement quickly put the brakes on though as she realized which fish Miu was talking about. "But I-I wouldn't eat fish that people keep. Or other digimon, either! I know I'm a uh.. o-mi-na-vore, but I also know that people aren't food." Big words were hard, but she believed that's what her dad had said before.
Further down the corridor they came across their quarry. Jackie's ears perked up at their discovery as her eyes widened slightly.
"Yeah, that's the one!" confirmed the canine. As the little shark mimicked Miu the Black Gaomon giggled. Cute was definitely one way to describe the other digimon.
Unfortunately, they didn't get a chance to do anything more. A strange noise suddenly cut through the quiet. Reflexively Jackie leaned away from Miu as she watched the human fuss with her phone. She raised her hands to cover her ears as she winced. The sounds seemed to scare off the little shark, too. The poor blue digimon was quick to scamper off and away from them. By the time Jackie had noticed it was already too late. Even more strange, the noise from Miu's phone softened into silence with the other digimon's departure.
"Ah, right behind you, Miu!" answered Jackie as she ran alongside the girl. Unsure of what had just transpired, she tried to dissect the situation in her head. As she kept pace with her companion she asked, "Hey Miu, are we the first digimon you've seen? Do you think your phone was reacting to us being here? Or even just the shark? I've never seen a phone do that, either." Technology was far from Jackie's forte, but it was odd to her that Miu's phone had only acted up when they had gotten near the shark.

Now the shark had vanished, once again. The phone that sat in Miu’s palm seemed as normal as boring as any other cell phone.
Miu tilted her head, slightly confused by the proceedings. “I guess, I mean. It only did it when the shark was here.
It’s not doing anything...” Miu paused and held out the phone near the black dog Digimon’s right ear. “Not doing anything when directed at you.”
“Is that normal? I don’t get ANY of this. I just wanted to study fish,” Miu blurted out. Pressing a hand against the glass of a nearby tank as if to steady herself.
“I don’t get any of this, really. First, a talking dog and then a shark monster. Am I dreaming, Jackie?”
“Wait!” Miu said, jumping back to her feet.
“We can’t just stand around and do nothing! We gotta follow that shark monster thing before something even worse happens! Come on!”
The pair followed in the direction that the shark had run. Large wet footprints still inked their way down the black marbled floors.
“Not the gift shop!” Miu said, more to herself than to Jackie.
“You know how touchy the staff is in here? You stand around one time, laughing at a funny postcard and then you get thwacked by a broom for loitering and kicked out.”
“Basically, the manager. Is… very sharp. Like a shark tooth. So let’s be...very… careful….not… to...damage... anything. Okay?”
The very second, the final word came out of her mouth. As if life was just making a fool of her. There was a catastrophic BANG.
An entire book shelf fell. The books that it had once held flew across the room. Loose pages soared up into the air and then fell sadly back to the ground, far away from the spines.
“No! No! No! No! Noooooo!” Miu shouted. Trying to grab the soaring pages with flailing hands.
Across the room as the little shark monster reappeared. It jumped resolutely over the book shelf and then up onto a higher shelf that held a variety of plush dolls of the various sea creatures that the aquarium held.

The Black Gaomon resisted the urge to step away from Miu's phone when it had been moved next to her ear. She was afraid it might blare out that weird noise again, but as they had suspected the device didn't react at all.
"Normal?" Jackie echoed the word in an uncertain tone as she tilted her head a little to the side. Miu looked and sounded frustrated at her current situation, and rightly so. "I'd say this all is pretty normal, yeah," piped up Jackie in a reassuring tone, "things get weird when our worlds interact with each other. As for dreaming? I hope not, 'cause that would mean I missed out on meeting someone really nice!"
Miu wasn't out of the fight yet, though. The girl stood up again with a renewed energy as she decided they would continue their search!
"We'll catch them yet!" promised Jackie as she ran alongside Miu.
The girl was alarmed at where their chase was heading, though. Jackie had to silently admit that the way Miu talked about her manager made the person sound pretty scary. The canine digimon nodded in acknowledgement at the instruction to be careful.
Then the sound of something heavy crashed onto the floor startling the Black Gaomon. Her head snapped towards the noise and immediately surveyed the scene.
"Oh no," she breathed out as she felt her heart sink at the sight.
Between the flying pages she spotted the blue shark parkouring onto a shelf. With Miu busy trying to contain the mess Jackie took her cue to focus on the other digimon. She'd need something to distract them from causing more trouble.
'What about-?!' her thoughts were halted as she tripped over several over the fallen books. As she pushed herself up off the floor with a groan she noticed something half buried under a fallen paper. 'That's it!' Swiping the wrapped up snack off the ground she then dashed to where the shark was on the shelf.
"Hey! Hey, friend?!" called out Jackie as she held up the food item and tried to tempt the other digimon with it. The bright blue wrapper had a cartoon-looking smiling fish on it but nothing else. It wasn't a brand sold in this world, but Jackie wasn't going to stop to ask questions. If a Southern Tropics candy is what she found then that was what she was gonna work with!
"You must be hungry, right? It's a long way from home. How about you come down and you can have this? I'll even catch you if you wanna jump and make it a game!"

For a few moments, the little shark Digimon looked down upon the BlackGaomon. She had paused in her destruction of the strange human area around her. Head slightly tilted. Hesitant but curious.
Eyes wide, it stared down. The black slit that cut across the yellow, began to fade and then vanished. Leaving only the large yellow eyes, clear.
Meanwhile, Miu was jumping across the floor like it was made of molten rock. Scooping up whatever that the little shark had dropped and trying to repair the books, to no avail.
“Aww man, I am so gonna be blamed for all this. Who would believe that a talking dog was helping me try and catch a crazy tiny shark that breathes on dry land… that went berserk through the aquarium,” Miu said to herself, her hands full of loose pages of a book on various types of aquatic mammals.
The little shark continued to look down at the dog Digimon for several moments. Head tilting, ever further to one side. The long shark tail waving hazardously from side to side, in danger of swiping more items from the shelf in which she perched.
“Hungwy! Food?!”The little shark said, opening her mouth wide.
Without another second of thought, the shark jumped down from the shelf. Mouth wide.
“Nom nom! Food! Food! Food! Hungwy,” she chanted as she landed safely in the doggo’s arms.
Talking the candy and began to chew through the wrapper and to the delicious sea-salt flavor candy within. Miu stood up, arms still full of papers. She marched across the room towards the now content and peaceful shark and raised a hand. Almost like she was going to begin to berate it for all the chaos it had caused.
The little shark looked up. Eyes full of sweetness and clear childish glee. And suddenly, all of Miu’s frustrations evaporated.
“Uh, I hope you… liked that candy. Now, I think that you should probably go… to… wherever you came from.”
Miu looked across to Jackie, her own head tilted this time.
“Would you be able to take the shark home? I think there had been more than enough chaos for one night? Wouldn’t you say.”
“Where exactly do you come from, anyway?” Miu asked, hesitantly. Unsure if she actually wanted to know the answer. There had been far too much oddness, already.

A smile tugged at Jackie's lips as the other digimon looked down to her. Food seemed to work as a great lure this time.
"Yeah, food!" echoed the Black Gaomon as she held up the candy. Her smile widened a bit in nervousness as the shark jumped down to her wary of all the sharp looking teeth that were now headed her way! Jackie half expected to get nipped in all the excitement, but she managed to safely catch the little blue digimon. As it took the candy from her Jackie let out a sigh of relief and turned to Miu as the human came closer.
At the mention of chaos Jackie's gaze anxiously drifted around the room at the mess. If her ears weren't already naturally droopy they would have lowered even further. What the girl had muttered to herself earlier hadn't escaped the canine's ears, either.
"I.. Yeah, I know the way," she said softly at first before looking back up at Miu. "We're digimon, from the Digital World. It's kinda like your world, but everything is made from data. Even us. I think you'd have fun there, honestly. There's a lot of aquatic digimon to see, like this little cutie!"
Jackie carefully held up the small shark as a gentle smile returned to her face.
"Now that they've calmed down, do you wanna hold them? You should take a well deserved break, and I'll clean things up here. If anything can't be salvaged you can tell people that a stray dog got in as people were leaving."
Her expression softened into an apologetic look.
"I really am sorry for the trouble, Miu," she said quietly as her voice trailed off into a plaintive canine whine.
