Personality:
Once a popular student in her school and social group, Rumi has the capability to be quite charismatic, appearing as a social butterfly, and quick to form a response to just about anything. Granted, not always the correct response, but a response all the same! Seemingly fearless in social situations, the blonde doesn't hesitate to drop herself into strangers conversations, or to invite others into her own if she feels they're either lonely or eavesdropping. One should never assume that this is a sign of friendliness, however.
As a girl dealt a less-than-ideal hand in recent years, the most accurate descriptor for her may actually be abrasive. It is clear that past events have given her a jaded view of the world, and some days may seem that she outright wants to watch the world burn for it. Rather than giving a stranger the benefit of the doubt, the teen seems more than content to assume the worst of a person. And if there's no precedent for 'worst,' she just thinks they're 'boring.' But, even boring people have a purpose somehow, don't they?
On her own, Rumi is quite the daydreamer. She can randomly slip into her own mind, spinning mental imagery and stories so in-depth that it's almost sad to leave them behind. Sometimes, the daydreams can almost seem so realistic that it takes a moment to remember what's reality! It's clear that daydreaming is her escape, alongside listening to music. Outside of exercising, these seem to be the best outlets for any sorts of stress she's dealing with, and she tends to make it clear that she doesn't appreciate these moments being interrupted.
Appearance:

As a girl of half-Japanese descent, Rumi has unfortunately received the literal short-end of the stick when it came to her size. She's a small girl overall, though years of sports have built a decent bit of muscle, despite not being overly noticeable at a glance. With naturally blonde hair, the teen has been both praised and teased for her appearance throughout her life. Often, she pulls her hair up, either into ponytails or messy buns, to keep it out of the way, but there are still occasions where she's simply too lazy to bother with styling. Beyond that, she has almost catlike, golden eyes, and a fairly pale complexion.
Her outfits range heavily, though much of her wardrobe seems to be in beige or black. Rumi is rarely found in heels, regardless of outfit, as she claims them to be incredibly inconvenient outside of intentionally stepping on people's feet. As such, she mostly wears boots or sneakers that somewhat match her clothing choice for the day.

Personal History:
As far as Rumi's concerned, she felt she had a fairly normal early childhood. The girl was raised as a healthy child, full of energy, curiosity, and a hint of mischief. While in the beginning school years, she found herself the target of occasional bullying, nothing seemed to be able to stop the chatty child from eventually building up a large friend group. With parents that owned a large business in the area, Kurumi rarely wanted for anything, as she was given just about anything. When her family was busy with work, their affection was shown through gifts, and items that she expressed interest in. To the blonde, this was entirely normal and acceptable behavior, though it didn't go unnoticed by her peers.
Early on, Kurumi took an interest in sports, dabbling in just about anything that she was allowed to. Between this, music lessons, and friends, the girl was constantly busy. And, only got busier when a little sister was brought into the family! While Rumi was uncertain on this development at first, the new child didn't cause too much upset in her finances or free time, so their relationship became about as stable as one could hope for between siblings. Up to her final year of school, it seemed like Rumi's life was going exceedingly well!
Until the family's business began to struggle. It came to light that one of their trusted employees had been utilizing the business's funds in less-than-proper ways. Between lawsuits against the employee, and steadily losing money and business from the drama of the event, Kurumi's family had to shutter its doors permanently. As such, the cushy life the blonde was used to suddenly disintegrated. No more fancy clothes, newest gadgets on demand, or funds to treat her friends to classy lunches or spontaneous trips.
While struggling to adapt to a more modest lifestyle, the world wasn't quite ready to let up on her yet. Rumi soon learned that much of her popularity was for her funds, not for her, and her friend group began to crumble away. Still, she had a boyfriend and her best friend, Sachiko, that tried to keep her encouraged during the rough time. Midway through the school year, things finally began to normalize for the teen, with understanding how to budget better and getting over the loss of much of her social group. With life calming down, Rumi was finally able to start figuring out what to do with her future, as her family business was no longer an option for a career. Luckily, her Sachiko was more than happy to offer to help her look into alternative options!
So, they scheduled a weekend for a sleepover, with a promise to help Rumi look through career paths. At one point during the night, while her friend was out of the room, Kurumi noticed Sachiko's phone going off. Grabbing it, to go take the device to its owner, she noticed an interesting message and name attached to the notifications. Despite the urge to ignore what she'd seen, Rumi soon found herself scrolling through pages worth of messages between her boyfriend and Sachiko, detailing not only a strong dislike of Kurumi, but a strong interest in one another. After a fight which quickly turned physical, Rumi was released by the last of her friends.
Still, she managed through the remainder of the school year, albeit as a very different person. Upon graduation, Rumi was offered to move into her grandparent's house in Shibuya, for a fresh start. She reluctantly took up the offer, figuring there wasn't much to lose. Maybe a change of scenery would be just what she needed.
